They also kept the moth hair, along with the cape technically being a default cape, defining their ‘dangerous moth’ thing that they have going on. It’s an 8/10”

“Lark! He’s got not a lot of bright or saturated colours, making it give a pretty down to earth personality vibe. The cape also opens to show his pants more, giving a more adventurous spirit, but the darker cape and the mask that covers half his faces adds a bit of a mysterious vibe. He can have the 8/10!”

“My own outfit? Let’s see, I went for a light, simple but cute outfit. The white cape woth gold accents easily gives a pure essence, and the beige pants keep the neutrality. The pastel rainbow flower is there to add a touch of colour that contrasts the overall muted colours, but since the flower is pastel and not overly saturated, it doesn’t stand out too much. Personally, I think it’s pretty cute. 8/10”

Ness:

“Oh come on, Beefy again? Well fine, I’ll rate him properly this time. As much as I hate ti say, it’s actually a pretty good outfit. Despite the mismatch of outfits, the bright colours kind of do come together nicely, matching in saturation. It’s cohesive too, with the yellow cape matching the yellow accents on the pants and the sunglasses being similar in hue. The party hat matches the blue hues and white accents of the pants. The bright varying colours clearly show a chaotic nature who likes to have fun, especially with the sunglasses and party hat. The cape also vaguely looks like a tortilla. Matching his name. Unfortunately I refuse to give Beefy a high score or else he’ll be smug at me for the rest of the week so it’ll have to be a 4/10.”

Howdy folks! Welcome to a very unofficial Sam and Max Secret Santa event. Sign ups are open until July 16!

SO, what is a Secret Santa? 

A gift exchange where the gift givers/receivers are randomized in a big ol art exchange! Art, of course, includes fanart, fics, whatever else you can dream up of. Any creative endeavor is welcome! Please put your best effort into it and make the best gift you can for the person you’re gifting.

Answer (Mai): Mai, similar to Zuko, had a lack of agency earlier in life and likes to make up for it and nowhere does she like to assert dominance and control than in the bedroom. And there aren't that much better ways to do so than by tying up and blindfolding your lovers. For example, Mai loves to blindfold and tie up her girls and have them fuck each other and her at the same time while making sure they are wearing tight as fuck blut plugs that can only be removed once they make the other blindfolded and tied up girl, or Mai, cum. Which is hard to do since Mai is constantly moving them around and fucking them, which makes it hard for the other girls to know who they are fucking, who is close to orgasming, and if someone did cum, who came and who was responsible. A lack of agency that was partially caused by Azula & Zuko some members of The Foursome. And since all the members of The Foursome are acutely aware of this, non-con isn’t really desired by anyone. However, they do have a lot of non-con roleplay fantasies kinks where, with the prior and consistently obtained consent of the person or people being “raped,” the person or people doing the “raping” forcibly has their way with their “victim(s)”. But, they have a strict safeword system where the moment someone utters their shared safeword (“honor”) they stop the scenario and don’t restart until the person or people who stopped enthusiastically gives consent again.

I should probably be embarrassed to say I've actually thought about this before but hey, we're all friends, right? 😌

Ashton - He goes all out because he wants to show not just that he knows you but that he knows you maybe just a little bit better than everyone else (he pays ATTENTION). He didn’t just find you a first pressing of your favorite album on vinyl, he also wrote out the lyrics to one of the songs in his fanciest handwriting and had it framed. (Honestly it’s probably not your favorite song but the one he feels has the most artistic merit, but still.) In addition, if it’s your birthday, Ash is insisting on throwing the party at his place and all the decor, music and food will be impeccably curated to your tastes. (Again, he pays ATTENTION)

I think he would enjoy a gift that is equally personal but has more to do with the personal connection you share, if that makes sense. I think I’d go for a few albums I know he hasn’t heard but I think he’d like or a piece of jewelry I saw that made me think of him. Something that is both undeniably for him but also couldn’t be from anybody but you.

Calum - His gifts would probably be simple yet quietly thoughtful: a cozy sweater in your favorite color, concert tickets for your favorite artist, a monogrammed jewelry box. They’re nice presents and you can tell he really thought about what you might most enjoy having. But Cal’s big ticket item is going to be the card you receive with the gift. He’d definitely get some dumbass joke card but the entire inside of it would be filled with the sweetest, most sincere sentiments celebrating both you and whatever the occasion is.

I feel like Cal is whatever about stuff, he’s obviously grateful for gifts but he’s not wanting anything in particular, it’s more about the thought you put into it that would impress him. I’d want to get him something like a really nice journal, maybe a fancy pen set to go with it. Or wander around a second hand bookstore with him, see what catches his eye, discuss our selections, buy him a few. Things he’ll enjoy but also smile and think of you whenever he sees them in his home.

Luke - Thoughtful yet practical gift-giver - that necklace you love but stopped wearing because the clasp broke? He had the pendant cleaned and put on a new chain. He noticed you started wearing a different fragrance because your favorite ran out and you can’t find it anywhere - he tracked it down on Ebay. Last time he brought you flowers, you had to get creative and put them in water in a jar because you couldn’t find a vase so he bought you a super nice one and of course, fresh flowers to put in it. Nice things you’ll enjoy and use but wouldn’t necessarily have thought to splurge on for yourself.

I think he’s the kind of person who is legit thrilled with every gift anyone gets him, like he’s oohing and aahing no matter what. I think I’d like to get him some shirts - maybe one nice one and a couple novelty tees (thinking in the vein of that “cowboy wanted” shirt). And you know he's also the type who would then intentionally wear whatever you gave him when he knows you’ll be around to see it so he can proudly tell you how much he likes it.

Michael - I feel like he’s definitely an experience guy - not to drag love languages into this, but I think he’s a quality time guy so he wants to go somewhere and do something fun with you. Unless you’ve mentioned something recently, he’ll probably ask you outright what exactly it is you want to do but whatever it is - whether it’s a simple activity like an escape room or a ghost tour or something more elaborate like a road trip up the coast or a camping trip, Michael’s down. And you can probably count on some ridiculous Instagram stories to look back on at the end of it all.

I feel like he’d enjoy a similar type of gift - it’s less about the present itself and more about the memories involving said gift. I think it’d be fun to give him a new board game or a card game - something that would without question be the unofficial after party, everyone in attendance is playing, no exceptions, and chaos ensues.

who the heck is my muse anyway:

Ximena is a young brujeria practicing witch who was ~*mysteriously*~ spirited away from her home at age 5 with no memory of her past or self. Raised in the restricted environment of an abbey among sympathetic but uncaring sisters, she’s quite prim and proper to the public eye, but cares very little about the rules of society or her place in it.

She is also a ridiculously smart little girl. She will grow into a terrifyingly smart woman. With secrets sewn into her skin and a powerful network of magical creatures at her fingertips.

points of interest:

She’s very willing to learn and perform “dark” magicks, and can often be found reading questionable books and tomes of various subjects regarding the art. If you came at her with the offer to summon a demon together, she would be hooked almost immediately (though cautious, of course)

Near the middle of her adolescence, she begins to dabble in potioneering and finds herself very skilled at it. Through a questionable network of fellow witches, creatures, jealous ex-wives, and the like, she develops a steady stream of loyal customers and builds upon her craft.

Once reunited with her family, she is a part of a long reaching, long lasting network of witches and brujas that have lived in their forest for centuries. Perhaps millennia. The forest in which their home resides is an inter-dimentional one where time doesn’t always work properly (whatever ‘properly’ is).

Like her, her current living family is cursed with painful and involuntary immortality, alongside a few other choice effects. Ximena can die from just about anything, but she will always return after a brief visit with death: her body will take time to rebuild itself. She can stall her return to her living body if she wishes, but she can never permanently rest unless the curse is broken.

A by-product of her curse is her unending ache to know. To learn about everything she can possibly get her hands on: magic, languages, plants, mathematics, space, everything. Her hunger for knowledge cannot be satiated until she learns enough about a certain branch of magic...

Ximena literally does not care about the problem of people outside of herself and her loved ones. She’ll spare a moment of sympathy for the sake of her humanity, but she will not go out of her way to help unless she can get something out of it such as personal vindication or some rare item. Occasionally she will help others out of sheer curiosity, but it’s rare.

what they’ve been up to recently:

Making friends with demons of other cultures! From India @marakama​ to China @fwm-gsm​ to Korea @roanarch​ --She’s gatherin up them demonic business cards and seeing what she can trade for information or rare items.

Learning how to communicate with the dead successfully and without accidentally summoning a legion of the undead. Whoops! No necromancy here, she just wants to talk to her ancestors to see why the fuck she’s cursed and who she is!

Training her corvid friends to send messages and retrieve items using whistles and tongue clicks.

Forgetting her place around adults she doesn’t trust and asking suspicious questions about black magic that could set off some red flags--But her interest is purely academic! She swears! And lies.

where to find them:

Croydon - If in her early stages of life (5-13 ish), Ximena can be found wandering around the abbey where she grew up in, or around the streets of London. She has a reputation for being a wallflower and very meek and polite.

Mexico - At age 14, Ximena is unofficially adopted by local Vampire Dad, Salazar @deoscuridad​ and taken with the rest of his misfit family to Mexico, where her magic has never been stronger, and her search for her family has never been closer. Find her at the library, markets, docks, and museums taking in her culture.

Forests - The aforementioned inter-dimentional forest leads to every forest in the world (and in others). So if one is talking a walk or run among the woods, it’s entirely plausible to find Ximena (ages 14 and up) on your journey. She’ll be picking mushrooms, documenting flora, performing dangerous summoning seances, and taking naps.

Other Locations - Hogwarts is a plausible place to locate her (in the proper HP aus where she has British citizenship and is thus allowed to attend) from ages 12-16, as that is when she is withdrawn by her father. Bookshops of all sorts are another, as she quite enjoys traveling.

Ximena asking [muse] to watch over her body as she performs some dark summoning shit, allowing a demon/spirit/etc. to possess her body

[Muse] accidentally witnesses or just straight up accidentally (or purposefully!) murders Ximena in a really stupid and/or violent way, freaks out, cleans up/hides the body or runs away. They, of course, find Ximena just fine the next day/week. [Muse] can publicly freak out or demand answers, and Ximena just “yeah man, that happens sometimes, no hard feelings, jaja” and tries to brush it off.

Ximena being in a stiff upper lip environment while at a big fancy party and trying desperately to both appear normal/well adapted and also not attract any attention–but of course she’s asked to dance or give a speech.

Her fully exploring why it is that dark magic resonates so nicely with her. is it her nature? heritage? genetics? idk, but let’s test it out by trying some old school hardcore black magicks. Preferably! With a mentor muse.

On a fluffier (or more dramatic, if you’re like me) note: Ximena teaching someone how to dance.

Since there's been a lot of Daud lately - I kinda feel like everything about his arc would be improved if the nonlethal option in DH1 was to remove his Marked hand? It would assure he really WOULDN'T continue killing the way he did (instead of Corvo having to take his word for it), force him to reevaluate basically everything that defined him as a person AND if the writers wanted to use him later, they'd have a good excuse for him being a quest giver but not doing stuff himself.

I know all the submission guidelines only give info covering JDTs but I’m more than happy to answer questions since this blog has turned into an unofficial Dishonored forum (and to be clear I don’t mind that either!) Anyway I know you meant not  “I don’t like Daud can we have more questions about literally anyone else” but rather “since Daud has been discussed recently”.]

Yeah it’s quite a dark course of action but perhaps in the same line of thinking as removing the Pendleton’s tongues, shaving their heads and putting them to work in their own silver mines. If Corvo did it during the course of the game then it be experienced by the player; that would make it more impactful than the Pendletons fate.

I swear that sometimes I see both of Daud’s hands glow with the Mark, in exceptional circumstances, but I could be wrong, and I know the convention is that the off-hand is the one that takes the Mark, so that the dominant hand still holds a sword. So that’s the agreed gameplay, and therefore canon, standard. But going from what we’ve seen, we never observe a Mark on Granny’s or Delilah’s hands.

I have to agree that it would make him re-consider what defines him as a person. A similar thing happens to Jaime Lannister in A Song Of Ice And Fire and with him being a competent but self-conceited character beforehand (har har har) it changes how he views himself and leads to a great deal of character development that is strongly interwoven with the circumstances afterwards and how his actions have led to the world he now has to continue living in.

It would definitely change how would have to live as well. If he no longer has the support of the Whalers as well as no powers, he might view himself as a cripple, and one of the poor souls left to beg for their livelihoods on the streets. If he never recovered from it -

I would find it more compelling if he’d been found by Billie a few years after KoD/BW, barely surviving and in desperate need of help, and if Billie had picked him up and taken him somewhere safe and looked after him. Not saying that it’s the ideal course of action for Billie to have to look after an old man for years but it would be more of a reveal if near the end of DH2, Meagan had turned to Emily and said “I have a terrible secret. I was there the day your mother died… and I have the man responsible in an abandoned house that only I know how to reach.” If Daud had just been stewing in his own grief for an additional 15 years then he might need some persuading to get him to help them, (ignoring the events of DOTO for a moment) since he may know something of value to help take down Delilah. 

This would be especially useful if Emily had been taking down Delilah’s allies one after another but mostly with rage (on high chaos) or cold calculated revenge in mind (on low chaos), but with otherwise no plan on how to disable Delilah’s immortality and win back the throne; and especially if Emily gets to the second last mission and just run out of steam - Delilah will have no military support after you eliminate Luca, but Emily sits on the deck of the Dreadful Wale tearing her hair out in the hot sun until Billie comes to her with a suggestion that is useful but would require working or at least trusting the man who killed her mother. It would bring into light how much Emily is willing to compromise in order to defeat Delilah and bring back her father.

 The plot of Dishonored 2 isn’t THAT bad but having this sort of thing could have made it better. You can add a bit in about choosing to use Daud’s intel or not. If you don’t, you have to do an extra sequence set in an area filled with enemies, river krusts, irate witches and pissed off Hatters, to find the bakery where Delilah did her apprenticeship to find out something else about her that can help bring her down.

And yeah likewise it would enable him to be a quest-giver or another character who you can interact with at a waypoint or a hub area in the game, but who doesn’t fight - and since he’s a non-combatant you wouldn’t have to put a sleeping dart in his face straight off. By which I mean, by forcing him to interact with the people he betrayed and affected by his actions, there would be the chace for more reflective and possibly deeper character development.

Hey TeniCola let me say first that your blog is so flipping awsome!! Now I have a question that I would like you to answer if its not any trouble. So if Set has Sobek as a close friend who is Nephthys close friend out of the family?

Hello~ And ahhh thank you, I’m glad to know you’re enjoying the blog! And sure thing, this question’s an interesting one to chew on, that I realize I haven’t given as much thought >>;;;

In all honestly, I do think Nephthys is closest to her family; she’s strikes me as that type of character, and her family is very important to her. I’ve mentioned how she has a close relationship to Isis; explained bit about her relationship with Osiris; and also have various responses regarding her relationship with Set… and a little bit on Anubis too (Horus I haven’t mentioned much yet, but just 2 confirm she’s on close terms with her nephew and vice versa).

Having said that, I’d like to think she’s very sociable and familiar with other deities outside her family too, at least in DEITIES verse. She’s a very approachable goddess, so several deities do know her, or at least know of her due to her royalty and high ranking. She also ends up getting to know of others herself due to her duties as a Goddess of Service, as she takes it upon her self to assist others where needed, if she’s not busy with her own divine duties.

Of the other deities that come to mind though… hm… I was trying to explain it in brief to avoid a text wall, but there’s still quite a bit, so I’ll place it all under the cut for anyone curious~

Neith – Part-mentor, part-aunt?? Taught Nephthys a lot of skills and helped her shape her sense of moral. I like to think Nephthys admires her and visits her a lot during and after The Contendings… so Neith may be closest, outside her family. 

Taweret – Mentor, colleague – the unofficial motherly-figure and advice-giver to many of the goddesses, Nephthys included. Admires her greatly, and fairly close with her.

Sobek – Fellow river god! Knows him mostly thru Neith and Set. They don’t mingle all that often, but she trusts him, and they’re on friendly and respectful terms with each other.

Anuket – Fellow river goddess, knows her thru Sobek and Neith. She’s junior to Nephthys so I amuse myself with the idea of her being Neph’s mentee at one point, but haven’t developed it past there

Hapi – Fellow river god; Hapi was said to be friends with her father, Geb, so he’s like a unofficial uncle?? To her?? They get along well anyway.

Bes – Colleague, but mostly knows thru Taweret… I imagine kinda like another uncle to her?? They assist each other at times and get along well.

Hathor – Fellow collegue, esp with funerary services. I don’t know if they’re super close, but they are fond of and friendly towards each other.

Seshat – Knows her mainly through Thoth, respects her a lot. They probably see each other in passing when they do work within the Halls of Ma'at.

Sokar – Fellow funerary god, taught her a lot regarding funerary tasks and services. So they are colleagues more so than friends, but respectful toward each other.

Nekhbet – Fellow funerary goddess + vulture! Sorta… Also more colleagues than friends, but respect and assist each other as needed

Anat and Astarte – Set’s other partners, she knows them through her husband. Actually on comfortable terms with them, they respect each other – more explanation can be found here and here.
