The question can be interpreted in three ways.

Technical:

just... Pain...I have an old 7th gen Intel i7, 16 gigs of ram, and RTX 3060. The thing is. When It comes to meshes, or hard surfaces (the polygons) blender is actually very good at handling a lot of them. But guess what blender does NOT like. Clouds, textures and displacments. I did the details in the cube first, and then sufferd through the pain and lag of clouds and textures.

Render times don't increase with polygons. This many poligons render a 1080p image in 40 seconds. You just have to be smart about hiding stuff you don't need when editing.

I can send you the model. It's really not a huge problem.

Creating detail kind of technical:

well it is indeed hand made. It doesn't take long if you blender very aggressively with energetic music. The first wall took me, ~30-40 hours. The second is barely visible so just a copy of that with modifications. I premade greebles and assets that I have later scatterd. You can see I reused a lot of stuff. In the project I am currently working on it will be different. But in this one, I tried to follow the doctrine of hiding the flatness of the cube. So it doesn't look like a cube with stuff on it, with fairly decent results. Made some holes some structures etc.. The plugins that I used mostly are discombulator, blenders inbuilt panel gen. And we'll uh. That's Pretty much it. Made a geonodes modifier, for the pipes. So it's easier, so that's a thing.

And the rest is just me trying to be creative and stuff.

The "how do I come up where goes what"

I domnt funkin know.

I'm an engineer. And that means I solve pracital problems. Such as, will this pipe going from here to here make sense? Or does it make sense to make this thing here if there is another nearby? I can barely be called an artist, or creative for that matter. I can't draw like at all,I just get anxiety when I try, I can't make anything that is alive in blender. Like genuenly anything.(including scugs :<). I am pretty darn new to blender with barely even 1 k hours. I looked at references of Cappins (the creator of the original 3d model found in OE.) Model, I got some inspiration from there.

You can defenetly see the similarities. I took inspiration from a lot of the stuff on Cappins model. Unfortunately I for some reason never figured out that iterator cube is not a cube. It's a uh... Pancake shaped cube. What I also like a lot about Cappins model, is that it's very very well balanced. Perhaps some technical details are questionable but at that scale that can be ignored. I later talked with him. And he explained me the meaning of primary secondary and tertiary detail. Wich is actually very useful. Go google it if you draw or model. As for my model. I'm happy that people like it but I'm not happy how not canon it is compared to other iterators. Perhaps, it's an older model of an iterator. It took me nearly a third of the time cappin took to make his, that explains the quality difference. And we'll he had to start from scratch.

Okay So

i love fucking around and finding out with pasta. its what my dad always did with pasta when i was a kid and it’s so fun. i’ve made some good stuff. tho, i must warn you, this might be some absolute white bs seasoning so feel free to adjust that as needed

the absolute ride or die of pasta recipes that i make at college is called tuna noodle casserole. is it mid? to a degree. but it’s better than the dining hall and it makes good leftovers and you can kinda add whatever you want. this was one that i grew up eating and i think it came out of an ancient cooking light cookbook. here is my version:

what you need: 2 packets of cooked tuna, 1 package of egg noodles, frozen peas/corn/ whatever you really want, 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, some kind of grated/shredded cheese, a decent amount of bread crumbs (like a cup), half a chopped onion, like a cup of milk, a dash of lemon juice or some kind of acid, salt and pepper and whatever else you want for seasoning

preheat oven to ideally 450 but you can also do 350

sauté your onion in your preferred oil until it has some color and smells good

while that’s sautéing boil your egg noodles to just slightly aldente cause you’re gonna bake them eventually

once your onion is sautéed, add in your can of soup, milk, lemon juice, and salt and pepper/whatever else spices you want.

once that’s in a good sauce consistently, take your cooked noodles and put them in some kind of oven safe container. dump the sauce on top of the noodles along with the peas and corn or whatever vegetables you want and your tuna. break up the tuna and you can put in the juices if you want but i never do. mix it around pretty well.

combine your breadcrumbs and your cheese. you can also add seasoning and spice here. i’ve put in old bay before and my boyfriend likes it with his moms balachong. sprinkle over the top evenly.

bake until the top looks crunchy (usually a half hour or so but keep an eye on it)

and that’s it. it tastes decent and it’s good leftovers. making it in a wide pan is best for maximum breadcrumbage. it’s also pretty cheap. i’ve made it for less than 10 dollars before when i’ve bought everything at target.

i’ve also made this funky pasta and sausage thing before a few times. i absolutely invented this based on whatever i had in my measly fridge and what was on sale so.

what you need: a pack of chicken sausage (i had chicken soup sausage but anything works), some chicken soup (a can, a premade thing, i think i had a small cup of wawa chicken soup), pasta of your choice, seasoning, vegetables if you want (carrots, celery), seasoning (i used garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, thyme, worstershire sauce, fish sauce, and dried basil) and an onion/few cloves of garlic if you want

sauté your onion/garlic in your oil if choice

slice your sausage into little coins (i use all 4 links cause my boyfriend is a himbo weight lifter who can and would eat a refrigerator, but 2 is fine for a normal amount) and add it to the pan along with any vegetables

cook until it has some color/ vegetables get soft ish

add in your chicken soup. if you don’t want to add the chicken, you can just add the broth. the sausage shouldn’t be swimming in the broth but it should be nicely covered (you wouldn’t need more than a can)

continue cooking down the broth, ass whatever seasoning you want to make it taste good

while that is happening, boil your pasta

once the pasta is boiled and you have a nice soupy ish sauce going on, add in the cooked pasta. the pasta should soak up the rest of the broth (especially good if you are making this to have leftovers)

and that’s that one. i suppose you could do this with any meat and soup combination.

another good and easy one is basically just some pasta and vegetables that i add some funky chickpeas to. my boyfriend really likes this one cause of the flavors because he is asian and if it doesn’t have flavor he doesn’t want it

what you need: pasta of choice, broccoli or green beans, a can of chickpeas, cheese for putting on top, meat if you want it, cloves of garlic, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, maple syrup, pepper, soy sauce/fish sauce, seasoned salt or regular salt and olive oil.

preheat the oven to 350

open the can of chickpeas and rinse them off, place on a baking sheet covered in foil or parchment paper

combine some garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, seasoned salt soy sauce/fish sauce and maple syrup in a bowl (measurements don’t really matter, we cook with vibes here) in a bowl and then spread over the chickpeas, coating them well

put the chickpeas in the oven, checking on them and rotating them around every 10 minutes. they take about 30 minutes.

boil water for your pasta

chop your garlic and sauté in some olive oil

add the broccoli or green beans and your meat if you’re using meat

once that’s all done put the vegetables in the pasta and top with the chickpeas and some cheese and munch

as far as dessert goes. i’m ukrainian and we mostly just eat whatever generations old recipes my great aunt uses for dessert. but, there is a cranberry bread recipe in the back of the cranberry thanksgiving book that is very very good (esp with cream cheese). my grandma used to always make raspberry squares which were SO GOOD but i don’t have that recipe and we haven’t made them in literal ages.

the cranberry bread:

there is a really good and really simple butter cookie recipe tho that’s like basically three ingredients. i’ve made it gluten free before and it works as long as you have the 1:1 complete flour.

what you need: 2 cups of all purpose flour, 2 sticks of unsalted butter, 1/2 cup to 1 cup of white sugar, a bit of salt

beat the room temp butter and sugar until combined. add in the pinch of salt (can also add in vanilla if u want)

add in the flour little by little

roll out dough on floured surface

cut into shapes and add sprinkles if you want and cook in a 350 oven for 10-15 minutes each batch.

we make these literally every year, they’re perfect for gifts cause they’re easy and not very expensive. everyone loves them. i love them. i’m going to go make a batch now.

hey blog!! soo yesterday was both fun and shitty.

the a thing

so i don't know if we are, but i feel kind of like a and me are drifting apart a little bit? idk. we didn't really talk a lot this week because i went to main st after school like 3 times and the library during lunch, so we didn't see a lot of eachother to be honest.. i dont think we are drifting apart, but i want to ensure that by going to extended more next week.

the n, y and d drama

ok so i leave history class to go to the bathroom, and i see y. we walk in, talking and joking around, whatever. inside the bathroom, n is washing her hands, and y and n start talking. i'm not gonna explain it so here's the gist of what she and y said: d is ugly, she smells bad, and her make up is cakey. i was literally SHOCKED when they said this. i knew y didn't really like her and wasn't friends with her, but i did NOT expect n to say all that! first of all, n literally called d her best friend and her sister from another mother.. THEN SHE TURNS AROUND AND CALLS HER UGLY AND SMELLY? crazy. second of all, i dont know what the hell y is talking abt calling her ugly when y LITERALLY HAD THE FATTEST CRUSH ON HER last year! when i mentioned this, she was like "ok well that was LAST YEAR!" girll... and third of all, they were LYING. d is one of the prettiest girls at the school. also, i hang out with her all the time and she doesn't smell bad... honestly i don't know why they were just making shit up. if n said something like "yeah she's ignoring me and was talking about me behind my back, so i don't like her anymore" i would be fine with that, but they were just talking shit and lying.. like that's boring im sorry. honestly i prefer talking about the rude things people do, that's just more entertaining imo. so anyways, y and n told me not to tell her but uhh why wouldn't i.. they're dumb for that fr. i hung out with d literally all week, and i'd say we're pretty good friends, so why would they talk about her when im right there?? just say ur dumb...

anyway yea so i go back to history and my group for a project goes to the auditorium to practice our presentation, we didn't really practice bc my teacher didn't really care if we worked or not. so i bring p aside so no one can hear us, and i tell her what happened in the bathroom, and we decide to tell d. since we don't have history or spanish with d, we meet up with her at the gym like we planned and n is with her. im literally side eyeing her the WHOLE time because why are you walking with her when you literally were talking shit abt her like an hour ago?? so fake. yeah so me and p are walking d to her car and i start telling her what happened. she seemed kind of pissed, but it didn't really seem like she cared that much, she seemed kind of unbothered. im glad tbh because they were being really rude. but yeah, that's the end of the drama!! that was on thursday and we don't have school today, but i need to remind d on sunday when we go to the mall not to be acting weird around n because if she does, then n will know i told her.

An army of loyal Dunkin’ fans has risen up against their favorite coffee chain after it rolled out a new rewards program that they say makes it more difficult to earn a free drink of their choice.

The previous DD Perks program offered a free drink of any kind at $40 spent. The new Dunkin’ Rewards system, unveiled last week, requires customers to spend $70 to get a free crafted drink such as an espresso, cold brew or refresher. Customers also no longer get a free drink on their birthdays.

Such changes ignited a rowdy discussion on the /DunkinDonuts subreddit, where users vented their frustrations and vowed to ditch the coffee brand they said they were once loyal to. 

“I no longer run on Dunkin,” wrote one Reddit user, referring to the chain’s slogan: “America runs on Dunkin’.”

“Rip dunks, it was nice while you were actually rewarding, even tho you only got my drinks right 1/3 of the time,” the same user added, using an emoji of a gravestone. 

Though it has thousands of locations scattered across the United States, Dunkin’ has long held onto a loyal customer base in the Northeast, where it is headquartered. It’s so beloved there that the recent closing of two Dunkin’ locations in Stow, Massachusetts, left the town in mourning. Since its inception in 1950, the chain has become a go-to for many across the country who rely on it as an affordable coffee fix. 

Dunkin’ has seen the backlash online, but it appears to be sticking to its new plan.

“After a few years, it was time for a change,” the official Dunkin’ account tweeted, in response to one user asking why the company enacted a different rewards system. “We listened to our members’ feedback and made several new enhancements like redeeming points for rewards on food and drinks!”

In a statement to NBC News, Dunkin’ president Scott Murphy elaborated.

“Change is always going to be an adjustment, but in the long run, Dunkin’ loyalists will benefit even more,” Murphy said. “Dunkin’ Rewards is all about choice for our members; with a more dynamic rewards structure where they start earning rewards at a lower spend threshold, they can redeem points for a wider variety of food and beverages and choose when and how they use their points.”

He also referred NBC News to the original press release announcing the rewards. 

Still, many Dunkin’ devotees say they are ditching the brand for good. Some in the Reddit forum said they’ve already uninstalled the app in favor of making coffee at home or switching to a different chain.

“I might just make the switch to Wawa or Starbucks just out of spite,” another Redditor posted. “Thanks Dunkin.”

Others have made posts breaking down the math of exactly how the two programs differ as customers express outrage about the company advertising Dunkin’ Rewards as an upgrade when, to many, it seemed to be the opposite.

“Honestly, this is what pisses me off the most,” a commenter posted. “The changes to the reward program are one thing, but the attempt to gaslight customers into thinking they’re getting a better deal is sickeningly unethical.”

The backlash has spilled over to Twitter, where people continue to rally against Dunkin’ as they lament that their daily coffee is no longer worth buying.

Ryan Gonzalez said he has gotten his coffee from Dunkin’ for eight years. But in the days since its new rewards program took over, the 21-year-old college student has been looking elsewhere for his daily caffeine fix.

Gonzalez, who attends school in the Boston area, said he visited Dunkin’ frequently enough to earn a beverage of choice at least every other week. But now, instead of waiting longer and spending more money for that same free drink, he’s been getting his coffee from the dining hall or making it at home.

“Dunkin’ was always the more affordable, true-to-their-roots coffee chain, especially compared to Starbucks, which is more of a premium coffee chain,” he said. “It’s Dunks. It was a lot more simple. But now it feels like Dunkin’ is trying to become Starbucks and it’s just kind of losing its identity as the brand that I love.”

Knowlton Anderson, who lives in New York City, said where he gets his coffee on any given day typically depends on whichever rewards program will benefit him most. 

Anderson, 22, said Dunkin’ and Starbucks are equidistant from his apartment, but that he’ll be choosing the latter a lot more, as well as trying out more of the city’s local coffee shops.

“I think there’s been such a strong reaction online because Dunkin’ kind of positions itself as the people’s coffee, and this feels very much like a move to drive out the everyday consumer to try to elevate their brand,” Anderson said. “It’s trying to position as if you’re getting more access to better options through this new upgrade, but if you break down the math, it’s pretty clear to see that you’re not.”

Latiesha Perritt, 30, said she would pick up a Dunkin’ coffee three to five times a week on her way to work, often earning a free drink every week. But Peritt, a Sterling, Virginia, resident, said after Dunkin’ made its announcement, she’s planning to roll back how often she buys her coffee rather than making it at home.

Having worked at a Dunkin’ before, Perritt said she’s seen firsthand how strong the customer base is. The same faces returned to the store day after day, she said, so losing their loyalty might come with costly consequences for the company.

“It’s kind of like a slap in the face as a customer,” she said.

Many of those lashing out online say they just hope for a return to the old Dunkin’ plan.

As one Twitter user joked, “i need us all to collectively manifest the downfall of dunkin rewards so they bring back dd perks.”

what would you say were your most needed items while homeless or what items did the people around you need most? sry if this is triggering :/ i understand if you don’t wanna answer. i’m interested in helping homeless people in my hometown if i can

im happy to answer this but for full clarification i was not homeless; i had a home to go back to, i still paid rent on my house, etc. i willingly chose to set up a tent at the homeless encampment in philly and live there for ~6-8 weeks, i spent almost every night there, but at the end of the day if i wanted a hot shower or i wanted my own bed, i could do that. i typically was at the camp 6 nights a week, or stayed for a stretch of a couple weeks at a time, but i did have a home, this was a voluntary decision i made to provide support and patrol/cop watch overnight

all that aside, heres a list of a few things we usually had a need for at the camp, beyond the obvious food/water:

prepaid cell phones, i really consider this at the top of my list because having a way to contact people is essential

hand/feet warmers (depending on your climate)

cigarettes. this is a genuine request, cigarettes are the absolute best way to diffuse tension and calm people down

narcan kits

sleeping bags/pillows/blankets

this sounds dumb but yoga mats. or something to that effect. placing them down on the ground/in your tent before your sleeping bag makes you more comfortable but also helps insulate you

large mens' shoes, we had a few people at the camp with size 14/15 feet and we were always trying to find shoes for them

bug spray!! especially in places where it's hot!!

womens underwear/bras

basic first aid

toiletries like toothbrushes/toothpaste, brushes/combs, etc

bluetooth speakers, headphones

belts. for some reason we always had a shortage of belts

backpacks

mylar blankets, these are REALLLLYYYY important during the winter and cheap to buy in bulk

tents. donating a tent is huge. especially now as it starts getting colder

this is not comprehensive and its really just what was off the top of my head based on what i remember

but i think the best way to help the local homeless community is just to talk to them personally. you will meet some of the kindest people you'll ever know that way, and you can find out exactly what they personally need too. organizations are useful for getting things distributed but spending the time to talk to these people and learn about them is important

living at the camp really drove home the concept to me that the homeless epidemic was not so much as a single entity/problem but rather something afflicting millions of individual people, i had that personal connection and friendship with these people, i learned their coffee order or their favorite brands of cigarettes or what breakfast sandwich they liked at wawa lol. and even tho i was only one person and i could only do so much, being that one person making the effort to talk to and learn about the people who are so often completely ignored was good

if material support isn't always something you can provide, in terms of funds/supplies on a large scale, then emotional support is important too

something i see very often is people asking each other "what can we do to help?" while not thinking to ask individual homeless people "what can i do to help you?" when many times they will be all too happy to tell you what they need

so just talk to people. obviously you can work with local orgs for distribution if that's easiest for you but if you can, if you have the time and can spend the effort, talking to people goes a very long way

And then another is Promising Young Women by @lovebarefootblonde which is a Sons of Anarchy fic, that one gets a 100/10 stars

and idk if i have a favorite season, i like summer but realistically it's too hot anymore for me to enjoy. plus i get eaten alive by mosquitos. and so far i'm still getting bitten by mosquitos even tho it's fall. but i would say either spring or fall are my faves. and yeah, i think the east coast still has actual seasons which is always nice to experience.

If I stay at wawas I'm gonna break down. I knew it had a high turnover rate and that it gets busier in the summer but like DAMN I can't handle this. Maybe if they actually put me on something aside from register or if I had shorter shifts but Holy shit I've had panic attacks at work 2 days in a row and from what I can tell it's gonna get worse. 40 hours a week of nonstop casheir/doordash/cleaning/stocking all at once is fucking nuts. And there's not like a 5 minute break they just keep coming! And we don't get guaranteed breaks like if you're LUCKY you'll get a 15 minute break but now that summers starting it's harder to get them and like. I'm working eight hours fucking he'll.

I did learn I'm good at cleaning and stocking non book items tho. ( ironic with the cleaning. Can't clean my room but I'm fine cleaning wawas) maybe I'll apply to some janitor jobs or something.

Idk. I just. It's so understaffed and busy and nonstop and the stupid shit does NOT stop coming and like. My coworkers and managers are super nice unlike my last job and there's even some queer ones but I haven't bonded with any of them.

But I got two raises!!! Which is...13.50 an hour. Higher than the manager positions at my last job but like. Still Hella exploitation. And we stopped giving out masks and I think they're gonna stop making customers wear them ( not that that's enforced. Half my coworkers don't believe in covid or some shit and 1/5customers wears a mask wrong and one in ten don't wear them and occasionally ill offer someone a mask and they say NO!

Random fact about me: I have very a strong arachnophobia. I absolutely despise spiders. I'll get freaked out just by seen a baby one, the almost transparent one's. But I can get full on panic attack just by someone "suggesting" there "may be one in my person". They might not even be anywhere near me, but just by thinking they would I get into survival mode and fly away and/or punch the face of anyone trying to contain me. And that's how I broke my cousin's nose (and I'm not even sorry, the bastard deserve it)

Aesthetic: Thunderstorm outside. My baby is inside my blankets (between my legs) and my dog is by my feet. We are in the living room and I'm talking with my mom. It's late but I don't want to go to bed just yet. A thunder scares them, but I'm here and they're cozy, so everything is ok. We're drinking coffee and the rain is falling hard outside but the chickens are in their coop and I build that coop so I'm confident in its strength, so everything it's ok. Sometimes a car would pass and we would make silence to make sure they pass without accidents, but they pass, and we continue.
