Digital Zoone - Baterina

Je vous présente Baterina, un personnage que j'ai crée pour une nouvelle série d'illustrations appelée Digital Zoone. Le concept est simple : je choisi un animal (seul ou avec vous), l'humanise et l'habille, le tout dans un style non détouré et légèrement cartoon. Avec quelques infos ou anecdotes à son sujet.

Baterina est inspirée du renard volant des Philippines, l'une des plus grandes espèces de chauve-souris du monde. Aussi appelée "Roussette à couronne dorée" en raison de sa fourrure. Ces frugivores des forêts tropicales se nourrissent principalement d'une variété de fruits et de graines et maintiennent la survie de ces écosystèmes végétaux en les dispersant via leur consommation. L'espèce est malheureusement en voie d'extinction à cause du braconnage et de la déforestation.

Le nom magnifique de l'espèce et son rôle de gardienne menacée de la forêt et de la vie végétale m'ont séduit et m'ont inspiré à la création de ce personnage. Le choix de lui faire porter une tenue de ballet renvoie ainsi à ce côté gracieux et noble et au concept de la collection.
