masterlist

ten years ago.
the music was too loud. bass trembling through drywall, laughter cracking like glass, the dry arizona air thick with weed and cheap beer. kids pressed shoulder to shoulder inside the house, red solo cups raised high like a toast to their invincibility.
auston stayed outside.
he’d slipped through the sliding glass doors maybe ten minutes ago, baseball cap pulled low and a half-empty bottle of water in his hand—already tired of the noise, of the heat, of the way everyone seemed to be crashing into each other like waves with no direction. he didn’t smoke. didn’t really drink either, not tonight. coach told him to keep his head on straight before nationals testing, and for once, auston actually listened.
the backyard was dim, scattered with string lights sagging between the trees. most people were inside or huddled around the pool, but she was there.
y/n.
sitting on the edge of the old wooden deck, knees pulled up to her chest, curls catching in the warm breeze. her eyes were somewhere else—fixed on the horizon or maybe just nowhere at all. auston recognized her instantly, of course. they’d known each other since kindergarten. same neighborhood, same classes, same birthday parties where their moms used to make them take awkward pictures together.
but tonight… she looked different. maybe it was the distance, the quiet, the way she wasn’t pretending to be a part of the chaos. or maybe it was the way her smile was gone.
he hesitated, thumb tracing the edge of his water bottle. he shouldn’t.
but then he sat down beside her.
“you hiding too?” he asked, his voice low, like the night might shatter if he spoke too loud.
she didn’t flinch. just turned slightly, her eyes meeting his. “something like that.”
they sat there, not talking for a moment. the silence stretched between them, soft and unbothered.
“trent’s inside,” auston said after a while, not looking at her. “doing jello shots off someone’s stomach, i think.”
she laughed, just barely. it was dry and tired. “figures.”
“you okay?”
she shrugged. “i don’t like these things. too many people pretending they’re happier than they are.”
auston nodded. yeah. he felt that.
“so why’d you come?” he asked before he could stop himself.
she turned to him, their shoulders grazing. “honestly?” her voice was quieter now. “this is usually trent’s scene. so when he picked me up to go out, i felt like i couldn’t say no.”
they didn’t say much after that. just… sat. close but not touching, the wooden deck creaking under them, the party distant like it belonged to someone else’s life. occasionally, he glanced at her, watched the way she twirled a ring around her finger. her nails were chipped. her eyes held too much for someone their age.
he shouldn’t have looked at her the way he did. she was trent’s girl. trent, his teammate, his friend.
but for a second, he wondered what it would be like if she wasn’t.
then he shut the thought down so fast it almost hurt.
they sat in the far corner of the backyard, backs against the stucco wall, red solo cups long forgotten in the grass. the music thumped behind them, too loud and too messy, someone yelling out the chorus to a drake song like it was a war cry. but here, tucked away from it all, it felt like a different night entirely.
“so i didn’t see you around much this summer,” she said, “compared to the usual awkward run-ins with our moms.”
“yeah. hockey got busy.”
she met his eyes and blinked like she had forgotten. “oh, yeah. you play hockey. i almost forgot.”
he chuckled lightly. “it’s fine. hockey’s not big here anyway.”
she nudged him gently. “you’re kind of an anomaly. desert boy playing hockey.”
“you’d be surprised. there are a few guys who play around here. it’s definitely not ideal. most guys like me play baseball too, just in case.”
“must be hard balancing two sports.”
“i’m actually quitting baseball,” he said. “hockey’s getting more hectic. i need to put all my effort into the national program.”
her eyebrows rose. “really? does trent know? you know how seriously he takes it.”
“i haven’t told him,” auston admitted. “didn’t think it was that serious. but i guess i’ll have to eventually.”
they both looked toward the house, where trent was dancing with other girls, drinks in hand. auston caught y/n’s expression—not jealousy, not exactly. more like… detachment. like she wasn’t interested in what trent was doing at all, but rather what auston was saying.
“good for you,” she said after a beat. “he can finally stop complaining about how much better you are.”
auston looked over at her. “you really never been to a hockey game?”
y/n made a face. “i live in arizona, auston. i barely even know where your rink is.”
“we play at a rink. it’s in the arena.”
“see?” she laughed, tilting her head. “you lost me already.”
he shook his head, smiling into the brim of his cup. “you knew i played, right?”
“i know you disappear every weekend and come back with bruises.”
“it’s not like that.”
“then what’s it like?”
he looked at her, really looked. “it’s… fast. and cold. and loud. and it’s the only place i feel like i can breathe.”
she blinked at that, a little surprised. her teasing smile faltered just slightly. “that’s kind of beautiful.”
he scoffed. “don’t make it weird.”
“you made it weird, puck boy. i just responded.”
he laughed under his breath, head falling back against the wall. “puck boy is wild.”
“well, what else do i call you?”
“auston works.”
“nah,” she said, grinning. “too boring.”
“coming from the girl who supports the cardinals.”
“hey.” she pointed at him. “low blow.”
“just facts.”
“i’ve been loyal. it runs in the family. doesn’t matter that they haven’t made it worth it.”
he smiled, raising his eyebrows. “so you’re into heartbreak.”
“apparently.”
they shared a glance, something soft and suspended between them, until she shifted her legs and pulled her sleeves down over her hands.
“you ever get cold at practice?” she asked.
“all the time.”
“do they give you gloves or something?”
“yeah. gear, skates, helmet, whole thing. i look insane.”
“so like… armor?”
he laughed. “sure. hockey armor.”
she looked out toward the pool, voice light “i really don’t know anything about it, you know? trent plays baseball with you, and even then he says you come back after weeks off and still hit better than him. it drives him insane.”
“he hates that,” auston grinned.
“yeah, he does.”
“do you think you’re like… whatever the hockey equivalent to michael jordan is?” she asked after a beat.
he paused. considered. “that would be greatly and definitely not. but maybe not yet.”
she smirked. “confident.”
“i have to be.”
“you really wanna go pro?”
“more than anything.”
“like nhl?”
“yeah.”
“you think that’ll happen?”
he turned toward her, eyes clearer than the dark could hide. “i’m gonna make it happen.”
there was something in the way he said it. no fluff. no cockiness. just certainty.
she watched him for a beat, then gave a small smile. “i hope you do.”
his mouth twitched, barely a smile. “you’ll be watching football, though.”
“only if the cards somehow win a ring.”
“so never?”
“exactly.”
they both laughed, and this time, it echoed softly around them, folding into the sounds of the party they were choosing not to return to. she hugged her knees to her chest, gaze flicking toward the pool where a couple people were jumping in fully clothed, shouting nonsense.
“senior year’s gonna be weird,” she murmured.
“yeah.”
“you leaving?” she asked.
“probably.”
she didn’t ask where. maybe because it didn’t matter. maybe because she already knew he’d be off somewhere cold.
“i don’t know what i’m doing yet,” she said. “college, maybe. maybe not.”
“you’ll figure it out.”
“you sound so sure.”
“you just seem like someone who will.”
she blinked, the comment slipping under her skin. warm. unexpected.
“thanks,” she said, voice barely above the hum of the wind.
they sat in the quiet again. the kind that only happens with someone you’ve known your whole life but somehow are still just beginning to see.
“you ever think about how crazy it is?” he said suddenly.
“what?”
“we’ve known each other since kindergarten and we’ve never had a real conversation.”
she gave a soft breath of a laugh. “you were always the loud one. and i was always hiding behind someone taller.”
“you’re not hiding tonight.”
“maybe i am,” she said, eyes flicking toward the door. “you just found the same spot.”
“maybe we can hide together,” he offered.
he looked at her for a long moment. the kind of look he shouldn’t give—not with who she was to someone else. not with trent’s voice echoing from the kitchen, probably mid beer pong victory chant.
but still, he didn’t look away. neither did she.
“this doesn’t count,” she said quietly. “us talking. it’s just the backyard.”
“right,” he said, just as quietly. “just the backyard.”
but neither of them moved.
that night, when the party finally began to die and the sky took on that deep indigo shade that only came after three in the morning, they were still out there.
still not touching. still not talking much. but not leaving either.
auston didn’t know what time it was when she finally leaned her head onto his shoulder, casual like it meant nothing, like it was just the most natural thing in the world. maybe it was. maybe it wasn’t. he didn’t ask. he didn’t move.
the world had quieted around them, laughter turning into tired murmurs, music reduced to a dull thump behind closed windows. sprinklers clicked on somewhere down the street, hissing softly into the dry earth.
she let out a sigh, not sad, not happy—just full of everything she hadn’t said that night.
and he felt it.
he wondered if this would be one of those moments he’d look back on and remember in perfect clarity. the ones that didn’t seem important until years later, when everything had changed and you realized that was the moment before.
before the shift. before the what-ifs. before the lines blurred.
she was still trent’s girl.
but for a few hours, on a creaking wooden deck under sagging string lights, she wasn’t.
and he let himself want the impossible. just for a little while. just for the night. just for then.
before the world came back. before the sun rose. before they had to pretend again.

the boards didn’t give. they never did. he knew that. felt it.
his shoulder cracked against the glass as if it were the only thing trying to hold him upright, but the breath left his lungs in one harsh burst. the crowd barely reacted — a dull roar, tired applause — because none of it mattered now. they were out. again.
he shoved off the boards, wincing at the tightness in his ribs. his legs burned with every stride, but he kept skating. always kept skating.
eight years in the league and he still wasn’t used to the sting of elimination. but his body was used to everything else now — the bruises, the cold, the repetition. the expectations. especially the cold.
toronto had toughened him. years of walking from team bus to arena through frozen wind tunnels, face buried in scarf, fans screaming his name from behind barriers. the snow didn’t faze him anymore. neither did the noise.
practice ended in a quiet slump, sticks dragging along the ice, a few muttered jokes that didn’t quite land. the weight of another failed run hung thick above them. this wasn’t just tired legs. it was a tired soul kind of loss. the kind that makes your chest hollow.
coach berube stepped onto the bench, arms crossed. the look in his eyes wasn’t disappointment. not exactly. it was something more hollow. expectation unmet. belief wasted.
“you guys worked your asses off,” berube said, loud enough for the silence to sit up and listen. “i’m not gonna stand here and act like that didn’t matter. it did. but this league doesn’t hand out banners for effort. and if you’re gonna wear this jersey next season, you better come back starving.”
auston leaned against his stick, breathing steady, eyes forward. he already was starving.
“go rest. heal. get your heads right,” the coach added. “and when you come back… make sure you remember this feeling.
he stepped off the ice without another word.
auston stayed a little longer. captain duties, even when no one asked him to. he skated over to a few of the younger guys, tapped gloves, murmured a few quiet words. nothing heavy. just enough to make them feel seen.
by the time they hit the locker room, the weight of the season seemed to shed a little — not gone, but loosening at the seams. towels wrapped. gear peeled off. the familiar scent of sweat, ice, and liniment hung in the air like always.
“you heading straight to arizona?” morgan asked, dropping beside him on the bench.
“friday morning. my family already left after the game with felix,” auston said, tugging off his shoulder pads. “can’t wait to get outta the cold for a bit.”
“you like the cold now, don’t lie.”
“i am use to it,” auston said, smirking. “but nothing beats the desert.”
“gonna lay low with felix?”
“yeah. my mom’s already sending me a list of things she wants done around the house. i’m basically being put to work.”
someone else piped up from across the room — bobby, hair still wet, always too loud. “work? bro, you’re gonna be surrounded by scottsdale girls in bikinis five minutes after landing.”
auston shook his head, snorting. “i said home. not a pool party.”
“man, if i had your face and that contract, i wouldn’t be at home.”
“he’s not wrong,” came another voice, and laughter rippled through the room.
auston leaned back, towel around his neck, arms resting on his knees. he’d gotten used to this — being the punchline of every comment about his love life (or lack thereof) like he was still in his twenties. like he hadn’t seen more people throw themselves at him than he could count. and yeah, sometimes he indulged.
it was easy. too easy.
but none of it stuck. but he couldn’t help it when he saw his teammates and their partners he was left with the lingering question of what if? he struggled to ignore the twist in his gut with how much he craved the same love they shared.
he blinked the thought away, let it get swallowed by the buzz of voices.
“you’re the only one left,” morgan said quietly beside him. “everyone else is married. or close.”
auston smiled without meaning it. “yeah, well. not really in the market.”
“you’re not even window shopping, huh?”
“not lately.”
he didn’t add that he hadn’t even looked twice in months. that he’d grown so used to the empty space next to him that it started to feel normal. and maybe that was the worst part — how normal it felt to come home to no one.
he ran a hand through his hair, pushed up from the bench, and started gathering his things. the weight of the “c” on his chest didn’t feel any lighter, even now that the season was over.
but in arizona, at least there were no cameras waiting. no questions. just desert air, his family, and felix. no schedules. no noise. just time — and he was starting to think that might be the only thing he really needed.

auston’s flight touched down in phoenix earlier than expected, but stepping off the plane, he felt every bit as drained as if he’d run a marathon. the familiar arizona heat wrapped around him like a heavy blanket, but it did little to shake the exhaustion that clung to his bones. the playoffs had ended too soon, and the sting of elimination still lingered, dull but persistent. as he pushed through the crowd, searching for the familiar face waiting for him, relief flickered when he saw alex waving by the curb, a grin already lighting up her face.
“about time,” she teased as he climbed into the passenger seat of her car, “thought you’d never make it.”
he offered a tired smile, sliding in beside her. “planes were delayed, actually got out earlier than i thought.”
alex glanced back at felix in the backseat, who was already wagging his tail excitedly. “and here’s your real welcome home committee. can’t have you coming back empty-handed after all that.”
auston chuckled softly, the first real sound he’d made all day. “yeah, he’s the only one who makes this feel like home sometimes.”
alex studied him in the rearview mirror, picking up on the weight he carried. “you okay, little bro? i mean, i know the playoffs didn’t go how you wanted.”
he shrugged, running a hand through his hair. “yeah, it sucks. feels like a long season just ended too soon. sometimes i wonder if all this—the pressure, the spotlight—if it’s really worth it.”
alex’s voice softened. “you ever think about taking a step back? maybe not rushing back into everything?”
he looked out the window, watching the desert blur past. “i don’t really have a choice. expectations don’t pause just because i’m tired.”
she smiled knowingly. “i get it. but hey, you never brought anyone home before, huh?”
auston blinked, caught off guard by the question. “what?”
alex laughed, nudging him gently. “seriously. not once. this place, this family—rarely got to see the people you care about.”
he looked down, fiddling with the hem of his shirt. “guess i never figured it was time. or maybe i was just waiting for the right reason.”
“well,” alex said, shifting gears as they turned onto the familiar neighborhood streets, “i’m glad you’re home now. mom’s been ready to spoil you since the day you left.”
pulling into the driveway, their parents were already waiting, smiles wide and arms open. auston’s mom enveloped him in a warm hug, squeezing him just enough to show she cared without overwhelming.
“we missed you,” she whispered.
he smiled tiredly, “missed you guys too.”
“take a nap if you need it,” his dad said, clapping him on the back. “but don’t get too comfortable—we’ve got plans.”
auston groaned good-naturedly as he peeled off his jacket. “yeah, yeah, i know.”
his mom grinned and called after him as he headed upstairs, “felix has an appointment this afternoon. change and take him, okay?”
he paused, turning back just as she teased in spanish, “es tu hijo, tienes que cuidarlo.” he is is your son. you have to take care of him
auston nodded, his exhaustion making it hard to formulate a proper reply, but the meaning was clear—and it made him smile.
auston sank down onto his bed, letting out a long breath as felix immediately jumped up beside him, curling close like he sensed auston needed the company. the dog’s warm fur pressed against his side, and auston couldn’t help but smile despite the heaviness he felt.
“hey, buddy,” he murmured, running a hand gently over felix’s head. “long day, huh?”
felix let out a soft whine, resting his head on auston’s chest, tail thumping quietly.
“yeah, i know. playoffs sucked. sometimes it feels like the whole world’s watching and expecting, and it’s just... too much.”
felix shifted, nuzzling closer, like he understood without words.
“you ever get tired of all the noise?” auston asked, eyes closing slowly. “i swear you’re the only one who doesn’t judge me when i just want to be quiet.”
the dog’s paws stretched over auston’s stomach as if giving a hug, and auston chuckled softly.
“you’re a good guy, felix. way better than most people i know.”
felix gave a little bark, almost like a laugh, before settling completely, his breathing slow and steady.
“alright, buddy. nap time. but don’t go anywhere, okay? i need you here.”
with felix curled up beside him, auston felt the tight knot of stress loosen just a little. as his eyes fluttered closed, the steady warmth of felix’s body was a small comfort, a quiet reminder that some things—some bonds—don’t change, no matter how far you go.
after a quick shower and change, he found felix waiting eagerly in the living room. kneeling down, auston ran a hand through the dog’s soft fur, feeling the familiar, uncomplicated comfort only a loyal companion could offer. the world might be heavy, but for this moment, it was just him and felix, and that was enough.

y/n pushed open the glass doors of mesa animal care just as the morning sun filtered softly through the windows, casting warm light across the quiet clinic. the heat of arizona was already building outside, but inside, the cool calm felt like a small comfort. she adjusted her cardigan, pulling it a little tighter around her. she didn’t have pets herself—never had—but she loved animals in a way that didn’t need owning. there was something simple about them, no expectations, no judgment, just pure presence. that was enough for her.
at the front desk, the receptionists greeted her with their usual teasing smiles. “i see you still didn’t throw that out after missing the playoffs, y/n,” one said, nudging the other. “still rooting for them, huh?”
y/n rolled her eyes but smiled back. “can’t be worse than your toxic relationship with the cowboys. they haven’t won since before your hair turned grey, old man .”
dr. murray, the clinic’s gruff senior vet, poked his head out from the back hallway. “hey, cardinals fan, your patient’s here for immunizations.”
“which one?” y/n asked, already grabbing her clipboard.
“felix,” he said. “and the owner’s here too.”
she nodded and made her way down the hall, still not putting it together. she hadn’t expected to see auston matthews here—not after all this time. her mind flickered back to that night years ago, a memory she thought she’d tucked away.
when she pushed open the door, the room was quiet except for the soft panting of a golden retriever resting calmly on the exam table. a man sat beside the dog, his back to her, fingers gently stroking the fur. she smiled softly and introduced herself, “hi, i’m dr. l/n. i’ll be taking care of felix today.”
he shifted slightly and then slowly turned around. her breath caught. auston. it had been years since senior year ended, since they’d last spoken, but here he was—older, quieter, but unmistakably him. for a moment, neither of them said anything. just held the space between the past and the present. finally, she managed a small, surprised smile. “auston.”

If You | Kwon Ji-yong (G-Dragon)

Summary: You feel like you come second to Jiyong's career. Will he be able to fix it before it's too late? Word Count: 1.8k Warnings: angst, mentions of drinking/partying I think that’s it? Author's Note: So excited to be participating in the Made event this month! Here is track 5. You can check out the event list here to see what's been written and what else is to come!
It had been happening for a while, Jiyong could feel you slipping away. You didn’t cuddle up next to him at night, hardly greated him when he came home. You were barely interested in anything he had to say, but still he tried. He guessed because he was a masochist. He also loved you, despite it all.
He needed to find a way to turn this around, to keep you from leaving somehow. You were the best thing that ever happened to him, he couldn’t lose you. He’d left work early setting up the kitchen table with candles and flowers. He was in the middle of pouring wine, the take out had already been plated when you walked in the door.
“What’s all this?” You asked with raised brows, clearly shocked.
“I thought we could have a nice dinner. Maybe watch a movie - or whatever you want.” Jiyong set the bottle down, walking over to you.
“You cooked?” He scoffed, pulling you in for a hug.
“I’m not trying to kill you. I ordered in.” You didn’t move to hug him back.
When was the last time he’d done something like this? You couldn’t remember. You knew what you’d signed up for, dating one of the biggest names in K-pop, but you hadn’t expected to feel as lonely as you did. Jiyong released you from his arms, placing a kiss to your lips before walking you over to the table. He pulled out your chair for you, even. He was trying. But it was just a little too late.
You sat down with a small smile, taking a sip from your glass.
“How was your day?”
“I think we should break up.”
You both spoke at the same time. Jiyong blinked, letting your words sink in. This is what he’d feared. With a small nod he sat back in his chair, his fingers drumming on the table.
“Okay.” He said slowly, his eyes staying on you. “Why?”
You stared at him for a minute, sitting up straighter in your seat as you sat your glass down. How do you explain to someone that you always feel alone, even in their presence? How do you tell someone that you’re not leaving because you don’t love them anymore but because you haven’t felt loved in so long that you feel like you’ll whither away if you stay another day?
“Because it’s not good anymore.” You ushered between the two of you. “We haven’t been good for a while, Ji.”
“There’s nothing I can do to make you stay?”
“No.” You gave him a sad smile before standing up. “I’m staying with a friend tonight, I’ll come back for my stuff once you’ve left for Japan.” You walked over to him, placing a kiss on his cheek. “Bye Ji.”
Jiyong stared at the door long after you’d walked out of it. You’d been everything to him and now you were gone. He imagined he’d never see you again, he couldn’t wrap his mind around that one. You’d been his constant in this world of chaos and now he was just supposed to let you go? He should’ve done better while he’d had you.
∘•···············•∘ʚ ♡ ɞ∘•················•∘
Jiyong had left for tour and you’d gone back to the life you’d lived before meeting him. Jiyong would reach for his phone to text you whenever someone did something dumb and then he’d remember there was no you to text anymore. He really should just remove you from his contacts, maybe that would make the temptation go away. As time went on he figured he’d miss you less, the ache in his chest would fade away, but he’d been wrong. He wanted you, he would always want you.
You were trying your best to move on. You hadn’t expected it to hurt this much, considering you were the one that had wanted to end it. You’d tried going out on dates but nobody was Jiyong. You were starting to think that maybe you’d overreacted just a little. Maybe you hadn’t been as lonely as you thought, because this was killing you. But as time went on the lack of contact had confirmed what you’d assumed when you’d left. He didn’t love you. If he did, surely he would’ve reached out by now.
He’d been about to text you, fresh off the stage, adrenaline running through his veins. He needed to tell you what happened out there. How funny it had been, how he knew you’d appreciate it had you been there. But then Instagram popped up. You were with some other guy. He nearly threw his phone across the room, his heart shattering all over again. How was this so easy for you?
“Hey. Some of us are going out for drinks, you should come.” Ji-woo, one of the dancers, popped her head in the room.
“Yeah. Yeah, sounds good.” Jiyong grabbed his things and followed Ji-woo out.
The night had started off innocently enough, Jiyong not the type to cross that line with co-workers, but as the drinks flowed, he’d gotten a bit more responsive to Ji-woo’s advances. So much so that when he woke up in the morning he wasn’t even surprised to find her laying next to him. If you could move on, he had every right to do the same. It hadn’t worked though. The entire night he’d spent with her he’d compared her to you. He was starting to think he’d never get over you.
That didn’t stop him from trying. He spent most nights with Ji-woo until he was sure she wasn’t the answer to his problems. The rest of the tour ended with him in bed with different girls in different cities. The guys were worried about him but would never speak on it.
Once he was home though, all the effort he’d tried to make faded. The apartment was too empty without you and all your things there. As much as he’d hated your style he wished for it back. He plopped down on the couch with a sigh, letting the loneliness consume him as memories of you came flooding back.
Jiyong stopped in his tracks as he entered the apartment. He knew you were unpacking your things while he was at rehearsals but he hadn’t been expecting all of this. There were pops of you everywhere, the pink fluffy blanket, whatever the hell that creature was on the coffee table, all your books scattered around. He smirked as he walked over, picking up one of the miniature gargoyle statues.
“This is hideous.” He teased, holding it up in the air.
“Don’t talk about him like that.” You glared as you attempted to grab it from him. “He’s precious.”
Jiyong snorted as he held it just out of reach, spinning around to see what other damage had been done to your now shared apartment. Spotting the movie collection, he raised a brow, walking over to it. It was no secret he was big into film and had always judged your taste in the past. But seeing them next to his caused him to laugh.
“We have to do something about this.” He smirked as he handed the collectible to you.
“My taste in movies is perfectly fine.” You folded your arms as you moved to stand in front of the movies. “You wanted this.”
“I didn’t realize how pink it would be.” He shuddered as he looked around the room.
“Wait until you see the bedroom.” You teased.
“What did you do to the bedroom?” He practically ran into the room, finding it completely untouched and let out a groan as he walked back into the living room. “That wasn’t cool.”
“No. But it was funny.” You laughed as you placed the gargoyle back down.
“Are you messing with me?” He raised a brow and you snorted.
Yes, you’d moved your stuff in but you’d picked up some interesting items from a local thrift shop just to prank him. He was too uptight sometimes, needed a little bit of chaos in the perfection that was his apartment. You nodded your head with a laugh and he rolled his eyes.
“Okay, that’s it.” He walked over to you, picking you up and throwing you over his shoulder.
“Jiyong!” You laughed as he carried you off to the room.
He looked around the room with a sigh. He’d give anything to have your hideous things back in his apartment. He should’ve appreciated what he’d had before he’d lost it all. Maybe one day you’d give him another chance, not that he’d blame you if you didn’t.
∘•···············•∘ʚ ♡ ɞ∘•················•∘
A late night hankering for some spicy ramen had brought you over to where Jiyong lived. You’d been avoiding this side of town since the split, but when cravings called you couldn’t ignore it. You doubted he’d even be in town or at the ramen place anyway. So you’d walked in head held high and then stopped in your tracks when you saw him. And of course he wasn’t alone. Seunghyun and Youngbae sat with him, laughing. They hadn’t noticed you.
You snuck over to the counter, ordering quietly but then you heard your name. You let out a sigh as you turned around to face the guys. Jiyong was staring at you like he’d seen a ghost. Seunghyun nudged him and he blinked before standing up. He was heading your way. Great.
“Hi.” His eyes didn’t quite reach yours and you nodded.
“Hi Jiyong.” You turned to wave to the guys before looking at him. He looked awful. Run down, thin. “How are you?”
“Great.” He lied, shoving his hands into his pockets. “How are you?”
“Yeah, you look it.” You snorted, causing his eyes to snap to yours. “I’m great though. Just wanted some ramen. Didn’t expect you to be here.”
“Ah yeah. They dragged me out.” He smiled at you, and you tried to ignore the way your heart fluttered. “It’s good to see you.”
“Yeah, you too.” Your name was called and you turned to grab your food.
“Big appetite these days?” Jiyong joked as he took in the size of the carry out bag.
“It’s not all for me.” You paused. “I’m seeing someone.”
“Oh.” Jiyong already knew of course, but he wasn’t going to let you know he still followed your instagram. “That’s good. Happy for you.” He scratched the back of his head. “I should get back to them.”
“Yeah, see you around.” You waved before heading out the door.
He watched you go, standing in the same spot until he couldn’t see you from the door anymore. His head hung low as he walked back over to his friends. There was no point in talking as Jiyong finished his noodles. Seunghyn and Youngbae made sure he got home okay and Jiyong was alone again.
He wondered if this was how you’d felt before you left him. If it was, he really was the worst person in the world. He poured himself a drink before making his way to his bedroom. Lounging out on the bed, he took a sip and pulled out his phone. It was time to let you go. He clicked on his contacts and deleted you out before moving to instagram and unfollowing you. Now maybe he could move on too.

Backseat Confessions

bsf!Rafe x bsf!Reader
cw: smut, piv, oral (f. rec), unprotected sex
mdni 18+
Summary: A late-night drive with your best friend turns into something filthy and unforgettable when years of tension finally snap in the backseat of his truck and Rafe makes it clear he’s done pretending you’re just friends.
⸻
The truck was too quiet.
Engine ticking softly in the heat-soaked silence, windows cracked just enough to let in the summer air. My thighs stuck to the leather of the passenger seat as I shifted, trying to ignore the way Rafe kept glancing at me every few seconds — like he was waiting.
Like he knew.
We hadn’t even planned to go anywhere. Just ended up driving around after the bonfire like we always did, the two of us laughing too loud, avoiding the weight of everything that hung heavy in the pauses. His music low, my feet on the dash. Same routine we’ve had since we were sixteen.
But tonight was different.
“Why’re you all quiet now?” Rafe’s voice cut through the stillness, low and cocky. “You were talkin’ my ear off ten minutes ago.”
I glanced at him, heart ticking faster. “I’m not quiet.”
He smirked like he didn’t believe me. One hand on the wheel, the other resting on the console — close enough to touch. “Yeah, you are. You only get quiet when you’re thinking about doing something you shouldn’t.”
I swallowed hard. “Do you always have to say shit like that?”
He leaned back in his seat, turning his head to look at me fully now. That lazy grin. That look in his eyes — like he was already inside my head and had no plans of leaving.
“What, am I wrong?” His voice dropped. “Tell me I’m wrong, baby.”
I hated the way he said that. Baby. Like it meant nothing and everything at once. Like it was some inside joke between us and I was the only one laughing nervously at the punchline.
I looked out the window. “You think you know everything.”
“I know you.”
The air thickened.
“You been squirming in that seat since we left the party. Wearing that little dress—” he dragged his tongue over his bottom lip. “Knew I shouldn’t’ve let you leave the house lookin’ like that.”
I turned to him slowly. “Let me?”
His smirk widened. “You know what I mean. All those guys staring at you and you still ran back to me the second it was over. Wonder why that is.”
I hated how much I loved hearing it — the me in his voice, all cocky and territorial. I didn’t answer. I didn’t have to.
Rafe leaned closer, voice low and dirty. “Bet you’re soaked, aren’t you?”
I choked on my breath.
His hand slid across the seat and landed on my bare thigh, hot and possessive. “C’mon, don’t lie to me now. You been sittin’ over there all quiet, all flustered — got that look on your face like you want me to do something about it.”
“You’re not serious.”
His hand crept higher.
I shivered when his fingertips brushed beneath the hem of my dress. He raised a brow, daring me to stop him — knowing I wouldn’t.
“You gonna make me check for myself?”
God, he was filthy. Shameless and smug, and I loved it. Loved the way he looked at me like I was his even if we’d never said the words out loud. Not just friends, not yet lovers. Just two people tangled in something too hot to name.
“You’re all talk,” I muttered.
That did it.
Rafe shifted fast, climbing over the console with zero hesitation, forcing me back against the door as his mouth crashed into mine. Hot. Desperate. Possessive.
I gasped when his hand cupped me over my panties, his thumb pressing right where I needed it. “Yeah?” he growled against my mouth. “Still think I’m all talk now?”
“Fuck—Rafe—”
His fingers moved with purpose, slow and taunting. “You wore this little dress just to tease me, didn’t you?” His lips trailed down my jaw. “Knew you weren’t wearing a bra the second I looked at you.”
I whimpered when he pinched my nipple through the fabric, making me arch into his touch.
“Look at you,” he whispered. “Always actin’ like you don’t want me, then you let me touch you like this. So fuckin’ easy for me.”
“You’re such an asshole,” I breathed.
He smirked. “Still lettin’ me feel how wet you are, though.”
He slid my panties to the side and dipped two fingers into me in one slow, slick motion. I gasped, nails digging into his arm.
“That’s it,” he murmured, curling them just right. “So fuckin’ tight. Been thinking about this for months. You have no idea.”
“Then why didn’t you do something?” I whispered, breath shaky as he fucked me slow with his fingers.
“Didn’t wanna ruin it.” His mouth found my neck, tongue dragging over my pulse. “Didn’t wanna fuck it up.”
“You already did,” I moaned. “The second you touched me.”
He pulled back just enough to look at me. “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” I breathed.
He pulled his fingers out and sucked them clean, slow and filthy, eyes locked on mine the whole time.
“Backseat. Now.”
My whole body jolted.
I scrambled clumsily into the back as he shoved the front seats forward, watching me with hooded eyes and a grin like he’d won a prize. By the time I sat back against the door, he was already between my knees, tugging my dress up, dragging my panties down and tossing them somewhere in the dark cab.
“You don’t know how long I’ve wanted this,” he muttered, pressing open-mouth kisses to the inside of my thigh. “How fuckin’ long I’ve been dreaming about this exact moment.”
I bit my lip as he licked a stripe up my center, slow and possessive. “Rafe—”
“Say it,” he growled. “Say you’ve thought about it too.”
“I have,” I gasped. “God, I have—”
“Say it.”
“I think about you all the time,” I confessed, panting. “When I’m alone. When I’m—fuck—when I touch myself, it’s only ever you.”
That made him snap.
He dove in, tongue working me over like he was starved, moaning against me like the taste of me was his new religion. I cried out when he sucked on my clit, when his fingers slid back inside me and curled just right.
“I’m gonna come—”
He didn’t stop. Didn’t let up until I was shaking, legs clenching around his head, hands fisting in his hair as I came hard against his mouth.
When he pulled back, his face was flushed and wet and smug. “So fuckin’ pretty when you come for me.”
He undid his belt with one hand, the other stroking himself slow as he watched me come down from it. He was thick. Hard. Leaking at the tip.
“C’mere,” I whispered, already reaching for him.
“You sure?”
“Rafe,” I breathed. “Please.”
Instead he pulled me onto his lap, my knees bracketing his hips as I lowered onto him inch by inch. The stretch made me gasp, made him groan.
“Fuck—so tight—so fuckin’ wet for me—”
When I sank all the way down, our foreheads touched, breath mingling.
He didn’t move right away. Just held me there, his hands on my waist, his chest rising and falling like he couldn’t believe this was real.
“You feel like heaven,” he whispered.
I kissed him soft, slow, until he started to move — thrusting up while I rode him hard enough to make the whole truck rock. The windows fogged. The air turned thick with moans and skin and gasped confessions.
“Fuck—fuck, you were made for me,” Rafe grunted, fucking up into me harder. “No one else gets to see you like this. No one else touches you like this, you understand?”
“Yes—Rafe—please—”
He pulled my dress down to free my tits, sucking one into his mouth, then the other, moaning around them like he was worshipping me.
“Gonna fill you up,” he gasped. “Gonna come so deep inside this pussy you’ll feel me for days.”
“Do it,” I whispered, clawing at his shoulders. “Come in me, Rafe, please—”
He growled and fucked me faster, rougher, until my vision blurred and I was coming again, crying out his name as he spilled inside me with a curse and a moan that sounded like ‘mine’.
We stayed like that, panting, trembling, stuck together in the heat and sweat and quiet.
Then he kissed my shoulder. My collarbone. My mouth.
“You ruined me,” he whispered. “There’s no going back now.”
“I don’t want to.”
He smiled against my lips. “Good. ‘Cause you’re mine now.”
And I knew — with the way his arms locked around me and his come still dripping down my thighs — that I’d never belong to anyone else again.

a/n: this fic is brought to you by sexual tension, a hot truck, and the complete inability to act like normal best friends. rafe went feral and honestly? good for him. if your bsf isn’t fingering you in the passenger seat while saying insane shit like “you’re mine now,” what’s the point. thank you to my brain for cooking this up at 2am and thank YOU for reading my backseat filth.

Lando Norris x gf!reader (though gender isn’t specified and reader is set as a model idk)
summary: Lando Norris wants his girlfriend to move in but doesn’t have the nerve to ask directly, so he starts dropping subtle (and not-so-subtle) hints. She starts catching on.
warnings: none that i can think of. it’s just pure tooth-rotting fluff.
A/N: FIRST WRITTEN FIIICC RAAHHH!!! i’ve had this in my drafts (off tumblr) for weeks. i don’t put my writing many places so this is special 😇 i hope y’all don’t hate it because i kind of love it errmmmm ANYWAYS enjoy! happy reading 🫶 p.s. can one of y’all give me prompts, i’m so lost rn. my asks are always open ♡︎ LOVE U BABIES MWAH 💋

Lando was acting suspicious again.
Not in a cheating way. No—he was still very much the golden retriever boyfriend who texted goodnight with a heart and a photo of his feet hanging off the hotel bed. But suspicious in the “I’m clearly hiding something but I think I’m being slick about it” kind of way.
You first noticed it when you came back from Milan. You’d just wrapped a runway show and all you wanted was to crawl into Lando’s ridiculously oversized bed and not speak to another human for at least twelve hours.
Instead, you walked into his closet to steal one his hoodies, as you usually did, and found your clothes—folded. Color-coded. Already in there.
“You reorganize now?” you asked, raising a brow as he leaned against the doorframe, looking entirely too pleased with himself.
“Don’t look at me like that,” he grinned. “It’s practical.”
“Is it?”
“You’re here, like, half the time,” he shrugged. “Makes sense.”
“Except I have a place five minutes from here.”
“Which you barely use.”
He wasn’t wrong. Still. Weird.
—————————————————————————
The next time, it was the bathroom.
A whole drawer. Toothbrush, hairbrush, your favorite moisturizer, that one serum you can never find in the UK—he’d somehow gotten it shipped from Paris. Though, he was Lando Norris, you should’ve expected it.
You squinted at him when you found it.
He shrugged again. “I know your skin freaks out if you switch products. Thought I’d help.”
“I could’ve brought it myself.”
“Yeah, but this way, you don’t have to.” His grin widened. “Aren’t I the best boyfriend ever?”
“You’re something,” you muttered, though your cheeks flushed all the same.
—————————————————————————
But then there were his socks in your designated drawer. Your shampoo replaced by full-sized bottles of his favorites. His phone charger always “accidentally” ending up in your purse. A second key to his flat mysteriously showing up in your handbag, like it walked there itself.
You weren’t dumb. He was doing something. Slowly. Subtly.
But he wouldn’t say it.
Not once did the words “move in” pass his lips. You knew because you’d started counting how many days he danced around it.
Seventeen.
Seventeen days of hints and nudges and one very suspicious IKEA receipt.
So naturally, you decided to make him squirm.
—————————————————————————
“Baby,” you called one afternoon, holding up a pair of his boxers from your laundry basket. “Why is your underwear here?”
Lando peeked up from his phone, lying on the sofa with his feet draped over the armrest. “We share laundry now. Efficient, no?”
“You’re not even here half the week.”
He smirked. “Yet my socks keep ending up in your drawer. Funny, that.”
“Funny…” You narrowed your eyes. “You planning on invading more drawers, Mr. Norris?”
“Just testing the waters,” he said smoothly, like it wasn’t a completely weird thing to say.
You sat beside him, kicking his legs off so you could steal his spot. “You know, normal people ask their girlfriends to move in with them.”
“Is that so?”
“Mhm. It’s this crazy concept called communication. You should try it.”
Lando turned his head, giving you that boyish smile—the one that got him out of trouble and into most people’s hearts. “And if I were to ask you… what would you say?”
You tilted your head, pretending to think. “Depends.”
“On what?”
“On whether I get full control of the bathroom cabinet or not.”
“You already have it!”
“Then maybe I’d say yes.”
He grinned, looking relieved. “So, hypothetically… if I didn’t want to ask because it’s terrifying and what if you say no and break my poor fragile heart—”
“You’re so dramatic.”
“—hypothetically, would it be okay if I just kept sneakily merging our lives until one day you wake up and realize we already live together?”
You bit your lip, trying not to laugh. “That’s literally what you’re doing.”
“Subtlety is a skill.”
“No, it’s avoidance.”
He poked your knee. “It’s a love language.”
“Yours is physical touch and being annoying.”
“And yours is pretending you don’t like when I’m annoying.”
You smiled then, small and soft. The look in your eyes not less amused, but now accompanied by complete fondness and love. “You’re right.”
“I usually am,” he said, full of himself.
You nudged his shoulder. “Fine. Let’s do it.”
He blinked. “Do what?”
“Move in.”
His mouth dropped open for a second. “Wait—you’re serious?”
You shrugged. “You said it, didn’t you? I already basically live here. Might as well make it official.”
Lando stared, like he didn’t believe you. “You want to move in with me? Like… permanently?”
“I’ve tolerated your snoring for over a year. I think I can handle the rest.”
He laughed, pulling you into his arms, half crushing you in a hug, peppering every inch of your face with kisses. “You have no idea how happy you just made me.”
“I think I do,” you said against his chest. “You’ve been plotting this since December.”
“Okay, maybe I’ve had a Pinterest board since November—don’t judge.”
You groaned. “Oh my god. You’re ridiculous.”
“I just wanted it to feel like home. Like ours. Not just mine.”
You pulled back to look at him, my expression softened. It always seemed soften with him. “It already does, Lando.”
His eyes softened, voice gentler. “Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
“Good,” he said, pressing a kiss to your forehead. “Because I already ordered us a matching towel set.”
You laughed into his hoodie, shaking your head.
Of course he did.

Bug Like Angel
Till you tell me to leave
As you made your way to the living room, you looked at the long, gothic walls.
You saw all the family portraits.
The same ones you'd been forced to take.
In all the pictures you were in, you had a completely different style than the others
Damian was always telling you to dress a sort of way, just so you could be left out.
Ouch.
It got to a point that Bruce had assumed you were doing this on purpose, just to get attention.
So, he stopped bringing you to get the portraits done.
Thinking about that made you pissed, so you decided to put your mind to something else.
You couldn't wait to get the movie night over with, you could probably sneak away near the end and go a someone else's universe.
You calmed yourself down so the others didn't get suspicious and made your way to the living room.
You saw everyone sitting down, except for Dick, who was probably in the kitchen, getting snacks.
Everyone was talking and not noticing you, you were glad.
As soon as you turned around and were about to make your way back to your room, you heard it.
"Birdie!"
Dick.
You turned around on your heel, your spidey senses helping you dodge Dicks bear hug.
You saw how for a split second he had a slight face of shock, his blue eyes widening.
He put his hands on his hips. "And where do you think you're going?"
You tried your hardest to put on a poker face. You didn't want him to know you were slightly intimidated by him.
Sure, you weren't scared, or terrified, as you once were.
You were stronger now, everyone knew that, but now you didn't have the comfort of your friends to keep you grounded and safe.
"I, uhm, went to get a bottle of water. I'm thirsty." you lied through your teeth, you just wanted to get away from them.
Dick raised an eyebrow "From where? I just got back from the kitchen."
"From my mini fridge." you weren't exactly lying, you did have a mini fridge from years ago when you decided you didn't want to burden everyone by getting necessities like food and water.
His eyes lit up as if he just had a lightbulb moment. "Don't you think all those snacks and drinks are expired by now? We could go to get some more together!"
"No thanks." you shut it down before he got any ideas "I like going shopping by myself."
Before Dick could protest, you heard Tim's voice.
"Can you guys shut up and sit down?" he was clearly annoyed.
Before you knew it, Dick dragged towards the couch, patting the seat next to him.
You pretended to not notice him patting the seat and made your way towards the seat at the end of the couch.
You hesitated to sit down there, you weren't used to being invited to family hangouts.
You could feel everyone's judgemental stares towards you, you knew basically everyone but Dick and Bruce still didn't want you around.
You sat down by yourself while everyone was huddled up together.
You glanced at Dick and saw how saddened he looked that you didn't sit with him.
You could almost feel bad for him.
"Time to choose the movie." Alfred placed the remote on the glass table, and before you knew it everyone but Bruce, Alfred, and you were fighting with the controller, pushing, pulling, and punching.
You could almost laugh at how silly this was.
You almost felt like part of the family
Bruce watched as you had a sad smile on your face, and got an idea.
"Let Y/N get a chance to choose this time."
Suddenly everyone that was fighting froze in place. You suppressed a chuckle at how stupid it was.
Jason begrudgingly passed you the controller, somewhat aggressively.
You started scrolling through the movies trying to find one to watch.
You could hear the others whispering to each other, obviously a little mad they didn't get to choose.
You got nervous and took a minute or two picking one.
Everyone was getting impatient.
You finally found the movie you had been wanting to watch for a while.
One that you never got to finish.
Scary movie.
Literally, that's the name.
You clicked on it, and all the memories flooded back.

You and the other spider kids decided to sneak out to the movies.
You were walking towards the entrance of the theater, holding Peni's hand.
Gwen was holding hands with an obviously smitten Miles.
Pav was secretly taking a picture of them.
It was so cute how he had a crush on his own girlfriend!
Peni was holding your hand, and holding Margos in her other hand.
You had Bruce's credit card in your purse, which also had a bunch of snacks you were gonna sneak in.
Hobie was standing next to you.
You and he had yet again raided a 7/11, this time you hid the snacks in his hair.
Every time he took a step or slightly moved, you could hear the crinkles and crackles of the snack bags in his hair.
You tried not to laugh when you both made your way past the ticket booth and security.
While the others were discussing what they thought the movie was gonna be about, they felt a strange silence.
One that was only there for around 15 seconds.
One that was usually filled with laughter and joy.
Peni looked confused for a moment before asking, "Where did Y/N go?"
Before you knew it, everyone started scattering around looking for you.
Hobie and Pavitr both looked inside some of the theaters, maybe you snuck into a theater?
You weren't there, so they kept looking.
Margo and Peni were looking in the security cams, only for them to be broken because a certain someone (Hobie) 'accidentally' webbed them in a penis shape.
Gwen and Miles looked in the parking lot, maybe you went to get something from the car?
They all decided to meet up together to find you.
As soon as they got to the lobby, they found you buying all the overly expensive snacks and giving them away to other families.
Peni ran to you and tackled you in a hug "Y/N!" her tackle somehow managed to throw you onto the ground
You hugged her back, slightly confused "Hey guys!"
Margo offered you your hand "We were so worried about you!"
"Why? I was gone for like, two minutes!" you chuckled, taking her hand
Gwen dusted off a piece of chocolate from your cheek, presumably from a chocolate bar you had around half an hour ago "I swear, we need to put a harness on you!"
"Oh c'mon, don't you guys think it was a little overkill to go around panicking looking for me?" you playfully punched the side of gwens shoulder, smirking
"One time we thought you went missing for a week only for you to be on an earth no one is allowed in and somehow made a horse army?" Miles crossed his arms in a way that sort of reminded you of his mom.
Pavitr nodded "One time you didn't reply to any of us for a month because your phone was dead and you lost the charger, and you also lost your watch somehow, so you were literally off the grid"
"One time we were at the mall and I turned around for a minute and somehow we found you across the mall at a petstore." Gwen added
"This is my life and y'all are just living in it." you dramatically put your hands on your hips, which made Peni giggle.
"Just to let you guys know, the movie starts in like, 3 minutes and we haven't made it to our seats." Margo pulled up the tickets from her pocket
You all looked at each other and booked it to your seats.
You all made it just in time, the trailers had just ended.
The movie was good, but what made it great was all your friends around you.
Hobie was asleep, his legs leaning on the chair in front of him.
Peni had her head on your shoulder, watching the movie.
Miles and Gwen were playfully throwing popcorn at each other and Margo was the only one 100% focused on the movie.
After that, it was all a blur.
All you can remember is an anomaly coming in and wrecking everything.
You and the others had to fight off the anomaly together, and secretly bring it to the society without the spider parents knowing.
Unfortunately, that meant you never got to finish the movie.

You smiled at the memory, which surprised the others because a jumpscare had just happened.
"L/N, why are you smiling?" Damian asked, his green eyes squinting at you.
"Nothing, I just remembered something funny. Also, I don't use L/N anymore, I go by O'hara now."
Bruce grabbed the controller from your hands and paused the movie.
"What?" you saw his eye slightly twitch
"Yeah, don't worry about it." you tried to unpause the movie, only for the controller to be barely out of reach
"Did he make you change your name?" Dick got up and questioned, standing next to Bruce
"no, he didn't force me, I'm attached to him like a parasite. He's never getting rid of me." you joked, nervously. You just wanted to go back to your room.
"How exactly did you change your name?" Bruce put his hands on his hips
"surprise adoption." you fidgeted with your bracelet out of nervousness,
"what does that even mean?" Jason spoke up, turning his head to look away from his phone and instead at you.
"I got hurt one too many times, and while I was delirious I asked him for probably the millionth time if he could adopt me. he obviously couldn't, so we met halfway and he let me have his last name." you said casually.
Suddenly dick and Bruce were scolding you.
You pretended not to be affected, and just got up and stomped back to your room.
You locked the door and started crying.
You could lie and say that you didn't care about them, but the truth is that their yelling at you made you feel 10 years old again.
You felt like the same kid that was ignored and pushed around by them.
You just wanted to go home.
Suddenly, you heard a slight buzzing.
You looked for where it was coming from and saw it was coming from under your bed.
You looked under your bed and saw it was your watch.
You quickly typed Hobies universe number and left.
As soon as you got there, you made your way to his trailer.
You knocked on the door and made your way inside through the window.
As soon as you got in, you sat down on his chair that could spin.
You tried to go on your phone to check the time, only to remember you left it on your bed earlier.
Hobie walked in, holding a cup of water "Coulda’ just used the damn door, you know."
You spun around in the chair playfully "I don't believe in using doors!"
"Good. Neither do I. Doors are overrated." He leaned on the wall next to him.
You guys fell into silence. Not an awkward one, but a comfortable one.
You stood up, stretching "Wanna get outta here?"
"thought you'd never ask." Hobie grabbed his guitar, and you both walked out

Your family was at the dinner table.
Dicks leg was shaking, and Bruce was staring at the spot you were supposed to be seated at.
Everyone else's conversations were still going on, but there was a slight linger of your perfume there.
It was ironic that even after years most of your family didn't notice you were gone.
They were halfway through their meal when a portal popped up close to them.
Their eyes all widened as you fell in your suit, crashing into the fancy glass table, fighting a green goblin, Hobie not far behind.
While you were trying to push Green goblin back into the portal, you looked around to see your whole family looking at you, concerned.
"For fucks sake!" you punched Green goblin and you both fell into the portal again.
This just left your family with more questions than answers.
As they studied the now broken glass table, they also thought about the portal you fell through.
How many times has this happened?
How many times have you gotten hurt and they hadn't noticed?

A couple of minutes later, they watched as you and Hobie both fell through another portal, this time without the green goblin.
You flopped onto the floor and Hobie flopped onto the couch.
Dick started running to you about to ask if you were alright, only to hear you start laughing out of exhaustion.
Hobie got up from the couch and helped you get up.
You realized your family was in the room, and decided to introduce Hobie to them.
You grabbed his wrist "Uhm- this is Hobie, uh, is my friend.
"Your family watched as you nervously fidgeted with hobbies studded bracelet.
Everyone stared at you awkwardly, and you just started walking to your room.
"Y/N-" Bruce started
You ignored him and started walking faster.

After an hour or two, there was music blaring throughout the manor that vibrated through the floor.
Everyone could hear it despite having earplugs in.
It was time to put an end to this.
Jason started making his way up to your room, preparing himself for the worst.
He didn't even bother knocking, he just made his way in.
He expected to see you both sneaking out, smoking, or just anything bad as an excuse to kick Hobie out.
Only to see you and him gossiping and giggling while you were putting makeup on him.
Jason tried to make out what you guys were saying, but it was impossible due to the loud music.
Your spidey senses went off and you both looked at Jason.
Dick slightly flinched at you both looking at him in sync.
"Can you guys put down the volume? No one can sleep and it is 1 am." Jason put his hand on his neck
"Yeah, my bad." you put down the volume and continued gossiping with Hobie.
You felt his stare on you as he stood next to where you were sitting on the bed with Hobie.
You raised an eyebrow at him "Can we help you?"
He sat down next to you, only for you to scoot away from Jason and move closer to Hobie.
The room fell into an awkward silence until he finally left.
As soon as the door closed, you let out a sigh of relief.
"Jeez, can they hop off my dick for once?" you rolled your eyes in annoyance.
"tell me about it."

You started falling asleep towards 3 am.
You were trying to stay awake despite it being late at night (or early in the morning?)
Either way, you ended up falling asleep while leaning on Hobies lap.
Hobie smiled as he picked you up bridal style and tucked you into bed.
It wasn't the first and he hoped it wouldn't be the last.
He kissed your forehead and left through the window.
An hour or two later, Dick went to check up on you, only to see you peacefully sleeping in bed.
You had a black lipstick stain from Hobie on your forehead.
Dick frowned from that but started making his way out of the room.
That was until something caught his eye.
A guitar.
Not like the one you had, this one was red and had..unique stickers...
He grabbed it and made his way out of your room.
He could ask you about it the next morning.

I COULD HAVE YOU ANY TIME

OFFICE ROMANCE WITH … CEO!zayne x secretary fem!reader warning(s) -> nsfw, MDNI (18+ only), smut w little plot !! dom-ish zayne, established relationship (husband/wife), jealous-ish zayne, fingering, orgasm denial, discipline-ish vibes, impact play, sir kink, creampie, petnames: darling, my love/love, dove, brief dry humping, romantic/fluffy intimacy, not proofread wordcount. 2.2k (i love him, this is my way of making up for the horndog i was for caleb) taglist. @jellysix @tinycatharsis @wonuwuuuuu @wonryllis @tsukkisukkii
ZAYNE KNEW HIS WIFE was a gorgeous creature, the epitome of a woman’s essence—it was only natural for others to covet her, to feel the same infatuation he had with her. Except, he placed his band on her first.
3PM in the afternoon, Zayne had a meeting with investors at a resort’s hall. You, as his secretary, were obligated to come with him.
Negotiations went smoothly, transactions mutually agreed and satisfactory. But for some reason, Zayne left the room feeling more agitated than he should be.
He returned to the company’s headquarters in silence, barely talking much on the way, not even to you. He was awfully silent even when you two arrived. Unable to think much about your husband during business hours, you focused on work as you knew he would like you to.
you did exactly that for the rest of the hours, the day fleeting briefly until night fell in a blink of an eye. Finally, Zayne wanted to see you.
“You called, sir?” You greeted formally, aware that the rest of the staff hadn’t left yet. They knew you were married but still, you wanted to maintain some professionalism at work.
“I did, love. Close the door,” Zayne replied cooly, standing beside his desk chair, arms crossed as he stared out the ceiling-to-floor windows showing a view of Linkon City’s centre buzzing roads and buildings.
you did as you were asked, of course, shutting the door behind you with a click.
“What is it, Zayne?” You approached him with ease now, expression softening to a look of curiosity at his sudden summoning after an entire day of silence.
“Those investors we met earlier today, what did you think of them?” he asked suddenly, turning to you once you reached his side, soft hands sliding up his arm gently. His own reached to circle around your waist, gently pulling you flush against his body. His eyes seemed to darken behind his glasses seated firmly on the bridge of his nose, your head tilting in confusion.
“They were.. generous, I suppose. Respectful, and wise in their business handlings. Why do you ask?” You lifted another hand to hold his bicep, eyes searching for his in the dimly lit room of his office, his warm breath brushing against your skin.
“Respectful? Hah.. Were they?” Zayne muttered to himself more than to you, eyes drifting from yours for a second. His hand on your waist tightens for a milisecond before he relaxes again, brows furrowing deep in return.
“They were practically ogling you, my love. Didn’t you notice?”
You raised a brow at him.
“They were? Really?” You queried, genuinely baffled at the revelation that you missed something like that. His hold clenches harder.
“Feigning ignorance now? Not a smart move, darling,” Zayne tested, eye twitching with unbearable irritation that those men got away with eyeing his wife up and down like meat at a wagyu restaurant.
“Zayne, I seriously didn’t notice,” you reassured, hands clinging onto him in hopes he’d see the sincerity in your eyes. You heard him exhale a huff, hold loosening on your waist, fingers rubbing idly over your clothes.
“.. Very well,” the man grunted, eyes closing shut for a moment as if attempting the ever churning turmoil inside him that formed since that same meeting earlier today. “But I’m not satisfied with just that, sweetheart.” Zayne shook his head simultaneously, tugging on your hand to lead you toward his desk, turning you around and placing your palm flat against the surface of his desk.
He manoeuvred to stand behind you, using the advantage he had by the brief moment of shock he gave you, the way your breath hitched, just by cupping his other hand onto curve of your waist, the one of yours holding you down firmly to prevent chances of escape. Though, he fully doubted you’d dare such a thing while knowing the consequences.
“Don’t get me wrong.. I know you’re all mine, darling. This is simply.. extra measures,” Zayne’s husky words from behind you only fed the anticipation coiling in your lower belly, feeling his hand leave your waist to unzip your pencil skirt with practiced ease, fingers tugging them down until they fell to the floor.
He left you trembling from the sharp cold of the air-conditioner, the thin lace of your panties doing little to prevent the heat from his skin to seep into you—specially, the rigid curve of his cock that strained in his pants brushing against your ass whenever he leaned in, motions calculated to have you dripping with arousal for him.
“Punishment or reward—I bet they’re both the same for you at this point, hm? Pleasurable regardless.. and you’ll take it all like a good girl, yes?” Zayne’s low yet clear mutter were accompanied by a drifting hand, leaving your side to travel to your behind, fingers hooking beneath your panties to tuck them into the cleft of your ass, making sure to leave the firm globes of your rear exposed for him to see, and touch.
A moment of silence passes, save for your shaky breathing that hitched when a sharp smack rang in the room from the impact his firm palm made with one of your ass cheeks, earning a yelp from your dry mouth.
“What do you say when your punishment is given?”
“I.. I’m sorry, sir.” Your head dips down, eyes searching to fixate on the details of the documents and papers scattered on his desk.
“And if a reward is given?”
“Thank you, sir,” you breathed, brows knitting and lips parting for a silent moan when his thick fingers drift lower between your legs, settling to grab the plump flesh of your thigh, thick fingers dangerously close to your folds.
He kneaded your inner thigh, fingers tightening to earn yet another reaction from you—your hips that lifted further to meet his touch, back arching for the mere reminder of the hard on you effortlessly gave him.
“Your ‘thank you’ sounds much sweeter, dove. I think I’ll settle for giving you a reward for now,” zayne decided, looming further towards your bowing back, fingers on top of yours curling to delve between them. His head lowered to rest a kiss onto your tense shoulder, inhaling and exhaling your scent as much as he could, swearing it was the only aphrodisiac and vice capable of making him fall into addiction.
just then, his hand holding your inner thigh loosened, shifting its trajectory upwards to tug on the flimsy fabric of your undergarment, skilled fingers sinking past your folds to find your already wet pussy. The man exerted little to no effort to penetrate your tight cunt, digits burying knuckle-deep into your heat.
Zayne held your hand the entire time, lips and defined nose nuzzled against your shoulder with his hand holding yours on his desk still. The mewls and moans he drew from your throat did little to settle the hungry desire within him, only feeding his desperate need to bring you to the heights of pleasure once again.
“Forgive me for being overbearing at times, my dear.. I just… can’t help myself around you when such intense feelings burn so painfully in my heart,” Zayne began behind your ear, fingers pistoning in and out of your thigh channel, feeling your velvety walls clamp down around his digits when he spoke. It seemed like he caught your attention even in the middle of a heated session such as this one.
“Mmhh, don’t you dare apologise for that—nnh” you murmured between short breaths, swallowing the saliva that collected in your mouth to stifle the moans clawing to be released. As much as you loved being vocal, you couldn’t forget that you were still in office.
zayne with his glasses previously perched on his nose bridge now beginning to slip down the slope of his nose, hummed softly at your response, leaning further to hold you close, nails digging into the soft skin of your palm on the table.
“Too kind for your own good yet again, huh..” he whispered more to himself than to you. Zayne’s fingers continued their clever strokes of your fluttering cunt, the increase of pitch in your hidden moans telling him more than he needed to know about your climax
“I am just being grateful for my loving husband.. like any other would if they had someone as good as you,” you huffed, voice slightly strained from the continuous pleasure he offered from his callous fingers, along with the never fading heat radiating from his hard cock that’s been rubbing against your ass the entire time.
“No, never any other.. There’s only ever you, my love,” he corrected, sounding unshakeably confident as he always when you mentioned the mere notion of any other person taking your place in his life.
Your husband wasn’t subtle, no. He relished in the thought of showing you how much he wanted you, needed you. His actions always spoke louder than his words did, but he balanced it off with verbal affirmation every time you two were done.
“Hmph.. persistent..” you muttered, turning your head away from where he was behind you to hide your face now the you felt heat creeping onto your cheeks at his smooth words.
“I’m only persistent on making you see and believe the truth,” zayne insisted, fingers pulling out of your squelching pussy the moment he felt you inching too close to the edge. He couldn’t help but chuckle lowly at the whimper you made when he left your sopping pussy empty, clamping down on air.
“W-wait, what’re you doing?” you whined, head lifting to turn over your shoulder, searching for him, his touch, anything. Instead, you were greeted with a demanding glare, thick brow raised at you as the sound of his metal buckle finally reached your ears. You turned away once again, not wanting him to change his mind.
“Flustered or scared—I can’t tell with you,” Zayne finally spoke after breaking the brief eye-contact he made with you earlier, undoing his belt and tugging the zipper of his pants down, repeating the same motion to push his boxer down just enough to reveal his fully erect cock.
His hand circled around his length, giving it a few lazy strokes, smearing the buds of pre-cum with his thumb around his tip before he positioned himself behind you, aligning his cock along your entrance. Zayne’s cockhead notched past your slit, hips surging forward slowly to sink his painfully aroused cock into your narrow channel, not bothering to stop until he was balls deep.
While one hand was held with yours still, the free one held tightly onto your hip, holding your squirming self in place before he began to fuck you, his breathing escalating along with his thrusts. Zayne could tell you were barely a few strokes away from cumming due to earlier foreplay, but at least it was reasonable.
Him on the other hand, he was embarrassingly an arm’s length away from his orgasm without even a touch to his dick, surviving from measly humps against your firm ass cheek whilst bringing out those pretty moans from your lips for all the staff and receptionists outside to hear when they got a few steps too close to his office doors.
“You’re too good a—haah— at this, darling.. make me cum too damn easily,” he mumbled, words barely coherent from the mingle of groans and moans in his throat as he fucked his needy cock into you silly, juices dripping down to coat his balls when they slapped against your clit. His grasp on your waist was equally unforgiving—thumb pressing down on the shallow of your spine, preventing your greedy cunt from fucking back into him.
your lips parted in an ‘o’ shape, unable to form a syllable of any other word that wasn’t his name— Zayne. And every time you did it, cried out for him between sobs or whorish moans, you could’ve swore he pulsed inside you, just waiting for the perfect time to spill its pent up load. And you craved it so terribly—the feeling of his hot, thick cum painting every crevice of your insides, feeling it swirl inside you whenever his thrusts would continue to ride out his orgasm.
Just as you wished in your blank, lust-dazed state, Zayne’s climax hit him like a freight-train, offering you the same effect when his grip became bruisingly firm, the first spurt of viscous, white semen hit your clenching inner-walls.
“Cumming— Zayne, ‘s too much, your cum’s gonna make me cum, fuck!” you wailed in erotic panic, nails scraping on the surface of his desk and his fingers nestled between yours, threatening to pierce the skin with the strength.
Right then, your orgasm hit you, overwhelming your already quivering body as squelch after squelch were made within his office when your juices flowed freely, creaming in a perfect mess around his cock.
Zayne’s chest heaved with exhaustion, strands of his groomed hair falling over his eyes as he collapsed onto you half-heartedly, still making an effort to not lay the entirety of his weight onto you shaking body.
“That’s my girl.. my wife,” he cooed softly by your ear once he collected himself a bit, breath still bated. Zayne kissed your shoulder once before hiding his face deep into your crook of your neck, lips peppering tender kisses onto your sweat sheened skin all the while his fingers laced with yours fidgeted with the cold metal of the wedding ring he placed onto you when he proposed.

When they call you clingy, so you distance yourself | Hyung Line
Warnings: Cursing
Pt2, Pt3 Maknaeline
(X)
BANGCHAN |
You walked into Chan’s studio, quietly shutting the door behind you, as to not startle him.
“Hey Chris, can we talk for a second?”
You watched as your boyfriend of a year and a half continued to type away, not acknowledging your question.
“Chris? Did you hear me?”
“Yes I heard you. I just didn't answer."
"Well, it would be nice for a little acknowledgment, I asked if we could talk." You state politely. You understood that Chan was stressed, but you believed it was basic courtesy to at least acknowledge someone - let alone your significant other - when they asked you a question.
"Well, I'm kind of busy at the moment."
"I understand it will only take two minutes ba-"
“Dammit Y/N! I'm busy right now can't you see?" He snaps. Turning towards you and showing you the screen of his laptop.
You open your mouth to speak and tell him just why you needed to talk to him at this very second but he interrupted you.
"When we first started dating, I get that you told me you were clingy. I also get that I told you I liked clingy. But my god, Y/N you're not just clingy you're fucking obsessive. And always at the wrong times! You want space when I actually have time. Yet you decide to stroll in here trying to start a damn conversation when you can clearly see I'm trying to play damage control from a fucking dumbass trainee thinking it was funny to mess with my tracks. I'm already stressed as fuck about that, yet I have you breathing down my neck like some obsessive stalker. Like for five minutes just leave me alone!"
You stiffened at Chan’s tone. It was very rare that Chan would ever raise his voice. He managed his frustrations very well and was aware of how sensitive you were so he was always careful about confrontation.
He turned around and had his back hunched over his laptop as he typed and clicked away furiously, unaware of the tears that were quickly springing to your eyes. You were frozen in place, your heart beating uncontrollably.
It took a minute before you were even able to take a breath.
You stood there long enough for Felix to come bursting through the door to come update Chan about something unimportant to the task at hand. The same task that he had snapped at you for interrupting.
And you think that what hurt most. The way the frown on his face was lessened when talking to the younger male and his cute chuckle even popped out once or twice.
You finally were able to pull yourself out of the studio, leaving behind the coat you had absentmindedly placed down out of habit when you had come in and opted to take your purse.
The air was brisk and had that dry smell it always gained before it snowed.
Your apartment was close to the studio, a 25-minute walk at most so you always opted to take a stroll when visiting Chan, but you were on a tight schedule so within a minute you were in a taxi heading home.
And just as quickly you were back in a taxi heading to the airport.
You knew it was petty of you to mute Chris's notifications. But the fact that he snapped at you was just the tip of the iceberg. You knew that once he calmed down, he would immediately be filled with guilt. And you would rather not have your phone being blown up by multiple people at once.
Are you headed to the airport?
You responded to your brother's message with a thumbs up and turned on your DND before the screen darkened with a click.
You glanced at your watch and sighed.
You'd be on a plane heading home in less than an hour and weren't even able to kiss Chris goodbye.

MINHO |
"You're clingy as hell." Minho mumbled under his breath, thinking you wouldn't hear. But oh did you hear.
"Lee Minho what did you just say?"
He let out a sharp breath and looked up from his phone. "I called you clingy." He stated boldly, his voice even yet loud enough to be heard by Hyunjin and Han who quickly scurried away to the other half of the suite.
"And what about me is so clingy?"
Minho chuckled sarcastically. "Oh I don't Y/N, do you want me to recap the entire day for you?"
You had joined the kids on their trip to Paris. While they had been here numerous times, this was your first time traveling here and due to the anxiety of being in a new place, you attached yourself to Minho's hip since it was your first day here.
You didn't intend to be overbearing, nor did you intend to be up his ass for the entire week and a half long trip, but you wanted to get used to the surroundings and you felt most comfortable doing that with your boyfriend. Yesterday being your first day you spent the entirety of it with Minho. You had noticed quickly how his excitement had turned into unease and straight up irritation after a while. It was a weird phase of emotions considering how happy he had been but you had amounted it to you accidentally taking a wrong turn and missing a fireworks show Minho had been talking about all day. You had come into his room early this morning to apologize, but instead were meant by an overly irritable boyfriend.
"It's because I've never been here before! Did you expect me to not to ask you to show me around?"
"Y/N there is a difference between a tour guide and a fucking babysitter. You pulled me along to everywhere you wanted to go. I had plans yesterday! Certain things that I was hoping to do. I made an entire schedule and everything, but just because you wouldn't agree to be toured around the city by Chan you ruined all of that. Then you spent the entire day just pulling me along. If you wanted someone to give you an overly extensive run down of everything and keep you company, why don't you ask someone closer to your personality like Jisung or Jeongin? I'm sure they'd love talking of the ears of all the local with you. Shit, you'd probably become some street show you three."
You sucked in your cheeks and took a breath.
"That was uncalled for, you have no need to bring anyone else into this discussion."
Minho chuckled sarcastically.
"Discussion? What is there to discuss? The amount of time I want you to leave me alone? Hell, why not the entire fucking trip?" He spat out.
"You're an ass Minho."
"Yeah well at least I'm not a pain in someone else's."
You felt your bottom lip start to tremble and your chin shake.
Don't cry. You'll just be a crybaby.
"And here come the water works." He groans as if he read your mind, getting up from his bed and heading towards the room where the rest of the guys were probably trying to keep occupied as to not hear your arguing.
"So what? You're just gonna walk away?" You call out.
"YOU'RE PROVING MY FUCKING POINT!" He shouted, finally at his breaking point. "It was a mistake asking you to come on this trip." He said turning around one final time and opening the door to the other side of the suite. "I never should have asked."
"Well you know what, maybe this trip isn't the only thing you should have never asked about. And I'm starting to realize that maybe it's not the only thing I never should have said yes to." You spit out turning on your heel and slamming the door.
You furiously wiped at the tears that were sticking to your face and threw your hood up over your head as you headed to your room to contemplate what would become of you two now.

CHANGBIN |
It was irritating to you the way Changbin was interacting with the female barista. And the irritation must have shown on your face because when he handed you your iced latte, he raised an eyebrow.
"Is everything okay jagiya?"
You sighed as you guys stepped out the shop and started making your way back towards the studio. Changbin had been really busy the last couple of weeks with preparing for a special release and collabing with a few other groups, so you hadn't been able to be around your boyfriend as often as you'd like. So you had agreed on meeting during his lunch every other day, even if the times varied.
"You just seemed really flirty with that barista." You mumbled. "It was obvious she was into you too. I mean who wouldn't you're the Seo Changbin." You giggled elbowing him playfully. You pulled out your phone to make sure there was enough time for you to walk Changbin back or if you would have to take an Uber. You nodded at the time and swiped away a few notifications from Minho.
You expected Changbin to laugh or reassure you like he usually did when you brought up his flirty habits. Instead he snorted into his cup as he took a sip of the dark liquid.
"Jealous much?"
You laughed a little. "Why would I be jealous? She isn't the one who has been dating you for three years." You said hip bumping him, but he stepped away from you rather brashly.
"Well it seems like you are because you have to bring up me and my so called flirting ever single time I talk to anyone of the female species."
"Bin it was just a joke-"
"Well I'm not joking when I say you're acting clingy as fuck." His tone was way off and he seemed to realize the shit he was setting himself up to be put in because he stopped mid stride and turned around to you with an agitated sigh.
"Do you...I don't know want to run that by me again?" You ask, firming your stance.
"God, Y/N, don't make this a big thing. Its just been a day-"
"No, no. You don't get to use that excuse Changbin. We're supposed to talk through these things. You don't just get to say something like that and then act like you didn't."
You guys stood at an impasse for a moment until he spoke up rolling his eyes.
"Fine. I think you're being clingy." He said simple. "Jealousy falls under clinginess and I think you're being jealous so therefore you are being clingy."
"Changbin it was a fucking joke! You've never reacted this way before so I don't know why you're acting this way now!"
Changbin just rolled his eyes and continued in the direction of the studio.
"Seo Changbin, where are you going?"
"To work Y/N. You know, maybe if you actually picked up a more stable job then you wouldn't have as much time to be up my ass and exaggerating about things that aren't things you should be butt hurt about."
You stiffened at Changbin's low blow and took a breath.
"We need to fix this before it gets out of hand." You grit out.
"Well maybe I don't want to fix this." He looked at his watch. "I'm late now so why don't you just drink your latte and go home to cool off."
The condescending voice Changbin was using sent you over the edge. You were angry to the point of tears.
You chucked your nearly full iced latte at him. It hit his chest with a thud, and the coffee made a rather pretty pattern on his pristine white shirt.
"Maybe that'll help you cool yourself off. Fuck you Changbin." You pushed past him and waved down the closest taxi.
Your phone was buzzing in your pocket and you pulled it out.
"Hey, are you and Changbin on your way back? I need to go over some choreography and we're filming tiktoks right when he gets back."
You did the best you could to keep your voice level when responding to Minho.
"He's on his way back now. But you need to get him a new shirt because being the dumbass he is he likes to make a mess of perfectly good things."
(xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx)
HYUNJIN|
You were never very happy having to attend events with Hyunjin. It wasn't that you didn't like spending time with him, or in turn spending time with the guys events.
It was just you felt insecure being the plus one of someone like Hyunjin.
It was no secret to anyone how those who knew and perceived Hwang Hyunjin's existence thought of him.
He had a beauty that rivaled any masterpiece that had ever been painted. The elegance of a tiger lily with the face of an angel.
You knew of many people who would jump at the opportunity to be with Hyunjin. For the past 11 months you had been with him you had your fair share of run ins with crazy fans or pop stars of the like.
Once your relationship had gone public a month ago you found yourself being compared to the female idols in the industry even more than you has expected.
It seemed to be the general consensus that not many people viewed you as "beautiful enough" to be with someone like Hyunjin.
You didn't take it to heart because you decided to have the outlook of nobody being beautiful enough for Hyunjin - let alone the people writing those hateful comments considering they were most likely delusional pre-teens who made the most out of pocket edits and were in desperate need of some grass groping.
But after a month it was starting to get to you slightly. Especially as you had come across one of those edits, since you had been tagged in it after someone found your personal account.
The amount of hate messages were starting to get to change your perception on things. Because the more you were hearing it the more you were seeing and believeing it.
"Jinnie do you think that my shoulders look weird in this dress?" You walked into your living room where Hyunjin was sitting. He looked up and a bright smile showed on his face.
"I think you look beautiful jagiya!" He said standing up. He looked other worldly in his tuxedo.
"And my hair?"
"Perfect." He said placing a kiss on your forehead. "We have to leave now if we want to make it on time. Or else I would look at you all night."
By the time you had been at the event for thirty minutes you already wanted to go home. You felt like the ugliest person there, and you couldn't help but feel the eyes of many people on you.
Ever couple of minutes you found yourself looking for Hyunjin's reassurance.
"Does my stomach look bloated?"
"Is my makeup fine?"
"Can you see the pimple on my chin?"
"Are my nails okay?"
"Do I look ugly?"
"Should I make my hair look like hers next time?
Hyunjin was reassuring you, but after the third or fourth questioning of the night his answers became generic.
When he was talking to an idol and his significant other you couldn't help but start comparing yourself to her. She was so pretty.
"Hyunjin should I run home and change?" You asked quietly in English. You were doing your best to learn Korean so it would be easier to communicate with Hyunjin's parents when the time came that your families were to get closer. You wanted it to be a surprise when the time came, because you knew how much Hyunjin wanted you to get along with his family, when when the time came to meet them - he wanted to get along with your family.
"You're girlfriend is pretty clingy isn't she?" The other idol asked in his native language, assuming you didn't speak korean because of your fluency in english.
"Yeah she is extremely clingy." Hyunjin replied. "Might be the clingiest girl I've ever met."
You looked at the other idols girlfriend and she made a face, and then laughed.
"You can tell she is a foreigner by the way she acts. No one is ever as clingy as foreign partners." She joked and all three of them were laughing.
Well there is the hundredth insecurity to list.
You looked at them and tried to control your facial expressions.
"We were just telling him that you are so adorable." The girl told you.
You chuckled uncomfortably and looked over at Hyunjin. He smiled and blinked cutely at you.
You smiled back as Hyunjin turned towards the couple again to continue his conversation.
And all you could do was smile back as you pretended to not understand the words Hyunjin didn’t even realize hurt you.

TW: sexual content ahead, choo choo
Part 1
“Wake up, love.” A groan left your lips and you flipped over, burying your face further into the fluffy pillow beneath your head. “Five more minutes.” The dark chuckle behind you betrayed that it was John who was trying to wake you up. He rounded the four-poster, and you cracked an eye open, glancing at him “Do I really have to carry you downstairs?” Your lips twitched, and John immediately knew your answer. With a slight huff, he picked you up and carried you downstairs. He plopped down on the couch with you in his lap, as you cuddled up against him, your eyes closed again.
“Look at her, I think we tired her out too much last night.” Johnny chuckled, gently scratching your scalp and running his fingers through your hair. A pleased hum left your throat as you leaned into his touch. “Yeah, you hurting, pretty?” Kyle sounded concerned and you quickly felt his body heat behind you. “’ M fine.” The Sergeant chuckled, kissing your head, before standing up and walking away.
“Okay, time for breakfast, huh?” Your eyes shot open immediately and you glared at Simon, who stood next to the gigantic Christmas tree you had forced the boys to buy and put up. “No! You promised that we would open the gifts first thing if…if…” Simon grinned, his eyebrows raised as you began to grow bashful. “If what, love?” Your lower lip jutted out as you pouted. “If I were a good girl and took a few more…orgasms.” John chuckled behind you. “Look who’s awake now. Don’t tease her, Si. Let’s open the presents.”
And with that, the present marathon began. The guys got presents for each other and opened them one by one, thanking each other. They were usual guy gifts - alcohol, cigars, socks, etc. Things the others could use, but nothing overwhelming. By the time they were done, you had finally woken up enough to point to the presents you had gotten each of them.
Johnny was the first to unwrap his. It was an expensive sketchbook and art set he had been eyeing for some time, but never decided to buy. “Aw, bonnie. Thank you, I appreciate it.” You grinned. “Open it.” With a slight frown, he did as you told him to, his eyes widening as he saw what was decorating the front page. It was a beautiful portrait of the two of you. You had gotten his favorite indie artist to draw it for you and he even signed it. “No way!” With a giant grin, he jumped to his feet. “How did ya- no, when did ya-?” He jumped over the table that was separating him from you, not waiting for an answer. “You are amazing.” Still grinning, he bent down and pressed his lips to yours, keeping it chaste for the moment.
After Johnny pulled back, Simon reached for his present and ripped the wrapping paper off. He eyed the box for a few seconds, suspicious of its content, but finally opened it once you insisted that it was fine. To his surprise, he pulled out an old-looking camera, his eyes immediately jumping to yours the moment he realized what he was holding. “Where did you find this?” You shrugged, still wrapped in John’s arms. “Did some research. Is it the right one?” Still looking dumbfounded, he nodded. “Y-Yeah. It’s uhm…it’s the right one. Thank you.” You smiled at him, thinking back to when he opened up to you about his hobby when he was a child, how his mother had bought him a second-hand camera just so he could find some joy in life. You spent months trying to find the same model and make, and when you did find it, you knew it was the perfect present. You were so lost in thought that you didn’t realize Simon was standing right in front of you until you felt his lips against your forehead. “Thank you, love.” A smile formed on your lips as you gazed up at him. “Of course, Si.”
Kyle was next and he made quick work of the wrapping paper, just like Simon. He grinned the moment he realized what it was and skipped over, pressing a quick kiss to your lips. “Thank you, sweets.” It was a quiet mumble against your lips before he kissed you again and pulled away. Johnny immediately grew curious, trying to see what you had gifted to Kyle, but the Seargent quickly pulled away, hiding the present. You giggled as you watched Johnny chase Kyle around until the left the living room, both of them yelling at each other. Simon glanced at you, a slight frown on his face. “Do we want to know?” Still giggling, you shook your head, thinking about the different colored yarn balls and crocheting needles. He had confided in you not too long ago that he wanted to try it, but was too shy around the others. You just hoped that he would see the encouragement and take it up.
“What about me?” John gently squeezed the fat on your hips, gathering your attention. “Oh.” You pointed at a small, beautifully wrapped box and Simon handed it to you. With his free hand, he took it, turning it over as if trying to guess what it was. “Just open it.” With a dark chuckle, he did, quickly shredding the paper and frowning as he saw that it was a watch box. But when he opened it, the frown disappeared and his eyes widened. “Where did you find this?”
A few months ago, during an op, his watch broke. Usually, that wouldn’t be all too bad, better the watch, that can be replaced, than his hand or wrist. But the watch was ancient, vintage as he called it and it meant a lot to him. He didn’t act like it, but it broke his heart whenever he looked at it, hidden away in the top drawer of his desk. And it broke your heart. So, together with Simon, you scoured all different kinds of jewelry stores and online until you found the exact same model, working and in good condition.
John closed the lid of the box and pulled you even closer against himself. "Thank you." His voice was barely above a whisper as he pressed his lips against yours. The kiss was gentle at first, his lips moving slowly against yours as his hand came up to cup your cheek. You melted into him, your fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt as the kiss deepened. But before it could go too far, Johnny and Kyle came barreling back into the room. “I want a hat.” The Scot was grinning at the other male. “I’m not making you a hat.” Kyle shook his head, but the grin on his face betrayed him. You and John pulled apart, him looking annoyed while you just chuckled at the familiar antics.
“Oh? You guys done?” Simon nodded as Johnny and Kyle sat down again, a smirk growing on their lips. “So, now it’s time for her presents?” And oh, there were presents. From lingerie and jewelry to plane tickets for your dream vacation. By the time you had unwrapped and opened all of them, Simon and Johnny had disappeared into the kitchen to make breakfast. “You guys are crazy. That’s way too much!” John shook his head, squeezing you tighter against him. “Nonsense. You deserve so much more.” Kyle interrupted the Captain. “And some of this may be compensation for having to put up with Johnny.” Immediately, Scottish curses sounded from the kitchen, making you chuckle.
“Thank you, guys. I love you. All of you.” John pressed a kiss to your cheeks, Kyle matching it on the other side, before both of them pulled away, making eye contact. “There is actually one more gift, wait here.” Price shifted you from his lap and sat you down on the couch, before he and Kyle disappeared, closely followed by Simon and Johnny who left the kitchen and followed the other two soldiers. You were curious but decided to be a good girl and wait patiently. While doing so, you glanced over all of your presents again, a font smile tugging on your lips. You really loved these idiots.
Someone clearing their throat pulled you out of your thoughts and you looked up, finding the four soldiers standing in front of you, naked, safe for a pretty bow wrapped around each of their cocks. “Ready for your final present, love?” They all grinned at you and you couldn’t help but grin back. Hell yes, you were ready!
A/N: If you're seeing this, it means I can finally upload again! Yay! Idk why but Tumblr wouldn't let me upload the last few days, no matter what I tried it didn't work. But whenever this goes up, I hope I can go back to my normal schedule! Love you guys!

Mystery Girl
Sirius Black x fem!Gryffindor!reader
5.7k words
cw: pining, bad flirting advice, fluff
You allow yourself to gaze in his direction for longer than usual. Your head is propped up on your hand, elbow resting on your desk, as you tap the tip of your quill to your lip in faux-thought. Professor Flitwick had announced the rest of class was to be used to work on the essay he assigned last class. Yours is about half done. You really should be thinking about what to write next, or looking up more information in your textbook. But, alas, you stare at Sirius with no real thoughts in your head. If anyone asked though, you would say it was just his general direction.
Sirius isn’t even pretending to work. He’s having a full fledged whispered conversation with James, occasionally leaning forward to include Peter and Remus, the latter of which is attempting to finish his essay. You’re a bit surprised that Remus hasn’t finished it already, but with friends like Sirius, James and Peter, getting work done can be a challenge.
Every once in a while, Sirius looks in your direction and flashes you his impish grin. It’s nothing out of the ordinary. You’re close friends; you’re one of the few that knows he’s an animagus. A few too many drinks one night got you that information. He recapped the whole process for you that night, which left you wondering how he managed to go through it all without mentioning it to you. The more you thought about it afterwards, the more you realized that his letters that summer were particularly odd.
You became friends with Sirius during second year when you shared a detention with McGonagall. She had you scraping gum off the bottom of desks while Sirius was sweeping ash off the floor and then mopping and polishing. It was a long and grueling evening for two 12-year-olds. Through complaining and cracking jokes, you managed to survive and a friendship was fostered. It certainly helped that you continued to get assigned detention together over the years.
Somewhere between here and there, you realized that you wanted more than friendship from Sirius, but with him being who he is, you had no way of knowing if your feelings were reciprocated. You buried them as deep as you could. You didn’t want any of your friends, especially the mutual ones with Sirius, to know that you had a crush on him. You’d rather live in the pain of watching him flirt with girl after girl that wasn’t you but have him as a dear friend than live in that same world except have him reject you and never speak to you again.
His wild grin brings you out of your thoughts. He raises his eyebrows as you shiver violently. You look down at your essay, not giving Sirius any attention. You figure he’ll assume you were zoned out, which you were to a point. You don’t let your graze fall back on him for the rest of class, allowing you to miss how he looked back at you several times.
Sirius catches up with you when Flitwick dismisses everyone. Not having worked on his essay, putting his stuff away had only taken him a moment while you carefully place your things into your bag.
“Must’ve had some train of thought going,” he muses, leaning on your desk slightly.
“What do you mean?” you ask, not looking up.
“Could’ve sworn you were staring right at me. I acknowledge you and nothing!”
You hum. “Then, yeah, I suppose. I was trying to make some progress.”
“And did you?” he asks as you leave the classroom and walk together to your next class.
“Not much,” you sigh. “Added a paragraph but it’s still too short. Can’t even bewitch my handwriting to be larger to make it close enough.”
“We can work on it later. I have…” His voice trails off as he looks at the parchment hastily shoved into his Charms’ book. “Half of an introduction.”
You laugh as you gently bump into Sirius. You are mildly surprised that he even had that much done, but once he sits down and actually works on it, Sirius will finish his much faster than you ever could. At least he was offering to work on it with you. That meant you could ask him to look over yours when you finally finished.
---
The common room empties out slowly as students head to bed. You’ve been sitting on the couch since dinner with your History of Magic textbook laying in your lap, open yet unread. Your eyes are unfocused, staring at the dancing flames in the hearth. Every once in a while you pick up sentences from your friends sitting around you. It’s nothing too exciting. The boys are discussing the intricate details for their next pranks on the Slytherins; the girls making plans for the next Hogsmeade weekend. And you were supposed to be catching up on the assigned reading.
It isn’t until Sirius falls dramatically into your lap that you tear your eyes away from the fire to see that everyone else has gone to bed. His dark hair splays across your book as he looks up at you with his stormy grey eyes.
“Did you finish the chapter?” he asks with a lazy smile. “Or were you seeking divine intervention from the fire?”
“Divine intervention,” you reply, lifting his head ever so gently so you could remove your book, close it and set it aside. “The creation of the Being Division in the 1800s by some bloke Stumpy? End me now.”
Sirius chuckles.
“I’m glad Binns didn’t assign an essay on it. Imagine!” he says, making you smile. “There’s that smile. It’s not like it’ll be on an exam or anything.”
“Sirius, you know it will.”
“And you can look at my paper. Or James’. Remus. Peter, wait… maybe not Peter. But Lily and Marlene would be okay.”
“And that’s cheating. It’s one thing on essays, but exams are another.”
“Fine, study. Put in more effort than you need to.”
You ruffle his hair in response, earning you a noise of complaint from Sirius. You are allowed to play with his hair when it involves running your fingers through it or braiding it. Ruffling it and making it messy? Treason.
“Can I… talk to you about something?” Sirius asks as he adjusts in your lap.
“I don’t know… Talking? Us? I don’t think we’ve ever done that before!” you tease sarcastically.
“No, really, love. I need your opinion on something.”
There is something more earnest in his voice that tells you it’s serious. You know he debated saying that it is but knew you would laugh and say that everything is Sirius with him. It was a dumb joke that you couldn’t get enough of.
You nod somberly.
“Yeah, Sirius. We can talk about anything.”
“So… there’s this girl.”
That one sentence is a punch to your gut. He wants to talk to you about a girl? While past girlfriends have come up in conversations before, it was always a fleeting topic, or they were key players in a story, like dates gone wrong. You thought it was understood that your friendship with Sirius avoided each other’s love lives - not that you ever had a boy to talk about with him.
“O-okay,” you manage to say.
“I really like her. I just… I can’t tell if she likes me and the boys are no help.”
“So you’ve come to me because I’m oh-so-experienced in love?”
“I came to you because you’re a girl. How do girls show that they’re interested when they aren’t obviously flirting?”
You poke his cheek as you say, “Used to the obvious flirting, aren’t you?”
He grins up at you. “Obviously.”
“Well, from what I know, they lean in when you talk, laughing at any and every stupid joke you make. When they touch you, they let their hand linger, especially if it’s on your hand or arm.” You demonstrate your point by touching his bicep and giving it a gentle squeeze. “A little more brazen, they’ll compliment you subtly. You should be able to see it in their smile. Maybe they’ll flutter their eyelashes at you if they are bold. Or desperate. They’ll also jump to your side if you’re alone.” You sigh. “Again, you know I’m too experienced with this flirting thing so…”
“Yeah, but you must’ve flirted with guys before. You’re no hermit.”
You exhale out of your nose. “I don’t flirt much.”
“Much! So you do! Your expertise shan’t be taken for granted!”
Your expertise. Sirius really has you on a pedestal. You sit with him for a while longer, running your fingers through his hair to make up for your earlier ruffling. He closes his eyes as he enjoys the feeling.
Over the next few days, you make a point to not do any of the things you listed off as flirting. You only lean forward when he talks at meals so you can have the excuse of needing to be able to hear him better. You rarely find yourself in a position to have your hand on his so that wasn’t an issue. You aren’t one to bat your eyelashes or stroke his ego. Your two vices are laughing and being at his side, but he’s your best friend. Could you really be expected to not spend time with him and enjoy yourself when you are with him? You think you’ve played it off fairly well.
Sirius thinks you’ve given him faulty advice. He is hyper aware of every interaction he has with this girl. He’s overanalyzing every move she moves around him, and every move he makes. What’s even more frustrating to him is that some of the things you listed off, he can’t imagine her doing. It’s just not who she is.
He decides to bring it up again to you in the Transfiguration Courtyard after classes. James and Marlene are tossing a quaffle back and forth while Lily, Mary, Remus and Peter work on various assignments. You and Sirius are sharing a pack of cigarettes off to the side at Mary’s request. She claims she can’t focus when there’s a cloud of smoke around her head. There’s enough space between you and the rest of the group which gives Sirius the privacy he requires for this topic.
“You know that girl I was telling you about?” he asks you.
“The one you’re so in love with?”
“Yeah, that’d be the one.”
“Then, yes, I know of her. You never told me who it is though.”
“That’s not important right now,” he says, running a hand through his hair before immediately shaking it out. “She’s not doing any of those non-obvious flirting things you said.”
“She’s not?” you echo with your eyebrows raised. What girl could resist the temptations of Sirius?
“She’s not. But now I’m wondering if I’m the problem?”
You laugh loudly. Sirius’ firm gaze and stoney expression tell you he’s not messing around like you assumed he would be.
“Tell me how you, you, could be the problem?”
“Like I told you before, I really like this girl. I do. She’s amazing, a real sweetheart, and I don’t want to mess it up before it’s gone anywhere. So I haven’t flirted with her the same way I’ve flirted with other girls.”
“Damn, Black. You must really like this girl.”
“I do. So much.” He takes a breath and leans in a hair. “I don’t know what I’m doing wrong though. I know she wouldn’t like my usual flirting. She doesn’t respond to the new method. How do I get this girl’s attention?”
You sigh and shake your head.
“It’d be easier to help you if I knew who it was,” you tell him.
“Yeah, I know that, but I… I can’t tell you.”
“Sirius-” you chastise.
“Love, I can’t tell you.”
“Have you asked the boys how to flirt with this mystery girl?”
“Sirius Black, master flirt, is not going to those virgins for help.”
You bite inside of your cheek to keep from laughing at the absurdity of it all: Sirius calling himself a master flirt, knowing damn well that James and Remus weren’t virgins, and that Sirius was willing to come to you, an actual virgin, for help.
“So what do I do?”
You can’t hold back your laughter any more. It breaks through. You expect Sirius to look upset at your laughing but instead he’s smiling at you.
“I’m not trying to be mean, Sirius, but you do know who you’re talking to, right? A girl who’s never been flirted with? And you’re turning down asking Potter, king of pining, for advice? Like I’m one hundred percent sure that Lily knows he likes her.”
You glance toward James and then Lily. You missed the flash of disappointment that crosses Sirius’ face when you say you’ve never been flirted with. He knows for a fact it isn’t true, but it wouldn’t help his cause now to tell you otherwise.
“I’m talking to my best friend who I think is more perceptive than she realizes,” he states. “Humor me: how would you like to be flirted with?”
How would you like to be flirted with? The question repeats in your mind as you think. Sirius can practically see the gears turning in your head. He waits patiently for your answer. It has the potential to change everything for him.
“I… I want genuine compliments. I want to be told that I’m pretty but also that I’m enough and to hear what they like about me, you know, beyond looks. I want them to choose to spend time with me. I want them to do all that chivalrous, gentleman-y things like carrying my books and holding doors,” you list off. As you continue your ramble, your face grows hot. “I sound like a spoiled child,” you laugh. “I want, I want, I want.”
Sirius smiles at you with an adoring look in his eyes.
“Maybe so, but I did ask you what you wanted.” He tucks a bit of hair behind your ear. “So no big, grand gestures for you? I’ll make sure to tell all your suitors.”
You roll your eyes as you’re fairly certain there are no potential suitors for him to tell.
“I don’t know how you’ve been flirting with this mystery girl if it hasn’t been your usual tactics, but the little things really do add up.”
“Would you believe me if I told you that I went from one extreme to the other?”
“Why, yes, yes I would,” you smirk.
“Oi! Looks like rain, we’re going in!” Lily yells in your direction.
Sirius stands up first and holds out his hand to help you up.
Throughout the rest of the week, it’s like a switch flipped in Sirius. He’s more attached to you than normal. He’s always there to hold open a door for you, to offer to carry your books or put your supplies away. He starts using pet names with you more. You find it all a bit peculiar. He was spending so much energy on you rather than trying to win over his mystery girl. You try not to think too hard on it.
When the weekend came, your whole friend group made their way to the quidditch pitch. It was nice when Gryffindor wasn’t playing so James and Marlene could jeer at the players, complain about calls and plays and explain moves to everyone. They bring a higher energy to the stands. But you couldn’t focus on their comments too much. Sirius is pressed into your side with how packed the Gryffindor section is. To make it more comfortable, he draped his arm loosely over your shoulder. His cologne overtakes the rest of the smells that accompany the stands. You’re not complaining about that, but it did make it hard to think about anything else. Again, you try not think too hard about Sirius’ mystery girl, or the fact that your body is much closer to Sirius’ than Lily’s, who was on your other side.
After Ravenclaw beats Hufflepuff, you claim a table for yourself in the common room. You have an essay for Transfiguration to finish. Lily and Marlene had fretted earlier about your insistence on getting it done today when you had all of tomorrow to work on it and there was a party tonight. They certainly didn’t like you pointing out that it was Ravenclaw’s party so your presence wouldn’t be missed and you had more homework to do tomorrow. Merlin forbid school didn’t come easy to you.
When they accepted that you were a lost cause for the night, they grabbed Mary and left. You are able to work in peace for a little over half an hour. Then the Marauders traipsed down the stairs. Their sheer presence sends energy pulsing through the room. You briefly look up as they pass your table. Sirius spins around after passing you and walks up to you, slamming his hands on the table.
“Why aren’t you at the party?” he demands. “Pretty girls belong at parties.”
You feel your cheeks warm. You drag the feather end of your quill over the pages of the open book and essay in front of you.
“These essays. They never seem to write themselves.”
“So you’re just not going to the party?”
“Padfoot! Come on,” James calls.
“Love?” Sirius asks, ignoring his friends.
You sigh and look up at him. He’s looking at you so ardently.
“Not until I finish this essay. So I’ll either be extremely late or I won’t go,” you answer him.
He pulls out the chair across from you.
“Head over without me! We’ll catch up later,” he yells over his shoulder as he sits down.
Then he grabs your essay, scanning it to see how far along you are.
“Sirius, go to the party,” you tell him, reaching for your essay but he holds it out of your reach. “Your mystery girl is probably there. You could be making your move. My essay will get done.”
“Mystery girl will be there whenever I get there. However, your essay is more important than any party, and I don’t want to go if you’re not there.” He flashes you his wide grin. “How can you expect me to have fun when I know you’re back here, suffering?”
You sigh and lean back in your chair. With you no longer reaching for your essay, Sirius is able to finish reading it over. He hands it back to you and grabs your book. He flips a few pages before placing it back in front of you and pointing to a second you hadn’t looked at yet.
“You’re closer to finishing that essay than you think, love. You really just need a summary of that section and a conclusion. Then it’s upstairs to change and party time!”
“Thanks, Sirius.”
You lean over the desk to read the section he pointed out. After a few minutes, you glance up at him. He’s been watching you read and make notes.
“You don’t have to wait for me. I’ll find you at the party when I’m done,” you say, although you have half a mind to crawl into bed when you’re done. Especially if Sirius’ mystery girl is at this party, you’re not sure if you have it in you to watch him flirt with her, a girl he seems to be in love with.
“Please, don’t act like I don’t know you. If I leave now without you, you won’t go. You’ll finish the essay and then you’ll hide here. Nope. You’re going to have fun tonight if I have anything to do with it.”
“Fine…” you mumble, turning back to the book to reread the last paragraph.
Another half an hour or so passes until you’re semi-satisfied with your essay. You set your quill down as you reread the entire thing, a frown appearing on your face. It’s not nearly as good as you want it to be. You should probably rewrite it.
“Ah, give it here,” Sirius says, holding his hand out expectantly.
“It’s no good,” you reply, shaking your head. “I need to rewrite it.”
“Let me read it. I’m sure it’s fine.” He tilts his head while giving you a firm look. “Go change. I’ll read it while you’re gone. If it’s as bad as you think it is, we’ll work on it more. If you’re being hard on yourself, we’ll get you a drink to help you unwind.”
You sigh dramatically. You leave the essay on the desk for Sirius to grab, instead of handing to him. You trudge up the stairs to your dorm to change into something more party-like. Your indecisiveness means that you try on several outfits before finding something that you don’t hate. You don’t want to look like too much, too good. If you’re going to try to help Sirius get this mystery girl, you couldn’t be outshining her.
When you return to the common room, Sirius has cleaned up all of your things into neat piles.
“Oh, you look lovely!” he declares when he notices that you’re back. “And your essay, easily an E. Trust me. We ensure that Pete gets at least an A on every essay and that was better than what he’s turning in.”
You roll your eyes at the ‘we’. You knew the Marauders often treated homework as group assignments. He holds out his arm for you to take, which you do with some hesitation.
“Shall we go find your girl at this party?” you ask.
“We shall,” he says with a smile as he leads you out of the Gryffindor Common Room and toward Ravenclaw Tower.
Once past the eagle knocker, Sirius is quick to get a drink in both his and your hands. You scan the room, seeing the rest of the Marauders and your other friends. You aren’t looking for them though. You’re trying to see if you can spot the girl who is so beautiful and desirable that Sirius would switch up his methods to diminish the risk of losing her.
“Let’s find your girl,” you say, leaning into Sirius’ shoulder.
He doesn’t say anything, but he guides you around the room. You pause to say hi to some of your friends in Ravenclaw. You expect Sirius to keep walking in search of the girl. He doesn’t. He remains at your shoulder, giving friendly smiles to the people you’re talking to. You lead him toward where the other Gryffindors are gathered.
“Black!” Marlene yells as she grabs him by his shoulders. “Thank you for getting her out!”
You’re taken aback by her comment, although it wasn’t uncommon for you to miss a party. You often found yourself reminding your friends that Hogwarts was in fact a school and not a party central.
“Oh, it’s my pleasure,” he tells Marlene, grinning.
He puts an arm around your waist and pulls you closer to him. You feel your face burn so you try to hide it with your cup. Maybe you can pass it off as the room being too hot or being flushed from the alcohol. Only Sirius knows it’s your first drink, right?
You try to focus on what your friends are saying and laughing about, but the feeling of Sirius’ arm, his hand and his body are too much. Your body feels like it’s being constantly electrocuted. You take slow sips from your cup, as if the drink will somehow alleviate the feeling. You can only imagine how this looks to his mystery girl. You pressed into Sirius’ side with his arm around you as he talks and laughs? You’re trying not to melt into his touch. You try to keep the idea of this other girl in your mind. But you like having his arm around you a bit too much.
“Shit, this is a good song!” Sirius roars before lowering his voice to whisper in your ear, “Dance with me, lovely?”
You look up with him with concerned eyes. “How will that look to that girl you really like?”
You hate that you have to keep reminding him that he was supposed to be looking for this girl and flirting with her, rather than spending all of his time with you. He just gives you his trademark smile.
“It will show off my amazing dancing skills. Come on, you didn’t say no!”
He pulls you away from your friends into the crowds of people dancing. Sirius is far more at his leisure than you are. You would much rather be on a bench off to the side, sipping on a new drink as the music fills your senses. At least, you think that until Sirius has his hands on your hips, helping you move to the music.
“Ah, there it is! She does have rhythm!” he cheers with his face close to yours. It’s close enough to feel the heat of his breath and to smell the spiked punch.
Everything about the moment makes your heart pound in your chest. For a second, the idea of his mystery girl flits into your mind, but she is banished as Sirius spins you around. Your laughter mixes with his and the sounds of people around you, laughing themselves and singing along to the music. You never fancied yourself a dancer before now, but with Sirius so close and all of his attention on you, it feels right. You wouldn’t mind if you could live in this moment forever.
When the music switches to something slower, you prepare yourself to see Sirius move back toward your friends. You don’t expect him to place his hands on your waist and pull you even closer.
You don’t expect him to lean in and whisper, “Put your hands around my neck, sweetheart. That’s how you slow dance.”
You do as told. It makes it easier to hide your bright red face in his shoulder. You know how to slow dance; you just never did it with anyone before. You certainly hadn’t expected your first slow dance to be with Sirius. It made sense to a point though that it would be with your best guy friend, someone you were comfortable with.
The song ends too soon for you. The next song is back to the upbeat rhythm that previously filled the room. Your heart beat is too loud in your ears to process it.
“I need another drink,” you tell Sirius before walking away from him.
You did need a drink, but you also need a moment away from him. ‘He’s in love with someone else’ is on repeat in your head. You can’t have yourself falling deeper in love with him when you know his heart belongs to someone else, someone he wouldn’t even tell you the name of.
When you have a fresh glass in your hand, you turn to look for Sirius in the crowd where you left him. He’s not there. You spot him back with the Marauders. It makes you frown. He was supposed to be finding this girl and asking her to dance, not spending the whole night with you and the boys. You want to remind him of that, but something prevents you from doing it. You walk over to the girls, hoping that maybe they’re talking about something interesting.
“Isn’t this so much better than essays?” Lily asks, leaning almost all of her body weight on your shoulder as soon as you join them.
“I mean, I guess so,” you answer.
“Oh, please,” Mary laughs. “It looked like you were enjoying yourself with Sirius out there.”
Your blush immediately returns.
“So is it a thing? You ‘n’ him?” she asks.
Marlene turns her full attention to you at the question and Lily throws her arms around you in a hug.
“It really should be!” Lily gushes, her voice far too loud in your ear. “You’d be so cute together! It’s obvious he adores you!”
You smile as you shrug Lily off.
“Sorry to disappoint, but he’s infatuated with someone else,” you say, mockingly saying infatuated to make yourself feel better. You try to hold in a sigh.
“Who?” Marlene demands. “We’ll take care of her!”
“Dunno. He won’t tell me.”
Marlene and Lily don matching frowns and furrowed brows.
“Darling! There you are!” Sirius’ voice booms.
The three girls glare at him.
“What’d I do?” he asks, his arm finding its place around your shoulders.
“I’ll tell you what you did, Black,” Marlene starts.
“Nothing! You did nothing,” you say quickly, cutting Marlene off before she can say too much.
While you’ve never said anything directly about liking Sirius to them, you’re sure it’s obvious to them now and you’ll hear more about it tomorrow.
“Well, I’m not interrupting anything, am I?” he asks cautiously, eyeing the girls who are still glaring daggers at him.
“No, you’re not,” you say firmly, also eyeing the girls.
You really hope they don’t say anything right now that would embarrass you and possibly hurt the friendship you have so carefully preserved.
“Then I’m sure they won’t mind if I steal you away again!” he says cheerfully and steers you away from them.
He takes you to a quieter area down a few flights of stairs and stopping on a landing. Based on the doors you’ve passed, you figure you’re by the dorms. You’re glad that he took you down rather than up because the air is significantly cooler.
“Did you find your mystery girl?” you ask as he leans against the wall, sipping his own drink that he must’ve refilled at some point.
He nods.
You cock your head to the side. “Then why haven’t you stolen her away to this little spot?”
He chuckles. “What makes you think I haven’t?”
“You’ve already ditched her?” you ask accusingly.
“No!” He stands up straighter and moves closer to you. “No, I’m with her right now.”
“But it’s just us here?”
He takes another step toward you and tucks some of your hair behind your ear.
“Oh, darling, I mean this in the nicest way possible, but you are so clearly not a Ravenclaw.”
“What the fuck does that mean?” you spit. “Are you calling me stupid?”
He throws his head back, laughing.
“Yes! Yes, I am.”
You scoff and take a step back from Sirius.
“Well then.” You turn to go up the stairs because why did Sirius steal you away to insult you?
“No, listen!” He reaches out to stop you from heading back to the party. “You’re not stupid. Blind? Maybe. A bit dense right now? Yeah.”
“You’re not helping yourself,” you say dryly.
“It’s you. You’re the… mystery girl, as you’ve been calling her. It’s been you the whole time.”
You freeze for a moment.
“What?” you breathe. That can’t be right.
“When I asked you about how girls flirt? I was asking how to know if you were ever flirting with me. But then you never did any of those things. Maybe one or two once or twice. So I asked how I could flirt with you. I know you enough to know that you wouldn’t want me to use those cheesy or dirty lines on you. You wouldn’t want an overtly public declaration of love to ask you to Hogsmeade. But even with your advice, you don’t seem to respond to me.”
He stops talking for what feels like an eternity. He’s scanning your face for a reaction, for any kind of sign from you, but all he gets is utter shock and confusion.
“What?” you repeat in the same quiet voice of disbelief.
He takes a step toward you so that his body is almost touching yours.
“The girl I really like and don’t want to mess things up with? She’s you. She’s been you for a while now. And I’m asking you how you feel about me because you can be so hard to read sometimes.”
His voice is so soft and honest. You blink slowly as you gaze into those grey eyes you love so much.
“She’s me?” you echo his sentiment.
“Yes. Please, love, I need to know. Do you like me or have I just made a rather large fool of myself?”
“That’s why you didn’t want to come unless I did,” you whisper more to yourself than to Sirius, ignoring his question and the way his eyes filled with uncertainty as you did so. “That’s why you’ve been complimenting me more and offering to carry my bag. Oh…”
“Love?” he asks with a wavering voice.
You’ve never heard him so nervous before. His hand slowly reaches up to cup your face.
“Please…” he whispers.
“This is all… real?” you ask, placing your hand on top of his.
“Yes. It’s so real.”
You smile. It’s wide and filled with the most joy you’ve ever felt. But then it disappears as you glare at Sirius.
“Don’t you ever call me stupid again,” you say firmly.
“I won’t.” There’s a beat of silence. “Wait, so do you-”
You cut him off by pressing your lips to his. It was a moment of Gryffindor braveness that you usually didn’t showcase. It took Sirius by surprise. He takes a moment to process that you, the girl he’s been pining over for a while, is kissing him and that he should kiss you back. But he does and it’s everything you’ve dreamed it would be. All of those times you’ve thought about his mystery girl, you never really considered that she could be you. As much as you dreamed it, you never really believed you could be the girl he described as the sweetest, the most beautiful, the kindest and most wonderful, perfection. But you were and you felt it as Sirius wraps his arms around you to hold you close, even after you broke away from the kiss.
“Oh, the girls were glaring at you earlier because I told them you liked someone else after they asked if we were dating.”
“Hmm, too bad that someone else is you,” he mumbles against your shoulder, still not letting you go. “We can correct your misinformation later. You’re mine now.”

Could i request getting stuck in an elevator with Spence after hours at the BAU and the lights go out (we all know his scared of the dark) and the reader is as scared as him because she's afraid of elevators (this is a genuine fear of mine) so imagine them trying to comfort each other. just some hurt/comfort ig? I live and breathe your content <3
scared — spencer reid
pairing: spencer reid x fem!reader ( no use of y/n ) content warnings: they're stuck in an elevator , lights go out , mention of claustrophobia a/n: hiii !!! hope you like this :)
"I don't think so," you mumbled, deep in thought as you walked beside Spencer toward the elevator.
"I disagree," Spencer countered without hesitation, reaching out to press the button. The faint ding of the call confirmed the elevator’s arrival.
You sighed, already anticipating a full breakdown of his reasoning as to why he thinks Hotch has been dating someone. "Of course, you do."
Spencer turned his head slightly, giving you that all-too-familiar Reid look—the one that said, I have evidence, and you’re about to hear all of it. "Hotch has come in two minutes later than usual. Twice this week alone."
You raised an eyebrow. "Two whole minutes?"
"And," Spencer continued, ignoring your sarcasm, "he’s left work earlier than usual."
The elevator doors slid open, and you both stepped inside. You smirked as you pressed the button for your floor. "Define 'earlier.' You mean, like, 2 AM?"
"Actually, 1:30 AM," Spencer corrected matter-of-factly.
You chuckled, shaking your head. "Right. Because that extra thirty minutes is so telling."
Spencer crossed his arms. "Patterns matter."
Before you could tease him further, the elevator lurched to a sudden stop. In the same instant, the dim glow of the overhead lights flickered and died, plunging you both into darkness.
For a second, neither of you moved.
"...Okay," you said slowly, shifting slightly. "Did we just—"
"Yes," Spencer cut in, his voice unusually tight.
"Okay. Okay," you whispered, your voice trembling. "We're okay." You repeated the words as if saying them out loud would make them true.
Fumbling in the dark, your hands searched desperately until they found the emergency button. You pressed it. Once. Twice. Then over and over. But nothing happened. No reassuring buzz, no static-filled response. Just silence.
"Oh my god," you muttered under your breath, pressing your back against the elevator wall.
Spencer wasn’t talking.
Your stomach twisted. "Spencer, what do we do?" you asked, your voice still unsteady.
Nothing.
You could barely see in the pitch-black space, but you knew he wasn’t moving either.
"Spence," you called again, softer this time, hoping—praying—for a response.
Finally, he spoke, but his voice was barely a whisper. "I'm sure it’ll work soon."
That was when it hit you. His fear of the dark.
The quiet strain in his tone. The way he hadn’t moved an inch.
Your fear of being trapped was bad enough, but his fear was the one you hadn’t considered.
Swallowing hard, you shifted slightly, reaching out blindly in the darkness. "Spencer," you murmured, your hand brushing against his. He flinched, just barely, but he didn’t pull away.
"You’re okay," you whispered, echoing your own words from earlier—this time, meant for him.
A shaky breath. Then another. His fingers tightened around yours.
"Let's sit down," you murmured, your voice just as unsteady as his.
Carefully, you stepped back until your back met the cool metal wall, then slid down to the floor, gently tugging Spencer down with you. He followed wordlessly, his hand still clasped in yours. His shoulder brushed against yours.
"Are you okay?" you asked softly.
Spencer barely responded, letting out a small, noncommittal "Mhmm." It was so quiet you couldn’t tell if it was a yes or a no.
Your heart clenched.
So, you did the only thing you could think of: you started talking. Quickly. Without pause. Not entirely sure if you were distracting him or yourself.
"You know, I'm actually terrified of elevators," you blurted, tracing absent patterns over the back of his hand with your fingertips. It was meant to be a casual confession, but your voice still trembled.
Spencer shifted slightly beside you. "Really?" he whispered.
"Yeah." You exhaled a small laugh, shaking your head. "I hate being stuck in small spaces. Something about the walls closing in. And, well—" You gestured vaguely in the darkness. "Here we are. Living my worst nightmare."
There was a pause, then—so quietly you almost missed it—Spencer said, "Mine too."
Your hand instinctively tightened around his.
Neither of you said anything for a moment.
Then Spencer’s voice broke the silence, his words coming out in a rush. "The likelihood of something happening in an elevator is actually incredibly low," he began, his usual rambling tone filling the dark space between you. "In fact, only about one in ten million elevators experience a malfunction that leads to an accident. The technology has improved drastically over the years. In the last decade alone, elevator-related fatalities have dropped by nearly 70% due to modern safety protocols, like automatic brakes, emergency communication systems, and—"
He trailed off, and you could feel the way his hand gripped yours a little tighter. His usual enthusiasm for facts seemed to be lacking the usual comfort he drew from them.
You couldn’t help but notice the subtle tremor in his voice , so you gave his hand a reassuring squeeze.
Then, he cleared his throat softly.
"You know," he began, his voice still quiet, "statistically speaking, the odds of us being stuck in this elevator for more than an hour are incredibly low. Most malfunctions are resolved within 30 to 45 minutes. And, uh, even if it takes longer, we’re perfectly safe. The oxygen levels in here are more than sufficient for two people for several hours. Not that I’ve calculated it or anything—" He paused, and you could almost hear the faint blush creeping into his cheeks, even in the darkness. "Okay, I might have calculated it. But only because it’s interesting. Not because I was worried or anything."
You couldn’t help but smile. "Of course not," you teased gently, your thumb brushing over his knuckles. "You’re never worried."
"Exactly," he said and you could practically hear the awkward smile in his voice. "And, um, even if we were stuck here for a while, which we won’t be, I’d… I’d make sure you were okay. I mean, not that you need me to, obviously. You’re perfectly capable. But, you know, just in case. I’d… I’d be here."
His words were stumbling, awkward, and so utterly Spencer that it made your chest tighten. You leaned your head against his shoulder, feeling the warmth of him beside you.
"Thanks, Spence," you murmured. "That means a lot."
He shifted slightly. "And, uh, if you’re scared of small spaces, maybe we could… I don’t know, distract ourselves? I could tell you some facts. Or, um, we could play a game. Like… 20 Questions. Or…" He trailed off, clearly unsure if he was helping.
You chuckled softly, the sound easing some of the tension in the air. "20 Questions sounds good. But only if you promise not to ask me something impossible, like the atomic weight of uranium or something."
He let out a small, nervous laugh, his fingers tightening around yours. "I wouldn’t do that. Probably. Maybe. I'll try not to."
"Deal," you said, grinning despite the darkness. "You start."
There was a pause, and then Spencer’s voice softened, his tone shifting from awkward to something warmer, more sincere. "Okay. Um… what’s your favorite memory at the BAU ?
You smiled softly, pressing your head against Spencer’s shoulder as you thought about his question. Your favorite memory at the BAU? There were so many to choose from. But one memory stood out, and it was impossible not to think of him when it came to mind.
"My favorite memory at the BAU…" you began, your voice warm and a little nostalgic, "was that time you stayed late with me to help reorganize the case files after Garcia accidentally knocked over the entire shelf. Remember that?"
Spencer let out a small, breathy laugh, his shoulder shaking slightly. "How could I forget? Garcia was so upset she brought us an entire tray of cookies the next day. And then she knocked over my coffee cup trying to apologize."
You grinned, the memory vivid in your mind. "Yeah, but… it wasn’t the cookies or the chaos that made it my favorite. It was you. You stayed with me for hours, even though you didn’t have to. And you kept making these ridiculous jokes. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed that hard at work before."
Spencer was quiet for a moment, and you could feel the way his hand tightened ever so slightly around yours.
"Oh," he said softly, his voice tinged with something you couldn’t quite place. "I, um… I didn’t realize you remembered that."
"Of course I do," you said, your tone gentle. "You made a boring, tedious task into something fun."
There was another pause, and then Spencer cleared his throat, his voice a little higher than usual. "Well, um… your turn. Ask me something."
You thought for a moment. "Okay… what’s something you’ve never told anyone at the BAU?"
Spencer was silent for so long that you almost thought he wasn’t going to answer.
But then he said, his voice so quiet you had to strain to hear it, "I… I’ve never told anyone this, but… sometimes, when I’m working late and the office is empty, I talk to the files. Like, out loud. As if they’re people. It helps me think."
You blinked, surprised, and then a laugh bubbled up from your chest. "You talk to the files?"
"Yes," he said, his tone defensive but playful. "And before you laugh, it’s actually a proven psychological technique. Vocalizing thoughts can help with memory retention and problem-solving."
"Uh-huh," you said, still grinning. "And what do the files say back?"
"Nothing," he said, his voice dry. "They’re very good listeners."
You laughed again, the sound filling the small space, and Spencer chuckled softly beside you. For a moment, the darkness didn’t feel so oppressive.
"Your turn," you said, still smiling.
Spencer hesitated, then asked, his voice soft and tentative, "What’s… what’s something you’ve never told me?"
Your breath caught, and you felt your cheeks flush. There were so many things you’d never told him—things you’d been too afraid to say, too unsure of how he’d react.
"I’ve never told you," you began, your voice trembling slightly, "that I’m really glad you’re here. With me. Right now. I mean, not here here, stuck in an elevator, but… just… in general. You make everything better, Spencer. Even when it’s scary. Even when it’s dark and small."
There was a long pause, and then Spencer’s hand tightened around yours. "I’m glad I’m here too," he said, his voice barely a whisper. "With you."
But before either of you could say anything else, the elevator jerked suddenly, the lights flickering back on.
You blinked, squinting against the sudden brightness, and then the elevator began to move again.
Spencer let out a shaky breath, his hand still clasped in yours. "Well," he said, his voice a little unsteady, "that was… an experience."
"Yeah," you said, your voice just as shaky. "But… not a bad one."
He turned to look at you, his eyes searching yours, and for a moment, it felt like the world had stopped. Then the elevator dinged, the doors sliding open to reveal the familiar hallway.
Spencer hesitated, then stood, pulling you to your feet with him. "Come on," he said, his voice soft. "Let’s get out of here."
You nodded with a small smile, your hand still in his as you stepped out of the elevator.

“Look at you, you look so pretty!” Tigris beamed, adjusting the straps of your dress. “Doesn’t she, Coryo?”
In his peripheral, Coriolanus could see his cousin had turned to look at him expectantly, but his eyes were already on you. They always had been, and always would be.
“Yes, she does,” he replied without thought.
You faced him with a smile, and Coriolanus couldn’t help the pride that swarmed him just looking at you.
It was because of him that you were in his life, and until the day he died Coriolanus knew it would remain the best decision he ever made.
As children during the war, when he and Tigris would scavenge the streets, Coriolanus stumbled across you. Not much younger than him, huddled behind a pillar, all alone. You had a half a loaf of bread. It wasn’t fresh, but he still didn’t understand where you got it. You tore it in half and shared it with him.
He returned to Tigris with you in tow, his small hand clutching your even smaller one, and his cousin took pity.
She also took the brunt of the consequence for bringing home another mouth to feed, but sacrifices had to be made, didn’t they?
It was worth it. You were worth it to him—to both of them, really.
As you got older, Grandma’am eventually took a liking to you, although Coriolanus wondered if it was because she could see how much he cared for you.
It didn’t matter. Not really. You were part of the family now, even if you did not share the Snow name.
“Thank you, Tigris,” you said sweetly, pulling the older girl into a hug.
It was a big day for both you and Coriolanus. The academy was hosting an event for students to mingle with administration and alumni of the university.
Coriolanus had put on his best outfit—he already knew it was the same one he was going to wear when the Plinth Prize winner was announced in only a few weeks. He was sure it was going to be him.
Tigris had fashioned your dress by hand. Coriolanus was past questioning how she paid for her fine fabrics, but he had an inclination it was the same way they could suddenly afford food some days.
The long dress reminded Coriolanus of freshly fallen snow, the white holding a sense of purity and wealth that his family once had. It had a sense of elegance that you only furthered with donning it, but it lacked an extravagance that would force you to stand out.
It was perfect.
You parted from Tigris to approach Coriolanus. You had a light smile on your face as your hands ran down his black vest, adjusting it.
“We almost match,” you commented, referring to the white shirt beneath said vest. “If only I had something black.”
“Well, I’d let you borrow this, but then we’d be in the same position, only switched,” he teased lightly, drawing a small chuckle from you.
Coriolanus liked when you looked up at him, same as he liked hearing your laugh.
“Don’t worry, I’ll survive without.” Your hands fell to your sides. “Besides, it definitely looks more handsome on you.”
Hearing those words from you meant more than you’d ever know, and more than he’d let himself acknowledge.
You were so good to him, he couldn’t imagine spending the evening with anyone else.
When he walked into the ballroom of the academy with you on his arm, Coriolanus got a rush of power. Especially when heads turned. Looking at him, looking at you, just looking.
He wondered what the minds behind all those gazing eyes were thinking.
He hoped it was a balanced amount of envy and respect.
“We should find Sejanus, let him know we’re here,” you said, not thinking much of the sentence as you looked around the room, taking in the people and the decor.
Coriolanus thought everything of it, a sourness settling over him. Sejanus was his friend, but Coriolanus wished they hadn’t gotten as close as they did. It was because of his friendship with Sejanus that you met him, and began to develop… feelings for him.
God, Coriolanus hated to even think about it.
When you told him you had begun dating Sejanus, Coriolanus nearly had a heart attack. Then he felt violent. Not towards you. Never towards you.
It wasn’t just because he felt protective of you, or because Sejanus was district, or because Coriolanus knew you were far, far too good for his friend… it was everything. All of that and everything in between.
Before you could find him, Sejanus found you.
He was in a fine black suit, finer than anything Coriolanus owned, and a bright smile appeared on his face at the sight of you.
That was one thing they still had in common. Reverence for you.
“Had to come find my girl before everyone thinks she ditched me,” Sejanus joked, pulling a laugh from you. “Where have you guys been?”
“Making sure we look our best,” you replied, shooting Coriolanus a wink.
If Sejanus wasn’t reaching for you, Coriolanus might’ve smiled.
“Well, you did a wonderful job.”
Coriolanus let you slip away from his side, reluctantly giving you away to Sejanus.
The unfortunate thing was Sejanus was truly a decent person. Not perfect, but decent. Better than most, even if he was beneath you all. You cared nothing for status, and seemed to really like him. He treated you right from what Coriolanus had seen, making disapproval not exactly warranted.
Although, Coriolanus was always going to be incredibly protective of you. He doubted there was a world where he would be pleased with any relationship you found. Your interest in other people was becoming tiresome, truthfully. Did you really even need friends? Or lovers? You had Coriolanus, and he was sure that was enough.
His jaw clenched when you pressed a light kiss to Sejanus’s cheek. It would be much simpler if he was a terrible person. Coriolanus would have an excuse outside of his own selfishness to separate you—which he did not have now.
“Can I ask for this dance?” Sejanus wondered, shooting you a smile. At least he had the awareness to still look anxious.
But you… you grinned. You were too good.
“Well you just asked, so I guess you can,” you started sarcastically, but let him off the hook quickly. “And of course I’ll say yes.”
Sejanus looked relieved, taking your hand in his. You turned to look at Coriolanus, a small bit of guilt in your expression. You clearly hadn’t been planning on leaving his side so soon. You masked it with the same teasing tone you’d used before.
“I won’t be long, don’t get too bored without me, Coryo.”
Coriolanus only smiled for your sake. It fell the moment Senjanus led you away to a small group of other students dancing together.
From the sidelines, Coriolanus watched as Sejanus led you in a slow dance. He tried to avoid his eyes landing on his friend. He didn’t want to view the two of you in the same light as the other couples embracing one another.
Coriolanus tried to remember the first moment he realized how beautiful you were. It was so long ago, it wasn’t something he was even aware he thought so often.
The sun rose in the morning, roses had thorns, and you were beautiful.
It was simple as that.
After a dance and a half, Coriolanus couldn’t take it anymore.
His feet carried him to the dance floor, mind absent as he tried to justify his jealousy as protectiveness. Yes, that’s all he was. Protective. Like an older brother… like what he was supposed to be. Even if it wasn’t what he wanted to be.
You and Sejanus were swaying and talking, but as he snuck up on the two of you, Coriolanus couldn’t make out the words. It didn’t matter.
You turned your head to look at him, smiling in surprise at his presence.
“Coryo!”
“Can I cut in?” Coriolanus requested. His hand itched to rest on your shoulder, but he withheld. He wasn’t going to take no for an answer, and he briefly wondered if Sejanus sensed that or not.
“All yours,” Sejanus agreed, spinning you by the hand. You turned in a circle, then a half, facing Coriolanus. “I’m going to go find my father, he’s here tonight,” he informed.
“I’ll come find the two of you in a few minutes,” you told Sejanus, who nodded then headed off. Before he did, he looked to Coriolanus and said, “Take good care of her.”
“I always do,” Coriolanus responded easily, because it was the truth. He didn’t need Sejanus telling him that. He’d been there for you long before either of you even knew his friend existed. He looked down to you, taking your hand in his while the other fell to your waist. You looked amused. “I do, don’t I?”
“Yes, Coryo,” you replied with a smile. “Better than anyone.”
The slow waltz felt so natural, your movements in tune with his without thought. You two were always like that, always in sync.
“What were you and Sejanus talking about?” Coriolanus wondered, curiosity getting the best of him.
“Nothing important,” you dismissed with a shrug. “Sweet nothings.”
Coriolanus didn’t miss the shy smile appearing on your face. He couldn’t control the frown trying to take over his.
A more thoughtful look crossed your face, your smile faltering.
“Are you happy for me, Coryo?”
Coriolanus blinked.
“I… want to be,” he confessed, eyes scanning your face. It was the truth for the most part. He did want you to be happy, just not with Sejanus.
You nodded slowly, taking in his words. Coriolanus wished he could open your head and investigate every corner of your brain. He wanted to know every thought you had.
“Sejanus is your friend, I would’ve thought…” you swallowed and looked away. “Never mind.”
“No, what is it?” Coriolanus pressed, tilting his head, trying to make you meet his gaze.
When you did, he saw the disappointment in your eyes.
You stepped back from him, parting completely.
“I need to find Sejanus. I’ll put in a good word for you about the Plinth Prize with his father.”
Then, you departed, not leaving room for Coriolanus to argue for you to stay.
He would’ve, and you knew that.
The moment you disappeared from his view, Coriolanus went looking. You had moved quickly. He found you across the room, sitting down at a table with Sejanus and Mr. Plinth.
He didn’t approach, he couldn’t make himself look bad in front of Mr. Plinth.
So he watched you talk, and drink, and laugh, and drink some more…
“I can’t believe she’s doing this,” Arachne whispered, suddenly appearing at his side. Coriolanus looked down at her. She was clearly talking about you. He could see the way she flicked her heavily decorated eyes in your direction. “Associating with him was one thing, but… well”—Arachne let out a vicious laugh—“do you think their children will call her “Ma” too?”
Coriolanus felt ill at the thought. Leave it to Arachne to provoke him, to conjure up nightmares he hadn’t even thought of yet himself.
“She’ll come to her senses,” Coriolanus muttered, gritting his teeth.
Arachne rolled her eyes. “Let’s hope so,” she mused, continuing on her way, blood red dress dragging behind her with each step.
Coriolanus looked back to you. He was overwhelmed with nausea as Sejanus grabbed your hand atop the table. Damn Arachne for placing that thought in his head.
He watched as you lifted another glass to your lips, smiling along as Sejanus talked to his father. What was that, your third? Sejanus had yet to say anything to you. He was fine with allowing you to get intoxicated?
Drinking alcohol wasn’t exactly a crime, but Sejanus didn’t know you well enough to know you were inexperienced. The last thing Coriolanus wanted was you making a fool of yourself.
Darker thoughts crept in. Maybe Sejanus was allowing you to inebriate yourself on purpose. The thought of him climbing on top to you made Coriolanus’s blood boil. His fingers twitched to form a fist, and his jaw clenched even tighter.
In that moment, Coriolanus decided he wouldn’t let Arachne’s mockery come true.
He had to help you. You needed his protection, even when you didn’t know it. You needed him. You always would. Coriolanus could remind you, then perhaps you'd see you didn’t even need Sejanus at all.
When you left the table—Coriolanus wasn’t sure why—he saw his opportunity. He approached you quickly, finding no problem in catching your arm and leading you away from the party. Away from all the people, where it could just be the two of you.
Out a door, down a long, empty corridor until the two of you ended up outside in the school’s garden. It was isolated from the party, you’d be safer here.
“Coryo? What—“
“Are you alright?” Coriolanus asked, cutting you off. He released you to stand across from you, leaving you to lean back against the stone wall behind you. “I saw how much you were drinking.”
You looked up at him, confused, but not frightened. If anyone else had handled you the way he did, you surely would’ve been. But you trusted him. You always had.
“Did I drink a lot?” you asked, a slight pout on your lips. “I didn’t notice.”
“Oh.” So, you were okay. That was good, wasn’t it? “I thought maybe you needed rescuing,” he admitted, unsure whether to feel embarrassed or not.
You chuckled a little and the sound washed over Coriolanus, bringing him a sense of relief from all his previous tension.
“My hero,” you said lightly, smiling up at him. You were always smiling at him, but Coriolanus no longer wondered if he was worthy of it all. “You’re always there for me, aren’t you?”
Coriolanus stepped closer. His hand rose, his fingertips trailing the outline of your face. Someone so pretty, so sweet, had to be careful in a cruel world like this.
“What would you do without me?” he proposed, not expecting an answer.
You didn’t need one, because you never would have to find out.
He’d follow you to the end of the Earth, just as he knew you’d follow him. You needed each other. You didn’t need Tigris or Grandma’am and especially not Sejanus, but without Coriolanus, who would you even be? Coriolanus couldn’t imagine his world without you in it. Not even if he tried.
Staring at you now, Coriolanus heard the voice in the back of his mind begin to whisper. The one that urged his protectiveness, knowing it was fueled by possession. The one he would use all his power to silence.
Something new had overcome him, watching you galavant around with Sejanus. Well, not new, but clear. Coriolanus finally had clarity. That’s what it was. That was how he finally acknowledged what had so long been lingering in his peripheral, just on the edge of his mind, waiting for the right moment.
Was this the right moment?
He made no effort to banish his most repressed thoughts. For once, he let them win.
Coriolanus leaned down, pressing his lips to yours. Gentle, testing the waters. You did not react right away. Maybe it wasn’t necessarily a good sign, but that didn’t stop him from using it as an excuse to deepen the kiss.
His other hand found your face, holding you against him as he nipped at your lip, begging you to invite him in.
Your reaction was delayed, and Coriolanus thought maybe, just maybe, you had been thinking the same thing he had all along. That the faint taste of alcohol on your lips meant you were feeling more open to exploring this with him, and that all you needed was a nudge in the right direction.
But no, you were turning your head, making his lips part from yours.
Coriolanus faltered, but you still did not speak. Your breaths were clipped—flustered and confused. He could understand that. His own heart was racing, although adrenaline and need were to blame for that.
“Coryo…” you whispered so softly he nearly didn’t hear it. “What are you doing?”
Leave it to you to not get angry with him. Or even upset. At this point he questioned if you were even capable of feeling anger at him.
Coriolanus stepped closer, making you have to tilt your head up to look at him.
“I don’t think I can share you,” he confessed under his breath, but with conviction. “I know I can’t and you… you don’t need anyone else. You have me.”
You swallowed, eyes looking down. “Sejanus—“
“Doesn’t know you like I do,” Coriolanus finished, one hand still holding your cheek, tilting your head, making you meet his eye again. “Seeing you with him… he’s not good enough for you.”
“I thought you were above judging him for being district.” You sounded so disappointed in him.
“I don’t care that he’s district, he’s not good enough because no one will ever be,” Coriolanus corrected, imploring you to understand.
With a light sigh, his eyes fell shut. Gently, he leaned to press his forehead to yours. He blindly reached for your hands, and found them in each of his with no problem.
“I would not be happy seeing you with anyone else,” Coriolanus confessed, voice low. “Not anyone but me.”
You inhaled slightly. Was it that big of a shock?
He gave you no chance to voice it because Coriolanus was capturing your lips again, passion erupting in his veins.
His mind was clouded with thoughts that fought for center attention, his built up desires controlling him as his hands and lips cascaded down your body. Your neck, your chest, your stomach—
“Coryo, what are you doing?” you questioned when he began to move lower.
“Shh, don’t worry,” he cooed, dismissing your concern.
Coriolanus finally fell to his knees in front of you. He’d never take such a humiliating position for anyone else. But with you, it didn’t feel humiliating. It was exhilarating, knowing he was on his knees worshiping you, but he still held all the power. It was nearly perfect.
You gasped a little when he gripped your right leg and maneuvered it over his shoulder. More of your weight rested back against the wall, unable to stand straight on just one leg.
He looked upward, watching your face the entire time as he pushed your dress up around your hips, revealing your underwear to him.
Coriolanus was so close and you had yet to move.
Words couldn’t find their way to his lips. It was all too overwhelming in the best way. His heart slamming against his rib cage was a welcome feeling, and so was the pressure on his knees.
You bucked away before his mouth could reach your core. Coriolanus didn’t think much of it. He had a lot of other images rushing through his brain. Ones he wanted to become reality.
He scooted forward and tried again, this time making contact with the layer of fabric separating him from your most intimate spot.
Coriolanus heard a choked noise from you as he ran his tongue across the front of your underwear.
Right away, he wanted more.
His hands found the material acting as a barrier and he gripped it then pulled, tearing it from you one leg at a time, exposing you to him.
Before it could fall to the ground, he caught the shredded material and stuffed it into his pocket.
He felt a bit guilty, knowing how little you all had when it came to clothing, but he wanted to do this the right way. Coriolanus wanted nothing blocking him from showing you how good he could make you feel.
As much as his eyes were tempted to linger, impatience got the best of him.
He made contact again, licking a stripe across your bare cunt. Once he got a taste, Coriolanus couldn’t hold back.
His mouth latched onto you, tongue sliding between your folds, drawing a stifled moan from you. You reached for his head, trying to knock him away, but Coriolanus persisted. His will easily overtook yours. You weren’t going to take this away from him, not when he could make you want it just as bad.
He held onto the leg over his shoulder, gripping your flesh, surely leaving bruises in his wake. He held the skirt of your dress up with the other hand. With his mouth, he devoured you. Lapping at your core like a man starved, even more so when wetness began to form.
This wasn’t something Coriolanus had done, but he knew you better than anyone. He was sure he could figure out your body. He’d dreamt about it long enough, making you fall apart for him in such an intimate way.
He soon found that to be the truth when in only a matter of minutes your body was tensing. He continued to drag his tongue across you, giving every bit of you his full attention. He liked the way your thighs quivered when his tongue brushed your clit, it gave him an excuse to hold you tighter.
Your whole body flinched suddenly, but he shoved your hips back, pinning you to the wall as he brought you to the edge
His own pants felt constricted as his senses were overwhelmed by you. Your taste, your scent, the sound of your choked down moans, your hands smacking the wall (unsure what else to do), the feel of you against his tongue and how your leg strained over his shoulder, and the sight of you when he looked up through his lashes… god, you were magnificent.
You whimpered from above, teeth digging into your bottom lip, as he finally made you come undone.
Coriolanus held you still, relishing in the way you finally jolted into his touch instead of away.
He couldn’t take his eyes off of you. You were the stuff of dreams in the most literal sense.
Your head tilted back against the wall, your ragged breaths causing your chest to rise and fall in an unsteady pattern. Your leg, still draped over his shoulder, was tense, even as he pressed a gentle kiss to your inner thigh.
A wide grin spread across Coriolanus’s face when you shivered. He couldn’t help himself. He nearly chuckled at your state, but then your hand moved to rake through his wavy locks. The sound caught in his throat as you tugged him away, finally looking down at him. The all consuming pleasure had faded into something more composed.
Coriolanus could tell how much of an effort you were making, and as your eyes struggled to focus, he briefly wondered how strong your drinks were.
“I’d like to go home now,” you said slowly, conscious not to let your voice falter.
You allowed him to help get both to your feet on the ground, but you did not touch him for the rest of the night, even when he tried to reach for you.
He was still hard behind the confines of his pants, imagining the slickness between your thighs that was the result of his actions. As you walked back through the ballroom, it took everything he had to not push you back against a nearby wall. People be damned, he wanted you more than anything.
He would press his chest to your back—no, he’d make you face him. Coriolanus wanted access to your lips so he could kiss you as much as he liked, even swallow down your moans when he lifted your dress around your stomach and—
A shiver of excitement coursed through Coriolanus’s body. What would your darling Sejanus think if he knew what just transpired? If he knew it was only for your dignity that Coriolanus wasn’t fucking you against the wall hard enough that you forgot where you even were?
You silently bid the party a farewell, forgetting to say goodbye to Sejanus (Coriolanus made no attempts to remind you). You continued to ignore him, hardly speaking and not even looking his way. Not as you walked from the school to the apartment. Stumbling up the stairs, you only spoke to claim you were fine as you gripped the handrail for dear life. Then you went back to silence as you traveled from the front door to your bedroom and locked the door.
Coriolanus only found out about the door because he’d tried to follow you in, but the door knob did not budge. You never used your lock.
Even if you weren’t ready to finish what had been started, it was still incredibly cold. Were you really upset enough to deprive him of your presence until the morning?
“What’s going on with you?” Coriolanus asked through the layer of wood. The taste of you still lingered on his tongue as it traced his bottom lip, waiting for your response. “Can we talk? Can you open the door?”
He gripped the knob tighter and tried again. It wasn’t going to suddenly unlock, but something urged him to prove it.
There was a faint thud as his forehead fell to the door, much as it had to yours not too long ago.
“Can I at least say goodnight to you?”
Again, no response.
He swallowed. Cleared his throat.
Again.
“Please?”
If they could afford to fix it, Coriolanus would break the door down.
He wasn’t sure how long he stood outside your door before begrudgingly going to his own room.
He laid in his bed and fished the underwear from his pocket. Your scent still lingered on them, and it was enough to fuel his imagination as he unbuttoned his pants and pretended his own hand on his cock was yours.
Even after finishing, Coriolanus had a nearly sleepless night. His mind was plagued with memories of his lips on yours, your dress bunched around your hips, him on his knees with his mouth on your cunt. He’d never forget the sounds you made.
When the sun rose, he returned to your door, only to find it still locked. He didn’t even knock, just simply grabbed the door knob and twisted.
You always woke up early for school, putting yourself together in a way that could reflect wealth that you did not truly have. Coriolanus was sure you did it for his sake, knowing how much appearances mattered to him.
You were good to him like that.
If only you’d let him in now.
The laugh that escaped him lacked humor. It was a bitter, frustrated sound.
His hands rested on his hips, his own fingertips pressing in. It was that or gripping the door knob and if he touched that thing again and found it locked…
“This isn’t funny anymore, Y/N,” Coriolanus called through the door. “If there’s a problem we can talk about it. Just stop acting like a child.”
“What, did she steal your blazer again?” Tigris wondered, appearing out of nowhere. Despite her voice being soft with sleep, Coriolanus was still startled.
“No, just a minor disagreement,” Coriolanus replied, quick on his feet as always. “Nothing to worry about, I’m sure we’ll talk it out.”
He emphasized the word ‘talk’, hoping you’d hear him through the door. If you did, he wouldn’t know. Tigris, on the other hand, just nodded and headed for the kitchen.
The smile he gave his cousin on her way was forced. She couldn’t tell that his teeth were clenched together, which was for the best.
A thought dawned on him. You could just be testing him.
Coriolanus knocked on the door and waited, like he’d just solved your puzzle.
What was that thing about insanity—trying the same thing over and over and expecting a different result?
“You’re going to have to come out of your room at some point,” he reminded, trying his best to make it not sound like a warning.
Coriolanus wasn’t used to being frustrated with you. You were usually his relief from people who made him feel this way. He didn’t understand why everything changed all of the sudden.
You’d enjoyed yourself while he got what he wanted. Why was that so bad?
You had always been an enigma, but Coriolanus felt as if he’d come to understand you—that he was the only one who did or would.
Sejanus would never know you the way he did, that was for certain.
From in your room, Coriolanus heard movement. Your dresser opening, maybe. It didn’t matter. You were awake. And ignoring him.
“Y/N? I know you’re awake.” The neediness in his voice was embarrassing. No one else could make him resort to this. “I can hear you. Are you coming out?”
“What is going on?” Grandma’am questioned, standing at the end of the hall. “You aren’t dressed for school. We can’t have you being late.”
Coriolanus looked down at himself. He’d gone to sleep in the outfit he’d worn the night before, and still wore it now.
Arguments died in his throat. You and Coriolanus walked to the academy together. You’d have to come out and talk to him. Grandma’am would drive you crazy if you missed a day of classes.
In record time, Coriolanus was in his uniform.
He might’ve been quick, but apparently you were quicker. As he opened the door to his room, he heard the front door shut.
“Whatever you did, Coryo, apologize,” Tigris advised when he chased the sound of your exit.
Coriolanus just looked at her. Why on Earth would he do that? He’d done nothing wrong.
Down the stairs and out of the building, Coriolanus finally—finally—got a glimpse of you. A flash of red as you turned the corner, setting off down the sidewalk.
It took nothing for him to catch up to you.
“How are you feeling?” he wondered first, recalling your drunken state. “I was worried about you.”
“Were you?” you challenged, eyes forward.
It was good to hear your voice, but Coriolanus furrowed his brows at your tone. You had no reason to be this rude.
“Of course I was, Y/N. How can you even ask me that?” His hand dropped to your shoulder, only for you to shrug it away. “What is wrong with you?”
You looked at him, finally, but the emotion in your gaze… there was something wrong with it. Something distant, lacking the affection those beautiful eyes of yours usually held for him.
Coriolanus swallowed.
“Are you really going to be like this? Is it because of Sejanus? You don’t have to be with him anymore.”
You turned your head forward.
“Leave me alone, I’d like to walk in silence.”
Since when had you become so spiteful? Coriolanus didn’t like it. It evoked something similar in him. He leaned down, getting near your ear.
“You liked it, I know you did,” he hissed out. Coriolanus hadn’t meant for it to come out so harsh, but you were being completely unfair to him right now. “You can’t lie to me.”
Despite the way you shuddered, your jaw remained clenched. You not talking to him was more infuriating than if you had screamed in his face. At least that way he could tell what you were thinking. But no, you wouldn’t allow him to be privy to your inner thoughts, no matter how much effort he put into prying them from you.
It wasn’t a conversation for the public, even Coriolanus knew that, so when you got to the academy a few steps ahead of him, he bit his tongue.
“What did you do to piss off your sister?” Clemensia asked him in a whisper in class. “You’re usually attached at the hip walking in.”
The way she called you his sister felt wrong in a way that it hadn’t before. Even if he never thought it fit when people would say that or assume it, something had shifted.
And was it that obvious? Coriolanus hadn’t even brought it up. He’d simply been a few steps behind you into the classroom. You’d gone to your desk without a word. Was that strange to everyone else too? It was validating, in a way, to know your behavior was, in fact, targeted and odd, but it also made him wonder what the two of you appeared to be from an outside perspective.
“It’s nothing,” Coriolanus lied to her under his breath, keeping his eyes on his paper.
“So you didn’t get into a fight?”
Coriolanus’s brows curved down. He glanced her way.
“A fight?”
“Arachne and Festus saw you pull her away from Sejanus and disappear somewhere last night.”
It was mostly the truth, but she said it so nonchalantly. She couldn’t know what happened after you disappeared. Coriolanus hadn’t seen a single person lay their eyes on either of you in that private moment.
“I get it,” she continued. “I wouldn’t want to be associated with someone from the districts either. She’s not thinking about how she’ll be perceived, or you. Don’t let her drag you down.”
Coriolanus just listened, the night flashing through his mind. No one could’ve known, there was no way.
He quickly corrected the hypocrisy in his own mind. He hadn’t done anything wrong, it was just private. No one else deserved to see you in that state—no one but him.
“We’re fine,” Coriolanus told her. “And her and Sejanus aren’t together anymore.”
Clemensia smirked to herself. “Good.”
Word spread quickly, and with the way you avoided Sejanus—a byproduct of you avoiding Coriolanus—everyone believed it. The final nail was the way you failed to appear at lunch. It got under Sejanus’s skin, causing him to question the state of your relationship without you to answer any said questions.
Truthfully, Coriolanus hadn’t seen anything as amusing in a long while, but your absence weighed on him, too.
The walk home alone was dreadful without you. Even in the morning when you had ignored him, it was better than you being completely gone.
When he got home, your door was shut. How quickly had you left your classes, how fast had you walked, all to avoid him?
This was growing old very, very quickly.
Grandma’am was on the roof with her roses, and Tigris seemed to be missing from the apartment. It was only because of that that Coriolanus devised a way to get into your room.
Why he didn’t think of picking the lock before, Coriolanus supposed it was because he thought you’d give in quicker and let him get the better of you. You were usually weak to him, allowing him to get his way without a problem. You had before.
“Last chance,” Coriolanus called through the locked door. He almost thought that would be enough. He wanted you to open it of your own will. “You can’t avoid me forever, just let me in.”
No such luck.
You looked surprised when he forced the door open, as if you really believed he would just take the loss. You were supposed to know him better than that.
You’d been sitting on your bed in pajamas, evidently already done with the day. Your legs were criss-crossed with a textbook in your lap. You looked up at him, a questioning expression taking over your features.
“What are you doing, Coryo?” you asked, voice low, eyes not quite meeting his directly.
“You weren’t opening the door.” Coriolanus squared his shoulders. “I wanted to talk to you.”
You shook your head, something between a sigh and a laugh escaping you in a puff of air. Coriolanus did not like the accusatory undertone.
“Did you think maybe I left it locked on purpose?” Were you mocking him? “That I wasn’t lying this morning and I really don’t want to speak to you?”
“That’s ridiculous,” Coriolanus insisted, closing your door behind him. He moved towards your bed, watching your body language the entire time as he finally sat on the edge beside you. “You thought I would just let you ignore me?”
You swallowed, closing the book in your lap. “I guess not,” you admitted, setting the textbook aside. “I am well aware of your ego.”
A frown crested Coriolanus’s lip. “Is that what this is—you want to hurt me?”
You tilted your head, catching his gaze, much like he’d made you do the night before. It was the first time in nearly a day since you’d looked him dead in the eye.
“What do you want, Coryo?”
“I want you”
“You want me to what? Not be with Sejanus? Is that it? Is that why you did what you did?”
“You say that like it was something awful. I was there too.” Coriolanus felt a familiar heat rush through him at the memory. “I know what I saw.”
“You humiliated me.”
“In front of who? No one saw us.”
“That’s not the point.”
“Then what is? Because you know Sejanus is weak?” Coriolanus searched your eyes and leaned in closer. He was feeling antagonistic. “I mean, how could he touch you, knowing I got there first?”
Coriolanus caught your hand as you raised it, presumably to strike him.
“Is that what we’ve resorted to?”
He squeezed your wrist, enough to cause pain. You winced and tried to move away, but Coriolanus wasn’t going to let you get away.
“I could ask you the same,” you sneered, sounding like an entirely different person.
“What has happened to you?” Coriolanus questioned. He took a breath. “Do you want me to be sorry for what I’ve said? Fine, then, I apologize. But I’m not sorry for what I’ve done. You should not be with him.”
“I’m supposed to believe someone driven by jealousy?” you inquired back, blinking back tears. Why were you being so dramatic? “How can I trust anything you have to say to me now?”
Coriolanus was taken aback by the question. Did you really not trust him anymore? Even with the tight hold on your wrist, he could feel you slipping from his grasp. If you were to leave him, he’d never forgive the universe for its twisted irony. Coriolanus put so much time and care into you because he wanted you. His family didn’t, at least not at first, but even so, you’d have nothing if it wasn’t for him. Is that what you wanted to leave him with now? Nothing? Nothing but the memory of when you were his?
No, that wouldn’t do.
It just wouldn’t.
“You can trust me, I promise,” Coriolanus insisted, pleading, even. “I love you, I always have—you can’t have expected me to sit back and do nothing while you…”
You looked more betrayed, if that was even possible. He was trying to make it better but explaining was only making it worse. Coriolanus had never met a person where the more he talked, the more he tried to persuade them, they believed him less. In that way again you were an anomaly.
If Coriolanus couldn’t tell you, he could show you. He had to make you understand—he could salvage this and get what he wanted in the end. If he was anything, it was persistent. It had worked before, excluding the aftermath.
Coriolanus moved, keeping his hold on your wrist as he shoved you down, pulling himself up and then on top of you in a fluid motion.
You squirmed, questioning, “What are you doing?”
Coriolanus caught your other hand and brought it to join your other wrist he already had a hold of in one hand. He straddled your waist, keeping your body pinned.
“You won’t listen to me,” he pointed out. Something inside him urged him to lean down. “But I can still prove it to you, that it’s me you should be with. No one else.”
Then he crashed his lips onto yours. It was more forceful than it had been the previous night, ensuring you couldn’t turn away again. His tongue was already in your mouth before you thought to turn your head.
It didn’t matter if you didn’t kiss him back, Coriolanus was in bliss. Your lips were soft, molding perfectly to his. You moaned into his mouth, or maybe it was a protest, but it made his body heat up all the same. Coriolanus couldn’t get enough of you. Last night left him wanting more, not less.
More than that, he was determined. When he finally detached his lips from yours, the both of you panting, Coriolanus set forth on a track that wouldn’t allow him to turn around.
Even if he tried to take it back, everything would already be changed.
So he didn’t even bother hesitating. Coriolanus was determined, even, at yanking your clothes from your body.
Your words were jumbled by the time they reached his ears. His own heart racing with excitement drowned out any requests you had for him.
The word “stop” left his vocabulary until you yelled it too loud for his liking.
Your whole body shook when he clapped his hand over your mouth. Your top was completely gone, your chest heaving as you breathed through your nose. While Coriolanus could’ve easily been distracted by your state, he trained his eyes on your wide ones.
The word helpless crossed his mind, and he had to take a moment to control himself.
“Grandma’am is upstairs,” Coriolanus finally warned, voice low. “Don’t disturb her.”
You blinked. Coriolanus was almost surprised by the way you settled down, but it told him you understood the implications of alerting her.
Your position beneath Coriolanus had to be better than starving and cold on the street, didn’t it?
You didn’t have Sejanus anymore. If you thought you did, Coriolanus would make sure to remedy that with his friend before you got to him first.
As Coriolanus lifted his hand from your mouth, he silently implored he was the only one who could save you from being branded a liar.
Just as Coriolanus had always admired, you were a quick learner. As heartbroken as you looked, you didn’t raise your voice again.
“This isn’t how you make me want to be with you,” you pleaded. Coriolanus wasn’t sure whether to laugh or take it as a challenge.
“We’ll see,” he mused in response.
He got you bare, and then himself.
You averted your eyes from his body, which offended him more than he thought it would.
“You can look,” Coriolanus said, voice heavy.
Something about his voice must’ve gotten to you, because your eyes flicked between his legs. You swallowed and looked back away.
A prideful smirk overtook Coriolanus’s face.
He moved then, still keeping hold on your wrists in one hand, dragging them down over your belly, and placed himself between your legs.
With one hand still holding your wrists, Coriolanus shoved his other hand in between your legs, two prodding fingers finding your entrance before making their way in. Eagerness won out over his patience. He could take things slow later.
You tensed around him, fighting the intrusion, but he wasn’t going to let you win. Even if you weren’t squirming against him, you were resistant. Coriolanus slowly worked at breaking your resolve, massaging his fingers inside your walls, thumb on your clit.
He could see shame wash over your features when a wetness began to form, coating his fingers and allowing him to work you open for him.
“See, you can lie to me, but your body can’t,” Coriolanus asserted, voice thick with arousal.
That triggered something in you, and perhaps Coriolanus reacted too harshly.
It felt like it all happened in a flash. One moment you were on your back, beneath him, clenching around his fingers, and the next he had to manhandle you onto your chest and knees to fend off your attack and keep you still. He regained his hold on your hands quickly, pinning them behind your back while you panted from the short lived exertion.
Coriolanus leaned down to press his lips to your ear.
“I thought we agreed you weren’t going to fight me,” he growled.
Your shoulders shifted as you found further discomfort in your new position, but you didn’t speak. You wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of your voice—just like before.
Coriolanus wanted to watch your face as you submitted to him and his love for you, but if this was the only way he could have you for now, so be it.
He lined himself up with your entrance, enjoying the twitch of your body as he pressed the tip in.
Despite all the effort to get you where you were now, Coriolanus slid his cock into you with ease. Your body welcomed him, even if you didn’t.
He couldn’t help himself, his hips bucked forward, shoving himself into you deep. You whimpered into the pillow and Coriolanus’s mind went blank for a moment, basking in the feel of your warm cunt around him. It was better than he imagined.
His cock twitched inside of you, eager to fill you, but he had to make this last. Just like before, Coriolanus wanted to make you feel good. So good you had no choice but to want him.
Coriolanus drew his hips back after a few moments of just resting inside you. When only the tip remained, he thrust forward. Your body rocked against the mattress.
He did it again, this time slower. Forcing you to feel the drag of his thick cock inside of you. Coriolanus liked the way your body quivered as you succumbed to the pleasure he could give you.
You felt like heaven, all wet and warm and squeezing around him in a way that made him want to never leave you.
To show he trusted you, Coriolanus let your hands go. They immediately fell to grip the pillow beneath your head. You didn’t go to fight him and that counted for something. He had an ulterior motive, though, because now he could hold your hips with both hands.
He leaned down, pressing kisses to your back. He ran his hands along your skin, drinking the entirety of you in as he moved inside of you.
His movements were a bit slow, calculated, making you feel every inch of him stretching you out. Coriolanus imagined you rocking your hips back, your moans filling the room, eager for more. That would have to be saved for another time when you were more willing.
You body tensed and shivered, and Coriolanus knew you were getting close. You still had yet to speak.
It was petty, the sudden sharp thrust of his hips to shove his cock deep and hard into you.
A gasp—he drew a gasp from you.
He allowed his weight to fully fall on top of you, finally. Your skin was so warm on his chest, it was as if your body was trying to burn him off of you. Maybe it was all in his head. But it didn’t really matter. It was far too late for that.
“It’s okay to want it,” Coriolanus muttered into your ear.
He felt your body reacting and you were moments away from what he’d been pushing you towards. His thrusts grew shallow, not letting too much of himself leave you as you finally came undone.
You buried your face into the pillow, muffling your cry as you finally came around his cock. It was then that he got what he wanted, even if it was only brief. Your body spasmed and pushed back, trying to feel every inch of him stretching you out, clenching down to hold him there.
Coriolanus followed you soon after, cock throbbing in your walls, spilling inside of you and painting them white. He held your hips so tight he was sure he’d leave bruises as he held himself still, letting the both of you experience the sensation in full.
After however long—Coriolanus didn’t count the minutes—he withdrew from your body. He was a gentleman, so he helped you to lay down before your body collapsed on its own.
He laid down beside you, pulling your blanket over the top of both of your bodies with the intention to bring you comfort.
You were wordless, rolling onto your side, facing away from him.
Coriolanus turned with you, wrapping his arms around your midsection and pulling you back to him. He pressed a kiss to the back of your head before resting his lips near your ear.
“Do you really think not talking to me is the best idea?” he whispered, less frustrated than before.
You shook in his arms, but your voice was steady as you asked, “What do you expect me to say to you?”
Coriolanus didn’t have to think all that long.
“That you love me.”
You were silent for a moment, Coriolanus thought he was going to have to repeat himself.
“I did love you,” you uttered, voice threatening to break. “But it wasn’t enough for you.”
Coriolanus could’ve been angry, but he knew he’d win you back. He had all the time in the world, knowing you wouldn’t dare continue your relationship with Sejanus. How could you? You were already spoken for.
You were Coriolanus’s, you always had been. He realized it before you, but he knew you’d come to learn the truth. You’d accept it eventually, and everything would fall into place exactly as he wanted.

The first time Seungcheol saw you, you were nothing more than a passing presence in a world he ruled with an iron fist. He was used to people avoiding his gaze, lowering their heads in fear or respect. But you? You looked right at him.
It wasn’t a challenge, nor was it admiration. It was a simple glance—curious, unafraid.
And that was enough to make him pause.
You were working at a small café, one he only stepped into because Joshua insisted they needed a place to lay low for an hour. It was nothing special—at least, it shouldn't have been. But the moment you approached the table, notebook in hand, Seungcheol felt something shift.
“What can I get for you?”
Your voice was light, patient, not at all like the people who usually spoke to him with nervous energy or calculated charm. He was about to answer when Jeonghan spoke up first.
“An americano for me, please,” Jeonghan said smoothly, flashing you a practiced smile.
Seungcheol expected you to melt the way most people did under Jeonghan’s charm. Instead, you barely spared him a glance as you jotted down the order.
“And for you?” you asked, looking directly at Seungcheol.
For some reason, it took him a second too long to answer. He was used to commanding a room, controlling situations, but here you were—entirely unaffected, treating him like just another customer.
Joshua nudged him, amusement flickering in his eyes. Seungcheol cleared his throat. “Same. Americano.”
“Got it.”
That should’ve been the end of it. You should’ve walked away, and he should’ve returned to discussing business. But as you turned, someone at a nearby table bumped into you, causing the tray you were carrying to tilt. In a split second, Seungcheol’s hand shot out, steadying the tray before it could fall.
You blinked, surprised, before offering a small smile. “Good reflexes.”
He let go of the tray, fingers lingering for just a second too long. “Comes with the job.”
You didn’t ask what that job was. Maybe you already knew. Maybe you didn’t care. Either way, you simply gave a nod before walking off.
Seungcheol watched you go, an unfamiliar weight settling in his chest.
Jeonghan smirked. “That was interesting.”
“Shut up,” Seungcheol muttered, but even as they went back to their conversation, his mind kept wandering back to you.
Over the next few weeks, he found excuses—ridiculous, unnecessary excuses—to stop by the café.
"Boss, why are we here again?"
"Coffee's decent."
"Hyung, you don't even like coffee."
"Shut up, Mingyu."
Every time he walked in, you’d greet him with the same calm, easy presence. You never pried, never tiptoed around him like others did. Instead, you teased him about ordering the same drink every time, raised an eyebrow when he lingered too long after closing, and even smirked once when he threatened a guy outside the shop—completely unfazed by the power he held.
He couldn’t figure you out.
And that drove him crazy.
Until one night, when he walked in just as some drunk idiot was grabbing your wrist.
Seungcheol didn’t think—he acted.
In seconds, the guy was shoved against the counter, Seungcheol’s forearm pressing into his throat. “You have three seconds to apologize before you regret ever walking in here.”
The man stammered, clearly regretting all his life choices. “I-I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to—”
“Leave.”
The guy bolted.
Seungcheol turned back to you, expecting fear, maybe even shock. Instead, you sighed, shaking your head. “You’re really dramatic, you know that?”
He stared. “Excuse me?”
You crossed your arms. “I could’ve handled him.”
He scoffed. “Yeah? And what were you gonna do, throw a sugar packet at him?”
You smirked. “I was thinking hot coffee to the face, but your way works too.”
For the first time in a long time, Seungcheol laughed. A real, genuine laugh.
And that’s when it hit him.
He was already falling.
Falling for the person who never looked at him with fear.
Falling for the one who treated him like something more than a name whispered in hushed tones.
Falling for the only person who made him forget, even for a moment, that he was someone the world feared.
He was utterly, completely doomed.
And from that day on, Choi Seungcheol—the most powerful, ruthless gang leader in the city—was absolutely, irreversibly whipped.
Falling for you was easy. It was everything after that that terrified him.
Seungcheol was used to controlling—to knowing every move before it happened, to staying two steps ahead. But you? You threw every rule out the window. He didn’t know how to navigate this—this warmth, this lightness, this you.
He should’ve kept his distance. Should’ve told himself that a man like him didn’t get to have things like this.
But the moment he knew—really knew—that he was yours?
It was the night you patched him up.
It had been a messy deal. One of his men screwed up, someone pulled a knife, and though Seungcheol got the situation under control, he took a hit in the process. A deep gash along his side, bleeding more than he liked.
He should’ve gone to a safehouse. Should’ve called Wonwoo to handle it.
But somehow, his feet led him straight to you.
When you opened your door to find him standing there, blood staining his shirt, your eyes widened—but not in fear. Never in fear.
"Sit," you ordered, pulling him inside without hesitation.
He let you. Let you press him onto your couch, let you pull out a first-aid kit, let you mutter curses under your breath as you lifted his shirt to assess the damage.
“This is bad,” you murmured, hands surprisingly steady as you cleaned the wound. “You should be in a hospital.”
“No hospitals.”
You sighed, but didn’t argue. You never did—not about this. Instead, you worked quietly, patching him up with gentle but firm hands.
And then, as you finished securing the bandage, you looked up.
“Seungcheol,” you said softly. “You can’t keep doing this.”
His breath caught.
Not because of the pain. Not because of the wound.
But because of the way you said his name—like it mattered. Like he mattered.
He could handle knives, bullets, enemies plotting against him in the dark. But this? The way you looked at him, eyes filled with something dangerously close to care?
That was lethal.
“I’m fine,” he said, voice rough.
You frowned. “No, you’re not.”
He opened his mouth to argue, but then you did something he didn’t expect.
You reached out—slowly, carefully—and rested a hand against his cheek.
Seungcheol froze.
“You can’t just keep throwing yourself into danger like this,” you murmured. “You think I don’t notice when you show up like this? Or when you disappear for days and come back looking like hell?”
His throat felt tight. “This is the life I chose.”
Your jaw clenched. “And if something happens to you? If one day, you don’t walk through that door?”
He had no answer.
Because for the first time, he realized—he never thought about what his life meant to someone else.
But here you were. Worried. Angry. Scared for him.
Him. Choi Seungcheol. The man no one dared to care for because they knew it was dangerous.
Yet you did. You did.
And just like that, he was done for.
Utterly, completely yours.
Seungcheol wasn’t good with words.
He could command a room, negotiate million-dollar deals, and terrify a man into silence with just a look—but when it came to you? When it came to everything you made him feel?
Words felt useless.
So he showed you in the only ways he knew how.
By making sure you never walked home alone. By slipping extra cash into your pockets when he knew you were struggling. By waiting outside your café at night just to make sure you were safe.
And then, one night, he just… said it.
He hadn’t planned to. Hadn’t even thought about saying it yet. But you were standing in the kitchen, rambling about something that happened at work, and he was just watching you—watching the way your eyes lit up, the way your hands moved when you spoke, the way you existed in his space like you belonged there.
And before he could stop himself—before he could think about what it meant—he said it.
“I love you.”
You froze.
For a second, his heart stopped.
And then, slowly, you turned to look at him. “What did you just say?”
Shit.
He ran a hand through his hair, suddenly unsure if he should take it back, laugh it off—
But then you smiled.
Soft. Disbelieving. Radiant.
And just like that, the fear disappeared.
“You’re an idiot,” you whispered, stepping closer.
“Yeah,” he murmured. “I know.”
You reached for him, fingers curling into his shirt. “Say it again.”
He smirked, heart pounding. “I love you.”
And when you pulled him down into a kiss, he knew—he would never stop saying it.
From that moment on, Seungcheol stopped caring who knew.
His gang? They figured it out the second they saw the way he looked at you.
His enemies? They learned the hard way that you were the one line they could never cross.
And you?
You never once made him feel like he had to choose between the world he built and the world you gave him.
Because somehow, somehow, you became both.
And Seungcheol—ruthless, untouchable Seungcheol—was yours in every way that mattered.

Bet
sabo x gn!reader
you meet your childhood rival and crush again after thinking you've lost him forever.
words count: 1.2k
tags: spoilers about sabo(?), rivalry, childhood crush, romance, humour, angst, gender neutral
masterlist || ao3 || ko-fi
The wind rustles through the trees of Dawn Island, carrying the scent of salt and adventure. You stand at the edge of the forest, hands on your hips, glaring at Sabo. He glares right back, that infuriating smirk on his face.
“You’re gonna lose” he taunts, tossing an apple in the air and catching it effortlessly.
“Tch, in your dreams, rich boy” you snap, crouching into position. The goal is simple: first one to reach the river and back wins. But to you and Sabo, this is war.
Ace and Luffy sit on the sidelines, watching the two of you like a live-action play.
“Why do they always do this?” Luffy mumbles, stuffing his face with meat.
Ace snickers “Because they’re stupid kids. And because Sabo’s trying to impress y/n.”
Luffy tilts his head “I thought he hated them?”
Ace shakes his head “Nope. The other day he told me he’s gonna marry y/n one day.”
Luffy almost chokes “What?! But they’re always fighting! And where was I??”
Ace grins “You were sleeping like the baby you are. Anyway y/n has no idea, so it's a secret”
You, of course, don’t hear this conversation. All you hear is the count.
“Three… two… one—GO!”
You and Sabo take off, kicking up dirt. You’re fast, but he’s faster. He always is. It infuriates you. But you push yourself harder, determination burning in your chest. For a split second, you think you might actually win...
Then Sabo’s hand grips your wrist, yanking you back just enough for him to sprint ahead.
“YOU CHEATER!” you shriek.
“Work smarter, not harder!” he calls back, laughing.
He reaches the finish line first, arms raised in victory. You arrive seconds later, seething.
“You’re the worst” you growl.
Sabo winks “And yet, you keep challenging me.”
You huff, turning away. You’ll beat him next time.
Sabo is dead...
The words shatter something inside you. First, he went missing. Then he was gone. Just like that.
You sit on the shore, watching the waves crash against the rocks. You don’t cry, not in front of Ace and Luffy. But at night, when no one can hear, you let the tears fall.
He was supposed to be here. He was supposed to grow up with you, to keep annoying you, to keep winning. You were supposed to beat him at least once.
But now you never will.
So you make a decision. You can't lose another one of your friends, so you’ll fight for Luffy. You’ll help him reach his dream. And maybe, just maybe, that will be enough to at least try fill the hole in your heart.
The world shifts beneath your feet.
You stare, mouth slightly open, heart hammering against your ribs.
Sabo.
Alive.
He grins at Luffy, ruffling his hair, and your chest tightens. This isn’t real. It can’t be. But then his eyes find yours, and the grin falters.
“y/n…”
Your breath catches. He looks older, stronger, but those blue eyes are the same. And they’re looking at you like he’s seeing a ghost.
You don’t think. You act.
With a sharp inhale, you march up to him and punch him square in the face.
Luffy cackles. Koala gasps. Sabo stumbles, rubbing his jaw “Ow. Okay. I deserved that.”
“You’re damn right you did!” you snap, fists clenched “You let us believe you were dead, you absolute asshole!”
He has the audacity to chuckle “Well, technically, I didn’t know I was alive, either.”
You glare “That’s not funny.”
His expression softens “No. It’s not.” He hesitates, then steps closer. “I… I missed you, y/n.”
You swallow hard “Yeah, well. You have a shitty way of showing it.”
Luffy slings an arm around both of you “This is great! Now we can all hang out again!”
Your eyes narrow “I don’t think I want to hang out with him.”
Sabo smirks “Holding a grudge? Come on, I thought you’d grow up by now.”
You scoff “Oh, please. I can still kick your ass.”
“Oh?” He raises an eyebrow “Wanna bet?”
And just like that, it begins again.
It starts small.
An arm-wrestling match at the bar.
“You’ve got noodle arms, Sabo.”
He grins “And yet, I still win.”
A stupid dare.
“I dare you to flirt with the next person who walks in.”
You do. Sabo sulks the rest of the night.
And then the others get involved.
Koala, amused by the whole ordeal, makes a bet with Luffy “I say one of them confesses first.”
Luffy tilts his head “Confess what?”
Franky laughs “About their feelings”
Luffy’s eyes widen “Oh! Sabo’s gonna lose, then.”
Everyone stares.
“Wait” Nami leans in, hoping he knows something that can make her win that bet “why are you so sure?”
“Yeah,” Luffy shrugs “He’s been saying he’d marry y/n since we were kids.”
Silence.
Then, chaos.
You and Sabo, oblivious, continue your stupid challenges. But now, the crew is watching closely, waiting for one of you to slip.
And maybe, just maybe, one of you will.
Sabo leans against the railing of the Sunny, arms crossed, a smirk tugging at his lips “Admit it, y/n. You can’t win anything against me.”
You scoff, tightening your grip on the barrel of sake in front of you “You wish, rich boy” you glare at him, cheeks already warm from the last round “Next bet.”
The crew has gathered around, eagerly watching as you and Sabo go head-to-head once again. This time, it’s a drinking contest, and things are getting interesting.
Luffy, sitting cross-legged beside Franky, grins “Sabo’s totally gonna lose.”
Nami chuckles, taking a sip of her own drink “You think so?”
“He might win the challanges buy he always loses when it comes to y/n, I don't think that changed” Luffy says casually.
Robin smirks “You mean when it comes to his feelings?”
Luffy tilts his head. The crew groans.
Meanwhile, you slam your cup down, staring Sabo dead in the eye. “Still standing.”
He raises an eyebrow “Barely.”
You roll your eyes and gesture toward him “Your turn, hotshot.”
Sabo picks up his drink, but instead of drinking it right away, he grins “Let’s raise the stakes.”
You narrow your eyes “I’m listening.”
“If I win, you do whatever I say for a day.”
You scoff “Please. And if I win?”
His smirk falters for a split second before he recovers “Same deal. I’m yours for a day.”
The crew collectively gasps.
Zoro chokes on his drink. Sanji drops his cigarette. Nami leans forward in delight.
You blink, caught off guard. But then your competitive nature kicks in, and you smirk “Fine. You’re on.”
You both down your drinks at the same time, and for a while, the match is even. But then you see it, Sabo’s fingers tighten around the glass. His eyelids droop for a second too long.
He’s reaching his limit.
You grin triumphantly “You can't win this one, I've trained with Zoro for years... And looks like you’re about to pass out, rich boy.”
Zoro, now at your side smirks.
Sabo felt a feeling of jealousy but he tries his best to stay composed and chuckles, setting his cup down “Nah. Just taking my time.”
But Koala, standing off to the side, shakes her head “He’s done.”
Sabo groans “You’re supposed to be on my side.”
The crew erupts into cheers as you throw your arms in the air “Ha! Suck it, Sabo!”
Sabo sighs, rubbing his temples “Alright, alright. A bet’s a bet. What’s your request, oh mighty victor?”
You pretend to think, tapping your chin. Then, with a mischievous grin, you say, “You have to compliment me every time you speak to me tomorrow.”
The crew howls with laughter.
Sabo groans “You’re evil.”
“You love it” you tease.
His eyes flicker with something unreadable, and for a split second, you swear his smirk softens.
“Maybe” he murmurs, too quiet for you to catch.
The next morning, you wake up to the best sound in the world... Sabo suffering.
“Good morning, Sabo!” you chirp, stretching.
He groans from where he’s sitting, nursing a cup of coffee “Good morning, y/n… my shining spirit of the seas.”
Luffy bursts out laughing “You sound so weird.”
Sabo sighs “I hate this already.”
“Oh, come on,” you say, grinning “That’s not very enthusiastic.”
Sabo pinches the bridge of his nose “You’re breathtakingly annoying.”
Nami snickers “That counts.”
All day, Sabo follows through with his punishment.
“Wow, y/n, your swordsmanship is as graceful as a swan in flight.”
“You’re incredibly skilled at eating three plates of food in record time.”
“I have never met someone as stubbornly determined to make my life miserable as you, and it’s truly awe-inspiring.”
By the time the sun begins to set, he’s exhausted. You, on the other hand, are having the time of your life.
“Admit it” you tease, nudging his shoulder “You’re enjoying this.”
Sabo rolls his eyes, but his smirk is back “You’re impossible.”
“But?”
He hesitates.
But before he can respond, Sanji appears with drinks, and the moment passes.
The crew finally make the bet official: who will confess first?
Koala places her money on Sabo “He’s been head over heels since they were kids.”
Zoro shrugs “y/n’s just as bad.”
Luffy, grinning, throws in his input “But I told you that Sabo already kinda confessed years ago! When we were little, he told Ace who told me that one day, he’ll give y/n their favourite candy ring and make them his spouse!”
Meanwhile, you and Sabo continue your rivalry, completely unaware of how obvious your feelings have become.
But one of you is bound to crack first.
And when that happens?
Well.
The real fun begins.
The next few days on the Sunny are torture.
Things between you have shifted. It’s subtle, but it’s there, the way his gaze lingers on you a little too long, the way your heartbeat picks up whenever he’s near. And, of course, the infuriating way your crewmates won’t stop watching, waiting for one of you to slip.
Sabo, to his credit, acts like everything is normal. You? Not so much.
“Oi, y/n, you okay?” Zoro asks one afternoon, watching you repeatedly stab a piece of meat with your fork.
You blink “Huh? Yeah. Why?”
“You’re massacring your food,” he deadpans.
Sanji, setting down a fresh plate, grins “they’re just distracted. I wonder why~”
You shoot him a glare “Shut up.”
The cook winks “Don’t worry, my beauty, I support you.”
You groan, dropping your fork. Across the deck, Sabo is laughing at something Koala said, and you swear she catches your eye on purpose before smirking.
This is a nightmare.
“Alright, it’s time.”
Nami’s voice snaps you out of your thoughts. She and Robin sit around a small pile of gold, each with amused smirks.
“Time for what?” you ask warily.
Koala arrives and grins putting some gold as the others, “Final bets.”
Luffy perks up “Oh! We’re picking who confesses first!”
You freeze “Excuse me?”
Robin chuckles “Come now, y/n. Surely you’ve noticed.”
You open your mouth, ready to deny it, but then Zoro speaks.
“You like him.”
Sanji nods “And he likes you.”
Franky grins “It’s so obvious!”
You sputter “I—what?! No, he doesn’t!”
Nami raises an eyebrow “Luffy literally told us Sabo planned to marry you.”
Your face burns “Luffy told me after we thought Sabo died, but that was years ago! We were kids!”
Brook chuckles “Love has a funny way of surviving, even through death.”
The words hit you harder than you expect.
Even through death.
For a moment, you say nothing. The memory of seeing his boat burn, of grief so deep it drowned you, flashes through your mind. The nights spent staring at the sea, whispering his name into the void. The years spent forcing yourself to move forward, never allowing yourself to dwell on what could have been.
But now, he’s here. Alive. And the feelings you buried long ago are clawing their way back to the surface.
“…I need some air.”
Without another word, you turn and leave.
You don’t realize Sabo follows you until you hear his voice.
“Running away from a challenge? That’s not like you.”
You sigh, not turning around “Not now, Sabo.”
But he doesn’t leave. Instead, he steps closer, leaning against the railing beside you “Alright. Then let’s not talk about their bet.”
Silence stretches between you. The ocean glows under the moonlight, waves lapping softly against the Sunny’s hull.
Finally, you break the silence.
“I thought you were dead.”
Sabo stiffens. You don’t look at him, keeping your eyes on the horizon.
“For years,” you continue, voice steady but heavy, “I had to live with the idea that you were gone. That I would never see you again. And it hurt.”
He doesn’t say anything, so you keep going.
“Do you know what that kind of pain feels like?” you whisper “To lose someone without a body to bury? To stay up at night, wondering if maybe, just maybe, for some miracle, they survived, but knowing you're just to yourself about it?”
Sabo’s hands tighten into fists “…I do.”
That makes you finally look at him. His face is shadowed, but his expression is raw “I didn’t remember my past before the Revolutionaries,” he admits “Not until I saw what happened to Ace. And when the memories came back…” He swallows “I realised many things. I realised I couldn’t save Ace, that I couldn’t help you and Luffy… that I had left you behind.”
Your breath catches.
“I don’t have an excuse,” he says “But I know this... When I got my memories back I realised that I missed you like crazy, y/n. More than I can ever put into words.”
His voice shakes, and suddenly, the air between you feels different. He isn’t teasing, isn’t smirking... he’s serious.
You take a slow step forward “Then why didn’t you say anything? From the start, you acted like nothing happened.”
Sabo meets your gaze “Because I didn’t think I deserved to.”
Your heart clenches “That’s stupid.”
He laughs, but it’s soft, almost sad “Maybe.”
You exhale sharply “You should have told me.”
“I know.”
“I hated you”
“I don’t blame you.”
You take another step “But I also...” You hesitate, then shake your head “Dammit, Sabo.”
He smiles faintly “That’s my name.”
And suddenly, you’re done. Done with the games, the teasing, the bets.
You grab his collar and yank him down, pressing your lips against his.
Sabo freezes.
For a moment, everything is still. Then, his arms wrap around you, pulling you closer, and he’s kissing you back, desperate, relieved, alive.
When you finally break apart, you rest your forehead against his. “You’re mine now, rich boy” you murmur.
He grins “And you’re mine. I've dreamed about this since we were kids”
"Oh I know... I want that candy ring one day"
"OMG WHO TOLD YOU?!"
"Ace told Luffy and Luffy told me... but to his defense he just wanted to make me feel better"
A loud whoop makes you both jump.
You whip around to find the entire crew watching from the deck.
Luffy, grinning like an idiot, throws his fists in the air “I WIN THE BET?”
Sabo groans “Of course they were watching.”
You bury your face in your hands “I hate all of you.”
Koala winks “No, you don’t.”
Luffy bounces excitedly “Hey! Does this mean Sabo’s finally gonna marry you?”
“LUFFY YOU TOLD THEM! YOU CAN'T KEEP A SECRET”
The crew erupts into laughter, and as embarrassing as it is, you can’t help but smile.
Because for the first time in years, your heart doesn’t ache.
Sabo is here.
And this time, he’s not leaving.

A/N: I can write the other way if you like as well just lmk. Sky was the first team that popped into my head so here we go. also this is my first time writing in a bit so let me cook. sky was the first team that popped into my head so here we go.
(Wings vs Sky)
It started, like most things with Paige did, with a grin.
She hit Chenedy Carter with a quick crossover, pulled up from midrange, and drilled the shot like it was nothing.
Didn't even celebrate — just jogged backward past the Sky bench, flashing a crooked little smirk.
"You’re gonna have to try harder than that," Paige said over her shoulder, light, easy, like it was a private joke.
Azzi, hovering near the top of the key, caught the edge of it and rolled her eyes.
Classic.
And maybe kind of hot.
Chennedy didn’t take it lightly.
Next dead ball, she brushed past Paige harder than necessary , a little elbow to the ribs.
No whistle. No foul.
Just a message.
Paige stumbled but caught herself. Turned with that same cocky look and clapped her hands once.
"That it?" she tossed out, loud enough for half the gym to hear.
Chennedy barked back immediately.
"Keep talking. It’s all you’re good at."
Azzi didn't move.
Not yet.
Trash talk was part of it.
And Paige loved it — ate it up like it was air.
Paige laughed,
"You’re gonna need more than cheap shots if you wanna slow me down, maybe some defense?"
The ref waved a warning, half-distracted.
Azzi moved in then — not panicked, just steady — nudging herself between them, palm resting lightly on Chennedy’s arm.
"Just let it go," she said, voice even.
She was willing to let it go.
Until Chennedy leaned in closer and muttered
"Didn’t think the Wings needed to sign influencers too."
It wasn’t loud.
Wasn’t for the crowd.
It was for them.
And it hit different.
Azzi’s jaw tightened.
Her hand dropped.
She didn’t raise her voice. Didn’t cause a scene.
She just looked Chennedy dead in the eye and said, low:
"Watch your mouth."
Short. Quiet. Final.
Chennedy held her stare for a second, but it was over.
She turned away first.
Azzi didn’t linger.
Just brushed her hand lightly against Paige’s back as she walked past — a small, unspoken you good?
Paige didn’t say anything.
Didn’t have to.
The look she gave Azzi — that tiny, grateful flash — said it all.
————
Paige caught up to her just before she got onto the bus
still half in uniform, towel slung around her neck, that bruise already blooming under her ribs.
She bumped Azzi’s hip with hers, lighter than usual.
"Didn’t know you were out here defending my honor," Paige said, aiming for teasing — but the words stuck a little in her throat with insecurity
Azzi set a hand on her stomach brushing over the bruise
"You were running your mouth," she said. "Someone had to keep you alive."
Paige grinned,
"You always do," she said, so quiet Azzi almost missed it.
Before she could answer, Paige leaned in —
quick, almost shy about it — and brushed a kiss across Azzi’s mouth.
It was barely there.
Not cocky. Not playful.
Like she was pulling back before she could get caught needing it too much.
“Thank you” she whispered before she started to turn, ready to leave it at that
but Azzi caught her wrist.
Pulled her back in, this time kissing her fully -
steady, sure, anchoring her.
Paige leaned into it without thinking, letting herself be held for one breath, two.
When they broke apart, Paige ducked her head, cheeks flushed.
"You’re obsessed with me," she mumbled, trying — and failing — to sound smug.
Azzi rolled her eyes, smirking.
"Yeah," she said dryly. "Tragically."
Paige laughed, shoved her towel weakly against Azzi’s stomach, and spun on her heel, jogging away down the tunnel with a little slip
Azzi watched her go with a smile before calling out , voice warm, no hesitation:
"I love you!"
Paige didn’t even slow down —
just flung a hand up over her shoulder and yelled back:
"I love you more!"
Azzi smiled to herself
and pulled her hoodie lower over her face like it could hide the way her whole heart felt bigger somehow.
Some battles weren’t about the game.
Some things were just worth protecting —
no questions asked.

a/n: and here's part four! barely proofread. sorry for mistakes!
— — — — —
Every time you see him, your heart flutters stupidly in your chest, and you feel as if you’re glowing from within. Without even knowing, your mouth curves upward until you’re grinning excitedly. Toji Fushiguro is also smiling, his dark eyes as soft as ever.
“Hi, Toji.”
“Hey, doll.”
“Helloooooo?!” Shiu practically screams from over the phone, and Toji rolls his eyes as he asks, “did you find the damn toy?!”
“Even better,” Toji says. “I’ll call you back.”
Once he hangs up the phone, Toji steps closer to you, pointing towards the toy you’re clutching tightly in your hands. “Were you… Were you planning to buy that for Megs?”
“Yeah.” You nod, suddenly timid. “Um, was that a problem? I hope I’m not crossing any lines or anything like that. It’s just- he looked so scared for his appointment, and once I saw that this dropped in, I knew it would be—”
“I’m not upset. No, it’s just…” Toji trails off, and you raise a brow at the shocked expression on his face. “That toy is expensive.”
“It’s for Gumi,” you say, smiling fondly when you think about the shy, spiky-haired boy in your class who loves dogs, coloring pictures of flowers and telling you stories about his family. “He’s worth it.”
When Toji smiles again, it’s warm, full of gratitude, and so lovely that you feel your heart stutter in your chest again. “Thank you, that’s so sweet. He’ll love it,” he says, and then places his hand on your shoulder. “However, I can’t let you buy that. It’s too much money.”
“No, please. Let me. I can cover it.”
“Let me cover it,” he says. “You can still be the one to gift it to him, but please just let me buy it. I know from Shiu that teachers usually have to buy so much on their own.”
It was true. Crayons, markers, pencils, class decorations, picture books and anything else to make your students happy usually fell on your shoulders. Then, there was rent, groceries, and other expensive bills that kept you up at night sometimes. However, your stress temporarily fades away when you spend time with the children at the pre-school you work at, especially Megumi Fushiguro. Even better during those afternoons when you talk with Toji.
“Alright, fine,” you say, and you hold up a single finger. “One condition: You at least let me buy Tsumiki’s doll.”
He raises a brow. “Which doll?”
Since you both are in the aisle that stores toys for young girls, you’re able to point to the one you had your eye on. The smiling doll was a soccer player, her dark hair styled in a high ponytail—the same way Tsumiki usually styles her hair. The doll wore a jersey, cleats, and shin guards, and the set also came with a miniature soccer ball, water bottle and sports headband for the doll. “I was going to give this one to her after her soccer match.”
You look back at Toji to see him staring at you in disbelief, and before you can ask him why, he tells you, “I seriously can’t believe that we both ended up at the same store getting ready to buy the same two toys.”
“Wow, really?”
“Yeah,” he chuckles as he grabs the doll for Tsumiki off of the shelf, then starts walking with you towards the front of the store to check out. “I had it in mind at Megumi’s appointment.”
“How was that, by the way?” You ask.
Toji pulls out his phone and scrolls for a few seconds before showing you a picture. Megumi and Tsumiki were standing outside of the doctor’s office with matching stickers on their t-shirts, happily enjoying their candy. “He did great. His sister held his hand to keep him calm throughout the checkout, and it worked. Proud of her for keeping it together, too. She only had to call one person a ‘stupid head’ today because he told him that boys shouldn’t cry.”
You snicker, “Oh, my gosh, ‘stupid head’?? Cute picture, also. They’re so precious.”
“Mhm,” He looks down, shaking his head with a bashful smile. “She actually means dumbass.”
“Oh, does she, now? I assume there’s a story behind that?”
He hums, taking a few seconds to think before beginning to explain. “Couple years ago. She was five. Megumi was just about to turn two. I was driving them to the store, and this guy cut me off. I shouted, ‘watch where you’re going, dumbass’ and she repeated after me.” When you make eye contact with each other, you both laugh. “Shiu nearly pissed himself,” he says, “I was laughing so hard that I had to pull over. Finally, we explained to her that dumbass is a bad word, and that she had to say something different. So, she settled on ‘stupid head.” It’s so simple, but it nearly kills Shiu and I because we know what she actually wants to say.”
“That’s incredible,” you say, standing with him in the checkout line. “And I’m happy she called that guy out at the appointment today. She’s so protective of her little brother. I love it.”
You’re about to put the plushie onto the conveyor belt, but Toji gently grabs it from you, placing both it and the doll on there. You look at him. “Toji, I—”
“I meant it earlier when I said that I can’t let you buy this because of how pricey it is. Since you got here first and spent so much time looking for the dog plushie, you’re still going to be the one to give both of these to them,” he says softly. “But just knowing that you were willing to spend this much money for Megs and Tsumiki when you one hundred percent didn’t have to mean so damn much to me. Thank you. Not just for being an amazing teacher, but also for being a wonderful human being.”
Oh, he’s so sweet.
There’s so much you want to say, but you know that you can’t say too much—at least, not yet. So you go for the first and most important. “You’re an incredible father. They love you so much.”
He smiles and nods his thanks, then pays for the two items before handing you the bag. As you two leave the store, he offers to walk you to your car, and you accept. “You’re right,” you mutter to him. “Teachers don’t make a lot, but we always make do with what we have. One day, I’ll have the classroom of my dreams.” You declare, suddenly determined. “It’s what the kids deserve. Also, I want you to know that even if I was struggling a little bit after buying those toys, I would’ve never regretted buying them for Megumi and Tsumiki. They’re such good kids.”
“I know,” Toji says. “Not once did I think that you’d regret it. You’ve only ever been sweet to them.” When he sees that it’s beginning to get dark, he gently taps your car. “You should get home and get some rest. I can tell that you’ve been trying to hunt that dog plushie down for a while. Also,” he stops and exhales, and you wonder what he’s thinking. A light shade of pink dusts his cheeks, and it reminds you of him in Megumi’s drawing.
“I want to see you more,” he finally tells you. “Outside of work, I mean. I was thinking that maybe we can grab dinner some time?”
“Yes.” It’s impossible to hide your smile. How could you? “I’d love to.”
He carefully grasps your hand, then brings it to his mouth, placing a light kiss on the back of it. It’s a sweet gesture, but you feel like you’re about to catch fire and then melt into the ground. “I’ll see you tomorrow,” he purrs. “And I’ll text you plans about the date.”
Date. Date.
“Okay,” you manage to reply when you find your voice. “I’ll see you tomorrow. Sleep well!” You get into your car, wave him off once more, then drive off, unable to control your excitement.
—
As Toji watches your car leave the store’s parking lot, he’s already calling Shiu, a new idea beginning to take shape in his mind.
“Are you done flirting?” Shiu answers with a huff. “The kids were wondering where you went.”
“Sorry about that. I’m on my way now. Quick question though: That job that took me less than an hour to complete. What was the payout for that one again?”
“Eight thousand, why?”
Perfect. “Put half of it aside.”
— — — — —
“What’s this?” Megumi asks when you place the wrapped gift box in front of him, looking up at you and Toji with large, curious eyes.
The three of you are in your classroom a little earlier than usual, since you wanted to give Megumi his present before the other students arrived. Toji didn’t mind since he also wanted to see his reaction.
“A present that Ms. [Y/L/N] got you,” Toji answers as he pats his head. “Go ahead and open it.”
Like with everything else, Megumi takes his time opening the gift; delicately undoing the knot in the bow and wrapping the gift paper starting from the edges. When he sees the new plushie, the kid gasps, then screams in joy.
“No way!” He holds up his usual black dog plushie next to the new white one, tears of happiness rising to his eyes. “Now they’re together!” He gently puts the toy down, then runs into your arms, squeezing you as tight as he can. “Thank you, thank you, thank you!!”
“Aw, of course, sweetheart!” You laugh as you hug him in return. “I’m so proud of you for getting through your appointment. You did such a good job.”
As you praise him, Toji notes that Megumi still hasn’t released you yet. It was the longest he’s ever seen him hug anyone that wasn’t him or Tsumiki. His previous preschool teacher told him in the past that Megumi was too closed off, and that his refusal to talk to anyone would cause so many issues in the future. At first, Toji was worried, but now that he has seen how he is with you, even after such a short amount of time, he just knew that it was because Megumi didn’t trust his other teacher.
But he really, really trusted you. Loved you, even.
