For a prompt... maybe the Reader finds him asleep and takes the opportunity to get closer to him? Or, something of the cuddling variety? Reader can be gender neutral- it don't mattah too much to me.

It’s tiring running a growing kingdom. So many things can and have gone so wrong to the point where Bowser has to physically step in and fix it himself; which leads to a lot of complaining and ‘I have to do everything myself’s.

So it’s not uncommon to find his royal highness taking an afternoon nap in his room, which he always argues that he isn’t and is just ‘thinking of new war strategies’. The snoring that can be heard through the door doesn’t help his case.

Today though, once you’ve figured that the castle can be without its leaders for a few hours, you decided to join him for a quick snooze.

You find him in his giant bed, knocked out on his stomach with one arm cradling his head and without his sharp accessories, after bugging him so many times about how unsafe it is to sleep with them on.

“you could poke an eye out in your sleep.”

“I’d look so much cooler with an eyepatch.”

Once you’ve kicked your shoes off, you slowly move under the covers and make yourself comfortable. You look over at the sleeping turtle to make sure you haven’t disturbed his slumber and flop down on a pillow.

You weren’t expecting an arm to wrap around your middle and pull you from your spot. You can practically feel the expression on his face as Bowser moves you closer to him.

“Why would you do that,” you try to pinch the offending arm, “I just got comfortable.”

The king of Koopas opens his ember eyes and gives you a boyish smirk as he leans into his side, using the arm he had under his head to prop himself up.

You try to sit up as if to leave, which only makes him hold onto you tighter.

“Are you saying you don’t feel comfort in the arms of your favorite king?” All that gets him is a playful eye roll.

"Well, I wouldn't say favorite- ACK!" Mr. Comedian moves and puts a small fraction of his weight on you, and while isn't much still manages to knock the wind out of you; You feel his chest rumble as he chuckles.

Bowser takes the chance to flip you both over, with you straddling his chest and him on his back, "don't have to lie, I already know I am."

"Mhm." no use arguing against something that's true.

He brings a clawed palm up to your face, caressing your cheek with his thumb. Soaking in his warmth, you nuzzle into him and hold a hand over his own.

The look in his eyes is so full of love and awestruck that it nearly has you melting into him; as if he didn't believe that you were there with him.

He lives for moments like these, just you and him in each other's presence with no disturbances. It's in moments like these that he lets his walls down completely with you, more so than he already does. He wishes he could spend all his days just like this, with you by his side.

For now, though, he's enjoying this moment for as long as he can.

Note: Man how are there not more morning fics? Morning fics are the best! So have some HC things. I dunno. I just like bullet points. I might do the other brothers at some point, but that is for another morning.

I also aged him up in my head a bit but tbh this could work for any version of him I think. So. Enjoy imagining whatever you want lol

Mornings with him are surprisingly gentle.

He's usually the first to wake up. Oftentimes wayyy too early. Damn insomnia

Before your relationship, he'd just get up and train for a bit or read his comics or scroll through his phone or something. But now, he has you.

And he could stare at you for hours. Just watching your face and thinking to himself.

Noticing all the little things you do, the position your in, the way you breath, your warmth. It's almost like a meditation to him.

Every time you shift a little in your sleep it makes him smile.

He'll try to put those ninja skills to use and be all sneaky like and tug the blanket back over you or brush the hair out of your face without waking you up.

But once you join him and wake up expect LOTS of gentle little face kisses all fluttering at your cheeks and nose and forehead and chin.

He'll even lay them across your neck and shoulders and all the way down your arm to your knuckles.

And this whole time he has this damn soft smirk as he just gazes at you.

Your giggles are literally the most amazing thing in the world to him and he wants to hear them as soon as possible.

He will immediately start trying to fluster you, giving little ticklish touches, flirting, and teasing, telling little random jokes, or making silly faces at you, just doing everything to get a giggly reaction out of you.

He grins so proudly and smugly when he gets you to break. His eyes practically sparkling at your laughter.

His sleepy relaxed voice, all quiet and a bit rough can just make you even more sleepy though. And he will absolutely make fun of you for falling back asleep on him.

If you try to snuggle back up closer to him he won't even be able to fight you.

He'll cling back just as hard. Hiding his face in your neck and just covering it in little kisses.

Hold the back of his head and give him scratches at the base of his skull and neck, he absolutely melts at that. He will cling even harder and you can even hear him let out happy chirps in your ear.

His head just gets so mushy at this point he won't even realize how much time has passed until Raph is banging at his door for sleeping in and missing breakfast.

So it's well known that the Rise version of Donnie isn't the biggest into physical touch.

So working up to cuddling would be a slow process,

But I feel like once you got there,

Donnie is now the clingiest mf ever.

He will not let you go untill he feels like it,

So you better get comfy hun.

He likes being the big spoon more than the little spoon.

Mostly because his shell is really sensitive to textures, and he isn't exactly going to wear his battle shell during a cuddle sesh.

Donnie also likes to hold your hand,

He enjoys playing with them while you two lay together,

It gives him something to do,

And he likes how much smaller your hands are compared to his.

Sometimes you two will build pillow forts, them lay under his weighted blanket for hours.

(Usually untill you fall asleep)

2012! DONNIE

2012 Donnie likes it when you lay on his plastron,

That way, he can wrap his arms around you,

And pull you as close as possible.

He also like it when you give him a little peck on the lips at random moments.

Like you two could just be laying there,

Maybe he's talking or somthin',

Then outta nowhere,

Smooch!

He'll pause for a second, and look at you,

And you'll look back all innocent like,

"Why'd you stop talking?"

It makes him super blushy everytime,

But he loves it.

This boy, LOVES to be the little spoon.

He likes it when you trace little patterns on his shell,

Sometimes he'll try and guess to himself what you're drawing.

He never can though.

Donnie get's super clingy when he's sleepy.

The tiniest movement makes him tighten his grip 'cause he thinms you're trying to leave.

He'll get all whiny and beg you to stay.

Then you'll laugh and just say you were getting more comfortable.

(But oh god, it's the end of the world when you have to pee.)
