Friends Forever is probably one of the most heart-warming episodes of the series and would've fitted better as a finale then Toys.
YouTube keeps annoying me thanks to V3, so beware 480p screenshots from a (luckily, widescreen) DVD rip from the 2000s.
It's a new day in LazyTown, and that means a new move for Sportacus. But this day calls for a harder move - pushup twist. He decides to attempt it, and he succeeds!
Tumblr media
I swear, if you cannot guess how he was able to do it- THE CLUE IS IN THE IMAGE!! Well, if you can't, you weird, bruh. Anyways, in the new Sports Park, Stephanie is finishing off her painting of the sign. She yells for her friends to check it out.
Tumblr media
She tells them what it is, all the kids are literally standing right in front of it and yet Pixel still needs his binoculars. But, it's reasonable as he's actually looking at all the games. Ziggy questions her setting up the field, and she says she did, of course, since they're friends forever. They all put their hands together, and on 3 and yell 'FRIENDS FOREVER!' Stephanie decides to show them all the games - Hit the Can.
Tumblr media
Swinging it around like a cowboy, Stephanie gets a score of 50! Ziggy yells out 'This is so cool!', startling Robbie who's having a power nap. So he goes to check out what's happening, and currently, Stephanie is attempting to do the power slammer.
Tumblr media
But it is way too heavy and she is toppling over. And here comes what might be the most epic rescue of season two - Sportacus does a few flippity floppities to the sport park, swings into a cool handstand to LIFT the paint off the wagon, and kicks it back so Stephanie lands safely.
Tumblr media
Sportacus lifts the hammer to see how heavy it was, and it really was heavy. So he decides to give them Sportscandy as they might need it later. Foreshadowing. Stephanie tells Sportacus this is their Sports Park, Stingy says it's his, Pixel says it's THEIRS, and they go back and fourth until Stingy brings out his menacingly deep voice. XD. Jodi is HILARIOUS! Stephanie shows him the Sports Park & one game captivates him most - Hand Walker. He tries it, of course, and he does it! Ziggy is pretty scared. Stephanie explains you go handle to handle with your hands only.
Tumblr media
Once he finishes, Stephanie tells the kids about her idea of a contest and Stingy wants to win without even knowing the prize - which is a ticket to Sportacus' airship. Sportacus leaves after wishing them all good luck. Meanwhile, Robbie is for some reason blowing a blue balloon (again, for some reason), when he overhears Trixie wanting to go to the Sportship and questioning who'd want that.
Tumblr media
Midway through - he gets an idea to go out there and let ALL the air out and he does a slightly useless demonstration with the balloon that sends it flying. It's disguise time and he disguises himself as a daredevil. The kids perform 'New Games Everyday'. At the end of the songs, the kids say they're having so much fun and nothing could be better then this. Here comes Robbie with his shaky cup.
Tumblr media
Like with Stephanie, there's a contest - but this time is for whoever stays in the longest. Who does so gets a ticket to Sportacus' airship. Steph says she has one like that (but yours is REAL! Look at his excessively purple card.), and Robbie says he has ten. The kids get in the shaking cup, Stephanie asks 'Friends Forever??' but she is ignored.
Tumblr media
She decides to sit on a bench. Sadly. And she takes off the photo of her and her friends. Meanwhile, Sportacus has left his ladder out, meaning Robbie can easily enter the airship. He throws away the fake tickets and keeps the real one, which I dislike, since there is no explanation for how he obtained it. Anyways, he climbs the ladder to the airship, and Sportacus flips over to him.
Tumblr media
He asks who he is, and Robbie replies with 'a lucky winner'. He was reasonably expecting one of the kids, and Robbie shows him the ticket for proof. Now Sportacus is happy to have him. Robbie asks for soda, and he pulls out WATER.
Tumblr media
Even funnier when Robbie literally gags, implying he has never drank water before and enjoyed it, meaning he doesn't drink it 99% of the time, but you need water to live.. Anyways, he asks for chocolate, and Sportacus pulls out an APPLE.
Tumblr media
So he has the most healthy things you could ever consume. He even takes a tiny sip of water to be nice. Not very rotten in my eyes! Robbie asks him how he keeps the airship.. well.. in the air, and he pumps it up with air by jumping on this cool thing.
Tumblr media
I thought it was one of the greatest parts of his airship when I was younger for some reasons - it's bouncy and he flips off it. Then he asks how he lets the air OUT - by pulling a lever.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile in the shaking cup, the kids are getting dizzy and Stingy is upside down (LOL), and Stephanie is reluctant to save the kids - but she remembers their promise - FRIENDS FOREVER! Pixel tells her to turn it off by using the lever, but it falls off! In the airship, Robbie asks if there is anyone to save. Sportacus says the citizens of LazyTown are all safe, and they go back and forth and stay awkwardly and the crystal beeps & Robbie says 'YES' when Sportacus says someone is in trouble. LOL.
Tumblr media
So he leaves Robbie to go look at the kids with the telescope. He leaves Robbie. Alone. In the airship. Unsupervised. Where he could easily release air from the airship.
Tumblr media
Sportacus falls but he grabs on to something. Robbie decides to jump for it but the parachute doesn't work like it should've and he's just stuck hanging there. Literally.
Tumblr media
Lolz. Meanwhile, Stephanie is rescuing the kids in a super duper cool way - using the HAND WALKER! She gets all the kids out one by one, telling them to grab her legs.
Tumblr media
Sportacus loses grip of his telescope, and the kids notice it drop and they see Robbie and Sportacus in the air. They devise a cool plan to save him - Ziggy swings the can hitter and Sportacus grabs it, tying it to the airship door. Even more daring then Robbie, he JUMPS OFF whatever he was holding onto and tries to enter the airship by climbing the rope.
Tumblr media
But one side of it unties, and Sportacus is left dangling in the air. Swinging from the left (take it back, now y'all, one hop this time, right foot, let's stomp..) to the right!
Tumblr media
He attempts to climb up but is not nearly as strong to. Stephanie remembers that Sportacus gave her some spare Sports Candy. They devise a plan to get it to him by using the Power Slammer - they put it on the lower side of the thing you're supposed to hit. Stephanie hits it as hard as she possibly can, and it flies in the air and Sportacus swiftly catches it and bites it ONCE.
Tumblr media
And whatcha know, he's strong enough to climb up the rope and Enter The Airship (the greatest Magnus Scheving movie of them all..). The airship is gonna crash as the air supply is becoming lower and lower, and luckily Sportacus jumps into the airship and he cranks the lever as hard as he can.
Tumblr media
Robbie is sooo clooosee to getting the pole in the town hall stuck up his posterior, but luckily, he has cranked the lever enough and it doesn't crash. So it goes back to being an airship, he jumps on the bubble a few times. He then drives the airship back in the air.
Tumblr media
Robbie's glad he made it out safe and happy - but not for long! The useless parachute has ripped off the door, and he falls thousands of feet.. and lands in the shaking cup. How realistic.
Tumblr media
Sportacus attempts to tip Robbie out of the shaking cup but it is way too shaky, so he grabs the lever and fixes it. It is finally revealed it's Robbie, and he fibs about the shaking cup being fun. So Stephanie shakes it a bit more.
Tumblr media
Sportacus thanks the kids for saving him, they do the 'shout-123' thingy and perform Bing Bang! During the song, in an attempt to go back to the lair, Robbie gets stuck to the ceiling.
Tumblr media
Cheap parachute.
10/10 - Moral: Never turn back on your friends. Amazing rescues too.

AU where Syverson becomes a dog trainer
Word Count: 1091
Warnings: smut of the cerebral and physical variety; kissing, oral (f and m receiving), fingering, cuddling, idk it’s been so long I don’t know how to do this anymore; you tell me
I don’t own Captain Syverson or Sandcastle but I do own these words and I do not give any permission to copy or repost them. I would absolutely love it if you liked or commented or reblogged. Stuff of life right there.
Written in a mid-week wine haze and completely un-beta’d. So I own the mistakes, too, is what I’m saying. But you can be me for a while if you want.
Sometimes when I'm walking my crazy-ass rescue pit in the woods, I imagine coming across dog trainer!Sy and Aika.
Aika is off-leash, which of course she is; Sy trusts her recall unconditionally.
When he hears my panicked calls for Ginger to return and stop straining against the lead, Sy immediately clasps a leash on the heavy D-ring of the neon green collar around the German Shepherd's neck.
Tumblr media
He stands patient and calm about 10 yards away while I spew profuse apologies in his direction and gentle curses at my dog.
"She's a rescue. I'm so sorry. She really doesn't like other dogs. Ginger, sit!"
"She's a spitfire for sure, but she wants to say hi. She just needs to learn some manners."
When I tell him I've been watching training videos on Instagram, he can barely contain the smirk that forms beneath his rugged beard as he drops his head to the side and gives a slow shake.
He takes note once I finally have G under some semblance of control and asks if I've tried an in-person trainer yet.
I tell him I hadn't yet; that I'd adopted a rescue before who had a much easier disposition and I hadn't thought I would have so much trouble with a second one; that it'd only been a month and I was honestly regretting the decision to adopt again.
He pulls a small white card out of the pocket of his tan camo cargo pants and lets me know he's gonna just drop it on this tree stump here and back away with Aika in the opposite direction.
He tells me his name and says maybe the girls can meet again someday and I notice his biceps flex in his maybe just too small tee as he tugs Aika’s leash.
When he goes, I wipe the sweat of frustration off my face and pick up the card from the stump.
I see the nickname he failed to mention underneath the name K9 Tactics and see he's a certified trainer and I just want to die from embarrassment because this guy with the close shaved head and beefy thighs apparent in his pants is hot as all fuck and there is no way in hell I would ever summon enough courage to put my shortcomings on further display in front of him for any length of time ever again.
But I hear him holler back "Don't overthink it. First session's free. She’s got promise!"
And, like, imagine my surprise when he admits day one while we're walking G down the path near my apartment that I'm technically his first client since he made the choice to start this side gig after retiring from the Special Forces.
He's managed to calm her down after their frenetic meeting and hooked her up to the most convoluted convertible leash I'd ever seen.
We were stopping every so often while he waited for her to step back from her pulling before we moved forward and he praised her with a happy Yes every time she did.
I had a hard time concentrating on everything Sy said while I tried to wish the ache of those yesses away, but I did catch that he was finishing up a few business courses before stepping into an executive position at a new protection company forming in the area.
By the time Ginger was able to heel without hesitation, Sy had already asked me out on two dates and kissed me so passionately at the end of the second after walking me to my door that I was left reeling when he stepped back and I could not fathom for the life of me how I let him go home that night.
We waited until the girls met, G circling in and out trying so hard to approach Aika calmly and say hello, before we ended the night in bed together.
It was messy and hesitant and a little uncomfortable until we both laughed and admitted we were just thinking it might be better to kennel the girls in separate rooms for the night so they don't trip out that the bedroom door is closed for the first time in forever and destroy the living room while Sy was destroying me.
He pounced immediately upon entering the room after securing G and Aika, tossing me to the bed and diving right between the sprawl of my legs.
I practically melted into mush when he raised his eyes to me and mouthed a silent "okay?" and it didn’t take long after he latched his lips around my cunt and dug his tongue deep and pressed it into my clit with such fervor for me to come crying out his name.
Through my blissful haze, I caught him swipe a paw across his beard before he crawled up over me and dipped his head to catch my lip between his teeth before sucking a kiss and tipping his tongue into my mouth.
“Was that okay?”

Wake Up Call
Word Count: 2463
Warnings: mild feelings of despair, comforting Sy, gentleman Sy, Sy’s liberal use of ‘baby’ and ‘sugar’ (but is that even a warning anymore? don’t we just expect it?), more smut,  oral (both f and m receiving), fingering, cowgirl, missionary, doggy style, generous lube use (it’s a plot point, but IYKYK). Please let me know if I missed anything for you.
A/N: I couldn’t get dog trainer!Sy out of my head, so I moved you in with him and got straight to the sex. Ginger still has some behavior issues.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Captain Syverson or Sand Castle, but I do own these words, so please do not copy or repost as your own. Likes, Comments, and Reblogs are amazing.
You shut the door hard and sink to the floor as soon as you wrangle Ginger inside the house. Aika pads in from her spot in the living room and gives a quick hello sniff to G then turns her attention to you.
Her gentle nudges and G’s face licks and wiggly butt can't stem the hot tears of frustration beginning to stream down your face as you replay the scene over and over.
"That dog needs to be put down," the old lady hissed as she passed you on the path.
She'd stared straight at Ginger as you were trying to put her in place, but you couldn't collect your dog's attention before the woman made direct eye contact with her. Ginger went a little nuts, but you held fast to her lead, trying to back away slowly with a firm pull, no tugging or yanking. Just like Sy taught you.
"Sugar, back so soon?" Sy calls from the kitchen. "Dinner's almost ... baby, what happened?"
Sy drops to his knees on the ground next to you, touching your shoulder gently. You know what he's looking for as you feel his eyes sweep over you, even with your head hanging low.
"I'm fine. Nothing's broken," you sniff. "Just some mean old lady on the path."
"Someone say sumthin'?"
"She said I need to put Ginger down just 'cuz she growled at her. Didn't even lunge, Sy. I was so proud of her for a hot second but I didn't grab her attention fast enough and then the lady.."
"Fuck. That's Betty. She's a real piece a work. Dontchu listen to a thing she says. Woman's got a real hard-on for anything bigger’n a teacup." Sy unhooks G from her lead and gives her a good pat. "She don't even like Aika. Can you believe that?"
Sy sends Aika off and turns to sit next to you, wrapping his arm around your shoulder and drawing you close.
"Come on, don't even spend another thought on it. You're doing great with Ginger. And there's probably gonna be some bad days. Happens to the best of 'em."
"Not Aika," you sniff again. "She's the perfect dog. Never goes nuts in public..."
Sy interrupts your self-pity party. "Baby, no need to compare. Ginger is her own dog. And she's got a different history you're trying to overcome."
"But.."
"No buts. 'Cept maybe this one," he smirks as he slides his hand down your back and under your seat, giving it a soft squeeze. "Now come on. We got one night before your trip and I made your favorite meal. Lemme wine and dine you outta this funk."
You lean closer to him, if that's even possible, amazed at the way this gruff, scruffy man can say the softest things to ease your troubled mind. He never makes you feel a fool for the way you handle your shit, especially with Ginger. He just waits for you to ask for help unless he sees a danger, and even then he's so respectful as he passes on advice. He never tells you what to do.
"I need a shower. Do I have time?"
"Can you make it a quick one? I think the timer's gonna go off in about 10."
You nod and let him help you up, relaxing into the bear hug he pulls you into. He kisses the top of your head, then gives your ass another squeeze and a pat.
"Now git. And put on something comfy," he smiles as you head down the hall.
You’re dressed and at the table in 15, foregoing a hair wash in favor of picking out something a little less comfortable. It is your last night with Sy for a bit, after all. The quick, steamy shower helped release the last bit of tension left after Sy calmed you down, and now you really want to make the most of the evening.
“Woman, did you just want to skip dinner altogether?” Sy exclaims, as you set yourself down at the table, meal already served on the plate in your space.
“What? Does this not meet the dress code for this restaurant?” you smirk back at him, smoothing your hands over the lacy camisole set you picked out. “You certainly seem a little overdressed.”
Sy scoots out his chair, stands, and tosses his napkin on the table. “That’s it. I’m sure glad to see you’re feeling good already. Let’s see how much better I can make it.”

An ongoing list of the recent “Tumblr Men”:
- the legendary pirate Blackbeard (1680-1718)
- the first man to ever have to come out as straight
- Jonathan Harker from Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel Dracula
Next I predict we’ll be obsessing over Jonas Salk, inventor of the polio vaccine.

Week-16
Tumblr media
Wed 14th Aug, 6:15pm: Golden Hill XI vs T20 XI Shine Sports Ground Sat 17th Aug, 1pm: Stapleton CC vs 1st XI Stapleton Cricket Club Sat 17th Aug, 1pm: 2nd XI vs Barrow Gurney Abbots Leigh Cricket Club
As we enter Week 16 of this gripping 18-week season, the pressure is on for our teams. With just three matches remaining, every point is crucial, and the coming fixtures will play a pivotal role in shaping our final standings.
Midweek League Fixture - T20 XI
On Wed 14th Aug, our T20 XI face Golden Hill XI at the Shine Sports Ground with a 6:15pm start. This is the final T20 League fixture of the summer, and a win here will secure a solid 2nd place in the group—a commendable position that reflects the team’s consistent performance throughout the season. The players will be keen to cap off their T20 campaign with a strong finish, and all eyes will be on the pitch as they strive to secure victory.
1st XI vs Stapleton CC
The 1st XI, led by Jonny Weber, will travel to the historic Stapleton CC on Sat 17th Aug for a 1pm start. With Stapleton just two points behind us in the league, this match holds significant importance. A win would not only put some distance between us and our rivals but also help us climb from our current 8th place in the standings.
Last weekend’s performance against Carsons & Mangotsfield CC was a tough pill to swallow. Despite bowling out the opposition for 141, the 1st XI faltered with the bat, collapsing to 74 all out. However, there were positives to take from the match, particularly in the bowling department. Giaco Bridgett (3 for 30), Syed Ali Eazaz (3 for 29), and Otis Hillenbrand (3 for 5) all delivered impressive spells, with Hillenbrand finishing off the tail. Scott Walker was outstanding in the field, taking three sharp catches. The team will need to regroup and bring their best to Stapleton, where a victory could reignite their season.
2nd XI vs Barrow Gurney
On the same day, Sat 17th Aug, Mike Dean’s 2nd XI will host the league leaders, Barrow Gurney, at Abbots Leigh Cricket Club, with a 1pm start. The 2nd XI are riding high after a dominant performance at Nailsea last weekend, where they chased down a challenging target of 218 with eight wickets in hand and seven overs to spare.
The chase was anchored by Pete Nannini’s unbeaten 78 and Basit Ali’s 68, who both batted with flair and determination. Their partnership laid the foundation for victory, and Ben Mackenzie (22) and Mike Ware (11 not out) applied the finishing touches with some fine shot-making. The bowling attack, led by Darren Weeks, who claimed 1 for 18 whilst demonstrating experience and control, was equally impressive in restricting Nailsea after a blistering start. A win this weekend would not only continue the 2nd XI’s momentum but also disrupt Barrow Gurney’s title ambitions—a prospect that should inspire the team to give their all.
Final Reminders and Appreciation
We kindly remind all players to update their availability on Pitchero as soon as possible. This simple yet vital task ensures that our teams are well-prepared and can field strong sides during this crucial phase of the season.
Lastly, a heartfelt thank you to our volunteers and everyone working tirelessly behind the scenes. Your dedication and hard work are the lifeblood of our club, and we are immensely grateful for all that you do.
Let’s make Week 16 a memorable one for all the right reasons!

The Savage Detectives by Roberto Bolaño, translated by Natasha Wimmer
Tumblr media
Mrs. Nodier said all poets were bums but they weren't bad in bed. Especially if they don't have any money, she went on. (p. 91)
***
And it did me no good to think of my father shut up in the asylum, suicidally depressed, or my mother brandishing the threat or refrain of the police like a UNAM cheerleader (which she actually had been in her student days, poor Mom), because suddenly I began to wither too, to fall apart, to think (or rather repeat to myself, like a tom-tom) that nothing had any meaning, that I could sit at that table at Café Quito until the end of the world (when I was in high school we had a teacher who claimed to know exactly what he would do if World War III broke out: go back to his hometown, because nothing ever happened there, probably a joke, I don't know, but in a way he was right, when the whole civilized world disappears Mexico will keep existing, when the planet vaporizes or disintegrates, Mexico will still be Mexico) or until Ulises, Arturo, and the stranger in white got up and left. (pp. 171-72)
***
He was a strange person. He wrote in the margins of books. I'm glad I never lent him any of mine. Why? Because I don't like people to write in my books. You won't believe this, but he used to shower with a book. I swear. He read in the shower. How do I know? Easy. Almost all his books were wet. At first I thought it was the rain. Ulises was a big walker. He hardly ever took the metro. He walked back and forth across Paris and when it rained he got soaked because he never stopped to wait for it to clear up. So his books, at least the ones he read most often, were always a little warped, sort of stiff, and I thought it was from the rain. But one day I noticed that he went into the bathroom with a dry book and when he came out the book was wet. That day my curiosity got the better of me. I went up to him and pulled the book away from him. Not only was the cover wet, some of the pages were too, and so were the notes in the margins, some maybe even written under the spray, the water making the ink run, and then I said, for God's sake, I can't believe it, you read in the shower! have you gone crazy? and he said he couldn't help it but at least he only read poetry (and I didn't understand why he said he only read poetry, not at the time, but now I do: he meant that he only read two or three pages, not a whole book), and then I started to laugh, I threw myself on the sofa, writhing in laughter, and he started to laugh too, both of us laughed for I don't know how long. (pp. 218-19)
***
They're poets, I argued. The math teacher looked me in the eyes and repeated the word poet several times. Lazy slobs is what they are, he said, and bad parents. Who goes out to eat and leaves their child alone at home? (p. 297)
***
Then, humbled and confused and in a burst of utter Mexicanness, I knew that we were ruled by fate and that we would all drown in the storm, and I knew that only the cleverest, myself certainly not included, would stay afloat much longer. (p. 360)
***
Then Norman laughed again and said: Ulises was crying because he knew that nothing was over, because he knew he would have to come back to Israel again. The eternal return? Fuck the eternal return! Here and now! But Claudia doesn't live in Israel anymore, I said. Wherever Claudia lives is Israel, said Norman, no matter what fucking place it is, call it whatever you want, Mexico, Israel, France, the United States, planet Earth. Let me see if I understand you, I said, Ulises knew that things were going to end between you and Claudia? And then he could try again? You haven't understood anything! said Norman. I have nothing to do with any of this. Claudia has nothing to do with it. Sometimes even that bastard Ulises has nothing to do with it. The tears are all that count. I guess you're right, I don't understand you, I said. (pp. 428-29)

               Injury Roundup from Week 6
By: Benjamin Munguia
           Date: October 17, 2023
Tumblr media
Bears quarterback Justin Fields suffered a dislocated thumb in Sunday’s lose against the Minnesota Vikings. He’s listed as doubtful for Sunday’s contest vs the Raiders.
On Monday, head coach Matt Eberflus did not have a timetable on Field’s return, but stated that  "It’s really going to come down to grip strength."
Fields completed 6 of his 10 pass attempts for 58 yards and one interception before getting hurt in the third quarter. In the last two weeks, Fields had explosive weeks, throwing for eight touchdowns and one interception.
Rookie quarterback Tyson Bagnet will mostly likely get the start on Sunday. Bagnet went undrafted out of a division II school, Shepherd University. He beat PJ Walker and Nathaniel Peterman for the second string position.
Bagnet came in for Justin Fields on Sunday, completing 10 of his 14 pass attempts for 83 yards. He also had a rushing touchdown that brought the Bears back in the game before throwing an interception in the final two minutes of the game.
Tumblr media
"At his position, that's not an easy thing to deal with," head coach Dan Campell said at a press conference. “but I think there’s a chance we won’t have him for a bit."
Montgomery has been a solid addition to the Lions during the offseason. 384 yards rushing, 6 rushing touchdowns.
Their other running back Jahmyr Gibbs is supposed to suit this Sunday’s contest vs the Ravens after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury.
Tumblr media
49ers lost 3 starts on Sunday’s loss to the Cleveland Browns. Running back Christian McCaffery suffered an oblique injury in the fourth quarter. The team is still waiting on MRI results.
“It’s obviously a tougher position just because you get hit a lot more, but we’ve just got to see how it reacts,”  head coach Mike Shannan said to the press on Monday. “We got to see exactly what’s wrong with it, too, because we haven’t got that back yet. So we say oblique/rib. Hopefully, it’s not both, but we got to wait to see for sure.”
Wide receiver Deebo Samuels and offensive tackle Trent Willams both suffered ankle injuries in Sunday's game. Both are considered “day-to-day.”
Jaguars’ quarterback Trevor Lawrence suffered a knee injury late in the fourth quarter in sunday’s game vs the Colts. He’s day-to-day and it’s unclear if he will play Thursday night vs the Saints
Some injuries were scarier. Bills running back Damien Harris suffered a neck injury, and left the field in an ambulance on Sunday Night’s contest against the Giants. He had movement in both hands and feet. He’s now out of the hospital and resting at home.
Tumblr media
Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was also taken to the hospital with a back injury during Sunday’s game vs the Patriots. He’s still undergoing more testing, but head coach Josh McDaniels stated that Garoppolo "dodged a big bullet"
It’s unclear at this time if he’ll be ready for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears. If not, backup quarterback Brian Hoyer will get the start. Hoyer completed 6 of his 10 passes for 102 yards during Garoppolo’s absence.
Injury bug has been hitting the NFL real hard this season. The Football Database.com says “There is 218 players on IR, currently.”

RED RIPPLE
WF THOUGHTS (12/1/22).
Welcome to December!
Election Day was almost a month ago. With minor exceptions, all of races have been decided. It's a good time to take a final look at the predicted "Red Wave."
For weeks, we've known that there was no Red Wave in the Senate. Before the election, each party held 50 seats. (That gives the Democrats a "majority" because the Vice President breaks tie votes.) In the election, the Democrats won 50 seats and they'll probably win the pending runoff election in Georgia (the infamous Warnock v. Herschel Walker race). So, the Senate Democrats either held their position or they'll gain a seat. That's not a Red Wave.
There are 435 seats in the House. Realistically, there were only about 70 seats that we're up for grabs. If there was a Red Wave, the Republicans would have won at least 50 of those seats. Maybe 60. They only won about about 20 of them. That's not a Red Wave. The Democrats won the lion's share of the contested seats. The Republicans entered the election with 213 seats in the House. As I'll discuss below, they'll probably emerge with 222 seats. Ho-hum.
All across America, there were elections for approximately 6,600 seats in state legislatures. If there was a Red Wave, the Republicans should have added a significant number of seats to their column. On an overall basis, the Republicans only gained 12 seats throughout America. That's not a Red Wave. The Democrats maintained their positions in state legislatures.
It turns out that--all over America--the expected big Red Wave was a tiny Red Ripple.
The only good news for Republicans was that they won enough seats to take control of the House. Believe it or not, two House races still have not been resolved. For majority control in the House, a party needs 218 seats. Right now, the Republicans have 220 seats and the Democrats have 213 seats. Thus, right now the Republicans have a two vote majority. If the Republicans win the two remaining seats--and they probably will--they'll have 222 seats and a four vote majority. That's a very slim majority, but it does give control of the House to the Republicans.
Wouldn't it be nice if we didn't have to hear about elections again until January of 2024? We won't be so lucky. There will be plenty of noise in 2023. Start preparing yourself. I'll keep you in the loop.

New York Times Spreads GOP Feud
LOS ANGELES (OnlineColumnist.com), Nov. 15, 2022.--New York Times continues to grind out fake stories about 76-year-old former President Donald Trump.  Due to announce 9 PM EST at his Palm Beach Mar-a-Lago resort, the Times can’t control itself emphasizing Trump’s feud with 44-year-old Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.  Time writes have been trash Trump for the last seven years when he announced for president in 2015, highlighting his devious businesses practices and more recently playing up the Jan. 6 House Select Committee, essentially blaming Trump for the Jan. 6 Capitol riots.  DeSantis, considered a front-runner for the 2024 GOP campaign, has been slammed by Trump recently, now that he gets closer announcing for president.  Trump has hinted for the last two years that he’d jump back into the 2024 race, saying the country under Biden has gone down the tubes.  Now the Times wants to talk about the Trump-DeSantis feud.
Coming off the Nov. 8 Midterm election, the New York Times and many other liberal and conservative news sources blamed Trump for the poor showing in the U.S. Senate, leaving Democrats in the majority, at least for now at 50-49 seats, with one more seat in Georgia between Sen. Raphael Warnock and Hershel Walker up for grabs in a Dec. 6 runoff.  Whatever happens in Georgia doesn’t change anything, with Democrats already retaining the Senate.  Republicans had high hopes in the 2022 Midterms expecting to take control of the Senate and the House but it didn’t pan out.  Looks like Republicans seized control of the House, with Democrats retaining control of the Senate.  Media’s narrative, largely anti-Trump, tried to pin the so-called poor showing on candidates endorsed by Trump.  Whether Trump’s candidates won or not, it’s unreasonable to blame Trump.
New York Times got DeSantis to say how disappointed he was with the GOP’s performance in the Nov. 8 Mideterm election.  But what the Times and DeSantis didn’t say was the Republican always had low odds of winning the Senate.  With 35 Senate seats up for grabs, Democrats only had 14 the were defending, while Republicans had 21.  So, when it came the GOP’s chances in the Senate, Democrat always had the best odds to  holing on the Upper Chamaber.  When the dust settled, Democrats controlled 50 seats, while Repbulcians 49.  But in the House of Representatives a different story prevailed with Republicans poised to with the majority [218] any day now.  Where’s the New York Times and DeSantis commenting on the remarkable feat of the GOP taking over the House?  If they blame Trump for Democrat control of the Senate, what are they going to say about the GOP taking over the House?
DeSantis, a former Trump backer, now joins the New York Times analysis that Trump must be blamed for the Midterms.  But the Democrat-controlled newspaper knows that Republicans have nearly taken the House.  With the GOP in  2018 and 2020 elections shellacked by Democrats, what can they say now about the GOP taking the House?  DeSantis knows that Trump seeks the presidency again because he felt robbed in the 2020 election, whether factual or not.  Democrats call Trump’s claims to “voter fraud” the “Big Lie,” while never acknowledging that in the Covid-19 global pandemic, state election boards approved universal mail-in ballots.  Democrats knew in 2020 that universal mail-in ballots favored Democrats by over 20%, since they enjoyed a significant registration advantage.  Trump could not reconcile universal mail-ballots to his loss to 80-year-old President Joe Biden.
DeSantis bought right into the Democrat trap, getting him to suggest that the GOP’s poor Midterm performance was somehow due to Trump.  Well, DeSantis has said nothing about the GOP sending House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) into retirement.  Whether DeSantis—or any other candidate—challenges Trump in the 2024 primaries, Republican voters will decide the nominee.  All Democrats and press obsession for the last two years was about keeping Trump from running again in 2024. DeSantis told the Times about his 19% victory in his reelection as governor, appealing to independents and crossover Democrats.  DeSantis took a cheap shot a Trump claiming that he’s got the vast majority of Republicans behind him.  But DeSantis doesn’t have a word to say about the GOP remarkable feat of taking back the House.  For that, Trump gets zero credit, only blame for keeping the Senate the same.
DeSantis needs to stop boasting about his big win and Florida and recognized the impact of the GOP winning the House.  “What Florida showed is that the good policies and the good leadership can reverberate just beyond your little silo of the people that agree with you on everything,” DeSantis said, trying to toot his own horn.  DeSantis is only 44-year-of-age with not  foreign policy experience, something that going to prove essential in 2024.  Biden has brought the country to the brink of WW III, possibly nuclear war, all because of abysmal decision-making.  No one  told him to take on the Russian Federation to defend Ukraine.  Ukraine has zero national security significance to the U.S. But Biden chose to trash U.S.-Russian and U.S.-Chinese relations leaving the U.S. in the most dangerous national security space since WW II.  Another two years of Biden and country could be at war with China.
