The Alexandrian
Daryl Dixon x fem! Reader • Alexandria • Fluff
Tumblr media
Daryl looks around the gated community. It's strange, the houses— mansions, really— that lined the streets looked right out of a catalog or one of those home renovation shows. It was clean and if he couldn't still hear the quiet groaning from some stray walkers, he'd think he was transported back in time.
Rick was cautiously looking at their guide, Aaron, and the leader Deanna. She wanted to interview them. Daryl almost turned and left right there, but then he saw Carl holding Lil' Asskicker, and his feet were planted where he stood.
After they were all interviewed and had given up their weapons, they were given two houses to use. Daryl scoffed at the sight. No way would he get used to this. No way.
As his group began to filter in the house, he gave one last glance around. There was a house not far that was smaller than the rest. It was nice, but looked out of place in the community. He didn't give it too much thought before heading inside.
Everyone was smiling, still nervous and careful, but the hot running water had lifted some spirits. Daryl didn't care much. He instead headed back out to sit on the porch. Everyone was staying in the larger house, so he would take watch. The whole place gave him an uneasy feeling. He felt like the people were giving him odd looks. He didn't belong, and everyone knew it.
It was late at night when Daryl was still outside. The house was too stuffy, he couldn't sleep. Not here. He was fiddling with his crossbow, absentmindedly cleaning it with a rag. It was more to keep his hands busy than anything, he could barely see in the dim glow of the porch light.
He heard a door slam and his eyes shot up. It was from that little house not far. A woman was standing on the porch. She was a little ways away, but Daryl could just barely see that she looked tense. Her head was down so he couldn't see her face, but her hand was rubbing at her temple. When she sat down on the front step, her leg bounced anxiously.
He bit his lip in worry. What did she have to be so anxious about? Maybe this place wasn't safe, maybe they were hiding something. Daryl vaguely knew that the thoughts were slightly paranoid, but he was on edge and hasn't slept in days.
As if she felt eyes on her, her eyes flitted up to find his. Daryl shot his eyes away and instead began to fiddle with his bow again. He hears a door close again and when he chanced a glance back at the woman, she was gone.
Daryl looked at the house. It was large and filled to the brim with both people from Alexandria and his family. He bit his lip in thought. His family seemed adamant in trying to fit in, to try and make it work, but he wasn't so sure. He couldn't fit in here, he wouldn't.
Daryl wasn't a stranger to the sideways looks he got from the people here. The looks of disgust when he brought home animals on a string ready to be cleaned. Or when he was caked in blood and dirt from being outside the walls.
This party Deanna had thrown was something that was supposed to stay in the old world. Not when there are dead people walking around. He saw Rick holding Judith and chatting away with some of the locals through the window. He shoved his hands in his pockets and finally turned away. He couldn't do it.
"Hey!" Daryl looks towards the sound and saw Aaron standing at his front steps.
"Thought you were goin' to that party over there," Daryl says, gesturing loosely in the direction of Deanna's house.
"Oh no, I was never going. Especially with Eric's leg being how it is." Daryl looks at him with furrowed brows.
"Why the hell you tell me to go then?" Daryl says, his tone a little sharp.
"I said to try. You did," Aaron explains with a friendly smile. "Why don't you come in and have dinner with us? We're having spaghetti."
Aaron waves at something behind him and Daryl turns to look. It's that woman he saw the other night. She waves back but looks slightly confused at Daryl's presence. Now that he's closer, he can take in how pretty she is. She looks a little shy, but her eyes sparkle even in the dim lighting. Daryl looks away and back at Aaron, thinking for just a second before taking his invitation.
"So, who is that girl?" Daryl asks during dinner. He couldn't help it. He hasn't seen much of her around the community. He'd be lying is he said he wasn't the least bit interested.
"Oh, that's Y/N," Aaron says. "We brought her in a few weeks ago. She's still... adjusting." Daryl hums in response.
"Just haven't seen her around s'all." Daryl shrugs and slurps another mouthful of spaghetti. Aaron wasn't lying when he said it was good.
"She isn't very social," Eric says. "She's nice enough though. She just keeps to herself."
"We just try to give her space. She contributes to the community a lot, especially with her garden," Aaron finishes. "If you ever need some fresh produce, she's your girl."
It's the next day and Daryl is crouched by some bike parts. Aaron had offered him a position to go out scouting if he can put a bike together with parts he had. Getting out of these confining walls sounded great, so here he was, in Aaron's garage putting a bike together.
He heard footsteps and looked up, seeing Y/N standing outside by the open garage. She gave Daryl a peculiar look, glancing at him in the garage and at the front door. Finally, she walks over to him a little awkwardly.
"Hey, is uhh, Aaron or Eric home?" She asks, quietly. She's holding a little basket with what seems to be some tomatoes.
"Nah, they're at the infirmary." A worried look colored her face so Daryl rushed to explain. "Just checkin' up on Eric's ankle s'all. They're fine."
"Oh, ok, good," she says. Her voice is quiet still, soft spoken. "I just wanted to drop this off." She holds up the basket.
"You could leave it here, I'll make sure to give it to 'em." She nods and lays the basket down near the front of the garage. She gives him a little smile and Daryl's heart thumps. God, she's really pretty.
"Thanks." And with that, she's gone.
Daryl doesn't see her much after that quick interaction. Sometimes, when he can't sleep and he's outside, he sees her sit on her steps like she's lost in thought. Other times, she leaves before the suns come up, going beyond the walls with a gun on one hip and a buck knife on the other. Even bringing back some fresh meat once in a while. Daryl would be lying through his teeth if he said he wasn't curious about her.
She's quiet and reserved. Sometimes he'll spot an Alexandrian going to her house to ask for a fresh tomato or berries. Unlike other residents, shes doesn't chat up a storm. She does what needs to be done and that's it.
Daryl will sit out on the porch some nights and wonder who she is. Aaron said he just found you a few weeks ago, but no other explanation. Where was she before? Had she had a group, or was she alone all this time? The woman could definitely handle herself if she came and went as often as she did.
"Hey, pookie," Carol's voice distracts Daryl from his smoke break. He'd been at Aaron's house nearly all day, and was finally done now that the sun was setting. He hums. "Could you go to Y/N's and grab some green beans? I didn't get enough earlier for my casserole."
Daryl looks at her and scoffs. Carol had slipped into the housewife role since coming to Alexandria, and it makes Daryl annoyed to no end. Mostly because she does it so well, baking cookies and playing Betty Crocker in flowy blouses. Makes him sick.
He hums and nods once, stamping out his cigarette and making his way to your house. He was nervous, he doesn't know you and just rocking up and asking for something felt off. He knows everyone does it, but still.
He knocks once he gets the nerve and wait. After a while and no answer, he feels awkward. Maybe she isn't even here. He's just about to turn and leave before the door opens.
"Hey, Carol just needs some more—" He stops short when he finally looks at the girl. The door is only open a crack, and her face is slightly concealed by shadow, but he can still see faint red marks around her eyes. Her fingers on the door are jittery and she shifts her weight from side to side. "You alright?"
"What did you need?" She doesn't answer his question. Her voice is rough, like she's been crying a while. Gone is the silky softness Daryl had heard the other day. It send a foreign feeling to his chest.
"Just... some green beans but—"
"Ok, give me a second." She turns and leaves, leaving the door open just a little. Daryl feels unbelievably awkward. The poor girl was just crying and now she has to fetch a stranger fucking green beans. She comes back a moment later with a basket of beans.
"Is that enough?" She asks, her face still tear stained but slightly redder, like she had scrubbed at it.
"Yeah, yeah... thanks," Daryl said. He grabbed the basket slowly. "You sure you're alright? I could go get Aaron or somethin'..." Daryl thinks they're close, he's seen her talk a little with him before.
"No, no. He doesn't..." she stops talking and looks anywhere but to Daryl. He waits patiently for her to continue. "I shouldn't bother him."
"You two are friends ain't ya? Sure he won't mind."
"I would," she says quietly, her voice still teary sounding, and she sniffles now and then. "Is that all?"
Daryl nods, still looking a little worried at her. But it isn't his business, so he doesn't stop her when she closes the door. He walks away from her house after casting one last look.
Daryl brings Carol the green beans and she looks at him a little thoughtfully. She tilts her head at him.
"Penny for your thoughts?" She asks, kindly. He shrugs and gives a noncommittal hum.
"She was cryin'..." he finally admits. He felt bad for saying it, he definitely wouldn't want anyone to walk in on him having a moment and tell, but it's Carol. He couldn't not tell her.
"Who?" Carol asks.
"Y/N. Wouldn't say what was wrong though." He shrugs, but still looks a little lost in thought.
"Huh," Carol says. "Maybe you should check on her later then." Daryl furrows his brows at her and gives her a look. "What?"
"I don't know her."
"Well, it'd be good for you to talk to new people. And from what I've seen, she doesn't seem to have many friends either. It'd be nice of you." Daryl thinks for a second before giving Carol another sideways look.
"You sayin' I don't have friends? The hell are you then?" Carol scoffs and laughs at him at the same time. Tilting her head at him.
"We're family. It would be good for you to talk to others. Branch out." She lays a hand on the man's shoulder.
Daryl couldn't stop thinking of the crying girl and what Carol said. He ended up not going to see her again, but he did sit up on his porch casting looks at her house that night. He couldn't get her teary eyes out of his head. That pure sadness in her face. It gave him a pressure in his chest he wasn't fond of.
Eventually he hears Y/N's door snap closes like it always does, and she plants herself down on the steps. She had a mug of something cradled in her hands. It must be hot because Daryl can see steam wafting from it.
He bites his thumb in thought. Maybe he should go over, just make sure she was alright. Like Carol said, you didn't have many friends from what Daryl could tell. She spend most time tending to her garden or outside the walls. The closest he's seen her with anyone was Aaron, and from her reaction earlier, she probably hadn't gone to talk to him.
Finally, Daryl follows the pull in his chest and walks over to her. She spots him right away, and those pretty sparkly eyes of hers nearly make him stop halfway. She looks confused and wary.
"Hey," Daryl starts. She nods, one sharp jut down of her chin. She's still giving him that look, like she's waiting for him to pounce or something. "Just wanted to make sure you're alright... seemed pretty upset earlier."
"I'm ok," she says. She looks down like she's embarrassed. "Sorry you had to see that."
"Nothin' to be sorry 'bout." She gives him a little half smile and it sends a flutter to his stomach. "Well, I best be goin'... just wanted to make sure you were alright."
Daryl backtracks. Maybe she just didn't want to be bothered. He shoves his hands in his pants pockets and turns around only halfway before her voice stop him.
"You could stay," she says. Daryl is surprised, and from her expression when he turns around, so is she. "Unless you don't want to... it is pretty late." She rushes out, tapping anxiously at her mug.
"Nah, I'll stay for a bit." Daryl, despite wanted to turn tail and run, stays. His interest in the mysterious woman outweighs his disbelief that a girl so pretty would want anything to do with him.
He takes a seat next to her on the stoop. They both sit in a awkward silence for a minute. Both just looking out towards the sky.
"You want some tea?" Y/N asks lowly, finally breaking the silence.
"You don't have to—"
"I don't mind." Y/N stands up quickly and goes to fetch the tea. She might just be shyer than Daryl, she seemed to want to run away more than he did. But if Daryl was honest, he found it pretty cute, even endearing.
She comes back a few short minutes later with a second steaming mug. She gives it to him with that same small, kind smile. Daryl could feel his neck flush. He accepts with a mumbled thanks.
"So uh," Daryl starts. "How long you've been here? In Alexandria." She takes a sip of tea and makes a so-so gesture with her hand.
"Maybe a month? Little more. Hard to keep track of time now..." She taps her mug still, must be a nervous tick. Daryl hums and nods an agreement. "I was the last person Aaron and Eric brought in before you guys. Feels nice not to be the newbie anymore." She has a little teasing smile on her face, but her head is still down low and her hair partially covers her face.
"Yeah, I'm not likin' being the newbie much," Daryl says with a scoff.
"Everyone looks at you funny... like they don't trust you, because they know of the things you must've done to survive on your own..." Y/N says. She looks down, lost in her head. Almost like she realizes she's been talking, she glances at Daryl and blushes.
"That why you were cryin' before? Cause of the things you've done?" Daryl regrets having spoken, because she looks close to tears again. Good going Daryl, Jesus Christ. He screws his eyes shut for just a quick second, chastising himself in his head. "Sorry, you don—"
"Yes," she says quickly, finally looking up to meet Daryl's gave. For the first time, he can really see just how beautiful and intense her eyes are. He can see every little speck of color. He feels his cheeks burn under her gaze.
"And the things you've done, are they why you sit outside every night? Don't sleep?" She asks him, not breaking eye contact. He nods, slowly, and Daryl sees something he was positive he'd never see in an Alexandrian's eyes.
Understanding.
Those nightly chats continue nearly every night. Even while they were planning how to get the walkers out of the quarry, no matter what time either of them had gotten up that morning. Even after the wolves terrorize the community, and a huge herd surround the tall walls, they still talk almost every night.
Even Daryl's family knew. Carol and Rick teased him about his nightly outings relentlessly. Especially when you'd go over to drop off their produce, it seemed they knew the quiet woman mostly did it to see Daryl.
Daryl and Y/N didn't see much of each other during the day unless it was dropping off produce. Daryl was always out, hunting, going on runs. Y/N mostly helped around inside, tending to her little garden and now helping Maggie with the large one she was planning in the center of the community.
But on rare occasions like today, Daryl and Y/N were both able to get away and head outside the walls. They were both excellent hunters, so Daryl escaped from the walls with her as often as possible. Which was never enough now that he couldn't get out to look for new people, as Rick had ordered.
"Oh, Daryl!" She called out. Daryl was slightly ahead, but turned back to her at her call.
"What?" She pointed excitedly at a little shrub. Daryl looked curiously from her to the bush. "What about it?"
"It's a huckleberry bush. I can dig it up and plant it back home." Home. It sounded strange to Daryl. The last place he considered home he'd lost in a fiery blaze, but he supposed that is what Alexandria is. Home.
Y/N sank to her knees and dug at the dirt a little before giving a satisfied look towards Daryl.
"It's really small, and not in season yet, but the roots look good. Won't be too long before the berries start popping up." Daryl kneeled next to her and helped her to dig it up. She smiled excitedly at him, and Daryl shyly smiled back. Her smile still made his heart jump, even after seeing it so many times. Y/N isn't so shy with him anymore, even if she's still reserved when it comes to other people.
After fighting with the shrub, they eventually yank it out. Daryl smiled to himself seeing the girl so pleased.
"We should get back soon. I should plant it soon as possible, wouldn't want the roots to dry up," Y/N explains. Daryl nods and suddenly becomes nervous.
"Yeah uh... could I show you somethin' first?" He asks. He's biting his thumb now, and Y/N gives him a skeptical look.
"Yeah, what?" She asks.
"Surprise." She looks at him crooked but nods. "Come on."
Daryl leads her back to his bike. She puts the bush carefully in the saddle bag and they both hop on. The first time they rode together, Daryl had been so nervous he'd almost crashed. Now, riding alone made him miss the warm contact.
It's embarrassing how much he had gotten attached to Y/N. Most days he couldn't wait for night fall so he could finally head to her porch and drink that funky tasting tea, just because it made her happy. If Daryl was honest, he'd do just about anything to make her happy and smiling.
Daryl was never in love before. Of course he's loved people, certainly loved his brother and his family, but he's been never in love. But if Daryl could guess, he's pretty sure it felt like this.
A sharp flick to his ear sent him back to present. He cast a look behind him to the culprit, who was grinning. He forced a dramatic frown at her, but that smile and giggle made his lungs just about stop working.
"Don't go so fast! My bush is rocking around in there," she yelled over the rumble of the bike, patting the saddlebag to emphasize her point.
"Yeah, yeah, you and your damn plants!" He teased, eliciting another giggle and a poke to his side. "Thought we had to be fast to get home so you could plant it?"
"Won't be anything to plant if it's all torn apart by the time we get there!"
Finally, Daryl pulled the bike to a stop. Y/N looked around before looking back at him. She tilted her head and smirked.
"More woods, consider me impressed, Daryl." He shoves her arm lightly and his face flushes.
"Stop."
Daryl leads her further into the woods before suddenly stepping in front of her. She looks confused and he can't help but think her furrowed brows and scrunched nose is adorable.
"Close your eyes." She gives him a scrutinizing look but obliges with a dramatic sigh.
"Better be good, Daryl."
He leads her carefully through the forest. One hand on her arm and another on the small of her back, he leads her slowly over large rocks and overturned logs with care. Daryl gets more nervous the closer they get to their destination. Maybe it was a stupid idea, or she wouldn't like it. Maybe he'd dragged her out here and she wants to go home.
"Alright," Daryl says finally. "Open your eyes."
Y/N opens her eyes slowly, blinking a little at the sudden brightness after having her eyes closed so long. After a second, he smiles brightly, eye flitting around.
It was a clearing in the woods, shaded by surrounding trees and covered in flowers. Large bushes of different colored flowers bordered the clearing, with small patches of wild flowers covering the ground in the center. He'd found it on a solo hunt not long ago, and planned to take her since.
Y/N was surprisingly quiet. Ever since they'd starting talking, she'd opened up to him completely. She hasn't been this quiet since that first time they met, and it made Daryl unbearably anxious.
"So..?" Daryl asks, biting his thumb and looking between the woman and his shoes. He digs his boot in the dirt, scuffing the ground, anxiously awaiting her reply.
"It's..." she starts. Finally, after an agonizing few seconds, she looks at him. She walks up to him and gently takes his thumb from his mouth. He feels heat course through his face but he holds her gaze steadily, and lets her pull away his hand. "It's beautiful."
She turns from him and wanders deeper into the clearing. Daryl follows, almost in a daze. She's never looked so beautiful, smiling and almost giddy with joy, stroking different flowers as she walks past. Daryl is sure his heart is going to give out.
Finally, she lays down right in the center. She laughs and reaches a hand towards Daryl. He steps forward apprehensively, but after catching another look at her jovial face, he hurries to lay next to her.
They lay shoulder to shoulder for a while. Just basking in the light that's filtering through the trees. Y/N absentmindedly plays with a flower between her fingers with her eyes closed.
"I love it," she says lowly, cracking her eyes open to look at Daryl beside her. He smiles.
"Ain't nothin'..." She whacks his hand laying beside her halfheartedly.
"It's not." She leaves her hand right next to his, the contact sending electric shocks up his entire arm. Tentatively, Y/N begins to fold her fingers in his. Daryl looks over to find that she's still looking at him deeply, with that intense gaze Daryl is sure he'll never get used to. He intertwines their fingers, both still staring at each other with flushed cheeks and soft smiles.
Daryl is sure who started what, but soon enough, their lips are touching. It's like a magnetic force, and Daryl can't resist. He touches her cheek softly, and he can feel her smile against him.
Daryl can't get enough, he doesn't ever want to. They push up against each other until they're completely melted together, touching from head to toe. She languidly pushes her fingers through his hair, smiling harder against his lips when he makes a pleased hum.
After some time, Y/N pulls away. She gives him a brilliant smile that makes him push one more kiss to her lips before he is ready to stop. She curls into his chest when he lays down again fully, and he gently runs his calloused fingers through her soft hair. She lefts out a comforted sigh.
“I don’t…” Daryl starts then pauses, breaking the silence. Y/N looks up from his chest, her fingers curled up in his shirt under his vest. “I don’t know… how to do this.”
“That’s ok,” she says with that soft, kind smile. She brushes hair away from his face and her closes his eyes for a second, relishing in the feeling. “We’ll figure it out together.”
They lay next to one another for a long while, even after the sun begins to set. Sharing caring and soft caresses and touches. Sometimes giving the other little shy smiles. It’s getting dark now, but the two still don’t want to part.
“Guess we should get home…” Daryl says reluctantly, his voice low and even grittier sounding than normal.
“Yeah, we should,” she replies, sinking further in his arms. Daryl smiles to himself and plants a shy kiss to her head. She lets out another content hum.
When they finally remove themselves from each other, they give each other shy smiles and glances. Y/N floats around the area one last time, picking a bundle of flowers before following Daryl to his bike.
Daryl watches her, how careful she is to the plants and how she walks around almost majestically. He thinks about how it was just a couple months ago she found her way into his life. She had called Alexandria home, and Daryl agreed, but now, just watching her meander through the clearing, he thinks that maybe home isn’t a place but a person.
When she gets to his bike, she opens up the little saddlebag to place her bundle of multicolored flowers. She suddenly frowns and looks over at Daryl.
“What?” He asks, nervously taking in her expression. She shakes her head and looks down, concern fretting her pretty features. Did she regret what just happened? Was she just now processing and she realized she didn’t want Daryl this way? She looks back up to meet Daryl’s eyes, still with that frown. Daryl wrings his hands.
“My damn bush is dead.”

summary: Daryl and you were something kept under wraps, the people of Alexandria unaware. When things escalate and you get angry, Daryl decides to claim what is his in a way that no one can mistake.
warnings: unprotected sex, creampie, makeup sex, oral (female receiving), anal fingering...and that should be it.
misc: this is for @ambassadortotrilliusprime based off a request she gave me. I'm not saying I will get them out incredibly fast, especially since I have started working on a book, but if you want me to write something, shoot it over to me and I will get to it.
Tumblr media
You were working on one of the few cars Alexandria had in running condition, trying to keep it that way, but you were absolutely distracted. Next to you was Daryl working on his bike.
While that was usually enough to distract you this was different. You weren’t blind. Since all of you arrived here they were trying to figure Daryl out. They being a set of siblings. The girl would coyly touch his hand and every time Daryl would retract and huff at her laugh before walking away. And then the brother started. He’d offer to go on recruitment trips with Daryl. He’d ask Daryl to teach him how to better shoot a gun. And today? Well, today was the worst. It felt like a hundred degrees out, the sheen of sweat on your skin, and you were having to listen to her laughing and giggling and asking about his bike, how she always wanted to learn to ride, like you didn’t matter. And to her, you didn’t.
There wasn’t a need to be, but you were pissed.
You hadn’t said a word, just silently continued your work, until you were finished.
A shrill whistle came out of you and Maggie started to open the gate, knowing that meant you were heading out. You slammed the hood shut which caused the vapid thing one to let out a little yelp before you stared at Daryl with a look that screamed anger. Throwing the tool down you were using last, you walked to the door and got in just to crank the engine and peel out of there, heading nowhere but needing to get out.
Meanwhile, after you left, Daryl quickly hopped on his bike and cranked it to life, drowning out the teasing low whistles sounding off from Rick. They all knew one thing that was obvious. Daryl was in trouble.
By the time Daryl caught up to you, you were slinging dirt down a dirt road.
He was cautious pulling up alongside you before yelling at you to pull over.
There was so much anger rising up in you though that you didn’t want to pull over, because you knew you wouldn’t be able to handle a calm and rational conversation. Instead, you looked at him and turned right as soon as you could. Much to your relief, after a bit, you realized Daryl didn’t follow. You came to a halt and got out of the car, kicking your foot at the rocks before settling on simmering.
As you sat on the hood of the car, you didn’t hear Daryl come up behind you through the woods and by the time he spoke up you weren’t able to get back in the car, “Wanna tell me what I did now, darlin’?”
You couldn’t help but sound spiteful as you spoke up, “More like what you didn’t do. Again.”
You heard his feet in the gravel and looked down at the ground, in time to see his feet standing before you. But you weren’t going to look at him, not yet. You weren’t ready. Especially since you felt like a fool the more you thought about why you were angry. Were you jealous? No, that wasn’t quite it. But you were upset. A sigh escaped you before you mumbled, “You never shut it down, and I’m sick of it.”
Daryl realized then and huffed out, “The two idiots?”
He didn’t like that you were still looking at the ground, not at him.
Hesitantly, he ran his hand along your thigh and flinched when you pulled away from him. Yeah. He fucked up. There was no question of it now. For you to not even want his hand on you? That stung. He cleared his throat and spoke up softly, “Darlin, look at me. C’mon killer. Look at me, yeah?”
“Why, Daryl?” You didn’t want him to see, just how on the verge of tears you were. You had never cried in front of him before, and for it to be over something so stupid after everything the group has been through? More tears threatened to spill from the embarrassment of it.
“Cause I don’t like when my girl ain’t wanting to see me. It don’t feel right.”
A shaky breath escaped you and you looked up at him, eyes glittering with your unshed tears, face hot from anger. He looked away for only a moment before looking back at you, his hand hesitantly resting on your arm, “I didn’t know how you felt ‘bout all this, killer. You know they don’t mean a damn thing, yeah?”
“Yeah, I know. That's why I’m an idiot.”
“Nah”- as you looked away the hand on your arm caught your chin and guided you to look back at him -”you ain’t an idiot, darlin’. But I wish you woulda said something sooner, yeah?”
This situation was a bit different.
It wasn’t like Daryl was typically rough with you. It was just more so this situation was out of his typical wheelhouse. The time on the road, even at the farm? The two of you weren’t together. This, between you two? It was more recent, technically. But this had been in the works since the prison. And since it became official, the two of you were even more inseparable. But he didn’t have to navigate a situation like this. Who was there to be jealous of? Certainly not Maggie. Carol was like a sister.
“I know Daryl, that they don’t mean a damn thing to you. But I don’t like someone, anyone, playing games to see just how close they can get to you either, yeah? You’re not a game for them to figure out how to play. And I don’t like someone making you uncomfortable all for a little bit of fun on their end.”
Daryl’s hands cradled your face and he did the only thing he knew to do in this situation, his lips falling on yours. This opened the floodgate of emotions for you. Your tears of frustration spilled and Daryl kissed along your cheeks, tongue gathering the saltiness, before the heat of his breath fell on your neck.
Your head rolled instinctively to the side to give him access. His lips and tongue soon fell on the sensitive spot only he knew about, your breath hitching as his arm wrapped around you and pulled you closer, legs spread to give him space to get closer. He grunted, “S’only ever you, killer.”
One arm wrapped around you, you felt his free hand snake up your shirt and palm your breast. As his hand fell, he pulled on your nipple before freeing it and something in you snapped with need.
You broke contact with him just to pull your shirt over your head and throw it down before you pulled him to you, desperate to kiss him again. As he moaned against your lips, your hands shoved his leather vest off and he worked with you to make it easier before you ripped open the snaps of his long sleeve shirt. Your hands busied with his belt as you managed to form the words, “I need you, Daryl. Please.”
“I ain’t saying no to you, not ever. Lay back for me.”
You did, without question.
Daryl’s breath caught at the sight of you, that pretty skin of yours on display underneath the noon sun. His grease streaked hand rested at the base of your neck. He marveled at the sharp contrast of it against the smoothness of you, slowly dragging his hand further down. He quickly pulled your shoes off, then unbuttoned your jeans and peeled them down, a smirk on his lips that had you asking what even as you spread your legs for him. Daryl’s hands fell at your hips as he grinded his clothed erection against your already glistening pussy, “Nothing, just…you ever wear anything under these clothes of yours?”
“No”- you bit back a laugh -”they just get in the way.”
Daryl moved quickly, eager to give you what you wanted but also fully aware that this left both of you more than exposed. Unzipping his pants, Daryl’s spit landed on your already wet core before he ran the head of his cock along your folds. Your feet wrapped around him dug into his ass, begging him to push. His hand clamped over your mouth as he did to smother the sounds you might make.
He stretched you open so fast, your hips bucked up and your back followed and you cried out against his hand as he began a brutal rhythm. You unwrapped your legs and used your hands to pull back on your thighs, opening yourself up to him more. Daryl’s eyes were fixated to where the two of you were joined, watching a soft bulge appear in your belly with each thrust. He moaned a bit as he could feel his precum leaking into you, those soft walls of yours beckoning him to release.
But he held off.
Taking his hand away from your mouth he instead placed it on your belly where the bulge appeared from his cock buried so deliciously deep inside of you and you cried out incoherently as he pushed down and angled his hips oh so slightly different, “C’mon killer, I wanna see that pretty pussy weep for me.”
That was it. That was your undoing.
Everything coiled inside of you and broke, and you came hard around him. Your walls fluttered and gripped tight, as if trying to get him deeper, and your cum dribbled around his cock. Daryl hunched over you, faltering in his rhythm and you pleaded, breathy, “Please, Daryl, cum inside of me. Claim me.”
“Fuckin’ hell”- Daryl’s word were lost to animalistic noise as he came, still pumping his hips to fuck it deeper into you, the sounds coming from the two of you wet and messy.
As he finally stilled, he took one of your nipples into his mouth and sucked hard. A look of satisfaction crossed his face as he felt you clamp around him again.
He growled playfully against your stomach, “Mine.”
“M’all yours, Daryl.”
Slowly, he got off of you and got dressed as you pulled your jeans, shirt and shoes back on before turning to him, suddenly feeling shy, “I, uh, guess we should head back, yeah?”
“Yeah”- he looked at the ground, also feeling shy -”yeah we should. Wanna drive me to my bike?”
“Yeah…yeah okay.”
Later that night in Alexandria, there was another one of Deanna’s get-togethers. Some sort of block party that neither of you wanted to go to. Yet, Aaron convinced Daryl and naturally, you followed.
You were talking to Eric as Daryl was off with Aaron when it happened. The vapid brother walked up to Daryl, and smiled before placing a hand on Daryl’s arm. Your eyes immediately averted to miss Daryl pulling away from the man’s touch. Eric smiled at you before nodding in Daryl’s direction, “I think the idiot is about to get the message.”
Confused, you turn to see him try to touch Daryl again, who immediately grabs the guy’s wrist and pushes it away before deciding to throw a fist across his jaw, dropping him cold. Everything came to a stop as the guy hit a table and pulled things down with him. Everything came to a stop, except Daryl. He walked over to you and commented, “Wanna get out of here?”
“Absofuckinglutely.”
Much to your surprise, and eliciting a yelp, he threw you over his shoulder and nodded at Eric, “See you and Aaron later, yeah?”
He walked in the direction of home, and you looked up to see everyone staring at the two of you. However, they disappeared from view as Daryl lowered you and you wrapped your legs around him. His hands instinctively braced you, one on your thigh, the other wrapped around your back and pulling you flush with him.
"That enough of a message, killer?"
"Yeah Dixon, that'll do it."
"How 'bout we have another round when we get home, take my time with you, taste those fucking juices of yours?"
Daryl stopped walking between the houses as you commented, "Why wait? You know there's not a damn thing underneath this dress."
"What'd ya say, darlin'? They just get in the way?"
At that, Daryl walked you back until you were against a house. Whose? No idea. You didn't care as he dropped to his knees before you and lifted and disappeared beneath that dress you had changed into, pulling one leg and then the other over his shoulders. You couldn't see him so when his tongue made contact you let out a moan in sync with Daryl's.
Your breath fell hard in pants as he quickly devoured you, feeling your pussy ruining his face with how aroused you were. You half expected him to stop and take you right here. You wouldn't have stopped him. His cock hadn't failed to make you cum before. But no, he kept going and going, hands on your legs clenching into your skin so hard you felt as though he'd leave bruises.
He'd pause and suck on your swollen clit, his scruff exquisite on your sensitive and puffy folds. Every time he did that your back would arch off the wall and your hands would cling to the back of his head through your dress for dear life. A desperate sound would escape you as you tried desperately to stay quiet.
Then, frustrated at how quiet you were managing to stay, Daryl's tongue picked up the pace, lapping up what you were giving him and swirling over your clit before he lifted you up and turned you around to face the wall and throwing your dress up so the cool night air rushed over your too warm skin. He spanked your ass once before clenching the meat with his hands and pulling to expose your pussy.
Running his fingers through your slick to get them coated, he got on his knees before you again, his back to wall.
This time though, you barely could stop the sound escaping you as he continued eating you, but his saturated finger finding and prodding the tightness of your asshole. Slowly, but simply, his finger slipped inside fully and he used that as leverage to pull you to him, encouraging you to fuck his face.
Soon, you were a moaning heaving mess for him. The feel of his mouth on your clit, tongue occasionally running along the length of you, and his finger deep in your ass and moving with you...it was too much. Your head rolled back and Daryl was sure you probably looked a vision, skin slicked with sweat and shining under the moonlight, a look of bliss on your face, ass exposed and taking his finger, the second one he had covered in your arousal pushing at the entrance.
He sucked on your clit again and your undoing hit you hard as you called out his name, screamed it in sudden shock. And only then did he let up, rubbing your twitching legs. He slowly removed his finger and let your dress fall down to cover you again.
He got out from beneath you, his lower half of his face covered with you. You saw him huff with a smirk.
"Yeah?"
"Took you long enough to call out my name, killer. But now ain't nobody gonna question who I'm with if I've got you sounding like that yeah? But let's go home for real now, cause I need to fuck you where only I hear what pretty noises you make."
A mischievous smile appeared on your face as you teased, "Yeah, alright. But you're gonna have to catch me first Dixon."
"Better start running then, darlin'."

~Daryl leads you to the farmhouse to get stitches~

You and Daryl walked through the woods together, you stumbling behind, head still fuzzy from exhaustion and legs still feeling like half done jello.
You wanted to know a little more about him and his camp before you went to them, already being too tired to escape if you had to. So after a bit of quiet, you sparked up a conversation, deeming like the archer wasn’t the talking type and wouldn’t start it himself.
“So who’s the girl you're looking for?” You ask from behind him.
Daryl grunted. “Name’s Sophia. She’s the kid of one of the women in our group. Got separated by a Walker and got lost.”
“Ah. How long has she been missing?”
“Week-and-a-half at least.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be, none of your problems.”
You shrug, leaning against a tree momentarily as you stumble along. “Doesn’t mean I can’t feel bad for her… You the dad?”
Daryl made a noise somewhere between a scoff and a huff of a laugh. “Nah, I met her and ‘er mom just a few months ago.”
“Sorry, I wasn't trying to assume anything.”
“Notta big deal,” He grunted.
Silents.
“So… What kind of people are in your group? How many?” You ask.
Daryl glances over his shoulder, looking at you suspiciously. He didn’t respond.
“Look, I'm not trying to spy on your camp or anything, I just want to know the kind of people there before I go. I’ve been to my share of bad camps before and I don’t want to get dragged into another,” You say, and stop walking.
Daryl kept walking. “Up to you If you wanna come to get yer arm fixed. Just don’t be thinkin’ you're gonna get to stay. One night to get that stitched up, and tha’s it.”
You start walking again, staying behind him. “That still doesn’t answer my question.”
He paused for a moment as he walked before speaking.
“We’ve got some police officers. Women, children, some farmer types.”
You relaxed a little. If there was one kind of person that would still be good during the apocalypse, it would be the police… Or at least you found comfort in the thought of it.
“Good to know.”
Daryl grunted. “Wha’ about you.”
“What about me?”
“Who are ya?”
You thought about it.
“I’m just me, I guess… I would consider myself a good person. I have- well, had- a lot of weird interests… I had a family, too. Few friends. Lost them during the first wave of outbreak,”
Once the silence settled in Daryl started to feel awkward. He didn’t know what exactly to say, so he went with his best guess and what was right.
“ ‘M sorry.”
You smiled slightly to yourself at the irony. “Don’t be. It’s none of your problems.”
By the time the two of you came out of the woodworks into a field, you could see the farmhouse and campsite up on the hill. It looked nice: a large house and a barn, an old shed type of thing, tents and a camper.
You could see people up ahead keeping watch, one on top of the camper and another standing at the edge of the camp watching the two of you closely. It was still too far away to see faces or the kind of people they looked like, though.
As you got closer the person on the camper, a blond woman, called to the others. Another woman with a mostly shaved head came running out, getting stopped by the man watching you closely from the edge of the camp. The man held out his arm, said something you could not hear from your distance, and the woman covered her face before turning away and disappearing into the camper.
Another man, bulkier with an almost completely shaved head, came out of the camper, hand on his hip, walking towards the top of you.
“Who the hell’s this?” the broad-shouldered man shouted as he approached, and the second man caught his shoulder.
“Shane, wait-” The second man started, but the broad-shouldered man, Shane, shoved it off.
You could see Daryl tense up and square his shoulders more as they approached, looking even more bitter, and somehow slightly bigger.
When the two men were in front of you and Daryl, all of you stopped walking and stood.
Shane gave Daryl a look that said everything he needed to know.
“ 'Er name’s Y/n,” Daryl grunted. “Just here for Hershel to give ‘er some stitches.”
You held up your wrapped arm to show them, standing slightly behind Daryl. The two men who had approached the two of you were intimidating enough, but Shane was really, really glaring at you now. You shank a little from behind Daryl.
Shane’s eyes shifted from Daryl, to you, then back to Daryl as he spoke. “The hell are you thinking?” Shane glared, and the other man caught his shoulder again.
“Shane, cool off,” He hissed, and Shane walked off, rubbing his head before circling back around again.
“Daryl I just think you like causing havoc- keepin’ up this desperate search for a dead girl and then bringin’ back randos?!” Shane yelled, squaring up to Daryl again. Daryl squared up to him, glaring.
“Hey! I’m getting close to finding the girl-” Daryl squared up to him as the second man tried to push them apart.
“Are you? Really!? You just made Carol think you found Sophia by bringing another chick up here- she thought it was her girl!” Shane spat. Daryl was slightly taken aback, but didn’t show it.
“Wasn’t my intention prick!” Daryl hissed back.
The other man got himself between the two men, pushing them apart.
“Both of you cut it out,” He hissed, brows knitted together in a glare. He looked at Shane, giving him a warning look, before turning back to Daryl.
“I'm going to assume you had a damn good reason for bringing a stranger back here,” The man said quietly, looking at you before back at Daryl.
“Just needs ta get ‘er arm fixed up, then she’ll leave,” Daryl said, matching the man’s tone.
The man watched you for a moment, then took a breath. “You know we’re on thin ice with Hershal already…” He muttered to Daryl, who gave a curt nod.
“Just needs stitches…” Daryl muttered, matching his tone again.
He sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose, waiting a moment before speaking. He looked over to you and your bloodied arm wrap. “Fine. Take her to Hershel.”
Shane looked outraged. “Big mistake Rick! We start letting rando’s in who knows what’ll happen!”
“Shuddup Shane,” Rick hissed. “We don’t have time for your bullshit.”
Shane glared at him. “I save your boy and this is how you repay me? By putting Carl and Lori in dangor again?!”
“I-I won’t be a problem… Seriously, just let me get the stitches, then I'll leave…” You say, interrupting them before they could keep arguing. You had seen enough men argue that you knew that interrupting them usually ended badly, but you could sense that the argument was just going to keep going.
Shane glared at you, rubbing his head again before turning and storming off.
Rick sighed, looking back to Daryl. “Take her up to Hershal… She’s not staying the night unless she absolutely has to…”
Daryl nodded, and began walking up the hill. You followed behind him, holding your swollen and painful arm.
You were hoping to trust this place, but after what you saw between the men Rick and Shane, you doubted the safety of this camp just as much as your last one.
Daryl led you inside the farmhouse, going to the doorway of a small bedroom. There was a little boy in the bed, shirtless with a patch on his stomach. A man with white hair was over the boy, a stethoscope on his stomach, shifting over to his heart.
The boy had his eyes open, and he was talking with someone else, a woman with black hair, sitting in a chair on the other side of his bed. She immediately looked up to you and Daryl.
She gave a small smile to Daryl before noticing you, and she tilted her head in confusion. She looked back at Daryl with confusion, brow’s frowned.
“Hershel,” Daryl grunted, and the silver haired man looked up, taking the stethoscope out of his ears, looking at Daryl.
Daryl nodded once. “Gotta girl that needs stitches.”
Daryl then looked at you, and you stepped into the room holding your swollen arm.
Hershel sighed, looking you up and down. “I don’t think I've seen you before.”
“I don’t think I have, either,” The woman said, looking at Daryl for answers, seeming slightly irritated.
“ 'Er name’s Y/n. Just needs some stitches, then she’ll leave,” He said.
The boy was watching you then Daryl. “Any luck with Sophia…?” He asked. You looked at him. He sounded so young.
Daryl shook his head. The boy looked disappointed.
“I’m sure we’ll find her… Right?” The woman said, looking back at Daryl, running a thumb over the boy's hand.
Daryl nodded. He turned back to you. “Stay with them. Be back in a bit.”
And with that, he turned and left, leaving you slightly confused.
The woman sighed, seeming to notice your confusion. “Sorry, he’s like that.”
You shake your head. “It’s ok…”
The woman nodded. “My name is Lori by the way, and this is my son, Carl.”
Carl gave you a tired smile.
You nodded. “I’m Y/n. Nice to meet you both.”
Hershel stood up, grabbing a bag of supplies. “We’ll work on this in the other room…” he muttered, then looked back at Lori. “Your boy sounds fine. He’s well on his way to recovery.”
Lori looked relieved. “Thank you.”
Hershel nodded. “No problem…” He turned to you. “Let’s get that arm stitched up.”
Daryl walked into the camper, finding Carol in the back, knees tucked to her chest, forehead resting on her arms.
She looked up from her spot on the floor, her face red and tear streaked. Daryl watched her for a moment, expressionless.
Carol took a breath, burying her head in her hands again, wiping off her face.
Daryl stood, watching her.
“Did… Did you find any leads on Sophia?” She muttered, looking up at him, her voice sounding weak and broken. Daryl hesitated before shaking his head slowly.
Carol took another deep breath, running a hand across her face.
Silents settled over the camper.
“I haven’t found your girl…” Daryl muttered, his voice low and gravely. “But I will… Promise.”
Carol looked up at him, her face saddened, watching him before she nodded.
“Thank you…” She muttered.
Daryl gave a small nod, then left the camper without another word…
The stitches didn’t take as long as you had thought, but definitely longer than you had hoped. They’re supply of painkillers was low, so the whole process was done without. Hershel made sure to tell you that this wasn’t because you were an outsider, and if anyone else needed this process they wouldn’t get painkillers either. He also explained that most of them had been used on Carl when he had gotten shot.
You couldn’t watch him doing the stitches without feeling sick, so instead you distracted yourself by looking around the room, out the windows, and talking to Hershel. You learned quite a bit about the people in the camp, about Carol losing Sophia, and the showdown constantly going on between the policemen Shane and Rick. Hershel thought it was fair to warn you about them in case you ended up staying with their camp.
Hershel was just finishing up your stitches when Rick came into the dinning room where the two of you were seated. He watched for a moment, hands on his hips, running a hand over his sweaty face before sighing.
“Y/n, right?” He said to you, and you nodded. “How’d you cut yourself? Walkers or…”
“No, not Walkers. People. Bad people…” You said, trailing off. “Hershel mentioned you were a policeman? Glad to know there are still some of you around.”
Rick nodded once. “About those bad people. How many? Where are they?”
You shake your head. “I’ve explained this all to Daryl before he invited me to come get fixed up. It’s a camp full of them, but it was only a few of them that did this. I don’t doubt the whole camp is like that though, no one there took the world breaking down so well.”
“The world is not broken down,” Hershel said, giving you a wary eye as he tied a knot in your stitches. “Just sick for now. We will rebuild into something new, just like we have throughout all of history.”
You nodded, giving him a small smile. “You're right… And I really hope we do.”
Hershel watched you, seeming slightly happy to have someone agree with him for once.
You sigh, turning your attention back to Rick. “As for how far away they are, I don’t know. I was running from them all night before I ran into Daryl… Not to mention the travel time from their camp to when I started running… I’m not sure where their camp is, either. I hadn’t been there for very long, and I’m not used to this area.”
Rick sighs, nodding, sounding disappointed. “Alright then…”
Hershel spoke up after a bit. “Your arm isn’t in a very good condition… How long did you have it unwrapped, and was it wrapped only in this…?” He gestured to your bloody shirt. You realize you were still wearing Daryl’s shirt, too, but you didn’t have time to think about giving it back to him right now.
“Hard to say… I think I ran a couple hours before getting it covered. I couldn’t risk stopping when they were chasing me.”
Rick’s brows frowned. “Chasing you?”
You nod slowly. “Chasing me. Five guys, leading me out into the woods saying they were going to teach me how to use a gun, but really they were just going to use me.”
Rick nodded, understanding. He had dealt with this kind of thing before the apocalypse, being a police officer let you see first hand how bad people can be.
Hershel broke the silents. “And you wrapped it in this?” He held it up with tweezers. It was dirty and coated with dried blood, some spots still damp with the foul red stuff. You let a sigh escape your lips, and nodded.
Hershel sighed. “The possibility of infection is high, then. Can’t know for sure yet, but with the swelling in your arm and the dirtiness of the wrap…. Chances are pretty high it’s infected. I can’t use disinfectants like rubbing alcohol with how deep this is, either.”
Your eyes widened slightly and your brows frowned. Rick rubbed the bridge of his nose.
“Do we have any medications for that?” Rick asks, his hands returning to his hips.
“I do. I can give you something to help with the inflammation, but it would be wise to stay a couple of nights just to make sure it won’t get any worse… Blood poisoning is possible, and is going to be difficult to treat without the right equipment,” Hershel said.
You swallowed. Rick sighed.
Rick looked at Hershel, then you. Hershel raised his eyebrows.
Rick let out a slow sigh. “You can stay with us for a couple of days… Just until you heal enough to be out on your own.”
You let out a small breath of relief. “Thank you… I’ll try to help out however I can,” You say, looking between Rick and Hershel.
“You need to rest your arm. Don’t strain it, or it’ll get worse,” Hershel said. You nodded.
Rick nodded. “I’ll talk to the others and see where we can put you for the night…”
It took the group a while before they decided where to put you. They had an extra tarp they had rigged up as a tent, and a spare sleeping mat for you. The only issue was where in the camp to put you.
After a half hour discussion, accompanied by some yelling from Shane and some eye rolling from Lori, some good points from Dale and some counter points from Andrea, they finally decided to put you away from the camp, on the outskirts of their borders, next to Daryl’s set up.
Shane's argument was that if Daryl brought you here, you should get to sleep next to him, and be his problem. This led to some small arguments, before finally the group decided it was right.
Daryl and Rick begrudgingly agreed, and soon your tent was set up a little ways from Daryl's tent. Short enough away that if something happened Daryl would be there, and far enough from the rest of the group to keep them from worrying.
Daryl and Glenn helped you set up a tent there. You would have helped, but Glenn made sure you didn’t because of your arm.
By the end of the day, you were dead tired from everything that had happened. You were hungry, too. You had been given water shortly after your stitches were done, but not any food yet.
The rest of the camp was by a fire, eating dinner and making their way to bed.
Your stomach rolled and grumbled as you laid in your tent, and you used a finger on your good hand to trace circles on the floor. You couldn’t exactly ask them for food: they had made it more than clear you were a burden already.
Footsteps began approaching your tent, and you stuck your head out to see who it was. It was Daryl, approaching your tent in the darkness, something in his hands.
Right as you could tell what it was in the absence of light, he handed it to you.
“Here. Eat,” He said, giving you a can of beef raviolis with a spoon sticking out the top before sitting down in front of his own tent, wiping down some arrows dirtied from his most recent hunt.
“Thanks…” You muttered, trying to eat politely, but your hunger took over and you finished it in a hurry, scraping the bottom of the can to get all the excess sauce.
You watched him for a moment, his hands working to clean off all the blood and mud from the arrow tips.
After a while, you spoke. “Why did you bring me food? You didn’t have to…” You say, still holding the can in your hands.
Daryl grunted. “I ain’t gonna let you starve just ‘cause they don’t want ya around.”
You nodded, watching him in the dark. “Thanks…”
Daryl grunted. “You say that a lot.”
You chuckled. “Yeah, kind of my thing I guess.”
You watched him for a moment longer.
“Seriously though, I mean it. Pretty much everyone else I've run into sense the world ended wouldn’t have done that for me… Not just the food thing, but saving me from a Walker, bringing me back to your camp to get stitches…” You say.
He waited a moment, cleaning off the last of the arrow heads.
“Notta big deal…”
You chuckled. “It is for me, you saved my life.”
Daryl grunted, putting away the arrows. “Just focus on gettin’ some sleep… Must be exhausted.”
You nod. Exhausted was an understatment. “Yeah, I am…” You crawl back into your tent, speaking to him one more time before closing the tent flap.
“Good night, Daryl…”

Beg Me | Negan Smith
(fem!reader)
Summary: Things get steamy when you pay Negan a visit in his cell (set in mid Season 9, I suppose).
Warnings: smut, swearing obviously, dirty talking, oral sex (m recieving)
Tumblr media
Over the past few months you had spent most likely a concerning amount of time talking to Negan in his cell. It started with taking him the odd meal, alternating your duty with other people. But over time you regrettably developed a soft spot for him, and dedicated yourself to finding the human underneath his tough exterior. You didn't let him know that though, remaining cold on the outside. That being said, you had pulled some strings for him, he now is allowed daily supervised showers, toothpaste and the occasionally beard and hair trim. All the basic hygiene stuff.
Though the truth is, you are lonely. Rick and Maggie were your closest friends and now they're both gone. Saddiq and Michonne were good friends to you, but Saddiq has enough on his plate at the moment and frankly Michonne hasn't been the same since Rick, so often times you find Negan being the only person to console in. You've never been much of a social butterfly anyway.
It's midday and you're sat watching Negan finish his lunch.
"All gone, ma'am," he says, popping the final bite in his mouth.
You take the plate from him and sit on your seat. He picks up the tennis that he has taken a liking to and bounces it off the wall, catching it, and repeating.
"So, what's the recent gossip?" He smirks. "I hear Gabe's boning Rosita."
"Negan," you scold, eyebrows furrowing. Though you did find their little relationship strange. "That's none of your business. None of our business."
"You reckon she took his virginity?" He continues, blatantly ignoring your remarks, continuing to bounce the ball, a huge mischievous grin spreading across his face.
You shake your head.
"No?" He asks curiously.
You hesitate before you bring it up, but you say it regardless. "I'm pretty sure him and Jadis, Anne, whatever she was called...you know," you widen your eyes and give him a knowing look.
"Really?" He gasps, taking his attention off the ball for a moment, causing it to slip out of his hand and out of the bars. It stops by your foot and you pick it up. He walks over towards the bars and wraps his hands around them.
"How do you know?" He asks.
"I don't know for sure but I've got eyeballs." You reply. "Something happened. I don't know what."
"Shit." He laughs. "I ought to give my boy Gabe credit where it's due. He's a player."
"He's a good Christian, Negan," you say, half sarcastically, earning a chuckle from him.
"Fuck, this is the most interesting thing to have happened in a while." He scoffs.
"That's sad," you laugh, raising your eyebrow at him. "So depraved that you're living through Gabriel's sex life. The vicar's sex life?"
You step closer to the bars, handing Negan his ball, but when he goes to grab it you quickly move your hand away, teasing him.
"You gonna give me my ball, sweetheart?" He smiles patronisingly.
You hold the ball, hovering it ever so slightly out of his reach. "Don't call me sweetheart."
"What would you prefer?" He taunts. "Sweet cheeks? Sugar plum?"
"You've got an awful lot of nerve talking to the only person who comes to see you like that." You warn, pointing your other finger at his face. "Say the wrong thing and I'm gone."
"But you always come back," he replies, cocking his head to the side smugly. "Why is that?"
"You don't get to ask questions." You snap.
"Oh, I like when you get fired up, darling." He smirks.
"I bet you fucking do." You retort impatiently.
"I do." He grins.
You bring your face closer to his and lower your voice, tired of Negan thinking he has you wrapped around his finger. "You also like this top?" You motion to the purple tank top you're currently wearing. "'Cause I've caught you looking at my tits at least ten times in the past five minutes." Your words clearly shock him. "You gonna jerk off to this little interaction later? That how fucking desperate you are?" You don't know what has come over you, you just want to finally have the upper hand.
"I'm a man." He smiles cockily, not embarrassed like you hoped he might have been. "I have needs."
He looks you up and down, his gaze burning into your skin, making you feel naked. "And I'd be lying if I said you weren't smoking hot."
You stroke your finger along his jawline seductively. "You thought about me before?" You ask. "While touching yourself?"
"Fuck yeah." He mutters, his eyes transfixed on your lips.
"Tell me what you think about." You demand.
"Baby, I-" but you interrupt him.
"Tell me." You snap, then moving your lips to trace his jawline and "Tell me and I'll suck your cock." He elicits a small groan and you grab his face in your hand, turning his head to face you. "And don't call me baby."
"Fuck, I- uhh..." He says, his voice gravelly. "I think about taking you in every fucking position, making you scream my name. Even fucking you out there," he points out of the barred window, "bending you over for everyone to see. So they can see how good I fuck you."
You look at him through heavy lidded eyes and in this moment you have never been so attracted to someone.
"See that wasn't too hard, was it?" You smirk, your lips lightly brushing his, just enough to give him a brief taste of what he wants.
"God, you're so fucking hot," he mutters.
"What do you want?" You ask him smugly.
"You know what I want." He groans impatiently. Your hands creeps to his crotch and palms him softly through his pants, forcing a small moan from his lips.
"I want to hear you say it." You whisper. "Beg me."
"Fuck, please," he groans. "Suck my cock. Please."
"That's it." You slowly lower yourself onto your knees and unzip his pants through the bars of the cell. You release him from his boxers and see that he is already rock solid, and he is big. Almost intimidatingly big.
Teasingly, you trace your tongue around his tip, tasting the pre-cum on his cock. His hips buck at the small contact, not used to anything but his hand for so long. He'd been in this cell for years. Soon enough, you take his cock fully into your mouth and you can't help but get butterflies and the deep, gutteral moan he involuntarily let's out as you do so.
Through the bars he grabs your hair, guiding your head up and down his length. The way he pulls on your hair sends tingles down your spine. His hips thrust and you stop your movements as he basically just fucks your mouth, doing all the work himself.
"Fuck," he hisses, and you can tell he is dangerously close. Concocting a plan in your head, you pull away and he stares at you, eyes wide, looking disheveled.
"No, don't stop, I'm about to-"
"I know," you whisper. "Trust me."
He nods, frustrated, but his eyes light up as he notices you start to lift your top up. You lift it off over your head and swiftly unhook your bra, leaving you topless and bare in front of him. He reaches his hands out wordlessly and you step closer to him, kissing him passionately while his hands squeeze and play with your breasts.
Breaking off the kiss, you grin. "You want me to finish what I started?" You don't wait for his answer because his eyes tell you enough, so you drop to your knees yet again, taking your tongue from the base to the tip of his cock, painstakingly slow.
You look up at him before continuing. "I want you to cum on my tits, okay?" He groans at your words. "Think you can do that?"
"Fuck, of course I can do that, sweetheart."
Without warning, you engulf him fully in your mouth again, and he grabs your chin with one hand and wraps your hair around the other, fucking your face mercilessly, picking the pace up in no time. Tears run down your face but you love it.
It doesn't take long for him to get to the point he was previously at because he hurriedly removes himself from your mouth. You brace yourself as he gives himself a mere single stroke, then his release spills onto your chest. He elicits the dirtiest, most primal sounding moans as he does so and it turns you on beyond belief. You can see him struggling to keep his eyes open, not wanting to miss the view.
"Fuck," he mumbles as you run your finger along your chest, gathering some of his cum and licking it off, sucking it off seductively. "Jesus Christ, you're unbelievable."
You grab a flannel shirt that you hung over the back of your chair and use it to clean yourself up while Negan zips his pants back up. You put your top back on, but pick your bra off the ground leaving it dangling off your finger.
"You owe me big time for that," you tease.
You pick the tennis ball up (which got dropped at some point) and place it on the chair, along with your black lacy bra, out of Negan's reach. Without another word, you exit the room, leaving Negan breathless, disheveled and hungry for more, reeling from what just happened, sat staring at the ball and the bra that you left to taunt him.
"I'm gonna fuck you next time," you hear him yell as you close the door behind him, eager to have the last word, as always.

Summary: Y/N sees Daryl and makes Negan let him come back to Alexandria for a homecoming dinner to be orchestrated by Negan of course. In order to get that though Y/N has to give something to Negan in return...
My time at the Sanctuary is going well so far. I get my own room and the wives are even nice to me. I think it’s because Negan spends most of his time fucking me which takes the heat off of them, but I don’t mind. I imagined them being like high-school mean girls or something, but I have nothing but good things to say about them. But then something dawns on me the day after Rick leaves and I feel guilty about not thinking of him until now.
“Negan,” I say when he gets back from a supply run. “Take me to see Daryl.”
Negan, who is polishing Lucille in his living room, looks up at me a bit guiltily.
“You don’t wanna see him, sweetheart, trust me.”
“The fuck are you doing to him?” I yell. My heart drops. “That man is important to me! He’s like my fucking uncle. Are you torturing him?”
“I need to break him,” Negan explains, an eyebrow raised. “He’s Rick’s right-hand man. Think about things from my perspective for a goddamn minute, why don’t you? I can’t just give him a fucking hotel room.”
“He can’t be broken, Negan. He’s practically the strongest man I know,” I impress. “There are other ways to mess with Rick.”
“I thought I was the strongest man you know,” Negan smirks.
“Stop fucking around, this is serious!” I shout.
“Damn, okay, Y/N. You know when you get assertive it gets me worked up. But what do I get in return if I were to let my enemy’s second in command go free, baby? I’m assuming that’s what you want.”
“That’s what I’m going to get,” I inform him, pressing a finger into his leather-jacket-covered chest.
“Is that so?” Negan grins, grabbing my hand. “Well, go on. You know you got me wrapped and I can hardly say ‘no’ to you, but I want something in return.”
“You can’t take anything more from Alexandria because we’re practically starving over there, but maybe you let Daryl go and you take me and him back to Alexandria and I…will personally announce my free-willed devotion to you and it will fuck with the whole town and especially Rick’s head.”
Negan thinks about it.
“Hmm, I like that. And we could have a family Welcome Home dinner,” he agrees, his grin getting wider. “Everyone will be there for the show. Carl, Rick, Michonne, Daryl, and baby sister, and you and me. I’ll even cook goddamn spaghetti free of charge. I make a mean tomato sauce.”
“You want a fucking family dinner, you freak?” I snicker.
“Trust me it will be worth it to see the looks on their faces. Especially Rick’s. But you know what? I need a little something right now to tide me over. What’s that gonna be, baby?” He smiles wide.
“First, you take me to Daryl right this instant and you stop whatever horrid torture techniques you’ve been doing to him. And then I’ll give you the best blow job of your life. How does that sound?”
“Sounds like you think you’re going to be the one in control of that blow job, but I can assure you, sweetheart, it’s going to be the other way around. Gonna have you absolutely choking on my cock, baby girl. No mercy.”
I swallow.
“Fine,” I say like it’s no big deal and I’m not a little nervous. “Take me to Daryl.”
***
Negan walks me down through the bowels of the sanctuary to where they keep the cells. I hope what I said is true and that Daryl didn’t break. I pray it. We walk until we reach a single tiny room with some stupid pop song playing on repeat inside it.
Negan opens the door.
“Well, if it isn’t the man of the hour!” he booms, holding up Lucille to remind Daryl not to try anything, the music increasing in volume as we enter.
Daryl is crouched down in a filthy sweatsuit, covering his ears from the annoying music.
“Y/N?” he asks slowly in a raspy voice, looking up cautiously. “That really you?” “It’s me, Uncle Daryl,” I say rushing over to him, grabbing onto his dirty hands. “Turn off that fucking music, Negan.”
And Negan actually does.
“The hell you doin’ down here?” Daryl asks in concern. “You ain’t a prisoner too, are you?”
“No, it’s not like that,” I explain. “I’m here to get you out. Tomorrow you’re coming back to Alexandria, okay?”
I try to hug him, but he flinches at my touch. My heart sinks.
“You are quite popular, ‘Uncle Daryl,’” Negan smirks down at him, unable to not insert himself into the conversation. “Y/N won’t shut up about you. You must have at least been decent to her unlike Rick the Prick. I, for one, did not wanna let you go, but Y/N is going to convince me in more ways than one if you catch my drift.” He winks and does that lean thing he’s always doing. “And tomorrow,” he continues, stamping his foot for emphasis. “When you go back home to your quaint little town, you will make it clear that it was Y/N who saved you, is that understood?”
Daryl says nothing, so Negan takes Lucille and makes like he’s going to strike him with her, but he stops the bat just before it would have collided with Daryl’s face. Daryl does not even flinch.
“Shit, you do not scare easily. I like that!” Negan grins gleefully.
“Stop it, Negan,” I snap. “We get it. Your dick is the biggest.”
“Goddamn right it is,” he chuckles and I roll my eyes.
“Y/N,” Daryl mumbles quietly, turning to me. “If he’s making you do stuff that…you don’t wanna do, I’m not worth that.”
“Trust me, Rick’s Little Bitch, she wants it,” Negan announces. “Could even give you a goddamn preview if you w–”
“Shut up!” I yell at Negan. “For once in your life, please shut the fuck up! I’m fine, Daryl. I promise.”
“You and he?” Daryl asks in his way of little words, gesturing between the two of you.
“Something like that,” you nod. “Give him some proper food, Negan, and some real clothes, and let him shower. Those are the conditions.”
“You know, I am a decent man and benevolent ruler, so I’ll allow those. I’ll tell Davey to get on that right away, princess. See? I am a man of my word. See ya tomorrow, Daryl. It's your big goddamn homecoming day! Now let’s go, Y/N, you’ve got something to give me.”
***
We return to Negan’s bedroom. I’m silent the whole way back.
“You mad at me, princess?” Negan asks, taking off his jacket. “‘Cause of how I treated him?”
“Honestly, yeah,” I reply, sitting down on his bed.
“Try to think of it from my perspective, honey, it’s not personal.”
“I know that, but you could at least be humane,” I point out.
“Think about if Alexandria had gotten ahold of Simon or Dwight–”
“We wouldn’t have tortured them. Plus, you already ironed off Dwight’s face. How can it get worse?”
“And do you know why I did that?” Negan asks.
I shake my head ‘No.’
“He ran away with Sherry and got Sherry’s sister, Tina, killed and my men had to save their sorry asses.”
I hadn’t known that.
“I’m cruel, sure, but I have reasons for doing shit, baby,” Negan assures me. “Cruel but not unusual if you know what I mean. For example, you know I’d never make you do shit you didn’t wanna do. If you’re too mad at me to blow me, you don’t have to. But I know the thought of it makes you so fucking wet.”
He’s not wrong. I want to say ‘no’ to spite him, but the things he says make sense even if I wish they didn’t. And I…I feel something really strong for him that I can’t even explain. He makes me feel so good and safe. He has rules that make sense, which is different from my life back at Alexandria with Rick where any second he could lose it on me and I always have to be on my guard. With Negan I know what I’m getting and if I say stop, he’ll listen. There’s something powerful about that. I want to make him feel good despite every instinct in my brain. I want him to hold and comfort me too.
“Fine,” I say. “But you fuck with Daryl again and I will personally end your life. Now sit down on the goddamn bed.”
“Damn, baby.” Negan grins. “So hot when you threaten me and boss me around.”
“We’ll have to explore that another time,” I smirk. “Shit, did that make you hard?”
“Just being around you makes me hard, baby. But yeah.” He sits down on the bed and palms the bulge at his crotch. “Bet you’re already wet though too.”
He’s not wrong.
I put my hair up and bend down between his legs.
“Take your pants off,” I insist.
“This isn’t for your pleasure, you little slut,” he smirks. “Maybe if you earn it.”
I roll my eyes and reach for his belt buckle, but he slaps my hand away.
“Did I tell you to?”
“No, Daddy,” I reply obediently.
“There’s my good girl. Now you may.”
Control freak. I undo the leather belt and remove it, then I unbutton and unzip his grey khakis and pull out his half-hard cock and balls.
My mouth waters.
“Now strip,” he orders.
I do slowly, pulling my shirt over my head to expose my breasts and I unhitch the bra and Negan swears. Then I pull off my pants and my underwear and shiver from the cold.
“Damn, baby. You look so good. Now, take me and get me all the way hard,” he orders. “In your mouth.”
And I do. I take his long, girthy dick and kiss the swelling head to tease and Negan groans. Then I take as much of him as I can down my throat.
Negan lets out a small moan as I suck and use my hands on the girth that doesn’t fit in my mouth. This goes on for a few minutes and Negan is fully erect in my mouth and it makes me so wet. I reach down to touch myself, but Negan slaps my hand away.
“This is isn’t for your pleasure, you little harlot. How many times do I gotta fucking say it, baby?”
“Sorry, Daddy,” I reply, looking right in his eyes. “You just make me so wet is all.”
Negan groans and squeezes the base of his cock.
“Tonight is for me, isn’t it, Y/N?” He growls, grabbing a handful of my hair.
“Yes, Daddy,” I reply disappointedly. “Ow!”
“Too much, kid?” Negan asks seriously.
“No, it hurt good,” I tell him, liking the pain.
“You little freak! You know, I think we need a safe word. How about ‘walker?’”
“Sounds good to me.”
“Daddy’s gonna fuck your mouth now, baby.” Negan tells me, looking down into my eyes. “It’s gonna be rough, but I know you can take it.”
“Do your worst,” I challenge and Negan snickers.
“God, I love that." He pulls on my hair again roughly, “Get to work, slut,” he growls, and with that, he shoves his fat cock far down my throat and I gag.
Then he holds the back of my head and fucks my mouth with vigor, not holding back. I have to grab onto his waist to keep from being knocked over by the force. Goddamn.
He fucks me so hard each time it makes a gluck sound that is so filthy I am soaking against my thighs. My throat feels raw and sore, but he keeps going. Then he pulls my head down all the way on his cock and I choke, my nose smashing against the salt and pepper pubic hair at the base of his prick. He holds me down for what feels like forever and I can’t breathe! Oxygen is all I can think about and the throbbing pleasure between my legs. Fuck!
Finally, he pulls off of me, and I think he’s done so I move to get up.
“Ah, ah, ah, Not yet, baby girl,” Negan sneers. “Aw, you thought I was finished? Nice fucking try.”
And then he’s grabbing the back of my head and forcing me back all the way down on his cock and I’m gagging and choking and tears are streaming down my face. My brain begins to get foggy from the lack of oxygen and my pussy drips further down my thighs as saliva and precum dribble down my chin.
“Damn, baby. Taking it like you were fucking born for it. What a perfect little slut,” he groans. He tastes so good. His precum is perfectly salty. “I’m close, angel. Fuck! Look how wet you are. Tell ya what: I’ll hold you down on me for ten more seconds and if you’re a good girl and don’t touch your aching, dripping little pussy, I’ll give you a reward.”
“Yes, please, Negan,” I moan, so desperate to cum.
“Is that what you call me?” he snaps.
“Yes, Daddy,” I whine. “Come on, please. Just do it. I’ll be so good for you.”
And with that, Negan sticks his cock back down my throat.
“One…” Negan begins with his usual snarky grin. “Fuck.” He groans in pleasure as his attractive face relaxes in bliss. “Two…Three...”
I start to struggle a little reflexively, my nose pressed against the patch of salt and pepper hair at the base of Negan’s prick, just below his hairy tummy, but he only grabs my head harder and holds me in place more tightly, which my pussy seems to like a lot.
“Be good for me now, Y/N,” Negan reminds me condescendingly, stroking the back of my head gently despite his firm grip, his voice low. “Four...Five…”
I can’t breathe! My brain screams out for air. I try to whimper, but only make a sad, strangled sound against him. Fuck, it feels so good.
“Six...Seven…Stay fucking still, baby!” he growls.
To stop me from trying to move, Negan wraps his large hand around my neck, and I moan, throbbing between my legs, pleasure buzzing inside me, aching to touch myself.
“Oh, shit, you really like that don’t you?” he smirks. “Eight…”
He squeezes his hand down around my throat and I see black spots around the edges of my vision. Fear pumps through my blood, but my spiking arousal is all I really care about as I hump against nothing but air. Negan smirks at my dancing, itching fingers.
“Nnnghhm!--” I try to moan desperately, my lower body shaking and spasming, staring up at him.
“Nine…Are you gonna fucking cum just from this!?” he exclaims. “You little whore!”
I cannot breathe! I cannot fucking breathe! I am going to fucking pass out! Or cum! Or both! Holy fuck!
“Ten…” Negan groans, and finally pulls out of my throat, loosening his grip on my neck, as my body twitches.
“Such a good little slut for me!” Negan exclaims enthusiastically, his voice so low it is almost a growl. “Now what do you say?”
“Thank you, Daddy,” I whine softly, my throat sore from overuse.
“Fuck, baby, I just slid my dick down your throat, and you thanked me for it!” he booms excitedly.
“Yeah, yeah asshole, sure–” I start to say.
But then he cuts me off by slapping my face with his dick and I can’t help but giggle.
He snickers too, looking down at my legs.
“Holy shit! You’re goddamn Niagra Falls down there, sweetheart. Want Daddy’s help with that?”
“Please,” I beg. “I am so horny for you, Daddy.”
“Touch yourself for me, baby. But do not cum!”
He pats the bed and I get up and sit on it next to him and start rubbing my pussy desperately. I let out a low moan as my fingers meet my clit. Negan stares at me and strokes his cock, cursing under his breath.
After a few steamy minutes of this, I insert and curl my fingers inside myself and begin shaking with the need to cum.
“Daddy,” I whine in a wrecked voice. “I’m close.”
“Holy fuck, here it comes!” Negan growls and he cums all over my chest with a shout.
“Would’ve swallowed it,” I tell him disappointedly, as he exhales deeply.
“You look amazing like that, baby. Holy moley, you look good!” he pants, wiping his brow. “Jesus.”
“Do I ever get to cum?” I practically yell, my face flushed with how horny I am, his cum dripping down my tits.
“Not tonight,” he informs me and I deflate. “You cum when I tell you you can. And if you touch yourself before I allow you to you will fucking regret it. You won’t cum for a week. Is that understood?”
“Yes, Daddy,” I whine. “But I mean are you sure I can’t cum on your fingers?”
“I have a surprise planned for tomorrow, angel, don’t worry,” he says surprisingly gently.
“Okay,” I nod. “Can we cuddle though?”
“Of course, baby girl. You were very good for me. Let me clean you up though first.”
He leads me into his bathroom and pats the counter for me to sit. I do and he wets a towel with warm water and cleans off my chest very gently. It feels nice. I yawn sleepily.
“Ready for bed?” he smirks. “You were so good for me, angel, truly.”
“You sure I can’t cum?” I beg. “Why is it my fault that you’re so hot?”
He laughs, his face scrunching up.
“You tempt me, kid, you really do, but I want you extra excited for my plan tomorrow. You’ll thank me later.”
I doubt that, but I let it slide for now.
We brush our teeth and then get into bed. I become the little spoon and he the big one.
“What if I just came from rubbing on your thigh? That’s not easy.” I try one last time.
“Shut up,” Negan snorts. “Go to sleep. We have a big day tomorrow. You made goddamn sure of that…”
A/n: Who's hyped for the Alexandria dinner? PLEASE give feedback I would highly appreciate it and I wonder if you guys are liking the direction of the story?????

Chapter 1: Caramel
The summer of 1990 was a record-breaker for heat. The sun shone brighter than ever by early June. While people around Atlanta were finding ways to keep cool, Merle Dixon along with his younger brother Daryl, and their motorcycle gang pulled into the local 7-11 to get some ice-cold brews. They were headed to Pine Lake for a party. Merle and two of his buddies went inside for drinks.
“Hey Merle, get some snacks too!” Daryl yelled after him. Merle shot him the middle finger, laughed, and went inside. Daryl lit up a cigarette. As he listened to the group talking and laughing, a small group of young ladies walked past them. Daryl’s attention averted to have a gander at these five women. One, in particular, stood out to him. She was a curvaceous woman, with an ample chest, wide hips, and thick thighs. Her long ebony curls bounced in a neat ponytail as she walked in flip-flops with painted red toenails. She was wearing a pair of cut-off blue jean shorts that hugged her apple-shaped bottom. Her skin was a delicious shade of caramel, tanned from the hot sun no doubt. Her red halter top complimented the shade well. As she passed him he said, “Hot day.”
She nodded curtly, eyeing the pale-skinned man in the grey tank top as her friends giggled and they went into the store. She stopped for a moment to look over her shoulder at him, “You better watch yourself, you’re gonna get burned.”
He smiled slyly and playfully smacked Terry in the chest as the automatic door swung shut, “damn!”
“She’s outta your league, Daryl.” Terry chuckled as Daryl rubbed his dirty blonde goatee. He was already plotting what to do next.
“Naw… she ain’t.” He took a breath before heading into the convenience store himself. Terry looked at Buck and sniggered.
Inside, Daryl could hear Merle’s loud voice back by the beer cooler laughing with Sam and Joe. He casually walked down one aisle with low shelves, spying on the girls over by the Slurpee machine comparing flavors. He paused by the snacks and perused the various chips, raising his eyes often to watch the girls as they laughed and poured themselves the thick icy beverage. He glanced back praying his brother wouldn’t come up while he made his move. He walked to the girls and said, “Hey, ‘s y’ flavor?”
“Caramel” sucked slowly on her straw before saying, “Cherry.” A pair of large green eyes framed with long lashes lifted to look at him. He felt his insides turn to mush, as a boyish grin crossed his face.
He followed her outside and as she started walking away with her friends he called out, “’s yer name?”
Looking over her rounded shoulder, “Sybil.”
From that moment on, he was hooked.
Chapter 2: The Receipt
Alexandria
Daryl rolled over, restless in his bed. He heard footsteps thudding on the basement ceiling. Judith and RJ must be over for breakfast. He sat up, Dog instantly licking his face.
“Down, boy…” he grunted. Dog jumped to the floor and waited patiently by the back door for his morning walk. Daryl shirked into some clothes, donned his boots, and opened the door. Dog ran out into the dew-covered grass behind the house to do his duties. Daryl whistled,  beckoning for Dog to join him as he walked down the road toward the Alexandria main gate.
Rosita and Aaron were up on the platform, keeping watch for possible trouble.
“Good Morning, Daryl!” Aaron called out. Daryl waved quietly and moved along, toward the community center where many of the residents chose to eat together. He walked in, nabbed a fresh loaf of bread, and returned to Carol’s house.
“Good morning Uncle Daryl!” Judith exclaimed running to him as soon as he closed the door.
“Mornin’ Jude,” he answered as she hugged him around the waist. He put his arms around her shoulders and hugged her in return. RJ joined them and gave Daryl a high five.
“Come on, Judith… RJ… let’s get you fed before classes.”
“Y’ heard Aunt Carol… c’mon and get to the table.” Daryl grabbed a knife and started cutting up the bread for toast. Carol served the kids fresh scrambled eggs, apple slices, and orange juice. They munched on the yummy food while Carol poured Daryl his first cup of coffee. He leaned against the counter sipping it, his mind wandering.
He went weeks before he saw Sybil again. This time, she was at a grocery store as a cashier. What luck Daryl had! He spotted her immediately as he carried the armloads of food to the register. He decided to go through her line, affording him a great opportunity to talk to her again.
“Have a nice day,” she was saying as she handed the receipt over to the customer in front of him.
He scratched the back of his neck as she started cashing him out, “find everything you were looking for?” She lifted her eyes, a smile on her face, dimples adorning her cheeks.
“Naw…”
“No? Is there something I can help you with?”
“Sure. Y’all could give me y’ number.”
She chuckled, “You’re mighty confident.”
“’ Member me?”
“Not sure that I do,” she replied, toying with him. There was no way Sybil could forget those deep-set blue eyes and that handsome face.
“I can make it so y’ never f’get me again.” He leaned on the conveyor belt, stopping it.
“Oh yeah?”
There was a line forming behind him.
“You’re right I’ll never forget you if you get me fired,” she feigned being cross.
“Give me y’ number an’ I’ll pay m’ total.”
“I don’t even know your name,” she said, “that will be twenty-eighty-seven.”
He pulled out thirty bucks. When she returned his change, she handed him his receipt.
“Daryl. M’ name’s Daryl.”
She smirked, “have a nice day, Daryl.”
He grabbed his bag, frowning. As he put his change in his pocket, he realized she’d written a phone number on the back of the receipt.
She winked at him and started on her next customer’s order.
“… Daryl?”
Daryl looked up from his mug at Carol, “Huh?”
“I asked what your plans were for today. Where were you just now?”
He shook his head, “Nowhere. ‘M thinkin’ of takin’ a ride t’ Hilltop.”
“Yeah? If so, could you take a few things for me? I made Maggie some curtains for Hershel’s room in the Barrington House, and there are some parts that Eugene needs for the radio.”
He shrugged, “Yeah, get t’ stuff t’gether n’ I’ll take it w’ me.”
He took a plate of eggs and set it on the floor for Dog.  Dog chowed down while Daryl munched on a piece of toast.
“Alright, go get washed up and Uncle Daryl will walk you to school on his way out.”
“Okay,” Judith looked at her younger brother, “get your stuff.”
Once Daryl delivered the kids to class, he and Dog ambled to the gate where Carol was waiting for him. He shouldered his pack and strapped the box of things to take down on his motorcycle. Carol squeezed his shoulder, “You have a safe trip, okay? Tell everyone I say hello. Oh, and I nearly forgot. Judith wrote Hershel a letter.” She slipped it into his hand. Daryl smiled.
“I’ll make sure he gets it.”
Chapter 3: Lending A Hand
Hilltop
Daryl sped into Hilltop, Dog in tow, and parked close to the barn. He got several waves from various community members and was warmly greeted by Maggie. She wrapped her arms around him for a big hug, “Been a long time, stranger,” she remarked, squeezed his shoulder, and knelt to pet Dog.
“Too long,” Daryl confessed, nodding in acknowledgment toward Jesus and Tara.
“Damn right it’s been too long,” Tara piped up, “tell us, what’s everyone been up to?”
“Y’ know,” he shrugged, “same old. Ain’t much t’ tell.” He patted his jacket pocket, “Got somethin’ f’ Hershel though.” He pulled out the envelope and handed it to Maggie.
“A letter from Judith?” She ran her fingers over the front of the makeshift envelope.
“Mhm. Seems they’re becomin’ pretty good pen pals,” He smiled.
“They are. It won’t be long, they’ll be on the radio talkin’. I think Hershel has a lil’ crush,” Maggie’s toothy grin spread.
Daryl grunted, “I got stuff f’ Eugene too.”
“He’s up in the attic monkeying with things, I’ll run it up to him,” Jesus said knowing full well how Eugene liked to talk people’s ears off, and Daryl was more of a quiet man.
“Thanks f’ that,” Daryl remarked looking around, “Where’s Connie?”
“She’s at Oceanside with Kelly and Luke. I know you’re disappointed,” Maggie teased.
“I’ll catch her soon ‘nough.” He shrugged, “’m here now. What can I do t’ help out?”
“We have a few cabins to build. Wanna help with that?”
“Sure,” he nodded, walking with Maggie to the area of expansion past the orchards. He was greeted by Alden, one of the blacksmiths, who was delivering a box of nails.
“Daryl, good to have you here,” Alden smiled, handing him a hammer.
“Jus’ tell me where t’ go.”
He pointed to one of the cabins already in progress. Daryl joined in immediately. As he worked with the others, it wasn’t long before he was sawing logs, roofing, and throwing himself into the job at hand. Daryl didn’t mind hard work. When the frame of the cabin was finished, he felt a sense of accomplishment and moved onto the exterior walls.
When he paused to take a cigarette break, he spotted Lydia making her way over to him. She had a wide smile on her face, her long black hair hanging loosely around her shoulders. Elijah was holding her hand, the same goofy smile on his face. Daryl smirked. Young’uns.
“We brought you some water. You’ve been working hard,” Lydia handed him a canteen.
“Thanks,” he said, swishing the cold liquid in his mouth. Felt cool and refreshing on this warm Spring day.
“We were going to head to Alexandria for a visit, but now seeing as you’re here, we won’t leave until you do. If you don’t mind.”
“Naw could use the company,” he answered, patting her shoulder.
“Great! I miss everyone. And I wanted to see Negan.”
Frowning, “What y’ need t’ see him for? He ain’t no good, Lydia.”
“I know his past, and I know how you feel about him-”
“You don’t know all ‘bout that sumbitch.” Daryl never talked with anyone in his family about what transpired when he was held prisoner at Negan’s compound, Sanctuary. Tortured, starved, stripped down for humiliation…
“I suppose I don’t. But he stuck up for me when those kids attacked me. If it weren’t for him, I might not be here. I don’t need you to understand it, but I won’t sneak around to talk to him.”
Daryl had to give her credit for being so upfront about her connection with Negan. It was true that he helped her one night when three members of Alexandria ganged up on her. It was also true that one ended up dead at Negan’s hand. It was an accident, but with Negan’s history, it nearly got him lynched.
“I don’t understand it, an’ I don’t like it. But I ain’t gonna stop ya.”
That’s one thing Lydia admired about Daryl – he didn’t treat her like a little girl. He talked to her as if she was an adult, and she respected that. Too many people tried to treat her like a child. She was seventeen, and beyond her years in many ways.
Daryl tossed her back the canteen, “Back t’ work. Y’ know, y’all could help out. Get done a lot faster.”
“I can swing a hammer,” Elijah smirked, “I’m gonna help out.”
“I’ve got some other things to do, but then I’ll be back over.” Lydia kissed Elijah before leaving. Elijah blushed and cleared his throat.
“C’mon,” Daryl spoke up, “ ‘s getcha that hammer.”
Chapter 4: First Date
(One Week Later) Daryl drove up to the house where Sybil lived. Already outside, she’d been waiting for him. She laughed when he turned off his motorcycle.
“I just knew you were going to show up on that thing.”
Daryl looked down at the bike, “’s my ride.”
She nodded, “Oh yeah… it’s your ride alright. I’ve never been on one before.”
“Well, y’all will have the time o’ yer life then.” He smiled. She walked over in a pair of tight-fitted jeans, her hips swaying practically mesmerizing him.
“Interesting way to start a first date,” She commented, sliding on behind him. Her hands went to his waist, clutching tight as he kicked the motor on and took off down the street.
“Shouldn’t we have helmets?” She called into the wind. Daryl swung the bike onto the main road.
“Naw… yer fine.”
She laughed, “As I said before, you’re mighty confident.”
Daryl enjoyed the feeling of her behind him, her hands tightening their grip. He lowered his left hand and pulled one of her arms around him tighter.
“You’re bold,” she remarked, but slid her other arm around, locking her hands in front of his stomach.
“So are ya.”
They drove along Pine Lake, one of the first places he could think of to take her. When they got off the bike she said, “You’ve got me alone, in the woods. Should I be afraid?”
“I didn’t keep y’ alive on that bike only t’ kill ya in the woods,” He smirked. She laughed. It was music to his ears; so light and genuine.
“Been t’ Pine Lake ‘fore?”
“Oh yes. This is the main hang-out spot. You?”
“Come here a bit.”
They walked a trail along the east side of the lake, quiet at first.
“So that gang you’re with…” she finally cut the silence as she studied the trees, “been with them long?”
Daryl shrugged, “yeah. They’re kinda family. My big brother Merle started hangin’ out w’ some guys an’ it went from there.”
“How many of you are there?”
“Just one,” he teased.
“Ha ha,” she rolled her eyes.
“’ Bout twenty or so. Why?”
She shrugged, “Just curious.”
She pulled a leaf off a branch and twirled it between her fingers.
“Y’ thinkin’ ‘m gonna be trouble?”
“I don’t know… are you?”
“Maybe,” he stopped walking and pointed, “look,” he whispered, “a doe.”
She squinted, “Where?”
He extended his arm with his fingertip pointing, “Between them two birch trees. See her?”
After a few moments, Sybil smiled brightly, “I do. She’s beautiful. You have a keen eye.”
Daryl shrugged, “maybe.”
“Do you spend a lot of time in the woods?”
“Quite a bit. How ‘bout ya?”
“I love nature, but no… I haven’t been camping since I was a kid.”
“Yer missin’ out.”
“I suppose I am.”
“C’mon, I wanna show y’ somethin’.”
“Okay.”
They continued casually down the trail until he veered off it, onto an unbeaten path.
“Okay, now I know you’re going to kill me,” she teased.
“C’mon,” he rolled his eyes. They came to some tall rocks, “Up f’ a lil’ climbin’?”
Hands on hips she looked up at the rocks, “Should I have worn hiking boots?”
“Naw… them shoes are fine.”
She looked down at her vans and was thankful she’d chosen them.
“Alright. Let’s go. Show me the way.”
“It ain’t gonna be as hard as it looks. Found an easy way to get up there.” He motioned for her to follow. He went around the right-hand side of the stone goliaths.
“See here,” he pointed in front of him and upward, “almost like someone made a trail in them rocks.”
“They look like they have stepping stones cut into them.”
He started up the incline, turning around every so often to make sure she was still behind him. She was eagerly bringing up the rear, keeping close.
“’s is the hard part,” he said, reaching for her hand, “lemme help y’ up the rest o’ the way.”
She took his hand and he pulled just enough to get her over the final ledge. She took a breath and looked down behind her whistling, “We are up high.”
He nodded, “Higher than it looks from down there.”
She noticed a singed area and a pile of wood.
“You come here often?”
He nodded, “’s m’ place t’ getaway. C’mere… an’ look.”
She joined him on the opposite side of the rocks and looked out. What a sight to behold. She could see the large lake in its entirety from this vantage point, and the multitude of trees on the other side. The sun was bright in the sky. She felt as if she could reach out and touch it. The rays warmed her face. She turned to look at Daryl. His blue eyes were studying her, gauging her reaction. The humongous smile on her face was enough for him. He was convinced that she was the most beautiful woman he’d ever laid eyes on.
Daryl rolled to his side and stared into the darkness inside the hay mound sighing. He didn’t sleep much, to begin with. And even less since the world fell. Thinking of her made it near impossible. He sat up while Dog rustled through the hay to rest his head in Daryl’s lap. He brusquely pet the dog's head. Dog whined. He’d been with Daryl so long that he could read his emotions.
“S’ alright, boy. ‘ll get through it. Always do.” He got to his feet, stretched, and said, “C’mon. ‘S go f’ a walk.” Daryl and Dog made their rounds, checking the sentinels on the wall, joining them for a bit to watch for walkers or marauders.
“You’re up early,” Cal commented, shaking out his foot that fell asleep.
Daryl shrugged, “Always am. Don’t need much sleep.”
“I don’t know how you do it, Dixon,” Cal continued.
Diane looked over at the two men, “Be thankful Daryl doesn’t sleep much. He’s saved a lot of our asses more than once because of it.”
Cal knew it was true and agreed, “Oh I know he has. It’s just when I manage to have some time to rest, I conk out. Sometimes for half a day.”
People meandered about as the sun rose, and Daryl found himself back to work at the cabins.
“You know, there’s always one of those here for you,” Jesus said, holding up a board to be nailed.
Daryl said, “Hate t’ take a place from someone else. I don’t mind the hay mound or a tent. ‘M easy.”
“So have you completely set down roots in Alexandria?”
Daryl shrugged, “Dunno if I set roots down anywhere.” The truth was the man had huge bouts of wanderlust and couldn’t sit still for too long before needing to be out in the wild again. He went with Aaron sometimes to look for more people to bring back to the communities. He brought messages from one community to the next. He also liked to provide food, go on scavenging runs; anything to keep himself busy.
People that knew him knew he was this way. They noticed a big change when Rick infamously blew up the bridge that was to connect everyone to save his people.
Daryl disappeared for three years. During his search for Rick, he met a woman by the name of Leah. No one knew about the affair he’d had with her except Carol. Dog had discovered an old house that seemed abandoned one day during their travels. But it wasn’t empty. That’s when he found an ornery woman living there that didn’t want him anywhere around her land. After about a year they began to talk, her more than him, and in a few more months they shared food. After that Daryl realized how lonely he was; one thing led to another and the two became involved. It didn’t last long. Daryl pulled away for several reasons: he wanted to continue looking for Rick, and he couldn’t allow himself to feel what he once felt for Sybil. When he was with Leah, she knew he was far away in his mind: thinking about his brother, and she had no idea what else. He couldn’t open up to her. That took years and trust. Something he knew he could never have with her. She put conditions on him and gave him ultimatums.
“It’s your brother or me.”
“It’s your family or me.” He was not a man who responded well to conditions. He wasn’t about to choose a woman that wanted all or nothing. So he walked away, never looking back.
Chapter 5: The Race
After two weeks of working on cabins, several were finished thanks to the hard labor everyone put in. Daryl wanted to reward them all with some venison, so he decided he’d head out before the light of day to hunt.
Dog stayed in step with Daryl as they silently made their way through the forest. He’d seen deer droppings which decided the direction they would go. Tell-tale signs of a foraging deer were seen everywhere if you were observant enough. Daryl was a master of tracking. He held his breath as soon as he saw the three-point, lifted his crossbow, aimed, and fired. The arrow hit its mark between the front shoulder and the ribcage, piercing the heart. The deer dropped where it stood, feeling no pain. Just the way Daryl liked it. No suffering.
He set to work right away field dressing the internal organs before he heard the groans of Walkers coming from the left.
“Shit,” he muttered, hefting the deer over his shoulders, “c’mon Dog,” he called, quickly making his exit. The organs would keep the few Walkers busy. At least enough for him to get safely away.
He returned at dusk with his prize, congratulated by many, and thanked personally by Maggie.
“Can’t have them people be veg’tarians,” Daryl teased, taking it to hang out back.
“Oh no, too many vegetables will make the people weak,” Maggie teased. Daryl eyed her between his curtains of bangs, a smirk on his face.
“They’ll appreciate it to be sure. We can do a lot with poultry and beef…”
“But there ain’t nothin’ like venison,” he cut in.
She nodded, “Right.”
They heard kids laughing and spotted Hershel and the other kids playing with Dog. Dog of course loved all the attention.
“Seems good to have them bein’ kids, huh?” Maggie asked, sighing. She had to dig deep to remember the days of misspent youth and no fear. Riding horses with her sister Beth, playing in the fields, and nights catching fireflies.
Daryl nodded as he shoved his bloodied hands into a basin of water, “Mhm… they ain’t had it so good, growin’ up too fast ‘cause t’ way t’ world turned out.” He dried his clean hands on a rag and watched the kids for a bit, a small smile on his face.
“Can’t catch me dog,” Marigold yelled out, her laugh echoing through the trees.
(August) ”You’ll never catch me, Daryl!” Sybil yelled, swimming faster out towards the floating dock in the middle of the lake. Daryl however was an experienced swimmer and was soon closing in on her. The thrill of the chase caused Sybil to start laughing and slowed her down in speed. Daryl slowed his pace, waiting for her to gain her wits and start moving faster again. Soon her hands were touching the dock.
“Damn, y’ got away,” he said, holding the edge of the dock with his hands. She splashed him playfully.
“I know you let me win.”
“Did no such thing.”
She giggled, “Okay… deny it all you want.” She caressed his damp cheek, “I’ll still give you your reward,” she moved closer and kissed his wet lips before pulling up onto the dock. Daryl could feel his stomach flip flop and his heart quicken in reaction to her affection. It was their first kiss. His cheeks reddened and he pulled up onto the dock next to her, their feet dangling in the water. He’d been pursuing her avidly for several months. His first thoughts of just wanting to bed the woman passed once he realized there was so much more to her than just a beautiful body. She had spunk, a clever mind, and kept him on his toes. He’d never met anyone like her before. Sybil seemed to enjoy her time with him, and this kiss just solidified what he was hoping for. He knew that other guys were trying to get her attention, he wasn’t blind. But the more she accepted offers of dates from him, the less concerned he became with them.
She laid back on the dock, the sun’s rays kissing her wet skin. Her hair spread out above her head like a dark halo. Her red one-piece showed plenty but left just the right amount covered to let the imagination run wild.
Daryl chewed his lip for a moment, “Sybil…”
“Mhm?” She hummed, shielding her eyes from the bright sky as she looked his way.
“’S a band playin’ at a bar next weekend. A local band… thought maybe y’all would like t’ go.”
“What kind of music?” she asked him curiously.
“Heavy stuff. Ain’t no room for country shit.”
She grinned, “You’ve got yourself a plus one then. I think it would be a lot of fun.” The idea of being squished in close to her was on his mind. He was still a man after all.
“Rememberin’ the good old days?” Maggie asked. Daryl stopped chewing his lip.
“Gonna go find somethin’ t’ do.”
Chapter 6: Scavenging Parts
“Hey, Daryl…” Jesus caught up with the archer after morning chores, “Eugene needs some parts for the solar panel he’s been working on and gave me directions to a place he thinks I can find those parts. Wanna ride with me, help me out?”
Daryl nodded as he finished brushing a horse down, “be ready in a few. Lemme finish up here.”
Jesus drove fast down the road. Daryl stared at the directions, “A bullfrog’s hop t’ the right of a… what t’ hell is this?” He asked, scratching his head.
Jesus laughed, “It’s directions. Eugene wrote them.”
“F’ fuck’s sake. Two leagues past the old maple tree… ‘s a million maple trees out here!” He threw the instructions on the dashboard. Jesus smirked, “Don’t kill me. I wrote those just to tease you.”
“You bastard,” Daryl huffed, but smiled in the end, “figures. Where’s them directions at?”
Jesus pulled a paper out of his front pocket, “Here.”
Daryl read them quickly, “’s more like it.”
When they rolled up to the old rusty warehouse, Jesus cut the engine and looked over the list Eugene had given him. Daryl got out and started scouting for Walkers, and anyone else who happened along the way. He and Jesus cleared out a small group of the dead before breaking the chain lock on the door to head inside. Pigeons flew in the disturbed air kicking up dust and dirt. The men covered their mouths, Daryl quickly pulling his rag from his back pocket. He tied it over the bottom half of his mouth.  Both were silent as the grave as they passed through the large building in search of any trespassers alive, or undead. Once they were certain it was empty, they set out to find each of the things Eugene wanted. It took longer than they expected since neither knew where to start. Searching boxes, and reading labels… they’d found two of the five things before dark.
“Looks like we’ll be staying the night,” Jesus huffed, wiping the dust from his hands onto his pants.
“Mhm,” Daryl lowered his backpack and brought out some salted dried venison, doling out some pieces to Jesus.
“Thanks,” Jesus said as they sat on the cold cement floor.
As they settled in for the night, Daryl volunteered to keep a watch out.
“T’morrow we hit them boxes upstairs. Can’t see shit now.”
“Agreed. I didn’t think this would be a two-day trip. I’ll just catch a few winks.”
(1 Year Later) “Sybil, get on over here, woman!” Daryl had called out over the heavy strains of guitar on the jukebox to his girl.
Sybil’s green eyes danced with merriment as she set her beer on the bar and made her way over to the young man who beckoned her. She laughed as he snaked his arms around her waist.
His nose brushed against her ear as he said, “Dance w’ me.” As if she was ever interested in dancing with someone else. She slid her palms flat against his chest as they moved to their own beat. It certainly didn’t match the fast drum solo in the Motorhead song. But finding their way to sway their bodies together had never been a problem. They began to sweat there under the hot lights, their friends milling around them. Some were dancing, others playing pool, and still, some just drinking and sharing conversation.
Daryl’s brother Merle was leaning on his old lady, licking salt from her neck as he downed another shot of tequila. He followed up with a lemon wedge from her cleavage as his loyal gang cheered him on.
“ ‘s get outta here,” Daryl said into Sybil’s ear, “ ‘s gonna get crazy t’night.”
“It’s well on its way,” she said, gripping his hand. They made a quick exit and soon were taking off on his bike. The wind whipped through Sybil’s untethered hair. The exhilaration from the cool air and the feel of her cheek against his back were enough to make Daryl giddy. He pulled up to her apartment and as he walked her to the door she stopped, key in her hand.
“We’ve been seeing each other for a while now,” she spoke up, her eyes staring into his, “and you’ve been good to me, Daryl. Come inside. I want you to stay the night.”
His jaw twitched. He’d been excited for this moment, he wouldn’t deny it. But now that it was here, he felt a sense of pride. He’d spent his time getting to know her. There was still so much to learn. And tonight would be another lesson in the ways of Sybil.
There was no small talk as her roommates were already in their respective rooms sleeping. He hadn’t been in the apartment at night unless there was a crowd of sorority sisters having a party. He and Sybil preferred being out of the house and hanging out with his gang often. She closed her room door there in the dark and turned on a dim lamp next to the bed.
She smiled at him, walking close, her hands caressing either side of his face as they began to kiss passionately. His palms rested on the flat of her back, rubbing slowly up and down as their mouths opened to explore like so many times before. It was more intense though, with pure need behind each tongue lashing and twisting together. A small groan lifted from his throat as she stepped back from him. They stared at one another, the soft glow from the light accentuating her features. The shadows delved into her curves and along the line of her legs.
“Help me out of this skirt, will you, Daryl?”
Daryl heard a noise that caught his attention. He went to investigate but seeing that it was a raccoon he shooed it away before walking the interior of the building alone. He placed a cigarette to his dry lips and lit it. Staring out one of the wide warehouse windows, he saw a few Walkers milling about near the truck. He puffed out some smoke and moved on toward the opposite end.
Sybil was more amazing than he could’ve imagined. Her body was perfection to him, and as she lifted on top of him, her hair swung down her back. He tangled his fingers into it before rubbing down around her ass while she ground her hips on top of him. He breathed as if through honey, labored, and sweet. As she rubbed his chest, a little pout curled on her lips as she neared the height of pleasure, calling out to him. He rolled her to her back, taking her breath away as he kept the rhythm up, bringing her to orgasm. He came in sync with her. He looked down at Sybil, the sweat beading on her forehead, their wet bodies sticking together, and he felt something he’d never felt before – fulfilled.
“Kiss me…” she gasped, still feeling the aftershocks of their lovemaking.
“Ain’t gotta ask, Syb…” He lowered his mouth onto hers, sucking her lips slowly, delightfully before withdrawing. He lay back, his chest still heaving as she lay her cheek upon it, listening to his fast heartbeat. He opened his legs, and she nestled her lower half between them, her stomach resting on his groin, not uncomfortable. He rubbed her saturated back, fingers slipping in the sweat, her hair pasted to her shoulders and his chest. Their bodies fit together like an intimate puzzle. Their hands locked together, fingers woven tight, his free hand cradling her. It was at that moment he knew his heart belonged to her.
When the first hint of light came through the windows, Jesus was up. He and Daryl searched the remainder of the building and found the rest of the items for Eugene by midday.
When they got outside, the Walkers from last night were still wandering around the truck, and seeing the two men, started lurching towards them.
“Dammit,” Jesus uttered while Daryl shot the closest in the head and then pulled his knives. Jesus round-housed one right in the skull, its rotted head exploding from the connection. Daryl took out two, a stab to the front of each temple, and Jesus took down the last one.
“ ‘ll drive,” Daryl said once everything was packed into the back of the pickup. Jesus tossed the keys to him. On the drive to Hilltop, Daryl was reliving those moments with Sybil still. Waking up with his legs wrapped around hers, her body still on his. He could almost feel her warmth, smell her perfume. He swerved almost hitting a Walker in the road. Jesus looked over at him, “Are you sure you’re up for driving?”
“Yeah, ‘m fine.” He sped up to get past the gathering herd quickly leaving them in the dust.
Eugene was pleased as he met the men getting out of the pickup.
“Did y’all find everything?” he asked as he pulled back the tarp over the parts. He went over the list and marked each item off, “Well done, you guys. I know these doodads don’t look like much, but when I get ‘em all put together, we’ll have some fine additions to those cabins y’all been working so hard on. Electricity! Creature comforts.”
“Glad we could help,” Jesus said as he and Daryl unloaded.
“Did you meet up with any trouble?” Maggie asked as she picked up a small box from the back.
“Naw,” Daryl responded.
“Nothing we couldn’t handle,” Jesus added.
( 1 Month Later) Carver College
Daryl spotted Sybil and her friends in the throes of students in the cafeteria. She’d been pouring over textbooks for a test coming up in English Lit class. He breathed hot air on the back of her neck, “Hey babe.”
She smiled as she whispered, “Daryl…”
Mandy sniggered, “You two are something else.”
Daryl kissed Sybil lightly and slid into the chair next to her.
“Where have you been?” She asked in a hushed tone. She hadn’t seen him in four days. No explanations, no phone calls, “I was worried about you. I thought something might have happened to you!”
“Naw, no need t’ worry. ‘M here now.” He rubbed her hand slowly.
She picked up her books and excused herself from her circle of friends. Daryl grabbed them to carry for her. Once they were outside she turned to him, “Where have you been?” She asked him again, “You just disappeared.”
“I had t’ go outta town w’ Merle.”
“To do what?” She asked curiously.
He shrugged, “Just some odd errands, ain’t no big deal.”
“Daryl, it’s a big deal when you’re dating someone, and you just disappear. What if something happened to you?”
“Syb… don’t need t’ keep tabs on me. Ain’t nothin’ gonna happen t’ me.”
She frowned, “I’m not keeping tabs. Why are you keeping secrets?”
Chapter 7: Unavailable
The deer was finally ready to process. Many offered to help him, but he kindly rejected those offers. He wanted to work alone and get things off his mind. His memories were flooding in and he couldn’t build the dam fast enough to keep them at bay. It was close to the time of year when he first met Sybil. Even though people referred to parts of the year by the period of Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, Daryl knew it was around June. He felt it in his heart, and thoughts of Sybil were at their pinnacle. He sharpened his knife on a whetstone til the blade could slice easily through the meat, and as he removed the hide, he halted suddenly.
(6 Months Later) Sybil looked up from the bed, “Where are you going, hot stuff?”
He zipped his jeans, “gotta go outta town f’ a few days.”
She sat up, slipping on one of his t-shirts, “where? You never say.”
“Nothin’ y’ need t’ worry y’self over, Syb.” He rubbed her shoulders slowly, “Y’ won’t even have time t’ miss me.” He kissed her lips.
“Your brother is a troublemaker. Why do I have the feeling you two get up to no good when you’re gone?”
He shook out his head and started working the hide again, bound to have the hide salted and stretched before dinner. His workworn hands rubbed the salt into the thin layer of skin remaining, and as he was stretching it, he could smell dinner. His stomach rumbled.  He covered the meat with an old tarp and went to join the others.
That night he sat by the campfire longer than most. The dog was sleeping by his foot, basking in the heat from the flames.
(One Year Later)  Daryl knew it was late. It was nearly one. He’d been out fucking around with his gang, causing a ruckus, getting into a fight with another gang, and then Merle suggested they all go out for drinks. Daryl had a few and lost track of time.
“Shit, I gotta go!” He told his brother.
“What? Why?”
“’S Sybil’s birthday. ‘M late.”
“You’re so whipped. Hell, she’ll have another one next year.”
“That ain’t the point!” He said goodbye to his friends and rushed out to his bike. When he got to Sybil’s apartment, he could see the windows were dark. He pulled the present he had messily wrapped out of his saddle bag and went up to the second floor. He knocked on the door, and Theresa answered.
“What are you doing here, Daryl? Don’t you know how to tell time?”
“Jus’ wanna see Syb… don’t need y’all givin’ m’ a hard time. Lemme in.”
“Why don’t you just go and try to make amends tomorrow? You’re on her shit list you know.”
“Who’s at the door?” Sybil called out behind her. Daryl looked over Theresa’s shoulder and saw Sybil tying up her silky robe.
“Syb… ‘s me. I wanna come in.”
“I’ve got this Theresa…”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah, you go on back to bed.”
Daryl ducked his head in shame, “Happy Birthday.” He held out the gift. Sybil’s hands were on her hips.
“Kind of late for that. My birthday was yesterday. It’s nearly two. What happened?”
“Got caught up w’ the boys. I lost track o’ time s’ all.”
“Oh, that’s all huh? My birthday didn’t matter much to you then, did it?”
“That ain’t true.”
“Sure it is. If you cared, you’d have been on time. You get with those guys and forget everything.” She pulled him into the room, and looked at him in the light, “And what the hell happened to your chin?”
Daryl instinctively touched his jaw. He must’ve gotten a bruise from the fight.
“You’ve been fighting again?”
“Weren’t much o’ a fight,” he half–laughed, “We got ‘em good.”
She stared at him angrily, “I can’t believe you’re missing the point here.” She wiped tears from her eyes, “I don’t think this is going to work out.”
“What? Y’ breakin’ up w’ me?!”
“Yes, I am.”
“Because m’ late f’ y’ birthday?”
“You just don’t get it. You didn’t show up. You didn’t call. And when you finally do show up you don’t feel one inch of remorse for it all.”
“Said I was sorry, Syb. Don’t be like that.”
“No, you didn’t apologize. You bragged about a fight. I don’t want to be a part of this. I expect more from the man I care about.”
He wiped his eyes, blaming the smoke from the fire, and decided it was time to head back to Alexandria. He’d leave as soon as he finished preparing the meat for Hilltop.
Chapter 8: Camping
Daryl waited a couple weeks for Sybil to cool off after their split.
“You’re better off without her baby brother. Now you ain’t tied down to one woman, you can date any y’all want.”
“Don’t wanna date anyone else. I want Sybil,” he muttered, wiping his greasy hands on a rag. He turned over the engine on his bike, bringing it back to life after its tune-up.
“Well she don’t want nothin’ to do with your sorry ass. She thinks she’s too good for ya! There’s plenty of other bitches that are interested in ya.”
“She ain’t a bitch, Merle. She’s different than them other girls.”
“Ooh, are you in love, pussy?”
“Why am I tellin’ y’ anythin’?” He put his tools away, and said, “Goin’ out f’ a bit.”
“Go on then, run back to that highfalutin’ uptown bitch. She must have some sugar ‘tween her legs to keep ya comin’ back to her.”
He showed up at Save A Lot where Sybil worked. She wasn’t at the cash register, but he found her stocking shelves as he searched the aisles.
“Hey Syb…” he said as he approached. She stopped marking canned goods with the pricing gun and looked in his direction.
“What are you doing here?”
“Came t’ apologize. M’ sorry I was such a dick.”
“Are you? Because I have the feeling that the sort of thing that got you in trouble with me in the first place is going to keep happening.”
“Naw… it ain’t. What can I do t’ make y’ change y’ mind?”
She huffed, “You need to stop fighting. I knew full well you were in a gang when I met you. But I don’t think I realized what that entailed.”
He reached out and touched one of her curls, wrapping it around his finger, “I can stop fightin’.”
“Yeah, right,” She rolled her eyes.
“I can,” he insisted.
“Prove it.”
“I will. Supposed t’ be a lil’ somethin’ on Friday. ‘ll come an’ see y’all instead. Maybe I can help you study…” he leaned his arm against the shelf, keeping close to her, “what d’ ya say?”
“Give me a week to think things over. Stay out of trouble until then. I refuse to have a boyfriend that will probably end up in jail. You’re better than that.”
He screeched to a halt on his bike. Right in the middle of the road.
“Can’t go back to Alexandria.” He felt a tightness in his chest, “Just can’t. C’mon.” He veered off the road and pushed his bike into some bramble to hide it.
He and Dog made their way deep into the forest around them. He knew the area well. He retreated towards a long winding river that cut through a clearing and set up a little lean-to between two trees and dug out a hole for a campfire. He set up a perimeter and fashioned a spear from a sturdy branch to go fishing. He and Dog ate a fine catch of fish for dinner.
He lay back against a log and stared up through the tree branches as the stars peeked into the holes between the leaves.
Three months later, they were back together. It took him that long to convince Sybil that he was staying out of trouble. He hung with the gang but skipped out when any brouhahas took place. His brother and friends didn’t let him live it down. He took the brunt of their brutal teasing, keeping his focus on what he really wanted, Sybil.
He watched as Sybil tried to figure out the instructions to the tent she’d brought on their first camping trip. It was early Autumn, and the weather was still pretty warm. He snorted, “Don’t need that booklet. Didn’t need no fancy tent neither.”
“I wanted it to be special,” she huffed, “and I can’t make heads or tails of any of this.”
He walked over, grabbed the instructions, and tossed them in the fire.
“Hey!” She laughed, “How do you expect to set up this tent then?”
He set to work, “Syb… pull them ropes your way.” He handed her a spike, “Stick ‘em in the ground…”
He pulled the other side and did the same. He put together the supports inside, assembling the tent in no time. She smiled proudly as she looked at the results.
“I knew you were good for something,” she teased, messing with his short hair.
That night after hot and heavy lovemaking, they went skinny dipping in the river not far from their setup. She shone under the moonlight, her body dancing with the beads of water dripping down her shoulders, over her breasts, and into the water at her waist. Daryl joined her and as they made out she said, “I could stay here forever.”
How he wished he had.
Chapter 9: The Thick of the Woods
Daryl spent weeks wandering the woods. He’d become so silent, he didn’t even need to call Dog, Dog just knew when to come. He’d gone a longer distance with each day, following the river downstream. He’d passed some small makeshift cabins and checked them out. Even spent some nights in one or two of them. He fought Walkers. Trudged through a downpour. Played with Dog in different clearings they happened upon. They lived off fish, rabbits, squirrels, wild yams, and leeks.
(2 Years Later) Sybil and Daryl got an apartment together. They’d been together for well over four years, and things just fell into place. They were happy, content with life. She was in her fourth year of college, she wanted to be a teacher, and Daryl was working for a local garage fixing just about anything with a motor.
“C’mon Syb… y’all get that cute ass in here. ‘ll help y’ study.” Daryl wanted to be as supportive to Sybil as he could. Even when he didn’t understand what he was quizzing her on, he felt proud of his girl for being so smart.
“If I don’t know it by now, I’m never going to know it.”
“C’mon ‘s the hard stuff, Early Childhood Development,” He held up the book, “We’re gonna go over t’ ones highlighted. Y’all got the rest down pat.”
“Okay, okay,” She threw her hands up in the air.
“Listen… ‘s somethin’ y’ really want, right?”
“Yes,” she answered, her eyes locking with his.
“Then y’ gotta put the time in. ‘S been four long years, but ‘s almost over. Don’t give up.” He squeezed her hand gently as he leaned in to kiss her.
“What would I do without you?” She asked, rubbing his scruffy cheek.
“Fail t’ damn test,” he teased, wiggling his eyebrows. They both laughed, “Right. Question one…”
He smiled at the thought, on how she graduated in the top five of her class. He’d liked to have thought he was part of the reason for that, if she wasn’t so smart to begin with. Still, it was some of his favorite time back then, watching her mind work, the way she’d bite her tongue and look at the ceiling while she thought about her answers, and how she loved to be rewarded with kisses.
One evening, just before dusk he heard a scream. Another voice was yelling, “Over here… this way!”
Heavy footfalls, groaning, and growling. Walkers. He followed the sounds and before crashing through the brush, he surveyed the situation. About ten Walkers were surrounding a couple of women and a man. They were fighting the Walkers pretty well, but there were too many. Daryl aimed his crossbow, clipping one Walker in the head about to bite the man’s shoulder. He fell to the ground. Unsure of what happened, the people continued to fight. He unsheathed his two knives, broke through the brush, and took two out, slicing another at the knees. One of the women brought down a knife into its brain. The other woman shoved a Walker into a tree and split its head with a machete. Three more to go. The man was backing up, looking to see if there were any more, turned around, and got one mere moment from attacking him. Daryl wiped the blades on his filthy pants and looked at the people quickly.
“Thank you,” one of the women breathed, “I don’t know if we could’ve made it without your help. Imagine finding another living soul in the woods.”
Daryl nodded as Dog sniffed around for any other threats. The woman with the cleaver was kneeling, cleaning her blade on one of the Walker’s shirts.
“Yes, thank you.” She stood up and turned to face the man, “we wouldn’t have made it.” She brushed an arm across her grimy face and said, “Do we look as bad as you do?” She smiled at the light joke. Daryl did a double-take. He squinted his eyes and studied the woman closely. She wasn’t anything to look at from first glance being road worn and ragged. But he saw those mystifying green eyes he’d never forget.
“S… Sybil?” His voice broke from being quiet for so long. It sounded foreign to him.
“How do you know my name?” She asked, eyeing the stranger. He was caked in mud, grungy from head to toe, long filthy hair pasted to his dirtied face.
“’S me…” was all he could muster taking a step closer. The woman looked deeply into the man’s eyes.
“Syb… ‘s Daryl…” he patted his chest.
“Daryl?” Her eyes widened. With sharp analysis, she determined that under that mess was the man from her past when everything was right in the world. Her throat closed as she stood stone still. The air was so thick, no one spoke, but everyone was bewildered that Sybil could find someone in the middle of nowhere that knew her.
There was movement behind her and a voice, “Mom? Is it safe to come out?”

Falling into the Fandom
Your work week has been crazier than normal.   The last few years had been intense, with budget cuts your department of 10 has dwindled down to 6, but the work was divided out and you were all making due. But now, with James on vacation and Julia on maternity leave, there wasn’t much time to breathe.
This is the monotony that had become your life, go to work, take a short lunch break so that you have something in your system besides coffee, then head home late, leaving a pile of work for the next day, grab some take out on your way home just to repeat it again the following day.  Thankfully, having to work on the weekends was not part of your humdrum existence, so you tried your best to have at least an entire day of something just for you.
Occasionally meeting friends for brunch with bottomless mimosas, but usually binge watching your favorite TV or movie series.  That was until you were scrolling through social media and caught a notification for Comic Con coming near you next month.
You didn’t usually attend these events, the cost usually rather intimidating, but this time you decided to at least see who might be there.  Clicking on the link you were shocked to see the wide range of appearances from nearly every series you followed.
There were actors from Supernatural, Stranger Things, Marvel, DC comics, Walking Dean, Criminal Minds, Chicago Fire, 911, The Boys, Top Gun, The Wicther, Last of Us, Star Wars, and the list just kept going.   The more you looked the more excited you got about the idea of spending a long weekend at the cheapest hotel you could find and getting to meet as many of your celebrity crushes as you could.
Now that you think about it, it wasn’t just the actors you had a crush on, the characters were a bigger part of your life than the people you actually spoke to on a daily basis.  Before you went to sleep that night you had your weekend booked, you were excited to say the least and you had something fun to look forward to while you dredged through the next month of her normal routine.
The only difference this month was that weekly activities were as frugal as possible, planning on spending more of your weekly budget on meet and greets and photo ops with as many celebs and characters you could fit into the weekend at Comic Con.
Packing up everything you needed for the long weekend, the only thing left to do was make sure your brother would be checking in on your cat before the 2 hour drive to the convention center to check out the vendors before the weekend began.   To say you were excited when you finally hit the road was an understatement, this weekend would hopefully be the highlight of your year and bring some true joy back into your life.

Happiness At The End Of The World
Daryl Dixon x Fem! Reader • Road/Prison • Fluff
A/N: First time writing for TWD. Excuse any mistakes please! I’ve never written for Daryl before, so I’m sorry if he’s out of character or anything like that. This was just for fun, but would anyone be interested in sending requests? Let me know and maybe I’ll write some more.
Tumblr media
You didn't know being truly scared until after the end of the world. Until now.
Lori held Carl to her closely. Her ever growing belly was sticking out of the thick blanket she had herself and Carl cuddled under a little. Rick was off taking watch, he had grown distant and cold, but who can blame him.
Everyone else was supposed to be sleeping, but from the freezing cold, you're positive no one is, just laying there with their eyes closed and hoping that was enough.
This winter was bitter and freezing. Being out in the elements most nights certainly didn't help. Sometimes your group would find a cabin or warehouse to hole up in, but walkers usually took that from you quickly. The cold meant most animals were gone, causing walkers to wonder deeper into the forest looking for food. Nowhere was safe.
You roll over on the hard ground. You couldn't stand to look at Lori and her son any longer. She wasn't going to make it much longer, everybody knew. As her belly grew, her face just got slimmer and slimmer. The thought of the poor woman having to give birth out here terrified you. You shivered a bit at the thought.
A blanket being thrown over you startled you. You looked up to find Daryl looking back, fixing the blanket so it covered your back.
"You're shiverin'," he whispers. You sit up a little.
"Everyone's cold. I'm ok, take your blanket back." You go to take it up but Daryl pushes your arms down.
"I'm goin' to take over for Rick anyway. Keep it." He walks away with that. You settle down again. Daryl was probably the kindest, most selfless people you had ever met, even if he could be a little... surly.
He cared through actions, not words. This wasn't the first time he had given you his blanket, although you argued a little every time. He was also the first one to give up his food portions if he thought Lori or Carl didn't have enough, or give Beth his gloves if her hands trembled too much. He always put others before himself.
It was what made you fall in love with him in the first place.
Ever since the first time you saw him, you knew he wasn't what everyone else thought he was. You were one of the first at the quarry camp, having been picked up by Glenn during a run to the city. Daryl came after with his loudmouth of an older brother.
Daryl was a hothead then, too caught up in what his brother wanted him to be, but you always knew there was something else there. Especially with the way he always provided fresh meat for the group, or was the first to volunteer for night watches so others could sleep.
And then with Sofia, always looking for that little girl. He never lost hope for her. Even if it didn't go how everyone wanted it to, it gave Carol hope, which was what she really needed then.
Daryl had grown a lot since then, since being on the road after you lost the farm. He became your best friend and someone everyone relied on. Your provider and hunter. It was a no brainer why you fell in love with the man.
The next morning everyone was up and moving again. You were hoping to find some roofed shelter. Lori was maybe 6 months along now. She was getting bigger and couldn’t keep up as well anymore. You needed to hunker down.
Luckily, the group had found some fuel for the cars. Hopefully you could get a little farther this way and find a good place to hole up for a while.
But before you left, you went with Daryl to check the woods one last time. A few squirrels or even a rabbit could go a long way right now. You followed him with quiet footsteps, he had his crossbow in front of him.
He suddenly stopped, so suddenly you almost plowed into his back. He turned around to face you and shook his head.
"Nothin' out here, might at well head back. We're just burning daylight," he said, angry at himself. You nodded and tried to give a small, reassuring smile, but you were sure it wasn't convincing. He didn't say anything, but he grabbing your arm lightly to lead you back to where everyone was waiting by the road. You're used to the casual contact by now, but you still appreciated it.
"You think we'll find somewhere?" You suddenly ask, voicing your worries. You always did around Daryl. "Somewhere for Lori to have her baby."
"Mhm hm." He nods and bites the inside of his mouth like he always did. "We gotta."
     Simple as that.
Luckily, Rick had found a little cabin in the woods later that day. There were no windows, just boarded up wood planks, but they did an ok job at keeping most cold out. The fire was nice too.
Daryl was sitting on the steps keeping watch and you decided to join him. It had been a bit since you two had been together and talked, and you missed it. Missed his smile and how he blushed when you and Carol teased him. Everyone had been so stressed by the barren winter and Lori, the three of you didn't joke anymore.
"Hey," you said as the dropped next to him. He nodded as he took a drag from his cigarette. "Those will kill you ya know." You smiled at him. "I might just hide them from you."
He just shrugged, didn't smile either. He must've noticed your crestfallen expression because he gave you a lousy half smile afterwords. It didn't meet his eyes, so you didn't try to make him laugh again.
"Well you were right. We found somewhere." He scoffed.
"Not much of a place." He took one last drag and finally put out the cigarette, it was just filter now.
"It's enough. Has a roof, nice fire." You shrugged and rested your head on your knees, trying to stifle a yawn. He'd make you go inside if he knew you were tired, and you just wanted to be with him.
"Why ain't you inside then?" You shrugged and gave him the brightest smile you could muster up in your exhausted state.
"And miss all the fun out here with you? Never!" He just shook his head but he let a little smile crack this time. Your grin got larger at the sight. He nudged you with his shoulder. You went to nudge him back but instead of pulling away, you melted against his arm. He tensed a second but relaxed quickly.
"Falling asleep on me?" Daryl asked lowly.
"No..." you mumble, eyes slipping closed. The last thing you feel before slipping into unconsciousness was fingers lightly smoothing down your hair.
You woke up slowly from sunlight in your face and nearly forgot where you were. You were warm and cozy and almost didn't move, until you realized you were in Daryl's lap. You got up with a start, blushing and embarrassed.
"Daryl, you should've woke me up! God, i slept on you all night?" He nodded and his own checks were a little pink. He was biting his thumb.
"You haven't been sleepin..." he said with a shrug. Your face darkened even more. He could be so damn cute without even knowing it. Being so caring and sweet like that.
     "You neither, no one has."
"You looked comfortable... didn't wanna move you." He got up with a groan and outstretched a hand to help you. You grabbed it and smiled. "'sides, kept me pretty warm."
You giggled a little and he dropped his head with a embarrassed smile. You turned your head to the sound of movement inside. Daryl's cheeks were still a little red when you looked back at him, but he tilted his head towards the door.
"We better get inside before little Shane eats our breakfast." You smack him lightly on the shoulder and shake your head at him, but a smile cracks anyway. You missed this.
It was another painful couple months before you found the prison. It looked like a castle now, a safe haven, protected from walkers with two rows of those beautiful tall fences. It took one afternoon to block off a section of the courtyard, and you were ecstatic. Everyone was grinning. This was the most room everyone had in months to roam free.
The fire in front of you was warm and nice. It was cool tonight, comfortable after the hot and sweaty day. Carol had gone to bring Daryl some food because as she'd said, he wouldn't eat if not bothered. They were standing on top of a bus not far, you can see them laughing and chatting together. You smiled a little just watching, Daryl seemed a little lighter.
They came back soon after to Beth and Maggie singing. Daryl dropped himself next to you and Carol sat down not far. You clapped a little and smiled at the girls when they finished. Beth smiled a little bashfully at you while Maggie cuddled up to Glenn.
You leaned up against Daryl a little, watching Rick do laps around as Hershel mentioned that he would've found a breach by now. Lori went to talk to him. Daryl was fiddling with a loose string on the seam of your shirt.
"You gonna fall asleep on me again?" He asks teasingly. You turn your head to face him and stick your tongue out a little. Your face falls when you notice just how close both your faces are. You turn away again and Carol catches your eye. She looks between the two of you quickly and widens her eyes in a 'do something!' manner.
Daryl continues to play with the string, but he seems extra distracted, like he also was taken aback by the proximity. Maybe it was your imagination, you're pretty positive Daryl doesn't feel how you do, and that's ok.
Your friendship was something you didn't want to risk, ever, even if both Carol and Maggie and even Beth at one point had tried to convince you to make a move.
“Daryl is too shy to make the first move, it's up to you!" Carol's voice rings in your head.
"He's in love with you, Y/N. You just can't see it," Maggie had said before.
But Daryl was too important to risk. A confession would either push him away from you or he'd play along not to hurt you or make things awkward. Neither sounded good. Your relationship with him was good as is, even if you wished some nights it was more.
     "You good?" Daryl asks.
     "Huh? Yeah, why?"
"Looked lost in thought is all." He shrugs and leans back against the grass, causing you to fall back next to him. Most others were ready to sleep too, other than Rick who was taking watch.
     "Just... thinking."
"'Bout what?" It took you a second to think of something to say. You couldn't exactly say, 'oh just about how I'm in love with you and how everyone is convinced you love me too. Nothing much.'
"If we could be safe here." Daryl nods and pats your hand that was resting between you both. The contact wasn't anything new, but with your mind thinking what it was, it sent a spark to your heart.
"We'll make it safe," he says finally.
The next day is full of killing more walkers to empty out a cellblock. The thought of sleeping in a cell might have made you dizzy before the end of the world, but now it was the equivalent of a five star hotel. Safe and sound and away from walkers. It helped that you tried to forget it was a cell and thought of it more as just a room, just four walls.
You dropped your bags down on the cell floor. It had blood smeared on the wall but the bed seemed clean... enough. It was right across from the catwalk, which Daryl claimed. It seemed he didn't think of the cells like you, instead refusing to 'sleep in a cage,' as he said.
That night was more uncomfortable than you thought it'd be. You had grown used to having your group, who you considered family now, always in eye sight of you. It was strange not to have them all around you. It was crazy, they were in the same cellblock, but it made your skin crawl anyway. You had grown used to felling the familiar presence of theirs around you as you slept.
If you leaned off your bed slightly and peaked out your door, you could just barely see Daryl's feet sticking out of his blanket. He was tossing and turning. Maybe he had the same problem?
You crept out of the bed and made your way outside your cell. Daryl was staring at the ceiling and fiddling with an arrow, or bolt as he'd corrected you with a snap back at the quarry.
"Can't sleep?" You whispered lowly. He shakes his head.
"You neither?"
"No..." You rub your hands on your arms, trying to fight the chill going through you.
"You ok?" Daryl asks with a worried look on his face. He sits up and pats the bed next to him, and you quickly sit down.
"Yeah... it's nothing. It's stupid," you reprimand yourself. It was a little ridiculous that you couldn't sleep in your own cell, like a child. Hell, even Carl was ok in his cell.
"C'mon," Daryl prods and bumps his shoulder to yours. "Tell me."
"I guess I'm just lonely in there... I got used to having you and everyone around me." You shake your head and close your eyes in embarrassment. "I'm bothering you, this is so stupid. I'm sorry, get some sleep, Daryl."
You go to stand but Daryl is quicker, grabbing your arm lightly to stop you. You slowly sit back and see his face is reddened.
"Just... stop," he says quietly with red cheeks. "Ain't bothering me, you could never bother me. I care 'bout you. And you ain't stupid either, don't say that shit."
He looked like he wanted nothing more than the earth to swallow him, but he pushed through. Your face was just as red as his now. Daryl was a man of few words and didn't often say out loud how he felt for others. He just acted. So the sudden declaration surprised you.
"Ok..." you utter. You weren't too sure what to say, this is pretty much the most open he had been with you. "Sorry."
"Jesus don't apologize, just..." He stops and bites his lip, fumbling his hands together. "I don't know what I'm doin.'"
"What do you mean?" You ask with furrowed brows. Daryl looks at you, face flushed and trembling hands. "Daryl?"
"I fucking love you, alright?" He scoffs and looks away. "So... you ain't bothering me talking to me."
You're speechless. You just stare at him slack jawed and in shock. Daryl obviously takes your stunned silence as rejection, and gets up abruptly.
"Daryl, I—"
"Forget it," he mumbled and takes the steps two at a time to escape from you. You recover from your shock after a minute and stagger up, scurrying down the stairs to try and catch the man.
You look around outside, trying to find him in the pitch black. Finally, you spot him leaning against the railing of one of watch towers. You admire him for a second trying to figure out what you'd say once you get to him. You hesitantly walk up to the watch tower, climb the stairs and soon your staring at his angel wings.
You takes slow steps until your standing beside him. You don't say anything for a second, just stare out at the trees next to him. He's smoking but you can see his hands are shaky and he shifts his weight from foot to foot awkwardly.
"You don't gotta say anything. It's fine, just forget it," Daryl mumbles. You're a little surprised he broke the silence first, but it's welcome.
"I don't want to forget it," you say. Daryl glances at you shyly. "Can you look at me, please?"
Daryl does so, his eyes dancing all across your face anxiously. The muscles in his jaw are tense and clench with nerves. You slowly move a hand to rest one on his cheek. He watches closely, eyes bouncing from your face to you hand, but he let's you.
You stroke his face, along his stubble before brushing his hair aside a little. It's longer than when you met him, overgrown and in need of a trim. You smile at him softly.
"I love you, too," you murmur to him. "And i would've told you that if you didn't run away from me so fast."
He looks down guiltily, but you just smile and turn his head to meet your eyes again. His pupils are blown, cheeks flushed, and lips are parted. He's never looked as beautiful as he does right now.
"Can I kiss you?" You ask. He doesn't answer, but leans down to meet you halfway. His kiss is light at first, but you both melt together and soon it's hard to tell when you end and he begins. His hands are hesitant at first when they grab at your waist, but soon he's more confident. Pulling you closer and closer to him, pushing his lips to you harder.
You meet him every step of the way. Gripping at his hair and back of his neck, pulling at him so he doesn't let you go. Your back is pressed against the cold railing now, but you barely even register it.
The mind blowing kiss ends all too soon. You follow his lips for once last peck when he pulls away. He smiles and caresses your check ever so softly.
"I love you," you say to him again with a grin. He smiles timidly and dips his head down shyly to your neck. He nuzzles into your shoulder, placing little hesitant kisses to your neck and collarbone. You giggle and play with his hair, giving the top of his head some kisses of your own.
"Oh god damn it." A sudden voice from the watch tower makes Daryl just about jump away from you. You look wildly inside the tower to see Maggie. In your bliss, neither you or Daryl heard her come up. Daryl's face is bright red like a tomato, and you're sure you aren't better.
"Maggie! We uh, didn't hear you..." you say awkwardly. She has her arms crossed and tries to look mad, but her face is breaking out slowly into a grin. "So... what's up?"
Daryl beside you isn't doing better, wringing his hands and looking anywhere but Maggie. His hair is tousled around from your roaming hands and you bite your lip to stop you from curling into yourself in embarrassment. You can't believe you didn't hear Maggie coming up and she caught you like that...
"I lost a damn bet with Carol! I said it's be after the baby comes when you two would finally get together!" She shakes her head and fakes an angered sigh. "Anyway, I heard you two leave and wanted to make sure you were ok. You'd been gone a while."
Maggie's grin could rival the Cheshire cat's. She rises her brows up and down suggestively. You cover your face with your hands and she laughs.
Finally, Daryl, having recovered from his embarrassment quicker than you, grabs your hand and takes it off your face. He gives you a hard and sloppy kiss on the cheek and begins to lead you to the door of the watchtower.
"Better pay up with Carol then," he says and just about pushes you out the door hastily. You hear Maggie's near manic laughter behind you as you let Daryl's tugging hand lead you back to your cell.
Maybe the end of the world wasn't all bad.

Hazel Dixon's story
When Hazel was separated from her family in the beginning, she didn't panicked, and while she searched for her family, she survived on her own. When a larger horde overran her camp, she was forced to move on. She often went hunting with her father and uncle, and they had some familiar hunting spots, so she headed towards the quarry, but instead of her family, she came across a group of strangers. She had no idea that her family was also closer than she thought.
"Get your guns out of my face." I said in an irritated, but calm voice. The man in front of me lowered his rifle, and nodded the others to do the same.
"She's just a girl." Someone said, it was a woman with long, brown hair, a boy behind her back. This is just great, the quarry was full of people. A whole camp. I lowered my gun too, but didn't put it away yet. "You on your own?"
"Yeah. My old man and I used to camp here, the place has a lake, the forest is good for hunting so I thought of coming here. Guess it's not just my place any longer."
"You can stay, if you want, I'm Shane Walsh. She is Lori." The guy with the rifle introduced himself, and the woman with the little boy.
"Hazel." A put away my gun, and the boy came a little forward.
"Hi, I'm Carl." I just nodded, and went after the others toward their camp. Soon more people come and introduce themself. The first was Dale, an older man with a hat, he seemed nice, then a young asian guy, Glenn, and a black man, named T-dog. I scoffed a little, what name is T-dog anyway?
There was two blond girl, they were sisters, Andrea the older, and Amy the younger. She seemed to in my age, or close enough. She was who asked how old I am.
"Sixteen in this year. You?"
"Twenty-three. I thought you are older, carrying that gun and knives." She grinned, and I tapped my gun on my waist.
"It's a beauty, my dad gave it to me for my twelve birthday." For that, everyone went quiet. I looked around, raising my eyebrow. "What?"
"Your dad gave you a gun when you were twelve?" Lori asked, concern in her voice.
"Well, it comes in handy nowadays, does it?"
"You said you and your dad come here often to camp?" Dale asked while we all sat down around the campfire, the heat felt nice on my skin. A lifted my gaze from the fire toward Dale.
"Yeah, we came here for hunting every now and then. We were separated when this shit happened, so I thought it was not a bad idea to come here, maybe run into my family. What about ya guys? Ya all came from Atlanta?"
"Most of us yes, or on the road when they bombed the city." Lori said, and I nodded.
"I was in the forest, but I saw the bombing too. It scared away my game." I huffed, still annoyed with the memory. Some smiled at my statement, and my lip twitched upward a little too.
"What about your mum?" Carl asked, and his mother hissed.
"Carl, it's rude to ask something like that."
"Nah, it's cool." I shrugged my shoulder. "My mom left me when I was born, my dad raised me. When I was older, I went to see her, but she had a husband and new kids, and says she doesn't want anything to do with me. My old man can be an asshole sometimes, but he has a soft spot for those he loves."
"So it was just the two of you?" Amy asked, and I smiled.
"My uncle helped my dad a lot, he's more like a brother to me." Amy leaned closer to Andrea, resting her head on her sister's shoulder, and I felt a pang of sadness.
"I lost my dad too, he was a cop and get shot before this. So it's just my mum, me, and Sahne now." Carl must see the sadness on my face, and I hated to be this vulnerable.
"My dad is alive, the toughest son of a bitch I know." Carl's smile faded a little, but I don't care. I needed the believe that my family is still alive. After that, everyone started talking about something else, and I left to do my tent. The others seemed nice, but I liked to be on my own, but still, having people to watch my back doesn't sound too bad.
<~~~~~~>
In the morning, I was up a little later than usual, maybe because I don't have to look behind my shoulders all the time for walkers.
"Hey, you up? Wanna come with us to the lake? We doing laundry." Amy asked, nodding toward the other women in camp. I grimaced, patting my gun."
"Nah, I'm going hunting, see if I can catch something."
"All alone?" Lori asked, and I just smirked.
"Doing laundry it's not my thing, ladies." I laughed seeing their faces, and I went on my own, toward the forest.
It was late afternoon when I came back, five squirrels on my shoulder, and three rabbits on the other. The others were around the fire, so I joined them, sitting down on a log which was a little further than the others. I started gutting and skinning the first rabbit.
"Well, she was not kidding, when she said she can hunt." Glenn said, and I looked up, a little smirk on my face.
"I was not bullshitting." I wiped the back of my hand on my jeans and keep continuing. The smell of grilled rabbit filled the air, and my stomach started to growl. "Man, I can't wait to eat something."
"We offered to you can eat some canned food, but you said you rather starve."
"It was worth the waiting, look at that, all fresh and tasty." Soon I was munching on my rabbit, the other two still roasting. I offered it to the others, Amy just grimaced, her loss, but Glenn and Dale have taken the opportunity to eat something that is not canned bean or god knows what else.
"You know, there are another two hunters in the camp, they went hunting before you showed up." I looked up at Glenn curiously.
"Yeah? Cool, it would be good to go hunting with someone else, not just myself."
"They are assholes. Two rednecks, always keeping their distance from us." My heart stopped for a moment when I looked at Shane. Could it be...?
"Oh yeah, you best keep away from them, the Dixons are assholes." T-Dog kept talking, but my mind was on his last words. Dixons...
"You oke? You paled for a moment." Amy asked with a little concern, and I nodded. Jesus, Hazel, pull yourself together.
"Yeah, I'm just tired, that's all. Good nigh'." I went into my tent, holding my hunting knife in my hand and tracing my finger on the monogram on the knife. H.D. Hazel Dixon. It has to be them. That night I fell asleep with my dad and uncle in my mind.
<~~~~~~>
Two more days went by, and I started to settle in the camp, but my eyes was always on the forest.
"Hey, you are quieter than usual." It was Glenn, and I shrugged my shoulder.
"I'm like be alone."
"Not always, you can be really loud, always telling some stories by the fire." I chuckled a little at Glenn's words.
"Yeah, well, my dad never can shut up, guess I took after him a little." I wiped my hands on my jeans, it was already bloody, so who care.
"You are different, I mean, you are close to Amy in age, but you're... tougher. You can hunt, you don't mind being dirty or bloody, like you were built for this new world."
"Maybe, maybe not. I just grow up like this, we were sometimes low on money, and well... my dad is not a saint. But we were there for each other, and maybe I don't grow up in some fancy house like Amy or Andrea, but I has a good childhood. And I can fend for myself, because my pa taught me how."
"I don't mean as an offense! It's cool, I mean, you are cool, Hazel." Glenn was sometimes so awkward and shy, but he was sweet, so I grinned, patting his shoulder.
"Take a breath, chinaman, I know what ya mean."
"I'm Korean, but you know this."
"Yup."
"You can be so annoying."
"I know." Glenn just shake his head, and I laughed. I loved messing with him, or with the others. Lori came over to me, so I looked at her waiting for what she wants.
"You don't want to join the other kids? Jacqui and me teaching them."
"Sorry to disappoint, but I almost finished high school, 'm a little old for stuff like that, Lori." I said with an amused smile and Lori just sighed.
"I know, but you are always on your own, I'm just worried."
"I was on my own before, you don't need to worr..." We were interrupted by Shane.
"Great, the Dixons are back." He said sarcastically, and I needed to bit my lip before I say something I shouldn't. When I heard an all too familiar voice, I know it was him. He just get back, but he was already arguing with someone, I think with T-Dog.
My heart beat very fast and I closed my eyes for a moment, then open them and spun around. There it was, my dad and uncle, both of them carrying a deer on their own.
"Dad!" I shouted, and everyone looked at me, including my dad.
"Son of a bitch, Hazel?" My dad's eyes widened, and my uncle looked in my direction too. I started running, almost tipping my dad when I hugged him. He immediately hugged me back, stroking my hair.
"Dad...." A sob escaped my throat, and my chuckled.
"C'mon, baby girl, don't get all soft on me." I know he was not serious, he always said this to me when I was crying. He hugged me tighter, kissing my head, then I pulled back a little, and looked at my uncle.
"Daryl."
"C'mere." I let go of my dad, just to be hugged by Daryl. He hated hugging, but he never hated to hug me. "Jesus, we looked for ya everywhere, Haze!"
"I looked for you guys too." Daryl let go of me, then dad took my hands, eyeing the blood on them.
"It's yer blood?" I shake my head.
"Nah, I skinned a rabbit earlier." At that, my dad started grinning, ruffling my hair.
"That's ma' girl."
"I missed ya and Daryl." I hugged him again, burying my face into his chest. I felt like a little girl, but I don't felt this safe in weeks, like right now with my dad.
"I missed ya too, Haze."
"You are a Dixon? No way." I glanced at Glenn, but I didn't pull away completely from my dad. The others were dumbfounded, and my pa was the first who spoke in a rather irritated tone.
"She's ma' girl, Chinaman, ya have a problem with that?"
"No!" I started laughing. My dad can be rather intimidating, but also my uncle, or me if I have to be, or when I lost my shit. Maybe it's in the Dixon bloodline.
"You not exactly a father type, Dixon." Andrea said, and I glared at her. That woman was annoying, so classy... pff. At least her sister Amy was more likable. I liked her, on my first day here she said she loved mermaids and stuff like that. I told her I love things like that too, especially dragons. My dad always mocked me about it, but he always brought dragon figures to me, or things like that when he found something. Even if we were low on money.
"None of yer business, sugartits." I snorted hearing the nickname what my dad picked for Andrea. He turned back to me, still grinning seeing I was amused rather than upset.
"C'mon, lil sister, ya can help us with the deers, and tell us what happened with ya."
"Yeah, we were looking for ya at the school, and our hunting spots, but you were nowhere."
"We started coming back from that stupid school trip earlier, but some kid was infected. It was a mess, but my knife was with me, so I managed to go back home, but nobody was there. The truck was gone, and yer bike too. That was how I knew you and Daryl were alive. I took some clothes, my gun, some ammo, and go further from the city. I saw the bombing, so I kept low, staying in the forest. A couple of days ago my old camping spot was overrun by a herd and I thought maybe the quarry was still oke, good place to stay a little. Guess I was not the only one."
" 'm sorry, baby girl." Dad said, and Daryl put a hand on my shoulder, smirking.
"Yer dad was a mess, almost crashed his bike trying to get to the school faster to find you."
"Yeah? Who's getting soft now, dad?" I said while grinning, and he just scoffed.
"Shut up ya two. I ain't gettin' soft."
"Of course not, I love ya to." He rolled his eyes, then he lift up one of the deer, and went toward their tent. Daryl and I followed him, and we started working on the deers they brought. We discussed what happened to us in the past few weeks. It was nice. A couple of hours later I started to take down my tent, I wanted the move it closer to my dad and uncle's tent.
"Why are you taking down your tent?" I glanced at Lori.
"I'm moving it closer to my dad's tent."
"Everyone was shocked that Merle is your dad. You never said you are a Dixon too, and we said rude things about them..." I just shake my head.
"It's oke, Lori. I know how my dad can be sometimes. But he's not a bad father, so stop worrying. He's not Ed. My grandfather was a drunk bastard, beat his wife and sons." We all know that Carol's husband, Ed beat his wife, and I know it was easy to assume the same about my dad. I looked away. "My dad can be an asshole, but he never put a hand on a woman."
"I didn't know." Lori don't said anything else, and my dad showed up, and take my tent from me.
"I have this. Go and get your other stuff."
"Thanks. Hey, I didn't find my crossbow at home, ya take it with you?"
"Yeah, I thought ya want it, so we brought it." He said with an amused grin, and a happy squeak left my mouth. I kissed his cheek.
"Thanks dad!" I saw the corner of my eyes Lori smiling, and went on her own business, leaving us alone. Dad helped to put up my tent again next to theirs, but I grabbed his wrist. "Hey, dad? Can I sleep with ya and Daryl tonight?"
"Yeah. I ain't going nowhere, baby girl."
"I know." And just like before when we were camping, dad started telling stories, and Daryl always corrected him, because dad liked to exaggerate. When he started to snore, we looked at each other at Daryl, and burst out laughing, trying to muffle our voices, but then his face went serious.
"We missed ya, Haze. You make him a better man, a better brother."
"He's not a bad man, neither are you. We are a family, Dare, we need to stuck together, and keep an eye on each other." I glanced at my dad, and grinned." Well, maybe he needs a little more supervising than us."
"Oh, I wanna watch when ya say that to his face."
"Ya wish. Good nigh', Dare."
"Night', Haze."
Hazel's story originally a one-shot, so it's completed, but who knows, maybe I write more about Hazel's and her family's adventures in the future.

Title: Grief
Summary: When the jar tips and pours out the emotions you placed inside, Rick is there to comfort you.
Rating: All Audiences
Tags: Angst, Hurt/Comfort, friendship, found family, bit of a character study, set during Rick’s time after his kidnapping
————————————————————
Whenever you saw Rick Grimes your heart bled anew.
Not because you were in love with him and there was no chance of him loving you back because he had a woman and child waiting for him, but because he reminded you of your brother, Derek.
It wasn’t their being of equal height or possessing the same lean body and sleek muscles.
Nor was it the mop of dark curls threaded with silver that crowned Rick’s head or the beard he’d forget to trim until you’d start calling him Grisly Grimes.
It wasn’t even the roll of his shoulders as he swung a shovel or axe, his slow, easy gait as he crossed the compound or the way he sat a horse.
Sure, Rick wore his gun-belt low on his hips like Derek did, favored plain white t-shirts or simple cotton button-downs, and preferred cowboy boots over sneakers or work boots.
Yes, he could be a muleheaded jackass, had a helluva temper when riled, and lacked the sense to duck a punch.
He was also kind, considerate, and compassionate.
Loyal to those who earned his trust and respect.
Rick was a born leader. People listened to him when he spoke. Followed him without question.
Asked his advice on matters. Worked alongside him because he wanted the same thing they did: a future.
All things they used to do before your sister-in-law, Charity took sick and died.
Leaving your brother to raise your niece and nephew.
Another thing he and Rick had in common.
Something you discovered while he recovered from the injuries he sustained after blowing up a bridge to stop a horde from reaching the community he had been leader of.
Like Derek, Rick had been an officer before the shit hit the fan.
Married young, had a son he lost in a tragic turn of events.
His wife died giving birth to a little girl he chose to raise as his own.
Rick got shot in the line of duty and ended up in a coma before the virus spread through the country like wildfire. He miraculously survived his injury despite the hospital collapsing before he could be medi-vac’d to the medical facility established in Washington. He went on to become the leader of a group of survivors he referred to as his family.
A family he swore he’d get back too.
They suffered an endless array of nightmares together, relying on each other to get through some dark and desperate times, and working together in order to create a future worth living.
Same as you and the people in your community.
During a severe thunderstorm he confessed his sins, admitted his failures as a father, husband, brother, and friend.
Told you he killed a whole lotta people in a war he should’ve never started.
Said he deserved to rot in hell for all the suffering he caused.
Your heart, broken still from Derek’s death, shattered further at the myriad of emotions — anger, guilt, sorrow, and loneliness most prevalent among them — carved into his face, and burning in the depths of his eyes.
Eyes the same rich shade of blue as Derek’s.
Crinkles appeared at the corners of those eyes as he smiled at something your ten-your-old niece, Faith said to him.
She was the only one who could coax a smile or laugh out of him.
Same as she could her father.
Well, you amended as Faith ran off towards her friends, before Derek took to marinating himself in the shit that passes for whiskey in this place.
That was where your brother and Rick differed.
Rick exorcised his demons by working himself pass the point of exhaustion every night.
Derek chose booze, pills, and to sleep with every woman in the camp.
Married or not didn’t matter to your brother.
Neither did Faith and Ryan.
No matter how much you begged, he refused to seek treatment for his alcoholism. Even threats to take Faith and Ryan and go to one of the other compounds fell on deaf ears.
Nothing and nobody could stop Derek.
Her brother was a massive, unmanned train on a collision course with another train.
One loaded with a ton of explosives.
Twenty innocent men died because I couldn’t figure out how to derail Derek.
Husbands, fathers, brothers, and sons.
Who hadn’t known your brother was so drunk he couldn’t see straight.
You don’t realize you’ve started crying until you feel a gentle hand on your shoulder and hear a soft, “Hey.”
You can’t bring yourself to look into Rick’s eyes.
“Thinking ‘bout your brother?”
You manage a nod.
All you can offer since the lump in your throat prevented you from doing much else.
“The hurt won’t ever go away but I promise it’ll get more bearable in time.”
You appreciated his stone cold truth over the carefully worded commiserations of the others.
You could deal with honesty.
Half-truths only made the hurt worse.
This world was cold, cruel.
All of them had suffered.
None in your mind more than Rick.
Losing a friend, sibling, parent or spouse was terrible enough.
To lose a child?
Well, that was simply unimaginable.
His son’s death would haunt Rick for the rest of his life.
For him, it was his greatest failure.
The ultimate sin.
Yours was your inability to stop your brother before he got himself and others killed.
A choked sob escaped you as the jar you stored your emotions in after Derek’s death tipped over and everything inside poured out.
Your knees buckled.
You’d have sunk to the ground if not for Rick catching hold of you before you made a real spectacle of yourself.
Not that you cared.
Grief dug raw wounds in your stomach, tore fresh holes in your soul, and shredded what little remained of your heart.
The hurt was so deep you thought you’d drown.
Not that you would.
You wouldn’t descend into the abyss like your brother did.
Faith and Ryan needed you.
You’d go on living beneath this shroud as the rain poured down, down, down.
For now, though, you’d let yourself weep.
Your head tipped forward, forehead resting against Rick’s chest as you let your tears flow free. Rick’s chest vibrated as he mumbled something. He shifted, settled you more comfortably against him, and rubbed your back in slow, soothing circles.
As Derek had done before his heart had gone hard, hard, hard.
“So-sorry for cryin’ on your shoulder,” you managed once the choking sobs stopped.
“Don’t worry ‘bout it.” Rick produced a rag from his pocket that he handed to you. “It’s clean.”
You take it with a soft, “Thanks.”
He stayed as you wiped the tears away, not saying anything, but letting you know he was there if you needed him.
As you stood together under the dark clouds that gathered during your breakdown, you realized you might not be in love with Rick Grimes but you did love him.
As a brother.
One you decided to help get back to his family.
No matter what.

I have more chapters to this so if you want ‘em ya gotta let me know! Y/N is like 20 in this and Negan is whatever age he is in season 7 so if that’s too much of an age gap please turn back!
Warnings: 18+ smut dn interact if not 18+ afab!you, daddy kink, kissing, age difference, abusive!Rick Grimes, protective Negan,
Summary: Negan and Y/N ride to The Sanctuary.
After grabbing a shirt and a few other things to take with me, Negan invites me into the passenger’s seat of the truck and he gets behind the wheel as the other men sit in the back, separated from us. This is truly the fucking craziest thing I’ve ever done — including trying to kill Negan the other day. But I don’t care. I’m sick of putting everyone else first. Negan pushes a CD into the player on the dashboard and AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell” starts playing.
“You’re so cliché,” I tell him with a smirk.
I haven’t thought about music in so long...
“ Excuse me?” Negan snorts, clearly amused, putting down Lucille next to him securely and hitting the gas. “Me? Cliché? I’m one-hundred-percent genuine, original, motherfucking badass! And don’t you fucking forget it, kid.”
“Yeah, leather jackets and heavy metal. Really groundbreaking,” I smirk as the wind starts blowing through the flyaway hairs around my face that didn’t quite make it into my ponytail.
“You are such a little shit,” he growls fondly, jostling my shoulder playfully and my heart flutters, as he keeps one hand on the wheel. I wanna touch him too. It’s like we can’t keep our hands off each other. “Like you’re the soul of originality anyway, huh? Mrs. Daddy-issues, falling for the big bad boy in the leather fucking jacket.”
“Got me there, bad boy,” I shrug, grinning. I lean over and kiss him on the cheek and rub my fingers through his hair, messing it up a little. It’s almost insane how comfortable I feel around him now. His stubble scratches against my lips. It was kind of an impulsive move, but he seems to have liked it. His ears go a little red. I count making him flush anywhere as a personal victory. He looks at me like I’m too sweet as I pull away, a little embarrassed, and he rolls his eyes.
“And I’ll have you know,” he tells me, poking me in the ribs for emphasis, smiling with his eyes, getting back to business. “That my silhouette is fucking iconic, okay? That’s how you know you’re fucking original, right? If you can tell who someone is just from behind? Like with movie characters and shit! You see me from the back, holding my baby Lucille, and there ain’t nobody for goddamn miles around who doesn’t know who the fuck I am and what I can do. But most importantly,” he says, his voice getting deeper, his big hand suddenly squeezing down around my thigh and I gasp in surprise. “Is that there is nobody out there as goddamn, motherfucking bad as me .”
The way he says that makes me giggle, but also tremble a little. It doesn’t help when he starts to rub up and down the inside of my leg. I inhale, trying to calm myself down. It feels so good.
“Yeah, okay...” I nod, trying to keep my cool, but it’s really hard and I think he knows it as I try not to squirm. “Except I don’t even havta see Lucille,” I snicker, thinking about it, trying not to moan as his big hand moves farther up my thigh. God, I am desperate! “I can just tell by how far back you lean. How do you even do that shit anyway? Like you’re not exactly young and spry anymore, old man. And that’s some true acrobat shit,” I am full-out laughing now until Negan starts to rub over my cunt through my pants. Then I get quiet real fast and he smiles big in a kinda dark way I think is so hot. Fuck, I’m really wet now and my breathing starts to get a lot heavier. I’m such a sucker. The hairs on my neck stand up on end. And then his hand moves over just the right place and I let out a little moan involuntarily. I cover my mouth in surprise.
He chuckles like he owns me, his voice low, in complete amusement. And I’m totally fucked because he so does.
“Something funny, sweetheart?” he asks innocently, his hand disappearing under my jeans, rough fingers trailing over my underwear. And I am squirming for him to do more. God, it feels good how he’s moving against me, and my pussy clenches in excitement as I move against him, but it’s not quite enough! My heart beats so fast. I try not to rut into his big hand greedily. “Always so fucking wet for me, huh, honey?” he asks softly in my ear. I fucking tremble . “Christ, baby girl,” he smirks, seeing how worked up I’m getting. I look over and see the large bulge in his jeans and want to point out that he seems pretty affected too, but the pleasure — it’s too much.
“Please, Daddy,” I whine, surprising myself, my cheeks flush pink as I try to arch my hips into his hand. “ Please.”
God, I’m so fucking needy!
But instead of laughing, Negan just groans quietly in response, staring at me hungrily and for a second I’m sure he’s gonna pull over and fuck me right there on the side of the road, hard, and my heart races. But then he takes his hand away, with a huge amount of self-restraint, sighing, and I groan in frustration. He smiles wide at the control he has over me in the situation.
“Nah. I don’t think so,” He shrugs, smirking infuriatingly. “You get to cum when I fucking say you can. You ought to know that by now, darlin’. And we’ve got somewhere to be. But God, you are such a fucking good little slutty tease for me,” he grins, slapping my thigh. “And fuck if I don’t I love it!” He reaches up to his parted lips and sucks on his glistening fingers that were rubbing against me a second ago. My eyes go wide, heat curling low in my belly. Ugh, I just wanna ride him! Even his fucking fingers. Whatever he’ll fucking give me honestly.
“Still fucking feel like making fun of me though?” he asks like a threat, his voice getting very low as he puts his hand back on my thigh, his words breaking me away from my thoughts.
I shake my head demurely.
“N-no, Daddy,” I say even though I don’t really want to.
“Good girl,” he nods, looking very satisfied. And I bask in the praise. But then he takes his hand away! Again!
And then I can’t help firing off my big mouth. And besides, maybe if I piss him off enough he’ll put it back since being good clearly didn’t get me any further...
“Hey, you know when you lean back like that, if I stood right behind you, do you think I could see your vertebrae disconnect?” I ask, trying not to laugh. “I mean really how do you do it?”
Negan rolls his eyes and slugs my arm half-heartedly, rubbing it before he takes his hand away, his tongue on his lips. But he’s smiling interestedly now, like he’s impressed with my persistence.
“Hardy goddamn har. You are so fucking funny, kid, I’m rolling all over the goddamn floor. And here I was thinking you’d learnt your fucking lesson,” his voice lowers threateningly and I shiver. “Evidently not . But the lean? That’s a trade secret, baby.” His eyes light back up as he tells me. He licks his lips. “But you know,” he says. “Now that I think about it, I bet you can also tell it’s me from behind from how much time you spend staring at my ass .”
My face goes bright red.
“Shut up!” I stammer, punching him back in the shoulder, hard. “Oh my god!” Am I really that obvious!?
Negan snickers.
“Hey, it’s no problem. I know it’s a nice ass and all —hell, my wives fucking kiss it all the time —but, Jesus, talk about thirsty… ”
He’s snickering even more now at the mortified expression on my face. He’s so hot it’s hard to be pissed at how smug he is though.
“ Someone needs to get laid…” he snorts like he can read my thoughts.
Well, whose fault is that!?
My face is bright pink, but I’m smiling too. I can’t help it. I still can’t believe this is happening. He isn’t wrong...
“Maybe you should do something about that,” I challenge, putting my hand on his warm denim-clad thigh. He’s not the only one who can play at this game. I mean, he’s still hard. I slide my hand closer to the large bulge and he sighs deeply in a way I’d like to hear again. “Maybe you need to, uh,” I channel every romance novel I’ve ever read. “Discipline me…” I suggest with a casual shrug. His eyes look amused, excited, and wanting. “You know, like teach me a lesson?” I try to clarify.
He laughs.
“Oh, baby, you know I—“
He’s about to say something sassy and sexy and promising I’m sure —I can tell by his face and the way he’s looking at me and the way my pussy throbs—but then his eyes wander and he notices my shoulder as we go over a bump in the road.
“Hey, are you fucking dumb? Put your fucking seat belt on!” he barks suddenly.
“What!?” I stammer incredulously, snorting, literally so shocked that of all the things he could have said to interrupt me touching him, this is what he comes up with.
“You heard me!” he repeats like a pissed-off parent. Is he actually serious? “You are not fucking dying like that. Not on my watch. You’re way too smart and badass for that shit and you’ve got a whole fucking life ahead of you and I have big fucking plans for your cute little sorry ass.”
“What kinda plans?” I ask, getting on all fours and sticking my head out the window to egg him on. Is he trying to tease me? If he wants me to tease him, I will. The wind blows my hair everywhere as I look out onto the forest road, giving him a nice view of my ass.
“I’m serious, Y/N!” Negan snaps, grabbing my ass that’s kinda sticking out towards him in the breeze and I blush. But he doesn’t even take the bait and try to play with me! He just yanks me back in and my ass slams back down into the seat. Boy, he’s strong. I sorta thought he’d spank me or something more fun. “You could get your motherfucking arms and head chopped off!” He shouts.
“Okay, fine, Dad !” I relent, shaking my head, sitting back down in a huff, crossing my arms over my chest. “Jesus, you did say my ass was cute and all…” I mumble a little sheepishly at the pissed-off look on his face in an attempt to explain myself. His face softens. “I was just tryna tease you...” But he was actually worried about me, the big sap! I hope those plans involve a lot of sex. But, like, I don’t think a single person has told me to put on a seatbelt since the apocalypse started. I guess it’s kinda nice that he cares. Jesus, who is this guy? My dad? The fucking safety patrol? A sex god? My personal temptation from Hell? And to think I would have killed him only a few fucking days ago! I reach for the buckle above my shoulder, but when I pull it down, it gets stuck halfway. I pull it again and the same thing happens.
“Jesus, kid, let me fucking do it why don’t you,” he growls, rolling his eyes, and reaches over and slams the metal down into the buckle, but I can see his eyes soften ever so slightly at the expression on my face.
“It’s broken!” I pout but cut myself off when I see he’s easily fixed the problem.
“Broken, my ass. There. Honestly, what the fuck would you do without me, baby?” he smirks, adjusting the strap a little so I’m more comfortable. He looks like he’s enjoying feeling important and authoritative over me. Probably part of his goddamn savior complex he so perfectly laid out for me the other day...
“Alright, alright, I’m good,” I insist, my face a little red from embarrassment at not being able to fucking buckle my own self. “‘S not my fault you’re so fucking strong!” But I like the attention of him doting on me too much and I think he knows it. “Hey, Negan, though?” I ask suddenly, pulling on his shoulder, thinking of our impending arrival. “Hey, are your wives gonna be pissed at me?”
“Pissed? For not wearing a seatbelt? Fuck if I know!” he shrugs, rolling his hazel brown eyes, reaching up to adjust a mirror. “I try not to drive ‘em around too much honestly. Unless we end up fucking in the back. Or if they give me a handy while I’m driving,” he turns to me and winks. “Hell, if they blow me while we’re on the road, they sure as shit aren’t wearing theirs,” he grins devilishly.
“No. Fucking hell. Gross!” I roll my eyes. He smirks. “I mean about me being at the Sanctuary. Being with you. They won’t be pissed off about that?”
“Oh, I highly fucking doubt it,” he tells me with another shrug, rolling his eyes again. “They don’t much care who I fuck as long as they get to keep living the lavish-ass lifestyles they do.” He looks out at the road and not at me like maybe that pisses him off a little. But the look is gone as soon as it came. “Why? You know I’m the boss around there, baby,” he smirks, turning back to me, cocky and confident as ever. “You don’t have shit to worry about on that end.”
“Oh...uh, no reason,” I say quickly, my cheeks turning pink again. “It’s just, —I dunno —if I was your wife, I guess I wouldn’t wanna share you is all,” I shrug.
Sound more pathetic, I dare you!! I think to myself as soon as the words have left my mouth. I shouldn’t have said that out loud, but when I look up he’s actually smiling at me. And it’s not a smirk. It’s a real smile. He looks genuinely pleased.
“Aw, you are such a fucking sweetheart, aren’t you?” he tells me, as he reaches out and pinches my cheek. I yelp and smack his hand away. And then he’s laughing, but I think he actually looks a little touched. “You are a fucking sassy little shit with one helluva fire in your belly, but sweet and soft as shit nonetheless,” he says fondly, looking me over. “It’s a fucking wonder you’ve survived this long...” he says over exaggeratedly, shaking his head and rolling his eyes, but he’s smiling big all the same. “Not too many people like that last in this shitshow…” he says after a moment a little more seriously, looking at me like he really sees me.
“Guess you’re lucky you found me,” I grin.
“Guess I fucking am,” he agrees as he ruffles my hair and leans in and plants a playful kiss on my neck that turns into a bite and then a small, purple hickey as the wind from outside blows softly through my hair.
“So what the fuck kinda music do you like to listen to anyways ?” He muses. “And if you say that Justin Bieber shit I’ll throw you outta the goddamn car right here and now!”
a/n: FOR THE RECORD I don't hate Justin Bieber I just think that since the apocalypse happened in like 2010 he was a big thing then and that's the kind of thing Negan would say since he was a high school teacher he would have known his popularity, but all the beliebers can feel free to excoriate me in the comments if they so please. PLEASE leave comments or kudos if you want more I have a few more chapters. Do you like how things are progressing? Do you hate it? Let me know!!
