In case anyone is new here this entire comic was based off of her work, so please do yourself a favour and read hers as it is superior in everyway lol.

The rest if the scene would play out very similar to the original confrontation between Dream and Nightmare, but with an added "you have children?" "Uh yeahhh surprise unclemare!"

In all seriousness Nightmare was furious about the situation, but that's for another time.

The twins will never be cured though as you can see...

I do want to give a special credit to zu for her help and support of me throughout this 4 part series. Thanks to her my skills with comics has improved greatly and I am very thankful for her. She also helped me with figuring out how this scene might play put differently, as both my and her universes are close together in timeline.

I did originally wanna make this longer, but with art school and so many other things I had to cut it down, but I hope you all still enjoyed!

I do hope to do more with the family in the future, but definitely not as much as zu is doing with her dark cream haha we can all go and enjoy Aim together.

The start of everything

It was a cold night but full of bright stars that filled the night sky with small lights. On this beautiful night, Lux was sitting on a hill watching the sky carefully or at least that was the case until a familiar voice called her attention

- Lux? What are you doing here alone?

Lux turned to see who was talking to her, quickly recognizing his "uncle" nightmare

- oh! hello unclemare, i was seeing the stars

Nightmare approached Lux and sat next to her

- You shouldn't be here alone, someone could hurt you, Dream, where is he? Did he leave you alone again?

- He is busy with her work. . . Just like always

A small, very discreet smile formed on Nightmare's face

- He should be here taking care of you, sometimes I feel like he doesn't care about you. . . You deserve someone to take better care of you

- who would want to do that? If my father doesn't tolerate me, no one else will

- I would like to take care of you, I would give you attention, I would give you food and drink, you would have a comfortable home, all of that only if you accept of course

Lux's smile lit up like the sun when she heard that proposal, live with her favorite person? It was obvious that she was going to accept seconds later

- PLEASE I WANT TO LIVE WITH YOU UNCLEMARE!

Nightmare got up from the ground and helped little Lux up

"Well, isn't she's the little girl who Dream decided to take care of, when it's clearly lady Ink and that bastard octopus responsibilities? Hmm... I do not hold anything opinion of her. I can't say I like her and I can't say I dislike her... But I must say, lady Lily isn't someone want to be close with. They should run if she says her greeting."

Nightmare:

"Hmm, my daughter huh? Well, because of her, Dream and I actually made truce after years... I do want to take care of my little girl but oh well, Error want to kill me because you know Ink is his ex and here I am hooked up with Ink."

Killer:

"I am a little bit grateful the fact the little girl didn't live with us... It's much more safer to stay with Dream."

Horror:

"She's looks very much like Crescent. Almost reminded me of Angst too, especially her intelligent."

Dust:

"I suggest everyone should stay away from her. I don't understand how Dream can tolerates her when she clearly killed couple of people then gawk their eyes and rip off their faces. I seen it and I am glad my face doesn't attracted her that much."

Reaper:

"She doesn't own a candle life... Everyone have it but that child is like Geno..."

Geno:

"Goth says a lot about her. Reaper too. I am curious but Reaper forbid me to come closer to her, even if it a small wave."

Children

Palette:

"at first, I thought I was paranoid until I live through almost over 300 timelines because of her. That thing is no one want it to exist. I remember a couple of timelines, she torture me and turned me into a doll and sometimes stitch my mouth so I can't scream. Mostly, she took my eyes and left me bleeding then die... I am not her only victim but I can say, I am her top target..."

Lux:

"Unclemare used to told me a lot that I have to kill her right away when she was born but I couldn't bring myself to do it... Now, I understand why he said that. He warns me to never interact with Lily ever again... You don't want to know what's in her room, it's just sickening."

Drop:

"I am disappointed to have such sister like her... No, I am ashamed to call her my sister. What she did to Palette and Merciless is just unforgivable... I remember couple of timelines where she take out Merciless organs and stuff cotton in him then dance with him... It's just horrible, it's disgusting. What can't I forget the most is when she beheaded Palette and... Urgh, I cannot say anything anymore. It's too horrible."

Merciless:

"Ah... Honestly she creeps me out and uh... Made me really uncomfortable most of the time. I prefer hanging out with Drop since she respect my boundaries at least and act like a child but Lily.. It made me want to puked when I remember what she did to me... I stop visiting Palette or Lux cause I know Lily will be there, watching us as if we are her dolls."

Goth:

"For the first time, I don't want to have any attentions from anyone. Lily, she... She killed a friend of mine and gawked her eyes. It's not the first time, she killed a lot of influencers but only with pretty faces. After that, I decided that Palette and Drop live with me as I am aware they are beautiful and can be the next victims of Lily...."

Crescent:

"She's definitely a demon in disguise. No child supposed to act like that... Merciless cried at me and told me the horrible things Lily did to him.. It's my first time seeing my little brother cries... Dream, Ink and almost adults found her innocent. May God never forgive her."

Angst (spirit):

"She's a demon. Quetzalcoatl made a mistake by giving her the wrong blessing, especially when she is already soulless. That dumb b-tch... Even grandma are super pissed."

Angst (alive au):

"Oh princess Lily? She is the most loveliest girl I ever know. I don't understand how my brothers hates her to the core."

Dream: Stella dear, never go near that. It is poisonous and can kill you.

Stella: Oh, okay (⁠◍⁠•⁠ᴗ⁠•⁠◍⁠), also when I went to the surface for buying some things that mom told me to, a group of girls bullied me, so I killed them with my axe and brought the corpses home for dinner.

Would you consider talking more about the relationships between the group in that last picture on your Spectrum-verse post? I'm so curious about the family (and maybe romantic?) dynamics between them all, mostly with the main crew but also with how Epic and Color fit into things.

Donno about romantic relationships because I don’t have a natural inclination for those. Though I could literally write any of them into a romantic relationship easily if I set my mind to it, I think.

Family-wise though... I’m pretty bad at describing relationships (as opposed to showing them through actual scenes. Those I have scattered over my Twitter and AO3 in forms of arts and drabbles. Though I’ll try to put a brief summary under cut:

Nightmare, being the most mature person out of all of them, is the core pillar of the family, often working to solve the issues inside it. Favors Ink’s companionship though and takes his role as Lux’s uncle very seriously, being a major support to Cross’s parenting.

Ink, surprisingly enough, is doing relatively well relationships-wise. He’s often absent, since his work is never over, but when he’s not, he’s putting everything he’s learned from Night over the years to good use. He bonds really well with Killer, but there’s still some bad blood there when it comes to Dream, and his relationship with Cross is pretty shaky. He’s not allowed to babysit Lux too, since he may be better at emotional intelligence now, but he’s still impulsive and scatterbrained as heck.

Killer is the only member of the former “gang” that Nightmare was able to take in (for reasons), and has probably the shakiest position in this family thanks to his nature and his past. He and Cross do eventually get over this hurdle though, and there’s a gradual transition to a more equal relationship with him and Nightmare. He and Ink, as mentioned before, bond over being chaotic entities :P

Cross, now that there’s no world to save and no place to call home, makes the best of the situation he’s in. Lux is his main priority, and he’s initially various levels of hostile towards everyone else, but, over time, he mellows out towards the others, especially to Nightmare, considering how helpful he is at raising Lux. Ironically enough, the most strained relationship he has is with Dream.

Dream... is a disaster. Considering most of his life was spent playing a hero, he has... very little understanding of how healthy relationships work. So he struggles to bond with just about anyone in the family, including Cross and Lux (and he still thinks Ink is awful). This results in a lot of... tension.

Lux is doted on by the whole family, and she knows it, using this for all sorts of mischief. She’s very close to her “Unclemare” though, and would often try to impress him. She’s also aware of the strained relationship between her parents, but stays out of it, as per Nightmare’s request.

Epic and Color have been friends to Cross and Killer respectively long before the family thing happened. These relationships keep blooming still (with Nightmare’s additional encouragement, because the boys need some healthy friendships in their lives). Eventually all four of them hang out at times, and the chaotic potential of this relationship is only rivaled by Nightmare+Ink duo. Epic and Color are also considered “honorary uncles” to Lux :P

I loved their design and it pushed my skills to the limit. I had started Trix when I first saw this several days ago, but then tablet screen glitched. I was able to finish it, today and I am very proud of them! A bit of my own lore: Trix is a Dream and Cross Ship kid! They/Them pronouns! I think Trix would be a prankster and would totally go and bother Nightmare constantly. Trix has a good heart but always seems to get into trouble. If I win: I has song theme for them XD. They have special arrows that can fire directly at a target and never miss, but using them costs much more magic than normal I hope you like it ^^ ***************** Yess! The pose is great! The love the idea of them pranking their unclemare! That's great

As for the whole “Unclemare” thing... chances are Palette won’t actually ever get to know his uncle. The only reason why Nightmare even took them out of the castle was because he still needed his questions answered, and clearly he wouldn’t get them if he didn’t play nice.

And maybe he does have the tiniest soft spot for Dream, but that only comes into play later. You’ll have to wait and see! 💕
