Edit: This post is directed at people who also use Twitter/X or any other social media platform that Lego has a presence on, if you are not one of those people feel free to ignore this post (and leave me alone, please)

I haven't been in the LMK fandom for a hot minute, but holy SHIT you guys NEED to calm down about the animation team changing. It's literally fine. The animation quality is fine. It Is Fine. It changed SLIGHTLY. When I first heard about the animation being shitty, I thought "Oh man, it must've been really bad for people to be so upset over this." And then I actually watched the trailer. What the fuck, guys.

As far as I could tell, the animation quality was largely the same, just with a few minor differences in style that in the grand scheme of things, aren't that noticeable. It's just Different.

There is no reason to be throwing a hissy fit over Flying Bark having to hand LMK over to a different team because they couldn't keep up with the deadlines. None. Literally not a single one. Do y'all have any idea how lucky it is that all that happened was the animation style changed a little bit? If things behind the scenes had gone even a little differently, the show would've been cancelled in its entirety. (Not to mention we could be seeing the UNFINISHED PRODUCT. CALM. DOWN. And even if we aren't y'all STILL need to CALM. THE HELL. DOWN.)

And as far as I can tell, the story and writing itself seems perfectly fine as well, the ANIMATION TEAM changing has NO EFFECT on the WRITER'S TEAM.

Would you prefer the animation to have changed a little bit with the same quality of writing, or would you prefer the animation stay the same and the writing to go down the drain? Because I've seen that happen before. I lived through VLD. It's a lot fucking worse.

Seriously, I'm not joking. At All. If you make a big enough stink about LMK's style changing just a TINY BIT, sure, they COULD change it, but for a show that is relatively unpopular, barely has a foothold on any LEGAL streaming services and is hanging on to life by the SKIN of its TEETH, has only ELEVEN MINUTES PER EPISODE INCLUDING CREDITS, something a LOT worse is more likely to happen.

With the rate shows get cancelled these days, if people jump ship or complain too much over A TINY DIFFERENCE IN ANIMATION, the show could be cancelled.

Also, I get you're upset and sad to see Flying Bark go, and maybe that's where your anger is coming from, but please keep those thoughts to yourself or in private spaces. If you get too loud about disliking the show in ANY capacity, the entire thing gets nuked.

And if you're still planning on complaining publicly about it...

GET OVER YOURSELF.

IN THE GRAND SCHEME OF THINGS, IT'S A CARTOON. CHECK YOUR GODDAMN PRIVILEGE, IT IS THE TINIEST OF ANIMATION CHANGES, KINDLY SHUT UP AND DIRECT THAT ANGER AT SOMETHING USEFUL.

do u think the netflix twitter acc using the k/ance hashtag could be queerbaiting?

Despite the copium made up of "I heard a rumour"s that I imagine still exists in KL circle(jerk)s, Klance was never, ever, meant to be canon. The idea literally didn't occur to the showrunners until the ship blew up and by that point iirc they were already working on the final seasons. Allurance was hinted at from ep 1 and honestly, Keith/Acxa always felt very clearly like something they kept floating around every season with enough hints that if they wanted to pull the trigger on it in the final act it'd have been easy (if awkward).

But ships made the show popular and klance was absolutely, by a wide margin, the most popular so of COURSE they're gonna use ship hashtags on twitter, on youtube, on whatever platform they're promoting the show so that when ppl search up their uwus they're gonna get whatever the official accounts are promoting. That's not queerbaiting, that's marketing. Now if an official trailer for the show featured only KL moments and had a line where Lance is speaking fondly to Allura but framed as though he's saying it to KEITH, *that* is queerbaiting. There are other things the show did that could def be argued as queerbaiting (none involving lance or his ships in any capacity whatsoever) but I'm not gonna wax poetic about those cuz tbh... I just don't care.

Like, even if this hashtag tweet WAS queerbaiting, so what? Are we really gonna get into it and write callouts for a show that ended, notoriously badly, almost 5 years ago? Why? What cause would that help?

In the kindest way possible, it's time to not think about such things anymore. If you're still in vld fandom having a great time celebrating your fave ship or character, that's fantastic, keep it up. But if you're lingering because you're longing for closure or answers or feeding yourself on the angry emotions this stuff builds up in you, it's time to let go and find something new to be happy about instead of moping about. I hear that Trigun anime is pretty neat.

Do you think the voltron or robotech movie will happen first. My money would be on voltron as that seems to have a bit more info and progress. I won't believe either is happening until a trailer is released.

Good question given both are notorious for their development hells and only in 2022 has some light poked through.

The last word from Harmony Gold concerning the Robotech movie was in October during NYCC. During that convention, Harmony Gold claimed that the script for the movie was done AND Sony signed off on it.

Now I trust Harmony Gold as far as I can throw them and Sony seems more interested in making movies about D-list Spider Man villains like how they Morbed the box office. But technically speaking, a completed script and director is further along with Sony technically than Amazon having a director but no completed script, just the concept of the film. If it was just based on technicalities, I’d say Sony would get the movie out first.

I don’t trust Sony and I damn sure don’t trust Harmony Gold. Furthermore, despite the rumors that Sony ended the Harmony Gold/Big West feud by essentially throwing cash at both sides to force them to play nice and allow the Robotech movie to be, for all intents and purposes, a Macross movie (and split the profits from a hypothetical Robotech movie)

Amazon meanwhile, has an actual motivation to get a Voltron film out sooner rather than later.

$1 billion/year to make Amazon Studios a major player in theatrical releases needs big budget films to back such an endeavor up. And with their biggest completed film being a Roadhouse remake, they need big genre films to make people trek off to the theater. Voltron, judging by the studios fighting each other in a bidding war for it, can be that movie of the cards fall right.

So while I definitely express doubt on either coming out in any reasonable amount of time because of their sordid development histories, I will actually wager Voltron comes our first because there’s motivation from Amazon to get it out first. Sony meanwhile seems content to sit on Robotech in favor of Random D-List Spider Man villains from a comic in 1978 (since Marvel probably called dibs on the good ones) and Harmony Gold gets paid either way so they’re happy. Meanwhile Amazon and WEP want the Voltron movie out ASAP, to give Amazon a big film for their theatrical push, and to get the franchise moved past the disaster that was VLD.
