Crushed Butler.
Crushed Butler. Crushed Butler are another of those bands shamefully ignored by the record companies back around the end of the ’60s / beginning of the ’70s. Formed around the summer of 1969, this three-piece unit have been described as one of UK’s earliest ‘proto-punk’ bands. In part that may be down to their ‘jeans and T-shirt’ image coupled with a more simplistic, not over-flowery-sounding,…

Right Angle - Bad Answer
youtube
Good morning and happy Friday.
I've posted my son's band, and my old band on this blog several times. I would like to invite anyone out there who has an unsigned band or is a fan of an unknown band to share with me a YouTube link and I will post it here. Let's celebrate new music and undiscovered talent.

Listening to black metal is such a shitshow because you have to do research on every band you listen to and look at the lyrics because if you’re not careful you’ll wind up unknowingly listening to a fascist who murdered his former band mate and brags about supposedly being descended from a high profile nazi. I guess this is just what you get for listening to a genre associated with church burnings and satanism but every now and then you come across a fucking MVP like Fenriz. That dude gets it.

Things That Record Companies Look For
Record companies play a crucial role in the music industry. They are responsible for discovering and promoting new talent, as well as managing the careers of established artists. In order to achieve success, record companies are constantly on the lookout for the next big thing. But what exactly are they looking for? In this article, we will explore the key factors that record companies consider when evaluating potential artists.
1. Originality
One of the most important things that record companies look for in an artist is originality. In today's music industry, it is not enough to simply have a good voice or be able to play an instrument. There are thousands of talented musicians out there, but what sets an artist apart is their unique sound and style. Record companies are always searching for something fresh and different that will capture the attention of the audience.
2. Songwriting
Record companies also place a high value on an artist's songwriting abilities. A great song can make or break an artist's career. It is not enough to have a beautiful voice; an artist must also have the ability to write compelling and relatable lyrics. Record companies look for artists who can write songs that resonate with listeners and have the potential to become hits.
3. Stage Presence
Another important factor that record companies consider is an artist's stage presence. A performer who can captivate an audience and leave a lasting impression is highly valued in the music industry. The ability to connect with an audience and deliver a memorable performance is crucial for an artist's success. Record companies want to see artists who can command a stage and leave a lasting impression on their audiences.
4. Marketability
Record companies are businesses, and they are always looking for ways to make a profit. This is why marketability is an important factor in their decision-making process. An artist who has a unique image and a strong brand has a better chance of attracting a larger audience and generating more revenue. Record companies are always on the lookout for artists who have the potential to become successful brands.
5. Social Media Presence
In today's digital age, social media presence is a key factor that record companies consider when evaluating potential artists. Social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube have become powerful tools for promoting music and connecting with fans. Record companies look for artists who have a strong and engaged following on social media, as it shows that they have a built-in fan base and the potential for success.
6. Work Ethic
Being a successful artist requires a lot of hard work and dedication. Record companies are aware of this, and they look for artists who have a strong work ethic. An artist who is willing to put in the time and effort to perfect their craft and promote their music is more likely to succeed in the long run. Record companies want to see that an artist is committed to their career and willing to do what it takes to achieve success.
7. Collaborative Skills
The music industry is all about collaboration. Record companies look for artists who can work well with others and are open to collaborating with different producers and songwriters. Collaborations can lead to new and exciting opportunities for an artist, and can also help them grow and evolve as an artist.
Record companies are always on the lookout for artists who have a unique and original sound, strong songwriting abilities, a captivating stage presence, marketability, a strong social media presence, a strong work ethic, and collaborative skills. These are the key factors that record companies consider when evaluating potential artists. While there is no guaranteed formula for success in the music industry, possessing these qualities can definitely increase an artist's chances of being discovered and achieving success. - HRG Songs

It’s hard not to feel jealous of others success when you try so fucking hard.
This is going to sound super bitchy and ungrateful and im sorry. It’s a long shot but if you read this, just please interact with the post or take a listen and let me know you’re honest opinion.
Being in a band is hard and the idea of success has changed so much. I love playing music and I love playing in a band and we’ve been working at it for years hearing the same shit over and over.  “Y’all are good. Y’all are going to go places”  But sometimes it feels hopeless and I feel stuck and that none of my peers in the Chicago music scene take us seriously. Social media has ruined the music industry and its getting harder and harder to get people to care or give you a few seconds of their time. It starts to wear on the mental health if im honest. I just want to connect with people.  I put my heart and soul into this band and I just want people to listen and connect with the music.

On My Own - Bad Answer - 2024
youtube
Good morning and happy Wednesday. I know this isn't what you normally expect from this blog but I'm so impressed and so proud of what my son's band have done here, I want the world to know. Give it a chance, if it's not your thing, maybe you know someone who's thing it is. I think it's so important to support young musicians, the music we love will live forever if we encourage them to keep playing, and really play and learn and grow. My son also did the art work.
