🐠 Daily Fish Fact: 🐠
Coelacanths were once known only from fossils and were thought to have gone extinct approximately 65 million years ago. Much to scientists' surprise, the first living coelacanth was discovered in 1938. Numerous characteristics are unique to this fish. Among them is the presence of a "rostral organ" in the snout that is part of the electrosensory system, and an intracranial joint or "hinge" in the skull that allows the anterior portion of the cranium to swing upwards, greatly enlarging the gape of the mouth.

Let’s say, sometime in your twenties, you find it necessary and desirable to change your name, and the name Electra calls to you. Except that you decide that’s too short and not significant enough, and you change your name—legally—to Electrocardiogram. You like the machines that make them, you like how they beep, you find personal significance in aspects of their relations to our hearts and heartbeats and the impermanence of life. But everyone just calls you Electra.
Now it is a while later and you realize you’ve never actually TAKEN an electrocardiogram, and you’d like to buy one of the machines that make them. Assume for this scenario that they are affordable and practical objects. But the only people willing to sell them to you run a small online shop where they take your card details down manually. If you pay these people for an electrocardiogram machine, they are going to see that your name is literally, legally, electrocardiogram, a name no one else has. What are they going to think? What do you do? How do you explain this?
This is a real question I am trying to buy ambergris and I’m starting to worry that the name on my debit card is going to weird out the wholesalers 😭

You're pretty damn cool
I have a ton of untouched games in my steam library, yet I'm currently playing through my old copy of Fossil Fighters Champions, and it's fucking bonkers. This game has the most ridiculous plot points. In one scene a digging robot is breaking through a rock, but it starts running out of battery, so the main character starts trying to help (to no effect), and the robot is like "You are attempting to assist me? Thank you sir or madam. I now know why it is that humans smile. Battery at 100%, diggingdiggingdiggingdigging-" and that's just A THING that happens with no explanation. That robot wasn't even hinted to be sapient at all until that moment, and no one is like "holy fuck the digging robot has emotions" or anything, it just happens. And those kinds of moments are all over the game. This game does the most absurd things ever, I love it so much.

Edit: i found it. A lot of the newer pokemon havent been written yet which makes sense but its quite large and extremely in depth, realistically i would say

Turtle Coprolite Fossil - Eocene - Madagascar - Genuine Prehistoric Specimen + COA
For sale is an authentic Turtle Coprolite fossil from the Eocene Epoch, discovered in Madagascar. This well-preserved specimen represents the fossilized excrement of an ancient turtle, offering a fascinating glimpse into the diet and ecosystem of prehistoric reptiles that lived approximately 56 to 33.9 million years ago.
Geology & Fossil Type:
Coprolites are trace fossils, meaning they preserve evidence of ancient life rather than the organism itself. This Turtle Coprolite was formed when prehistoric turtles excreted waste that became mineralized over millions of years, preserving its shape and internal composition. These fossils are scientifically significant as they provide insights into the feeding habits and digestive systems of ancient reptiles.
The Eocene Epoch was a time of significant evolution for many reptilian species, and Madagascar was home to a diverse array of wildlife, including ancient turtles. This fossil provides a direct connection to these prehistoric ecosystems, making it a valuable and rare paleontological specimen.
