Tools and Materials Needed for Watercolor Painting
When it comes to watercolor painting, having the right tools and materials is essential. Here are some of the items you'll need to get started:
1. Watercolor Paints: Look for high-quality paints that offer a wide range of colors. Opt for artist-grade paints if possible, as they tend to have better pigment intensity and lightfastness.
2. Brushes: Invest in a variety of brushes with different shapes and sizes. Round brushes are great for creating fine details, while flat brushes work well for washes and broad strokes.
3. Watercolor Paper: Choose acid-free paper specifically designed for watercolors. Look for different weights (thickness) depending on your preference – lighter weight papers are more suitable for sketches and studies, while heavier weight papers can handle multiple layers of paint.
4. Palette: Use a palette with wells or mixing areas to hold your paints and mix colors together.
5. Water Container: Have separate containers for clean water and dirty water so you can easily rinse your brush without contaminating your paint.
6. Masking Tape: This helps secure your paper to a board or surface while painting, preventing it from buckling or moving around.
7. Pencil and Eraser: Use these tools to sketch out your design before applying paint.
8.Palette Knife(Optional): A palette knife can be useful when lifting color off the paper or creating texture in certain areas
Remember that every artist has their own preferences when it comes to materials, so don't be afraid to experiment and find what works best for you! With the right tools in hand, you'll be ready to dive into the wonderful world of watercolor painting.

“Stung by a Dead Bee”
Watercolour painting FOR SALE
Moving forward from painting animals as they appear in the wild to using animals as a facilitator to explore emotions and more abstract concepts is something I have fervently put into my work. "Stung by a Dead Bee" is based on regrets. Crows, specifically these hooded crows, are naturally scavengers - trawling their immediate landscape to find juicy morsels for their next meal. Although this bee may be dead, its sting remains. When one scavenges their own thoughts, regrets and past feelings are revisited, with the fresh sting of emotion. Sometimes it may be better to move on, although sometimes, it is better to take the sting, as the feeling is finite.

「well... i'm confused again. am i still here or there? where am i on the other side? i know where, because i'm connected. so right? but where is the real me? and... she doesn't really exist. i exist only for those who know about me. but the me who is now talking... this me... who is she?」
