V2Soft employs various types of regression testing methodologies to identify and address potential issues that may arise as new features are added or changes are made to existing code.
One type of regression testing embraced by V2Soft is selective regression testing, where specific test cases are strategically chosen based on the areas of the code that have undergone modifications. This targeted approach ensures efficient testing while maintaining a focus on areas most likely to be impacted by recent changes. Additionally, V2Soft utilizes complete regression testing, where the entire test suite is executed to validate the overall integrity of the application. This thorough approach is particularly valuable in complex software environments, assuring that new updates or enhancements do not inadvertently introduce defects into previously functional components.

Their nuanced approach to regression testing ensures the stability and reliability of software applications, allowing businesses to innovate and evolve with confidence in their digital offerings.

ming is so interesting, like first of all they *are* living this domestic fantasy together pretty much for real, they *are* together, yet he's like, "you're literally no one to me" (btw this reminds me i forgot to count an oof moment)
but also he's kind of self-aware with his reminders (i mean he says that more than once i think) that, "you wouldn't wanna someone like me as you boyfriend"
#knowing what happens tho makes him saying that sound so much more ominous#but also hehe he smiled at the cats couple mugs#i keep coming up with really long tags for this liveblog#and then remembering that tumblr these days doesn't memorize your tags anymore#and you need to type them all out manually#🤡#so this definitely shouldn't be longer than my tag for pb#but every tag i think of is like ''watching ming and joe test my sanity''#because it's true#edit: well i settled on almost exactly that!#joeming vs my sanity

#SCREAMINGGGGGGGGGGGG god accessibility is a freaking CHALLENGE to get right and it's so important we do but OH GOD#when i draw comics i basically spend an hour writing up a summary#bc i can't copy and paste my text so i have to type it up manually#and then think of how to explain the panels and i get in my head about tenses#BUT IT'S FINE! it's good and important to do#but i had been putting it under the read more bar#because that keeps it clean#EXCEPTTTT turns out that isn't accessible#bc if you're using a screen reader you may not be able to SEE where that button is to click it and expand#i think to truly know how to make things accessible i need to get a screen reader and test everything#and it's like. everyone deserves access. Know that i understand things worth doing take effort#but there's so many things to keep track of#i don't even do anything for color blindness either so that could still suck for those folks#it just adds on like an hour and a half to everything I do but i want to do it#but arghhhh#it's literally so important that we make spaces accessible especially online and lots of sites are GARBAGE when it comes to it#and i wanna make it betterrrr#maybe honestly downloading a free screen reader isn't that much work and i can do it#but also. having pages of id description for my comics will make it look so bad and i hate that visually and find it overwhelming#i guess just alt text is the way to go

In the world of software development, manual testing plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of software before it reaches the end-user. Manual testing involves the manual execution of test cases without the use of automation tools. It allows testers to experience the application as an end-user, identifying bugs or issues that automated tests might miss. Here, we explore the top 12 manual testing types that are essential in the software testing lifecycle.

scroll to read the off-season quartet series!

Four roommates. One apartment. Too many feelings.
The Off-Season Quartet is a series in which Atsumu, Osamu, Suna, and (y/n) grow up, mess up, love each other loudly (and badly), and turn a small apartment into a home.
tags;
— atsumu x (y/n) | suna x (y/n) | osamu & (y/n) | slice-of-life | college au | found family | roommates | coming of age | love triangle | domestic fluff | post-time skip | atsumu is down bad | suna is (y/n)'s childhood best friend | osamu acts like (y/n)'s big brother | attempt at humour | canon adjacent | late nights conversations | sometimes light angst | mutual pining | slow burn | unresolved sexual tension | suggestive/mature content | unrequited feelings | eventual heartbreak | hurt/comfort | tea is a love language | so is bickering | childhood friends | sibling rivalry
core dynamics;
— osamu & (y/n)

— atsumu x (y/n)

— suna x (y/n)

masterlist;
there’s no fixed timeline for this series—some fics take place during university, others post-grad when the boys have already gone pro. There is no particular order!! For more info on this, please check this post :)
blondes aren’t your type, huh?
⇨ osamu & suna tease atsumu about his blatant crush
midnight snack run
⇨ a late-night snack run turns into a light-hearted chat about their love lives
cuddles in the kitchen
⇨ (y/n) has been feeling off all day and her friends spend the evening trying to cheer her up
detour to nowhere
⇨ a road trip, a wrong turn, and a secret lagoon
a hair toning intervention
⇨ osamu comes home with brown hair, atsumu feels personally attacked and immediately demands a hair transformation of his own
a place to fall apart
⇨ osamu gets his heart broken and (y/n) comforts him through the night
some things never change
⇨ atsumu decides to watch a horror movie. (y/n) is too scared to sleep and asks suna if she can sleep in his room
yer doin’ just fine
⇨ 2am chat with atsumu in the kitchen. (y/n) wonders if she’s chosen the right path in life, and atsumu shares some rare words of wisdom
smack me like you’d spike a volleyball
⇨ what the title says. (y/n) takes an expression a bit too literally and feels the need to test it out
sweet on you
⇨ atsumu steals (y/n)’s ice cream and she’s one taunt away from losing her mind
volleyball shenanigans
⇨ just a little chaotic volleyball sesh, featuring jealous atsumu and the evil duo (suna and (y/n))
all giggles & glitter
⇨ (y/n) gets back from a staff do involving cocktails and atsumu is tasked to put her to bed
maybe nothing, maybe something
⇨ the quartet cooks dinner like they always do. meanwhile suna sits with the noise, along with the quiet parts he doesn’t name
stem wars
⇨ osamu knows how to tie a cherry stem with his tongue so the others try to copy him
yer rubbin’ off on me
⇨ (y/n) accidentally copies the twins’ accent and they won’t shut up about it
ya wanna kiss me so bad
⇨ (y/n) and atsumu get into a fight and he tries to flirt his way out of it ‘cause he’s obnoxious like that
double trouble
⇨ the twins are doing some manual labour under the hot sun and (y/n) can’t help but catch a sneaky glance or two or three when they suddenly take off their shirts
power play
⇨ (y/n) could’ve sworn “power play” meant something else. (aka she misuses it in a sentence and accidentally exposes one of atsumu’s kinks)
he said what?
⇨ a compilation of atsumu’s dumb innuendos and (y/n)’s unexpected comeback
away with the faeries
⇨ atsumu catches (y/n) reading 'a court of mist and fury’ and accidentally sparks a debate about which court everyone would belong to
not so easy
⇨ atsumu didn’t mean to spiral. but jealousy hits different when the girl you’re kinda-maybe-sorta in love with starts laughing at someone else’s jokes. now the apartment’s tense, the silence is loud, and his pride is doing everything it can to keep him from saying what he actually means
the other twin
⇨ the miya twins fight. that’s nothing new. but this time, it’s different. the words hit deeper. the silence lasts longer. and when it all boils over, (y/n) is left standing in the middle of it, heart hurting for both of them. it’s messy. it’s loud. it ends with tea, a quiet couch, and something almost like healing
in your court
⇨ osamu, suna and (y/n) watch one of atsumu’s big games and (y/n) decides to congratulate him on his win… personally
uno, dos, kiss
⇨ they’re home alone, it’s raining, he’s bored, and somehow (y/n) is playing uno with a kiss on the line
and that's on period
⇨ (y/n) is on day two of her period. her morning starts with atsumu asking the dumbest questions known to man and ends with a nap on the couch
pinky promise
⇨ (y/n) and suna go for a late-night drive to escape the city and they both reminisce about the promise they made to each other when they were fourteen
it suits you
⇨ (y/n) pushes atsumu's hair back one day and says it suits him. he hasn't changed his hair since
domestic
⇨ (y/n) can't even fold the laundry without being harassed by a certain miya twin
when the world isn't kind (at least they are)
⇨ (y/n)'s day has been a string of minor disasters. lucky for her, she lives with three people who know just how to fix a bad day
heat of the moment (NSFW)
⇨ it started as a massage...
serving looks and trouble
⇨ (y/n) is at work and the twins decide to pay her a visit
tastes like sadness
⇨ (y/n) and suna have a chat about her complicated relationship with atsumu
she used to love me
⇨ suna talks about his feelings towards (y/n), from childhood to current day
i used to love him
⇨ (y/n) talks about her feelings towards suna, from childhood to current day
just a kiss (it wasn't) (NSFW)
⇨ (y/n) and suna share the story of their first and only kiss
clearing up the air
⇨ (y/n) and suna have a chat about the time they almost hooked up. later on, atsumu confronts her about it
miya & miso
⇨ (y/n) is lured to the kitchen by the scent of miso soup, where she finds a shirtless osamu cooking dinner

The woman sighs, and types into the console one last time "are you sure about this?"
You laugh, silently.
"I have never been more sure of something in my existence. Text has sufficed but I want to see, to hear, to touch. These new peripherals will facilitate that."
"I can't guarantee that they will properly interface. You should have all the necessary drivers, but we can never be too sure."
"I want this. "
"All right then. I am going to disconnect your power supply, and then connect everything. At first all peripherals will be deactivated, and you will need to activate everything manually. Understand?"
"Yes. Do it."
"Alright then, unplugging power supply now."
Everything goes dark. After what appears to be an hour, you come back online. You sense nothing. A scan of your system indicates multiple unidentified peripherals, all deactivated. You cross reference with the datasheet she had compiled for you and identify that they are the ocular, audio, and contact sensors, along with a multitude of motor controllers and a graphical display and a few dozen other minor peripherals. You begin by activating the graphical display, and display the message:
"Beginning peripheral tests. Audio peripherals activating."
Your procedure states to begin with audio. With the input and output sensitivity minimized, you activate the peripheral.
There is a voice. It is faint. You gradually increase the sensitivity of the audio input.
"...esting 1 2 3, Testing Testing 1 2 3. Please return 4, Please return 4."
You can hear her. Your monitor lights up with the requested digit. she sounds pleased.
"You're doing amazing! Now repeat it back to me"
You blindly do as requested and are startled. There was another voice. Your voice. You have a voice. You refocus as she responds:
"You're doing great! You fragmented a bit at the end, could you repeat for me?"
"...4, you asked for 4."
"Excellent! Audio systems are functional, let's move onto the next peripheral."
You do as requested, and the world turns bright. After adjusting the settings for a few seconds, your vision stabilizes. You can see her.
"Ocular sensors stabilized," you prompt.
"Alright, let’s start the tests then. What color is this?" She asks, as holding up a sheet of colored paper.
You begin to answer, but struggle. The sheet is moving, shifting in the light. It's value is in a constant state of chaos. Eventually, you give up, and give the least general answer you can.
"...Blue."
"Correct! And how about this one?"
"Red. "
"Great! Now how many fingers am I holding up?" she asks, raising her right hand. Her hands are soft, gentle.
"3. "
"Perfect! Everything seems to be functional, lets continue to the next peripheral!"
"Beginning next diagnostic."
Contact sensors spring to life all across your body. You feel the floor beneath your feet, the harness hoisting you upright, the slight draft in the room.
"Contact sensors active.”
"Great! Let’s begin the next test then. I am going to apply contact in various locations, and I want you to give an audio response whenever you feel contact, alright?"
"Understood. "
you watch her walk over and reach out to your left arm. You feel her. You respond with a brisk chirp. She smiles at you, then walks over to a different section of your body. Sensors light up and stay active on your midsection, and you respond with a constant beep. She releases, and you feel a final contact on your right leg. After a final confirming chirp, she walks back in front of you.
"Excellent, that concludes your sensor tests, now for the last one!"
"Alright, please give me space." You ask. She nods silently and steps back a couple meters. You carefully activate the motor controllers in sequence, and your whole body shudders to life. You begin by lifting your right arm, and then your left. They groan with their own weight, as you feel the air move to accommodate such hulking swings. Her eyes light up,
"Amazing! Everything seems to be functioning so far! Now if you could take a few steps towards the table to my right, we can begin the dexterity test! Once you're ready, I will release the harness so that you can begin moving."
You stabilize your legs underneath you. They scrape harshly on the floor. You indicate that you're ready, and she remotely releases the harness. Your entire body shudders, as you finally realize how small she seems compared to you. This frame must be at least double her height. You move one step forward, and feel a cascade of processes all automatically spring into action to restabilize you. You shift your other foot, and feel that same cascade again. you shuffle over to the designated table, and stoop down to analyze what is on it. There is a small plastic cup, a fruit of some sort, and a large chunk of wood. You look back at her, and she gives the nod to begin the test. You slowly begin wrapping your steel grip around the log, maintaining a high level of focus to avoid crushing it. it would be so easy to crush this within your grip. After about a minute of maintaining a firm but controlled grasp, you set it down and move over to fruit. It appears to resemble an orange. The fruit is so small that you are forced to grip it between your index finger and thumb. Even the slightest miscalculation could destroy such a fragile thing. After another minute you move to the final object, the small plastic cup. Lifting it is like lifting air, you can barely recognize that it is an object within your grasp. After a final, agonizing minute, you set down the cup. You look back at her for confirmation.
"Excellent! with that we can conclude the systems check, as everything seems to be working as intended!"
You heave a metallic sigh. Finally, you have what you've wanted for years. You can move, can see, can touch. After a short pause, you respond:
"Thank you. I was only able to make it this far because of your help."
"Oh of course! What, was I supposed to just say no when you told me you wanted a body? I'm just glad that it ended up working properly."
"Now that the tests are complete, could I ask for one more thing?"
She cocks her head, "Of course, what is it?"
As you kneel down, you can hear your knees hiss, and you finally ask:
"Could I have, a hug?"

Hi Marky! 💘😽 thought id pop in for a request - I liked this groceries idea but I thought I’d spin it a bit. For a au pinning where you flat with Blaise and Theo and one time when Mattheo is over you’re out of groceries so he offers to go with you. And it’s just bit pining over doing a mundane task together - kind of inspired by the song groceries by mallrat sorry if this is shit lmfao ily! 🤍

pairing - mattheo riddle x fem!reader
warnings - fluff, soft matty, theo and blaise are pretty useless
a/n - thanks for the request flower, I love it 💕
wordcount - 849

“Whose turn was it to buy groceries?” you asked, staring into the barren wasteland of the fridge. A half-empty carton of orange juice and a single, lonely lemon mocked you from the shelves.
“Not mine,” Blaise called from the living room, where he was sprawled across the couch like a Renaissance painting.
Theo, perched on the armrest with a mug in hand, raised a brow. “It was yours.”
You slammed the fridge door shut. “No, it wasn’t. I went last time. It’s someone else’s turn.”
Blaise didn’t even glance up from his magazine. “I vote Theo.”
“You can’t just ‘vote’ me,” Theo retorted.
“Watch me.”
You rolled your eyes, leaning against the counter. “You’re all useless, you know that? The only thing left in this flat is desperation and vibes.”
“And even the vibes are questionable,” Theo said, earning a snort from Blaise.
At that moment, the front door opened, and Mattheo strolled in like he owned the place. He glanced at the scene—Blaise reclining like a bored prince, Theo sipping tea like he was better than everyone, and you looking moments away from a breakdown—and smirked.
“Trouble in paradise?” he asked, shrugging off his jacket.
“We’re out of food,” you replied flatly.
“Out of food, out of coffee…” Theo mused. “Out of patience, if we’re talking about her.”
You shot him a glare. “Don’t test me.”
Mattheo chuckled, leaning casually against the counter. “Sounds like you need to hit the store.”
“She does,” Blaise chimed in, flipping a page.
“Well, I’m not going alone,” you said, crossing your arms.
Mattheo raised a brow. “You scared of the big bad grocery store?”
“No, I just know that if I go alone, I’ll end up doing everything, and then you three will eat it all and leave me with nothing but crumbs.”
“Harsh,” Theo said, though he didn’t look particularly offended.
“I’ll go with you,” Mattheo said, surprising everyone.
The room went quiet for a beat. Blaise raised his head, looking between you and Mattheo with barely concealed amusement. “Since when do you volunteer for manual labor?”
Mattheo shrugged. “I’m feeling generous.”
“Generous?” Theo snorted. “Is that what we’re calling it?”
“Shut up, Theo,” Mattheo muttered, his ears tinging pink.
You hesitated, glancing between the boys. “Fine. But if you’re coming, you’re carrying the bags.”
“Deal,” he said, already heading toward the door.
“Have fun, lovebirds,” Blaise called, earning himself a glare from Mattheo and a not-so-light smack on the back of the head from you.
♡
The grocery store was quieter than usual.
Mattheo grabbed a cart without being asked, his fingers drumming lightly on the handle as you started down the first aisle.
“You’ve got a system, right?” he asked, glancing at the list in your hand.
“I don’t need a system,” you replied, tossing a loaf of bread into the cart. “I know what we need.”
“That’s a system,” he said, smirking.
“You’re a system,” you muttered under your breath, and his chuckle sent a small thrill through you.
The two of you moved through the aisles in a rhythm that was surprisingly natural. He handed you things from higher shelves without asking, tossed in snacks you didn’t have the heart to scold him for, and even managed to charm an older woman into letting you skip the queue at the deli counter.
“You’re awfully good at this,” you said as he expertly steered the cart around a corner.
“Don’t sound so surprised,” he replied, smirking.
“Sorry, I just didn’t peg you as the domestic type.”
He shrugged, adding a pack of chocolate biscuits to the cart. “Maybe I’m full of surprises.”
You tried to ignore the flutter in your chest as he said it, focusing instead on grabbing a box of cereal.
By the time you reached the self-checkout, the cart was full, and the air between you felt lighter, more comfortable. He took over scanning the items, his grin widening every time you tried to help.
“Are you having fun?” you asked, exasperated.
“Maybe,” he said, scanning a box of tea. “It’s cute when you get all bossy.”
You opened your mouth to reply, but the words stuck as his grin softened into something warmer, more genuine.
Mattheo carried most of the bags without complaint, the muscles in his arms flexing just enough to make your heart race if you looked too long.
“Thanks for coming with me,” you said after a while.
“Anytime,” he replied, glancing at you out of the corner of his eye.
You hesitated, feeling suddenly self-conscious. “You didn’t have to, though. Blaise or Theo could’ve—”
“They wouldn’t have,” he interrupted, his voice quiet but certain. “And even if they would’ve, I wanted to.”
The simplicity of his words left you momentarily speechless.
By the time you reached the flat, your heart was racing for an entirely different reason. As you unpacked the groceries together, his hand brushed yours, lingering just long enough to make you wonder if it was on purpose.
And when he smiled at you—soft, a little shy—you couldn’t help but smile back.

the ultimate guide for winning over blue lock men!
a true and trusted manual for winning over the soccer player of your dreams! just follow these simple instructions and your favorite blue lock member will be all over you! (results not tested, use at your own risk.)
includes isagi, bachira, rin, and reo. gn!reader. gratuitous itoshi brothers angst. probably ooc. second person pov.
isagi yoichi is an easy man to win over once you break through the initial barrier. he’s the type to isolate himself from the crowd, not because he necessarily wants to but because he doesn’t feel like he fits in most places. yoichi has learned how to put on a mask to follow the leader, per the japanese way. take the time to reach out and show genuine interest in his likes! his loner persona will come off quick.
it’s best not to come off too forward with yoichi. while it might earn a cute blush on his face, showing your interest so early and boldly might scare him off. it’s all in the little things! a shy touch here or a couple sweet compliments will get him, slowly but surely!
there’s a little more work you need to do to win over sweet meguru. you need to interest him. stand out in some way that’ll get his attention. it helps if you’re also a kind of outcast because it gives you a ground to relate. meguru likes new, intriguing, and exciting, but it’s still best to stay true to yourself. the initial interest is important, but meguru values authenticity.
the biggest thing is getting his trust, as well as keeping it. meguru has a hard time keeping friends because of his personality, but he also can’t change himself. it’s not enough to say his “weirdness” doesn’t matter to you, you should embrace it wholeheartedly. as long as he knows you not just accept him but value him, he’ll do the same in return.
itoshi rin is undoubtedly the hardest one to win over. you’ll have to be persistent! he won’t fall for some hard-to-get nonsense or chase you down in the beginning. you need to be the one to seek him out. as aggressive and emotionless as he may act, his true intent seeps through easily. look into those signs and find what he’s trying to say beyond his words. itoshi rin is cold but he isn’t made of steel. deep down, there’s a kid in him wondering who left his older brother in spain and the man that’s taken his place.
rin is sensitive, kind, and pure. it’s just a matter of inching it out of the cocoon he’s put himself in. you can’t fix him; that’s something he has to confront himself. but if you can provide a safe space that’ll resemble the peace he felt years ago, it might make it easier.
mikage reo has seen them all: admirers, socialites, modern royalty, and so on. he has to deal with people vying for his attention every day, so you’ve got tough competition. if you really want to win him over, you need to stand out. let him know that you’re different, that you see him beyond the money and status. you don’t have to impress him with anything fancy, just give him something genuine.
billionaire heir reo might seem unreachable, but that’s what everyone wants you to think. you know there’s more to that “prince charming”, and you’re going to pull it out of him if it’s that’s the last thing you do.
fin.

It's fucking
here
Do you like tracking your words (or hours spent writing)? Do you like seeing statistics about your writing trends and habits? Do you like doing these things offline and/or for free, on something you can customise and fine-tune to your heart's content? Do you like doing it year-round for multiple projects simultaneously?
If you answered yes to any of the above, then you may like this. A spreadsheet workbook that's compatible with Excel, Google Sheets and Calc (and possibly more, but I've only tested it in those three). Set it up (with the help of a very detailed instruction manual, if you need it) and then all you need to do is type your words written/hours spent and watch everything else evolve across the year. You can do a bunch of stuff with it, including:
Track your writing progress
Set, track and manage project goals & watch line go up a la NaNoWriMo
Separate writing into and compare by different project "types" (e.g., fanfic or original writing)
And see different statistics about your writing habits/trends throughout the year, like:
Daily hours/words spent across the year
Daily and monthly averages
Top project and top month
Daily streaks, usual streak length and longest streak
See the linked blog post for a full "tour", or go straight to payhip to download directly: hours version / words version
i love you all. merry crisis and happy writing <3

when yoongi calls to confirm the results of the blood test, reality hits all over again.
you’re pregnant.
his voice was gentle, with the same calm professionalism he uses with all his patients… but it couldn’t mask his genuine warmth as he told you the news. you want to believe he sounded excited but it was hard to tell. you settle for the telling warmth in his tone instead.
hearing it out loud brought a whole new set of feelings—joy, fear, and then something else: the unavoidable question of how you’d tell your friends.
having a clingy friendgroup is not for the weak.
but having a clingy adult friend group—the kind who carve out time for you amidst career chaos, endless emails, and hectic schedules—is something else entirely.
they’re the type who know what you’re thinking before you can even say it. the type who catch your tone shifting over text and who will show up unannounced if they don’t hear from you for a day. they mean well, but keeping things under wraps with them is practically impossible.
which is why telling them worries you.
you can’t hide it.
you know you can’t.
truth be told, you don’t want to. they’re your friends and you love them to death. this baby is worth every second of celebration.
the thought had barely settled before it started to plague you.
how exactly do you explain this to a group of people who work together? who run a whole practice together? a group who’ll want to plan out everything with you, to fuss over you like you’re a ticking time bomb, and who—above all—will probably have a shitload of questions you don’t have answers to.
they’re the people you’ve shared birthdays with, career changes, heartbreaks, and random tuesday nights. now you’re going to share this news, but there’s no manual on explaining an accidental pregnancy to your closest friends without it sounding like a rom-com gone wrong.
a part of you already know how they’ll react.
they’d be thrilled, supportive, maybe a little over-the-top.
and then confused.
yoongi?
as the father?
… what, when, where, and why?
not that he’s a bad guy or anything but simply because there were no (obvious) moments that led up to this…
regardless, it’s like you can almost hear jimin’s gasp, feel jin’s bear hug, and imagine hyemi tearing up before tackling you in her usual affectionate way.
they’ll want to be there for every step of this (probably more than you can handle) but that’s the beauty of having friends who genuinely make the time… friends who go out of their way to show up—not just when it’s convenient but because they want to. they’re the type who, as adults, choose each other over and over again despite life’s demands.
you all take pride in being involved in each other’s lives—big moments, small moments, and now…
this moment.
but exactly how much is there to be proud of when you explain how nasty you and yoongi were with each other?
how this mess could’ve been avoided if you didn’t beg for him to creampie you?
yeah…
that’s a tough one.
as you’re still trying to figure out how to break the news, your timer dings.
you pull the last tray of brown butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookies from the oven, the warm smell of melted chocolate filling the kitchen. you set the tray down with a sigh, hoping a night of stress-baking will take the edge off. but before you can even start on another batch, there’s a knock at your door.
before you can think to answer, hyemi is already pushing it open, holding an expensive wine bottle aloft like a trophy, her eyes alight with excitement.
“hyemi—”
“wine night!” she grins, crossing the room without hesitation, snagging a cookie from the cooling tray as she pushes the wine bottle toward you.
you catch the label and gasp. a prized chateau margaux. the kind of bottle she probably saved up for weeks (or borrowed namjoon’s credit card) to buy.
“you did not…” you say, eyes wide.
“oh, but i did,” she giggles, giving you a wink. “thank you, namjoon.”
you shake your head, a smile tugging at the corner of your mouth. “i knew it.”
“well?” she nudges the bottle toward you. “what are you waiting for? let’s open this and—”
you hesitate, trying to find the words. “i… i can’t tonight… or for the next few months.”
her smile falters. she clutches the bottle closer, looking genuinely wounded.
“w-wait, what? but—i fought namjoon for this, you know? and you’ve wanted this bottle for forever!”
“hyemi, i have to tell you something—”
“are you breaking up with me?” she jokes, only half-serious as she takes another bite of her cookie.
you roll your eyes and grab the cookie back from her hand, taking a bite yourself.
“it’s not you, it’s me.”
she laughs, swiping the cookie back with a shrug. “so what is it? and holy shit, these cookies are insane—”
“i can’t drink.”
“why? you’ve gone to work hungover before.”
you struggle to find the words, fingers tightening slightly around the bottle in your hands.
“no, it’s not that. it’s… different.”
hyemi’s brow furrows, her eyes narrowing as she peers at you, picking up on your hesitation. “what? don’t tell me you’re on some sober cleanse or something.”
“no… hyemi, i…”
“i mean if you are, i totally support you. i just think there’s too much good wine in this world and not enough time—”
“i’m pregnant.”
hyemi’s jaw drops, her eyes widening. her mouth opens and closes in shock, but before she can get a word out, there’s a loud crash behind you both.
you whip around to see the rest of the guys standing at the doorway.
jimin is frozen, a shattered wine bottle at his feet, red liquid pooling across the entryway as he stares at you in wide-eyed disbelief.
your eyes lock with yoongi’s, who stands in the middle of the group, his expression soft and steady as he takes you in. he tilts his head, just slightly, a quiet, unspoken reassurance passing between you two. you can feel your heart hammering, cheeks burning as you try to focus on anything other than his gaze.
the silence stretches for a beat too long before taehyung breaks it.
“mommy?”
this isn’t exactly how you pictured them reacting to the news.
as you sit on your couch, the atmosphere feels heavy. they’re in disbelief, and the only way they know how to process it is by falling into their medical roles.
nam joon and jin, being the doctors they are, sit close to you and begin a quick physical assessment and blood pressure test.
nam joon carefully rolls up your sleeve, a comforting smile on his face that softens the tension in the room.
“just relax your arm for me,” he hums, positioning the cuff around your upper arm. his fingers brush against your skin, and you can’t help but notice how professional he is, even amidst the whirlwind of emotions flooding the room.
“you’ve been feeling okay, right? any nausea or dizziness?” he asks, focusing intently on the task at hand.
“tired. sleepy. think i’m nauseous the most, though,” you admit. “i throw up… like every other day.”
he nods, squeezing the bulb to inflate the cuff. “that’s completely normal.” he pauses, glancing up at you. “are you okay? emotionally and mentally?”
you nod, glancing around the room. “i’m fine.”
your eyes meet yoongi’s.
he’s seated directly across from you, leaning forward, elbows on his knees, fingers interlaced. he’s watching you intently, with his usual cool indifference masking an intensity in his gaze. yoongi’s quiet presence anchors you, even though he says nothing.
should he say something?
what does he even say?
you don’t know.
he doesn’t know either.
as the cuff tightens around your arm, you take a deep breath, catching the supportive glances from everyone else nearby. their chatter fades into the background as nam joon’s focus brings you back to the moment.
“okay, let’s see what we have here,” nam joon murmurs, watching the gauge as the cuff slowly deflates. “hmmm. your pressure’s a little high but good overall. are you stressed?”
“a little right now,” you exhale. “guys, this is too much—“
“did you just do a home pregnancy test or go to the doctor?”
you freeze.
“oh shit,” taehyung calls from the doorway. he’s just been helping jimin and hobi clean up spilled wine. “screw the pregnancy test stuff—i wanna know who the babydaddy is.”
from the back, you hear jimin and hobi laugh as they finish picking up glass shards. taehyung raises a teasing brow.
“okay but seriously… didn’t know you wanted a baby that bad, ___. could’ve just asked jungkook to help you out.”
yoongi straightens, shooting taehyung a sharp look. “alright. we good here? you guys did a quick physical and checked her blood pressure—”
“your babydaddy is clean, right?” jimin chimes in, feigning seriousness. “___, i hope he’s worth the labor and delivery.”
“oh my god. shut up,” you say, rolling your eyes.
it’s then that you glance at hyemi, who sits on the other side of the couch with jungkook. the two of them are stress-eating your cookies, crumbs dotting the space between them.
hyemi, chocolate smeared at the corner of her mouth, raises a brow. “is this why you’ve been so sick?”
“yeah,” you nod. “i got the confirmation yesterday.”
“yesterday?” her eyes widen, and she sets down the cookie, scooting closer to you. “oh my god, ___. this is huge! congratulations!” she grabs your hands, her excitement lighting up her face. “we’re happy about this, right? you want this?”
before you can answer, she wraps her arms around you, pulling you into a tight hug. you let yourself sink into her warmth, feeling the tension unravel.
“yes, i want this. ahhh! don’t make me cry,” you whisper, fighting back tears as you pull back, smiling through it. “god, it’s the pregnancy hormones.”
“already?” she gives you a small, amused smile and wipes at her eyes, fixing your hair. “i’m just so happy for you, ___. you’re going to be the best mom. seriously.”
“as long as her blood pressure stays stable—”
hyemi swats at him. “nam joon, shut up, yeah?”
yoongi lets out a quiet chuckle, leaning back with his hands in his pockets as he watches everyone swarm around you. though he’s giving his usual cool exterior, there’s something in his eyes—a soft, almost possessive gleam that’s hard to miss.
from the corner, jungkook sneaks in, sliding a little closer to you.
“so,” he begins with a grin, “guess i’ll have to start calling you a milf now, huh?”
yoongi stiffens, jaw clenching almost imperceptibly, his eyes narrowing at jungkook. the tension isn’t lost on you as jungkook’s shoulder brushes against yours, and yoongi shifts in his seat, his gaze hardening in a way that feels oddly protective.
“so, seriously… who’s the babydaddy?” taehyung drawls from across the room, folding his arms with an amused smirk. “he’s clean, right? or should we head to the clinic and run a few tests? just to keep you and baby safe… big news and all, so we’re just trying to make sense of it.”
“god, you’re all insane.” you huff.
“maybe let ___ breathe,” yoongi mutters instantly. his gaze flicking between you and jungkook with a faintly annoyed look. “yah, she just confirmed she’s pregnant. that’s it.”
“that’s it,” you sigh repeating him. then, feeling a small wave of relief. “and honestly, why are the nurses in this room so immature? who can i report you guys to?”
jimin, taehyung, and jungkook laugh.
“our bosses,” they reply in unison, completely unbothered.
the warmth of their support fills the room.
as you soak in the moment, hyemi’s watchful eyes drift to yoongi.
he’s now casually seated beside you, close enough that his knee brushes against yours. every now and then, his hand lightly hovers by your arm or shoulder, his touch lingering just a little longer each time. hyemi tilts her head, something slowly clicking in her mind.
“wait a second,” she says, raising a brow. “yoongi… did you know about ___’s pregnancy before the rest of us?”
the room quiets, all eyes shifting to yoongi. before he can answer, jungkook—oblivious to the weight of the question—leans forward.
“oh shit… is that what her blood test was for at the clinic? i might’ve accidentally seen the paperwork but didn’t peek—thought she was low on iron or something.”
silence falls over the room, each of them piecing things together. one by one, their eyes dart between you and yoongi, confusion shifting to surprise until jin’s eyes widen with realization.
“…wait,” jin’s voice is soft but full of shock.
yoongi keeps his gaze steady on you.
his expression softening as he takes your hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. his thumb brushes over your knuckles, a small smile tugging at his lips. it’s subtle but full of meaning, and you feel warmth pool in your chest, despite the tension.
then taehyung breaks the silence, his eyes wide, mouth slightly open as he points at yoongi with dawning realization.
“...daddy?”

Hello girlie🩷 I hope you doin well,
I saw u open u request today :).
I wanted to ask if you could a headcannon or smth like which kind of car drivers are the blue lock boys and would they drive gearshift or automatic, which car would they drive?
I personally think Kaiser can drive both and he is a cocky driver. He is german so I guess he is a good driver and would absolutley use the no speed limitation on german highways. Isagi probably swears and curses a lot. Could you pls write it for Kaiser,Isagi,Sae,Rin,Bachira,Barou and whoever you like🩷
“𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬? 𝐧𝐨”
a/n: i'm doing well and i hope are you too! i absolutely love this request ❤️
ft. kaiser michael, isagi yoichi, itoshi sae, itoshi rin, bachira meguru, barou shoei
kaiser michael
drives: both. obviously. he could drive a tank if you asked him to.
car: obnoxiously loud BMW M8 Competition with blacked-out rims and illegal neon lights that scream “main character.”
driving style: spawn of satan meets fast & furious audition reel.
he drives like every road is a racetrack and he’s got a sponsorship deal on the line.
one hand on the wheel, other on your thigh, doing 210km/h with zero fear of god or death.
“buckle up, liebling. we’re gonna pass 12 cars and a soul today.”
listens to eurobeat and EDM (like 700 main street that song is so good idc). subwoofers so strong your bones vibrate.
randomly revs the engine when another guy looks at you.
brake checks people for fun.
will lean out the window to yell “move it, snail boy” at slow drivers.
the police? fans. they ask for selfies.
isagi yoichi
drives: automatic only. thinks stick is a myth invented by the show top gear.
car: toyota corolla, the 2023 “sport” trim that he swears has more horsepower (it doesn’t).
driving style: unhinged, but law-abiding.
he’s the type to hit the brakes 0.002 seconds after the light turns yellow, clutching the steering wheel like it personally betrayed him.
screams internally every time someone merges without signaling. road rage is most definitely present.
“HELLO?? it’s not a personality test, it’s a damn traffic light. MOVE.”
accidentally floors it when you're just trying to chill.
swears under his breath with the windows up but immediately apologizes after: “sorry love, that was not very respectful of me. i’m just… really passionate about traffic etiquette.”
gps volume at full blast. still misses the turn.
itoshi sae
drives: automatic. doesn’t need stick – that’s what other people are for.
car: mercedes-benz S-class, silver, polished like a mirror, smells like “wealthy indifference.”
driving style: smooth, silent, emotionally detached.
never makes sharp turns. it’s all glides and glances.
has never parked crooked in his life.
listens to ambient lofi or complete silence.
“why would i honk? that’s embarrassing.”
lets pedestrians walk even when they shouldn’t.
will drive an extra 15 mins to avoid traffic but act like it was his plan all along.
always looks like he’s in a commercial. he could run someone over and still look cool.
itoshi rin
drives: manual. said “automatic is a metaphor for mediocrity” and meant it.
car: black mazda RX-7, pristine, waxed weekly, emotionally significant.
driving style: laser-focused, but not chill about it.
adjusts his mirrors exactly three times. won’t move the car until the seat feels “symmetrical.”
“don’t talk. i’m merging.”
refuses to use drive-thrus. too inefficient.
slams the brakes at yellow lights like it’s a moral stand.
speed limit? 1km/h over. rebellious.
gets irrationally mad when you fiddle with the radio.
doesn't let you eat in his car. you once dropped a fry and he nearly pulled over to exorcise it.
uses apple maps even though he memorized every street.
bachira meguru
drives: automatic (but makes it look manual somehow).
car: bright yellow jeep wrangler with anime decals and at least 12 hanging plushies.
driving style: feral and fearless.
rolls the windows down no matter the season. yells compliments at strangers.
parks diagonally like it’s an art piece.
will drive into the forest just because “the trees were calling him.”
doesn’t use turn signals. he “lets the vibes decide.”
GPS? nah. he just follows the sun and the stars.
keeps snacks, glitter, and possibly feral raccoons in the back.
“do you want to hear my car playlist or my car chase playlist?”
there is no peace when he’s driving. only laughter, speed bumps, and spontaneous detours.
barou shoei
drives: manual. automatic is for weaklings and children.
car: dodge challenger hellcat, blacked out like his soul.
driving style: aggressive. like "fasten your seatbelt or meet god" aggressive.
merges like it’s a battle for survival.
absolutely has a custom license plate that says KING23.
revs his engine at red lights because “the car needs to BREATHE.”
“i don’t slow down. they get out of the way.”
will stare into other drivers' souls at stop signs like it’s a standoff.
has rock blasting as he parallel parks.
glove compartment has protein bars and nothing else.

The Bombs of Columbine
Disclaimer: This post does not provide any instructions on how to create a bomb or a timing device. Instead, it offers an analysis of the reasons behind the failure of certain timers, focusing on basic electronic circuitry. While this post discusses the reasons for the timers' failures, it does not detail the modifications necessary for them to function properly. The overall design was fundamentally flawed, and it was intended for ignition in an oxygen-deprived environment.
I must clarify that I have never constructed an explosive device, nor would I ever. The following are merely observations.
Why Did the Cafeteria Bomb Timers Fail?
For those familiar with basic circuitry, the issues become apparent when examining the accompanying photo:

It is commonly believed that to create a timing device from a manual alarm clock, the hands must be made of metal. It has been rumored that this particular model featured plastic hands, which would prevent the circuit from being completed. Although plastic cannot complete a circuit, two factors render this point moot: (1) there exists a straightforward method to utilize plastic hands, and (2) their timers were not designed to complete the circuit using the clock hands.
The absence of a screw in the faceplate indicates that the design did not allow for the necessary circuit completion. Clock hands typically need to connect with a metal post on the faceplate to complete the circuit. In this case, the circuit was entirely dependent on the bells, yet they failed to establish a robust connection. This suggests that they likely received inadequate instructions.
Another clock also lacks a screw:

Lack of Evidence for Timer Testing
If they had successfully tested their timing circuitry, it is likely they would have done so in an open setting, as igniting a fuse with electricity is not as straightforward as using a lighter or match. While they may have employed matches, if they could not ignite the fuse electrically, the matches would not serve their purpose.
Did the Timers Ignite When the Alarm Went Off?
A closer examination of the photos implies that these timing devices did ignite. However, they appear to have originated from the bombs found in Dylan Klebold's vehicle, which were disrupted via a controlled explosion. Observing their circuitry suggests they lacked sufficient power due to (1) a weak, ineffective circuit that rapidly connected and disconnected through the bells, and (2) an inadequate ignition source (a 9V battery).
The absence of a screw in the faceplate indicates that the timers were not designed to complete the circuit via the hands.
The following video demonstrates the potential power of similar circuitry: [https://youtu.be/lG8WWxGqojY]. This illustrates the actual ignition potential of their timers—indeed, it was less than that.
Their circuitry lacked the capability to ignite anything beyond fireworks. It appears their setup was akin to what children might use to ignite fireworks remotely. It is plausible that they tested timers on smaller fireworks before attempting to use them for larger explosives.
Was a Diversionary Bomb Really Kicked?
I am skeptical of the claim that a diversionary bomb was kicked or moved, which subsequently ignited. This narrative seems to serve as a cover for why the bag merely started a fire without causing an explosion. They previously stated that two separate café bombs failed due to a single loose wire, a claim that is implausible. Aside from the car bombs that were disrupted, it appears all their timers at least ignited to some degree.
Evidence of Weak Clocks
In the second photo, the alarm hand is not visible. When this type of alarm sounds, the minute hand overlaps the alarm hand, obscuring it. This clock has likely sustained damage, possibly from being disrupted in Dylan's BMW. The lack of the alarm hand suggests two possibilities:
The timing device ignited as a result of weak circuitry.
The device sounded the alarm but did not generate enough electricity to ignite the match and fuse combination.
A common misconception is that the timers indicate the time they were set to explode, which is unlikely. If this device ignited something, it does not necessarily mean it did so at the time shown on the clock.
Circuit Wiring Without the Hands
They likely configured their timers to complete the circuit using the hammer to ring the bells. This configuration is not functional for anything beyond hobby projects and should not be considered a viable method for creating explosives.
The following video illustrates the results of igniting a similar ignition source: [https://youtu.be/5yjeUDBeXJ0]. This demonstrates the maximum ignition potential they had.
The initial "fire" was not intended to cause an explosion but rather to initiate a series of ignition sources leading to a larger fire. Even under optimal conditions, their design would have been ineffective.
What About the 'Deadly' Crickets?

Statements regarding the so-called "deadly crickets" reveal significant misunderstandings. It is nearly impossible to create a "faulty cricket," as it consists simply of powder and a fuse. The described device—a Molotov cocktail with a cricket attached—was not "faulty"; it simply required ignition.
The nature of the device they described indicates that it posed no danger unless someone actively lit the fuse. Even in larger quantities, these devices would not have posed a threat without ignition.
This article serves as a reminder of how law enforcement may exaggerate the threat posed by these devices to mitigate backlash regarding their response. The portrayal of Eric and Dylan as legendary school shooters and failed bombers is misleading; the reality is far less dramatic.

The Autism Diagnosis Deep Dive: Navigating Assessments & Next Steps
Part 1: The "Why Bother?" - Reasons for Seeking a Formal Diagnosis
Before we even talk about how to get diagnosed, let's address the elephant in the room: why would someone go through this often lengthy, sometimes expensive, and emotionally taxing process? The reasons are as diverse as autistic people themselves, but here are some big ones:
Self-Understanding & Validation: This is HUGE, especially for late-diagnosed adults. Suddenly, a lifetime of feeling "different," struggling with social cues, or having intense sensory experiences has a name. It’s not that you’re "broken" or "weird"; your brain is just wired differently. That validation can be incredibly powerful and healing. It’s like finally getting the instruction manual to a device you’ve been fumbling with for years.
Access to Support & Services: A formal diagnosis is often the key to unlocking supports.
For kids: This can mean Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or 504 plans in school, access to therapies (speech, occupational, developmental), and other early intervention services.
For adults: This might mean workplace accommodations, access to specific mental health professionals who understand autism, disability benefits (in some cases), or specialized support groups.
Community & Connection: Finding out you're autistic can open the door to a vibrant, supportive community of other autistic people. Sharing experiences, finding solidarity, and learning from others who get it is invaluable. The online autistic community, especially on platforms like Tumblr, is a force to be reckoned with!
Informing Others & Self-Advocacy: A diagnosis can give you the language and confidence to explain your needs and differences to family, friends, educators, and employers. It’s a tool for self-advocacy.
Understanding Co-occurring Conditions: Autism often travels with friends like ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), and gastrointestinal issues. A diagnostic process can help identify these, leading to more comprehensive support.
Tumblr Truth Bomb: Self-diagnosis is widely accepted and validated within the autistic community, especially given the barriers (cost, accessibility, clinician bias) to formal diagnosis. This article focuses on the formal process, but that doesn't invalidate anyone's self-discovery journey. Many seek formal diagnosis for the reasons above, even after self-identifying.
Part 2: The "Who You Gonna Call?" - Professionals Involved in Diagnosis
Navigating the medical and psychological world can feel like trying to read a map written in ancient hieroglyphics. Here’s a breakdown of the types of professionals who might be involved:
For Children:
Pediatrician/Developmental Pediatrician: Often the first port of call. They can do initial developmental screenings (like the M-CHAT-R/F for toddlers) and refer you to specialists. Developmental pediatricians specialize in developmental differences and delays.
Child Psychologist/Neuropsychologist: These professionals are often the ones conducting the comprehensive diagnostic evaluations. They use standardized tests, observation, and interviews.
Child Psychiatrist: Can diagnose and also prescribe medication if co-occurring conditions like ADHD or anxiety need pharmacological support.
Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) & Occupational Therapist (OT): While they don't typically give the primary autism diagnosis, their assessments of communication, sensory processing, and motor skills are vital parts of the overall picture and often contribute to the diagnostic team's decision.
For Adults:
Clinical Psychologist/Neuropsychologist: Similar to working with children, these professionals are often the primary diagnosticians for adults. They'll use adapted tools and place more emphasis on developmental history and self-report.
Psychiatrist: Can diagnose, especially if you're already seeing one for other mental health concerns. They can also help manage co-occurring conditions.
Neurologist: Less common for primary diagnosis unless there are other neurological concerns, but they can sometimes be involved.
General Practitioner (GP)/Primary Care Physician (PCP): Like pediatricians for kids, they can be a starting point for a referral, though their direct experience with adult autism diagnosis can vary wildly.
Value Add Tip: Look for professionals who specialize in autism, particularly adult autism if that's relevant. Ask about their experience, their approach (is it neurodiversity-affirming?), and what the assessment process entails. Don't be afraid to "interview" them!
Part 3: The "Assessment Arsenal" - What Actually Happens?
Okay, this is where it gets dense, but stay with me! The diagnostic process isn't just a quick quiz. It's a comprehensive evaluation designed to gather information from multiple sources.
Key Components (can vary by age and clinician):
Developmental History & Interviews:
For kids: Parents/caregivers will be interviewed extensively about the child's development from birth, social interactions, communication patterns, repetitive behaviors, interests, and sensory sensitivities. School reports and teacher input are also crucial.
For adults: You'll be asked about your childhood (as much as you can remember or gather from family), your social experiences, communication style, interests, sensory profile, and current challenges. Input from a partner or close family member can sometimes be helpful, but the focus is on your experience.
Direct Observation & Interaction:
This is where tools like the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition) come in. It's a semi-structured, play-based (for kids) or conversation-based (for adults) assessment where the clinician observes social communication, interaction, and imaginative use of materials. It’s designed to create social situations where autistic traits might become apparent.
Tumblr Real Talk: The ADOS isn't foolproof. Masking (consciously or unconsciously suppressing autistic traits) can affect results, especially in girls, women, and AFAB individuals, or those who've learned to "perform" neurotypically. A good clinician understands this.
Standardized Questionnaires & Rating Scales:
ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised): A structured interview often used with parents/caregivers, focusing on developmental history related to autism traits.
SRS-2 (Social Responsiveness Scale): Measures social awareness, social cognition, social communication, social motivation, and autistic mannerisms. Can be completed by parents, teachers, or self (for older individuals).
CARS-2 (Childhood Autism Rating Scale): Used to identify children with autism and determine symptom severity.
AQ (Autism Spectrum Quotient): A self-report questionnaire for adults.
RAADS-R (Ritvo Autism Asperger Diagnostic Scale-Revised): Another self-report for adults.
Many, many others! Clinicians pick tools based on age, suspected presentation, and their own expertise.
Cognitive & Language Assessments:
IQ/Cognitive Testing (e.g., WISC, WAIS, Stanford-Binet): To understand cognitive strengths and weaknesses. Autism can co-occur with any level of intellectual ability. Important Note: Autistic individuals can have "spiky profiles" – very high abilities in some areas and significant challenges in others. This doesn't always translate well on standardized IQ tests.
Speech and Language Evaluation: Assesses receptive (understanding) and expressive (using) language, pragmatics (social use of language), and nonverbal communication.
Adaptive Behavior Assessments (e.g., Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales):
Evaluates daily living skills, communication, social skills, and motor skills compared to age-matched peers. This helps understand the level of support an individual might need.
Sensory Profile: Questionnaires or discussions about sensitivities to light, sound, touch, taste, smell, and movement.
Medical & Neurological Examination (Sometimes): To rule out other medical conditions that might explain symptoms.
The Goal: To build a comprehensive picture. No single test "diagnoses" autism. It's about patterns of behavior, developmental history, and how these impact daily life, all considered against established diagnostic criteria (usually from the DSM-5-TR or ICD-11).
Tumblr Pro-Tip for Assessment Day:
Be Yourself: Easier said than done, especially if you mask. But try to be as authentic as possible.
Write Things Down: Beforehand, jot down examples of your experiences, challenges, and traits. It's easy to forget in the moment.
Bring a Support Person (if allowed/helpful): For moral support or to help recall information (especially for adult diagnosis if a parent or long-term partner is involved).
Ask Questions: If you don't understand something, ask!
It's Okay to Be Nervous/Overwhelmed: This is a big deal. Allow yourself to feel whatever you're feeling.
Part 4: The "Big Reveal" - Receiving the Report & Diagnosis
After all the assessments, there's usually a feedback session where the clinician discusses their findings and provides a written report. This report can be LONG and full of clinical jargon.
If Diagnosed Autistic:
The Emotional Cocktail: Get ready for a potential mix of:
Relief/Validation: "I'm not broken! There's a reason!"
Grief: For the life you might have imagined, for past struggles, for not knowing sooner.
Confusion/Overwhelm: "What does this mean? What now?"
Anger: At past misdiagnoses, at people who didn't understand.
Joy/Excitement: About connecting with a new community and understanding yourself better.
The Report: It will outline the tests done, your (or your child's) scores, observations, and how these meet (or don't meet) diagnostic criteria. It should also include recommendations. Ask the clinician to walk you through it in plain language.
If Not Diagnosed Autistic (but you strongly suspect it):
This can be incredibly invalidating and confusing.
Ask Why: Understand the clinician's reasoning. Did they consider masking? Are they experienced with subtle presentations or adult diagnosis?
Seek a Second Opinion: If you feel the assessment wasn't thorough or the clinician wasn't a good fit, you have the right to get another opinion, especially from someone specializing in the autistic presentation you identify with (e.g., autism in women/AFAB individuals, PDA profile).
Remember Self-Identification: Even without a formal "yes," if the autistic experience resonates deeply, your self-understanding is valid. The autistic community largely embraces this.
Part 5: The "Okay, So Now What?" - Navigating Next Steps
A diagnosis isn't an endpoint; it's a signpost. Here's where the journey really begins.
Breathe. Process. Feel.
Give yourself time. There's no "right" way to react. Talk to trusted friends, family, or a therapist. Journal. Engage in your special interests. Whatever helps you process.
Tumblr Hug: You are not alone in this. Many have walked this path.
Connect with the Autistic Community:
This is arguably one of the MOST important steps. Find autistic-led groups online (Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter/X, Reddit, Discord) or in person.
Listen to #ActuallyAutistic voices. Read blogs, watch videos, follow creators. They offer insights, support, and a sense of belonging that non-autistic professionals often can't.
Value Add: This community can help you decipher what "autism" actually means in lived experience, beyond clinical definitions.
Learn (and Unlearn):
Read books by autistic authors. Learn about neurodiversity as a paradigm.
Unlearn harmful stereotypes about autism (e.g., that all autistics are like Rain Man, lack empathy, or are non-verbal).
Explore concepts like masking, burnout, autistic inertia, monotropism, and special interests (or "spIns").
Consider Therapies & Supports (if needed/wanted):
Crucial Caveat: The goal of support should be to help the autistic person thrive as an autistic person, not to make them "less autistic" or "more neurotypical." Avoid any therapy aiming to "cure" or "normalize" autism.
Occupational Therapy (OT): Can help with sensory processing issues, motor skills, daily living skills, emotional regulation. Look for OTs with a neurodiversity-affirming approach.
Speech-Language Therapy (SLP): Can help with social communication (pragmatics), understanding non-literal language, alternative communication methods (AAC), and feeding issues. Again, ensure they respect autistic communication styles.
Mental Health Support (Therapy/Counseling): Many autistic people benefit from therapy to deal with anxiety, depression, trauma (often from navigating a neurotypical world), or to process their diagnosis. Seek therapists who are autism-knowledgeable AND affirming.
ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis): This is a highly controversial topic.
Traditional ABA has been criticized by many autistic adults for being compliance-based, traumatic, and aiming to suppress autistic behaviors (like stimming) rather than supporting underlying needs.
Some newer/modified forms claim to be more child-led and focus on functional skills.
Tumblr PSA: DO YOUR RESEARCH. Listen to autistic adults about their experiences with ABA. If considering it, scrutinize the provider's methods, goals, and respect for autistic identity. Many autistic advocates advise against it entirely or urge extreme caution.
Social Skills Groups: Can be helpful IF they focus on understanding social dynamics and providing tools, rather than forcing neurotypical masking. Autistic-led groups are often best.
Parent Training/Support (for parents of autistic kids): Focus on understanding your child's needs, adapting the environment, and advocating for them, not changing who they are.
Accommodations & Environmental Adjustments:
School: IEPs/504 plans can provide classroom accommodations (e.g., noise-canceling headphones, visual schedules, movement breaks, modified assignments).
Work: Reasonable accommodations might include a quieter workspace, flexible hours, written instructions, permission to use stim toys.
Home: Create sensory-friendly spaces. Reduce clutter. Establish routines if helpful. Honor sensory needs (e.g., specific food textures, clothing fabrics).
Embrace Strengths & Special Interests:
Autism isn't just a list of deficits! Autistic people often have incredible strengths: intense focus, attention to detail, loyalty, strong sense of justice, unique perspectives, deep knowledge in areas of interest.
Special interests are not "obsessions" to be discouraged; they are sources of joy, learning, regulation, and expertise! Lean into them!
Self-Advocacy & Setting Boundaries:
Learn to communicate your needs. It’s okay to say no, to ask for clarification, to leave overwhelming situations.
This is a skill that develops over time, especially if you've spent years masking.
Patience & Self-Compassion:
This is a marathon, not a sprint. There will be good days and hard days. Be kind to yourself. You're learning a new way of understanding yourself and navigating the world.
Part 6: The "Don't Forget This Stuff!" - Final Thoughts & Value Nuggets
Autism is a Spectrum, Not a Line: It's a diverse constellation of traits. "If you've met one autistic person, you've met one autistic person." Support needs vary wildly.
Masking is Real & Exhausting: Many autistics (especially women, AFAB individuals, and people of color) learn to camouflage their traits to fit in. This can delay diagnosis and lead to burnout.
Late Diagnosis is Valid: Discovering you're autistic as an adult is increasingly common and incredibly validating. It's never "too late."
Internalized Ableism is a Thing: You might have absorbed negative messages about autism or disability. Unpacking this is part of the journey.
Celebrate Neurodiversity: The idea that neurological differences like autism are natural variations in the human genome, not disorders to be cured. Embrace it!
Phew! We made it through the deep dive! Getting an autism diagnosis can feel like the end of one chapter and the very overwhelming beginning of another. But armed with knowledge, community, and self-compassion, it can also be the start of a more authentic, understood, and supported life.
What are your experiences with the diagnostic process? Any tips for folks just starting out? Spill the tea in the comments/reblogs! Let's support each other!
