I’ve been drawing a lot of young Verno and ended up drawing his first tragic backstory: in an attempt to save his sister from being sold to pay his father's debts, he illegally acquired Lumelles (the Stars of the story's title). But he lost control when he tried to use them, and destroyed his house and everyone in it.
