The height chart gets even funnier when you consider that Rick gives Kirby piggyback rides. Kirby, that hamster is only up to your feet.
i think that for reasons to do with this the earth accurate sizes doesn't actually work very well when you try to extrapolate it out, and i did intend it as a joke!! it's funny and i enjoy it, but it falls apart the second you try to consider them functioning with others 😂
like... is kirby small enough to be comfortably piggybacked by hamster sized rick? then he's too small to be held in coo's claws, let alone to fit in kine's mouth! this would likely be the case even if we just took kirby's "canon" size of 8-9 inches but plonked him in an earth accurate sizing for everything else
then, is king dedede a penguin accurate size (king penguin size: 85–95cm) or is he comparative to a human adult? either way, he'd be smaller than kine, as mola mola average 250cm tall (at least according to wikipedia. other sources say 300cm longs and up to 450cm tall) and easily dwarf humans here on earth.
or does dedede have to be comparative to kirby, who is comparative to rick, who is an 18cm tall hamster, making kirby probably 10cm at best, making dedede probably half the size of a king penguin though maybe closer to a blue penguin (45cm), meaning that kine could easily be up to ten times his height--
in general i kind of just prefer to size them comparatively, starting from kirby, and considering individual characters Bigger or Smaller. as much as i'd love to see an enormous semi-realistic sunfish kine basking happily in the ocean surrounded by tiny friends, i think that it's easier for me to work on a "kirby" size scale and consider them all aliens, at the end of the day 😂
this seems likely, given that female mola mola are apparently bigger than the boys! they can also supposedly spawn an absolutely mindboggling three hundred million (sorry. hang on. three HUNDRED million!?!?!?!?!) eggs at a time, so i hope you're all really really looking forward to seeing a Lot lot more of Kine around.
#you could work in a sort of 'kirby auto scales to his animal friends' mechanic i suppose. he's certainly been tinier before!#that could be enjoyable in a world building sense! you'd see many small items look BIG when you were with rick and vice versa with kine!#but i'd feel bad assigning enormousness to kine! he'd be quite difficult to get into just about any location and he's already a bit of a#dare i say#fish out of water#definitely fun to play around with in individual circumstances but hard to work into a broader world-scape. not impossible though!#asks

made the realization my vampire story would work best as a video game and now i can't stop thinking about it
#personal#like. vtm meets cyberponk. do you understand#it would be very focused on prioritizing... because you do play as a fully established character#but you get a bunch of jobs to take care of and you have to decide what you do first and most importantly how you solve it#you can combine certain jobs to do at once to save yourself time and effort but everything you do comes with consequences#if you ignore a problem for too long or deal with it poorly it will come back to bite you in the ass later. you can lose friends and such#basically you have it all from the start and then gradually like. work your way towards a single ending#locking yourself out of other paths because of the choices that you make etc etc and so on#friendships can help you out but they can also get in the way of other things so you have to think about like#how far you're willing to let yourself get distracted. but also no distractions is also a bad way to go at it because you'll end up alone#it would have a wide variety of endings but i suppose the 'canon' one would be the one where everything works out#because of the whole already established character thing. and also this is not real this is my story so i can do what i want#if it was an actual video game it wouldn't have a canon ending but it's never gonna happen so i can say it has a canon ending#but yeah you can play as heavenly the vampire hunter or as sun the vampire and then you get cool vampire abilities :]#i do like the idea of romance availability but they're different depending on who you play as#valentine can be romanced by both but he's a little brat so idk if you'd want that#isaac can only be romanced by heavenly because isaac is a gay man. valeska can be romanced by sun only because#valeska and heavenly are exes. so you can have a one night stand with her as heavenly and then she ghosts you LMAO#you can go into clubs... you can play carousel with npcs. it would be a very immersive experience#if you hang out at certain clubs too much then other vampire factions will be warier of you when you visit their club instead#you can forge alliances to be allowed into certain areas in town. you can disguise yourself. you have to hide your weapons#there's actual ways you can research locations or people involved in gigs so you can prepare yourself properly and potentially like#learn new things that open up a new way to deal with a situation#sometimes you have to wait until nighttime to be able to go somewhere because it's quieter around those hours. or vice versa#sometimes you have to wait a few days before someone can meet with you but if you miss the meeting you have to reschedule#and then you have to wait even longer. and some quests don't give you that much time so then you'd have to improvise#being spotted in a location can be dealt with by wiping security footage / killing the person who saw you. or just reloading your save#but if you've been spotted and you don't take care of it then that will ALSO have consequences. etc etc and so on#difficulty level in the game would determine how generous the game is surrounding stealth / time for quests / resilience of the guy you pla#and it wouldn't like. necessarily turn enemies into bullet sponges because that's lazy. it's much more fun to change other things

I spent a lot of time this ep trying to figure out why it felt so much like a filler episode but it didn’t, it felt like an extended goodbye... which I guess was the point. It was just a lot more of a rushed goodbye than even they expected

#someday I am going to move to an actual city for six months or a year#although at this rate it'll be in fifteen years when my kid is in college#nevertheless I'm gonna do it#and when I do I will do two and only two things#I will fuck a lot of people and I will learn to dance tango (and they will be extremely unrelated)#there is. in anywhere even remotely approaching striking distance (REMOTELY). one semi-organized group/munch of queer kinky people#I know them! personally! because I attended years ago! and they're still the only game in town#and like they're nice people but there were like six of us and none my type or even close + vice versa#there are obv more just lesbians around and I am sure many are kinky but it's more I want clubs/bars/groups/etc not partners per se#(and I want them not overrun with college kids which is its own chore and a half in these parts)#tbh I'm much more annoyed by the dance problem but it is fundamentally the same problem#you actually do need a certain sheer number of people in a location to get critical mass for kinda niche social activities#and numbers. we ain't got 'em#anyway this is apropos of my whining to a friend the other day about The Situation#and this being her quite wise although hilariously non-actionable suggestion#what I need to do in the meantime is stop being a child and do some other dance instead because I do just like partner dancing period#nevertheless whine whine whine

Rules i think you and Jason would have in your relationship:
- there is no jokes about “if I do this for you, you can just sleep with me to pay me back lol.” He does not find it funny at all and will low key lecture you on how sex is never something you owe him.
- you have a safe word for both sex and every day life. It can just mean you’re serious about something or it means for the other person to stop what they’re doing. Either way, if you feel uncomfortable, use it.
- jokes can only go on for a day max. By jokes I mean like if you told him “yeah that singular cabinet has always been painted pink.” After various vigilante incidents, it’s important that he knows what’s real. And if the other person safewords, you HAVE to come clean.
- you can go to bed angry all you want but you will be sleeping in the same bed. At the very very least, in the same room. This came about after you didn’t sleep in bed after a tough fight. Jason woke up alone in a cold sweat after a nightmare where you died. He couldn’t tell what was real and you walked in on him having a panic attack.
- you have a panic code. For instance if he says “mask?” you have to reply “copy” (I have venom on the brain) to confirm you’re ok and vice versa. You cannot intentionally ignore the code. If the person doesn’t respond in a certain time frame, Jason will show up to your location or you will call another bat to go to his.
- you have to at least cc each other on all decisions made in your living space. You wanna change the couch? All good, but let Jason know (he has weapons stashed everywhere).
- if one of you is in a bad mood, you have a code word to relay it to the other person. It doesn’t have to be the other person you’re mad at, but it just lets you say “hey emotions are running high and I want to punch a wall. I’m not going to take a joke well right now.”
- no making fun of the other person crying. There are extenuating circumstances for when you both cry over stupid movies and such, but as a general principle you can only tease about tears in the context of sex.
- speaking of sex, if one of you degrades the other, you have to tell them you didn’t mean it and do aftercare. You cannot just leave or fall asleep. Aftercare is a must.

one thing about me is im Not spiritual at alllll but also the one thing i do believe in is that certain places (cities towns forests beaches whatever) can like ~reject~ your spirit or whatever and you’ll wonder why you feel so negative about the place even tho there’s nothing objectively wrong with it and then other places will like inexplicably ~welcome~ your soul and you might not even be from there it’s just a question of you and your personality/spirit aligning with the place’s history and character 👍
#i think im basically not destined to live near an ocean/on a coast (even though i have all my life)#the best experiences of my life have been inland surrounded by mountains/hills and cold forests#feeling cradled by the hills and valleys knowing you are nowhere near the big scary ocean >>>>#i read a reddit thread abt this and i think people confuse this for like being uncomfortable bc of a place's material circumstances#like it is NOT about like. being freaked out in an unsafe city or sth it's about like. feeling on edge in an obejctively nice location for#no apparent reason#or vice versa feeling at peace in a 'lame' place for no reason#redditors are lame but im convinced of this. sometimes u just need to tap into deep ancestral memories and move to a new place on vibes alon
