“Riv,” Spider said once, half-giggling as he tried to get his suit jacket off— he didn’t always wear those overdressed suits of his to parties, sometimes he dressed like a normal person, but his standard move was to not bother changing out of his work attire before showing up, which meant that more often than not, River would be helping him out of his two-piece at the end of the night. “Rivey. Riv.” “Mmhm?” River asked from the kitchen, pouring Spider a glass of water. “You take good care of me, y’know?” Spider yawned. “It’s a good thing. You’re a… good friend, letting me crash. Even if…” He yawned again, finally getting the jacket off him and tossing it unceremoniously on the ground. “…your place is a shithole.” River rolled his eyes as he brought the water over, but smiled just a bit, somehow finding Spider’s usual snobbery endearing when colored by this petulant-drunk affect. “Drink.” River handed him the glass.

Louisa reached out to brush a cold knuckle against River’s cheek. “It’s bruising,” she said, in a very told-you-so kind of tone. “It’s turned purple.” River shrugged. “Oh. Guess I misjudged. I thought it wasn’t that bad.” He leaned away from her, just a centimetre, and she let her hand drop. “I guess it’s--” He chuckled to himself. “I guess my standards have just been raised for what it really means to be hurt, you know. Can thank Duffy for that.” He said it like a joke, a smile already plucking at his lips, but Louisa’s face only hardened. “That’s not funny, River.”

Koichi is so funny he's friends with Josuke only because he walked headfirst into his nephew's steel packer then overheard his family drama and got invested. he got shot in the chest and laid an egg and he just went well this is my life now. he saved his kidnapper's life even after she basically tortured him into pissing himself because he thinks she's just a dumb teenager. he's best friends with his other kidnapper. he keeps getting kidnapped because he's pocket sized. he accused Rohan of lying about a stand attack and then felt bad about it and followed him around. he offered to blind himself if he couldn't recognize his love's eyes. he immediately started cursing out a serial killer upon meeting him even if it got him his lungs punched out. he's not great at English but he knows all the swear words. his stand is a misogynist. he barely graduates high school and he runs off to Italy to get more involved in Josuke's family drama. he cheated at learning Italian. he used his stand against Giorno when he thought Giorno was just a regular, non stand using thief. he named his dog after a new wave band. he's so fucking cool but there is something undeniably wrong with him

Okay, i am sick in an airport time for Chris Redfield thoughts

I know chris in re8 sucks and does some Dumb snit, but tbh i really don’t feel like it’s that out of character for him? Like, obviously he’s very compassionate, thats one of his main traits as described, but we also have seen that starting to fail to some degree, esp in vendetta and ESPECIALLY in re8. I think to some degree, it’s sort of a self sacrificial thing? Like, Chris has been through a lot, and from the beginning he’s been viewed by both his superiors and himself as being expendable, like in STARS wesker was literally using them as test dummies for his new toys. And i think all his time dealing with that, and seeing others be expendable, from less notable team mates, like his various teams that all die around him, to his named ones like Piers, Damien, and even Jill who die (or “die” in jill’s case) and now he’s kind of got this complex, where like. All these people have sacrificed so much and had pointless, meaningless deaths, that he kind of has to ascribe meaning to it. They had to have died for a cause, it had to be honorable and have meant something, when really they just. Didn’t. They were all just pointless deaths that didn’t mean much of anything in the grand scheme of things. But he’s gotta hold onto it, they have to be martyrs, because otherwise whats the point. And i think it’s lead to this sort of like. A feeling of frustration and even a, maybe not even fully conscious, but a sense for him that people *are* expendable, that they should be willing to die or sacrifice for the cause. In vendetta it’s pretty clear he’s frustrated that Leon’s not willing to drop everything and help him, that Leon’s not willing to go through it again, to the point of being like. Tbh pretty shitty to Leon. And i think it explains some of his behavior in Re8, and it’s what gets Ethan killed, is Chris’ sense everyone should be willing to do whatever it takes to get things done. He keeps saying ethan needs to stay out of it, that it doesn’t concern him, and it makes me wonder how detached he’s made himself from other people. Like. The fact he looks at Ethan and can say it’s none of his business, when he ‘killed’ his wife and kidnapped his child is like. Bud, even outside the fact this was his business the minute re7 happened, you MADE it his business by doing what you did. And like. He knows he fucked up, but given how it’s implied he wants to use/treats Rose, I don’t think he learned his lesson.
