As awesome as it is to see the LGBTQ+ representation in the Baymax show (and it absolutely is), can I just give a shoutout to the fact that they also included - during the scene where Baymax is getting the period products - a dad getting period products for his daughter?

Way too often, I hear about how men should have nothing to do with periods and how they don’t wanna know when any of their period-having relatives hit their monthlies, and it is amazingly refreshing to see a dude casually recommending the period product that his daughter favours. It shouldn’t be, but it is, so thank you, Baymax show

hey just wanted to comment on ur fanfiction that u wrote and edited and posted to let u know that ummmm u wrote the character with flaws?? sorry but did u realize that u gave the character flaws?? i don't really like this character because they have flaws did you mean to give ur main character flaws?? just wanted to let u know that character has flaws and i don't like that!!

something i think about a lot is how woy's biggest theme is the power of redemptive kindness and yet a lot of wander's concentrated efforts to redeem villains by being nice to them...don't work.

he persistently annoys hater for two seasons and only manages the slightest change of heart near the end. dominator is never "redeemed". emperor awesome and all the others are still galactic dictators. even the characters who aren't evil but are just generally unpleasant like brad starlight don't get an enlightening "oh wow, you're right, maybe i should be nice!" moment.

and the characters who did turn around and have a change of heart because of him, it all happened off-screen, and was implied to take years and years and years of effort for major threat; less for sylvia but being at her side 24/7 certainly helped.

then there's the black cube, a major villain who does turn around and have a change of heart, but it's out of their choice. wander might be there to offer moral support and encouragement (and banjo lessons), but ultimately the black cube had to decide for themself to change. and i think that's important, because in real life you can't make people change. no matter how hard you try the decision to be a better person will always come down to them and them alone.

and i think that's an interesting approach, because while woy does say that being nice is important, it's very realistic in how it definitely doesn't work all the time. you really can't change an evil dictator just by being nice to them once or twice. sometimes people are just assholes. there's no pretense about the world being sunshine and rainbows and hugs (no matter how much wander wants it to be 😔✌️). it's...surprisingly mature when you think about it.

and when it does work? when he lets a young girl buy the last bottle of soda and she gives it to him in return? when the parents at the shopping mall thank him for watching their lost kid? those moments are so, so small, they practically seem insignificant in the grander scheme of the show. and yet when we get to the secret planet episode near the end, and wander confesses to the others that he's "just a wandering weirdo", everybody recognizes him because of those moments. because being nice is a ripple effect, and most of the time you can't see the waves. you just have to throw a rock in and hope for the best.

and it never hurts to try.

I was discussing it on my Instagram lastnight and I continue to think about it so I ramble here:

Peepers is not a birthname

It is such a vastly different name from what seems normal to watchdogs, you have Andy, Ted, Westley, Tim, Barry, so on. No watchdog parent would name their kid Peepers. On Instagram I went into depth and discussed his detachment to the watchdogs and how it was hinted he knows his family and in season 3 it would be a problem. Unfortunately I saw that a long time ago and cannot prove the quote but I am pretty sure a creator said it. However even if no quote, considering he has ran off and become the commander of a huge evil army and never once discussed his family, safe to assume he wants nothing to do with them and they're some form of issue. That makes sense.

I think it can be rather nice to see it in a trans light, however I too changed my name before being aware of my gender due to wanting to detach from family. Whatever is going on, I find a lot of comfort in it and see myself a little too. I wanted all detachment from those people, and it seems so does Peepers. It makes me so happy to see a character change their name for these reasons, I understand it. I so often see name changing being linked to trans people and trans people only, despite being trans myself sometimes I feel a little left out because my name change is not linked to gender. Peepers changing his name to spite his family and run off and be independent from them.. That's what I want to do. I don't quite want to run away become evil commander, but I do want to be me

Delving on the trans light a little though, it really excites me how much reason for it! To name a few, things like shorter than the other watchdogs, his higher voice, his chest, you understand the idea. It's good! Makes sense!

Fatui stans. Harbinger lovers. It was today, a year ago, July 11, that "A Winter Night's Lazzo" was released, and we became changed people.

Since then, Scaramouche became Wanderer, a playable character. We got to see Dottore too, and Arlecchino is on her way soon to wow us all. As for Childe... he's existing (please bring him back hyv)
