I lied. Yk how i said i never had a Animaniacs OC??? Thats because i forgot abt Lakko Warner- or my version of him
He’s a scrapped character but i didnt like what they did with him so i OCified him. I dont have anything all that fleshed out, it’s pretty surface level and i used him for a bit but i wasn’t overly attached for more that a week or so. As i said, im not an OC guy.
Basic info:
Lakko: older sibling to Yakko, Wakko, and Dot
-Mentally 18-20 y/o
-was never locked in the Water Tower
-only fully clothed Warner
-bad at EVERYTHINGGGG
-so forgettable one of the running gags was that he was in Animaniacs all along, we just collectively as a society forgot about him
-in another story i made up in my head he literally doesn't know about his sibs until the 90's. He doesn't watch much TV.
Backstory: was meant to- like the OG trio- act as a foil to buddy. He was supposed to play a straight-man type character, and his appearance is like this for the irony. A zany human toon vs a sane unhuman toon. There is a subversion but the idea was rejected.
Anyways: Lakko was made, and was deemed so forgettable that the Borax was like: “EUREKA! A character!” And then immediately forgot he made said character. Lakko’s existence messes with people and annoys them but unlike his sibs, he’s not trying to be. He’s ALWAYYYYS forgotten (except by his sibs, when they do meet)
Lakko technically didn’t walk off of his paper till after the og trio but he was alive, on the paper if yk what i mean (imagine episode 1 of Tiny Toons when Buster and Babs are still on the paper but are talking and stuff). He's completely apathetic and and chill. As i said, untalented hack who messes EVERYTHING up on earth he cannnnooooot pull out a mallet to save his life- but he will go batshit if you touch a HAIR on one of his sibs' heads. will struggle with 3x6 for hours on end.
Anyways: because of this not having the zaniness or drive or whatever to jump of the page like his siblings he isn’t there when they get captured. He doesn’t even know he HAS siblings. He does learn of them, eventually, though and is hesitant to find them. The Sibs do that for him. The sibs convince him to come stay with them by some means or another and at first he's all "no way, who are you three?" but then he sees the mistreatment they suffer at the hands of the WB studio and then he's all "oh fuck no there are my kids"
Sometimes he's simply a cousin to the Warners and not another brother. it depended on my mood. i didn't put much work into the backstory, just mostly the after senario and his dynamics with the other Warner Brothers.

- Bugs' introduction to the Warners: I decided to stretch it out for a little longer and add the inclusion of Buster (who as of Clothing has been Bugs's adopted son for the last 3 years) as a reason as to why Bugs was watching Animaniacs in the first place if he wasn't all that keen in interacting with newer toons in the first place.
I also wanted to showcase just how instantly fond he became of them.
-The Heart Attack: Took it out. Decided to just end New York off wholesomely. Also, I'm kicking that little odd connection between the siblings to the curb. So Yakko, now, is unaware he's got a dead sibling.
- Bugs Plotz's conversation: Just thought I could do it better than I did before. Bugs is more roundabout in his reasoning for being mad at Plotz. Also, removed the info dump relating to the types of trauma he and other toons went through. Rather, I stuck to Bugs mostly just talking about the Warners' mistreatment by bringing up Labour Laws and Rights, while also only giving a sprinkle of the underlying torment Bugs has inside of him regarding how Warner Bros has treated him in the past and the present
- Bugs the Warners' conversation after Plotz leaves: Left out the part of Bugs' talking about his more depressing past. Rather, I had the Warners sus out that something was up with him. Bugs doesn't explain, because he feels he shouldn't place such darkness on them (coinciding with his want to protect the Warners' innocence both in Clothing Chapter 2 and really the rest of The Nanny). They do however sense it and Yakko tries to suggest Bugs go talk to someone about this but- kinda fails lol because he knows what he'd say would be hypocritical (as a toon who doesn't want to talk about his feelings either). They're WB toons, emotions are not really their forte.
-The BedTime Story: Took that out completely as it was just a dump of info regarding Bugs' entire history. Rather, I had Wakko find a picture of Ophelia that Bugs tried to hide and ask about it. Bugs is short with his answers, as he's still upset about that ordeal but doesn't want to explain it to Wakko. Wakko is half-asleep and very groggy, so it's a gander whether or not he'll remember asking about the lady in the photo.
- The S Section Trickster: This one had the most changes scene wise while still fundamentally being the same thing.
- Trickster wasn't the one who killed little bro this time around. Someone else did. Someone important.
- Lakko doesn't die immediately, rather he bleeds out. He was still alive as S was drugged and placed in a room. He is however, dead by the time S wakes up. So he never got to say goodbye to his brother, nor was Lakko in the comfort of his brother's arms as he passes on
- Took out the section of S being tied up and bare. That was just a very disgusting and uncomfortable scene and I hate for younger self for doing that to the poor kid. Trickster's nasty ass comment about S reminding him of Ophelia. That was so ick of me. I had to change it. S now has clothes and is just chained by the ankles to the bed he was on
- Trickster is less overly comical villainous creep here and is more manipulative monster putting up a front of caring guardian that still terrifies their charges ala Mother Gothel and Judge Claude Frollo. This chapter is also a taste of the kinda dynamic Trickster and the Warners would have if they were in an environment Trickster controlled and alone together (something that you'll see more of when I post new chapters of The Nanny)
- More Limbo content! Because he's got some importance in the gang.
- Trickster is less of a creep but I made him creepier, if that makes sense.

And now, an essay about Dot Warner because I have nothing better to do
In the series bible for Animaniacs, Dot is described as:
"everything that all animated female characters have never been"
Was that true at the time?
I think so, and Here's Why
Tumblr media
Before I begin, I'd like to mention this is mostly gonna revolve around western animation...and by "western" I mean "not anime". Okay? OK.
Part 1 : Her design
I'll start by comparing Dot's design to the design of many other female animal cartoon characters that came before her, because a lot of them are...not great. For context, Animaniacs (and therefore Dot herself) debuted in 1993. At the time (and after) when it came to animal cartoon characters, guys would often be designed as "the default" or "the norm", and girls would be given extra visual signifiers to make it clear that they are, in fact, girls. Stuff like human-like hair, and/or really long eyelashes, and/or human-like body parts such as hips and breasts so they needed to be fully clothed, and/or smaller noses and mouths than the guys to make them look "cuter", and/or permanent makeup, etc.
Let's take The Chipettes for example:
Tumblr media
They barely look like chipmunks! They're basically human girls with chipmunk noses! Their-I guess it's probably fur-looks pale enough to pass as white skin, they have human lips, even human hair. Their hair doesn't even match their "fur" colour, which makes it look like skin even more. I know it's a cartoon, I don't expect them to resemble real chipmunks completely, but I should still be able to recognise them as chipmunks, shouldn't I? Just look at them compared to the boys, it's jarring:
Tumblr media
Although at least in their case, both the guys and girls are in full outfits rather than just the girls.
Gadget's probably another one of the best examples (pre-1993) of what I'm talking about (she has human hair and a more human-like body and hence needs a full outfit, meanwhile Chip and Dale do not), but Toodles is also a pretty good example (she has smaller, more human hands than Tom's, permanent makeup, really long eyelashes, and her figure even more human than Tom's). Even if they weren't in full outfits they usually were made to look more human:
Tumblr media
Female animals were constantly given more human attributes than the guys, usually just to make them look "prettier". Honestly a lot of female animal characters are still designed this way.
Meanwhile guys can look as cartoony as possible and go around in half-complete outfits no problem, because they were drawn to be funny talking animals, not conventionally attractive human/animal hybrids:
Tumblr media
Then in some cases they'd just take one of the pre-existing male characters, add a bow or skirt or eyelashes or something, and BOOM! A "new" character:
Tumblr media
Yeah they have no human hair and have cartoony proportions, just like the guys...but they didn't have to make them look just like the guys to do that. I prefer these over the previous examples but...actually creative designs would be nice.
Now let's look at Dot:
Tumblr media
See this? This is nice.
She has no human hair (the hair on her head is just more of her fur), no permanent makeup, no eyelashes needed to signify "she's the girl" (she's only drawn with eyelashes for comedic effect or when she's trying to look extra cute), no curves or hips, and isn't fully clothed and goes around with no shirt like Yakko, because she's a funny talking animal and should look like one, not a human girl.
Now let's compare her to her brothers:
Tumblr media
She's a different height, has no whiskers, a slightly different head shape, and has longer but not human-like hair. She looks similar enough to look related to them, but she's not just Yakko or Wakko in a skirt.
For this section I'm mostly just talking about animated animal characters, but I also want to mention that even with human characters male leads often were allowed to look round or blocky or basically any body type, and didn't have to look conventionally attractive; but female leads were almost never designed to look as cartoony, and were often drawn to look as conventionally attractive or cute as possible by being given more (even if just slightly) realistic proportions, and were usually of the same body type.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, the three human examples I showed aren't actually bad designs. Honestly, on their own, they're good designs! But they're once again showing that there was a clear difference regarding how guys were drawn vs how girls were drawn.
Dot's cute but they don't draw her anymore realistically than they do her brothers nor is her cuteness over-exaggerated by giving her more human attributes than necessary to make her as conventionally pretty as possible. She's anthropomorphic, but no more so than her brothers.
Part 2 : Her personality
Now, there were of female leads before Dot where the tropes I mentioned don't apply and whose designs are unique, like for example Olive Oyl, who's allowed to look wacky (stick thin and not curvy, lanky with noodle arms, circular head, large hands and feet) and Penelope Pussycat, who's allowed to look like an anthropomorphic, but still cartoony cat and not too human. So what I talked about before wasn't the case every time.
Tumblr media
But then you have to consider their personalities (or sometimes, lack thereof).
Many animated female leads were flat characters compared to the male leads, often because they fell under cliché tropes.
Some of the most prominent being: the token love interest, the eye candy, the damsel in distress, or the sensible one because "girl", who would often mostly just exist to set up punchlines the male characters would deliver.
Of course this didn't apply to every animated female lead, especially not by the early 90's, but it was still the norm.
Even Babs Bunny, who predates and is similar to Dot whilst being a good character in her own right, falls under the token love interest trope (also her design is basically a pink Buster in bows, although in her case that was intentional given that their "No relation" catchphrase was meant to poke fun at the "male and female love interests look and are even named suspiciously similarly" trope, so for her it works). Basically in some cases they'd just staple these tropes onto decent characters who didn't really need them.
Tumblr media
However, Dot doesn't fall under any of these categories. She's the younger sister so obviously she couldn't be a love interest, I just went over the fact that she wasn't designed to be eye candy, just cute but not in an over-exaggerated way, and she wasn't just cute to look appealing. Her cuteness benefited her character; either by the shock value of seeing a cute little girl swear or scare Satan or something like that, or by Dot using her cuteness fool foes (or at least make them look bad). She could hold her own in any situation and although both her and her brothers were captured a few times on the show, they escaped pretty easily each time. The one time she alone got kidnapped she basically saved herself, so I wouldn't count her as a damsel in distress because it never really feels like she's in real danger; the audience knows she's got this.
Most of all, she was definitely not the sensible one of the group. Sure she'd get annoyed when Yakko and Wakko did the Hello Nurse bit, but she was just as bad, and would react the same way whenever she came across a cute guy. She was of course written this way on purpose, she is very bit as wacky and silly and chaotic as her brothers. It didn't matter that she was the "cute one", she would go off-model if it meant she could make a funnier face. She'd gladly join in on tormenting their "special friends", without worrying about if their feelings got hurt or preaching that they should all try to get along. She'd gladly indulge in excessive violence. She'd gladly mess about and wreak havoc just as much as her brothers. I'm all for smart female characters (Dot is smart after all), but in a main group of guys and at least one girl, a girl doesn't have to be the sensible one every time.
It's no secret that Dot was written to be feminine. At the time, characters that were written to be very feminine often were written to fit within gender norms, meaning many were: passive, demure, soft-spoken, gentle, wide-eyed and innocent, and/or sensitive, etc; or at the very least more so than the masculine characters.
But Dot just wasn't any of those things. She was assertive, confident and acerbic, loud and outspoken, often acted more violent and angry then her brothers, witty, is as lustful and dirty-minded as her brothers, and doesn't get her feelings hurt easily and will instead pretend to be extremely upset/hurt for sympathy or for dramatic effect.
Tumblr media
Before and around about the time of Dot's debut, if animated female leads were given personalities that broke many gender norms (and that already wasn't too common), they'd usually be tomboys. Now let me be clear, there is nothing wrong with tomboys. They're just as valid as girly girls and deserve to be and should be depicted in a positive light in animation, but this perpetuated the idea that to be tough and/or wacky, you had to be masculine, which just isn't true.
Dot was wacky and tough but still feminine and was by no means a tomboy, and I think that's important! She liked to look pretty, she liked pink and dresses and flowers, but she also made silly faces, liked to play rough and was more than willing to beat the living daylights out of someone who was asking for it.
Tumblr media
Female characters in cartoons often either had decent personalities but their designs were lacklustre, or vice versa. Sometimes both their designs and personalities were lacklustre. Sometimes neither was a problem but their character was held back by having some trope forced onto them because "girl". Dot was a (at the time) rare case of none being the case whilst not having to sacrifice her femininity to be wild and strong.
Part 3 : Her role
By 1993, even if a female character had a good and unique design that didn't come with double standards and had a well-written personality that didn't submit to too many gender stereotypes, they were often:
A - An antagonist
I'm not saying these characters aren't bad people, but a lot of the time when we did get a fun female character, she was a villain.
Tumblr media
Also (for this next point I'm not really talking about the three examples above), sometimes they were the only female characters in their show/movie/etc to go against gender stereotypes, which just perpetuates the idea that female characters breaking gender norms is wrong.
B - Essentially a clone of a male character
They'd act exactly like one of the male leads with minimal personality differences (those differences usually being more gender stereotypes) between the two, if there were any; again perpetuating the idea you had to be masculine to be wacky and/or tough.
Basically a distaff counterpart, or a half-identical twin, stuff like that.
C - Less important
Even when we did get a well-written, well designed female animated character who didn't fall under tropes associated with gender stereotypes, chances were she'd be a side character, or at the very least perceived as less important than the male leads.
I'll just use one example for this section since it's a lot more broad in terms of scope; Granny from Looney Tunes. She's one of the most well known female Looney Tunes characters, but even she was never really the "star" of the cartoons she was in. They're not called "Sylvester, Tweety, and Granny" cartoons, they're called "Sylvester and Tweety" cartoons. Even the show that was about Granny solving mysteries, what was it called?
Tumblr media
But Dot doesn't fall under any of these categories. She's not a side character, she's not even a tritagonist, she's a protagonist. Yakko may have been the leader, but all the Warners acted as a unit and were presented as just important as each other. We call them "Yakko, Wakko and Dot", "The Warner Brothers, and the Warner Sister", etc.
I've already mentioned that's she's not designed as a clone of Yakko or Wakko, but she also had a distinct personality. She was more anger-prone than Yakko, she was wittier than Wakko, and she had a way bigger ego than both of them combined!
Dot's definitely not an antagonist, she wasn't a saint and she may have been chaotic, but you're meant to root for her. The people she and her brothers would go up against in their cartoons were often jerks, bullies, pompous, etc. Meanwhile the Warners had a strong sense of justice and morality. They weren't malicious (to people who didn't bother them at least), they just liked acting silly. When viewers saw Dot unapologetically being herself without conforming completely to how society thinks a cute little girl should act like, they weren't meant to hate her or love to hate her or anything like that, they were just meant to like her and laugh.
Part 4 : Today
There will probably always be room for improvement when it comes to female representation in cartoons, I mean, a lot of the tropes I mentioned are still commonly used (although I must stress that not all of them are inherently bad). However, it's better today than it was back then. We've gotten tons of well designed female leads over the past 30 years with three-dimensional personalities, ones who are gender non-conforming but still heroic, or who are strong but still feminine, or who are allowed to look and act as wacky as the guys on their show (if not more so), you get the idea.
Tumblr media
I'm not saying Dot is the first good animated female character (or that her character was handled perfectly in the original Animaniacs-it wasn't), we all know that's not true, but she defied many tropes that so many animated female characters before her fell under, through her design, personality AND role. Notice that a lot of other animated female leads that also do that (both the examples I gave and any extra ones that you can think of) most likely debuted after Dot did.
To be 100% honest, you could argue that, even as of 1993 (or I guess 1991 considering that's when the series bible was written), describing Dot as "everything that all animated female characters have never been" is debatable, but I do think there was some truth to that statement at the time. I can't say for sure that she was a trend setter when it came to how girls in cartoons were handled, but I'll always appreciate the fact that her character turned out the way it did in spite of when she was created.

My thoughts on episode 3
SPOILERS for season 3, episode 3 of the Animaniacs reboot
No beating around the bush, I LOVED IT!
The first segment was funny and interesting. I love seeing snippets of the Warners' everyday lives. Even if this goes against all the headcanons I held of them. I mean, why would a rambunctious group of kids living together with no rules wake up at 6 AM?!
Tumblr media
Here I am writing this at noon after having woken up an hour ago. Wait, didn't they say something about writers being nocturnal?
Tumblr media
It's consistent with episode 1- "You'll have to wake up pretty early to catch the Warners." followed by "WHO WAKES UP AT 4AM?" (Two hours before when the Warners apparently wake up.)
Wakko's a little cutie in this episode. We finally have a hard number on how much food he eats a day- 20,000 calories. Seems low, honestly.
Tumblr media
When this part happened, I got upset.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Damn you, narrator! Can't you just let our kids get some sustenance in peace?
I LOVED seeing the Warners pull off some Looney Tunes antics!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This image was really funny to me, with Dwayne's huge teethy smile and profits shooting up around him. I wonder if they knew how topical it would be? Having The Rock in a super hero franchise? (They knew Black Adam would be coming out, but they probably didn't know it would flop.) This season seems to be on point with the pop culture timing so far, as opposed to the first two seasons seeming out of date at times.
Tumblr media
I liked seeing the in-universe realities of toon creation. First, the new toon being born, the pitch failing, and then it just being thrown on the streets.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's a nice bit of world building for an aspect of their universe they usually ignore, especially in Animaniacs. I mean, if you're writing an Animaniacs fanfiction and you need an original villain, that's the go-to backstory. A toon who was abandoned and thrown on the streets, now jealous of the Warners' success. It also proves that there are toons in that world who aren't famous TV stars and probably just live normal lives. Heck, it proves that probably the vast majority of toons in that world aren't TV stars who made it big. There's far more pitches that fail than pitches that succeed in the animation industry.
And then the very next shot is this, showing the Warners up in their warm, dry tower eating hot food.
Tumblr media
That's... interesting. I feel like it's trying to say something. Like the Warners don't have it that bad compared to most toons. Or that they're aloof in some ways. I wouldn't like the latter, if that's the implication. The Warners are definitely meant to be characters who are among* and sympathize with the downtrodden.
The end of the short asks us to watch Animaniacs, every day. I'm way ahead of you there, buddy.
The Pinky and the Brain segment was good. I liked their dynamic, with Brain being forced to coddle Pinky for once. I also found it hilarious whenever Pinky would get stressed. He takes on such a different personality.
Tumblr media
I liked Brain's impressions. Shoutout to Maurice LaMarche, doing his impression of Orson Welles as the Brain doing poor impressions of Christopher Lloyd and Morgan Freeman while still having it sound like the Brain. Also doing Orson Welles as the Brain doing an impression of Orson Welles. I'm sure I'm far from the first person to have typed that sentence by now.
Tumblr media
The tickle fight was cute. I was honestly grossed out by Pinky sucking on Brain's finger. Their bare little rat hands have always kind of creeped me out.
Tumblr media
So yeah, good segment.
So about the first joke in the next segment, I have a lot to say. First off-
Tumblr media
Wait, sorry, I'm being reminded that this is a SFW blog.
...
...........!!!
I could freak out in all caps, but I know others have handled that for me already. It's what I've been asking for in the reboot. Jokes that make you question if they can say that, if they should say that. Stuff right on the very edge of what's acceptable. Heck, this might not even be on the edge. Some people might say it's over it. I haven't seen the general reaction and I won't for seven more days.
I love how they knew what you'd be trying to look at for the rest of the episode, and in every single frame they carefully obscured the bottom of that poster so you can't see it.
I know my reaction here might be disappointing. Truthfully, I was spoiled on this joke. But while it's what everyone will focus on, I just have to gush about the rest of this segment!!!
For one, the concept in general of the Warners framing fanart is super cute. I was going to write a chapter for Wakko's World exactly along those lines. I was beaten to the punch.
For two, the song is AMAZING!!! WAKKO'S SINGING. GLORIOUS.
I have never dropped an f-bomb on this blog. But
Why the FUCK don't we get to hear Wakko's singing voice more often?! I legitimately got tears in my eyes from how hard I was smiling during his part. It blew me away.
Tumblr media
This song was just so. DAMN. CUTE!!! Their singing, the tune, the antics. It just fills me with a feeling of pure, unadulterated joy on every single listen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Put simply,
Tumblr media
I was going to start this post by talking about how poorly I've been handling being separated from the fandom. This episode gave me so much joy I just couldn't bear to be negative. It blew all of that angst right out of my heart.
My current ranking of season 3 episodes:
Episode 3
Episode 2
Episode 1
This season just keeps getting better as it goes along. It would be funny if this list just ends up being in reverse order of the episode numbers. I would be surprised if episode 3 ends up ranked 8th, though. That would mean this was a season of truly extraordinary TV.
I encourage you to add to the discussion on this post if you have anything to say about episode 3 or the ones before it. Don't say anything (and I mean anything) about any of the episodes after episode 3. Pretend as if you're watching this along with me and haven't even seen the other ones yet.

#aged down or #younger- Art where characters are shown to be younger than their usual, canon age. Character-specific: #young yakko, #young wakko, #young dot
#aged up- Art where characters are depicted as being older than their usual, canon ages. Character-specific: #older yakko, #older wakko, #older dot, etc.
#alternate clothing- Art where characters wear clothing that differs from their usual, canon outfits. Can be anything from a small subtle change, like Wakko wearing his hat forwards instead of backwards, to total outfit changes.
#alternate universe or #au- Art featuring Animaniacs characters in an alternate setting than the canon Animaniacs universe, usually consisting of multiple different posts from the same artist all taking place in the same alternate universe.
#animaniacs- Not really sure what use this tag has, it just felt right to tag posts with it.
#ask- Post that was originally an ask, where the author posts art in response to an ask, or fulfills a request from an ask. Art from pure ask accounts is not usually reblogged here, unless it's of an exceptionally high quality. (That art is wonderful and just as valuable as the art posted here, but there is a high volume of it, it can often require a bit of outside context to understand, and it's already relatively easy to find and access, so it doesn't really fit what I'm trying to highlight here. I may change my mind in the future. If you want to see art from those accounts, it is easy to go to their page and simply scroll through it.)
#angst- Art that's angsty, that contains characters seeming worried, upset, anxious with the world, or just generally upset
#animated- Art that is animated in some form. Could be a gif or a video, and could be anything from a few frames to a full fluid animation.
#animatic- Animation where characters are drawn acting out an underlying track from another source. For example, a character singing a song that's not from Animaniacs, or characters being shown acting out a non-Animaniacs movie scene with audio from the original movie.
#anime- Art where characters are drawn in an anime style, or shown interacting with anime characters/concepts
#animeniacs- Art featuring the anime versions of the Warner siblings from reboot season 1. Character-specific: #anime yakko, #anime wakko, #anime dot
#arson- Art featuring people or objects on fire, or a fire deliberately started by a character
#baby- Art featuring baby versions of characters. Character-specific: #baby dot, #baby pesto, #baby squit, #baby bobby
#brinky or #pinky x brain- Art featuring a romantic relationship between Pinky and The Brain
#christmas- Art featuring Christmas imagery, themes, or stories
#clothes swap- Art where a character wears the clothes of another character
#clowns- Art featuring clowns or characters drawn as clowns, usually in relation to Wakko's fear of clowns
#comic- Art that tells a story through multiple panels. Does not necessarily have to have multiple pages. Generally, art must have more than three panels to be tagged as a comic, though I'm not entirely consistent with this and consider it on a case-by-case basis. All "comic-type" stories are tagged with "#story", regardless of the number of panels or how comic-like it is. Comics that have multiple pages over multiple posts will be tagged with a single, unique, common tag, usually the title of the comic if it has one.
#crossover- Art that features non-Animaniacs characters. Art will usually also be tagged with specific tags about the crossed-over property and characters, so a post with Disney characters would be tagged "#disney" and a post with Mickey Mouse would be tagged "#mickey mouse". Common crossovers: #disney, #looney tunes, #bendy and the ink machine, #sam and max, #tiny toons, #betty boop
#crying- Art where a character is shown to be crying (usually requires the direct presence of tears). Does not necessarily have to be a genuine, sad cry.
#cute warners- Art featuring the Warners in their cute/chibi style from reboot season 1. Character-specific: #cute yakko, #cute wakko, #cute dot, #cute pinky, #cute brain
#dancing- Art where characters dance
#dialogue- Art where characters talk to other characters. Does not count art where the character is talking to the audience or just saying something to no one in specific
#different age- Art where characters are shown at a different age than their usual, canon ages
#dog wakko- Art where Wakko acts like a dog or exhibits dog-like traits
#drug use- Art where characters are shown using drugs, including legal drugs like alcohol and tobacco
#edit- Art that partially consists of an edit, for example, art of a character being inserted into a meme, screenshot, or real-life location that was not drawn by the artist. Pure edits, where no part of the image is an original drawing by the artist, are not posted here.
#family- Art about family themes. Usually applied to art where the Warners have a family besides each other, or talk about such things.
#family kiss- Art featuring a character kissing someone from their family, in a non-romantic way.
#fancy pants wakko- Art showing Wakko in his fancy pants
#front-facing hat wakko- Art where Wakko wears his hat forwards instead of backwards
#gag bag- Art featuring Wakko's gag bag
#ghost of christmas future/present/past- Art featuring the Warners specifically in their A Christmas Carol forms from the original show: #ghost of christmas future, #ghost of christmas present, #ghost of christmas past
#gif- Animation in the form of a gif (not a video, plays automatically, loops, doesn't have sound)
#gloveless- Art showing a character that usually wears gloves without gloves
#god warners- Art featuring the Warners as Olympian gods from reboot season 1
#hand drawn- Art that is drawn traditionally on paper in the real world. It is sometimes hard to tell with my untrained eye whether art is digital or hand drawn when the image is zoomed into the paper, so this tag is admittedly not very accurate or thorough.
#hatless wakko- Art that shows Wakko without his hat, even if only briefly
#horror- Art meant to be scary or art containing horror themes
#hug- Art where a character hugs another, can be platonic or romantic
#human- Art that depicts normally non-human characters as humans. Character-specific: #human warners, #human pinky and the brain, #human goodfeathers
#hypoglycemia- Art about hypoglycemia, pretty much all related to Wakko

since everybody’s jumping on the train of wakko being nonbinary based on a one-off joke in the comics (which i LOVE btw) may i also add another “headcanon based on a throwaway line in the original show” and say he’s type 1 diabetic

Note
* shakes you like a dog with a squeaky toy * yakko animaniacs for the ask thing
First impression
i kiiind of wasn't paying attention to him in season 1 because i was too busy focusing on wakko and the mice... i liked him alright
Impression now
i hate him. i love him. he's an insufferable diva. everything he does delights me. he's a fruity little history nerd. he's the big brother ever. he is my homeboy my rotten soldier my sweet cheese my good time boy
Favorite moment
man idk... the entire sketch of him fighting with the animator was pretty gold but there's also yakko's universe aka THE top song of season 2. season 2 just really had him killin it in general
Idea for a story
i don't have concrete story ideas but i think about warner sibling moments constantly. CONSTANTLY.
Unpopular opinion
iiii don't really like the ship of him with max goof at all. like i don't see the appeal and they are not universes that work as a crossover for me it's the same with webby from ducktales and dot
Favorite relationship
interpreting this to mean any type of relationship and obviously it's GOTTA be with wakko and dot..... siblings....
Favorite headcanon
everyone started interpreting yakko as bi and i was like yeah i'll reblog that
send me a character!

Thirty Questions: Fandom Edition!!!
1.What is your Fandom? Animaniacs 2.How big is the fandom? Biggest fandom i've ever been in- second to Sonic, actually but that was a super super short period of time. 3.How often do you get new content for your fandom? Not a lot. Now that the reboots ended the hype died down, but there are always a few new things. 4.Does your fandom have a name to identify itself? (i.e. Swifties) I've heard "Fanimaniacs" 5.How long have you been in this fandom? Not long, 5 years?? 6.Is this your main fandom? The closest things I have to one. I try to avoid the A!fandom, actually but I would believe this is the closest thing to a ‘main’ 7.What type of content- if any- do you make for your fandom?
Nothing. I dont make anything for this fandom. Its all for me. If you happen to like it or agree with my interpretation, then yay! But i never do anything with “the fandom” in mind 8.What is your fandom role? (Fandom celebrity, fandom grandparent, etc.) don't have/don't want 9.Do you have any fandom friends? Do you want any? no and no 10.What’s one thing you LIKE about your fandom? All of the amazing fics and fanwork and content and discourse and stuff 11.What’s one thing you DISLIKE about your fandom? improperly tagging things 12.What is your hottest take regarding your fandom or media?
I hate the reboot 13.Whats your coldest take regarding your fandom or media?
I hate the reboot 14.Do you have a favorite member of the fandom?
Yes. 15.What is one thing you want to see more of in fan spaces pertaining to the media?
IDK, as i said i generally avoid the fandom 16.Whats your biggest fandom pet-peeve?
kinda hivemind-ish at times
weird ships/shippers
17.How did you first discover the media the fandom is attached to?
Yakko taught me Multiplication back in 2016-2017 but i didn't become a fan until 2019
18.How often do you revisit said media- if at all?
It's been years since I watched the show- i don't have hulu and DVDs are a bit of a hassle but i do own the box set 19.If you could change any one thing about the media, what would it be?
FIX THE ENDING OF WAKKO'S WISH!
(If i cared about the reboot, i would bring on Tom Ruegger, but as i dont and would like to avoid all mention of its existence on this account, my final verdict is still fixing Wakko’s Wish.)
20.If you could change any one thing about the fandom, what would it be?
More doodles involving more obscure characters/more comics 21.Is your fandom relatively new or old? (You decide what relative means)
Alive since the dawn of the internet
22.What are your top three characters?
Yakko Wakko and Dot, Easy
23.Do you have a favorite character pairing or group? (Not necessarily a ship).
The Warners/any Combination of the trio, Rita and Runt, Pinky and the Brain
24. Do you have a favorite ship?
Brinky ig
25.Do you have any NOTPs?
Aside from anything problematic irl, i dont think so.
26.Do you like being part of this fandom?
no 27.Do you prefer canon, fanon, or both?
it realllly depends. I will go with pre-reboot fanon. 28. Least favorite characters- if you have any.
Hip Hippos. 29.Do you make OCs for your media? How often?
No, never.
Free space for randomness and other notes!
Yakko, Wakko and Dot have my life
Dot was done dirty in the OG and done even dirtier in the reboot
The Warners should have had a “One flew over the Cuckoo Clock”-esque episode
Rita and Runt are top tier and i’m mad that they were sidelines (i know why, just, yeah.)
They should make more cameos in other media
I am an absolute sucker for names with a common thread and “Yakko, Wakko, and Dot” is PERFECT
30. How has this media or fandom impacted you?
-taught me long multiplication. Not even joking.
-the first characters i have ever looked at and said “i want to draw them.” I’m not an artistic person by nature. Beyond being able to draw the Warner siblings, i dont care so much for art as a skill for me to have or hone. They made me draw.
-longest fanfic was for this show (12K words)
-too many songs stuck in my head
-single-handedly destroyed my grades and social life in middle school. (Nahh jk i did that as a direct result of being a fan)
-learned a lot
-the Warners are seriously relatable but also whimsical enough that its not unbearable if that makes sense
-oops thats a lot of merch (its a lot for my standards)
-shaped my vernacular/humor/worldview
-Ageless/timeless/super popular
-i spent too much time thinking of it instead of important things
-every homework assignment, test, name tag, etc. would ALWAYS have of the Warners on it for the next 3 years- borderline illegible
-learned a lot about the internet- like the word ‘fanfiction’, ‘OC,’ I learned about Tumblr, Deviant Art, Fanfiction.net all though Animaniacs
Thirty Questions: Fandom Edition!!!

Animainiacs/Patb anime/ weeaboo headcanons!
The Warners have a manga collection/library stored at the top level of the water tower.
Each of the siblings favor a certain genre of manga more than the other types. Dot likes fighting mangas (mainly shonen/shojo), Yakko likes slice of life and romance manga, and Wakko likes food mangas.
Wakko has once or twice eaten the mangas by mistake due to the food shown in it, luckily, They keep backups just for that reason.
Every week or so, they have an anime movie/series night, sometimes Pinky and the Brain watch it with them.
The siblings LOVE Vocaloid and Utauloid.
Yakko has memorized most of his favorite anime intros, outros, and Vocaloid songs in perfect japanese. Dot is still figuring out how to do the same, but she can so far remember 1 or 2 songs in japanese, the other favorites in English. Wakko, on the other hand, mumbles the song lyrics since he isn’t fluent in Japanese, but can remember some in English, he mostly focuses on the beat and instrumentals.
They like to cosplay and shift into their anime counterparts at cons.
Dot has recently introduced Pinky to Vocaloid.
Pinky, surprisingly, can remember his favorites and sing them in perfect Japanese, which gives Brain a headache trying to figure out how he can do that.
Brain doesn’t like to admit it, but he likes anime and likes to listen to Pinky sing his favorite songs (When he isn’t doing what he does in the one above, which is rare)
The Warners also play video games of the anime genre.
I’m somewhat planning on drawing some of these headcanons....

Things I'd like to see in season 3
Slight Spoilers Ahead!
--A callback to "A Pinky and the Brain Christmas" in "How The Brain Thieved Christmas". Nothing too big, I want the two-parter to do it's own thing and not be a rehash, but it's hard to imagine that there wouldn't be a reference to it given that the reboot often references events that happened in the first show and the PatB spinoff. Maybe reveal that Brain still has the globe keychain, something like that.
Tumblr media
--If Slappy does indeed return (and it seems like she will), for Slappy not to be softened. Not that I think it will happen, but this is their first time writing for Slappy in the reboot, so I expect her characterisation will be at least a little different. Which I'm fine with as long as they don't change her morality. I say this mostly because the last time she had dialogue was Wakko's Wish, but she felt a bit too mellow in that. She's not like the Warners who, while I won't deny often act in self interest, do tend to help people in their own zany, annoying way ("La La Law", "Hooked on a Ceiling", "Magna Cartoon", etc). Slappy, on the other hand, only really looks out for herself and Skippy, and can be way harsher because she lacks their moral code ("The Sound of Warners"). This is the same woman who tried to blow up up a critic's house whilst she thought he was inside all because he didn't think she was funny and threatened to blow up a jury if they didn't vote her not-guilty on a crime she technically did commit...and then when they did she blew them up anyway. Not that she's never justified, she keeps to herself often only does this type of thing in retaliation (the previously mentioned jury were clearly biased against her), but still, let her be mean and violent!
Tumblr media
--Assuming Slappy comes back, for them to include Skippy. He was already in "Good Warner Hunting" and was shown to still be a kid, so aging him up isn't an option, meaning he's either gotta be left out or be re-casted. I'm really hoping they just recast him, there's no need to write him out just because his original voice actor is no longer a child. I don't like it when characters are written off or killed off just because their original voice actor can no longer do the voice, it feels unnecessary to me. If Slappy is on her own then fine (because let's be honest she's the one we watch her segments for), but Skippy brings out the best in her, I think he should be there.
--More Scratchansniff in general, but specifically him acting like a father towards the Warners (in more than one episode). Nothing too cutesy, the Warners will always find ways to stress him out, but I much prefer it when he's attempting to take care of them.
--Hopefully a satisfying ending to Julia's story, but given that they didn't know season 3 would be the last when writing this season, it's not likely. Not their fault if this one doesn't happen, I'd be happy enough to see her return.
--A FULL WAKKO SONG. Multiple Wakko songs actually, that would be great. I do prefer the other two Warners over him but they each have multiple songs in the reboot whereas Wakko only has one so far-"Gruesome Ol' Gruel"...and it's like 50 seconds long. I think he deserves more (Yakko got four in season 2 alone!) Scratchansniff has more songs than Wakko in the reboot so far. Granted, he didn't sing much in the original series so it's great that he sings more here, but him getting more new songs than a main character is kinda weird. Well, I guess you could count "Hot Washed Buns", but I don't (that one's even shorter than "Gruesome Ol' Gruel" anyway). I think this one is likely, season 1 focused a lot on Dot and season 2 focused a lot on Yakko, so maybe season 3 will do the same for Wakko!

Ok, I just watched season 2, episode 1, and I… I…
I absolutely loved it!
Why the dramatic build up? Because I can’t say that for any season 1 episode. I thought season 1 was fine, but there weren’t any episodes that really stood out as great to me. After watching the season premier on Twitter, I didn’t have my hopes up for this season as a whole (it was fine, like season 1, but not anything extraordinary in my opinion).
But this entire episode, all three segments, I loved beginning to end. It’s even stranger because I thought Trump jokes were the worst part of season 1, but I liked most of them here. They were generally pretty clever, which is extraordinarily hard to do in the Trump genre of comedy. Loved the unexpected “I Am the Very Model of a Cartoon Individual” parody (the show parodies its own songs now, apparently) (Edit: I was uncultured at the time I wrote this review). I burst out laughing at Yakko’s flyby “goodnight everybody!” Just good stuff.
The Pinky and the Brain segment was both funny and genuinely interesting. I loved the ending, where Brain and Pinky switched personalities and began working really great as a team. LaMarche’s Pinky impression was very funny. And I liked the relative subtlety of it- you don’t really realize that Pinky’s personality changed too until the end where he starts doing smart stuff. Finally, of course, some people out there were undoubtedly very pleased to hear the word “Brinky” come out of Pinky’s mouth.
Wakko’s segment where he was a Fortnite iPad kid was extremely charming and cute. I loved Wakko’s solo segments in the original and I loved this just as much. His line, “We can’t have children anyway. We’re like mules.” got me thinking (and laughing).
In summary, I haven’t enjoyed an episode of Animaniacs this much since I watched the original series earlier this year. (Don’t think about that statement too much.) If anyone out there cares about my opinions, I greatly recommend it and hope the rest of the season will be this good.
I’m not the type of person to watch the whole season all at once, though, so I’ll mostly be disappearing from Tumblr for at least the next few days. Goodbye everybody!

The Concept Artist
Chapter 1
1998
It had all started with a letter. A seemingly unimportant, unsuspecting letter to one Lon Boraz and the Animaniacs.
The Warners were filming their newest film, "Wakko's Wish," when they heard Sandra, their ever friendly mail carrier, trying to get through the sea of crew to deliver a letter to the three. "I need to get this letter to them! Please, I can never get the letters up the tower, I just need to hand them to the Warners, and then I'll leave."
"Sandra, they're in the middle of filming, if you would just--"
"It's okay, Ron, I think we're done anyways," the director told him. "Come on in, Sandra."
Ron shot Sandra a dirty look before letting her pass. "Here you go, kids. Sorry to interrupt filming," Sandra handed them the letter before turning to exit.
"Thank you, Sandra!" The Warner siblings called before haphazardly tearing the letter open.
"What does it say, Yakko?" Dot asked.
"Oh, please tell us!" Wakko chimed in.
"Alright, alright, hold your horses," Yakko laughed. "Ahem, 'Lon, I've missed you my dearest friend. We've missed you. I know we've had our differences in the past, but I would love to see you again. Come visit the old studio again, and bring those Warners of yours with you, I'm sure they'd love to see how it all began. -Fredrick.'"
"Lon?" Dot asked. "Like Lon Borax? I thought he retired... and went nuts."
"He did. Old Freddy here must not be too close with Lon," Yakko muttered.
"Well, why don't we ask him to take us?" Yakko froze.
"I-I don't think that's such a great plan Wak. Lon isn't the most stable guy."
"Come on, Yakko. He created us! And we could at least ask for the address to the studio!" Dot chimed in.
"I don't even know if we should go to the studio, Dot. Something feels off with all thi-- hey!"
Before Yakko could even finish his sentence, his siblings were taking off to find Lon. Yakko sighed. "I guess there isn't any talking them out of it now."

Lon Borax lived on the outskirts of Burbank in the Home For Retired Animators (Who Went Insane). Yakko never much liked the place. It always gave off odd vibes, smelled old and musty and the bars that had adorned each window always reminded him of his own imprisonment in the water tower. He shook his head, as if to rid himself of the thoughts. He wouldn't be there long, all they had to be there for was talking to Lon, getting the address, and then dealing with his siblings.
As they approached, Yakko could make out the figure of a slender woman sitting at a desk near the front, the secretary, he assumed. If Yakko hadn't liked the building from the outside, he liked the inside even less. The faded yellow paint peeled at the corners and looked scratched in the middle, as if someone had tried to rip it from the walls. The air conditioning was deafening and made the room entirely too cold. How someone could work, let alone live here, Yakko would never know.
"Excuse me ma'am," Wakko asked as they approached the woman's desk. "We're here to see Lon Borax."
"And who should I say is here," the woman asked them.
"We're the Warner brothers!"
"And the Warner sister!"
The woman, Stacy, Yakko deduced from her name tag, typed at her laptop before looking up at them. "You three are the Warners?"
"Yep, that's us," Dot said, batting her eyes for effect.
"I'm afraid Mr. Borax isn't taking any visitors. Sorry kids, I'll tell him you stopped by."
"Oh, don't worry," Wakko waved his hand dismissively. "We won't be long."
"Maybe I wasn't making myself clear enough the first time. Mr. Borax won't see anybody. Now, I'm very sorry, but I have to ask you to leave," Stacy told them, shooing them out the door.
"But we came all this way!" Dot cried.
"I know, and I'm sorry but--"
"What's all that racket?" A male voice from inside called.
"Nothing, Mr. James!" Stacy called back, trying to push the three outside, but they just dug their heels in.
"We want to see Mr. Borax!" Dot cried once again.
"For the love of God, Stacy, just let them in already!" The man... Mr. James hollered.
"But sir--"
"Let them in!"
Finally, Stacy stopped pushing them, letting them pass her by.
"Borax is in room 258," Mr. James said, not even glancing up from his newspaper.
"Thank you!" The Warners laughed as they planted a big, sloppy kiss on the man's face.
"Bah! You kids better hurry before I change my mind!"
The Warners just laughed as they ran down the hall in search of room 258. Soon, the air smelled mustier than before, if that were possible. The pit in Yakko's stomach grew heavier as he saw they were coming up on Lon's room. He never had much trust with the man. He knew that Lon was here for a reason, and was highly capable of violence if he wanted to be. His siblings, however, had always looked up to him in a way. It made sense he supposed, he had created them after all. But from Yakko's minimal knowledge of the man, there was one thing he knew for certain, Lon Borax hated the Warners, and wanted nothing more than to be rid of them for good.
Before Yakko realized it, there it was. room 258.
"Sibs," Yakko started, stopping them from turning the handle of the old oak door. "Lon may not be thrilled to see us..."
"What do you mean by that, Yakko?" Dot asked.
"I-Lon... just... don't get your hopes us about him, okay?"
Dot and Wakko nodded hesitantly, before turning the handle to open the creaking wooden door.
"Nurse, for the last time, I don't want your crap JELLO!" Lon screamed when he heard the door squeak open. Dot and Wakko flinched, not anticipating such a forceful greeting. Yakko, however, stood perfectly still, as if he had known this was coming, As his siblings stood frozen in the entryway, Yakko walked into the room, his face calm and collected, but his hands subtly trembling by his sides.
"Lon Borax?" he asked.
"The f*ck do you want?" Any other time, Yakko would have made a witty remark about how even on the outskirts of the studio, the censoring was still there, but he was too nervous for that. Lon's face was burried under blankets, but Yakko could could see he was eerily thin and deathly pale.
"It's Yakko Warner. We need to talk."
Lon whipped around to face him, and his siblings who had hesitantly been looking in from the doorframe. "You," he spat. "You're the miserable freaks of nature that got me stuck here."
Yakko flinched, "I'm not thrilled to see you either, Lon. So let's make this as quick as possible, yeah?" Lon grunted. "Great. We got a letter. It's addressed to you, but it concerns us as well, so we got it first," Yakko handed him the letter.
"First you steal my career, now my mail," Yakko heard him growl under his breath. He read the letter, eyes widening. Finally, he finished, throwing the letter at Yakko. "I ain't taking you kids, if that's what you think is happening here."
Yakko swallowed, "I didn't think you would. Could you tell us the address of the studio?"
"There's a return address, moron. It's the studio address. Now get out of my room."
Yakko stared at the envelope, and sure enough, a return address was penciled in at the top left hand corner. Yakko felt a small pit of anger bubble in his stomach as he realized he could have avoided this whole encounter, kept Wakko and Dot's image of the man untainted.
"Are you f*cking deaf? I said get out of my room!" Lon howled, throwing a glass at Yakko. It landed about a foot from Yakko's feet, but it shattered on impact, sending shards of glass hurtling at Yakko, Wakko, and Dot. Luckily, none of the shards hit them, but when Yakko heard Dot start to cry, Yakko realized this man was not against throwing something else, potentially more dangerous, so Yakko hurriedly ran to his siblings, being quick to get them from the foul smelling building, to the damp grass outside. Dot was crying quite heavily, and Wakko was shaking like a leaf.
"Are you two okay?" Yakko asked. "He didn't hit either of you, did he?"
Wakko and Dot shook their heads.
"Why was he so mean?" Wakko asked finally. "I thought-I thought he'd like us."
Yakko brought them both in for a hug. "Some people are just mean," Yakko whispered. "And need someone to blame their troubles on."
Though neither sibling was willing to bring it up, they could feel Yakko shaking as he said it. Whether from anger, fear, or both, they couldn't tell. And they weren't sure they were willing to find out.

Alright, I hope you guys enjoyed and if you did please give this a like, a reblog or check it out on Ao3

Yakko Warner
(I’ll come back to this post to keep submitting pics of him that I like.)
I figured I’d do this sooner or later and thought to do it as part of animaniweek. Monday through Thursday - Yakko, Wakko, Dot, Pinky and The Brain
I’m gonna explain how I feel about Yakko Warner.
(INHALES)
I didn’t like him.
Let me explain.
So, the only Animaniacs thing I saw as a child was Wakko’s Wish. Maybe a second of a promo? They were in a YouTube poop I saw a couple years later. Few years later, my teacher showed us Wakko’s America and an audio version of Ballad of Magellan. Then two or three years later I watched Animaniacs (mostly just the Warners).
My feelings from Wakko’s Wish came back (everything else I was just like “Okay, cool.”) Yakko was kind of the tritagonist so I didn’t pay attention to him. But watching Animaniacs...I didn’t like him. (See Wakko and Dot posts for more information)
I avoided every episode with his name in the title. He was okay with his siblings. But not by himself.
Reason as child? No idea. Maybe also I tend to pay attention to the younger cast members.
Reason several years ago...can be a number of things. When I watch shows, I tend to pay attention to the younger kids most likely because I am the youngest in my family. I could’ve not got what he was saying. ...Could be just no coherent reason. Sometimes you look at somebody and just get a dislike for them. He could’ve reminded me of some type of people that I don’t like.
Imagine my surprise when about 90% of the fanbase has him as is favorite. I mean I knew but it was strong, and the people...confused me. The other 10% were either Wakko (7%), Dot (2%), or a side characters (1%). I’m guesstimating.
People either wanted to be like Yakko or crushed on him. Couldn’t understand either. But...so much so that there was even some hostility if you liked another character more. I’ll never understand why people can never accept other people’s opinions. I’ll go more in-depth in Wakko and Dots’ posts.
Appearance-wise, I remember considering him plain (lol). Like Wakko and Dot had more clothing.
I’m the only one I knew that didn’t like him. So I never said anything.
I was only frustrated because he had the most skits to himself. So i had to skip episodes because of it.
You know what made me start liking him?Family by The Middle Warner Sibling
I remember reading the ch. 1 authors notes and thinking to myself, “This is gonna change how I feel about Yakko.” And it did.
I guess it...humanized him? But it made me feel how he felt and kept him in-character. (Although...he’s pretty shallow.) But I owe TMWS for it. Cause I wrote him off when he didn’t really deserve it. So if you’re reading this TMWS, thank you.
So now I like all three equally. Although, there are times where I don’t care for him.
I love how close he is with his siblings.
Quotes I like:
“Do you know who I am!?”
“Why? Did you forget?”
“Something died on your head.”
“Bark like a dog and call me daddy.”
“Man if I had a nickel every time a girl asked me ‘what the hell is this thing?’”
...I gotta watch the episodes for more cause I know I have more.
So far for the reboot, he seems to act the same.
I’m gonna go back to this post to edit in the future. But for now, this is all I have to say.
Here are some pics of him that I like and will keep updating. Feel free to add more.

I like the pose in the first one. I like how his hat covers his face in the second one.

This is really nice. His face and how the scene plays out.
