Hello! I'm both surprised and touched that this song reminded you of Wulfebound, and I completely agree!

This song is so, so good. It's perfect, actually, I've kept it on repeat when I'm editing. I love the dark mood so much and the first few rifts hit the hardest.

And you're right! Kit's entire arc is grappling with the truth of the past chained to their neck, and trying to live in the moment as it continues to tighten its grip on them. They are a ghost of themself, really, and that can feel a lot like living a lie.

Warner Brothers label ‘arrows’ 7″ paper sleeve (1960-19??)

This Warner Brothers sleeve gets to me. It’s the music equivalent to film leads, tails, and countdowns. Who envisions these designs? Where do they originate and why? And why does old vintage episodes of Name That Tune come to mind? 

The paper insert gets to you every time you look at it, as if the arrows are telling you something - to pay attention to who’s on the record. It’s an ingenious design that works every time. There’s also that deep red Warner Brothers seal, so you also can’t help to think that those arrows all point to Porky Pig when (not ‘if’) he bursts through that window with his left arm up in the air. (”That’s all, folks!”)

then a fan commented that XZ sang this in our song before ( not main performance ) and someone found a recording. did he discover the song because of that? was it on zz’s playlist at some point in the past and became his fave?

Fans are thinking about how this relates to what’s been happening in the past few ways. The way we have speculated about 11/19 and WYB acting as the mystery driver again. Then him sharing a post on his weibo. One night in Beijing? Does he love that particular title cause it sometimes describes their meetings? They are often busy and one night is all they can get.

People are also pointing out the change in ZZ’s work schedule today. His LOCH sched starts early and ends in the evening or very late but the 5:30-6:00 AM call time for him is almost fixed. Yesterday, 11/22, WYB posts and we think they are together. What happens today? ZZ comes in “late” to work at 11:30 AM. So why the change? Was he spending time with Bobo? This reminds me of that time he was out of his schedule too when Bobo was sick.

The photos shared are behind the scenes content from ad shoots but the contrast of the photos stands out. Day & Night. The kadian they use, 14:23 loving zhan forever. Which goes to show that they do use it!

I've been very into Alvvays lately and wanted to share this gem aka THEE Lorelai Gilmore teen anthem!

Can't explain my ankle sprain I didn't really feel it New dress could turn your head But how long til we reel it in? Paradise and I find myself paralyzed Knowing all too well

The song describes a young woman making impulsive decisions with a man they've gotten carried away with. It paints a picture of a very Lorelai and Christopher kind of relationship where the girl enjoys the freedom, impulse, attention and sense of a private, escapist world with this person before reality comes crashing down around them. It's a relationship with a set timer, ticking along until its inevitable conclusion.

I love the line about not even feeling your ankle sprain - running around having fun, being silly, and causing little consequences for yourself, but they're ignorable or very low-stakes. At least at first. Feels so apt for teen Lorelai, who was rebelling from her controlling upbringing and beginning to mess around with alcohol and sex. Youthful cries for attention and unconditional love.

"Blue Rev" is a low brow vodka-based cola drink - think Zima. Reckless teens underage drinking behind a skating rink, confronting the reality of a pregnancy and the girl's decision to take control of the situation. The boy's reaction described as "circumspect" or wary, unwilling to take the risk while the girl takes it as an opportunity to find her own way, even though she's scared - sooo Christopher and Lorelai. He enjoys fucking around but ultimately prefers the gilded cage to the unknown on the other side.

One of my favorite themes in Gilmore Girls is how Lorelai took this classic ball-and-chain, life-ending symbol of an accidental teen pregnancy and saw it as a chance to strike out on her own, burn her life to the ground, and completely rebuild from scratch. Fans sometimes wonder why no one on this show ever seemed to seriously consider abortion (stubbornly ignoring that this was early 2000s WB and simply not an option unless it was for a total villain), especially for Lorelai who seemed so liberal, but she loved having this excuse to finally cut her own cord. It was an opportunity for her rather than a metaphorical death sentence.

"Moving to the country" with a blue-collar service job where you work with your hands... word getting around a gossipy small town... come on! Too good.

Also a cute reference to Jess's personal Stars Hollow anthem "This Is Hell" by Elvis Costello. You know how much I love a Lorelai/Jess parallel. ;) What was escapist heaven to her was banished hell to him.

It's doesn't hurt that Alvvay's dreamy, sentimental indie-pop sound feels right at home on any GG-inspired playlist. I like to think they'd make the cut on a Lane Kim mix CD.

Hey! I apologize if this has been discussed before and if it has please point me to it! I’m curious if anyone has theorized on the possible connections between Taylor, The Beatles (Paul) and Karlie. I’ve been thinking of it more as there is a resurfacing discussion around WB potentially being Paul, especially in light of Taylor liking that tweet. We know that Karlie has spent time with Paul and his family via photos and Elijah’s middle name is Jude (Made me think of Hey Jude - a song written by Paul for the Beatles). Karlie also has that Beatles baby playlist on her Spotify. Basically I guess I’m just wondering if there are any theories on the connection between it all!
