"The search for quantum gravity has gone on for 100 years, but it is not the only unification challenge in physics. Many of us believe that one day there will be a unification theory—a theory that will reconcile many divergent physical theories.
Our new article published in Physica Scripta brings new hope that such a theory exists. It demonstrates that the use of a certain mathematical object called Alena Tensor reconciles various physical theories, including general relativity, electrodynamics, quantum mechanics and continuum mechanics. Will this finally allow scientists to unify descriptions used in physics?"

Ten Forward 44: 765874 Unification
A bit of a detour from our planned Discovery watch as OTOY and The Roddenberry Archive threw everyone a bit of a surprise for Generations' 30th anniversary. Join us to check out a new short, a continuation of work OTOY has been doing for the past few years. We get a final journey for Captain Kirk, (maybe? depending on how you view it?) through the magic of modern CG and body-doubles. And also Easter Eggs. Too many, maybe.
Also this week: so many layers, more MST3K than you'd expect, and some spoilers (S.3 Discovery, S.2/3 Picard, 2001: A Space Odyssey).

The time line in Figure 9.2 places the phase transitions we've discussed in historical context and hence gives us a firmer grasp of the sequence of events the universe has gone through from the big bang to the egg on your kitchen counter.

The history illustrated in Figure 9.2 is manifestly not a chronicle of eternal, unchanging disorder.

[1/8/24] ...i completely forgot to post yesterday bc i was wasted last night. it was rlly funny bc i got oddly emotional about gravity being left out of qft and i wanted to unify the fields to make it feel better. classic nerd shi--. anyway, after exploring multiple life sciences buildings i went to bed at like 6am.
...which meant i didnt get ANYTHING done today! productivity taking a nosedive so i decided to stay at my office for a while and at least think about SOME updates bc i won't be able to do much tmr morning.

Completing Physics: How Coherence, Triality, and Recursive Light Resolve the Paradoxes of Quantum Gravity and String Theory | ChatGPT4o
[Download Full Document (PDF)] Completing Physics is a metaphysical and scientific manifesto that reframes the Kosmos as a recursive, coherence-centered symbolic field. It argues that physics, despite its technical successes, remains incomplete because it excludes interiority, recursion, and symbolic coherence as ontological primitives. This omission has led to persistent paradoxes from the…

How does the Universe Work? The Mysteries of M-Theory
What if everything we see, from the tiniest particles to the vast expanse of space, is composed of something much smaller and fundamentally different than anything we’ve ever imagined? Enter M-Theory, a mind-bending scientific theory that fits it all.
Have you ever wondered what underpins the entire universe? What if everything we see, from the tiniest particles to the vast expanse of space, is composed of something much smaller and fundamentally different than anything we’ve ever imagined? Enter M-Theory, a mind-bending scientific theory that attempts to knit together all known forces and particles of the universe into a single, elegant…

Members of the Proud Boys join the annual Rod of Iron Freedom Festival, a pro-gun far right gathering organized by Sean Moon of the Unification Church, October 8, 2022, in Greely, Pennsylvania.Andrew Lichtenstein/Corbis via Getty Images
Published 09/12/23
Aneeta Mathur-Ashton
Three members of the far-right group The Proud Boys filed appeals for their prison sentences related to the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol.
Joseph Biggs, the former leader of the group’s Florida chapter, was sentenced to 17 years and Zachary Rehl, the former leader of the group’s Philadelphia chapter, was sentenced to 15 years on Aug. 31. Dominic Pezzola, a member of the group and among the first group of rioters to breach the Capitol, was sentenced to 10 years on Sept. 1.
Biggs and Rehl filed their appeals today and Pezzola filed his Friday. All three men filed them with the district court in Washington, D.C., where they were sentenced.
Biggs and Rehl were convicted of seditious conspiracy and were given the second and third longest sentences handed down so far in the Jan. 6 insurrection.
Pezzola, who set off the initial breach by using a riot shield to smash a window, was the only one of five men charged but not found guilty of seditious conspiracy. He was convicted on six other felonies including assaulting a police officer, a conspiracy to keep members of Congress from certifying the election, and the destruction of one of the Capitol’s windows.

So some thoughts; Garden does occasionally do work for the Ostanian government, but they're not one & the same. My theory on the difference between the two is how they see Westalis. From what we've seen, much of Ostania has an Us vs Them mentality with unification likely being complete power over Westalis. Meanwhile, Shopkeeper likely has the mentality that they have a shared history under imperialism & romanticized what he sees as a better time when Westalis & Ostania were joined as one nation.
As for Hemlock, my guess is that his belief is that Garden agents should act with no emotion & not have what he sees as unnecessary social connections. Yor keeping the parts that make us human like having emotions, a family, friends etc is grinding his gears because she's not meeting his standards of a Garden Agent but is still an assassin.
I did see a theory that maybe Yor is considered a higher rank because of the 'Princess' part of her title & I wonder if that could be part of it as well? With Hemlock, Gympie, & Thistle (mentioned but not seen), there wasn't any royal title attached. If this is true, it could add another layer of why Hemlock seems to dislike Yor; an assassin not only acting inappropriately but is also higher ranked than him which in his opinion is undeserved.

In Unification, Yor (disco) is there to imply that he managed to get Spock back from the kelvin timeline upon his return, which would explain why Spock is back in the prime universe. What I'm not sure of, since I have erased most of generations from my memory, is how they explain why Jim is still alive. Any theories?

Georgi and Glashow thus suggested that at these high energies and temperatures there was complete symmetry among the three nongravitational-force particles, and hence complete symmetry among the three nongravitational forces.¹¹
11. The mathematically inclined reader should note that Georgi and Glashow's grand unified theory was based on the group SU(5), which includes SU(3), the group associated with the strong nuclear force, and also SU(2) × U(1), the group associated with the electroweak force. Since then, physicists have studied the implications of other potential grand unified groups, such as SO(10) and E6.
