Can you please do a thingy where kaui hanzo lao and Liu have a pregnant wife. But the wife has a really high risk pregnancy and can barley leave the bed most days?
Sure thing! ❤️
A/N: First time writing something like this, especially something include illness!
Hanzo Hasashi 🔥
Tumblr media
Hanzo is very happy when he knew that his wife is pregnant, he is over the moon when he knew about it. He plans for everything, the baby nursery, safe places for the baby away from training dojos, etc.
But one thing made him worry, that is high-risk pregnancy due to health conditions such as being overweight while pregnant and that is normal, but he decided to help his wife with it, such as making nutritious food, and making sure she drinks a lot of water, until she has a normal pregnancy without high risks or anything similar. Until she began to walk around the temple because it hurts her back when she is pregnant and staying in bed, he made sure that she doesn’t tire herself or carry things around so that she won’t hurt herself or the baby!
“Arigato for helping me~ Boo~” She mused, then she kissed his lips.
Kuai Liang ❄️
Tumblr media
Same as Hanzo, Kuai was wildly delighted, He was on cloud nine when he heard it from his wife's mouth, and he started to read books about parenting. Planning for a nursery for the kids, safe places for them, etc.
But he is concerned now after he knew that his wife is having high-risk pregnancy problems like nutritional deficiency due to his wife eating unhealthy food like fast food, sugary foods, and unpasteurised dairy products. And, other pregnancy cravings.
Kuai was furious at his wife for eating carelessly while pregnant, he threw all the unhealthy foods in the trash bin, He started to make his wife healthy food because he couldn’t trust her after eating junk food as a silly excuse for “pregnancy cravings”.
The day after throwing the junk food, his wife started to have trouble leaving the bed, due to nutritional deficiency, he made her healthy, nutritious food, making tea for her, and making sure she drinks water. After 2 weeks.
She started to recover from it, and she can walk now, but Kuai is still looking after her, he is still concerned that she will eat junk food again, carry heavy things, or do things that are herself.
“Thank you for helping me! love~” She thanked then she pressed a kiss to his lips.
Liu Kang 🔥
Tumblr media
Same as the prior men, Liu is Pleased to hear that he is going to have an heir, carrying his name and his legacy. Continuing to protect their home world from otherworldly dangers. But happiness was short-lived when he heard that his wife is having a Pre-existing health condition; like high blood pressure, due to genetic reasons. It got hard at first when his pregnant wife was having trouble leaving the bed or doing her daily activities. So he decided to read about high blood pressure and how to treat it, and he came to several solutions, most important ones are cutting down on salt, doing regular physical activity, taking medicines as described, and having a healthy balanced diet.
He told his wife of these solutions, she nodded and she is working on it, after a while, things started to change for the better. His wife can leave the bed, walk, and do her daily activities! She is thankful to Liu for helping her.
Kung Lao 🥟
Tumblr media
For years Kung Lao thought he wouldn’t have a girlfriend or a wife, but now he has one and she is pregnant too! He is happy as any other man whose wife is expecting a child! But his happiness didn’t last because of the high-risk pregnancy that his wife suffers from, she barely leave the bed most days due to it. Kung Lao started to do his research on high-risk pregnancy, his research didn’t help much but he decided to call the doctor, the doctor arrived and examined his wife, He told Kung Lao that she is having a high-risk of pregnancy and that she needs to change her lifestyle and take meds. Kung Lao listened carefully to the doctor and started to work on it with his wife.
At first it was exhausting for both, but after keep on doing what the doctor told them, things are getting better for them, his wife can leave the bed now and doing her daily things.
“Thanks Lao! For.. helping me~” his wife thanked him, then she kissed him.

Only for cheese lovers!
Super random fun fact:
You probably know feta cheese. When it comes to Greece it's always feta this, feta that. The truth however is that there are many more types of Greek cheese and many are delicious! In fact, there are more than 60 different types of Greek cheese recorded.
Below is a list with some of the famous ones (and my faves). If you love cheese, check it out!
Feta
Okay, yeah, let's get the celebrity out of the way fast. Feta is a sheep and goat's milk brined white cheese. It accompanies perfectly salads (especially tomatoes and olives) and it makes a great filling for filo pies. It is often served dressed in oregano and olive oil. Feta has a slightly spicy and certainly distinctly salty flavour - if you buy or order feta abroad and it is not pretty salty with a hint of spice, then you have likely been played and given cheaper white plain cheese.
youtube
Anthótyros
This is a cheese already produced in antiquity. Anthotyros is a soft cheese made with milk and whey from sheep or goats, sometimes in combination. It has a mild but very distinct taste and it's low in fats, so it is commonly eaten by people on a diet. It's eaten with honey and nuts, on salads or on pasta.
Tumblr media
Galotyri
Literally meaning "milk cheese", Galotyri is produced by fatty sheep milk, 4-5 months after the animal has given birth, which is usually in the summer. It is creamy and milky and has a very fresh, cool taste that makes it ideal for summer meals.
Tumblr media
Graviera of Naxos
The best cheese in the universe, also known as my favourite cheese, Graviera of Naxos is a PDO hard yellow cheese made of cow milk (with some addition of sheep and goat milk). It has somewhere between a salty and an umami taste and it is enjoyed with wine. It also makes a fantastic filling for fylo pies. If you see in a pie shop a pie with "Graviera Naxou" in, it's a no brainer. Try it! I have yet to eat an underwhelming one!
(Graviera is also produced in Crete island and this version is very famous as well, but my personal preference is the one from Naxos island. )
Kalathaki of Limnos
Another protected one, Kalathaki Limnou is a white brined cheese dried in small baskets, from which it gets its name (kalathaki = small basket). It is similar to feta, but less sour.
Tumblr media
Kasseri
Kasseri is a hard pale yellow cheese made from pasteurised or unpasteurised sheep milk and at most 20% goat's milk. Kasseri is a protected designation of origin, according to which the cheese must be made in the Greek provinces of Thessaly, Macedonia, Lesvos island, or Xanthi, however similar types of cheese are produced in the Balkans, Romania and Turkey. It is ideal for sandwiches and toasts, it has a buttery and salty taste and it goes well with wines.
Katiki Domokú
Katiki Domokú is produced in Domokós, in the region of Phthiotis. It is a soft white cheese with low fat content. It is made from pasteurised milk that curdles without rennet and it is drained in bags made of cloth. It can be served in toast or dakos. It can be added in salad as an ingredient and it fills pies.
Tumblr media
Kefalotyri
Already popular in Byzantine times, Kefalotyri is a very hard cheese that can range from yellowish to whitish and is made of sheep or goat's milk. Kefalotyri can be consumed as is, fried in olive oil for a dish called saganaki, or added to foods such as pasta dishes, meat, or cooked vegetables, and is especially suited for grating. It is in fact our first choice to be grated on top of dishes, an equivalent of parmesan for the Italians, but harder.
Tumblr media
Fried Kefalotyri with shrimps
Kefalograviera
A PDO cheese as well, the off-white Kefalograviera is in between the worlds of graviera and kefalotyri. It is produced and consumed in similar ways. It is saltier than a typical graviera and a little softer than a typical kefalotyri. It accompanies white wines very well.
Kopanistí
Kopanisti is a salty, spicy cheese, with protected designation of origin (PDO) produced mostly in Mykonos island for more than 300 years. It owes its special peppery and spicy taste to rapid and extensive lipolysis and proteolysis caused by abundant microbial growth encouraged by repeated kneadings performed during the ripening process. This is why it is called kopanisti, which means "beaten". The most popular way of serving is in a dish called "mostra" which contains dry bread with kopanisti cheese, chopped tomatoes and olive oil.
Tumblr media
Manuri
Manuri is an ancient Greek PDO semi-soft, fresh white mixed milk-whey cheese made from goat or sheep milk. It is produced primarily in Thessaly, Macedonia and Crete island. It has a sweet and mild taste and is used in appetizers, salads, desserts and savoury meals. It is considered a gourmet choice.
Tumblr media
Green salad with fruits, cranberries and manuri
Metsovone
Produced in the mountainous town of Métsovo, Metsovone is a PDO semi-hard, smoked cheese made of cow's milk. It accompanies white wines and is used in salads and appetizers.
Myzithra and Xynomyzithra
Myzithra  is a Greek whey cheese or mixed milk-whey cheese from sheep or goats, or both. It is primarily produced on the island of Crete but is widespread throughout Greece. The cheese is soft, snow-white, creamy, and moist. Since no salt is added to mizithra it has an almost sweet and milky taste. It is eaten as dessert with honey or as an appetizer. It is used as a table cheese, as well as in salads, pastries and in baking, notably in little cheese pies (handful size) and Sfakiani pita (pie from the Sfakiá region).
Myzithra that is salted and aged becomes dryer, denser, saltier and more sour (xyní). This version, xynomyzithra ('sour myzithra') is often grated. Xynomyzithra is considered the grating cheese par excellence of Greek cuisine, and is especially suited for sprinkling over hot pasta. (It is less common than Kefalotyri but more gourmet, in short.)
Tumblr media
Xynótyro
Xynotyro is an unpasteurized whey cheese made from sheep's or goat's milk, with a hard and flaky consistency, a pungent aroma and a yogurt-like sweet and sour taste. "Xynotyro" means "sour cheese" in Greek. Xynotyro can be consumed either as fresh cheese or after being ripened with the use of naturally dominating microflora during a 3-month maturing period. The Lactobacillus strains in Xynotyro have antibacterial effects that kill Salmonella pathogens, a finding that is of special interest for producers of health-giving cheeses according to researchers at the French Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale.
San Michele
San Mihali in Greek, it is a traditional salty and spicy PDO cheese, that is one of the most expensive in the country. It is produced exclusively in Syros island. It is made of cow's milk.
Sfela
Sfela is a PDO semi-hard white brined cheese with a spicy, salty and a little sour taste. Its production is founded on old tradition and this cheese is permitted to be produced only in the south of the Peloponnese, in the regions of Messenia and Laconia - both the animals and the production facilities have to be there. Sfela is served with bread, Maniot lalangia (a type of local pasta), accompanies meals and is used as filling in pies.
Talagani
A cheese that took its name from the word for the shepherd's cape in the Messenian dialect, talagani is a white sheep-goat milk cheese which is especially delicious when grilled, as it does not melt and it becomes chewy. It is consumed as an appetizer or in salads and is great when accompanied with honey or marmelades.
Tumblr media
BONUS: Hallumi
Hallumi is the famous PDO cheese of the Republic of Cyprus. It is made from a mixture of goat's and sheep's milk, and sometimes also cow's milk. Its texture is described as squeaky. It has a high melting point and so can easily be fried or grilled, a property that makes it a popular meat substitute. Halloumi is popular throughout the Eastern Mediterranean.
Tumblr media

Armogalo
Arseniko of Naxos
Thermiotiko or Kythnios tyros
Kariki
Cretan cheese
Ladotyri of Mytilene

I am seeing so many people, especially so many veggies and vegans, laughing at the horrific right-wing thing for “raw” (unpasteurised) milk.
Please don’t. This is massively increasing the spread of zoonotic diseases like H5N1 that could *easily* become human-human transmissible - with H5N1 that’s already spinning towards *will* become human-human transmissible, and while horrific conditions on farms, including how badly they treat their human workers as well as how horrific they are to the animals, are still the primary cause of that, this bullshit is *materially* impacting it.
These people feed the stuff to their kids, who are already major transmission vectors because of school conditions. They spit it out into vulnerable communities who don’t share their horrific views; I’m chronically ill and the amount of horrific utter bullshit like this that goes out into communities of people who have been let down again and again by doctors who dismiss very real symptoms of illness, who try it because they are desperate, and then die because they are medically vulnerable.
Ring-wing ideologies *materially* impacted our ability to fight COVID, and continue to do so, and it’s the most vulnerable people in society that paid, and are continuing to pay, for that. Now they are materially increasing our risk of even more devastating pandemics.

Please can you tell me 5 interesting things about cow and sheep diseases
i have waited my entire life to hear this very question thank you my friend. my answers are very focused on aotearoa as that is where i did my masters
facial eczema is a fungal disease of sheep and cattle that is caused by eating fungal spores in grass which release a toxin into the gut of the animal and cause liver and systemic damage, including facial lesions. my interesting fact here is that a study was done to attempt to vaccinate sheep against the toxin, but instead of reducing the disease, it somehow made it significantly worse
listeriosis in sheep (infection with the same listeria that can cause food poisoning in humans) can present as repeated circling or staggering followed by death, as it is a neurological disease in sheep. my father once saw a sheep circling in one of our paddocks and by the time he reached it, it had already died
the techniques used in aotearoa and later globally for tracking covid-19 variants were prototyped here in aotearoa for tracking bovine tuberculosis outbreaks! cattle here frequently catch it from the invasive brushtail possum (one major reason why we are trying to eradicate them, the other being the harm they cause to native birds) and this method of disease mutation tracing was pioneered for working out where these outbreaks were coming from
sheep have their own prion disease called scrapie which (like chronic wasting disease in deer) can be transmitted through soil and water. here in aotearoa we accidentally imported scrapie in the 1970s to mana island and as a result had to torch and burn an entire mob of sheep and abandon the island for sheep farming - to this day there are restrictions on visiting the island for safety
MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) has been detected in nz cattle, which is concerning by itself, but it is also transmissible to humans, particularly through the drinking of unpasteurised milk. Never drink unpasteurised milk. The most common victims of this here are farmers drinking milk from their own cows due to the belief that fresh milk is still safe

love those farmers who think mandatory pasteurisation is the government opressing them/suppressing secret health knowledge, like buddy they don't give a shit they just don't want you to be able to poison people because you don't believe in the germ theory of disease.
you're not a rebel for giving your guests unpasteurised milk and saying "this is technically illegal" you're just a moron. the fact you can do that in the first place proves they're not exactly sending the free energy milk suppression Cheka to your door because you've discovered that not getting rid of the bacteria in your milk makes you immortal or something. they just don't want people to be able to sell unsafe milk oh my fucking god.

for some reason instagram keeps showing me videos of people who are passionate about the health benefits of unpasteurised milk. and even if what they’re saying is true, there is surely no health benefit greater than that of not getting e.coli

I will be your blood loss consultant
Hey IWTV fic writers - want to ensure your character's blood loss feels realistic? Got a situation where a petit coup has gone too far, or a character got gravely injured? I've got a unique perspective to offer to the fandom - I've lived for extended periods of time with extremely low blood counts* and I'm happy for you to send me WIP snippets or to ask for advice on blood loss storylines.
To break it down a bit further, from my experience, how being low on the different types of blood feels/affects you:
Red blood cells - Red blood cells carry oxygen around the body, so if you're low on these, you're effectively low on oxygen in the blood. This is the most obvious, but you feel really sluggish, tired, and will be breathing heavily at the slightest physical exertion. Physically, it kinda feels like you're moving underwater, and your limbs feel heavy, and even short walks feel hard. (I went from running 10km 3x a week to getting out of breath just walking up stairs, for example). Cognition is fine, but frequent naps are a requirement.
Platelets - Platelets are what allow your blood to clot and heal cuts, so a lack of these means you bleed and bleed for a long time. But also you bruise super easily, and bruises last a really long time (weeks/months). You can also have spontaneous burst blood vessels in the whites of your eyes. Parts of your body that wouldn't normally bleed also do - like waking up to blood on the pillow because your gums bled overnight. The most unexpected part for me was having a constant background rushing sound in my ears - kinda like holding a seashell up, but all the time (until a transfusion).
White blood cells / neutrophils - A lack of these doesn't make you feel that different, tbh, but a lack of WBC means you can't fight off viruses so you pick up every single cough and cold, and have it for twice as long as normal people. A lack of neutrophils means you can't fight off bacteria, so your body's normal bacterial cohabitors cause problems that can really mess you up. So you've got to be insanely conscientious about what you eat (no runny eggs, unpasteurised cheeses, raw vegetables!), and brush your teeth and mouthwash after you ingest anything. You'll really only need to worry about these symptoms though if you've got low blood levels for an extended period of time (several weeks+).
Overall though, I've described the extreme examples. If your character is young and healthy, they will probably only experience the red blood loss symptoms (and possibly minor platelet symptoms) for a few days, depending on how much blood was lost. If they're in a situation where a hospital would give transfusions, be aware that you'll only ever be given enough to get you out of the dangerously low territory, never so much that you'd be "back to normal" counts after the transfusion(s). But transfusions do make you feel better almost instantly (better, but not good).
But again, feel free to message me with any specific questions (I can also tell you how chemo, meningitis, spinal taps, surgery w/o anaesthetic feels if that's of use!), I'm happy to talk about all this and I want to give back to this fandom and IWTV fanfic writers in particular to say thanks for the hundreds of hours of enjoyment you all have given me!
* I'm absolutely fine now! Over my lifetime, though, I've survived off the blood of literally hundreds of people. A bone marrow transplant saved my life 14 years ago and I run marathons now and am probably healthier than most 40-somethings, except I'm still Clinically Extremely Vulnerable to Covid and can't go into crowded places or unmask indoors. But my bloods have been fine for over a decade and this is in no way traumatic for me to talk about!
Please consider joining your country's bone marrow donor registry and/or donating blood regularly if you're able to! Both saved my life.
