I love weird, unusual, what-was-the-architect-thinking houses, and this 1966 stone house in Sublette, KS not only has 3bds, 3ba, 2,736 sq ft, but it can be yours for $499k.
Two-story entrance hall with stone pillars, stone floor, ledges, wood paneling, plank ceilings, and carpeted stairs. The keyword here is "texture."
In true mid-century modern fashion, there's a conversation pit around a fireplace. However, all of the walls are stone, the windows are round, and the fireplace is unconventional in design.
The rest of the living room. I'm not understanding why there are doors and then one pillar away there's a large opening, that they've blocked with a table. The primary bedroom is also open, but has large sliding doors.
The living room and rounded bedroom have carpeted flooring.
The main bath has a long entrance lined with closets.
At the end of the closet hall there's a sunken tub with original tile. Look at the little tile mural in the wall, too.
Then here, there's a family room with a corner fireplace. Note the niches in the walls.
In the middle, there's a large area with a dramatic focal point. There's an opening and a fountain, so I would imagine that you can sit in there. Large light above- not sure if it's a skylight or a light fixture.
This view reminds me of a furniture showroom.
So, the kitchen is nice. It looks like it's open to a patio.
The cabinetry is lovely and there's plenty storage.
Going up the stairs, I like the railing.
The 2nd bedroom is up here and it's also got a wide opening. Both bedrooms seem to have very large sliding doors that close for privacy.
This must be used as a guest room b/c it has a luggage rack. Love that desk.
But check out the little guest house.
It has a large fireplace, bed, and room for a sitting area.
The bath is small, but it has a large closet.
Large private walled patio with a pergola is at the back of the house.

Researching as a Writer
Start Broad
begin with a list of more general topics and get specific as you go.
for example, research for a historical fantasy novel might follow a chain that looks like this:
life in the 1700s -> life in 1700s france -> 1700s french etiquette and lifestyle depending on class -> 1720s french fashion for middle and upper-middle class women.
starting with a general understanding of the topic you want to cover and narrowing down to specifics will make it easier to build on your knowledge as you go.
Think Critically
consider the source. if it doesn’t cite primary sources (for example, letters and photographs from a specific era and location), what sources does it cite? follow those sources if possible.
is the information reliable? is it provided by an educational institution or an expert on the subject?
who is the author? do they present any bias? what do they have to gain by promoting a specific mindset or conclusion? has any of their research been debunked?
Anecdotes
in general, anecdotal evidence is not sufficient for academic writing. luckily for you, this is a fiction writing page, and anecdotal evidence is usually fine!
work with a combination of scholarly sources and personal experience. if you’re trying to depict a specific health condition, you might consult medical sources about the technical details of the condition, as well as seeking firsthand accounts from people who have that condition.
remember that people are not monolithic! there are often forums online where people are more than happy to discuss their experiences; cross-consult these for common elements.
Lists
keep track of your sources!! if you ever need to consult something later on, it will be way easier to open a list of resources than go digging through your search history.
additionally, if you come across lists of sources compiled by other people, save those!! you are probably not the first person to research the specific topic you’re looking into, and there are entire websites dedicated to gathering research!
wordsnstuffblog.com/research has compilations of sources for everything from writing injuries to global period pieces by century.
Resources
if you can, check out your school or public library’s websites! they will often compile scholarly resources to access for free.
look for open access or open source sites like project gutenberg that archive and digitize historical documents and other works. scienceopen and the directory of open access journals are more of these. search using keywords!
keep an eye out for websites made specifically for educational purposes (those with .edu at the end of their addresses).

Has Flying been considered for the Blue/Red keyword, leaving you with the task of seraching another one for Blue/White? I understand Red is not primary in Flying, but it gets more than Green at least.
Red only gets flying on (mostly) rare Dragons. We need the overlap at low rarities.

Trafficking with Demons: Magic, Ritual, and Gender from Late Antiquity to 1000
"Trafficking with Demons" fills a much-needed gap in the scholarship of magic, covering broadly the 4th to the 10th centuries CE. Working with a breadth of literary sources, Martha Rampton explores the nature of magic and the ramifications of the restrictions set by Christian authorities during this period, particularly for women. The legacy of these changes still affects our understanding of magic today, making this book valuable to anyone interested in the early history of magic in Europe.
Martha Rampton’s two primary goals with this book were to define in specific terms what “magic” meant and to examine how that meaning changed over time. She divides the book into four parts, with the last three focusing on specific time periods rather than themes. In Part One, Rampton summarizes the historiography of the study of magic, from Augustine in the 5th century to modern authors like James Frazer, as well as her source material. She pulls from various ancient and early medieval literary sources, including law codes, medical texts, sermons, and treatises, to analyze the concept of "magic." Using this historiography, she also creates some parameters for keywords, such as “ritual” and “demon,” that feature heavily in the rest of the book. In Parts Two to Four, Rampton asks why identifying magic was so important to early Christian authorities. The author argues that the fierce competition with Roman paganism and the hostile environment of the Roman Empire caused early Christianity to struggle for legitimacy, which they attempted to create by separating Christian rituals from pagan magic.
While Rampton accomplishes her first goal of defining “magic” in Part One, it is her second goal of examining changes in magic over time that haunts this book. Parts Two to Four suffer from a lack of signposting of the changes Rampton wants to highlight, the true significance of which only becomes clear in the book's last two chapters. Rampton intended these middle chapters to show changes to how different types of magic were conceptualized and the reactions of religious authorities, but often the changes are so subtle that they are lost in the wealth of evidence she provides. The repetition of sub-headings (e.g. Poison, Divination) also blurs the individual sections together. Including images of the manuscripts she references would have enlivened the book and introduced some variety into these sections. Given that these parts form the main body of the book, it is a shame that it is so hard to follow Rampton’s argument.
The other major element of Rampton’s argument is the relationship between magic and gender. By "gender," Rampton seems to mean “women” only. While the role of women in magic in this period is not the book's focus, it increases in significance as the chapters progress. The crux of Rampton’s argument is that, by 800 CE, magic and the female power that had come to be inherent in it was seen as ineffective. A more interesting point that Rampton makes is how exactly magic came to be associated primarily with women. From the Roman rituals of religious ecstasy being seen as “womanish” to a 9th-century court case in which an empress was accused of using love magic, Rampton argues that the change hinged on how early Christianity legitimized itself in contrast to paganism. As Christian authorities worked to define and professionalize “acceptable” magic, such as prophecy and miracles, in the 5th to 7th centuries, access for women was increasingly cut off by their lack of training (and their inability to obtain that training). This meant that female magic practitioners could only access the “unacceptable” magic, while the “acceptable” was separated from the concept of magic itself, indelibly intertwining women with magic.
Martha Rampton is Professor of History at Pacific University. Overall, Rampton argues persuasively for why the Late Antique and Early Medieval periods were crucially transitional for the concept of magic. The wealth and breadth of evidence presented in this book is undeniable. At the very least, this book should be well-received as a literary sourcebook for magic in these periods. However, its true value is to be found in the argument that Rampton unspools in the background of every chapter: a point of no return was crossed when women were forever associated with (malicious) magic. It is the legacy of that shift that accounts for why in the Western world today we think of a woman when we hear the word “witch”.

Hi, I have a question of attribution/provenance regarding a quote you posted about Nixon a while back (like, years back 😅). The quote was this:
"Can you imagine what this man could have been had somebody loved him? Had somebody in his life cared for him? I don't think anybody ever did, not his parents, not his peers. He would have been a great, great man had somebody loved him." - Henry Kissinger in an interview TIME's Hugh Sidey.
I think this is a significant insight into understanding Nixon, but I'm interested in finding the primary source in full. The quote has been tossed around a bunch and I tried to find the original interview, but couldn't find that particular column via google or the Time Magazine archive.
It's cited in Evan Thomas's Being Nixon, but I don't own that book and the Internet Archive doesn't have a digital version either. Based on my snooping through the keyword search preview, and the fact that the quote is cited in other articles pre-2015, I think it might have first been printed outside of the interview itself in Ambrose's Nixon: Ruin and Recovery? But I don't own that either. So if you have a link/copy of the interview, or any earlier source that gives more info (like, what issue of Time was it published in?), I'd really really appreciate it.
Thank you so much if you take the time to answer this, and for all the work you've done and posts you've made over the years on here! I'vd been following since like 2015 or so.
First of all, thanks for following for so long and for the nice comments.
I agree that it's a fascinating and insightful quote about who Richard Nixon was and what he could have been.
I did a little bit of digging after getting your question because I do have copies of Being Nixon and Nixon: Ruin and Recovery, and have also worked very hard over the years to track down as many of Hugh Sidey's "The Presidency" columns that he published in LIFE Magazine and TIME Magazine from the mid-1960s until the early 2000s. Sidey had excellent relationships and access to every President from JFK to George W. Bush, so his columns were invaluable windows into the institution of the Presidency and the personality of the Presidents he covered.
I'm not sure where I saw the Kissinger quote about Nixon originally, but Being Nixon (BOOK | KINDLE | AUDIO) by Evan Thomas cites Stephen E. Ambrose's Nixon, Volume 3: Ruin and Recovery, 1973-1990 (BOOK | KINDLE) as his source. I was hoping that there was a clear example of the quote from one of Sidey's many columns over the decades, but when I tracked down the citation in Ambrose's book, it apparently came from Sidey when Ambrose interviewed him while researching Ruin and Recovery. In the notes, Ambrose cites an author interview with Hugh Sidey on February 27, 1990 as the source of the Kissinger quote. I wish there was a more straightforward source of the quote because it is such an important one, but hopefully that helps out a little bit. I don't know if Ambrose's papers are available online anywhere, but if so, that 1990 interview with Sidey would be the place to look for more information.

[🏠] sad because it just hurts | boynextdoor agere one-shot
paring : cg!taesanx little!leehan x babysitters!sungho & jaehyun
summary : taesan, woonhak and riwoo decide to leave early in the morning- unknowingly leaving behind a regressed leehan. sunho and jaehyun try and make it better, but poor leehan just isn't having it.
warning/extra tid-bits : separation anxiety, overstimulating emotions, kinda non-verbal leehan, crying
word count : 1,430 + not proof-read
divider credit : umm i found all the photos on pinterest :3 and jelly fishies from @saradika-graphics
a/n : their hair colors in this are just my fav hair colors for them, idk if they actually had all of these at the same time :<
This morning sucked. Leehan woke up and felt like he’d been hit with a pile of bricks, a fuzzy cloud looming over his head- begging for him to indulge and stupidly, he’d forgotten to check that Taesan- his primary caregiver- was home before he did.
He thought he’d be okay, Sungho and Jaehyun had stayed behind- opting to sleep in instead of going to the market with Riwoo, Taesan and Woonhak.
Keyword, thought.
It became evidently clear that while Sungho and Jaehyun were amazing babysitters- they weren’t his caregiver, his Taesannie, his kitty. Very quickly, Leehan’s mood turned sour. His ability to form word gradually grew more difficult, a lump forming in throat and a knot tying in his stomach.
Leehan frowned, slumping in his seat as he pushed his food around with his chopsticks. As his frown grew deeper, his eyes wandered from the food to his fish tank that was in front of him- great, now his eyes were watering.
“Hannie? What’s wrong, did Yeppi not make it right?” Sungho questioned, his brows furrowing in concern as he realized the little had yet to take a single bite of the meal he’d prepared.
Leehan shrugged wordlessly, just casting his gaze towards the fish tank- a deep set sadness evident on his face.
Sungho’s worry grew, had he done something wrong?
The brunette thought for a moment before a lightbulb appeared in the back of his mind. Quickly, the vocalist rushed towards the leader’s door- not bothering to knock.
“Dude! Knock next time!” Jaehyun scolded, though his tone made it obvious he wasn’t actually mad. “What’s wrong? Where’s the little fish?” He asked, peering behind the man in his doorway.
“I need help.” Sungho admitted, leaning against the wooden doorframe. Jaehyun’s brows furrowed together as he sat up straight, “What’s wrong?” He asked- tone sincere.
“He won’t eat,” The man in the doorway explained, moving slightly as Jaehyun moved past him and towards the dining table. “Guppy?” Jaehyun called out, making Leehan’s eyes drift away from the fish tank. His glossy eyes looked up at his leader, waiting for him to continue.
Jaehyun crouched down to be eye-level with the sitting little, tilting his head ever so slightly at the boy’s sad expression. “What’s going on guppy?” Jaehyun questioned, eyes glancing down to Leehan’s untouched food- “Are you feeling okay?”
Leehan only shrugged, mumbling with his mouth closed as he looked away from the black-haired man. Jaehyun sighed, looking up at Sungho who looked equally disappointed. “C’mon, open up.” The leader cleared his throat, plucking the chopsticks from Leehan’s fingertips and fixing the perfect bite- in his humble opinion.
“Say ahh~” Jaehyun sing-songed, his classic grin plastered on his face as he held the food in front of Leehan’s lips- cupping his hand under the bite of food just in case his grip on the chopsticks faltered.
Leehan craned his neck in the opposite direction, a firm ‘no’ echoing around his head. Externally, the curly-haired blonde’s face wrinkled up and his glossy eyes grew wetter.
Sungho crouched down next to Jaehyun, adding to Leehan’s frustration. Why couldn’t they just understand that Leehan wanted to be alone?
Well…he didn’t really wanna be alone. He wanted his kitty, he wanted to be held and told that everything was gonna be okay. Alone with Taesan, that’s what Leehan wanted.
The conflicting feelings made the knot in Leehan’s stomach tighter and the lump in his throat thicker, the uncomfortable dining table chair hurting his legs and the gloss from his tears making his vision blurry.
Everything was either too much or just plain wrong.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, Leehan felt chopsticks grazing his lips- making any emotions he was already battling 10x stronger.
The curly-haired blonde pushed Jaehyun’s hand away- not caring that he caused the leader to drop some food on the floor. Leehan swallowed the lump in his throat to the best of his ability before speaking, “Bein’ mean jaehyunnie…” The little pouted, growing frustrated with the leader’s persistent actions.
Jaehyun’s eyebrows knit together, surprisingly hurt by Leehan’s accusation. “I’m not being mean, I just want you to eat.” Jaehyun attempted to explain. Leehan shook his head back and forth rapidly- making himself slightly dizzy.
Frustrated tears threatened to spill from his boba-like eyes, “You are! Mean ‘hyunnie!” The little’s emotions spilled out like an overflowing cup of water; hot tears sticking to his bareface which only added to how wrong Leehan felt.
Jaehyun’s heart sank as the little’s tears spilled out, quickly discarding the chopsticks to the side and opening his arms- an invitation for the distressed boy to receive comfort.
Leehan shook his head, wrapping his arms around himself and dissolving into quiet sniffles and tears. Sungho and Jaehyun shared a look of concern, silently asking each other what to do. “Hannie,” Sungho made sure to keep his voice soft, as to not upset the little any further. “Hannie, Yeppi and Hyunnie can’t help if we don’t know what’s wrong.” He tried explaining.
Leehan whimpered, shaking his head and taking multiple shaky breaths to try and stop his sniffles. “You’re going to make yourself sick.” Jaehyun said, reaching out and placing a gentle hand on the blonde’s arm.
Leehan’s lip quivered as he hugged himself tighter, trying to replicate the feeling of Taesan’s arms around him. Sungho bit his lip anxiously, thinking silently to himself as Jaehyun ran a soothing arm up and down Leehan’s hoodie sleeve.
“Should we call Taesan-ah?” Sungho suggested, instantly capturing Leehan’s attention. Jaehyun noticed this, perking up at how the little seemed to calm at just the mention of his primary caregiver; the leader quickly dug into the pocket of his hood- retrieving his phone and unlocking it.
Leehan leaned towards Jaehyun, teary eyes glued to the leader’s phone screen as he scrolled through his contacts- pressing his thumb on Taesan’s contact.
Jaehyun put the phone on speaker, smiling at Sungho at how Leehan’s tears were beginning to dry. Sungho returned the smile, proud of his idea.
Ring, ring, ring…
“What?” Taesan’s voice rang out from the phone’s speaker. Leehan’s face instantly brightened, bumping shoulders with Jaehyun in an attempt to be closer to the phone.
“Someone-” Jaehyun was cut off. “We’re about to pay, can I call you back in-” Taesan cut himself off this time, “Where’s Leehan?” He asked- tone now serious.
Leehan wriggled in excitement in his seat, a toothy smile growing on his face. “Kitty!” He chirped, making both babysitter’s heart’s melt. Taesan let out a breath of relief, “Hi guppy.” He smiled.
“Someone’s been missing you all morning.” Sungho spoke up, “And dealing with some pretty big feelings.” Jaehyun tacked on- making Taesan frown. “Is that true, Leehan-ah?” The black-haired man asked.
Leehan sunk into Jaehyun’s side, letting out a small “uh-huh” noise.
“K-” Taesan cut himself off, realizing he was still in public. “Sannie will be there in ten minutes, okay?”
Leehan looked up at Sungho excitedly, who gave him a reassuring smile. “Hurry ‘ome, kitty.” The little whined, his usual demeanor already creeping back into his tone. Taesan laughed, before promising he would and thanking Jaehyun and Sungho for dialing him.
Leehan wasted no time bouncing up from the sofa as soon as he heard the door to the dorms open. “Kitty!” He chirped, grateful that Riwoo and Woonhak moved out of his way- creating the perfect path for Leehan to tackle his caregiver into a hug.
Taesan smiled, holding his little close and breathing in the familiar scent of his peach scented shampoo. “Hi guppy,” The caregiver hummed, allowing the little to bury his face into his jacket.
“Were you good?” Taesan asked, a raised eyebrow pairing perfectly with his tone. Leehan’s cheeks tinted a soft shade of pink as he shrugged- causing Taesan to look towards the two babysitters who were obviously exhausted from their morning with the little.
“Apologize to Hyunnie and Yeppi, please.” Taesan’s tone was firm, yet soft. He wasn’t mad at his little- he never could be mad at Leehan…but it was important that the regressed boy didn’t forget his manners.
Leehan whined slightly before pulling away from his caregiver, sheepishly gazing towards the floor. “M’ sorry for callin’ ‘ou a meanie…and for spillin’ m’ food…” Leehan apologized, Sungho and Jaehyun smiled at the blonde.
“It’s alright Hannie, be good for your Kitty- yeah?” Sungho bent down slightly to meet Leehan’s gaze. Leehan nodded eagerly, grabbing Taesan’s hand and pulling him towards the stairs. Taesan laughed, looking towards the two babysitters and mouthing a quick- yet sincere- “Thank you.”

Product design and psychology: The Role of Grinding in Video Game Design
Keywords: Grinding, Video Gaming, Game Design, Player Engagement, Psychological Manipulation

Abstract:
This paper scrutinizes the utilization of "grinding" as a technique in video game design, particularly as a method of psychological manipulation that affects player engagement and behaviour. Case studies are explored to deliver a comprehensive understanding of the practical application of grinding and its implications, all from a product design viewpoint.
Introduction:
The design principles governing video games frequently incorporate mechanisms intended to stimulate player engagement and prolong interaction time. One such prevalent mechanism is "grinding," defined as the practice of executing repetitive tasks within the game environment to achieve specific objectives. While grinding can evoke a sense of achievement, it also carries the potential to induce exhaustion and frustration among players. This study endeavours to explore the intricacies of grinding, its role in game design, and its influence on player experience.
Explanation:
Coined from the concept of persistently "grinding away" at a task, the term "grinding" in the gaming context implies the undertaking of repetitive actions by a player to attain certain results or to advance within the game. In numerous instances, such actions may not directly correlate with the game's primary storyline or objectives but are aimed at accumulating experience points, in-game currency, or specialized items.
Grinding is an omnipresent component across a vast array of game genres, with its prominence notably manifested in Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPGs). In these games, the player's progression and performance are often gauged based on their character's level, skills, and available equipment.
From the standpoint of game design, grinding assumes several roles. It serves to extend the game's lifespan by instituting goals that necessitate substantial time investment. Additionally, it fosters a sense of accomplishment and progression and can encourage social interaction in multiplayer environments. Despite these advantages, critics contend that grinding can lead to monotonous and ungratifying gameplay experiences. The considerable time commitment required by grinding may propel some players towards purchasing in-game enhancements using real-world money, thereby generating additional revenue for game developers.
Further, there is an ongoing discourse concerning the psychological implications of grinding. Its repetitive and rewarding nature might precipitate addictive behaviours and excessive consumption of time, mirroring the effects typically associated with gambling disorders. Through the exploration of these aspects, we aim to shed light on the complex dynamics of grinding in the context of modern video gaming.
Grinding in Gaming: Conceptualization and Design
Grinding typically refers to the act of performing repetitive actions in a game to attain a specific goal, often associated with levelling up, obtaining items, or advancing in-game skills. Although it can give players a sense of progression, it can also serve as a roadblock, encouraging players to consider alternative paths to progress, such as microtransactions.
Case Study: World of Warcraft
Blizzard Entertainment's World of Warcraft (WoW) extensively employs grinding. Players often engage in repetitive tasks like fighting the same enemies, repeatedly battling against non-player characters (NPCs), or completing the same quests to increase their character's level, to gain experience points, in-game currency, or rare items. This grind contributes to a sense of achievement but has also been criticized for sometimes leading to a tedious gameplay experience.
youtube
Case Study: Candy Crush Saga
King's Candy Crush Saga uses grinding as a monetization strategy. As players progress and levels become harder, the option to grind through the game becomes more attractive. Alternatively, players can buy power-ups and boosters to surpass the grind, effectively translating grinding mechanics into revenue for the game developers.
Case Study: Destiny 2
This game provides an example of a 'loot grind.' Players repeatedly complete activities like strikes, raids, or public events to earn 'engrams' – randomized gear drops. The goal is often to collect more powerful gear to increase a character's power level.
youtube
Case Study: Old School RuneScape
In this MMORPG, players might grind by repetitively performing tasks like mining, fishing, or woodcutting. These actions, though monotonous, boost the player's skill levels, enabling them to perform new tasks, quests, or create new items.
Implications for Game Design
Grinding, while a tool to extend game playtime and potentially drive monetization, must be thoughtfully implemented to avoid player fatigue or burnout. Game designers should strike a balance between meaningful progression and repetitive grind, ensuring the game remains engaging and satisfying.
Conclusion
Grinding, as a mechanism of psychological manipulation in video game design, can greatly impact player behaviour and engagement. Striking a balance between challenge, satisfaction, and repetition is vital to ensure a rewarding gameplay experience. As the video game industry advances, it will be intriguing to observe the evolution and refinement of grinding mechanisms and their psychological impact on players.

How to Write SEO-Friendly Blog Posts
In today’s digital landscape, writing a blog post is not just about putting words on a page — it’s about ensuring your content gets found by the right audience. That’s where SEO (Search Engine Optimization) comes in. An SEO-friendly blog post strikes the perfect balance between user-friendly content and search engine best practices.
Whether you're a content creator, digital marketer, or business owner, learning how to write SEO-friendly blog posts can dramatically improve your website traffic and online visibility.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you craft blog content that ranks well on search engines and engages your readers.
1. Start with Keyword Research
Before writing anything, identify the keywords your audience is searching for. These are the words and phrases typed into Google or other search engines.
How to do it:
Use tools like Google Keyword Planner, Ubersuggest, Ahrefs, or SEMRush
Focus on long-tail keywords (e.g., “best running shoes for flat feet” instead of “running shoes”)
Consider search intent – is the user looking for information, buying a product, or comparing options?
Pro Tip: Target one primary keyword and 2–3 secondary keywords in each blog post.
2. Craft a Compelling, SEO-Friendly Title
Your blog title should include the primary keyword while also being attention-grabbing. It’s often the first thing users see in search results, so make it count.
Tips:
Keep the title under 60 characters
Add numbers, questions, or power words to spark interest (e.g., “10 Proven Ways to Write SEO-Friendly Blog Posts”)
Place the main keyword near the beginning of the title
3. Write an Engaging Introduction
The first few lines of your post should hook the reader and make them want to read more. Introduce the topic clearly and mention your target keyword early — ideally within the first 100 words.
Example: “Want to get your blog noticed by Google and real people? Writing SEO-friendly blog posts is your key to better visibility and higher traffic.”
4. Structure Your Content with Headings (H1, H2, H3)
Using a clear structure helps both readers and search engines understand your content.
Use H1 for the main blog title (only one per post)
Use H2s for major sections
Use H3s or H4s for subpoints under each section
Why it matters: Headings break your content into manageable chunks and improve readability — both of which contribute to better SEO.
5. Optimize for Readability
Google favors content that is easy to read. If your blog post is hard to understand, people will bounce — and that’s bad for SEO.
How to improve readability:
Use short paragraphs (2–4 lines)
Include bullet points and numbered lists
Use simple language
Avoid jargon unless your audience is technical
6. Use Keywords Naturally
Sprinkle your primary and secondary keywords throughout the content — but don’t overdo it.
Best practices:
Include the keyword in the title, first paragraph, subheadings, and meta description
Aim for a keyword density of 1–2%
Use LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) keywords — related phrases and synonyms
Important: Avoid keyword stuffing, which can hurt your rankings.
7. Add Internal and External Links
Linking is crucial for SEO and user experience.
Internal links guide readers to other useful content on your site
External links (to reputable sources) show search engines that your content is well-researched
Example: If you mention “SEO tools,” link to your blog post about “Top 10 Free SEO Tools for Beginners.”
8. Optimize Images
Images enhance engagement, but they also offer SEO opportunities.
Checklist:
Use descriptive file names (e.g., seo-friendly-blog.jpg)
Add alt text with relevant keywords
Compress images to improve page loading speed
9. Write a Compelling Meta Description
The meta description doesn’t directly affect rankings, but it influences click-through rate (CTR).
Tips:
Keep it under 160 characters
Include the main keyword
Make it persuasive and clear
Example: “Learn how to write SEO-friendly blog posts that rank on Google and attract more readers with these 9 expert tips.”
10. Update and Promote Your Post
Even the best-written content needs exposure and maintenance.
Share on social media, email newsletters, and forums
Monitor performance using Google Analytics and Google Search Console
Update outdated posts with fresh stats and links every few months
Final Thoughts
Writing SEO-friendly blog posts is a skill that combines content writing, technical SEO, and an understanding of user behavior. By following these steps — from keyword research to readability and promotion — you’ll be creating blog content that not only ranks well but also provides real value to your audience.
Remember: SEO isn’t about gaming the algorithm; it’s about delivering relevant, high-quality content that search engines and users love.

How does miscecanis work?
Such a broad question. A bit difficult to understand what exactly do you mean. I'll give a summed up version of what Miscecanis is from what I've gathered observing people in my midst in my omegaverse server to this day all the way to the time I came up with the term alongside @spaceyomega, in June 23rd, 2020. First things first: Here's the original Miscecanis post in case you're curious. Here's also the Miscecanis Pride flags that were created this year by yours truly: Miscecanis Pride Flag & Omega Pride Flag (this latter one gives you acess to the other 3). So looking at these two (or three) links side by side you see there's a bit of a shift in perspective in a way. There's a few keywords to be brought up here: Lifestyle vs Identity. When Miscecanis started I was adamant in separating it from gender identity or otherkin. Because let's make one thing clear here: No, I (and I'm speaking solely for myself here, no one else) do not believe we are all secretly wolf people for realsies, and we're something other than human. So to me, in the beggining it made more sense to just define Miscecanis as a lifestyle. Something you adhere to in order to better and benefit your own life. And this still holds water to this day for me, I don't denouce this way of thinking. On the other hand! The more I came in contact with people that were identifiying with my new term, there seemed to be some patterns. These people often seemed to mix in the miscecanis thing with their gender identify. Some even calling the dynamics their secondary gender outside of the fanfiction space (which I do not particularly like, more on that in a minute) or even their primary gender. Now do I find these people to be wrong? No. Not really. I came to understand that to many gender non-conforming people, identifying as an Omega, Alpha, Beta, or any other dynamics BEFORE or even alongside identifiying with a "human gender" granted them an immense amount of relief and comfort. In many cases even aliviating feelings of dysphoria or dismorphia. And funnily enough, I realized I was one of these poeple myself. I see myself as an Alpha first, and a human gender second. Almost like the dynamics is more important, like the human one bears less weight in my identiy and life than the miscecanis one. Now, do I like calling it a GENDER? No I do not. To me it's a construction with a whoooooole lot of weight and history behind it. Omegaverse, that is. I don't like conflating it directly with a gender. I like keeping the word DYNAMICS. And you'll never catch me using the term "secondary gender" when talking about the dynamics, unless is to talk about how other people view things and feel, be it about fictional verses or miscecanis culture itself. Obviously this is just my opinion, but I think the word Dynamics is much more serviceable. Because it's implies interaction between Omegaverse and your gender identy. Something apart that influences something you already possess. Close neighbours. two different colours: Gender is White and Alpha/Beta/Omega/Other dynamics is Red, and when you mix it, you get Pink, which then makes the whole of You.
This is all my perspective though. Y'all are free to disagree, or add on to it.
#omegaverse#alpha beta omega#a/b/o#alpha/beta/omega#alpha/beta/omega dynamics#alpha/beta/omega verse#a/b/o verse#pack-the-pack answers#a/b/o au#a/b/o dynamics#misce community#miscelupus#misce#misceanimalis#miscecanis

So I rarely see ocs (except for my own) that are Canadian but with canon characters 🤔 … I’ve seen a few! But have you ever noticed when there are Canadians represented in any media, almost always it’s specifically French-Canadians? Which I mean good for the French Canadians/Quebecois for getting represented but I do wonder why foreign writers always choose them to represent Canada. Perhaps that’s the most Canadian they can imagine a Canadian 😆 anyway I just wanted to talk about this observation I’ve had lol
As for me!! I like to place my ocs in whatever country fits the setting if that makes sense? But if I can! In order to heal my inner child, who would always make their ocs white because that’s what they were taught was the only appealing kind of character, I like to make my OC Asian (context for anyone else reading this I am Asian I promise I’m not being weird by specifically choosing Asians 😭!)! It varies what kinda Asian depending on the story but lately I’ve been leaning towards South East Asian to show the representation I so desperately craved as a kid /lh! And if I can!! I make them Asian Canadian! Since that’s a whole other ballpark in terms of representation that I would love to see more! (I say this while only having like 2 lol. Hey! In my defense a lot of my stories or fandoms take place in fantasy settings!).
Last thing I’ll mention is one time I once read a Naruto fanfic where they were Canadian specifically living in Ottawa that was an absolutely brilliant read. More people should write stories with characters from Canada or with Canadian characters.
Thank you so, so much for answering my question and sending this in. This was so fascinating to read and I really enjoyed your thoughts. It’s really cool that you’ve seen a few canon characters that are Canadian. I get what you mean though – Canadians are often represented either in the French Canadian/Quebecois stereotypes and such or they’re represented, I’ve found, in that overly friendly, aw shucks, good old boy, super peaceful and kind of hippie-ish stereotype. I mean, I can’t say that particular stereotype doesn’t fit any Canadians, but it definitely doesn’t fit all of them! I’d like some of these foreign writers to just spend a full weekend in Toronto or Montreal and then see if they still agree with those representations, haha 😂
You know I’m such a fan of your OCs so it’s interesting to hear how you go about making them in regards to that. I definitely get your reasoning behind placing them in the country that does fit the setting. As you point out, too, a lot of your stories do take place in fantasy settings, where race, country of origin, and ethnicity isn’t always the same as the world we live in. I do love, though, that you try, when you can, to give yourself the representation that you wanted growing up. I’m so sorry that you, and anyone else, was taught that white or white passing OCs were the ‘better’ ones, though I can definitely understand why you would have internalized that. Having been in fandom as long as I have been, I can’t argue with that having been the trend and primary thing we were all seeing at some point. It was shocking, back in my early fandom days, to see OCs who were anything other than white, thin, heteronormative and female. I think that, over the many, many years I’ve actively been part of fandoms, that representation among OCs has definitely become more accepted and more varied. It's one of the newer fandom trends that I’m all fucking in on.
Also, I know totally want to read that Naruto fanfic. I’m going to have to google search the hell out of the keywords to find it because it’s something my life will now be incomplete without.

Optimizing video titles, descriptions, and tags helps improve rankings, increases discoverability, and boosts engagement. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll explore how to optimize these elements effectively.

Let’s break down how to optimize each element for maximum reach and engagement.
Optimizing YouTube Video Titles

YouTube prioritizes keywords in the first 100-150 characters, so include the primary keyword early.
2. Write a Detailed, Natural-Sounding Description
A well-structured description should include:
An engaging opening with the main topic.
A summary of the video content with relevant keywords.
Call-to-action (CTA) to encourage likes, comments, and subscriptions.
Timestamps for longer videos.
Links to related content, social media, or website.

Timestamps make navigation easier and improve watch time.

Hashtags help categorize content and improve discoverability.
Optimizing YouTube Video Tags
1. Use Primary and Secondary Keywords
Tags should include exact-match keywords and variations.
2. Use Long-Tail Keywords
Long-tail keywords improve chances of ranking for specific queries.
3. Include Competitor and Trending Tags
Research competitors’ tags using tools like VidIQ or TubeBuddy.

If you have a brand or recurring content series, include branded tags.
Additional YouTube SEO Best Practices

Thumbnails impact CTR and engagement. Best practices:

2. Encourage Engagement Signals
The YouTube algorithm favors videos with high engagement:
Ask viewers to like, comment, and share
