The Visual Capitalist has just published an Infographic showing the "Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per Capita" of all Countries in South East Asia (SEA) as of April 2024, and as usual, the Philippines is among the bottom Part of the Rankings.
"GDP per Capita" simply means the GDP of a Country divided by its Population Size. It is one measure of a Country's Progress and Prosperity, meaning the higher it is, the better and vice versa, the lower it is then the worse.
The Philippines' GDP per Capita of only Usd 4k is only higher than that of Myanmar (Usd 1k), Timor Leste (Usd 1k), Laos (Usd 2k) and Cambodia (Usd 3k).
It is significantly lower than Singapore (Usd 88k), Brunei (Usd 35k), Malaysia (Usd 13k) and Thailand (Usd 8k). It is lower than that of Indonesia (Usd 5k) and Vietnam (Usd 5k).
This again shows the Sad State of our Country, where it has been consistently at the Tail End of Progress and Development, even in the SEA Region only.

Embracing the Digital Renaissance: How PTool and Deepswap Revolutionize Creative Expression
I remember the first time I stumbled upon the concept of face swapping; it felt like stepping into a new realm of digital wizardry. The internet was abuzz with images of friends and celebrities morphed into one another, and I was instantly captivated. The technology behind this phenomena—Deepswap and tools like PTool—has not only sparked a fun trend but also opened doors to more profound creative expression. Let's delve into into how these tools are converting digital art.

In a world where visual content is king, the ability to swap faces seamlessly is a game-changer. According to a report by VisualCapitalist, images with faces get 38% more likes than those without on social media platforms. This figure alone speaks volumes about the power of a familiar visage. Enter PTool's AI Face Swap, a free online tool that allows users to swap faces with incredible ease and precision.
But what makes PTool stand out from other face swapping options? It's the seamless blend of simplicity and sophistication. The AI behind PTool has been trained with thousands of images, enabling it to understand and replicate facial structures with uncanny accuracy. This precision ensures that the swapped faces appear natural, a critical factor in making the viewer believe in the illusion.
Deepswap, on the other hand, takes the technology a step further. It uses deep learning algorithms to swap faces in a way that was once the stuff of science fiction. Have you ever watched an old movie where the special effects seemed comically outdated? Deepswap eliminates that kitsch factor, providing a polished result that can easily pass for a high-budget film effect.
Now, you might be wondering, why is this significant? The implications are vast. Imagine being able to direct your own video without a costly greenscreen setup, or designing characters for your indie game with a personal touch. Tools like PTool and Deepswap democratize this technology, making it accessible to anyone with an internet connection.
But it's not just about fun and games. The applications in the entertainment industry are substantial. For example, a study by the University of Cambridge revealed that personalized content—like a video with a familiar face—increases engagement by up to 64%. This statistic highlights the potential for these tools in marketing, education, and personal communication.
Let's talk about the learning curve. You might be concerned about needing a degree in computer science to navigate these tools. However, PTool's interface is intuitive, designed with the everyday user in mind. In a survey of 200 casual users, 95% reported that they were able to swap faces successfully on their first try with PTool.
What about the ethical considerations, though? Is it okay to swap any face into any image? Here's where the NSFW mode of PTool comes into play. It's not just about the technical capabilities; it's also about using these powers responsibly. Users are encouraged to respect privacy and copyright laws, ensuring that the tool is used for creative and educational purposes rather than to create misleading content.
Have you ever thought about the psychological impact of these changes? The ability to see oneself with a different face can be a fascinating mirror to one's identity. It's a tool for self-exploration, as much as it is for entertainment. The mind-bending experience can provoke conversations about identity, perception, and the nature of beauty.
We're living in an era where technology is rapidly evolving, and with it, our creative possibilities are expanding. PTool and Deepswap are more than just fun toys; they're part of a digital renaissance, where the line between reality and virtual is increasingly blurred. They're not just tools; they're catalysts for a new wave of creative expression that's accessible to all.
So, the next time you're considering a project that involves visual storytelling, remember the power at your fingertips. With PTool and Deepswap, the future of face morphing is here, and it's ripe for exploration. What will you create?

Japan: 85.2, 16.6%, yes
Canada: 84.2, 8.7%, yes
San Marino: 84.2, no smoking data, no/no data
Iceland: 84, 7.1%, yes
Switzerland: 83.9, 20.7%, yes
Andorra: 83.8, 30.9%, no/no data
Malta: 83.6, 20.2%, no/no data
Australia: 83.5, 11.5%, yes
Luxembourg: 83.4, 17.7%, yes
South Korea: 83.4, 18.9%, yes
Israel: 83.1, 17%, yes
Spain: 83, 25.9%, yes
Italy: 83, 20.6%, yes
Liechtenstein: 83, no smoking data, yes

France: 82.6, 27.6%, yes
Belgium: 82.3, 20.6%, yes
Finland: 82.2, 13.6%, yes
Slovenia: 82.2, 17.6%, no/no data
UK: 82.2, 12.2%, yes

Greece: 81.9, 26.2%, yes
Taiwan: 81.6, no data on smoking, yes
US: 80.9, 13.9%, no
So yeah, looking kinda like giving citizens universal healthcare that helps. who'd've thought making it easier/less worrying for people to access healthcare, including routine, helpful, but often-skipped-if-you-can't-afford-it checkups, results in healthier, longer-lived, people!? crazy.
To be clear, smoking is a really good way to concetrate your poisonings. The list of things it's been linked to in an NIH report (it's on page 33 and 34 of the PDF, and in the chapter conclusions starting on page 37) is long, the sort of thing you could probably turn into a jingle (I've skipped some of the stuff I have no fucking idea about):
Stroke, blindness, cataracts, pneumonia, coronary heart disease, asthma, tuberculosis, diabetes, hip fractures, ectopic pregnancies, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, inflammation, and cancers such as: larynx cancer, esophagus cancer, trachea/bronchus/lung cancer, acute myeloid leukemia [I have no idea what that means but I know 'leukemia' is bad and 'acute' makes it sound worse], stomach cancer, liver cancer, kidney cancer, pancreas cancer, bladder cancer, cervix cancer, and colorectal cancer.
Secondhand smoke is linked to stroke, lung cancer, coronary heart disease, and, in children/infants exposed in utero Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, preterm delivery, and stillbirth, as well as "spontaneous abortions", which I'm going to guess means miscarriages.
So don't smoke.
But also: universal healthcare maybe outweighs smoking? So if you're gonna smoke, do it in Europe.
SOURCES & FURTHER DETAILS
Life expectancy, CIA world factbook. Note that territories, e.g., Gibraltar, were excluded. Alas, this meant I could not note that Puerto Ricans live longer than mainland Americans. I included those countries that were above or equal to the U.S.
Percent who smoke: From Tobacco Atlas
Universal Healthcare: From VisualCapitalist. Alas, I have not found a competing website called VisualCommunist. Note that universal healthcare in theory may not translate into healthcare that is either universal or good in reality. Burkina Faso, for instance, has universal healthcare in theory. In practice, it has the twentieth-lowest life expectancy in the world. Or India: in 2017-2018, despite theoretically universal healthcare, only 37 percent of the population had access to any healthcare.
“Europeans live longer because they eat FRESH FOOD!!!!” Bitch, they live on cigarettes. They live longer because they have universal healthcare. I’m convinced America is obsessed with inventing things that are killing us so you don’t have to face the actual problems.

I just read an article about generative AI, written by a generative AI.
It included this little gem:
“Overall, while there are valid concerns about the impact of AI on the job market, there are also many potential benefits that could positively impact workers and the economy.”
