I’m very tired. you probably heard that Russia destroyed the Kakhovka Dam to slow Ukraine’s counter offensive. here’s something I didn’t quite realize: since this February, the Russians operated the dam in juuuuust the right way so that as much water would build up as possible when the snow melted and spring showers started. and then they blew the whole thing up.

UAnimals has tried throughout the occupation to keep the animals safe, and they’ve been reporting on the status of the zoo. I don’t really know what to say except that I hope they’re able to save the pets and strays in the towns along the river.

Saying Hamas's tactics are acceptable since Palestinians just can't help committing war crimes because they are incapable of not brutalizing old women and children is bigoted and untrue. to all those who say "Were the children who died in Gaza terrorists??!" were the victims during October 7th terrorist? Obviously not... however you have to realise that these deaths occurred for VERY different reasons, this is WAR and war is sad and difficult, but Hamas started this war, they always do, they killed for no reason other than the hatred towards innocent people, Israel however keep trying their hardest to AVOID civilian casualties whereas Hamas purposefully put the very people they are supposed to lead and protect in harms way, if they weren't as awful as they really are maybe instead of attacking a festival and kibbutz they would have only attacked an IDF base and ONLY that... but guess what? they didn't... they went after people with no way to defend themselves! and also people who weren't even Israeli... Dogs, Men, Women, Children, Elderly... no weapons... just people who wanted to dance and have fun and eat and be with family, they wanted peace and all they got was pain and fear before being mercilessly raped and murdered and tortured and burned... please people stop supporting Hamas and denying what monsters they truly are. from the bottom of my heart I feel awful for those who are going through this war, but I do not feel sorry for Hamas nor their supporters and never fucking will. change your minds before its too late. i wonder how much of the common fandom misconception that the dark side is not actually bad comes from a misunderstanding of where the dark side actually comes from. from what i gather from folks who argue that the dark side isn't actually bad, it seems they think that someone falls to the dark side because they 'care too much' or because of anger over some injustice that must be corrected. if this were true, then the dark side seems pretty reasonable or even the right thing to do, especially for those of us who've felt that anger in real life due to an injustice we've faced and used it to galvanize our actions

but the dark side isn't rooted in anger. it's rooted in fear -- fear of loss of power, or control, or life, or another person. fear that can lead to anger, yes, but it's not the righteous anger of a protector for those less fortunate, but an anger that twists one's principles and causes hate and suffering. honestly, the dark side has more in common with the hateful people in real life who cause the very injustices we're angry about, who are often also afraid of a (perceived) loss of power that leads them to mistreat others

📹 Footage published by the World Health Organization (WHO) following their mission to Al-Shifa medical complex after the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) siege and eventual raid left the hospital in ruins, with what the WHO described as a graveyard of shallow graves left throughout the hospital's grounds.

According to Gaza's media office, more than 400 Palestinians were killed during Zionist army operations at Al-Shifa, with a total of 1'500 Palestinians missing, killed or wounded over the course of the raid.
