Oh, LGL, however did I know this little wrinkle with Grocery Boy would bring you out of the woodworks…

I could literally write a mini essay on this so I’ll try and overview it as fast as I know how because we have some toxic dynamics building up right now, and without seeing that clearly the story may go off the rails very quickly.

Let’s go back to the 1920s. I admit I did not show this dynamic as explicitly as I would have liked, but you can see it in this post. Josephine in some ways delights in knowing that Giorgio is “below” her, in feeling like she’s the one with the power in their relationship. She gives him just enough emotionally but never all that she knows he needs and craves (see this post too).

Despite this (and perhaps because of it), Giorgio is hooked on her. He’ll never admit it (not even to himself), but in doing this he’s trying to reverse that power dynamic. Now she is the one who needs him, and that’s all he’s ever wanted. At first this was just a desire for his partner to need and rely on him emotionally (again, here), but the more Josephine manipulated that and put him down, the more this evolved into a larger complex.

Of course the reasoning that he gives is not totally fabricated, and Giorgio knows better than any of them just how bad the economic situation is. His father is a mafia leader (which has been alluded to), and it’s clear that he has intel into the larger issues in this era. It’s important to note that while we see this clearly in hindsight, it’s perhaps not as clear to those living it day to day. So when he says that he’s doing it for them, he means it. New Orleans in the 1930s is in horrible economic straights, and he was offering the lifeline he has to his friends and the woman he loves. As we’ve now learned, this lifeline is far from perfect (looking at you barren soil and home loan), but when you consider the alternatives and the value of a home itself, it is at least a base to weather the storms of the decade.

However, he knows that Jo would not accept a lifeline, because it would make her dependent and indebted to that person, therefore giving them power over her (which she admits to herself here). So he told himself that he was obscuring part of the truth for her sake, not his own. But then we’re right back to Gio’s underlying, more manipulative reasons, which now color this new dynamic and put Josephine in a situation that while “safer”, ultimately robs her of making an informed choice and meeting Giorgio on equal footing if she had chosen this on her own.

nagi - practically feels guilty the second he cums to the thought of you - someone else’s partner. but he can’t help the way he sees you, and he cringes at himself when he looks at the mess he made after picturing your face in his head while his eyes were so rolled back from pleasure.

I know you are tired of Boston hate from fans but I do think a shift will happen soon with him being outed we'll see how unsafe of an environment he's in with his dad and probably abuse.

oh i absolutely agree we’re gonna see how abusive boston’s dad really is once he gets outed, and while that may shift his friends perspective, i just don’t picture that changing anything with the fandom. because the thing about boston is that whether or not people love him or hate him, a majority of the fandom seems to have the same view of him — that he’s evil, irredeemable, the villain, the worst, which is really what annoys me the most.

because the people that hate boston have such a strong view of him i don’t think anything is gonna change that, like a lot of them i’ve seen say he’s a sexual predator because of what he did to top. which, were this any other show with any other group of characters i’d understand that view and that hatred but the thing is: none of these characters know what the fuck boundaries are. so if boston is a predator, so are the rest of them for making/spreading that recording or getting that video of him or using sex as a manipulation tool or any number of things that these characters have done wrong that involve a lack of consent/sexual manipulation of any kind. they’re either all predators or none of them are, pick one.

i think the people that love boston are more likely to change that view of him being irredeemable, but it does still annoy me that people view him like that and use that language. not because i don’t get it, like i’m guilty of it myself, but at this point, it bothers me because again, it’s either all of them or none of them. i joke about them all being my evil little guys, but boston consistently seems to be the one talked talked about with the most negative language even though he’s truly not any different from anyone else on this show.

in conclusion: boston is just a guy. they’re all just guys. they’ve all fucked up and done things wrong and they’re all literally just reacting to each other and their own trauma. he is not any worse than anyone else.

One. I didn't see these until just now. But even if I had seen them, I don't owe you an immediate response on this website. It's hard, but you need to learn to process your own feelings WITHOUT relying on someone to reply. Also, it's my right to ignore you, but in this case? That is not what's happening, and accusing me of ignoring you as if you're entitled to my time and attention will only piss me off. I am literally a stranger. Fuck off or do better.

Two. It sucks that your friend told your other friend you were frustrated with them. You have my sympathy there. Very charitably, I assume you were simply venting and "shut up forever" was hyperbole, but if it WASN'T hyperbole...idk, maybe hang out with people who do not piss you off this way? I don't stay friends with people I don't like talking to. Perhaps consider modifying your approach to friendship in the future?

(Also, hold up, you "told them everything they want to hear" like you expect them to just get over it and forgive you and everything will be fine? Dude, that's not how feelings work. It does not fucking matter how "sorry you are"; people process shit at their own speed regardless of what you say or do. You do not control how people react to you. You control your actions, not your results. If you said something and you meant it, OWN IT. Even if it hurt someone! Apologize for hurting their feelings, but don't just say what you think someone wants to hear. Saying shit you don't mean just to get the result you want is emotionally immature and manipulative. I understand you're freaking out, but you can do better. You don't control your results, so don't try. Do whatever will help you live a life you can be proud of.)

Perhaps also consider googling "healthy coping skills" and "how to handle anxiety," and seek therapy if you can. You deserve to be able to process frantic feelings without dumping your panic onto (and demanding replies from) a total stranger. Which brings me to--

he’s polarizing bc he’s integral to the plot functioning and he’s a threat to wangxian’s relationship. if he was removed from the novel there’d be no plot, and the story would be way less compelling. his chemistry with wwx >>>> wangxian’s chemistry so anyone who’s a wangxian shipper but can sense chemistry instinctively rejects him. others see that he’s a crazy hot guy and like him. sure, he’s not in the plot much, but wwx thinks about him so much it’s like he’s always present.

And other reds were hard to get along with. They butted heads. They almost never agreed on anything. Their views often differed. Naoe could count on one hand the reds he got along with and they were all Uesugi reds and most of them answered to him because of rank. Outside of the Uesugi, he didn't get along with many-- if any.
