Femme Fatale Guide: How To Master An "Effortlessly Elegant" & Put-Together Look
Table of Contents:
Treat your skin like royalty
Take ample care of your natural hair
Dress in crisp neutral outfits that cater to your body shape
Choose your accessories wisely
Embrace feature-enhancing makeup
Keep your nails clean, filed, and simple
Regarding your signature scent(s)
Follow your dental & bodily hygiene routines religiously
Treat your skin like royalty:
Use high-quality skincare twice a day
Wear sunscreen every day
Remove your makeup every night before bed no matter what
Use makeup that doesn't clog your pores/irritate your skin
Change your pillowcases weekly
Eat plenty of produce & drink lots of water
Prioritize sleep
Limit or eliminate alcohol, cigarettes, caffeine, and processed foods/sugary drinks
Keep your skin exfoliated/derma-planed
Take ample care of your natural hair:
Use high-quality shampoo/conditioner combos that suit your hair type & don't cause build-up
Hydrate with a scalp mask 1-4 times a month
Use cold or lukewarm water to wash your hair
Apply shampoo to the roots/hair covering your scalp and conditioner only on the "ponytail" section of your hair
Use a specialty hair towel after getting out of the shower
Always comb wet hair and brush 1-3 times a day when dry
Limit heat on your hair when possible & always use a heat protectant every time you do
Use non-elastic or silk hair ties
Get regular trims at least 3-4 times per year (get your hair layered if it's very thick)
Try to limit how much you dye or, especially bleach, your hair and do elaborate styles with tons of heat & harsh products
Dress in crisp neutral outfits that cater to your body shape:
Embrace minimalist basics (tees, tanks, blouses, sweaters, jeans, trousers, blazers, leather jackets, coats, etc.) in high-quality fabrics (Pima cotton, Merino wool, Tencel, mulberry silk, etc.)
Choose options in black, white, grey, charcoal beige, navy, burgundy, or cream depending on your skin tone and preferences
Invest in a collection of sleek footwear options (black boots, loafers, black pumps, white sneakers, etc.) in minimalist, timeless styles that suit the color palette, hemlines & proportions of your go-to outfits
Ensure your shoes and accessories feel proportional to the weight/silhouette of your outfit, color-coordinate with the rest of your look, and have streamlined hardware from head-to-toe (all silver, all gold, or one piece that mixes silver/gold and another gold & silver piece each to balance out the color palette)
Keep all of your clothes steam and lint-rolled, so they look crisp & fresh all-day
Befriend your tailor to take in or let out clothes as needed when purchased off the rack
Choose clothes/styles that flatter your body shape and proportions
Utilize belts and bra tape to adjust the waist, keep shirts tucked in, and keep straps from falling down or create an impromptu cuff/hem on your pants
When in doubt, select a neutral head-to-toe monochrome outfit
If on a budget, consider choosing black, grey, camel beige items to hide fabric imperfections that could cheapen your look
Choose your accessories wisely:
Select sleek, simple neutral (& almost exclusively) monochrome shoes made with smooth (recycled/vegan) leather with
Pair almost any outfit with a shoe featuring a slight platform, block heel, kitten heel, and/or a sharply pointed toe to elongate your silhouette
Complement your outfit with structured, pared-back handbags with no logos (Focus on quality and construction, not the brand name) in a neutral shade and timeless silhouette
For jewelry, choose at most one statement piece and all others should be focused on different areas of the body (e.g. don't mix statement earrings with layered/bold necklaces or stacked rings * bracelets). When in doubt, choose simple diamond chains or earrings, sleek bangles or chainlink necklaces & bracelets, simple pendant necklaces, and minimalist rings in hardware that all go together
Embrace feature-enhancing makeup:
Cover up any dark circles, blemishes, or hyperpigmentation with a color-matched concealer
Lightly contour with a bronzer that complements your skin tone
Fill in your brows for a naturally full look (or get them professionally tinted)
Apply a light wash of rose, coral, or mauve blush
Use black mascara with a little bit of eyeliner and/or a subtle wash of brown eyeshadow on the lids
Apply a "your lips but better" nude shade or "just kissed' berry lipstick or pigmented lip balm for a subtle wash of color
Keep your nails clean, filed, and simple:
Maintain cut, cleaned, and filed short nails
Opt for a square or almond nail shape
Choose a timeless nail shade (pink, nude, red, beige, dark cherry, navy, dark purple, black) with no nail art
Hydrate your hands and scrub under your nails daily
Regarding your signature scent(s):
Ensure your body wash/lotion and perfume scents don't clash
Test perfumes for a trial day to ensure they smell divine with your unique pheromones
Choose a fragrance appropriate for the seasonal/occasion
Apply a dab on each wrist and on your neck/behind the ears. If the scent doesn't project well on you, try applying these small dabs on the cuffs and shoulders of your jacket/walk into it to get it on your hair (if it would stain your clothes)
Don't layer more than one heady perfume at a time or scents that don't have complementary and/or shared notes
Follow your dental & bodily hygiene routines religiously:
Floss every day (after each meal if possible)
Brush your teeth with an electric toothbrush twice a day
Have mints on hand if you're a garlic, spice, or coffee lover
Keep your lips & hands well-moisturized and protected with SPF
Shower your body daily and be extra diligent in scrubbing your privates, everything behind, and under your arms
Don't use very hot water in the shower (it burns/dries out your skin)
Exfoliate 2-3 times a week with a sugar scrub
Moisturize daily or anytime you get out of the shower
Apply SPF on any exposed sun (especially in the summer or when the UV index is high in your area)

Eprocto thoughts abt spooky creatures (。・//ε//・。)
Tw: Dub/con, Necrophilia ?(Cuz... Zombies)
Zombie 🧟
Literally unable to control their bowels, being dead you don't have the most control over your body...
That sloppy loose spinchter would absolutely collect air, causing constant windy farts, and even though they function as on-command farts the smell would still be HORRID from simply passing through zombie cheeks.
Skin is probably rotting which is gross HOWEVER... It'd be extra soft and elastic, you could knead it like dough, maybe help work some of that trapped air out??
Maybe they're sentient but still hungry?? Maybe you're a zombie lover and collect piles of rotting meat from the dumpsters behind grocery stores to take to your zombie pal?? Maybe they over indulge and lie down with a huge bulging gut that stretches way beyond living limits??? Maybe bubbly farts slip out of their ass as they groan and pant??? Maybe all the blood from that red meat sends them into a burping fit???
Werewolf 🌕
I think we can all agree werewolf diets are GNARLY, if not for being their soulmate/Luna/omega (and so on and so forth), they'd probably eat YOU if given the chance. Expect your freezer to be emptied out obviously, but also your refrigerator and cabinets. Raw meat, deli meat and nut bars will start to go missing, but soon it will be sauce bottles, leftovers with freezer burn, jars of olives and all kinds of pickled foods. Their breath will quickly smell like vomit if you don't own a werewolf proof kiddie gate.
Although they have stomachs of steel and likely wouldn't experience stomach troubles or bloating, you'll quickly become witness to the nastiest farts ever released into the atmosphere. They'd range from loud and quick duck quacks to long rumbling motor engine farts. The smell might not compare to rotting meat levels but werewolf stench will NEVER leave you, it will singe your nose hairs, coat your walls, sink into your fabrics, even soak into leather, like a skunk gone wrong.
Even if they're in their human form that ass is still going to be COVERED in hair, no matter the age, gender, sex, whatever, what's a wereWOLF without its fur? And how willing are you to spend hours helping a gassy werewolf wash the jungle in-between their fat cheeks?
If you're in its pack or are at least a candidate to join you HAVE to be scented, can't walk around like you're just anyone's human! Maybe it's a thrilling loving process where your werewolf lover sits on your naked form and carefully pushes fart after fart onto each and every body part of yours. Or maybe it's a secretive process from a werewolf that hasn't revealed itself yet, helping with the laundry just to rub your clothing against their crack, working up a sweat so they can drain the sweat drops into your body spray, shampoo and lotion. Taking a nap with your toothbrush between their ass so each bristle will be stained with their scent...
Vampires 🦇
Farts are quiet and SBDs are frequent but not mandatory, usually their gas releases in sort of a hum that vibrates whatever they're sitting on or laying against. Perhaps they have a form of fart echolocation, maybe you've planned a surprise party for a vampire as they got bored of birthdays after their 121st, and instead of reaching for the light switch they just begin to let out bubbly farts as they move around their home.
If you offer your neck to a vampire you better be aware of your diet, if the vampires lactose intolerant you better watch your dairy, if they're sensitive to raw vegetables you'd better cook yours thoroughly, and for the love of anything don't give a vegan vampire your meat eater blood, unless of course you'd like to see them grasp at their stomach and groan, releasing uncharacteristically loud farts and moaning shamelessly...
Suppose this is a vampire that's taken a liking to you, naturally you'll begin to bond with them and it'd intensify after each bite, but the thing is, there isn't exactly a limit to human devotion. One day a vampire could be nothing but someone you cross on the street who makes your heart flutter with no memory of what occurred the night before, and a year later that vampire could be your beloved owner that only speaks to you in commands, whenever they need a chair you're bending over before they can finish their sentence, and when the smell of their own gas begins to bother them how could you not dive between their cheeks and smell it?

Cowboy Peach & Mario  with Toad  @hollarityart @icecolebrew  @thechristopherescalante / photo : ejen
 I have been cosplaying Princess Peach for almost two years now and I have cosplayed as her in her regular princess gown, her vacation swimsuit, a witch version of her regular dress, her red carpet dress, her wedding dress, and now her cowboy outfit.
 I grew up loving Princess Peach when I was a child because she was a beautiful princess who could hold her own in a video game world. She’s demure yet determined, and a personal role model. Peach is such a joy to cosplay because almost everyone recognizes her and is so excited to see her. I especially love seeing how kids react to seeing Peach.
Conventions can be overwhelming and confusing to people, especially children, who are not used to all the characters and activities there, but Princess Peach is a familiar face they can recognize. Having worked with kids for a few years now, I enjoy being a reassuring presence and greeting kids and families with a warm smile and a Peachy platitude.
When the video game Princess Peach: Showtime was announced I knew I had to try one of her new outfits. She has several new costumes in that game and while I was drawn to many of them, it was Cowgirl Peach that called to me the most.
As a homegrown Texan it felt great to represent my state and heritage with this cowboy fit. For this cosplay I re-used my Peach wig, her brooch, and my Bowsette horns (another similar cosplay that has horns).
For the new elements, I thrifted and modified most of the pieces- the chaps were a pair of vegan leather pants I found at a thrift shop and cut into the correct chap shape. I also picked up a belt and cowboy boots at the thrift store too, and I modified the belt to fit through the chaps and through a rodeo style belt buckle. I work at a children’s toy store so I picked up some of my cowboy gear there (the hat and some accessories). And the lasso was a repurposed Wonder Woman lasso of truth, haha.
Tumblr media
I am big on recycling clothing items I already have, and this was a great down to earth cosplay to do that with. My husband cosplayed Cowboy Mario with me and most of his outfit is clothing items we already have plus additional cowboy accessories I picked up from the toy store I work at. His outfit is based on the Mario Party cowboy outfit!
The response was wonderful! So many people asked to take our photos and the gasps of recognition we heard when we turned a corner or got off an elevator were delightful. It really feels like being a celebrity when people stop to ask to take your photo. We even had a moment when we were talking to someone real world famous who has millions of followers (I won’t name drop) but people stopped to ask to take photos of us  while we were RIGHT next to them. It is so surreal, and makes me want to work harder each time I cosplay. It’s like being an ambassador for the character. You want to represent them respectfully and leave people with a great impression.

I am so impressed by your cosplays, you are really brilliant at what you do!!
where do you get your materials from? you talk about using natural leathers and wools a lot so I was wondering about how you acquire them and the kind of price they may be.
Thank you so much!
So my #1 choice for finding natural materials like wool and leather is actually thrifting! My Loki original design is mostly thrifted leather from old coats, skirts, and pants. Quite often too I’ll find stashes of fabric from when someone cleaned out grandma’s attic and donated all her fabric, and I’ve gotten good at telling the fiber content just from touch (and sometimes smell). Now, I’m fortunate to have a lot of secondhand stores in my area, and I know that may not be the case for everyone, but it’s worth a look!
If thrifting doesn’t help, I also have some other go-to places (keeping in mind I’m US based):
For leather, if I need something super specific or large pieces I’ll either browse Etsy or go direct to Tandy Leather. Some hides can be pricey, but Tandy especially has some amazing sales (Black Friday one is the best) I will always choose genuine leather these days over “vegan” plastic leather; the latter will disintegrate so quickly and you’ll end up having to remake stuff anyway! Better to make something that lasts.
Wools can actually be trickier and more expensive (easily anywhere from $20/yd-$60/yd or more). I’m lucky to have some smaller local independent fabric stores that carry cheap deadstock fabrics (basically end of runs from other places that will never be restocked). But one of my fave online shops is Fabric Mart, which also carries deadstock inventory and has incredible sales. You gotta jump on them pretty fast and you can’t get swatches, but if you keep an eye on them you can snag some fabulous wools, silks, and leather hides too!
At the end of the day, higher quality materials are gonna cost you more, so you kind of have to factor that in and make decisions about your priorities. For me, I’m happier making fewer costumes with better materials—so the expense is one of the reasons I don’t bust out 10 cosplays a year. Other folks are less concerned about fiber content or fabric quality and would rather have more projects , and that’s their prerogative! (I will say though that in a world where fast fashion is such a problem, I would rather be an advocate for slow making with materials that will last. End rant there xD)

Had dolls that have sadly sat on a shelf for about ten years now, cleaned but not really taken out or restrung. Just went on another cleaning spree and touched my goth boy who was all in pleather... Ughhhhh. My heart after having to throw out probably 60$ of absolutely disintegrating doll clothes. Temp controlled room, blackout curtains, low humidity. Did not help, just turned to powder. Except his pants which morphed to a very sticky-oily fabric. He has so many stains now, Looks like he went coal mining.
My point? If you have old vinyl/vegan leather/pleather or PVC clothes this is your notice to check on them! Don't be like me!

𝐃𝐎𝐕𝐄'𝐒 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐓 𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓 :
Tumblr media
Comfort food(s):
Anything spicy, anything Mexican or Italian cuisine, anything with avocado (including avocado by themselves—lightly salted YUM), anything vegan. But I also love every piece of fruit under the sun. I prefer snacking on fruit than ever to something sugary and full of carbs. I mean fruit DOES have sugar, but it’s the natural kind. I definitely prefer fruits like mango, tangerine, and all the berries—strawberry, blueberry, blackberry raspberry (as long as they aren’t too soft).
Comfort drink(s):
Okay let’s see here. Banana milkshakes. Cider. Cinnamon chai lattes with little star anise pieces to garnish. Anything from Twining’s because that’s my favorite tea brand. Major win if it’s the apple one that I spoke about earlier. Orange juice! Especially the Simply Orange. I have it every weekend with these yummy vegan avocado breakfast bagels that I learned from Madeliene Petsch’s YouTube vid. I love coffee of all types and varieties. In the autumn season I love going to coffee houses and getting their version of a pumpkin spice latte or something seasonal to that effect.
Comfort movie(s):
Okay I am gonna say anything horror. So we have the Scream movies, any kind of vampire movie but especially Bram Stoker’s Dracula (the 1992 one with Oldman and Ryder), I love the vintage Ouija board movies, that are called Witchboard and Witchboard II. I watched the sequel first and fell for it. Let’s see…. The Craft, The Lost Boys, Hocus Pocus, The Witch, Practical Magic, Suspria, The Crucible, The Love Witch. Labyrinth! Like you should see my electronic video collection it’s horrendous. AHHH how could I forget! WUTHERING HEIGHTS MY BELOVED. All The Omen movies! Oh and I love The Nun, and Immaculate was bad ass. I have Killjoy to thank for my new love of Hereditary! I have watched it at least once a month since lol.
Comfort show(s):
There are too many to count here. The first one I am gonna mention is Netflix’s Dracula. I love that rendition, there is nothing I would change and he is exactly as Stoker had in  mind for him: THE DAMN VILLAIN. SOOOO GOOD. But let’s see here: The Vampire Diaries (seasons 1-3), The Secret Circle (please bring it back or I’ll riot), Wednesday, The Originals, American Horror Story. Salem (the one with Mary Sibley where I got MOST inspiration of Nausi’s lore), oh and I love Dracula NBC, that one was honestly so good! But you can’t go wrong with the horror genre. It’s my fave.
Comfort clothing:
My black Victoria Secret track pants and my much-loved sweatshirt that matches perfectly with it. Jeans and oversized hoodies. Tanks and jeans in the summertime! Cute dresses with leather jackets and ankle boots. I love comfort but I also love style tooooo.
Comfort song(s):
Gravedigger by MXMS. Morbid Fasciation  by The Blood Red Shoes. Anything by Ethel Cain. Any and all gothic rock such as Depeche Mode, Bauhaus, The Cure. I love Bad Omens and Bring Me The Horizon and there are far too many songs to list. I am also a metalcore girl so I love Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Bullet For My Valentine, All That Remains. Seriously I could go on forever.
Comfort book(s):
Wuthering Heights. Dracula. The Vampire Diaries Books 1-4. The Secret Circle Books 1-3. Honestly (mostly) anything from L.J. Smith is fantastic. Deathless. Shadow and Bone. I am a sucker for gothic romances, and nobody can tell me otherwise. Dark poetry such as Segovia Amil and Rupi Kaur. White Oleander. Salt is for Curing. Stephen King. The House of the Seven Gables. There’s also about a thousand books that didn’t make this list but it’s because I am losing brain power.
Comfort game(s):
guys------ lmao. I am not a gamer. I will watch you all play your game of choice. But I will NOT do it. It’s just not my hobby and never has been. But please talk about it, go to town on it, etc.
𝖙𝖆𝖌𝖌𝖊𝖉 𝖇𝖞: @v011d 🖤 𝖙𝖆𝖌𝖌𝖎𝖓𝖌: @he11follows | @ripgray | @damnatore | @roznrot | @likeorpheus | @miercolaes + anyone else that would like to!

“The jacket is a 3-in-1 piece from Helmut Lang. The shirt is a thrifted linen piece for breathability. The skirt is from Andersson Bell, the vegan leather pants are from Kam Vercetti, and the derbies are from Oree. I would say layering is the inspiration for my style right now. There’s so much potential in putting pieces together.”

Femme Fatale Guide: Lingerie Essentials Every Women Should Own
Simple everyday bra and underwear sets in black and nude that match your skin tone: Think of items like a lined bra and seamless thong/bikini panty set. My favorites are the SKIMS Fits Everybody Push-Up Bra paired with the matching Fits Everybody Thong and the Natori Feathers bra paired with the Natori French Cut Briefs.
Sexy yet practical bra and underwear sets: Sexier options you can still wear every day and look good under your clothes. Consider an all-lace or animal print bra with coordinating all-lace or sheer underwear – love the bra options from Chantelle, Natori, Cosabella, and Simone Perele (these are pricey, so I look for them on sale) paired with Natori or Cosabella underwear. My favorite styles are the Natori Push-Up bras (I'm super flat-chested, so I need it for my clothes to fit properly, lol – otherwise the Natori Flora Contour Underwire Bra is stunning) with the Cosabella Never Say Never Comfie Thong & Natori Bliss Allure Lace Full Brief.
Ultra-sexy bra and underwear sets: Less so for clothes, more for yourself or for show. I love Fleur Du Mal for these bra/underwear lingerie sets.
Strapless bra: Natori Feather Strapless Bra. Thank me later!!
Lace bralette: Something comfortable that still feels a bit sexy. I love the options from Journelle, Cosabella, and Natori.
Satin/silk robe: To wear after the shower or around the house. Lilysilk, Victoria's Secret, Cosabella, and Fleur Du Mal have great options.
A quality pair of black tights: I love HUE and Wolford! The control top ones always feel the best for me, personally.
Sheer black thigh-highs with lace-stay-up detailing: Natori Feather range ftw yet again!
Sheer black tights with or without back seam detailing: Hue and Wolford, always!
Simple bodysuit/shapewear bodysuit: The SKIMS ones are great.
Elevated shapewear bodysuit (in a fabric like satin, lace, or vegan leather): I love the Spanx Shaping Satin Thong Bodysuit and the Commando Faux Leather bodysuit – perfect to wear with a pair of jeans and a blazer.
High-waisted sculpting underwear: SKIMS Seamless Sculpt is my favorite (runs on the smaller side!)
Satin slip dress: Can be worn at home or with a blazer/leather jacket for a night out.
Fully lace or lace trim slip dress: If wearing it alone could run someone's life, you're doing it right. Love the one from Cosabella. If you want to wear it out, try a vegan leather bralette, an opaque black brief, and lace or sheer black tights for a "naked" dress look or black pants/denim for a night-out look. Otherwise, save this one to feel sexy while relaxing at home or to wow a partner any night of the week. If you want some ultra-glamorous options, I suggest checking out Oséree but their items are $$$$ as a fair warning.
Satin/silk cami & shorts or pants set: For some equally comfortable and sexy loungewear or pajama options. I love styles with lace trim for that added feminine touch.
