Way too much of the fandom, for some reason: "Wow, how dare Ursa cause Ozai to be abusive!"

I could complain about some of the writing decisions from the comics too, but that one is just people having terrible reading comprehension. Didn't the exact same comic also establish that Ozai tried to kill Zuko right when he was born? I don't think we're intended to take Ozai at his word when he says it's Ursa's fault he abuses Zuko!

Exactly! And what actually scares me about this kind of logic is that it makes me worried that a decent percentage of the people who look at Ozai and his self-justifications, and accusations that Ursa made him do it, and say, "yeah that tracks", respond to similar situations of real life abuse, the same way, by demonizing the victims of that abuse, and giving abusers the out they want so much. Like, seeing this logic used for fictional characters scares me because I'm afraid people use it for real people in real situations too.
