Making this as my pinned post regarding my Final Fantasy IV novelization.

I'm doing this because I love this game and I think about it a lot, especially when questions of what redemption means or what a good redemption arc is come up. Since FFIV was originally a Super Nintendo game, it sometimes feels a little basic. Sometimes that means it feels a little like a fairy tale, or feels like the outline of a much bigger story that the player is invited to make up parts of themselves.

So I did.

While I feel I'm a decent writer, I have a hard time finishing anything longform. Using the original game as an outline makes up for some of my deficiencies with decision making and plotting.

It doesn't make up for my deficiencies in actually writing regularly, however, which is something I'm working on.

I'm trying to make this work as fanfic for people who love the game, and also work as a standalone work for people who have never played it. Why not give it a try?

three ships: Since this is about getting to know each other better, I'm naming 3 that don't appear on my dash that much but I still love. Kurogane/Fai, Rita/Estelle, and Alvin/Jude/Milla.

first ship: Angel/Buffy which turned into Spike/Buffy as soon as their tension began. But Willow/Tara was my next ship and I had more attachment to their relationship.

last movie: Deadpool & Wolverine, but I am going to see Beetlejuice Beetlejuice in a few hours.

currently reading: The Illumination Process by Alberto Villoldo. I haven't really been reading fiction books lately, but I am still in the middle of Consequences. I can't remember the author and I'm not home right now. It's a fantasy romance about a jinn.

currently watching: My sister and I are spamming One Piece. We're about 300 episodes behind.

currently eating: Nothing, but I'm going to have chickpea pasta with garlic pesto sauce for lunch in a bit :)

currently craving: To go on my Florida trip this December!

I finished a Final Fantasy XIV fic that I’ve been chewing on for a while. I like Aymeric and Estinien as a pairing, but I also like the idea of them just having a very intense, war buddies who are ride or die for each other type friendship. So I wanted to explore that a bit. And to explain why Estinien was avoiding Aymeric during the patches other than just being a douchebag.

It’s mostly just them talking.
