Answer game! Who ARE your ocs?
i have a lot of em tbh. katherine, vanessa, angel, nebulous, ect ect. tbh when i put that tag i was hoping some nebbie simps would come in skfjdskfjdk but its okie i havent posted much abt her anyhow. and there's not a lot i can say w/out spoiling something 😔 (but if u have questions abt her please please please ask them 👀)
ive talked abt some of my ocs in depth under my "oc stuff" tag as well as my "two" and "the war organization" tag if you're interested. oc stuff doesnt get as much traction as my other stuff so it makes sense not many have seen them ^^;
anyways. i thought that maybe id use this ask as a way ta talk abt 2 of em a bit since i finished their ref sheets awhile ago!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(✿◕_◕✿) im not entirely satisfied w/their armour but its a start :3. these guys r kinda gimicky tbh. besties who obsess over romance and romantic shows n junk. schuy is a......bit of a sterotypical character in the way that she acts towards someone specific. tbh im still tryna figure out amie! she's been a bit of a "idk" character for me beyond her relationship w/schuy. they both enable each other's bad behavior lmao. im noticing that a lot of my characters form trios w/one another and the third oc that would b part of this trio is citrine :3
citrine and ametrine are siblings and citrine's the 19 yr old older sister who's just like. done w/these goofy ahh teens. they're all guards in training (although, citrine should have graduated training and become a guard already) and come tagether once a week ta watch cheesy romcoms tagether :33 also they're someof the few guards in training that acutally live in Rexica Manor 👀 due 2 their parents or sister holding important positions.
beyond that, they're just your run of the mill teens goin ta highschool, obsessing over romantic interests (mostly schuy), and preparing for their step inta adult life :)
schuy is all sunshine and rainbows, citrine is an angry and brooding almost 20 year old, and amie is a sarcastic mean son of a bitch. shuy is also one of my characters who has a voice claim!! i imagine her ta have a bit of a deeper harley quinn type accent, maybe not as exaggerated tho.
as of now they're kinda background-y (minus citrine) i like them a lot tho so im tryna find ways ta incorporate them inta the story better. also guess what phase i was in when i named schuyler. guess.

Between the rvts and the Explorers, the rvts are definitely stronger. Not because of Friede's battling skills, but because of their teamwork. During the latest episode, Friede called Murdock and the others because he knew that they would come to help. He didn't even have to think about it. This shows the level of trust and care that the rvts have for each other. The same can't be said for the Explorers, who are motivated mainly by their individual needs. This is shown through the way that Sango ignores Onyx when he warns her to not use explosion towards the end of the latest episode. Another example of the Explorer's lack of cooperation is the disrespect that they show towards each other. We see this when Spinel is mocked by the other members for failing his mission in episode 16. With the exception of Amethio, Conia and Zirc (who actually look out for each other) the Explorers behave like a bunch of egoists rather than a unified group. By contrast, the rvts will do anything to support each other. I've seen theories that the Explorer's downfall will be their lack of teamwork and after this week's episode, I totally agree. Caring for others is a huge strength, as Horizons keeps proving.

hi, could i get some recommendations for ttrpgs with strong worldbuilding that can be played solo?
i'd especially appreciate something in a sort of cyberpunk dystopia setting, but that's optional, really- any kind of fantastical setting is fine by me :)
THEME: Solo Worldbuilding
Hello friend! Not much in the cyberpunk setting specifically, but I've got a rec or two for you!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Exclusion Zone Botanist, by Exuant Press.
YOU ARE AN EXCLUSION ZONE BOTANIST.
GET IN. DISCOVER AND DOCUMENT. GET OUT.
Officially it's known as the North East Unified Containment & Sylvan Exclusion Zone 502-H, but everyone in the Bureau just calls it the EZ. The heavily forested 103 km2 area has been sealed off for years, slowly mutating the land, and anything that dares enter its borders.
Created for the One-Page RPG Jam 2022 and inspired by The Colour Out of Space by H.P. Lovecraft and Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer (@jeffvandermeer). Exclusion Zone Botanist is a solo drawing hex crawl game. In this game there are no hit points or skill checks. You are exploring and drawing. Each in-game hour you'll be walking deeper into the dark forest of the Exclusion Zone, hunting for new and unusual plants. If you discover one, you'll stop to sketch it in your notebook along with a description and name.
This game is has concise rules and a hex crawl to guide your character as they search for unusual plants. You play on a clock, creating and documenting plants as your character ventures further and further away from safety and the chances to return unharmed. You’ll primarily be designing the plant life of the zone, but the plants of this area may become a stepping-stone to a broader design of the world itself!
Journey, by Graycastle Press.
It’s time to leave on a grand adventure. Are you ready?
Journey is a solo roleplaying game that puts you in the role of an explorer in the worlds of your own creation. Discover new details of these amazing places and gather new inspiration from what you find. Journey is both a useful exercise in creativity and an enjoyable gaming experience. This book is a new tool of imagination, a vehicle of creativity that has the capabilities to guide you deeper into the ephemeral locations and spaces of your own creation and help give them greater depth and form in both your mind and work.
This is a game that allows you to decide the setting before you get started, and can include an entire planet, or a single room. You will also create a traveler who will travel through this world, detailing it as you go. Journey can be played solo or as a group, rolling dice to determine the types of people, places, and things that you can explore, called Waypoints. These Waypoints will be filled out using prompts generated by drawing cards from a deck. Using a combination of oracles and imagination, you’ll find yourself with a unique world by the end of it!
Solstice Grounds National Park, by tallywinkle.
Solstice Grounds National Park welcomes you. Breathtaking mountain views, sandy beach, and an expansive forest: there is so much here to explore.
Solstice Grounds is a solo journalling game where the player visits a beautiful and bizarre national park. It uses a simple journalling system, providing keywords and weather prompts, and a hex grid map to spark your imagination; you're sure to have a memorable time in the park.
Using a combination of keywords and a hex grid, each new place on the map is an opportunity to describe the world around you. This game is a twist on Evergreen Wilds, which is also a solo game about park exploration, without the inclusion of strange or bizarre happenings. This is great for an explorer who likes their nature with a little bit of whimsy.
Winsome Heartwood, by The Spinel.
You awake in an old lodge, in the centre of a housing estate beside the sea, with no memories of the estate or how you got there.  Nothing about this place seems right, like a world viewed via an angled mirror. Welcome to Winsome Heartwood.
In this solo table-top RPG you will explore the Winsome Heartwood estate using a single D6 and a standard 52 card deck - searching through its buildings, mapping its roads and recording the experiences you have.
This is both a map-making and a journaling game. You will start at the lodge of the Heartwood, and travel the roads throughout the estate. Each new road will spark a new roll on the d6, to determine the number of buildings around you. If you choose to enter a building, you will mark it on your choral, and roll to see if you find something. If you do find something, you reveal a card from the deck to determine what it is you find. The end of the game is determined once you reveal all of one kind of face card, and depending on the face cards revealed, the ending will differ.
High and Low, by Julian.
A Cyberpunk roleplaying game for 1+ players. You play an elevator moving all kinds of people up and down a high-rise. You need a standard deck of playing cards and a six-sided die.
While High and Low is very simplistic when it comes to mode of play, I can see a potential for world-building when it comes to creating the characters who step into the elevator, as well as the advertisements you will generate for each passenger. You can ask yourself questions about the kinds of jobs or daily routines of the folks using the elevator, as well as fill out parts of the world according to the ads you decide to create. It’s worth checking out!
Voyage, a Mapmaking Game, by Brendan McLeod.
Set sail! Voyage is a mapmaking game about a journey across the seas. Catch the wind, make discoveries, and draw your map as you chart your voyage. Will you discover an uncharted island? Dangerous pirates? Haunted treasure? A big whale?
Voyage is written to be played either on your own or with any number of your friends, and works well as a standalone game or as a side game in the middle of an ongoing campaign.
This game uses a deck of cards to provide details about people and places, while the d6 tells you something about your sailing conditions. You (or your crew) will describe the kinds of events they experience and how each event plays out, providing a narrative alongside the world-building experience. If you want a game that gives you a detailed ocean with treasures, memorable characters, and various ports of call, you might want to check out Voyage.
A Visit to San Sibilia, by Jimmy Shelter.
This city never changes, this city never stays the same. Close to the coast in a river delta, San Sibilia’s sprawling districts are connected by rambling trams and ramshackle ferries. You may have read about San Sibilia once in a 20-part encyclopedia in a dusty shop around the corner, but haven’t been able to find the bookstore since.
A Visit to San Sibilia is a solo journaling game in which you roleplay a character chronicling their visit to the city of San Sibilia. It is a city not found on any maps—San Sibilia is both part of and distinct from our world. The city manifests itself differently to every visitor.
This game follows the story of a singular character, unveiling the strangeness of a city that jealously guards its secrets. You are creating a world through the experiences of one person, with the conceit that the city presents itself differently to each person. This might make for an interesting replay, if you choose a different kind of person for your second play through - and the city might grow and change with each person who visits.

Fandom song animatic tournament: Bracket 2 Side A Round 2
Ikanaide (Don't Go) - Soraru and Mafumafu
Lyrics Provided by the Vocaloid Lyrics Fandom Wiki
最終便 きみは乗る ぼくを置いてって はしりだす ゆっくりと 地面がずれていく 泣いちゃだめ 泣いちゃだめ でもホントは言いたいよ 「いかないで」
English Lyrics:
"On the last train, you board, leaving me behind, It departs on, slowly, and the ground slides away. Don't cry, just don't cry, But the truth is, I want to say it out loud, 'Don't go' "
Touch-Tone Telephone - Lemon Demon
"I try to call you every day I'm rehearsing what to say when the truth comes out (of my very own mouth) I've been working on a unified theory If I make it through tonight, everybody's gonna hear me out 'Cause I'm the right one On my touch-tone, touch-tone telephone I'm the only one On your AM, AM radio"
Remember that we're voting on how Iconic they are for ANIMATICS, not for the song itself. In order to make things fair, the tone and mood of the song should not affect how iconic it is (for example, a serious song should not be considered more iconic than a joke song just because it's serious)
Propaganda and animatic links of the songs under the cut:

Looking it up there are so many videos but honestly I made one for homework in my COLLEGE CLASS and my professor REALLY wanted me to show it to my class during critique even though homework was NEVER shown for critique and my entire college class had to see my stupid frame of Ingo from POKEMON stretched out cause i made it at 2am and just wanted to go to bed and i am forever scarred also there's a really pretty undertale one I really like okay bye.
Animatics with the song:

Please be cautious and read the title, description and warning cards on the animatic videos if you decide to watch them. If you've got specific triggers I'd recommend even more caution when watching animatics of fandoms you don't know, since sometimes canon-typical themes don't get warnings.

SUtM and what being a Diamond means for Steven
I’ve been trying to figure out how to contextualize the Steven Universe movie, now that we’re well into Steven Universe Future.  What is its narrative importance?  What does it mean for SUF?  Because it’s a lovely story on its own, and many shows could have ended right there and called it good -- the good guys win again, balance is restored, villain redeemed, it’s all going to be all right.  I was very curious to see where the Crewniverse would go from here and have a few thoughts rattling around my head.
Initially, I thought of the movie as a coda.  It summarized the Gems’ character arcs beautifully, as well as calling back to Steven being unable to use his powers and then showing us what it looks like when he is able to fully control them (well, so we thought! Hi there Pink!Steven).  It also served to say that happily ever after isn’t a fairy tale, it’s something that has to be worked on every day, which is a good and healthy message on the face of it.
Unfortunately, I think the healthy version -- life will always have challenges, but we can face them together -- is not exactly the message Steven came away with.  I think what he came away with is this: He has to work on his future every day.  He can’t sit around and dream of a gauzy happily ever after because that would be resting, that would be wrong.  He understands that he can get through things with his friends, but more concerning, he came away with the idea that he, specifically he, Steven, can never stop.
In the movie, he learned that he could never rest.  He had thought he was finally done, finally us, finally we -- finally free.  I get the feeling that Steven had been running on fumes by the time he leaves the Diamonds to really return home, and had thought, If I can just see this through, then I can finally rest.  Spinel’s attack shattered that thought.
He learned that he can make an effort, a change -- that he has to.  He learned that while he can delegate to Connie and Alexandrite to save the town, that he can reach out for assistance from Bismuth and Lapis and Peridot, that ultimately, it all falls on his shoulders.  He’s the one who has to climb the injector, he’s the one who has to talk to Spinel, who has to battle her, who has to show her another path.  It’s up to him.  And it always will be.
And part of that mindset, I think, is that he’s a Diamond.
All along we’ve seen signs of Steven’s incredible charisma, his abilities to lead and unify, as early as Coach Steven.  Keep in mind this is before he developed any Diamond powers, so part of his charisma likely comes from his dad and his human side - he was always going to have the ability to be a charmer, gem or no.  But it starts leveling up massively the better handle he gets on his powers.
We’ve seen his decisions more and more affect the lives of the Crystal Gems, his father (Mr. Greg, Steven’s Dream), and the residents of Beach City (no one more than Lars).  We’ve seen the Gems start to defer to him, a pattern that was invisible to Steven until Bismuth called him out on it.  By Change Your Mind, it’s clear that Steven’s force of will, even despite his lingering self-doubt, is a powerful thing, able to bring Gems out of a poofed state through fusion, able to convince Blue and Yellow and White of a better way.
We’ve also started to realize that this is characteristic of all Diamonds.  We’d seen gems like Peridot, Holly Blue Agate, Jasper and the Zircons idolize their Diamonds, but remember too that Rose Quartz commanded an army of Gems she convinced to join her fight.  Remember that she mesmerized humans.  Remember that Volleyball refused to speak ill of Pink and that Spinel waited patiently in a garden for 6000 years for her.  Diamonds hold sway over other Gems and beings, even unintentionally.
I’m not sure if Steven realizes it consciously, or if it’s still operating at a subconscious level, but he possesses that power.  He’s used it to redirect White and Blue and Yellow.  He says that Gems usually come to Little Homeschool when he talks to them in person.  He says he doesn’t know why he wanted to take over Amethyst’s project for her.  He’s doing the thing, he’s choosing to exert his will and his effort like a Diamond, and it’s working.
And this is where we see Steven in SUF painstakingly creating the entire curriculum and schedule for Little Homeschool, even though as former Homeworld Gems, people like Peridot, Lapis, Bismuth, Pearl and Garnet should really be running it.  He’s never been to a school.  He doesn’t know the first thing about it.  But it’s his idea, and he can’t rest unless he exerts control over it.  Excessive control.  He’s still running around the galaxy individually recruiting Gems to join up.  How many of these missions does he go on?  Unleash the Light saw him visiting multiple colony worlds, talking to dozens of Gems.  Multiply that over the past 2-3 years and there is so much work, so much effort, so much, so much, so much.
Happily ever after isn’t fixed, it’s something he’s going to chase, and he’s going to force it into existence for everyone.
But he’s stopped thinking about it for himself.
I keep thinking of what Yellow Diamond said so haltingly to White.   We... W- We... We need to talk!... About us. I've conquered so many worlds for the sake of the empire. I do everything you ask, and I do it all perfectly. But your very high standards put us all under a lot of pressure. A Gem could crack under so much... pressure. We Diamonds may be hard, but we're also... brittle.
In Steven’s blind pursuit of happily ever after for others, he’s continuing to exert enormous amounts of will on others, and enormous pressure on himself.  We see he’s shed previous joys and possibly friendships (where are the Beach City teens and Connie???) without gaining new ones.  We see his existence revolve around rehabilitating Gems and running the school.  We see a possible future where Steven literally collapses from self-pressure -- over something as simple as a safety seminar and a babysitting date!  We see his relationships with the Gems grow distant.  We see his own relationship with his feelings and his sleep suffer (Pink!Steven, biting his blanket, hiding his mother’s portrait, three mugs of peppermint tea on his bedside, having trouble getting up in the morning without a pep talk).  We see him trying, so hard, to make a change.
He’s a Diamond.  He’s going to make it happen.  There’s no question there.
The question is, will he crack along the way?
