I heard you wanted writing requests.... I'd love the phil+tallulah+chayanne scene <:-) "this world doesn't want us here" type vibes,,,,

wrote this one my phone after i put the toddlers im watching in bed, hope its okay!!!

"Tallulah, get behind me now!"

Abuelito shoves Tallulah behind him, unsheathing his sword. She feels frozen, like she has been dunked into an icy lake. Chayanne pulls out his gun, and Tallulah vaguely remembers her own. Maybe she should have a weapon in her hands. She can't feel her hands, though.

The floating tornado of glimmering green and ones and zeroes seems intent on getting to her. It calls in creatures that attack her Abuelito and Chayanne, and then it slashes at her the second they are distracted.

She hears a scream. It must be hers because it doesn't sounds like Chayanne or Abuelo. There's a flurry, and she's suddenly behind Abuelo again. She doesn't know what's going on, she doesn't know what to do, even though her and Abuelo have talked about it. They've even been through it before.

So why can't she move? Why can't she think? Why is she still as a statue, left to be killed like mouse left in a snake enclosure, never to see her family again?

God, will she ever see her Papa again?

Tallulah chokes on a sob, and she hears more voices, sees movement around her. She thinks she sees Tíos Bad and Forever, maybe Tía Baghera. The ground moves beneath her feet, and she's falling backward, and landing in the dirt with a thud.

She's not sure what happens after that. Her eyes are scrunched close, and she can't get them open. Tallulah only opens her eyes when she feels hands grabbing her shoulders. A shriek is torn from her throat, and she starts flailing, before seeing blue eyes looking at her.

"Abuelito," Tallulah whimpers, falling into his embrace. She trembles as he holds her close to his chest.

"It's okay," Abuelo whispers into her hair. She grips him tighter, burying her head against his shirt. "It's okay, it's gone now. You're safe."

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to stay still." Abuelo's hand runs up and down her back, as she shakes in his hold. "I tried to run, but I couldn't. I'm sorry, I really really tried."

"It's okay, Llulah," Chayanne says. Tallulah turns in her Abuelo's hold, and sees Chayanne standing next to her. "You're allowed to get scared. We're here to protect you when you get scared."

"But I didn't do what I'm supposed to," Tallulah wails, "I'm supposed to find somewhere safe to hide, but I didn't!"

"You being scared is okay," Abuelo says. He keeps his embrace tight enough to be comforting, but not suffocating. Abuelo's hugs are always perfect. "We'll help you figure out how to work through that. It's important to get somewhere safe when you're in danger, but that can be really hard when you're scared. It's not your fault."

"But-"

"No." Chayanne stomps his foot. "It' not your fault."

"This island wasn't made for us, Tallulah, but we are going to make it through. I promise." Abuelo pulls back just a little bit, brushing the hair out of Tallulah's face.

"Okay," Tallulah responds. She gives a small nod.

"Okay," Abuelo says, offering her a smile.

It doesn't offer relief, necessarily, but she doesn't feel quite so hopeless. Maybe she really will see her Papa again. One day.
