ahhh! i was so excited about this prompt and i finally got around to it :D

Drab Green Dress

ignore the language, i did not check to make it period-accurate. however the fashion is meant to be 1870s, so look that up for referencing how the dresses and hair look!

Lily sees her across the room and she knows.

Her dress is fitted perfectly. She must have money to be able to afford the best seamstress in the city. Or maybe she's just so beautiful any dress would look good on her.

The dress is pink and frilly, with blue and yellow ribbons adorning it. Her blonde hair is done up high with bows and her ears are weighed down with heavy jewels.

Lily isn't so fortunate. She comes from little money. All she can afford to wear is a simple, drab green dress. No frills or ribbons. Her hair is down, only a flower she picked herself to decorate it, forget any jewellery. The fact that she even managed to attend such an extravagant event evades her.

Lily may be poor, this girl may be rich. Lily may be a freak, an outcast, a strange girl. But something tells her she has a chance. Something tells her this girl is like her. So she takes a chance, and crosses the room.

Lily receives many stares as she dares walk into the centre of the crowd, amidst the wealthy, but she continues on.

"Excuse me, my lady," Lily grabs her attention. "I wanted to introduce myself. I'm Lily Evans." The girl gives her a genuine smile, her eyes show fascination and curiosity as she turns her attention to Lily.

"Pandora Lovegood, lovely to make your acquaintance."

You met Charles through your Uncle Ayrton’s foundation. You were at an event with your Aunt Viviane before the Brazilian GP and Charles was a volunteer.

Everything was so easy with him, he made every effort to make sure you knew how much he loves and appreciates you. Charles didn’t even force you to move to Monaco, but as soon as you told him you were moving there for the foundation, he cleared space for you.

You never celebrated things for yourself, but Charles made sure that you knew how special you were to him, so maybe that’s why the situation you found yourself in hurt so much.

“Mon amour, I have to go to Maranello for a few days. Ferrari emergency, will you be okay?” Charles asks, and you can’t say no to him. The look he gives you tells you that he genuinely wouldn’t go if you objected.

“I’ll be okay Charles,” you tell him, following him to the bedroom to help him pack up. “Drive safe, môr,” you kiss him before he leaves. Charles didn’t tell you how long he would be gone, so there was a small bit of hope in you that he would be back home for your birthday.

The few days passed until it was the night before your birthday. You spent the day working at the foundation, eagerly awaiting Charles’s return that evening.

“I’m sorry, I have to stay a couple more days. I miss you,” Charles says over the phone as you make dinner.

“It’s okay, I know you tried,” you can’t help but to hide your disappointment for the rest of the phone call. Yet again, you crawl into an empty bed. When midnight strikes you can’t fall asleep, but that doesn’t matter much when your phone rings.

“Happy birthday! We’re sorry we couldn’t fly over from Brazil,” your father says on the video call. Your smile hides the sting.

“Thank you, Papi. It is just another day,” the words feel fake. You used to believe that, but the man who isn’t here changed your view.

“Nonsense. It is your day. I am giving you the day off, treat yourself to a spa day and a nice lunch,” your aunt tells you.

“Thank you, I won’t do any work, promise,” you yawn, wiped from the day.

You wake up late, immediately checking your phone for a message from Charles. Unfortunately for you, it feels like everyone but Charles messaged you. Hell, even Carlos texted you. Maybe he is just waiting to call you later.

The spa is wonderful, and takes up most of your afternoon. Despite the air of relaxation, you can help but to check you phone for a message from Charles, even a silly instagram reel would suffice.

Heidi invites you to a birthday dinner with Carmen, Kelly, and Lily.

“How has your birthday been so far? I just know Charles gave you the most thoughtful gift,” Heidi says as you sip on wine. You mask your grimace with a smile.

“It has been very lovely. I was able to sleep in late then I enjoyed a long afternoon at the spa. Very relaxing,” you tell them, leaving Charles out of it. The dinner is long, and you do enjoy it, but as time goes on, your heart hurts more.

Heidi pulls you to the side before you get to your car, well, Charles’s car.

“Charles forgot, didn’t he?” She asks, not giving you time to respond. “Listen, the teams have a way of occupying our guys so much that they don’t realize what day it is when they get called in. It isn’t an excuse, but keep that in mind,”

“Thanks, I needed to hear that. And thank you again for organizing the dinner,” you pull Heidi into a hug.

During the drive home, you can feel tears pricking in your eyes. When you get home all that awaits you is a text from Charles saying that he is stuck in meetings and to not wait up for him, that he will call in the morning.

You lay in bed, finally letting the tears fall. You are mad at Charles, Ferrari, the world. There is nothing you wish for more in this moment to be back home in Brazil. You don’t answer your father’s phone call, knowing he will ask how your birthday was, and you cannot lie to him. Instead, you fall asleep, still in the dress you wore to dinner, wondering if you would ever really be the number one priority to Charles.

meanwhile in Maranello…

Charles and Carlos leave the meeting, nearing Midnight. Carlos drives them to the nearby apartment they are staying in for the duration of time Ferrari needs them.

“How was Y/n’s birthday today? Did she enjoy your gift,” Carlos asks, thinking to the many thoughtful gifts he’s received from Charles.

“Fuck. That was today?” Charles panics, looking at his phone calendar.

“Charles, you didn’t?” Carlos feels his heart drop for his teammate.

“I did. I got so caught up here. I need to call her,” Charles immediately calls you, but you don’t pick up. “She didn’t answer, she’s probably asleep,” Charles can feel the tears in his eyes. He feels awful.

“I’ll call Fred, you start packing. Drive back tonight,” Carlos tells him as he parks the car. Both waste no time. Charles is packed to leave within five minutes, and Carlos left no room for negotiation.

Charles drives all night, making it back to the Monaco apartment just after 4:30 in the morning.

He walks into your bedroom quietly, not wanting to disturb your sleep. His heart breaks at the sight of you clutching his pillow, still in the dress from the night before. Charles is quick to carefully strip the dress off of you, and put his t-shirt on you. After getting you under the covers, he slides in beside you, holding you close. Even if you are upset with him, he is even more upset with himself.

When your alarm goes off in the morning, you feel the familiar warmth beside you and your heart melts a little. Charles groans, wiping his eyes as you quickly turn off the alarm. You realize what him being here means, he drove all night.

“Charles, go back to sleep,” you whisper, carefully getting out of bed.

“But I missed your birthday,” he groggily says, fighting the sleep that is trying to pull him under.

“I know, we will talk about it when I get back from work, okay? Get some sleep, you must’ve driven all night,” you tell him gently, silently getting ready for the day.

When Charles wakes up, he spends the day cleaning, restocking the fridge, and picking up the gifts he bought you months ago. He even makes your favorite dinner and his mom’s tiramisu. Carlos called while he was cooking to ask how things were going and to wish Charles luck.

“Charles? You didn’t need to do all this,” you tell him when you get home, the delicious smells from the kitchen leading you to him.

“I did, mon amour. I feel awful,” Charles wraps his arms around you, pressing a kiss to your forehead.

“I know, and Ferrari isn’t an excuse for what you did, but maybe you can make it up to me,” you offer a small smile.

“I have a whole night planned. Let me make it up to you,” Charles takes off your jacket for you, instructing you to sit at the dinner table. Your face lights up at the meal sitting in front of you, the candles burning, a perfect dinner date.

“Môr, you didn’t have to do all this,” you tell him when he sits beside you, serving you before you have the chance to do so for yourself.

“I was going to cook for you regardless. I will always treat you like the queen you are,” Charles smiles. You make small talk over the meal, avoiding the elephant in the room. You want to stay mad at him, but you can’t. You love him so much, and he’s made so much effort into making it up to you. Honestly, you forgave him as soon as you woke up and saw him, but you might as well milk it.

“Okay, I have a few gifts for you, but come into the bedroom first,” he tells you when you finish the dessert together. You follow him to your room where new matching silk pajamas wait on your bed, fuzzy blankets, and some snacks.

“Cuddles and a movie?” you ask with a small smile.

“Of course. While you change, I’ll go get your gifts,” Charles says, stepping out of the room. He returns a couple moments later with three boxes. You carefully open them in the order he gives them to you. The first is a white hoodie with his racing number and your uncle’s racing number stitched on the left arm, subtle but thoughtful.

“I thought that you might want something cozy for race days, especially the colder ones. There is one in red and one in black in the closet,” Charles smiles as you hold the softest hoodie known to man.

“Thanks, môr, I love it,” you smile, setting it to the side. You open the second box, it is a signed photo of your uncle and parents together, it must’ve been right before he crashed. You look a Charles a little teary-eyed.

“Ah, I should’ve saved that for last. There is someone who collects a lot of memorabilia and I reached out to see if he was willing to sell anything of your Uncle’s. When I told him it was for you, he gave it for free. Said you deserved it. Truthfully, I was going to give it to your dad for Christmas, but I thought you’d want a piece of your family here,” Charles rubs his neck shyly. You let the tears fall down your cheek as you look at the trio.

“Thank you,” you choke back a sob, flinging your arms around Charles as he holds you tightly.

“One last present,” Charles smiles, handing you a small box once you’ve composed yourself. There is a set of keys and you look confused at him. “Those aren’t your keys, it’s more symbolic. Your Ferrari Roma will be delivered next week,” he tells you, worried you are about to freak out.

“You bought me a car?”

“Well, even though I’m fine with you taking the keys to my cars, I know you don’t always feel comfortable doing so. So, I got you a car,” Charles smiles, watching you process it.

“Wow, thank you. I’ll, um, put these away. Put your pajamas on so we can watch a movie,” you carefully pick up the hoodie and picture. Charles doesn’t hesitate to put on the comfy pajamas and get in bed with you. He puts on your favorite movie and holds you close.

“I really am so sorry I missed your birthday,” Charles says as your head rests against his chest.

“I know. I’m happy you are here now though. Thank you for coming home last night and making it up to me. I love you,” you turn your head so you can look at him.

“There is nowhere else I’d rather be. I love you too,” he kisses you sweetly, happy he didn’t ruin everything.

this is a band au for the marauders era BUT the original marauders are not the band. let me explain.

Band: Sirius, Peter, Marlene, Dorcas (no band name yet so shoot your shot if you want to)

the marauders era characters have a LOT of different roles here. Regulus and Pandora are dancers, Mary and Peter grew up together & met Remus in highschool in America and did music but now Mary and Remus are somewhat duo singers. (i made Remus southern you'll get why in the fic) Alice is kind of an enigma but we'll get to know her. I'll show you all her colours i promise. Evan manages Mary and Remus and has such a goofy big brother personality. MINERVA the queen that she is, is basically the band's mother/manager. fluffy black brothers!! oh, and andromeda is dead.

i know what you're thinking "where the fuck is james?? lily?? barty??" hehe WELL you're not gonna like this. lily is the villain here and not in a good way. it was a VERY toxic marylily and lily is the Casual girl (chappell roan) ANYWAAAY you're gonna see a LOT of that BUT she does have her redemption arc. i think. maybe.

barty broke up with sirius 2 months before the beginning of the fic (which starts on their american tour at the last couple concerts) they grew up together, its very bittersweet, might give you heartburn. AGAIN redemption arc, they do have a heart-to-heart.

and uhh james is a very happy very sudden very scandalous surprise

ch. 1

this fic in short is the band through their last leg of the american tour when mary flies out early and sirius asks her to join them for the rest of the tour and the european tour in a couple months. mary and sirius hold each other up through harsh breakups and slowly find new love. the marauders era do a lot of dumb shit make a lot of memories. exes come back and get dragged out, maybe-soulmates enter their lives and life happens all at once. but theyre still just kids and they have a lot of laughs

don't worry guys, every couple shall get their minute of fame

basically the journey (and reflective of a couple of characters) of their life together. they find love, they find FRIENDSHIP, they find beauty in the little things, they find laughter and peace and passion. this entire fic for me was to discover all the little things, the day to day things that makes life what it is: beautiful. it's filled with jokes and family and bittersweet memories. its those moments you want to remember when you're old in your rocking chair or young on a porch swing. its all the little bright places.

The Breach: Part 1

Magnus Bishop & Osiris Bishop, Magnus Bishop x Marcus Sharpe

A/N: So, Osiris Bishop is one of my ILW MCs, and also Magnus's cousin. And I just could not get this idea out of my head, so have this which takes place about a year after the main WIndverse plot

Part 2, Part 3

Magnus made a note to himself that next time he wanted to use vacation days he was going to use them to take out his nieces or he was going to visit Marcus. Going back into the very woods he’d nearly died in and then spending the day trekking through a cave system with a stranger and a paralegal was not his ideal vacation. But there had been no way he’d be able to find another way to get both him and Amalia here, and even less of a way he could tell Jina the real reason he needed the vacation days.

“What the shit…” Magnus gasped as he stepped into the cavern. 

There, like it was just a normal part of the cave, was a swirling and pulsing portal of cyan light. It made the shadows of the cave dance and filled Magnus with this strange need to go and hide while also trying to pull him forward like there was a hook in his ribs.The most unsettling part was the warbling sound, because he couldn’t hear it exactly. It was more like it was coming from inside his head and he got the mildly terrifying feeling that he’d still be able to hear it if he turned off his hearing aids. 

“Pretty much,” Amalia nodded.

“Welcome back to Westchester,” Val snickered.

Val was the stranger, a guy even smaller and scrawnier than Wind, with short hair dyed the cyan of the portal and blue eyes that made Magnus’s skin crawl if he looked into them for too long. Magnus had no idea what it was but there was something just slightly off about the guy that made him want to squirm. Maybe it was the baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire he held in one hand and rested casually on his shoulder.

“Does he have to be here?” Magnus asked Amalia, but Val spoke before she could answer.

“No offense, but I don’t give a shit who you are,” Val shrugged and put his hand in his pockets, the other tightening just slightly around his baseball bat. “I don’t know you and I sure as hell don’t trust you. Only reason you’re even in here is because Amalia vouched for you and I do trust her. But I’m not leaving you here without watching you.”

“Great,” Magnus muttered. “Am I clear to approach your highness?”

“Haha,” Val rolled his eyes. “Just don’t try anything.”

“Trust me I really don’t want to.”

Val lingered by the entrance to the cave while Magnus and Amalia slowly approached the breach. Now joining the warbling sound was a chorus of strange whispers that Magnus liked even less. This thing had really been here for centuries? How had Magnus never noticed? He lived in this town for 18 years! His parents died in this town, his foster home had been right on the edge of the woods, he’d spent weeks in a hospital only a few hours away. Apparently his old high school had been attacked by monsters! He’d gone camping in these woods! 

The thing in front of him took his family. His entire family other than him and his sister had been wiped out, torn apart by unholy creatures. He didn’t care much, having always resented them for refusing to take him and his sister in. If they had, he never would have ended up separated from Vivian and he never would have ended up with Lily. But so many of them had been kids who had never done anything to him. Including Osiris.

But then they’d come back? Or, something that thought it was Osiris came back? Magnus could not understand that part. He wasn’t sure he wanted to either, especially seeing as his bloodline apparently has a strong connection to it. He’d needed to see it all, just once, to process and accept this part of his family and his reality. But then he was going to go right back to New York.

“They’re really in there?” Magnus asked.

“Yeah,” Amalia answered. The pain in her eyes was so raw in the cyan light as she wrapped her arms around herself. Magnus made a mental note to text Wind on the flight back and give her a heads up that Amalia would be upset. They could comfort her way more than Magnus could. “Sometimes they’re able to gather enough strength to visit for a few hours now. It used to be that we couldn't see them at all and they’d just do things like make constellations and make flowers bloom and send breezes.”

“My cousin is literally energy,” Magnus shook his head. “My dorky little cousin who cared more about that damn beanie Vivian gave them than whether or not they graduated high school, is basically a god.”

That’s…..rude………..not a……….dork……..

“What the hell?!” Magnus jumped back, almost stumbling on his own feet. 

“Did you hear something?” Amalia asked with wide and worried eyes.

“You didn’t?!”

“The bastard was right,” Val scoffed. “You do have it in your bloodline.”

“No way, I am not dealing with Power blood,” Magnus shook his head. “This is crazy.”

“You’re dealing with this way worse than I did, and I punched somebody.”

Magnus whirled around to face the new voice and spotted them leaning against the cave wall, fluffy hair just peeking out from that damn beanie, and wearing a brown leather jacket over a maroon shirt that matched the beanieTheir eyes were an inhuman cyan that reflected the light of the breach in a way different from Amalia and Val, making their eyes look like they were glowing. Magnus didn’t recognize them like this, but it wasn’t hard to guess.

“Osiris?” Magnus checked and the new person nodded. “Shit. Amalia are you-”

His voice cut off when he looked to the side and saw Amalia frozen and still staring at him, Val too.

“I am regretting this trip so much,” Magnus muttered. “Tell me you did that and I don’t have to fight some magic monster.”

‘It was me,’ Osiris snickered, thankfully signing as he talked. ‘Surprised you’re here. When I saw you and realized you could hear the wisps I figured I should probably talk to you alone. I’ll see Amalia next time she comes by. But you, coming back home instead of sticking with your fancy lawyer job?’

‘You know I’m a lawyer?’ Magnus signed, not bothering with speaking if he didn’t have to.

Osiris shrugged. ‘The senator thing was national news. Happened to catch it.’

‘I have to ask,’ Magnus’s signs were a little hesitant as he tried to figure out how to ask a question like this in sign. ‘Are you really Si? Lia said you have their memories but think like them.’

‘Technically no,’ Osiris admitted. ‘The original Si died in the attack. They’ve moved on now. But I’m also them while also being my own person. I still remember you. I still like you and I missed you.’

‘Why didn’t you contact me or Vi after the attack?’ Magnus wondered. ‘We would have helped.’

‘I couldn’t have gone to New York,’ Osiris shook their head. ‘And I didn’t want to ask you guys to bounce around the West Coast hunting monsters with me.’  

‘We still could have helped,’ Magnus protested. ‘You were just a kid. We could have sent money or something. We could have been in contact so you weren’t alone.’

‘I wasn’t alone. I had Lia and Horus,’ Osiris replied. ‘Look, it happened, it’s over. No point in beating yourself up about it now. Is that why you’re here? Don’t tell me you got fired.’

‘I did, actually,’ Magnus chuckled. ‘But not from this job. When Lia figured out we were cousins she told me everything. A lot of things were happening at work at the time so I couldn’t do much about it but now that things are settled I just had to see.’ 

‘The fact you could hear me from outside the breach means you definitely got the Power in your blood,’ Osiris told him. Though instead of signing the normal sign for the concept of power they preceded it quickly with the sign for ‘within’ so the two were back to back. ‘So if you really want nothing to do with this, run. Now. Leave and don’t ever come back. That tugging feeling trying to pull you into the breach will never stop and once you let the Power in it doesn’t let go.’

‘Aren’t you the Power?’

‘Yes. Also no.’

‘Does any of this shit make sense?’

‘Not to humans.’

‘Great.’

Osiris snickered and Magnus couldn’t help smiling a little bit. This wasn’t his baby cousin. Technically they’d never even met. There were all these little things slightly off about them that revealed they weren’t just not Magnus’s cousin, but not even human. And they were old. 

But they still had that damn beanie, the stitching fraying in places from constant wear and distress. They still had that crooked smile their dad and Magnus’s mom had, which they both inherited from their mom. They still tilted their head as they thought about how to say something in sign and they still flexed their knuckles while they waited for Magnus to reply. It wasn’t at all his cousin. And somehow they were still his cousin. And after how their family had abandoned Magnus and Vivian…Magnus just couldn’t find it in themself to do the same to Osiris.

‘I’ll try to visit when I can,’ Magnus told them. Osiris may not be very expressive and they may have warned him to stay away, but Magnus still caught how their eyes lit up a little. ‘My boyfriend lives in California, maybe I can visit when I see him.’

‘Damn, you got someone to date you?’ Osiris snickered and Magnus gave them a one-finger sign anyone could understand. ‘Are you sure? I don’t want you to get trapped in this.’

‘Apparently I’m already in it,’ Magnus shrugged. ‘Or at least my blood is. Besides, even if you aren’t technically my Si, you deserve your family too.’

Osiris blinked at him for a moment, looking the most confused they had since they’d shown up in the cave. Then they hauled Magnus forward into their arms and Magnus chuckled as he embraced them. He was committed now. And he intended to keep his word.

So, he did. 

Over the next few months, Magnus tried to engage with Osiris’s “life” as much as he could without fully committing himself to the Power. He got the full story instead of just the summary from Amalia. He even met more of Osiris’s friends. Him and Jocelyn got along well, and he met Lincoln when they coincidentally happened to choose the same weekend to visit, Magnus visiting Osiris and Lincoln visiting both Osiris and Val who was apparently his brother? Val said it was a long story and Mags dropped it. He knew a thing or two about long stories. Along with Lincoln came Horus, who Magnus very vaguely remembered being friends with Si when the two were younger, same with Amalia. The three had basically been joined at the hip.

Lincoln also gave him the number of someone named Abel, who was apparently Osiris’s boyfriend. According to Lincoln, he’d heard about Magnus through the grapevine and wanted to meet him. So the next time Magnus was in California he took the time to head further north and meet up with Abel. The two ended up deciding to keep in touch and often ended up visiting Osiris at the same time. Overall, things seemed to be going okay.

Until, just like Osiris had warned, the Power caught up to him.

"We should do something," Lightning insists, "not with everyone, but the eight of us going to Cade and Vivian's for the weekend." Drift is uncertain about this idea, but he agrees. The three agree not to go crazy with gifts. Lightning tells Lily and the terror twins and then to tell Optimus. The four Autobots have the weekend off, so this trip should be fine. "You could have told her no," Crosshairs comments. "I know. Jamie likes when we go to Cade and Vivian's, but she doesn't like celebrating her birthday. So I don't know if this is a good idea even if this will be smaller than staying here and celebrating with everyone." "Everyone understands. I don't think it'll be bad." "I know, but with how her mental health has been lately. Letting Jamie avoid friends isn't good, but I don't know if being around friends will help."

The two don't know Jamie sits in the dark on the floor in their shared bedroom. Her mind is thinking self-depicting thoughts. You are useless. You aren't a soldier. You're pathetic. You have alien soldiers babysitting you. You should be dead. Before Jamie can move to find a way to kill herself, Crosshairs and Drift walk into the room. Both immediately know something is wrong. Both worry as Jamie cries as soon as Drift hugs her. The difficulty getting Jamie to calm down adds to their concern. Getting her to talk has always been difficult. The two mechs say nothing to each other but agree not to get Jamie to talk.

"So?" Crosshairs asks once Jamie is asleep. "I fear her mind is thinking dark thoughts again, a-and…" A tear escapes Drift's eye. "Forget the plan then." "N-no. This is good for Jamie." "You sure?" Drift nods, but Crosshairs isn't convinced. He'd rather not argue, "all right, I'm going out." Crosshairs would tell Drift where he's going, but Drift isn't going to ask questions.

Before leaving the base, Crosshairs finds Lightning and the twins to talk to. "Scrap and he thinks this is still a good idea?" Lightning asks. "I'm concerned that Drift is making himself like this idea, but Jamie likes it when we go to one of the houses. He could be right. We all know to be careful and do Cade, Cogman, and Vivian. Also, Hot Rod if he's there. I came to tell you three and see if you had gift ideas. I'm going out while Jamie is asleep." "I think we should keep it simple," Lightning advises. Once the four come up with an idea. Crosshairs goes to the store as planned. He will let the other three know how much they owe him. The others are worried about the trip as if it's the first time.
