Dark Ships from 2023
It's not the greatest year for villain/heroine or problematic ships I must say. It was really hard to find new juicy stuff but here is what I came up with by order of preference:
Homelander x Starlight (The Boys)
Homelander x Maeve (The Boys) - in a smaller scale
Agatha x Dracula (BBC Dracula)
Eren x Mikasa (Attack on Titan)
Debbie x Nolan (Invincible)
Ikaris x Sersi (Eternals)
Motoko x Puppet Master (Ghost in the Shell (1995))
Charlie x Charles (Shadow of Doubt)
Alice x Luther (Luther)
Gabriel x Michael (Star Trek Discovery)
Guts x Griffith (Berserk)
Happy holidays, everyone!

Just in case if anyone of you:
a) knows Polish and would want to read a charming fairytale about a selfish princess called Iskierka/Étincelle, who becomes a better person and saves a handsome prince during a magical journey;
b) doesn't know Polish, but would like to look at the illustrations from the said fairytale ;)
Photographs from the 1997 December issue of Już czytam (en. I Can Already Read), the Polish edition of J'aime lire (en. I Like Reading), a French paper for children.
I took photos only of the cover and the pages with the short story Wigilijna kareta (fr. Le Carrosse de Noël, en. The Christmas Eve Carriage), written by Évelyne Reberg, illustrated by Alex de Wolfe and translated into Polish by Wojsław Mrozowski.

Female Villains x Male Heroes!!!
Tumblr media
Nasty, horrible, mean villainesses with huge fucking crushes/lusts for the pure, heroic male leads!! Villainesses that wanna fuck the good guy side ways and the plot doesn't make her a good guy because of it!! Villainesses that wanna marry a good guy but it just makes them more fucked as person!! Villainesses that don't let their want for the good guy get in the way of her evil deeds!! Villainesses that do get carried away with their want for good guy!! Villainesses whose crush on the hero is totally separate from the main plot!! Villainesses actually managing to sway the male lead to give in to his dark urges with her- for just one night (; Villainesses who make you uncomfortable watching them obsess over and perv on the male lead!! Villainesses whose crush makes you s h i p them!!
Villainesses that wink at and tease the heroic lead! Villainesses that call him 'Pretty boy'!! Villainesses who sigh wistfully as heroic lead escapes them and go 'Damn... Another day, another day... '. Villainesses that dress up and do their make-up better when they know they're gonna see him even if nothing is gonna come of it!! Villainesses that take every opportunity to run their hand through his hair!! Villainesses that slip up and save their male lead's cute ass when someone else is gonna kill them!! Villainesses that get mad because this isn't fair, this isn't sporting, how can you be this hot? I need to destroy you. Villainesses being creepy as shit.
Male lead attempting to seduce and distract Villainess and her falling for it!! Yes!
I am a huge fan of the Villain x Heroine trope but we need to appreciate this version more!!
Barbara Kean and Jim Gordon, Eris and Sinbad, Katerina Petrova and Stefan Salvatore, and Zelena Mills and Rumpelstiltskin, to name a few good ones.

Placate
The hero wanted to believe it was one of their friends, an agency member, someone else, anyone else, they would have taken a burglar at this point.
But no. No friend, agency member, or burglar would leave the front door open so purposefully, so dauntingly.
They knew this day would come, they just didn’t imagine it would be so soon.
The light turned on.
“Where have you been?” The villain asked from the lounge chair, petting the hero’s cat.
It was very obviously a rhetorical question, the villain knew where the hero had been, because now the villain was here, too.
The hero’s eyes flicked down to their purring cat comfortable in the villain’s lap, back up to the villain’s expectant face.
“I was–am on an assignment.” They wondered how fast they would have to be to get their cat and then get to the panic button.
Not fast enough.
If they needed to be placating, they could be. It would what drew the villain to them, they knew that now.
“An assignment that takes six months?” The villain asked, lazily waving their free hand around. “An assignment that gives you this? It’s cutesy, comfortable. Too small for my taste, but you know that.”
It was a test hidden behind poisonously pleasant words.
Will you be telling me the truth? Are you foolish enough to lie?
A question the hero didn’t want to answer, but there were limited options.
Placate, placate, placate.
“It’s my final assignment.” The hero clenched their fists, nails digging into skin, forcing upon them clarity to think, a reminder not to stutter, not to feel. “Going civilian, for my safety.”
“Oh?” The villain’s eyes widened for a fraction of a second. “Do tell. What was so dangerous that your little agency felt the need to give you an identity change?
Another test.
“It was noted that the others–other–other villains,” The hero forced themselves to take a breath in, and clenched their fists even harder. “were targeting me, thinking it would hurt you.”
“Mm.” The villain cocked their head to the side, looking at the hero in an indecipherable way.
Disappointment? Amusement? Hunger?
The hero was never able to tell.
“Well. I can admit my faults, but this is an easy fix, my darling. I’ll handle the others. Now, the car’s been running just a bit too long, so if we could?”
The villain stood, still holding the hero’s cat.
“I can’t.” The hero’s fists unclenched, wondering if their cat could be swayed to jump from the villain’s arms. “I signed a contract. If I re-emerge, I could be considered an active threat, measures would be taken against me, um, I can’t.”
The villain smiled. “Now that is a bigger problem, but I could garner a few solutions. Come along, we can even bring…” They trailed off, looking at the cat’s name tag. “Chestnut.”
“I’ll become a public enemy. I don’t own the name Hero, I just use it, I–”
“And that’s the very problem, isn’t it?” The villain let Chestnut jump from their arms, watching the hero’s shoulders relax ever so slightly. “This day and age of heroics and villainy, it’s all very theatrical. We used to do this because of values, morals, plans for world domination.”
They gave the hero a once over.
“The other heroes are good at the limelight, thrive, even, it’s the whole reason they sign the contracts and take the name, but they can’t beat you in character, and the numbers of casualties in their fights versus yours speaks volumes. You weren’t good at the attention, not until I got to you, at least.”
“And I thank you for the help, but I’m done with the cameras, interviews, the saving people.”
“What a shame. You used to talk about being a symbol, about helping people, a hero through and through, not any of that pretending you’re a movie star. It’s what makes you…”
“Malleable?”
“I was going to say unique. No need for the dramatics.”
When the hero didn’t respond, didn’t move, didn’t even look like they were breathing, the villain’s polite mask dropped.
The hero hated that, how easily the villain could switch around their personality. They also hated the villain’s unblinking eyes.
The villain could blink, the hero was sure, but whenever it was just the two of them, the villain always made sure to be constantly watching.
“As I said, I can think of a few solutions to your problems.” They held out an expectant hand. “Shall we?”
“You were using me.” The hero blurted out. “You weren’t trying to help me be better, you were–you were–”
“I was what?”
“Making me into a tool. You would have turned me into a monster.”
The villain scoffed. “A monster? Please. You would have been beloved by the world, no contract or agency could hold you, you would have been second to none.”
“Except you.” The hero noticed that Chestnut was curling around the villain’s legs, slowly realizing that their best option at this point might have been to turn heel. “I would have been second to none except you.”
The villain smiled again, though it looked more like an animal bearing their teeth in annoyance.
“Eventually not. Once we’ve finished with the others, all the theatrics and the celebrity treatment, we could begin the real work. We could be equals, my darling.”
“You were manipulating me so that you could have the perfect opponent?” The hero felt bile rise in their throat.
There was evidence of the villain using them, solid proof shown directly after that scolding from the agency for allowing a villain to mentor them, but to hear it from the villain themselves was something else entirely.
“Twist my words in whatever way you’ll have. We both win. You won’t have to worry about the performance of being a hero, you can simply go out and save the day how you like. Tell me it’s not tempting. Now, it has been a treat tracking you down, my darling, they hid you well, but I must insist we leave. There’s a long drive ahead of us.”
“No.”
Chestnut had wandered closer to the hero.
“Ah, would you prefer we fly? It’s not my favorite, but–”
“I’m not going with you.” They reached down slowly, picking up Chestnut, hoping to make it look as though they were holding her for comfort.
The villain watched, their jaw clenched, anger barely concealed.
“I made you.” They seethed through an unusually quiet voice. “And if I have to, I will break you, and build you up again.”
The hero took a step back. “Find another hero to manipulate.”
With a deep breath, the villain collected themselves, never breaking eye contact with the hero.
“You know, part of the plan was to make you fall in love with me.” They admitted, taking only a step forward to match the hero’s step back. “Or at least have you grow fond enough of me that you wouldn’t betray me so easily. But obviously, it didn’t work. Lucky for the both of us, I can work with fear. You have an abundance of that, don’t you?”
The hero turned heel.
There was no placating a villain.

I Have Become The Hero's Rival/Your Ultimate Love Rival
Felix Chamberlain
Tumblr media
🦋 You were at the Chamberlain's manor, just slouching on their couch, all bored.
"What's the matter? Why do you seem to be sulking?"
🦋 Felix's sudden appearance made you jump out of your skin.
🦋 You were currently at their manor as per Claudia's request. She had ask you to come to their house to hang out, however, an hour had past but she still hasn't arrive. You had asked their servants yet they all say the same thing: "I don't know, My Lady."
🦋 You and Felix have been friends since childhood, thus you always talk to him informally and freely.
"Felix! Just right on time. Do you know where your sister possibly could be?"
"She left with Irene an hour ago."
"What?! But I did not saw them."
🦋 Felix just shrugged and you sighed. Those girls are really something, you thought. You stood up and was heading to the door but Felix stop you by grabbing your wrist.
"You're leaving, just like that? But you're already here."
"Exactly. I am here but Claudia and Irene are not here."
"But I am here, [Name]."
🦋 He saw a pen and grabbed it. "Lets have our own fun. We hadn't done this for a long time." he said. And he was right. Drawing on each other had always been a favorite hobby between the two of you, despite the scolding you'll receive later it was worth it.
🦋 You just gave him a closed eyed smile and agreed, "Alright."
🦋 Felix made sure to take a mental note to thank his sister and Irene later for helping him.

Kill The Villainess
Anakin
Tumblr media
🦋 After finishing his part, I realized that it was the same as the one I had previously written with another character and unfortunately I have no more ideas for him. But I promise to write for him next time. If I get any idea that is.
____...______...______...______...____
Marriage of Convenience
Zachary de Arno
"Count de Arno"
Tumblr media
🦋 You were outside playing with Nikola, having the time of your lives. Meanwhile, the Count was just staring of at his window, watching you smiling so wide and laughing so carefree.
"Would you like to take a break?"
🦋 Vincent's voice pulled him out of his trance.
"I can call for Our Lady to come here—if you'd like."
"No, no, there is no need to."
🦋 He immediately rejected the idea. Although he would like to spend some time with you, he didn't want for your happiness to be put onto halt. He does notice you becoming stiff and guarded around his presence. He honestly just wants you to feel comfortable around him like how you are currently with the little boy.
🦋 He feels it's very embarrasing and won't ever admit it but he did feel a little envious of the child you were giggling with.
🦋 He cleared his throat along with his thoughts then proceded with his work.
🦋 A little while after, he heard the door open and immediately looked up and he saw you.
"Um... s-sorry to interrupt you work I– "
"It's alright. What brings you here?"
🦋 You gave him his dinner. You asked Vincent about the Count as he was nowhere to be seen during dinner and you got worried for him. You decided to stay at his office until he finish his meal and he didn't object, wishing to spend some time with you. However, both of you were stuck in an awkward silence, neither knowing what to do nor say.
🦋 You saw an extra pen on his desk and out of habit you picked it up and started drawing on your hand, the Count just watching you quietly. After you were satisfied, you look up to see if the Count has finished his meal but instead you both locked eyes, after realization you both looked away.
🦋 You sighed, this time you decided to have courage, it's not like the Count will eat you out alive.
"You know Count, whenever I feel stressed out I woukd usually do this. It relaxes me and I also love to make arts."
🦋 Your oh so charming smile made the Zachary's heart skip a beat. Without thinking, he placed his arm in front of you.
"You can draw on mine too." He says with a little redness on his cheeks.
🦋 You were shock at first, but then chuckled and proceded to do as he said.
🦋 Zachary just looked at you with fondness evident on his eyes. This little moment will always remain forever on him.
Tumblr media
Bonus:
Your Smile Is A Trap
Kiyu Ahn
Tumblr media
🦋 this was only suppose to be historical manhwa's but I can't resist him. He must me protected at all times🥺
🦋 Kiyu doesn't want to be bothered with this idol thingy anymore. You know that and you respect his decision.
🦋 You were Kiyu's first friend at school, you sat behind him and since he was a new student you thought about helping him adjust. The more time you two spent together, the more the friendship blossom and eventually, you both started dating, only your families knows about this and you both prefer it this way.
🦋 That was until, his identity and real face was revealed. It was a hot mess and Kiyu is feeling pressured and you can see that so you decided to help him ease atleast.
"Kiyu, your hand." you gestured and he complied.
🦋 You picked up a colored marker that was beside you and started drawing on his face. He was surprise but sit still. That was until you started chuckling, he felt a little suspicious and ran to get a mirror.
"[Name]!!!" he screamed your name while you just laughed hysterically.
🦋 You finally calmed down after he returned with a cute pout on his face.
"Oh c'mon! We can always erase that. Here, you can draw on mine too."
🦋 Without hesistation, he picked up a colored marker and started drawing on you. Then it turn into a contest between you two.
🦋 Kiyu was clearly having fun, now the one laughing hysterically at your messy form eventhiugh he was on the same state.
🦋 Seeing him like this made you smile so wide, this was the Kiyu you know, the Kiyu you fell in love with. Having him return to his happy and innocent self made you feel relief, you hoped everyday could just like be this happy and carefree.
"What? *chuckle* why do you look like that?" He asked.
"Nothing, I'm just happy whenever I'm with you. Stop worrying about the others for now and lets have fun, yeah?"
🦋 Kiyu smiled at you gratefully. He felt really lucky to have you, he was blessed with an understanding and caring partner, what more could he ask for.

can you like.. make a wlw hero x villain pls🙏🙏 steamy, fluff, angst, your choice xoxo
“Mary loves the lamb, you know,” the villainess said and for a second, the heroine dropped her guard, revealing her surprise and confusion. But her enemy continued to circle her and it didn’t matter if she was gonna get distracted now or later. She was already in danger. “Lamb, you know, lamb, you know. Mary loves the lamb, you know.”
The heroine’s mouth dried out, desert dryness. She could barely move, hands tied behind her back. Maybe, she could run…but where? This lair certainly did not belong to her.
And the villainess’ mouth curled into a smile as her finger pressed into the heroine’s neck, gently, sweetly.
“And you each gentle animal, in confidence may bind, and make them follow at your call, if you are always kind.”
“Are you done?” the heroine snapped. She wasn’t in the mood for games nor for riddles. In fact, she was rather interested in getting away from the villainess as soon as possible.
“I’ve always been kind to you,” the villainess said. “Right?”
Her hand crept up and found a comfortable place in the heroine’s hair, resting, scratching, teasing.
It was challenging to ignore her close proximity. She smelled like coconut.
The heroine closed her eyes and prayed that her heart would calm down soon.
“I guess,” she said which wasn’t a lie. The villainess had been nice to her. “But nice is different than good.”
“Hm.” The villainess let go of her — thankfully — and came to a stop right in front of her. “You’re beautiful, have I ever told you?”
Well, not directly. Things like “being pretty must be difficult, hm?” had fallen out of her mouth but never things so…direct.
“Isn’t it a shame?” She took a step closer and the heroine did not take one back. “Your talent is being wasted. I hate to see you wither.”
“I’m a superhero.”
“Who gets to scratch the bodies off the pavement? Is that it?” she asked, laughing when she saw the heroine’s reaction. “You’re just there to tidy up after the massacre.”
“I take care of the public, too,” the heroine said, wanting to defend herself. She was scared. Because, yes, she wasn’t worth much to the agency and probably not even to the public. Fuck, she had done this for two years now, working for hours and falling asleep after hours full of trauma-worthy scenes.
If the villainess killed her right here, barely anyone would notice.
“Playing therapist for the masses?”
“It’s important—” The villainess leaned in, lips brushing the heroine’s ear.
“And why,” she said sweetly, one arm on the heroine’s shoulder, “do you think the agency has jobs like these? Maybe because they expect casualties? Maybe because they need them to pay you?”
“What are you tal—”
“Oh, little lamb.” The villainess smiled again and her finger snaked over the heroine’s arm, sending a shiver down her spine. “I’ve got so much to teach you.”

Frau Holle (2008)
If anyone of you:
a) doesn't mind low budget TV adaptations of well-known fairytales;
b) knows German or Polish, or knows none of them, but doesn't mind watching fairytales adaptations in languages unknown to them;
c) would like to watch an adaptation of Brothers Grimm Frau Holle, in which the mother and the second daughter get a happy ending and implied romantic endgames with positive characters;
then I recommend watching the 2008 ARD Frau Holle movie. It's not outstanding and the 2008 CGI in Frau Holle's world may hurt eyes a bit, but this movie is a pretty nice watch, if you like fairytales or at least if you're interested in watching different approaches to old stories. The creators understood the message of the original tale ("It's better to be hard-working and kind than lazy and rude") and decided to expand it ("If you're lazy and rude, it's never too late to change and become a better person, if you want to")
While both the mother and the sister are not "mere" villains here, they remain antagonistic characters (just like in the original story), so I included their implied endgames on my list of canon v/h ships with happy endings in live action movies.
The movie is available to watch on YT in German (in one part)
youtube
and with Polish voice-over in two parts

Hi! Can I request Fem! Criminal! Villain x Fem! Protagonist?
The villain is tasked to break into the protagonist's house and kill her in her sleep, but she just couldn't do it and decided to spend the rest of the night protecting the reader (protagonist)? + what would she do if the reader had a nightmare?
Sending you so much love!! 💓💓
It was all going like clockwork. Villain slid the lockpicking kit into her pocket and passed through the open window with a grace unlike any other. She fought off the shiver that came after being exposed to the brisk outside air for so long. Even with her thick leather jacket the cold air had seeped through as she climbed.
Silently, Villain slid the window shut, careful not to disturb the quiet with any of her footsteps. She padded across the floor and brought the apartment’s layout to her memory.
Judging by the blueprints she had studied, Hero would be asleep in the second room on the right. Villain slinked around a small kitchen table and approached the space. Hero had no idea what would happen that night, and if Villain was as slick as always, she never would.
It was a matter of stealth as she crept across the small space. Villain had been faced with much harder areas to navigate before, and the small apartment was almost child's play. Aside from the stray papers on the floor, there was nothing to accidentally reveal her location.
The moment she stood in front of the bedroom’s threshold, Villain could hear the soft pattern of Hero’s breathing. Fast asleep, and oh so helpless. A grin split Villain’s lips as she turned the doorknob.
Inside was a sea of darkness. Villain had to squint to make out the layout of the room, though everything was just as she had prepared for. A small desk in the corner, a window with the curtains drawn shut, and in the center- Hero, sleeping atop a small mattress.
Villain’s eyes narrowed as her mind switched into focus. Her hand drifted to her belt and coiled around a metallic hilt. Daggers were her weapon of choice- some may call it old fashioned, but she preferred a soundless slit of the throat rather than the blast of a firearm that was sure to wake the neighbors and leave her ears ringing. Maybe that was why she had been hired in the first place. Her employer had claimed that no one else had been able to complete the job. Amateurs.
She observed the rise and fall of Hero’s chest as she approached the bed. Soon to end forever. Villain drew the dagger above her head and it glinted in the single sliver of moonlight that fled through the curtains. One swing and it would all be over.
Hands braced on the hilt of her weapon, Villain swung the dagger down in a brilliant arc. Down, down, down.
A cry escaped Hero’s lips.
Villain froze. The tip of the dagger barely nicked Hero’s neck. Not even a speck of blood. Her chest still rose and fell, though that wasn’t what caught Villain’s attention.
That cry- it wasn’t from the Villain. It had nearly shook the walls of the room and yet Hero still didn’t wake. Villain broke her stance, observing her target, and for the first time noticed the wrinkle in Hero’s brow.
Hero was pale, and sweat glistened along her forehead. Villain’s dagger fell to her side and as her gaze trailed down she recognized the sheets tangled around Hero’s legs. Had she been dreaming?
Again a noise sounded through the space, though this one was much quieter, a mere whimper. Villain watched her target toss and turn in the sheets, her peaceful slumber suddenly anything but.
It was enough to make the Villain stumble back. Arms flailing and an expression laced with pure turmoil. Hero was nearly manic, and yet she still wouldn’t wake. Amidst her struggles a jumble of sentences escaped her. At first it was mere gibberish, though soon Villain began to understand the words.
“No-” Hero called to the air, “No, please- you can’t. You can’t-”
A jolt shot through her, enough for the Villain to fear that the Hero had awoken. “STOP!” She screamed, “Please, no- no- NO!”
But she did not stir.
Hero’s fight was that of the mind, and by the looks of it she wouldn’t emerge victorious. Pity flickered through Villain’s thoughts. Enough that she found herself sheathing the dagger. Against all better judgment she took a seat on the bed.
The silken sheets were warm beneath her. Villain brought her attention to Hero, whose breathing was so quick that Villain feared she may hyperventilate simply from whatever nightmare ailed her. It would be impossible for her to finish the job in this state. Much too messy, she would never get a clear shot.
A sigh fell from Villain’s tired form. She again looked at her target. There were tears in the corners of Hero’s eyes and she continued to mutter all whilst asleep. It would be so easy to wake her, just a mere shake of the shoulders, and yet to wake the Hero would be to compromise Villain’s mission. She couldn’t risk it.
Instead Villain found herself reaching out towards her enemy. Her own hesitant thoughts were not enough to stop her as she laid a hand upon Hero’s forehead and gently brushed aside a lock of hair. Hero’s clothes were doused in sweat and yet the Villain had no trouble straightening out the folds in her shirt and undoing the covers from where they had coiled around Hero’s ankles.
Villain’s hand again found the Hero’s face, this time to rest on her cheek. Her thumb brushed lightly over the skin, pale with worry, and she smoothed the wrinkle in Hero’s brow. “Shh, it’s all right,” Villain whispered, “It’s just a dream.”
Somehow that seemed to steady Hero even amidst her slumber. Villain continued to whisper reassurances, unsure if the Hero could actually hear her though glad that she had quieted. She moved to stand up and retrieve the dagger she had sheathed before, only to have Hero lean into the touch of her fingers.
Villain froze. A hand rose, creeping across the sheets until it eventually found its target. Hero’s own hand covered the Villain’s, and it took all her self control to keep her breath from hitching. Soft skin brushed across her own, a weak attempt at capturing her hand but a valiant effort when all done in sleep. This was not good.
If Villain wanted to finish the job she surely would have to pry Hero’s fingers away, but she couldn’t risk waking her up. Any movement could trigger her to wake. Villain had been quite lucky to get this far without alerting the crime-fighter, she couldn’t risk it now. Not when she was so close.
And still, as her fingers closed around the dagger she felt the smallest pressure among her trapped hand. Hero sighed sweetly, and as she did so her grip tightened. Safe. The nightmare had finally gone.
Villain cursed herself silently. She couldn’t do it- not tonight.
She stayed there for the remainder of the night, only fleeing into the shadows when the first rays of sun began to break over the horizon.
The crackle of her radio was a constant reminder, Employer’s task forever stuck in her mind. Hero would have to fall one day, though not yet. Villain would keep telling herself that each night she snuck into the Hero’s quarters.

There are still a couple more shows on my PTW list for this season that haven’t aired yet.
Why the fuck do I do this to myself.
Akiba Maid War: Watch this show I am begging you on my knees
Bibliophile Princess: The cinematic equivalent of crusty molasses. Dropped.
Blue Lock: Whoever came up with “Edgy death game but it’s actually a shonen sports anime“ is a goddamn genius.
Bocchi the Rock: Has the potential to be the best cute girls band show since K-On.
Chainsaw Man: I’m officially aboard this hype train let’s GOOOOOOOOOOO
Do It Yourself: It’s a damn good season for cute girls, what can I say?
I’m the Villainness, So I’m Taming the Final Boss: I feel like otome isekai genre is rapidly growing just as stale as its male counterpart, but this one might have some life to it.
Mob Psycho 100 Season 3: ONE AND ONLY OOOOOOONE
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury: GUNDAM UTENA GUNDAM UTENA GUNDAM UTENA GUNDAM UTENA GUNDAM UTENA
My Hero Academia Season 6: The fact there’s no movie announced this time gives me hope this season will rise to the top again. Fingers crossed!
My Master Has No Tail: Feels like the weakest parts of Eccentric Family and Rakugo Shinju combined. This one is next on the chopping block if it doesn’t pick up soon.
Pop Team Epic Season 2: I still don’t get the double voice actor gimmick tbh
Raven of the Inner Palace: Historical fantasy josei with courtroom politics and social commentary? You better believe I’m here for that.
Reincarnated as a Sword: Yeah, it’s the obligatory isekai, what do you want from me?
Spy x Family: Are you ready for more Anya faces? Because I sure am!
Urusei Yatsura: Just Lum Just Lum Just Lum Just Lum Just Lum Just Lum Just Lum Just Lum Just Lum Just Lum
Yama no Susume Season 4: Okay, but... this season isn’t gonna be all recap, right?

Top Anime Fall Season Week 2
Don't see your anime in Top 10? Vote at this link!
Apologies for the delay! Frieren takes the top this week with solid episode after solid episode. The Eminence in Shadow rises one spot as well, with Spy x Family falling to 3rd place. Meanwhile, Shy and Undead Unluck joins Top 10! This season is very strong, so I will have my eye out to see which anime fans have the most tenacity in voting on our charts this season!

Wingman
The civilian had begun to carry a knife in their pocket, something the villain hadn’t accounted for.
“Ha!” They laughed sharply once they had gotten free of the ropes. “Now what?”
“You are positively feral, you know that?” The villain said, not looking up from their book as they used one finger to lift the hero in the air.
“Oh, I’m sorry. Would you rather I use my nonexistent powers to escape?” They struggled in their current state. “Not all of us can lift people with our minds.”
At that, the villain did smile. “I don’t expect you to use some imaginary power of yours. I do, however, expect you to be a good hostage and sit still.”
With another twirl of their finger, the knife went flying away.
“And I expect people to look me in the eyes when they speak to me.”
Sighing quite dramatically, the villain set down their book, and looked up at the hovering civilian.
“Better?”
“Much, thank you. So while I’m here, can I get a schedule of your kidnapping plans next week? I have a work thing.”
“Are you asking me to postpone? My sincerest apologies, but I do require the hero’s attention.”
“Oooh, someone has a crush.” The civilian was beaming ear to ear. “You can say you miss them, I won’t tell.”
The villain scowled. “Pest. I don’t get ‘crushes’ on people I work with. Nor do I go after people in committed relationships.”
“He’s not in a relationship.” The civilian raised an eyebrow. “Work with? What, do you clock in, take lunch breaks together?”
“I beg your pardon, what do you mean he’s not in a relationship? Aren’t you his partner?”
The civilian gagged. “I would never. He’s not my type, and you didn’t hear it from me, but the spandex doesn’t do him any favors.”
Oh.
Not ‘oh’ about the spandex, the civilian was right, but ‘oh’ about the lack of relationship.
“But all my intel–”
“Jeez, you stalker.” The civilian snorted, half joking. “We’re just friends. Practically roommates, at this point. That’s probably why you assumed we’re dating. I don’t blame you, a lot of people tend to think that, especially when he carries me to safety so often. Now that I think about it, it’s kind of your fault people think we’re a thing. Hey can you put me down?”
Obliging, the villain gently lowered the civilian, though still keeping them a few inches above the ground.
They were still a hostage, after all, and the villain was a professional.
“Yeah, that’s what I meant.” The civilian said flatly. “But I was serious. If we can work around next week–”
“Hero’s single?” They interrupted.
“Tragically so. I try to set him up every so often, but he’s always been uninterested. Now about next week–”
“How would you like to never be a hostage again?”
“Getting rid of me already? I thought we were friends. We did have that one lunch together.”
“Listen, pest. If you set me up with Hero, I’ll never kidnap you again.”
The civilian smirked. “I thought you didn’t crush on the people you work with.”
“I’m a villain, I’m allowed to change my moral code whenever I like.”
“Oooh, someone’s got a crush.”
Glaring, the villain twirled the civilian upside down.
“Hey!”
“What do you say?”
The civilian thought for a moment.
“And you’d never kidnap me again?”
“Well.” The villain cleared their throat. “I would at least be willing to work around next week. I still need something to get the hero’s attention if this goes well.”
The civilian grinned. “Consider it a deal…can you put me down now?”
“Pest.”
