Back underground when Charon became the Captain of the Royal guard, the mad king Asgore made Charon hunt down ‘traitors’ - monsters who Asgore in his paranoia thought were secretly rebelling and planning to backstab him - and bring them back in front of the mad king.

Which Charon did, only to find out about the terrible fate that would befall said monsters: Enduring a horrible torture in view of the entire inhabitants of New Home, kept alive for days in their horrific state as a warning to any possible traitors that wish to rebel before being dusted.

Horrified by this, Charon found an ultimatum; offering the ‘traitors’ he captures a choice. Either be handed over to the mad king and the merciless fate that awaited them there, or dust painlessly by Charon’s hands, have their last will fulfilled and their dust spread out at a location of their choosing.

He hid his actions from the king by pretending he was merciless and didn’t hold back, often causing a dusting instead of a capture. The king believed this ruse. As did most of monster kind. Meanwhile Charon kept the dust of monsters who wanted to be spread on the surface in urns kept safely in the basement. The urns labeled by names of the monster and their wills.

There is a Golden Curse for the Gaster family. True, gold may be an adhered symbol of class for many mobsters and monsters alike, but to each family, is its own significance. The Gaster families hold had little to do with wealth and income but in power.

There is an apparition of deformity inside the skeletons magic; it is an intrusion, one that upon injury, healed scars form a gold filling cellular growth over the wound. For a more depictive instance, Papyrus Gaster sports a particularly flaunty golden jaw. The reason for this jaw is not due to his magic, however- the powers of the gold is only formed at a certain age of 11, or remotely triggered under extreme conditions. As a child during the “Siege of the Underground”, the implementation of trench warfare and militarism disputes was a large last resort for the unfamiliar army of the United States. The aftermath would be the youngest skeleton placed to be in a medical coma after a dense direct explosion destroyed the lower jaw and collar area of his body. At such a weak state and young age, to heal such a severe injury on his own, the 2 were recollected by the W.D. Gaster and taken as as his most estranged remaining family.

With Papyrus unable to recover properly, Wingdings finally stepped in to help his grandchildren, after much begging and force from the distraught yet determined oldest sibling of 11-15. Teaching a young boy who’d seen nothing but death and displacement to weld metal and gold was a troublesome task but it was completed after months time of severe crisis during the war. While Papyrus lingered in his fragile state teetering on life, the magic of his soul was leaking ever so slowly throughout the period. Whilst his speaking abilities were retained certain parts of his soul had been dusted to nothing- reducing his power and healing abilities to little of what’ve have previously been. This is the first incident that truly allows Wings his first perspective into their heritages power- why all skeletons often bear golden “fillings” over their scar much akin to tooth fillings.

Despite all this, you may ask why skeletons are such a rare occurrence in most canon? The gold health formed from their scarred bones serves as a conduit for their soul’s magic, a prevention from the magic “leaking”. Without this natural plug, their magic would dissipate like a human’s life force. Extracting this essence can be extremely valuable— enhancing natural abilities, providing natural source of magic power, can be modified into magic based treatments, and even forged into other conduits.

The sickly mother’s death of the 2 skeleton orphans hold a high truth to the boys most shadowed grandfather, one being Wingdings Gaster, a true scientist who sought to understand the species unique properties. His knowledge drove him to experimentation on the only skeletons left, in the means of unlocking its potential. It is said, as for why the man carries so much grief yet indifference, that each mark of his gold is toiled with the blood of monsters and humans alike, forming the drive towards his own kingdoms near annihilation of 1916.

alright time to act formal now that the curtains are down or some shit idk. Papyrus T. Skeleton, also known as Papyrus, Pap, and also... bonehead? wait am i reading this right? damn,, alright, so basically fuck the formality. alright jackasses, let's get yapping. if you know papyrus, then you should be able to tell that, well... he's a skeleton. hence the last name "skeleton". but, unlike undertale's papyrus, canonfell papyrus... is a part of the fucking royal guard. IN FACT! he's second in command, which means he's actually pretty cool and... cool. yeah, that's it. anyways, you might have noticed the weird wonky armor that just looks like an evil papyrus armor, HOWEVER, he does have official "Royal Guard" armor that he despises wearing. Unless he's on official business, such as with Asgore or Undyne, he won't wear it. Design is HERE. You're prolly wondering where Papyrus got his scar from. Well, basically, to put a long story short, his brother was about to get killed by uhhhh Asgore because he couldn't break the barrier like Gaster said they would, and so Papyrus stopped Asgore. Guess what HE gets? A position in the Royal Guard, and his eye being stabbed in by Asgore's claw. Sans gets POWERS!, thas it. Unlike most Monsters in Underfell, he feels remorse- hold on, what's that word mean? what the fuck does remorse mean, google dot com... found it. so basically, he feels regret any time he HAS to kill, and he also swears the least out of everybody. Oh, right. CHECK OUT BROTHER RELATIONSHIP HERE FUCKHEADS! k, i dont have to explain. Oh yeah, Papyrus laughs really fucking weirdly, going "HAW HAW HAW" instead of "NYEH HEH HEH". According to fella, it is a "very powerful ugly laugh". It makes him hate when people try to make him laugh. According to my sources (canonfell wiki)... Ahem... "Papyrus likes evil puns, but will not get regular ones". I am going to kill somebod- Oh YEAAAH, papayas cooks lasagna instead of spaghetti. He also cooks chimichangas, which Sans sells, and he... wants to write his own cookbook? I mean, shit, I'd buy it. Also, in terms of, like, AUs meeting AUs, Underfell Papyrus is friends with Horrortale Papyrus and "Trades" recipes. He does not accept Horror Papyrus' recipe for... obvious reasons. Papyrus is an AMAZING actor, being able to pretend that he's this menacing Royal Guard, and pretend he does the killing he's forced to do for sport. Don't forget that his voice is canonically deeper, but he can LITERALLY just raise the pitch in his voice whenever he wants and shock people. Lastly (because it's almost 2 AM)... Papyrus is Asgore's number 1 hater, and he can't do shit about it (if Papyrus is weaker than Undyne, and Undyne's weaker than Asgore... Well, obviously he won't win). Hi Milk!!! I was hoping someone would ask this question, so thank you for allowing me the opportunity to infodump/ramble about the intricacies of the poly pack!

Edit after writing it all: you have no idea the sheer size of the beast you just unleashed. Holy heck I have been slow cooking this for so long

So! Originally it was just Undertale that emerged, so it was just Sans and Papyrus living in a shabby apartment after they gained basic rights and the world settled a bit.

Sans and Papyrus are brothers just trying to make the most of life. They do their best.

Around four years later is when things start picking up.

Underswap emerges from a different mountain, and a lot of stuff happens but basically the human government and the two royal families decide that Undertale Monsters should form packs with/allow Underswap Monsters into their established packs until they can get a hang of this new world.

Thus the newly named Blue and Stretch join (the also newly named) Star and Comet. It was pretty tense at first, what with so many different personalities and statuses merging, but they made it work for the most part. Star was unanimously chosen as pack leader, what with his charisma, charm and designation, so there weren’t many fights along that line.

At first it was a pack of convenience, so there wasn’t any feelings going on, but I think Blue and Star would have probably been the first friendship to occur.

They’re both high energy and emotionally intelligent, along with always looking for new friends- I think they’d hit it off almost instantly. There’s a good few years between the emergence of Undertale and Underswap, so Star would already be pretty settled and would be an amazing guide for his New Friend!

Stretch and Star would also get along pretty well decently fast, attempts would be made to get close to Comet… but he always seems to be just out of reach

Stretch, Blue and Star are friends. Comet is aloof.

Romance doesn’t happen for awhile, as just a year after Underswap joins the world, Underfell emerges

It’s already hectic with the world still reeling at the fact the there’s a freaking multiverse and now there’s another and this one is a bit more… harsh

There’s chaos in the world and inside the pack. Edge and Red are rough and tumble and trauma thrown into a bag of snakes. There’s a battle of dominance between Star and Edge, one that Edge loses repeatedly. Red looms in dark corners and bites if you get too close, Blue and Star eventually get things to settle, but tensions are still high for awhile. Both inside the pack and in the outside world, unfortunately.

Star and Edge become friends, even though Edge loudly protests at the mere thought. Blue and Edge become friends not long after. But really it’s more Star and Blue lulling/bullying Edge into a friendship through Friendship Food, Sparing and Fine Cinema

Edge and Stretch do NOT get along for a long while, not with how Edge yells at Blue. And yknow, his Level and stuff. Same with Edge and Comet.

Red and Comet… weirdly do get along? They have this intense game of gay chicken going on except the vibes are increasingly turning gayer with no chicken in sight. No one knows what the situationship is with those two or how it happened, but at least they’re not trying to kill eachother. So nobody really asks too many questions. Not that they’d get any answers—

Still no romance though. Blue, Edge and Star are friends. Star, Stretch and Blue are friends. Stretch and Comet are friendly. Stretch and Edge are haters, so are Stretch and Red, and Comet and Red may or may not be fucking when nobody’s looking. The jury is out on that one.

A few years pass and everyone is mostly chill. Edge still has his moments, but has, as his Undyne would say, gone soft. Feelings are blooming between him and Star, because really, they both yearn for love and romance. And they are perfectly fit for eachother but neither knows how to make the first move and are terrified of ruining their friendship. Blue and Stretch have bets made on who will crack first.

Blue is waiting patiently for the two to figure it out before he adds his own feelings into their little disaster as he is a Very Supportive Friend! Who happens to love both of his best friends— but what is a lover if not an super best friend?!

Stretch and Edge have chilled, and become neutral towards each other. Comet, Red and Stretch have become friends. Edge and Star become mates, with Blue joining not long after. And Comet has strangely been seen wearing a collar with Reds magic signature. All in all things are doing pretty well. They even move into a much larger house with their additional gold! Big enough to house a larger pack, if ever need be—

Six years after UnderFell, SwapFell emerges.

It’s UnderFell all over again, but this time the world and the pack is a little more knowledgeable of how to deal with it.

By now Edge has been elected Pack leader, something Black immediately and quite viciously challenges. Edge’s temper and instincts run high for the first year as he and Black get into pretty much daily brawls and fights for dominance. New scars are acquired, and tension runs high in the pack.

Grim slinks in the shadows and rarely speaks, most often seen standing just over Black’s shoulder. He gains a mild interest in Stretch, and Stretch gains a mild hatred of seeing his dark and silent alternate’s shadow looming behind him.

Blue and Black fight. A lot. Especially about Edge. Black always seems to know just the right insults to ruffle his feathers and goad him into a spar. The word ‘spar’ is used a bit lightly.

They throw each other into trees and suplex boulders. Fights have been banned from the backyard and banished into the forest.

That lasts for months until it all abruptly comes to a halt one day, and neither can look at each other without magic flushing their faces. Nobody has to ask why, they can smell it on them.

(They fucked nasty in the forest mid fight)

Eventually Black ends up submitting to Edge’s authority, grumbling that it just isn’t worth it. Blue looks supremely smug as Black loudly proclaims, while his face is burnt purple, that nobody influenced his decision.

It’s not long until Blue and Black are in a relationship. One that Edge huffs about while Star pats him on the shoulder and nods along as Edge grumbles sourly about it.

It put a little bit of tension in Edge’s, Star’s and Blue’s poly, but Star and Blue are masters at diffusing such situations.

Grim has inexplicably started an odd little relationship with Red, while also worming his way into relationships with the others.

Nobody knows quite how it happens, but Grim ends up in a relationship with Red, Blue, Star, Stretch, and Edge. Not all together, but in a relationship nonetheless.

Stretch is not quite sure how Grim got into his pants… but that happened and now he’s in a relationship with Grim.

Black is inevitably accepted into the bigger poly of Star, Edge and Blue with minimal grumbling between Black and Edge.

Feelings that Stretch had hopelessly tried to smother spark between him and Edge, and with Blue cheering them on, the two enter a relationship as well. Not long after, Stretch joins the poly, ofc with the exception of Blue.

Red and Grim are in a relationship, Red and Comet are in a relationship, and Comet and Stretch are in a relationship.

It’s a tangled ploy but it works.

And then eight years after Swapfell… there’s Horrortale.

Nobody knows what to do with them. The human government and the Royal Family are in utter shock of the conditions and temperaments of the newest arrivals. It’s rough in the poly for a while.

Bear is wild and aggressive and Sparrow doesn’t speak. The two share a bed and refuse to leave each others sides. They go into the forest often and come out with bloody deer and game, they know what the others are saying but prefer to speak only to each other in a language nobody else understands.

Nobody knows what to do.

Bear only picks fights if the others get too close. Bear also hates both Star and Comet. And Edge. Also Red and Grim and Black and Stretch. Bear hates everyone and Sparrow is always staring wide eyed at every little moment the others make. He’s a surprisingly fast escape artist despite his long and crooked stature.

The only person Bear doesn’t seem to hate is Blue. For some reason.

Blue doesn’t complain though! He cozies up to both Bear and Sparrow through hard work and dedication! Bear does, in-fact, put a ring (collar) on it the moment he falls. Sparrow and Bear’s magic is woven into a very sturdy, hand-made leather collar that Blue proudly wears around his wrist.

After a little work and a lot of patience, Star also becomes one of the brothers trusted skeletons. And not long after, mate.

It surprises absolutely no one when Grim worms his way into the growing little poly, Stretch is a little intriguing addition, but where Grim goes Stretch is typically not far behind. So it’s not much of a shock.

What catches everyone off guard is Bear going after Black, especially Black himself.

Bear isn’t agrresive in his courting, but he is persistent. With the patience to match. Especially after his head wound gets properly sealed.

Bear has a laser focus on the things he wants, and for some reason he’s decided he wants Black.

Black is completely flummoxed (and a bit flustered) at this… beasts, sudden attention on him. Black wants no part! He won’t fall for some brutes attempts to charm him!

…these all end up as lies as only weeks later Black has a fancy new collar and his scent in Bear’s nest.

So! As a final headcount!!!!

Bear, Star, Blue, Black, Stretch and Grim are in a relationship.

Sparrow, Star, Blue and Grim are in a relationship.

Star, Edge, Grim, Stretch, Black and Blue are in a relationship.

Red and Comet are in a relationship.

Red and Grim are in a relationship.

And finally! Comet and Stretch are in a relationship.

And then there’s Nerma… and what happens there is to be seen in the future!

The title for most relationships is a tie between Grim and Star, with Star being with everyone but his brother and Red, and Grim being in a relationship with everyone but his brother and Comet.

The title for the least relationships is also a tie, between Red and Comet. Red is with two people, Grim and Comet. And Comet is with two people, Red and Stretch.

First relationship is Star and Edge. (Although Nobody knows when Red and Comet’s odd situationship started, so that could be the first.)

Last relationship is Bear and Black, if only because Black was being huffy about it.

Although, that doesn’t mean that the dynamics won’t change. There already is a bit of pining between two skeletons— but a brother with a grudge keeps it from being anything more…

What is Twinfell? Twinfell is an AU based around Underfell (creator @underfell) where the monsters in the underground are very edgy, hateful, and fueled with fear. At first, the monsters were just like the ones in Undertale, but after they were trapped underground, they turned to hate and fear. Asgore was the first person in this AU to fall, and everyone went down the same path as him eventually.

The story of Underfell starts after the monsters have fully integrated into this mindset, but unlike normal Underfell, Twinfell also combines the events of Flowerfell as part of the AU. Flowerfell was created by @Siviosanei, where every time Frisk dies, the timeline resets. And when they return to life, a buttercup grows on their body. The flowers could not be removed as it hurts Frisk. Despite the cruel nature of the characters in Underfell, Frisk remains pacifist.

Twinfell takes place 7 years after Flowerfell happens. (In my AU version of Flowerfell, instead of the ending where Sans uses Frisks' SOUL along with the other 6 human SOULs to break the barrier and free all of the Monsters), he instead chooses to absorb Frisks' SOUL and lets the other 6 fade into nothingness due to his depression and grief over losing Frisk, as well as his fears that even after everything Frisk did trying to teach the Underfell Monsters the meaning of kindness and pacifism, that they might not have learned anything at all. Basically instead choosing to trap the UF monsters behind the Barrier with no way to escape.

Undyne, and Papyrus however, learning about Sans GODsoul and remembering how kind Frisk was, and seeing perhaps Asgore was wrong about all humans being heartless bastards, the 3 of them decide to make a rebellion group called the "Freedom Fighters" where they vow to take down Asgore, the Royal Guards as well as Asgore's "Kill or Be Killed" mindset once and for all and make the underground a much more inhabitable place.

How did the AU initially come about ? 

I was fascinated with the story and lore (as well as the overall aesthetic of Underfell) and obsessing over Flowerfell at the time, and I never noticed those two were completely different AUs until I basically did a deep dive into them both. And basically I wondered "what if I combined the two AUs together???" Another reason for it, was because I frankly got tired of the fandom for the most part sort of 'meme-ing' on the Underfell AU and other adjacent "Fell" AUs, I wanted to take the concept of Underfell and make it even more darker and twisted. And also dive even deeper into the whole concept of the Monsters losing their morality and humanity (which was the number one reason why I personally love the Underfell universe the most of all Undertale AUs I've read about and gotten interested in.) And wanted to do my own take on the verse, hence "Twinfell."

What is fighting like in the game ?

If there ever WAS a game made properly for Twinfell, I was sort of thinking the fighting system would be "real-time" instead of taking turns. (Or maybe its still turn based just like canon UNDERTALE, if you are fighting against any of the members of the Freedom Fighters group) vs the monsters on Asgore's side and The Royal Guard, who fight you based on real time.

In the RUINs, it's also turn-based, since technically the monsters are unaffiliated with either side, (some may fight you based on real-time depending how desperate they get in the fight. like during low HP moments etc.)

So I’m thinking just like in the canon Underfell Universe, that there isn’t a “pacifist” or a “ genocide” route.

More of like a Trust, Betrayal, Closure routes.

Trust: Otaku manages to befriend all the monsters and make them trust one another again.

Betrayal: Flowey or Akumu pins the monsters against each other resulting in Frisk getting blamed for it.

Closure: Otaku befriends all the monsters and manages to make them realize the wrongs they’ve committed. Finally finding closure within each other.”

What is the FIGHT/ACT/ITEM/MERCY interface like ? “FIGHT-ACT-ITEMS-MERCY" it’d still be the same as canon Undertale.

FIGHT- Butt heads against the monsters, but when things start getting seriously bad for the monster With them being at the last strand of HP they have, Flowey would step in and say “Maybe now they’ll listen to you” The fight option would be gone and then Mercy-> Spare HOWEVER if you ONLY fight them, it doesn’t mean they trust you, it just means they fear you. Choosing to only fight would still decide the routes.

ACT- same concept, trying to convince them not to kill you by making them trust you. Act takes longer per usual, but instead of Spare it’d be Mercy-> Convince Because by this time they have a little trust in you, and would come around wanting to help you. And themselves.

ITEMS- same thing, except you have a surprise box cutter in flowey's pot that isn’t known about until the end of the route.

MERCY - Self-Explanatory. May change to "Convince" or "Spare" depending on actions.

AKUMU RENGAI

Both were abandoned on the side of the road near an abandoned shopping mall by their parents at the age 7 and for 5 years they basically lived on their own and did what they could to survive up until CPS (Child Protective Services) of Ebott City finally found and rescued them and brought to an orphanage where the twins lived in for 2 more years and would move from foster family to foster family without much success.

(Mostly due to the Fosters wishing to seperate the twins since Akumu was very rebellious, and was suffering from abandonment issues and trauma, while Otaku was very easy going and well behaved. They thought Aku was a problem child.)

To avoid getting seperated again, Akumu took and lied to her brother to go sight seeing by climbing Mt. Ebott for a "Family Photo" of the two of them standing on the mountain overseeing Ebott City, when they both tripped and accidentally fell into a massive hole near the summit and landed on Golden Flowers….

Fun facts:

The Eldest Twin (by like, 10 minutes)

Has the SOUL of Discipline. (A combination of DETERMINATION and BRAVERY)

Effects: The SOUL becomes rock-hard. Able to bounce off attacks without taking too much damage. (About half the damage.) Though if done, the attacks will eventually fall back down at a faster pace and change color to injure the host at double the attack power it would have normally been.

14 years old.

Very rebellious, and acts much older than her actual age.

Is also extremely protective of her brother, and will even kill both monsters AND other humans if it meant keeping him safe.

Practically trusts no one, except for Otaku considering he is the only family she has left that still gives a shit about her and puts up with her "bad attitude" and issues.

Able to see and use the SAVE stars, cannot RESET.

OTAKU RENGAI

so papyrus, classic papyrus undertale, started a cult of papyri surrounding himself as their leader, but it’s poorly disguised as a polycule because all of them are very aroace and have no idea what dating is like. do their brothers know about this cult? not really actually they’re very good at hiding its existence but once they’re known by a sans they’re horrible at disguising it

there are some sanses that are pretty chill with it and some that would lose their MINDS if they ever knew about it. red/fell knows about the cult and doesn’t care much about it, as long as they aren’t like, idk, raising the dead or trying to actually kill each other. however,,, someone like blue/swap would lose it if they found out.

there are some that are related to the papy“cule” and visit it, but aren’t part of the cult. outer, as an example, isn’t part of the cult but knows where they gather and sometimes even visits to see comet [outertale papy]. or nightmare, he’s kind of like their adopted child in a way? nightmare’s biologically related to stretch, being his nephew, and the cult always welcomes and takes care of him when he visits.

i should add that the papycult is less of a cult and more of a sanctuary, they call it a cult because it’s funny and because papyrus is their leader

So, shortly before Frisk's fall into the underground there was an assassination attempt on Asgore's life. It failed, and all conspirators were executed for treason, but despite this, Asgore was concerned about them bypassing all his palace's defences, and it created a short-term paranoia in the New Home.

Asgore not only decided to improve his palace's defences, but to select some kind of his personal bodyguard and/or New Home's defender. The only person he could think of was Undyne, so he promoted her but allowed to choose a new captain for the Royal Guard. She chose Papyrus because he was the most successful of them all. Asgore wasn't really happy with this, but he admitted Papyrus' strengh and competence so he decided to accept Undyne's choice.

Who in the relationship would say 'I love you' first? When do they say it?

Undertale Sans - You know what? He might. It would come out of nowhere, at the end of a random conversation, and he will probably shake it off really fast afterward because he's scared of your reaction, but here he is. Sans is a mystery. He's hiding things from you for months and randomly starts to drop his trauma lore out of nowhere because he randomly decided he trusts you after all.

Undertale Papyrus - It's definitely going to be him. Papyrus likes to plan things. He plans things A LOT. And your relationship is a part of the big plan. Sure, things are.... Harder than what he thought it would be, but he's confident his plan is still good enough. He's doing things big on a date and pretty much screams it at you before the date because he can't hold on anymore.

Underswap Sans - There's an equal chance; it depends if it takes too long or not. Blue is not patient, but he's also not very confident in relationships in the beginning. So, uh, he's going to wait for you to say it, but if you take too long, he's going to lose it and do it himself because he can't wait anymore.

Underswap Papyrus — He will do it eventually, but it's best if you do it first. Once Honey is sure he has feelings, his anxiety catches up with him, and he becomes quite literally petrified every time you ask him something. A little help would be greatly appreciated, even though he might find some courage to say it himself if a very special occasion presents itself. He just wants the first one to be special; he's a romantic boy.

Underfell Sans - It's definitely you, and when you say it, he's going to look at you with wide goldfish eyes and the mouth wide open. Man, he might have realize there's something at this point, but he's too much in denial to accept it, so you just casually confessing to him is going to break him entirely lol.

Underfell Papyrus - He could never say it first. Edge had been told his entire life that these types of things are for weak people, and he's not weak so obviously he's not in love. When you tell him you love him, he might even reject you at first, mainly because he has no idea how to react to that. He was conditioned to think love is not a real thing, good luck to prove him it's pretty much is.

Horrortale Sans - He might and will tell you he loves you in the most random way possible. Chances are Oak is going to overthink how to confess to you, be confused, think he already did it and randomly say he loves you like he asks what's for dinner tonight. Bonus point if Willow is in the room to hear the biggest shocked gasp of your life.

Horrortale Papyrus - It's an equal chance, it depends on how fast your relationship is going and how comfortable he is around you. You'll pretty much have the same idea in the same period of time. Willow is shy, so he might need a little time to collect his thoughts and finds his words, but he can definitely do it.

Swapfell Sans - He's going to do it, but you better not laugh at him or it's over, and he will lose all the confidence he built during the months he spent with you. Like Edge, it's something that doesn't exist Underground, so Nox did a HUGE job on himself to come to that point and actually find the strength to say it. He wants you to understand that it's not just words, it's literally him lowering his barriers for you, and he never did that with anyone. He's terrified, please just say it's not just him.

Swapfell Papyrus - Oh, he's going to say it, very early in the relationship. He's not thinking a word of it before your relationship actually starts to get serious. Rus had a lot of partners in his life, all left, so he has some trust issues. Well... He's also a big part of why it happened, yes, but he's not in a hurry to confess.

Fellswap Gold Sans - Well, he will tell it. But probably only as a way to manipulate you so he can unlock the next step of your relationship, like in some sort of video game lol. Wine is not romantic, he doesn't understand why it's important to say he loves you but if it pleases you, he guesses he can make an effort or something.

Fellswap Gold Papyrus - Well... Coffee says "I love you" to everyone, so he probably said it in the first two minutes you started to show him affection, you know. He's going to start meaning it more and more as your relationship progress though.

Random's Lore Drops - Canon Fall but in past tense Sans

Y'know, It'd be funny if I made a post about an Undertale AU character that I originally believed in the fanon version (mainly just the being edgy version). So, uh...

This is the Canon Underfell design, by Fella.

(Before we get started, here's canonfell brother relationship so i can cut away some of the lore that's already explained right here.)

I'll be going from the oldest post I can find from Fella, to the newest lore post I can find. Numero uno consists of...

Canon Fell Sans' sneakers. More specifically, why the hell does he wear them instead of slippers? Just design choice? Or maybe it's because he's not allowed to? Nah. According to Fella themselves, "he likes the squeaky sound it makes because everyone hates it". So basically, he likes to squeak the shoes on the floor like he's on a basketball court.

Second post, why the hell does mf sweat so damn much? Well, first reason, he starts to sweat when he's angry. Second reason, because of the Sick Ass Jacket™️ that he got from making Grillby laugh. I mean, have you seen how thick it is? I'd be sweating too.

Random post I had to find, how did Sans get his jacket? Well, it's obvious of course, I said it before. He made Grillby laugh (unintentionally), and when you make Grillby laugh in Underfell, he gives you a smaller version of his coat. Now Sans is kitted with Sick Ass Jacket™️ and was forced to dress better, wearing said Sick Ass Jacket™️, a turtleneck, a gold chain (that's usually under said turtleneck), basketball shorts, and squeaky squeaky.

Third (lore relevant) post, the brothers dynamic. They DON'T hate eachother. On the fucking contrary. They both care for eachother, and don't really express it all too well. Brother relationship post HERE.

Fourth post, he's got 5 rings. 5 sick ass (not trademarked) rings, and the reason he can wear them is because he uses his magic so they don't fall off. From Fella themselves, the reason he has them on is because "the guy wants to flex so hard he’s constantly using his powers to keep them there. He doesn’t even think about it, he has so much power to spare he might as well “live” a little." So yeah, he uses his magic to keep wearing his rings cause he can.

Fifth post? Sans canonically CAN ball (so can Frisk, but Frisk is scarier)

Sixth, he's capable of opening his mouth. But it's usually when he's in battle, otherwise it won't ever open, because he's never under enough stress to have enough power for such.

Seventh, mf's eye is always glowing, no matter what. Mainly because he's had so much stress and emotional trauma, his magic is piled up, so his magic sorta does some wacky shit, like make his coat look cool.

Eighth, an almighty lore post by Fella, explaining how Sans awoke his powers and also how Papyrus got scar. Long story short, Gaster went missing, Sans was to take the blame, his punishment was Asgore crushing his skull, Paps retaliated, got hired and had his skull scratched through for a scar, and Sans got pissed off and woke his magic.

Ninth (nineth? idfk) semi-unrelated one is that Sans is the ONLY character not directly affiliated with Asgore who wears red and gold.

The rest I find from a canonfell wiki. Such as, he likes mustard and relish more than ketchup, and prefers knock-knock jokes to puns. Supposedly one of his more favorite drinks is a green martini, either appletini or honey dew martini, with larger quantities being a margarita

oh shit there's an official ask about sans hates women underfell (or technically a nod to it), which then displays that "i sans underfell love woimen", by the very words of sans underfell himself. REAL!

Oh yeah, he canonically sells chimichangas instead of hotdogs. His provider is not the store, but instead Papyrus. And according to this wiki, he gave Papyrus a hang-in-there cat poster as a joke, and Papyrus hung it up on the wall.

I find it's impossible to navigate this fandom without running into AUs, so I have seen quite a few!

I'm not involved with any AUs, and Classic has always been and always will be my favorite, but I am familiar with the vague concepts of a few AUs, or at the very least I know what their Sanses look like (approximately)

Underfell and Underswap are the two big ones, as far as I'm aware, or maybe just some of the first-er ones? I was aware of them way back in 2016 when I first got involved in the fandom. I honestly have no clue about any of the lore or story of either; I know that Swap is just. Personality swap. Pretty par for the course in fandom. No clue what Underfell actually is though- it's been described to me as just 'edgy Undertale'; a version where the whole underground lives by the principle of 'kill or be killed'.

Horrortale I only really encountered more recently; I'm not sure if that's because it's actually new or just came to be at some point between my first foray in the fandom and my more recent re-involvement. I think the concept is super cool- that the whole underground went insane from isolation after Frisk left- (I think) but I haven't been able to really get into it personally.

Dusttale just makes me sad. I don't know a lot about it, obviously, since I'm not actively looking at any AU content, but from what I know it's a version where Sans decides after so many resets the only way to stop it all is to kill everyone himself to level up. Once again, super cool concept, but really depressing?? And personally I don't really feel like it's something Sans would do- he may be generally apathetic, but he cares about the people around him. I suppose anything goes once you've been kind of driven insane, though, to be fair.

I find the fascination with Sans across different AUs fascinating. No matter what AU you look at, Sans always seems to be the star of the show- to the point where, even in all the AUs I talked about above, he (and MAYBE Papyrus) is the only one I've really seen art of in those AUs. I think I've seen a little bit of Swap or Swapfell Alphys and Undyne (don't ask me about AUs of AUs, I would have no idea; I barely know the regular AUs), but only by one artist, reposted without credit on Pinterest. It's to the point where the most often I've seen these AU Sanses isn't even in their own universes-- It's interacting with OTHER SANSES. MAYBE an AU Papyrus. There's like, an entire separate branch of fandom that's just all the different versions of Sans hanging out. That's WILD to me. In fact, the reason I recognize the sheer number of AUs I do (well, only their versions of Sans, actually) is just because I've seen so much content of the different Sanses just. Hanging out. Interacting.

Like I said, I don't really have a lot of interest in AUs, even though I appreciate the concepts; that being said, through fandom osmosis, I am able to identify/recognize:

Nightmare, Error, Geno, Fresh, Swap/Blueberry, Fell, Horror, Dust, Death (?), Dream, Murder (? is that one different from dust?), the one with a target on his chest??, Ink, and probably a few others that I'm just not thinking of. I've also heard of Mafiatale but idk much about it other than a few isolated comics I saw on Pinterest. Similarly, I've heard of Farmtale(?) because I've seen a comic or two where other AU Sanses fall into his world.

It's kind of impressive, honestly, considering the fact that I do not seek out AU content at all- this is all entirely just through seeing stuff while trying to look for Classic content- almost all of which is completely separated from their AU worlds and focused more on the Sanses interacting with other versions of themselves.

(oh, also, I guess technically Handplates falls into AU category! I consider it so close to classic that I didn't think to put it here; in my mind, it's less of an AU and more of just an interpretation or extrapolation of Classic. I'm a fan)

ALL OF THAT BEING SAID!!!

I consider everyone's own interpretation of Sans (and all other characters) as their own Sans- it's a fun way to look at it; you can't 'get it wrong', because every interpretation is its own individual. I like to think that every download of Undertale is its own version of the world, and so everyone gets their own cast to be friends with and have fun with! So, in my case, that means that MY copy of everyone never had to deal with full resets (only the couple times where I died and got sent back to a save point, never a full reset) and now they're living happy on the surface. Same with my original copy from way back in 2016 on the family computer. Then I have another of my own, separate copy of the UT cast that exists in my art! If that makes sense!

I hope this answer was satisfactory and not too terribly long!!! If you guys want to request AU characters I might draw them but I won't make any promises; like I said, my interest, and therefore my art, focuses on the classic characters. But! Some AU designs are cool so I might take them for a spin if asked.
