[SSR] Rosienne Minuit - The Rose Festival

after many tears, the main star is here!! 🌟 or, Rosienne's card for my fan event (which is also, technically, his hometown event)

surprisingly, he's not in a dress this time, but i saw the coat on Pinterest and couldn't resist myself. the yellow is, of course, a reference to Belle because one he deserves to be the main character for once and second because i wanted to drive home that he's got some inspiration from her too

heads up, seven up + last line tag

This is a combo of a heads up, seven up from @oh-no-another-idea and a last line tag from @writeouswriter. It's the end of the snippet whose beginning I posted for my last tag game. (Quite a bit happened in between, though.)

Though it had been years since he’d climbed the rigging, it came back to him easily, his body’s memory of six years of sailing guiding him up to the small basket-like platform near the top of the mast. A member of the crew sat inside. As Rook’s head came into view, she started, eyes wide. “Get out.” She nodded and hurriedly clambered over the edge, scurrying down the rigging towards the deck. Rook sank onto the floor of the crow’s nest, tipping his head back until it touched the low wooden wall surrounding the platform. Closing his eyes, he breathed in, then out, forcing himself to slow down. He wasn’t sure if it was the gentle rocking of the ship, or the wind on his face, or the sun on his skin, or simply the distance from the deck and all the gloom that hung over it, but slowly the tension faded from his body.

There's WAY too many words in that last sentence to tag that many people, and I already tagged 9 people like 5 minutes ago, so I'm just going to make this one an open tag!!

Been mulling over whether to take the plunge into attempting digital art and invest in a proper tablet and pen. It’s been upwards of a decade since I drew anything, and nothing regularly since high school. I wasn’t talented, but I had fun. And I miss it! Plus it was so good for my mental health having a creative outlet where I could focus intensely and have something to show for it.

But I’m terrible about spending money on myself and not sure I can justify the expense since I tend to get burnt out quickly on things I’m not immediately good at.

So I decided I would try to draw something on my phone with my finger thinking that would be so frustrating I would drop the whole idea.

But turns out I can easily trace with my finger on my phone! Honestly took me forever, but it was fun and relaxing. And with a decent app, like Ibis Paint, the stabilizing functions makes all the difference.

Sooooo this is my second attempt ever at digital art. (I am not posting the first one here lol). I’m bumbling my way through figuring out all the tools, brushes, and layers. I have no idea where to begin when it comes to coloring and shading, so I’m settling for figuring out lineart right now.

Anyway, I think my Dragon Age Inquisitor, Ede’Emal, came out really well for a beginner finger tracer using her phone! Green is her color, so I really like how I could make her vallaslin and eyes pop! Just don’t zoom in on the eyelashes, idk wtf I’m doing there lol

Trying to word what Ena and Spite's relationship is to me is so weird bc like. Too platonic to be romantic and too romantic to be platonic. What do you call it when a spirit bends the rules of their nature to love you? Spite is Determination, and he is determined to love Rook but is he in love? Can a spirit be in love? They can grasp and long for the concept (as justice does in awakening) but when they themselves feel it is it the same as a mortal would?
