SUSTAINABLE FASHION: SOME SOLUTIONS

As I mentioned in my last post, over one-third of the impact of our clothes comes from how we care for them. Washing and drying incorrectly or excessively can be wasteful in terms of energy and water usage. One thing you can do to reduce the impact of your clothing is to wash them less, but washing synthetic fabrics at all releases microfibers into our water supply. And microfibers released from washing harm the environment. With each wash, countless plastic fibers from synthetic textiles are making their way from washing machines into rivers and oceans. 

So I use a Guppy Friend ® when I wash things such as this poly dress. The Guppyfriend washing bag is a patented solution, that filters out the tiniest microfibers released from textiles during washing.
