Teen dramas are the one source of media that everyone can relate to. Adults were once teenagers. We can watch any show about adults but that doesn’t mean we can relate to them. I’ve never been a doctor or a lawyer, I’ve never been divorced or given birth or lost a partner. But you know what I’ve been? A teenager going through things that felt disproportionately intense because I was too old to be a kid but too young to be an adult. Sure I’ve never covered up a murder, been stalked by a killer cyber stalker, or survived in a plane crash with my high school team resulting in cannibalism.

I have experienced being young and feeling overwhelmed by how big life is. And that’s why adults relate to “teen” media. And most “teen” media is aimed at an overlapping audience between older teens and adults. Anyone who can’t understand that teen dramas are a situational media that requires all characters to be in each other’s worlds 24/7 and that’s why it’s such a popular genre, and mistakenly thinks it is some top secret genre reserved for only those with a youthful glow need to broaden their horizons a little, maybe touch some grass.

this message is so perfect and summarises everything so well, i can't even think of what to add! i honestly just think it's quite sad that younger people think you 'grow out' of certain media at some point. i feel sorry for you if you think you're not allowed to enjoy xyz at some point, but i'm not going to be held back by such attitudes and will keep watching whatever makes me happy. as you say, media about teenagers will always be relatable to me because i have lived through those experiences too, it doesn't matter that i'm no longer there, it will still bring me happy nostalgic feelings.

The anons you’ve been getting are so undeserved. I am so sorry you’re going through such a hard time on tumblr. It’s hard exisiting in fandom spaces where people can only see things in black or white.

Take care of yourself and remember that you’ve stayed true to your moral compass this whole time, and if others want to project their own insecurities when it comes to how they perceive what’s right and wrong when it comes to entertainment and entertainers, then that’s on them.

Casually enjoying content and creations made by people who have a shared interest with someone who you spent years adoring, doesn’t take away from rightfully criticising that said someone when their behaviour and actions don’t align with your own (and a lot of our) morals.

The only marriage scenario I can think of is if he married someone to help them aka someone who needed a green card or to get out of a rough legal or personal situation. And for that I can accept as something in character. But to have a full on marriage with someone he cared about intimately that would be ridiculously outside of Carlos’ character. So I can suspend disbelief to a certain extent but not if it’s done in a way that makes no sense.

carlos is definitely selfless to a fault and would do anything to help someone but like….marrying someone (even just on paper) is a huge deal. especially for someone who has been in a relationship this long. it just….there’s no way that this can be reasonably explained to me. for him to have been married this whole time while having a serious partner and not telling said partner would be wrong no matter what. but that’s just my opinion!! in the end this is just a show sjdnsk but this would just be very very out of character for me

HELLO! Welcome <3 This certainly is my thing - I'm always available and happy to answer any and all questions when it comes to Tarlos content.

First up, a warm welcome to the Tarlos fandom - we are happy to have you here! I expect that from your ask you have only recently watched the show. I hope you enjoyed :) Usual caveats apply - check tags, warnings, ratings etc. Not all blogs/fics/content is going to be for everyone, and that's totally okay!

Before I get into my rambling/screaming about how much I love other people and their work, I should also say that I never have enough time to consume all the Tarlos content that I would like to, and so this list can never capture every amazing person on this site.
