Buck/Tommy Late Night Ramblings: The Data (the 24 hour update)

We've passed the 24 hour point of the official 911 ABC Instagram posting the Buck and Tommy hospital kiss and holy shit, it performed better than I anticipated. Views have slowed, which is to be expected, but not as much as I anticipated. So let's get into the numbers.

If you want to take a minute to review what they were last night, check out 5/5 nightly BuckTommy ramble post here.

First major news is that multiple other videos were uploaded today, which brings the total number of reels on the official account to 113 with the average view count of 379k (so that has remained unchanged).

The hospital kiss has, as of the time I'm posting this, had 791k views, 75k in likes and 2k in comments. When we compare that to last night, it was an increase of 256k in views (so roughly a quarter million on it's second day), 19k in likes and 500 additional comments.

Overall, it moved from being the 22nd most viewed reel on the Instagram to 9th most viewed reel. The fact it was able to break the top 10 already shows just how much engagement this video is getting.

I also went down and broke down the top 11 videos so we can look at those closer.

So a few observations about these:

I include 11 reels because I don't really consider the Happy 1-18 a good representation of the top videos. That clip is only a few seconds long and loops really quickly. That explains why it has 4 million views compared to everything else.

Most of these videos have been up 3+ weeks to pull these type of numbers.

I think it's interesting the Madney/Chimney song video is pulling very similar numbers as the Buck/Tommy kiss in the same time frame. This, to me, suggests a similar appeal to the ships in regards to how fans are engaging. Which is a very, very good sign. It also passed the Buddie coming out scene which honestly surprised me. I didn't anticipate that happening so quickly.

Comments also remain overwhelming positive.

I'm gong to update the numbers tomorrow night but I don't predict a huge movement in it's overall place. As you can see, spot 8 and up are basically at the million and higher mark. I do have confidence that this video will eventually hit that but when that will be is determined by how quickly the views slow down (which naturally occurs as we get further and further away from the date it's posted).

Erm, by the time this reaches you I'm probably gonna be on my way back to the States, but I'm recording this now to give you an idea of the state I'm in. Er, the past week has been hell. I have been through the fucking wringer—trials and tribulations—and lemme tell you I'm bloody exhausted-

[sound of dog scratching] Oh, that scratching sound is Red. He's got fucking fleas or ticks or something, mate, ay? The fuck is up with you, huh? Oh, it hurts to sit up. [cough]

[clearing throat] So I'm not gonna get into the details of what's happened, I'm gonna save that for when I get back, but I'm, er—I'm saying this so that you all be—[stutters]—you all need to be aware that right now my patience is about as short as my fucking height and my temper is shorter still, so—so if I'm being—[stutters]—if I seem a bit standoffish that's why, er, gimme a few days to get myself back in sorts and I reckon I'll be fine.

No i don't. Doubt it would be happening on such short notice. Firstly because of this:

unless you consider the findjackwalten /name-me page to qualify as as forewarning? This q&a was from August 5th and the update that added the partial Cyberfun Tech release date went live on August 14th.

Secondly: The Infamous Dog Gif. Maybe i'm just being anal for pointing this out but there's something people consistently seem to forget about what he says wrt the dog gif:

"when TWF 4 is fully finished and complete" are his exact words regarding when we are seeing the dog gif. not 'when it's coming out', just 'when it's done'. If the episode isn't fully finished yet I doubt it's ready to be released Tomorrow lol.

That said, we're in a pretty lucky position where there is a very finite number of days that TWF4 could possibly be released on, if Martin is to be believed. We know it's coming out on 9pm(est? i believe?) on a Friday, and we know from name-me that the partial release date is "   - 0  - 2022", which, to make character count clearer, could be written as "XX - 0X - 2022", so it IS coming out this year, and it's coming out early in whatever month we're seeing it. So. Days TWF4 could theoretically possibly still release on:

-October 7th, 2022 -November 4th, 2022 -December 2nd, 2022 -December 9th, 2022

I'm a bit of a pessimist and im honestly getting real tired of moving the goalpost every month, so i'm not really getting my hopes up for any date earlier than the 9th (ie the last possible date it could be) until we see a dog gif. Though part of me is definitely wishing to be proven wrong. If the episode comes out tomorrow and i look like an idiot for saying any of this then that's a better world for everyone i think

But unfortunately the power and wifi in my local area has been completely shut off with no clear schedule of when it will be back up and running. First, Payu and Rain, I didn’t like the beginning that much, the daddy/baby dynamic is not my cup of tea at all, but towards the end they ended up having a much more balanced relationship and their chemistry is indisputable so the last two/three episodes were far more enjoyable for me. As for Prai and Sky, I’m excited because I see a lot of potential in them and I adore Sky already so I want his happy ending. We’re not off to a good start with how creepy Prai is being but I still have faith.

My Only 12% (ep9)

This series is so good… Santa and Earth’s acting is impeccable. Too much angst for me but it’s worth it. Can’t wait to watch the reunion.

The Eclipse (ep9)

Quoting Lady Gaga: amazing spectacular never done before, etc. I wish we got a bit more plot and action about the curse in the middle and not only the typical ‘all goes to shit’ towards the end like I guess it’s going to go but it’s ok, I love everything else about it.

Technically not airing yet but it starts tomorrow. Rude of GMM to give me a TayGun series and make them brothers and not a couple, but I know it’s never going to happen so I’ve accepted it. An important update regarding the new Woody Woodpecker video

Hey, y'all! What's up? Hope your summer will be filled with gaming goods and plenty of dinos to go 'round. However, that's not the case here, as I want to address something very important.

Originally I was going to consider uploading the Woody Woodpecker video on the 9th or 11th of June in preparation for the 30th anniversary of Jurassic Park, but I have an important update. So far, all four scenes revolving Woody have been cleared up. Next will be the part where I want to get back into Drooler's Delight by recreating and reimagining the one from the short film. Getting to the point, the premiere date of Woody Woodpecker will take place on 22 June, the day Isla Nublar was gone for good.

In terms of this, I'll need to buy more time to add the scene and connect both shots from Drooler's Delight so it'll stay between the opening of the video and Photo Time at Universal! together. But before that, I'll be partaking in the upcoming Summer Game Fest that's happening in the weekends. Presumably, it's about Wholesome Games, Future Games Show, PC Gaming Show and Ubisoft Forward. I'm not going to tune in to Microsoft Studios' showcase since seeing them owning the gaming world made me not want to buy an XBOX nor a Windows PC. (Wonder if Steam Deck is still in the rounds...?) Around that time, I'm also heading to one of my uncle's house to celebrate his birthday there. It's just one day only, so I may have to opt in at a hotel room and sleep in a sofa bed. Good thing I've come prepared!

UPDATE: The Tale of Sachiko Fanfic, and Some Personal Grief...

It’s crazy to think I have gone a full year since debuting the Tale of Sachiko Uzumaki Chapter 1 in 2021 which honestly was supposed to kick start the adventures of my NaruSaku OC child - Sachiko (Sachi) Uzumaki, and there is a a lot I have planned for her character arc and her journey.

Shortly after the first chapter, I went through a stage of grief when Attack on Titan’s manga finale came out on April 9th and I was severely disappointed. That led to me losing my writing mojo due to my long investment with Attack on Titan, and I wasn’t sure how I wanted to keep moving forward.   

On top of that, I had a seizure shortly after Memorial Day last year so I needed to spend some time resting my thoughts for that entire summer.  The results of my certification exam didn’t exactly left me in the best spot either when the end of July came. 

Some time after during the month of October just when I thought I was ready finally get back to working on Sachi’s story again with Chapter 2  I got the news that my grandma fell and was admitted for a week before she passed away. This was a loss I simply couldn’t get over, and it didn’t help that I got into a wreck towards the end of November.  

This was also during the same time when I was about get surgery done the day before Thanksgiving 2021.  That process was initially supposed to last a couple weeks, but slowly it transitioned into a month to 3 & 1/2 months.  

Transitional Phase... 

I already covered this in my most recent update video that during that process my views on shipping wavered from NaruSaku to NaruHina,... Which my approach on that transition is something I very much still regret, and it cost me to lose some genuine connections with people I really came to care about in the NaruSaku community. One of my very good friends who I still consider dear and very close to me felt hurt & betrayed about the things I said. All it took was one stupid decision I made, and even that feels like the biggest understatement to say even now. I know better than anyone that this also probably cost me a very dear and meaningful friendship I’ve made with her as well as others just under a month ago.  

 I say this because reading their story is the thing that inspired  me to share the story of Sachiko Uzumaki.  A character I’ve only ever had  a rough idea and character design as to who she is before I made the decision  to really flesh out her character arc from start to finish. Whenever it comes to me and writing a story it’s because it comes straight from the heart. It is never with the intention of gaining attraction or views. That is one of the biggest things I hate most is when people are writing something for the sake of attention. Anyway, knowing that I hurt and betrayed the one person who gave me the motivation I needed was what really left me shattered from deep within.

Post-Transitional Phase...

Outside of this situation, Things have only gotten worse on my end of things IRL because my eldest uncle (dad’s older brother) has been suffering through Stage 4 Lung cancer for over a 1 year and 5 months. Things have been rather slow and steady when it comes to his condition, and I have done everything I can to be supportive of my older cousin (whom I consider to be my big brother.)  ever since I heard the news.  Up until this last monday June 20th when my family and I found out his conditions has significantly worsened from before, and that he doesn’t have a lot of time left to live anymore. 

I have done so much to hold up a strong front for my big brother and that was something my uncle very much noticed. So he had asked me to come over and he held my hand telling me, "I want you spend one day to yourself and have fun tomorrow and just rest for a day. Come see me again on Saturday for the early fireworks and I want you to make that a promise.  Otherwise I won't say anything if come back tomorrow." 

That’s when I told him,  “Don’t worry  I will just take it easy and get some rest until then.”   

I didn’t get a chance to see him that Saturday because the following day my dad ended up getting COVID, and I’ve been taking care of him to make sure he’s doing well. Thankfully my dad’s condition is getting better, but I make it an effort to call my big brother to see how things are going, and from what my brother told me my uncle’s pain has gotten worse.   

I had already been left myself nearly balling when I went home the night after I talked with my uncle in person, but hearing his condition worse left me feeling far more in sorrow then I thought I was in before....

What do I need to do?  

NEW PATH: The Seeds That Will Sow to Inner Healing 

There was a lot I’ve mentioned when it comes to my whole transition phase of the decisions I’ve made,  and I just wanted to finally makes things as clear as I can towards one of the closest friends I’ve hurt and betrayed in the NaruSaku Community.   I’m not asking this close friend of mine to feel sorry for what I did because it was a stupid decision that I made, and it’s something I’ve already acknowledged.  I just want them to truly know and understand that I would like to reforge this trust and bond I had with them over these last 9 years, and I’m willing to wait no matter how long it takes that to happen. 

When it comes to the situation with my uncle,  I know what lies ahead, and the only thing can continue to do is try and stay strong as I’ve been doing. Whatever sorrows and grief that I’ll be feeling I just have to accept for what happens when it finally arrives. All I know is I’m not ready to say goodbye... There’s just so much more I want for them...

As for The Tale of Sachiko Uzumaki Fic...??? 

At first, this was just simply going to be centered on The Tale of Sachiko Uzumaki, but there was just so much going I’ve been going through... and I just couldn’t keep it all in to myself.  It’s always best to be honest with yourself above all else, and that’s exactly what I want to do here.

I may have accepted the canon ending, and NaruHina as my OTP, but I absolutely refuse to leave Sachi’s story unfinished.  Some will say “Oh LuckyChi is just pandering to his old community... that’s why he’s doing this..”  

HELL TO THE NO I’M NOT!!!  If that’s what a lot of you are having then I suggest you to rethink about this more throughly here. That has never been my mind set at all from the very beginning as writer, and I’ve addressed that on more than one ocassion.  

I’ve been working very hard and extensively on the following chapters that have happened since the first chapter. Nothing has necessarily changed when it comes to the story,  character arcs, and themes I’ve already set for Sachiko “Sachi” Uzumaki’s journey from the very beginning.  That is something I intend to stick by until the very end. 

Having said all of this, The Tale of Sachiko Uzumaki will be making it’s come back on October 8th 2022, and it will be done in a weekly format.

Bobby: June 9th 2022

Our entire week hasn't been the greatest in all honesty.

Tuesday we just kind of slept all day. Wednesday wasn't so bad we still got something done. Went out to eat, walked home. We made a couple phone calls and found ourselves disappointed to hear that the driving teacher wouldn't even be available until next month so we've kind of started asking a few people we know.

We did eat pretty good though. This morning we were wide awake and got some breakfast that was nice and we should probably head to the post office and then the bank. Wrath to sit through a group doing at least five whole minutes of prayer and they couldn't feel more annoyed when one of them said "have a blessed day" assuming we were as christian as them.

I'll let Christians waste their time bowing to a god if they want. That's fine. We all will. But when you speak of 'not letting us live certain lifestyles and assuming we're fucking Christian too... Just eugh. Keep it to yourself.

It's not that hard to keep your religion to yourself until someone is willingly ready to begin the conversation first. If you start preaching to me I'm not playing around with you.

Anyway.. I'll update again. Hopefully something more interesting happens tomorrow.

September 29th, 1937.

Dear Diary,

I was working part time at the diner down the road earlier when I saw him. He said his name was James. He's kind of tall but looked like a giant especially next to his friend - 'Steve' I think - anyway he's around 6'0, maybe a bit shorter but still handsome nonetheless. James was constantly flirting and even asked me out. I said no but now I'm curious what would happen.

Looking down upon the letter, Bucky couldn't help but smile at the writing and realised there are years more to come.

October 3rd, 1937.

Dear Diary,

He's back. James is back and this time he was alone. For a bit over two hours he just sat and read this book called 'The Hobbit'. I asked my friend about it and found out it is a children's fantasy book so I guess that means he probably has a younger sibling. By the end of my shift, he'd only said a couple of things to me which was his order but then as I was clearing his table, I found a piece of paper with what I assume is his number on it. Should I call him?

He had remembered that day, after going to an art class with Steve, he'd went back to the diner with better tactics and the intent to both give you his number and read the entire book that his sister, Rebbeca had told him to try reading.

October 12th, 1937.

Dear Diary,

I did it. I called James. It had been a couple of days since I'd seen him and decided to finally call him despite being as nervous as ever. He said yes and we just got back from our date at the mall. I was honestly terrified but he was an actual gentleman and as weird as it is to know so early, I think I like him a lot.

Bucky stares down at the most recent entry and can't help but remember how truly nervous he'd been. Even after so many years that was something he'd always has stuck in his head.

November 23th, 1937.

Dear Diary,

Sorry for the lack of entries but I'm in my first year of college and it's been really stressful. Update on Bucky is that he has asked me to celebrate thanksgiving with him and his friend, Steve. I said yes and am staying the night so I'm about to leave in a couple of minutes. I guess I'll see my parents for the winter holidays instead.

It was funny to think of the fact all those years ago he was a twenty year old living with his childhood best friend and not having too many worries.

January 1st, 1938.

Dear Diary,

Last night was amazing. James went to my house to meet my parents and they managed to get along. I was scared that they'd hate each other but Bucky used his charm and it all went well. Even though it took a while, me and James kissed at midnight whilst in my childhood bedroom.

James could see it all clearly. It had just turned twelve when he'd pressed his lips to yours after asking for permission of course. He'd wanted to for a while at that point but wasn't sure how to ask or even bring it up for that matter.

March 9th, 1938.

Dear Diary,

It is now Bucky's birthday tomorrow and I can't wait, he's going to turn twenty-one so we're going out for drinks even if neither Steve or me can legally drink. He did say he'd buy us a beer each to try. I'm a bit over a year younger than Steve so it can be awkward but we make it work since there's something we can all relate to; being an 18-21 year old in the 30s.

It was only then that Buck realised that you would have been 18 at that point having skipped a year of school and been born around mid September.

May 19th, 1938.

Dear Diary,

School finally broke up and I am fully planning to spend the next couple of months with Bucky but there's still the slight problem of me having a job as well. Also amazing news I'm moving in with James next week so that we can spend more time together.

Smiling at the entry, James can't help but look to the date and realise you'd be dead by now especially since he doesn't know where you'd be buried. Skipping to some of the most recent ones

June 3rd, 1943.

Dear Diary,

James is being drafted. After so many years I hoped that he would be lucky and not go but somehow, he is now being drafted. I heard him tell Steve that he enlisted but I checked his tags and I was right he didn't enlist. Though I don't know why I'm left to assume he didn't want to leave us here, where we could be hurt. We're going out dancing tonight and then dinner, I think he's going to propose before leaving so that when he is home and safe, we can finally get married.

He just stared blankly at the diary entry and new that you were right but couldn't help but feel guilty for lying. It was also true that he did propose later that evening in the little diner they'd met six years prior.

January 12th, 1945.

Dear Diary,

He's dead. I received word from Steve that Buck is officially dead. He'd fallen from the train whilst on a mission and there is apparently no way he could've survived. We are going to have a funeral next week and we'll bury some of his favourite items along with small things from our relationship and his life.

James felt a pang in his heart when he saw the old tear stains into the letter. It was clear that you were crying whilst writing and now you'll never know that he is alive.
