matched with this cute woman on a dating app and we decided to meet in person like two days later (she was very surprised because she's used to exchanging messages for weeks prior to meeting personally) because she is going on holidays for three weeks and we (especially i) wanted to see each other before that
i regret it so so much that i didn't kiss her on our first date because now i will be thinking of her pretty lips and what they must feel like for the following three weeks until i see her again (she wants to see me right the day after she comes back from holidays so yey she's as excited as i am 🥰)

Tumblr media
Jen sits on the deck outside the beach house when I come down the wooden steps, and she eyes my shopping bag.
“Got everything?”
“Yep.”
“Enough snacks for me too?”
“Uh huh.”
“Well, are you ready to go? Shane and Joe are waiting-”
Tumblr media
“Yeah just a sec,” I nip up the stairs and push through the front door, and my dad is where he’s been all day, looking at his laptop at the kitchen table. He barely glances up.
“Where have you been?”
“Around.”
Tumblr media
His keyboard is the only sound aside from Ivy, murmuring to her dolls in the living room below. I throw the plastic bag onto the counter and start stacking a few things into the fridge. “I noticed Ivy was out of yoghurts,” I say, “I picked up more for her to have tomorrow.”
Dad says nothing.
Tumblr media
“And I borrowed your credit card, I assume that’s okay.”
“Hm?”
“Your credit card. I took it.”
“Mm. Hope you didn’t drop it somewhere and lose it.”
“No,” I slide it out of my wallet and place it on the table, “There it is, safe and sound.”
I go back to the fridge and hide a chocolate bar behind a jar of mayonnaise for Ivy, then grab one of dad’s beers and slip it into my old schoolbag. He doesn’t seem to notice so I swipe another.
Tumblr media
He leans back in the chair and stretches his arms with a grunt. “Did you get food for dinner tonight?”
“I'm not making dinner, I've plans.”
“Plans?”
“Yeah I’m going camping in the forest. I told you this morning,” I point lamely at the sleeping bag I left by the door.
“I’m not sure that you did.”
“I did, definitely.”
Tumblr media
“Well I think I’m gonna need you to stick around, things are just too busy around here today.”
“Where’s mom?”
“Uh, the hotel I think. She said she was getting some sorta massage.”
“Maybe after her massage she can cook, because as I’ve said, I’m busy tonight.”
“She might be a while.”
Tumblr media
I stiffen. “Well then get a takeaway.”
He peers at me over the rim of his reading glasses and sighs this long, world weary sigh that makes me feel like rolling my eyes. “It’d just be convenient if you stayed.”
“Yeah I know, but I’m not available.”
Tumblr media
“I don’t think it’s too much to ask that you help out a little at home, I know that you think you can just do whatever you want because you’re on vacation but it’s just not gonna like that for-”
“Yeah I get it, but I’m not going to be here tonight. One night. I don’t know what you want me to say.”
“I thought you might have grown out of this teenage stuff by now, Jude, this whole moodswing thing, you know, when I was sixteen I was already-”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Working in an ice cream parlour and bringing in your own money, I know,” I grit my teeth, “and I’m sorry about not doing the same, but-”
“- and you know, you really were born with a silver spoon in your mouth, if my parents knew that I’d raised-”
I snatch up my bags and leave the door swinging behind me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As Jen watches me as I storm down the stairs the corner of her mouth twitches up. “You’re a bit red around the ears,” she points out, “Did you get into it again with Christopher?”
I hop down from the deck and haul my bike from the sand. “Let’s just go.”
Tumblr media
After meeting Shane and Joe in the village we swing by the Boat Club to pick up Clóda.
“Oh you’re cycling,” She says as she shakes her hair free of her high bun, “I didn’t bring a bike.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I glance at her empty hands. “Or a sleeping bag? Or food?”
A shrug, “No.”
“You can share with me then,” I say, and I’d usually have done a much better job at being smooth, but instead my words come out sharp and impatient, and then I feel guilty when I catch sight of her wavering smile as she clambers onto the handlebars of my bicycle.
Tumblr media
“Hope you had a nice day so far,” She says, and as I pull away from the curb with a wobble I try to relax my body with some deep breaths. “Yeah it was fine. Tell me about yours.”
And she does, and we five cycle until the village tapers away to become scarce houses dotted along the coast, on and on until the mouth of the woods. I listen to her talk, not really what she is saying so much as the sound of her voice, and I realise that if I concentrate on things like this, like the steady lock of her hands over mine and the silk of her hair blowing back against my face then I don’t have a lot of space left to think about how awful and selfish I am today.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
By the time we reach the forest and tether our bikes to a fence I’m feeling almost back to myself again, so much so that I can even join in the conversation Shane, Jen and Joe are having about Dexter, and as always when it comes to TV, Jen and I start arguing about something or other, some part of the story that I picked up wrong, some character that I love but I am supposed to hate, and this is my favourite way to be with her, giving off, winding each other up so much and acting pissed off until someone thinks we’re being serious and tries to mediate. It’s the best way I can think of to whittle the time away on this trek from the onset of the woods to the dark depths of it, where the stony path turns to a dirt trail and briars snag at our ankles, where we duck under and scramble over low hanging branches and pick twigs out of one another's hair.
Tumblr media
Clóda, who has been silent for a long time, slips her hand into mine and pulls me back from the group. “There was a sign that said ‘No Camping’ back there,” she murmurs.
“Yeah I know, we got caught before, a couple of years ago, but that’s why we’re going so deep in. Don’t worry, the guards never come this far.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Right,” she glances overhead where the dense firs have blocked out most of the evening sun and cast enormous shadows down upon us. I can listen now that the others have gone on ahead and their voices are dulled from the sounds of the trees brushing together in the wind, the squelch of the damp earth underfoot and the roar of the waves over the sand dunes somewhere to the east. A hare springs from a nearby cluster of ferns and flees from us, and Clóda screams and clings to my sleeve.
Tumblr media
“You okay? A bit scared?”
“Yeah, kind of.”
“Of the woods?”
“I don’t know. I suppose we’re just a bit far from the path.”
“It’s okay, nothing is going to happen, there won’t be anybody but us. And the ghosts.”
She bats my arm, “God, stop.”
“You believe in them?”
“No.”
“I do.”
Tumblr media
She shivers and says softly, “Okay well I don’t want to think about that.”
I peck the crown of her head, “Don’t worry, Just joking. I’ll mind you.”

Buck and Jee against the world
Tumblr media
Summary: After a freak accident Buck is given custody of 13-year-old Jee-Yun
TW:MAJOR CHARACTER DEATH
~
They were gone
Maddie and Chimney were returning from what was supposed to be a weekend-long couples getaway when a pile-up took them both away.
Which left Buck taking care of a grieving Jee while dealing with his own grief. He knew Maddie made him Jee's legal guardian but he never expected he would ever need to.
So far it's been a week and Jee has mostly been quiet mainly staying on the second level of Buck's loft while Buck stays on the couch until he finds something more permanent for two people.
He is quietly making dinner until Jee wanders downstairs.
"Hey Buck what's for dinner"
"Spaghetti"
"Yum," Buck sees Jee smile for the first time all week as they sit down for the meal.
"So kid I know you've had a crappy week but how would you feel about going back to sch-"
"No thanks"
"You don't have to go tomorrow but you can't stay home forever"
"I don't want to talk about it Buck"
"Ok we can talk later"
They stay mostly quiet for the rest of dinner and Jee tries to return to her room Buck stops her.
"Before you go upstairs would you like to watch a movie a movie or maybe go out for some ice cream"
She just keeps walking upstairs and goes to bed giving Buck his first piece of teenage attitude
She stays at home for 3 more days and as much as Buck what's to be understanding he can still imagine Maddie's old lecture she used to tell him about the importance of school. But Jee immediately shuts him down at the first mention of school.
He realises he needs some backup the most equipped childcarer he knows. He calls Eddie.
"Hey Buck how you holding up"
"I'm okay, I need child advice"
"Ok how can I help"
"After Shannon died how did you get Christopher to go back to school"
"Well he chose to"
"I don't think that will happen with Jee"
"Maybe just try talking to her you can't let her stay home forever but let her express her feelings"
"But what if she gets mad at me"
"She probably will teenagers are mean but it's what is best for her you have to switch from Uncle Buck to parental Buck"
"Aww man"
"You'll figure it out Buck just breath"
"Thanks, Eddie"
He waits 20 minutes to collect his thoughts then walk up to Jee's room and sees her listening to music.
"Hey Jee"
"Hi Buck"
"So about the whole-"
"I'm not going to school"
"Yeah that thing I know school isn't the greatest trust me I wasn't a school person but you can't just quit"
"Buck you can't make me go to school just go away"
"Jee please don't yell why don't you want to go to school"
"Because it's stupid why don't you homeschool me"
"Because it's not the same now why don't you want to go to school"
"I don't want to talk about it go away"
"Jee the school called if you don't go back soon you might be held back you can't stay inside for the rest of your life"
"Just go away Buck"
Jee pulls the cover over her head to avoid Bucks's eyes.
"Ok but you have been inside for too long how about today you pick something outside we can go to and I won't mention school for the rest of the day"
"No"
"Jee please"
"Fine we can go for a walk for 10 minutes"
"20"
"15"
"Not a negotiation you have 5 more minutes of bed then we are venturing out to the world"
Buck goes downstairs while Jee slowly emerges from her bed and they begin to walk outside.
"Buck can we get ice cream"
"Sure"
They find an ice cream parlour and eat by a nearby park.
"Hey Buck"
"Hey Jee"
"Do you miss Maddie" There is the question Buck knew was coming and still felt unprepared.
"All the time your mum and dad were my best friends"
"I'm sorry I yelled earlier"
"It's ok Jee"
"Thanks for making me go outside"
"No problem think we should start heading back"
"Ok" She looks up at Buck with a smile as they head back to the apartment.
"Hey Buck, does it ever get easier" Buck gets throws back at Jee's casual tone of her very heavy question
"You know I asked Eddie a similar question one time, you're going different ways sometimes all at the same time the best way to process is to allow yourself to feel it and every day you open your eyes in the morning you feel a little less surprised the world is still there"
Buck sees Jee's face light up like a little kid's before she begins to hug him.
"I think I want to go back to school"
"Ok you can start again Monday"
She nods.
"Hey I know it's tough but we've got this we are going to be ok"
"I know, thanks buck"
"How about you and I go browse Zillow"
"Yay"
First the first time all week Buck feels like he can take a breath, he knows the trouble is far from over but at least know he can take a breath
~
Hey first post but thinking of making this into a series with longer chapters let me know what you think.

Timothy about the strangest casting he has ever experienced⸻upcoming horror series “You Seem Nice” dir. Luca Guadagnino
𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘸!
“I had been in LA when Luca called me and asked if I wanted to come to the casting for a film. And I was like 'Yeah, count me in!' And then the conversation was over. He had just hung up. At first I thought we were out of network, so I had tried a few more times, but he didn't pick up. So I thought to myself, 'Okay.'
A few days later, a message came in from Luca with the address in New York City where the casting was to take place. At first I was quite confused because it was supposed to take place right in Central Park. But I didn't think much of it and just went.
Then when I got there, I couldn't find anyone who even looked like they were running a casting. Luca was also nowhere to be seen. So I stood there and a few minutes later I got a message from Luca: 'That's her. The girl in the red top.' I saw her immediately. She was sitting at one of the tables, drinking her tea. Great!, I thought to myself, and went over to talk to her, like maybe she was part of the crew, she had to be. But then she turned me down and said I must be mistaken.
That had really confused me. Like, what's going on here? So I left her alone, a bit frustrated because I really wanted to take part in this casting. I got nervous, you know? But Luca had fixated me on this woman and she was the only one in a red top, so she had to be the one. She then got up and left, and then another message came from Luca, saying: 'That's her'. That was all he had written again.
And then I wanted it. Then I was hooked. There was obviously something in the room that everyone understood but me, and then I wanted to understand it. So I followed her. If she had answers, then I wanted them. But because she had rejected me before, I wanted to tread carefully and followed her unobtrusively. And we had walked for … I don't know, three hours through New York City. I watched her go in and out of shops, followed her to the public library, watched her and her friend in an ice cream parlour.
At some point I got out my notebook and pen and started writing things down. Things about her. I really only had my writing things with me to note down important information from the casting, to formulate initial ideas, etc.”
Interviewer: What did you write down?
“All kinds of things. Every detail of her visual appearance. And then I had speculated in writing how tall she was compared to me, had drawn two bodies and painted her at about the height I imagined her to be. And … I don't know why, but then I had also written course verses about and for her and What If's. It was really strange! I was really weird!”
Interviewer: But in the end you got the role?
“Yes, I guess … I did a lot of things right that day. At the end Luca had told me that he had been there from the beginning. He had been watching us. He had stalked me while I had stalked her. And when he finally told me at the end what the script is about, a light had dawned on me.”
Interviewer: What is the script about?
“It's the story of a girl and her stalker and a lot of … strange feelings. Only now, in retrospect, do I realise what Luca had done and what a brilliant director and man he is. By having me so fixated on her with his messages and by making me so frustrated and confused, I had really believed it was her in the end. 'That's her.' - That thought had cemented itself in my mind. Like, that's her, she has the answers, she has everything I need, I have to keep an eye on her! Luca used the craziest psychology.
But that's Luca. He wants feeling actors, not acting actors. He wants to trigger feelings in people with his films and he knows exactly how to do it. And to do that, he simply spares no means and I find that very impressive.”

Ficlet: Scream Queens
Story: Scream Queens Word count: 1,542 Relationship(s): Becky/Seth, Jon/Renee Prompt: sleeping in a pillowfort Also available at: AO3 and Wattpad and dreamwidth Summary: Jon isn't above bribery to coax his daughter and niece out of a pillowfort.
"God, just looking at them makes my back hurt." Renee put both hands on the small of her back and shook her head as she peeked in on her daughter and Becky's, cuddled together deep inside their pillowfort. "I can't remember ever being able to bend that way."
Becky crouched down to get a look. Nora had one foot hooked up on the couch cushion and was mostly sprawled on her stomach. Each time she breathed out, it ruffled Roux's curls. Roux's face was mashed up against Nora's shoulder, her legs scrunched up at an odd angle. "My hips are burning just looking at them," Becky agreed. Sitting back on her heels, she added, "Should we take them out and put them to bed before they sprain something?"
"I know you're almost out of the terrible twos," Renee reminded her, "but I'm not. When my girl wants her sleep, she wants her sleep." She tried to reach in, but the girls were too far back to grab without tearing down the front half of their beloved pillowfort. "Serves me right for getting all those accent pillows. Now she has too much ammunition."
"Told ya." Jon strolled into the living room, popping half of a doughnut into his mouth. "At least I stopped you from buying in to the whole Lip, Lap, Lop trend."
"Love, babe," Renee said with a chuckle. "It's Live, Laugh, Love."
"Oh. That makes more sense. Also explains why I could never find any of that shit for you on Etsy." Jon backed up and tried to peer inside the pillowfort. "So what are we looking at, aside from a building that is clearly not up to code?" He got down on his knees and scooted closer. "Ah, shit. I remember when I could pretzel up like that. Fun times."
Seth arrived last and raised his eyebrows at the sight of Jon on his hands and knees. "Someone lose a contact lens or something?" he asked.
Renee shook her head. "The girls are sleeping in there, but they're all contorted. If we leave them, they'll be sore and cranky."
"And if we wake them," Becky added, "they'll be sore and cranky and loud about it."
"Ah. Gotcha." Seth walked around the side of the pillowfort. "Can we try anything from a different angle? Try reaching around from the back and... rearranging limbs?"
Jon shook his head. "I got another idea." He sat near the opening of the pillowfort and cleared his throat. "Too bad the girls are sleeping," he said, raising his voice a bit. None of them had been talking particularly quietly, but there was a deliberateness to his volume that the other three all recognized because they had used it themselves. "Otherwise we could have gone for ice cream."
"Ah, bribery," Renee remarked. "Works every time."
Sure enough, some of the pillows in the pillowfort started to move and there was the distinctive thump of limbs hitting the floor. Roux emerged first, her curls a wild corona around her ears. "Ice cream?"
Nora pushed her way out next, rubbing at her eyes. "Where the scream?"
Jon feigned surprise, eyes going wide as he pulled both girls into his lap. "That's where you were? I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you. Go back to sleep. We still got a couple hours until supper is ready."
Roux shoved at his chest, but she was too groggy for it to be much more than a half-hearted pat. "You said ice cream."
"Yeah, Daddy." Nora's eyes were scrunched up when she frowned up at her father, and Becky tried not to laugh, because she had never seen Nora look more like Jon.
"Did I?" Jon looked to Renee first, then Becky and Seth. "Guess I did. But the ice cream parlour's a couple blocks away," he pointed out, "and you two are probably too tired to walk...."
"Daddy's shoulders aren't tired," Renee said quietly, earning her a quick look from Jon that made her laugh. "Well, if everyone's too tired to walk, I guess we could open the ice cream we have here."
Nora brightened up a bit. "Scream here!"
"Well, if Mom says we can have ice cream, then we can have ice cream." Jon held each girl close to his chest and heaved himself to his feet. "Let's go scoop, ladies. And then maybe we can rebuild that pillowfort so we can all fit inside and eat our ice cream."
"No." Nora shook her head sharply. "Me and Roux. No daddies."
"No daddies?" Seth came up to Jon's side and took Roux from him as they went into the kitchen. "But where do the daddies hang out then?"
"In the garage," Roux replied. To Becky's amusement and Seth's confusion, she said <i>garage</i> more like Becky did than the American way.
"What about the mommies?" Renee piped up. "Can we hang out in the pillowfort with you?"
Nora's vehemence was unwavering. "No. No mommies."
"Mommies in the tub," Roux answered. "Splash splash."
Jon raised an eyebrow. "Damn. I think I want to go to the mommies' party. I mean, don't get me wrong, I've had some fun in garages, but...."
"Wait. Does the pillowfort have a garage?" Seth asked, getting out of the doorway so Renee and Becky could join them in the kitchen.
Renee shut her eyes. "I really hope it doesn't have a tub. That's a whole level of mess I don't even want to think about." She took a few containers of ice cream out of the freezer and set them on the counter. "I know how much you love your Salt & Straw flavours, so I got a few: sea salt caramel, mint chocolate chip—"
"Yes, please." Becky blew Seth a kiss as she went to a cabinet and pulled down six bowls. "Are these okay or do you have... ice cream bowls?"
Jon scoffed. "This is the woman who thinks there's no difference between wet and dry measurements, remember. She might have some fancy-ass ice cream bowls somewhere, but they'd be... in the attic or something. Those are fine." He tugged open a drawer and lifted out a handful of spoons. "We should have a scoop somewhere."
"Hanging up on the rack," Renee called back, pulling more containers out of the freezer. "Cinnamon snickerdoodle, peanut butter brittle caramel fudge—the name alone is a mouthful—and pear blue cheese...." By the time she was done listing off flavours, there were eight containers on the counter.
"I hope you didn't get all of these just because we were coming to visit," Becky said. "We don't need a whole shop to choose from."
Renee passed Becky the mint chocolate chip. "That's just for you. Nora, Roux, what flavour would you like to have?"
The girls insisted on sampling a bit of each, making faces when they tried the pear and blue cheese. They chose the peanut butter brittle caramel fudge and Renee gave them each a small scoop. "It's almost food time," Jon said when Nora started to complain. "And you know what's after food time?"
Roux raised her hand as if it were a serious question. "Dessert!"
"Exactly." Once the girls had their bowls, Jon took them back out to the living room and he and Seth rearranged the pillowfort so the girls had more room—and they were less likely to twist themselves into human pretzels. Becky and Renee brought out all the ice cream for the adults, though since Becky had dibs on the mint chocolate chip, she was just eating it straight out of the container. "Babe, I hope you've got money saved up to pay for their divorce fees," Jon said, leaning back against the couch so he could keep an eye on the pillowfort.
Seth just rolled his eyes. "I'm used to it now. She used to use it as a threat, so I've tried to ignore it."
Becky beamed. "He even got me mint chocolate for Valentine's this year. Sweet boy." She cuddled up to Seth's side but was careful to keep her ice cream as far away from him as possible.
"Yeah, yeah." Seth kissed the top of her head. "Small price to pay, I guess."
A sudden clatter made all the adults snap to attention, but then they saw two sets of little hands push their bowls and spoons out through the pillowfort's opening. "Thank you for ice cream, Auntie Nee!" Roux said. "Thank you, Uncle Jon!"
"You're welcome, kiddo." Jon leaned over and ruffled her curls. "Going back to sleep?"
Nora peered up at him around the corner. "Yeah."
To their surprise, the girls shuffled back into the pillowfort and curled up together again, though less contorted this time, and though they babbled to each other for a few minutes, it didn't take them long to fall back to sleep. "Damn," Seth said, clearly in awe. "Road life must have got them used to sleeping pretty much anywhere."
"As long as they don't sleep on their desks at school," Renee replied, "we're golden."
"Until high school, anyway." There was a bit of ice cream left in one of the girls' bowls and Jon dipped his spoon in. "Then everyone deserves a good math class nap."

Sfw, maybe some violence, lotsa cuteness!
Universe- ROTTMNT
backstory- Venus de Milo is the baby sister of the family, and for the first time her big brothers and Sensei are taking her to the hidden city- until her powers act up and she goes missing!
Venus VS. The Hidden City
“Who’s a cute baby! Who’s the cutest baby! Who’s my cutest baby sister!” Mikey cooed, getting his baby sister Venus dressed in a clean diaper and a little teal blue tutu for the day.
Venus the little Indian Tent turtle was a year old today, and to celebrate her birthday, Splinter had decided they should take her on a special trip to the hidden city. It would be her very first time leaving the lair.
Venus giggled cutely, then suddenly sneezed, a spike shooting out of her shell directly into Donnie’s lab. Luckily, it missed his head… sort of. The spike bounced off the titanium bust and speared Donnie’s desk.
He sighed, and came out of the lab holding the deadly weapon. “Are we sure this is such a good idea? She has no control over her powers. What if-”
“Oh, re-laaaax ya big buzzkill!” Leo cut him off, tying Venus’s teal bandana over her head carefully. “If we can handle Shreddy, we can take care of a whittle baby fow one day, wight, Venus?” His words devolved into baby talk as he picked up his baby sister.
Before Donnie could respond, Splinter came into the room with April and Raph in tow. “Is everybody ready to go?”
Everybody nodded, Donnie reluctantly so.
In the Hidden City, they started at the wishing fountain. Then they went to the zoo, then an ice cream parlour. It was all good and fun times, until, as Donnie had predicted, Venus’s powers started to act up.
She was sitting on Mikey’s lap, when she suddenly took on a shimmery appearance, and fell right through him and the chair onto the floor, as though she were a ghost!
Suddenly free of her brother’s grasp, Venus started toddling away. Raph got up to chase her, but she toddled right through a wall, which Raph momentarily forgot he himself was still very much solid, and he slammed face first into the wall.
Leo ran out the door to follow her, when the laughing Venus suddenly hiccuped, and disappeared in a flash of light.
“Uh… did anybody know she could poof?” He asked aloud, looking around for the baby turtle.
“She can WHAT?” April gasped, coming around the corner with the others in tow.
“Venus can teleport. Because of course she can. The intangibility power and the crawling all over the walls doesn’t make her hard enough to take care of!” Donnie ranted.
“Come on, we gotta find her before she gets hurt!” Leo started running, not even sure what direction he should be running in.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the Hidden City, in witch town, Venus was toddling through the streets, watching all the pretty spells. She laughed and clapped her hands when a witch made a light show, but got spooked when another’s spell back fired, and started running off, her panic turning her invisible.
Frightened, Venus scampered through the streets, still invisible, and luckily intangible as well, as numerous vehicles and mutants zoomed past all around her.
“Bubba, bubba, bubba!” She cried, looking around to try and see anything the right shades of bright green, blue, red, purple or orange.
Leo ran right into witch town, looking around desperately. The turtles started asking witches if they’d seen Venus.
“She’s tiny! Only like an inch tall!” Raph told one witch.
“And she was wearing a teal bandana. And her little tutu.” Mikey explained to a taller witch in a blue and red uniform. “And she had her binkie with her!” Splinter tried to help.
“Venus doesn’t have a binkie.” Mikey corrected.
“She loves pizza, and skateboarding, and pizza, and her tutu, and pizza…” Leo showed a picture of Venus to the witch mayor.
“An Indian Tent turtle. She’s only one.” Donnie was explaining to Gentrie. April was by his side showing her a video of Venus on her phone.
“Yeah! I saw her!” Gentrie nodded. “She was toddling around, and then she suddenly turned invisible and disappeared. I think she was headed down Firevolt Street, towards downtown.”
“Thanks Gentrie.” Donnie nodded. April relayed the info via text to the others as she ran after Donnie down the busy street of Firevolt, narrowly dodging getting run over twice.
Searching for Venus, they stopped at the pier, and questioned some pirates. Leo kept his head low as the pirates pointed further down town.
In the Mystic Library, all they uncovered was a furious librarian, and were immediately kicked out, thankfully finding a good samaritan who had seen a little turtle tot heading towards the tracks.
Venus had toddled her way through the bad part of town, to the wrong side of the tracks.
“Bu?” She looked around, so very lost and scared.
She had reappeared after her energy had run low for her invisibility power and now she was shivering with cold.
“Hey, you.” A voice called.
Venus looked around. “Bubba?”
A yokai stood over her. He was green and had a blue jean jacket with the sleeves torn out, black pants and sandals, and a blue bandana tied around black hair. He was also strangely fluffy.
Venus, however, being the unobservant toddler she was, only saw green and blue, and decided he looked a lot like-
“We-oh!” She giggled, happy to finally see a familiar face. “We-oh! We-oh, up!”
The yokai, who was definitely not Leo, picked Venus up. “Uh, I dunno who Leo is, but I’m Loathsome Leonard.”
Venus looked at him blankly, then clapped her hands. “We-oh!” She proclaimed.
Loathsome Leonard sighed. He definitely wasn’t in the right business to be taking care of a baby… if he brought her back, the guys would definitely make fun of him.
“Hmm… what’s your name, kiddo?” He asked.
“Vena!” Venus replied, clapping her hands. She liked this game.
“Vena, huh? Well, from now on… you’re going to be Vicious Vena! You’re going to be a part of the Mud Dogs!” Leonard decided. This kid had potential. He had seen her turn visible from being invisible. That power would certainly be useful for a thief. Not to mention whatever other powers she could have.
“Mud doggy?”
Leonard shrugged. “Eh, the guys’ll forgive me for this.”
Meanwhile, the Mad Dogs were slowly getting discouraged, standing by the tracks, staring over at the wrong side, arriving well after Loathsome Leonard had left with Venus.
“Sooooo…” Mikey hummed. “Who wants to go first?”
Leo slowly stepped over the tracks to the wrong side. Hesitantly, the others followed, Mikey stepping over last, just before a very long train zipped behind them, trapping them there for a good long while.
“N-now what?” Mikey piped up, shivering.
“It’s okay. Don’t be scared.” Raph assured him.
“I’m not scared! It’s just cold over here!” Mikey protested.
“It’s the exact same temperature on this side of the tracks as it was on that side of the tracks.” Donnie pointed out.
“Well, I’m in a cold spot!”
“Guys.” Leo snapped. “Listen. You hear that?”
“Nnnoooo?” April replied, straining her ears to listen.
“I do!” Mikey gasped. “It sounds like pizza sizzling in a wood oven-”
Master Splinter smacked Mikey upside the head to shut him up.
“No, it sounds like somebody giggling!” Leo corrected, running off again.
The others followed, down the street and around a corner, screeching to a halt when coming face to face with the Mud Dogs. The worst part? Their leader, Loathsome Leonard, had Venus in his arms.
Venus was confused. If that was her family, and the turtle with the swords was Leo, then…
Who was holding her?
She let out a screech. Her screams were so loud that they caused a wave of sonic vibrations that made car alarms go off and nearby windows shatter.
Everybody covered their ears, Leonard dropping Venus in panic.
Venus teleported away, appearing at the very top of a nearby building, crawling on the side of it like Spider-Man. Leo and Leonard both yelled at the same time.
“Venus!”
“Vena!”
Poor Venus flinched at being yelled at, panicking and letting go of the side of the building.
Quickly, Leo started waving his odachi around. “Portal, please, don’t fail me now!” He begged.
To his (and everybody else’s) relief, the portal worked, one side opening just above Leo, and the other opening just below Venus, who fell through and into her brother’s arms.
“Gotcha.” Leo breathed.
Dastardly Danny stepped forward. “Awright, here’s whatcha gonna do. Yer gonna hand ‘er over, and then yer gonna skedaddle!”
“No.” Loathsome Leonard held his arm out to stop his team. “A baby’s too much work anyway.”
The Mud Dogs stared at Leonard like he was crazy, and started to argue.
The turtles, of course, hadn’t waited around to hear this. As soon as Danny had stopped talking, Leo had made a portal and they all jumped through.
Back at home, safe and sound, Venus let out a huge yawn.
“Yeah, it has been a long day.” Mikey agreed, stretching. Leo carried Venus to her cradle while Donnie got her lullaby music queued up and Mikey started making her bottle.
(Bonus):
Danny, upset at losing Vena, was stomping around, kicking rocks. He’d been excited to have a little sister, he didn’t care that she already belonged to somebody.
That was when crying caught his sensitive ears. He followed the sound until he came to a pile of rubble, where he could see the remains of a Yokai crushed under the debris.
But this one was dead, where was the crying coming from?
He dug a bit, until he found, in the middle of the pile, a couple rocks had landed just right that they made a shelter around a small green Yokai.
Danny picked her up, grinning. “Hey there, little pipsqueak.”
The Yokai was a turtle, he noticed, with yellow spots all over her shell. She had a yellow bandanna around her neck. The back of the bandana had a name stitched into it.
Jennika.

Ahh hello!! I went down the rabbit hole of all the age swap snippets and they are the moment!! I love the Steve and Nancy as divorced due to grief (even if the subject has changed, thematically we know they’re least compatible while mourning) Also Jonathan being Will’s dad and will being the loner!! I’m very curious what Steve’s relationship with the Byers will end dip being. It’s obvious that Nancy and Jonathan have *E~Motions* for each other and probably some history but I wonder about Steve. Maybe he was too busy being socially acceptable and being with carol? Also the plot twist of Terry becoming a larger part of the plot??? And Joyce and Karen bonding over loss!!! But also Dad!Steve but without Upside Down Development is very intriguing and hilarious to me.
Also for the final everyone has power AU, I wanted to ask if you could share some hints! Also this is just a personal thing but I really dislike how much a certain character from s4 has overtaken the fandom and was wondering if you planned to feature them heavily . ( I will still read, I just want prepare myself lol)
Anon, hello! If you celebrated a holiday this past week, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did mine. I’m thrilled that the ageswap AU sucked you in. Hopefully the final version will do the same. :D
I feel like, the thing with Steve and Nancy is, when they’re under stress (and also sort of just in general), Steve needs people, and Nancy needs something to *do*. If they were married and had to go through the illness and loss of a child, Nancy would want to Do Something About It, and there’d be nothing for her to do, which is why she eventually cracks under the strain and ends up where we see her at the beginning of the AU. And Steve isn’t much help because he wants her to just sit still for a minute and be with him, and their needs conflict, and then there’s the whole canon angle of ‘you’re trying to pretend like nothing happened’/’well, you can’t let it go’, and there are two other kids involved, and...well. It ended...badly. But. I will get into that. In the fic. Which I am totally working on. Shoosh.
And yes, Steve’s spending most of this fic trying very, very hard to be a Good Parent to a kid he absolutely does not understand and who is very badly hurt by his family’s past, and who also happens to be Mike. Hilarity will ensue.
As for former heroes who quit too late, I can say up front that Eddie and Chrissy will be appearing in minor roles (and also I’m including Fred, even if in name only, because I get attached to bit-part minor characters everybody forgets about). None of them are getting a bigger role than Heather had in season three in canon (they’re also not taking her canonical role, so that’s not a spoiler!). Think small, but potentially significant.
I don’t want to say too much about the plot yet, because I want it to be a bit of a ~mystery~. But I can tell you that Jonathan and Robin are going to get to have a nice long talk about Keeping Other People’s Secrets, that Max and El and Will are all going to bounce off of each other in different directions regarding blended families, and that Joyce and Hopper ferrying Alexei around is still happening but is going to look quite a bit different. Also, Goth Girl Samantha Stone is going to be there, because I love her.
And I can promise stupid little ice cream parlour sailor uniforms.

Meeting the family (F.W)
Requested: Yes/No
Pairing: Fred Weasley x fem!reader
Navigation
Summary: Fred takes Y/n to celebrate Christmas with his family. Even though he assures her that everyone it’s going to love her, he isn’t quite right.
Warnings: my english
A/N: Flashbacks are in italics!
Word count: 1.6k
Tumblr media
“Stop that.”
"Stop what?" She said looking at her boyfriend.
"Stop biting your nails." He said batting her hand away from her mouth. "They're going to love you."
They were sitting together in Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour in Diagon Alley. Fred had taken Y/n there before they had to go to The Burrow.
After being together for almost two years they decided it was time to meet each other's parents.
"Spend Christmas with me."
"What?" She said. "I'm spending Christmas with my family, you know that."
They were in The Three Broomsticks catching up. After Fred and George left the year before they hadn't had much time together, with him being the owner of Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes and her on her last year and the N.E.W.T.S coming up. But he always tried to meet her on Hogsmeade, and she would always find time to see him.
"Yes," said Fred. "I know. But come and stay just a few days with me. Just this time. I- I want to introduce you to my parents."
"Wha- Really?" She asked wide-eyed.
"Of course," He said smiling at her. "I want them to meet one of the few people that make me want to behave."
She felt her heat swell in her chest and reached out to take the hand he had on the table, she turned it upwards and intertwined their fingers. "You still don't behave, darling."
"I said that I wanted to, though," he said chucking. "Give me some credit."
It was the first time Y/n would meet Fred's family, and she couldn't avoid thinking that she would be imposing in their Christmas celebration -even if Fred said it was okay- and they would absolutely hate her.
"How are you so sure?" She said wiping chocolate ice cream from Fred's chin.
"Because I love you." He said holding her cheek across the table, noticing how she had eat her ice cream in five seconds, she must be really nervous. He sighed. "Everything will be okay," he said. "You know half the family already."
"I know," she said, leaning into his touch. "It's your parents I'm worried about."
"Don't be," he said kissing her softly on the corner of her mouth, and it made her cheeks warm. "You're fantastic, they will love you."
Tumblr media
When they Appareated in front of The Burrow she felt the air leave her lungs. The house was fantastic. It was weird and it looked like it would fall if it wasn't supported with magic. It reminded her of a fairytale story house.
She felt Fred's hand reaching for hers and she intertwined their fingers. Fred squeezed her hand a little tighter and she just knew that this was his way of showing her confort.
When they entered the house a fruity smell engulfed them, and for a moment all she sensed was quietness and tranquility. She should have known that those two adjectives were the exact opposite of the Weasleys.
"Ronald Weasley!" Said a high pitched voice. "Leave your sister alone!"
"That would be mum." Whispered Fred in Y/n's ear. She didn't get to say anything because her train of thought was interrupted by a loud explosion coming from another part of the house. "And that would be dad." She could only nod in response.
"We are here!" Screamed Fred. She could hear a lot of footsteps coming down the stairs, soon enough the owners of them revealing themselves. Ginny, Ron, Harry and George. No 'mum' then.
When George and Y/n locked eyes, his face broke into a big smile and he opened his arms for her to step on. She smiled as big as him and ran up to him, her arms around his waist and his arms on her back. "I haven't seen you in ages! How are you Y/n?" He said squeezing her a little tighter.
Since the twins left the school, George and Y/n had seen each other a lot less they would've liked it. They were really close when they were still at Hogwarts, and they really missed each other, they always said they were platonic soulmates.
"I'm fine, nervous, but fine," she said into his chest. "How are you?" She looked up at him and held him by the shoulders at an arm-length distance. "I'm fine," he said smiling. "Now better that you're here."
At that, Fred came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. "Enough," he said glaring at his twin, but the three of them knew it was without venom. "Stop flirting with my girl."
Y/n then went and said hi to Ginny, Harry and Ron. They were talking about Fred and George's shop when another loud explosion could be heard. Then, a tall, thin ginger man entered the house, his face a little dark with what Y/n were ashes.
"Hello boys!" He locked eyes with a very nervous Y/n. "You must be Y/n! How are you?" He said extending a hand for Y/n to shake. In his face a warm smile.
"Hello sir," she felt her cheeks burn when her voice faltered a little. "Nice to meet you."
"Oh!" Y/n spun around to see Mrs Weasley standing at the foot of the stairs. "Hello dear." She said a little stiffly, Y/n noticed how her eyes wandered to the Slytherin pin she had on her bracelet. Y/n lifted a hand in her direction. "It's really nice to meet you Mrs Weasley," she said smiling what she hoped was a relaxed and friendly smile. "Thank you for having me here."
Tumblr media
Dinner had been good. Mr Weasley was very enthusiastic about the fact that Y/n's dad was a muggle, he asked her how a microwave worked, and if she could turn on the one he had. She promised to try.
But Mrs Weasley was a whole other story. She asked her about her family and how did she and Fred meet. But there was something off. Y/n felt Mrs Weasley fixing her with a pointed look every time she said something.
Mrs Weasley had made her a bed in Ginny's room, even if Fred had begged his mum to letting her stay in his room.
"I don't think your mom likes me," she said looking up at Ginny. "I think your dad liked me enough," she sighed. "What do I do? Do you think it's because I'm a Slytherin?"
"I don't know," Ginny said. "Maybe. I mean, we've been called ‘blood traitors’ by a lot of Slytherins."
Y/n sighed. She did that a lot that day. "I'm getting a glass of water," she said to Ginny. "I'll be right back."
She got out of the room as quietly as possible, not wanting to wake up anybody. Descending the stair she heard whispering voices.
"Please be nice to her," said a voice she recognised as Fred's. "She is different, and she's... she's everything to me mum. Everything. It's not just a fling. I'm marrying her one day. I love her. So please, please take it easy on her."
Y/n felt her heart swell in her chest. The fact that Fred noticed that she felt uncomfortable and did something about it without her finding out. Just because he loved her. He wasn't even close to her but she felt as if he was there, holding her close to him.
"Oh Freddie," said Mrs Weasley. "I'm just looking out for you."
"I can look out for myself," Fred snapped. "I'm an adult, and she is too."
"Don't talk to me like that Fred Weasley." She said with the same voice she chastised her other children.
"Look mum," Fred said softly. "This is it, I'm not begging you to treat my girlfriend right. If this attitude doesn't change tomorrow we're going to her family's house for Christmas Eve. This is not a decision you can make for me."
At hearing some footsteps, she ran to Ginny's room, water forgotten. Entering the room, she saw that Ginny was already asleep. She laid down and repeated the conversation she heard downstairs until she finally fell asleep too.
Tumblr media
Breakfast was going good. Mr Weasley and Y/n were having a conversation about muggle sports and Mrs Weasley hadn’t say anything terrible at Y/n, so she counted that as a win. That was until they finished eating and Mrs Weasley with a flick of her wand made all the plates levitate to the kitchen.
“Y/n, dear,” Mrs Weasley said. “Would you help me?”
“Of course.” She said calmly getting up, even if she was screaming inside. Walking to the kitchen with sweaty palms and shaky legs she saw Mrs Weasley turning around and meeting her eyes, kindness all over them.
“I’m sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable Y/n,” she said. “You see, that there is my boy. My very irresponsible and problematic boy. It’s not that I don’t trust him to make any good decisions. But it’s hard to letting him go.” She finished smiling sheepishly.
“Mrs Weasley I’m not stealing him from you,” Y/n said stepping closer to her. “He will always be your irresponsible and problematic boy. And you will always be his mum. These thing don’t change just because he’s in a relationship. He values his family so much, I can tell. He talks a lot about you.”
“He talks a lot about you,” Mrs Weasley said. “Can you forgive darling? I shouldn’t have made assumptions about you. You’re a lovely girl. And I know you two love each other.”
Y/n felt as if a weight has been lifted off her shoulders. She let out a sight of relief and move forward into the open arms of Mrs Weasley.
“Of course I forgive you.”
“Thank you dear,” she said. “Welcome to the family.”

yayy! the ask box is open!!! may I have a request on how the adultrio would do if they wanted to kiss their female crush so bad and lovingly, but their crush secretly likes them so they kissed them back😚? Thank you❤️
Ohoho, anon 😏
Here come the emotional ice cubes melting from a kiss (can you imagine that happening? ><)
Thank you for the cute request and I hope you’ll like it! 🙇
A/N: hope it’s cute enough, I really tried to make it fluffy. One of them is loosely based on a personal experience, he he 😏
Chrollo
whipped to hell and back
now Chrollo suddenly understands all those books and poems about love and romance he’s been reading
he thought they were beautiful, but probably a little exaggerated
how could a human being feel so strongly about another one?
well, turns out, they can
while the Troupe says nothing
not that Chrollo’s expression or mannerisms change much in front of them
when it comes to you, he seems… softer
like he can just breathe a little better, see the brighter side of things
those who have known him for long, like Pakunoda or Feitan, can sense the change almost instantly
Chrollo might try to act like he usually does, but even they can see that he seems a little bit distracted
plus, he spends just a bit more time on his phone than usual and sometimes smiles when he looks at the screen
he’s always amused by what you tell him
or when you send him a photo of something you saw
or thought he might like or that reminded you of him
the Spiders think it’s cute
crush or not, they know that Chrollo seems happier and it always makes them happier as well
he isn’t even sure if you like him back
you’re always friendly and affectionate with him
so he’s happy with what he can get, even if he’d want more
but he’s happy to be able to spend time with you
so when you’re both free, he invites you to hangout
he’d like to call it a date, but he’s not sure if he should tell you how he actually feels just yet
if only he knew that you were in the same situation…
you two always go to pretty interesting places and always have fun, no matter where you are
Chrollo is so happy when you’re enjoying the street food he’s bought for the both of you
you remind him of a little chipmunk
and he’s even amused when he takes a bit of the food from your cheek
which he hopes flusters you at least a little bit because it’s cute how you try to look anywhere but at him
it works, but it makes him chuckle, which you love hearing
so win-win situation
Chrollo insists on taking you home because he’s a gentleman and wants you to be safe
if there was something you’d noticed throughout your entire hangout it’s that Chrollo’s been glancing at your lips quite often
you’d checked your face subtly in the restroom and in reflective surfaces, but there was nothing
if you thought it was what it was, then you were ready
when you reach your door and turn around, Chrollo’s smiling softly
he’s still trying to steel himself to just do something and hoping it won’t make you resent him: confess, kiss you, hold your hand, hug you, anything
he’s been dreaming and imagining kissing you for so long
always replacing the characters in books with the two of you
and imagining all the romance and clichés in poems as he does them with you
Chrollo just feels like his heart won’t be able to go on for long if he doesn’t get to bring his thoughts to life
his eyes automatically go to your lips and you feel yourself smiling
you’re counting in your head until you will hug him
you wouldn’t want to kiss Chrollo and make him uncomfortable, after all
but before you’re done counting, Chrollo’s hands are on your cheeks, thumbs caressing the skin softly
and his lips are softer than you thought they might be
and whether he expects you to be surprised or not, you don’t really wait before kissing him back
well, Chrollo is actually the surprised one
he definitely didn’t expect you to react so well and so quickly
but he can’t complain
it only makes him pull you closer and deepen the kiss
it’s so easy to feel each other smile into the kiss
Hisoka
Hisoka has been “confessing” for quite some time
okay, I’m sorry, but it always makes you laugh
he just says it in such a teasing and eccentric way that it’s hard to believe him
well, that was Hisoka’s intention since the beginning
but over time, it just started becoming a little frustrating
he had thought about whether he actually liked you or not
Hisoka had taken some time away from you
it was because of something personal, but he also saw it as an experiment
during the first few days, when he was significantly busier, he barely had time to think of you, though you were still somewhere there, in the back of his mind
but you were always the last thought before sleeping and the first one when he was waking up
he’d sometimes send you some filtered selfies – his own way of reassuring you that he was okay
he honestly can’t wait to be done and come back to you
maybe he might even take you to some of the places he’s seen one day
Hisoka just realises that he might have a BIG tiny crush on you
the rest of the days he’s gone are spent reflecting and thinking about you
do you like him back?
do you even consider him a friend?
well, those questions will have to wait
as soon as he’s back and taken a shower, Hisoka insists on hanging out at your place
you’d insisted on having movie nights at least once a month
junk food, comfortable clothes, laziness and a nice and invigorating skin-care routine
the two of you pretty much just melt into the cushions after you’ve stuffed yourselves full
despite the invigorating face masks, you’re both pretty tired
not enough to fall asleep, but not enough to clean up the mess around you
you’re laying down on the couch, your head almost touching the side of Hisoka’s thigh while he sits upright, but a little bit slumped to the side, close to you
one of his hands is absentmindedly playing with the fingers on one of your hands
the movie playing for you isn’t the most interesting
well, your tiredness makes it even less interesting
Hisoka looks down at you and smiles a little when he notices that your eyes are closed
his hand squeezes your own before it leaves for your cheek
the touch of his fingers is almost feather-light
Hisoka’s pretty sure that you’re tired enough to answer his questions without really thinking through
(Y/N), are we friends? ♠️
Mm, ‘course we are…
And what would you say if I told you I like you? ♥️
Very funny, ‘Soka…
his expression sours a little at that
What if I’m serious this time? ♣
Sure you are… you always are…
Hisoka is actually a little annoyed
how dense could you be?
he would tease you and always make it seem like you had a crush on him
but he was actually serious for once – no smile, no teasing
too bad he didn’t realise that this was your plan ever since he’d started playing with your fingers
Then can I show you? ♦
Mhm…
he’s a little nervous, but he smirks nevertheless and licks his lips before kissing you
he probably expected you to either be shocked and hit him
or kiss him back sleepily
but you pretty much just kissed him back, a lot harder than he did
your hand cupping his cheek
his eyes were wide as he saw you open yours
and you let go of his lips, grinning mischievously
it barely lasted for a second before he was pulling you upright and in his arms, lips diving in back to yours as he smirked happily
you’d tease him about his so-called confession later
Illumi
someone help this poor guy already
yeah, so, Illumi had no idea that he even felt anything for you
for quite a while
he was a bit too dense when it came to how affectionate you were
some of your gestures were on purpose
pretty much just testing the waters
but Illumi thought that that’s how you treated everyone
so he didn’t see himself as anyone special in your life
cue face-palm
but yeah, you decided that you’d leave it at that
if it happened and Illumi would ever like you romantically, great
if not, then you’d slowly move on and remain only friends
it’s not until Hisoka jokingly asks Illumi if you’re single that he sort of stops
his fingers twitch a little, almost ready to grab his needles
and his bloodlust increases
Hisoka smirks knowingly before telling him that he was only joking
Illumi can’t stop thinking about the moment though
he keeps theorising about what it’d be like if you told him that you found someone you liked
oh, he did not like that at all
he would’ve asked you, but since you were the subject of the new… feelings he was having, it didn’t seem like such a good idea
so, on to the internet
pretty much every site he checked said the same thing: a crush on its way to becoming actual love
next level: denial
Illumi is an assassin
he doesn’t need friends
he doesn’t need love
so how did he fall for you?
not even he knows
but he knows that, as much as he denies it, he likes being around you
spending time with you, hearing you talk, hearing you laugh, especially if he made you laugh
the thoughts of taking you out and actually getting to be the only one for you slowly make him accept the situation he’s in
and the more time he spends with you, the more Illumi starts thinking about wanting to confess
you’re as affectionate and friendly as ever
and Illumi actually glares at anyone who comes close to you with the intention of flirting
that hangout of yours means the two of you go to a little ice cream parlour
Illumi’s treat, as he always insists
he’s listening to you talk about what you’ve been doing while he was away for a mission for a few days
to others, it looks like he’s zoning out, words going in one ear and out the other
but you know better
Illumi is literally hanging on to your every word, watching the way your eyes crinkle in happiness
they way your cheeks almost seem to develop dimples from how hard you’re trying not to smile too much
the way your lips move and how they look so kissable
he absentmindedly takes a spoonful of his ice cream
attention snapping to your laughter as you’re looking at him with a fond smile
you lean forward and Illumi does it too without even thinking
your intention was to wipe the side of his mouth with your napkin since he didn’t seem to have noticed the ice cream there
while he thought that you wanted to kiss him
so he did it for you instead
you were stunned for a fraction of a second before smiling and pulling him closer, hands on his cheeks
Illumi could feel his heart beat loudly in his chest
he didn’t see the shock on the other customers’ faces
honestly, neither did you
you were both a little too busy enjoying the moment
but when you laughed happily because your crush was actually mutual and you even got your first kiss with him
Illumi’s lips quirked in a little smile before he fed you some of his remaining ice cream
holding onto your hand tightly as you continued talking and occasionally kissing here and there
no one said a thing, too afraid of Illumi
good thing you weren’t

Day Out
Happy Nat Day Eve! Here is my Nat x Reader fic. The reader is in their late teens and living with the Avengers bc reasons, and Nat decides to spend quality time with them. Enjoy! ❤️
Tumblr media
"Y/N, we're here..." Nat called out, gently shaking you awake. The two of you decided to have a day out together, it was going to be a typical, cheesy day where you both get ice cream and just spend some much needed time together. You saw each other as close sisters, and you were very thankful for that since you grew up an only child.
But now, you weren't amused about being woken up, you didn't sleep well the night before so you used the half an hour car journey to catch up on some much needed sleep. You temporarily forgot you were going to be spending the day with one of your all time favourite people, so the grumpiness took over you.
"Nooo... lemme sleep..." You grumbled, curling up more as you nuzzled your head against the window, ignoring Nat's fond chuckle. What you didn't realise however, was Nat's hand slowly creeping towards your side, her fingers teasingly wriggling. She didn't even give you a chance to wake up before she lightly scribbled her fingers into your side.
You gasped and arched away, bursting into sleepy giggles as you wriggled around on the seat whilst lightly trying to slap Nat's hand away. You were trapped in the car seat with the seat belt holding you down. There was nowhere you could go, so you had to accept your fate and giggle helplessly.
"Good moooooorning, Y/N, rise and shine!" She teased, still scribbling in gently and simply following you as you squirmed around in your seat. She soon changed her method of torture by squeezing both of her hands into your thighs, smirking fondly at you as you screeched and kicked out.
"NAHAHAHAHAT!" You wailed, trying to undo your seat belt so you could escape, but you were way too sensitive to control yourself, resulting in Nat smirking cheekily as she jellyfished your knees.
"BUHUHUHUT IHIHIHICE CREHEHEHEAM!" You protested, hoping that would convince Nat to let you go.
Rolling her eyes, Nat unbuckled your seat belt and helped you up. "Fine, but I only stopped because I want a sundae." She told you with a fond smile, before unbuckling her own seat belt and getting out of the car.
You smiled shyly and got out the car, racing over to the cute little ice cream parlour that was just ahead of you. You immediately grabbed a table and sat down, looking over at Nat as if you had been waiting for her for hours.
"Nice to see you finally showed up." You tease with a grin, causing Nat to roll her eyes and squeeze your knee from under the table. "Ha Ha, very funny." She chuckled and rolled her eyes before grabbing her menu to look at it. The two of you spent the rest of the time chatting and stealing each others ice cream.
Once the two of you came out, you couldn't help but notice a park, it was empty since it was a lunchtime on a Tuesday so all the children were in school, you looked over at Nat, giving her puppy eyes.
"I've never been in a park... could we go in?" You asked quietly, noticing Nat's eyes look at you sadly. She knew you had a tough childhood, so of course she was going to jump at this opportunity to make up for lost time. Grinning, Nat grabbed your hand and dragged you into the park, sitting you down on a swing.
You knew what to do from the movies you saw, but Nat insisted on pushing you a few times before getting on one herself. The two of you talked about anything that came into your heads as you let the fresh air rush past you, it felt amazing, you felt so free.
Eventually, Nat decided it was time to launch herself off, proceeding in showing off her superhero pose as she did so. You rolled your eyes. "Alright, show off." You giggled, waiting for the swing to come to a stop before getting off yourself.
Nat glared at you playfully, eyeing up the monkey bars. "Bet you can't get across those." She challenged before racing over to them, climbing on and showing off her strength by going across them herself.
You smirked, deciding to sneak up behind her and scribble under her arms. "Go on then! Show me how amazing you are!" You grinned, watching as Nat burst into giggles, her legs flailed in the air as she tried to keep her grip on the bars. Although she managed to get herself onto the next bar, you simply followed her and squeezed into her sides.
"Wow Nat, you're not very good at this." You teased cheekily, suddenly going back to shake into her armpits, the surprise change made her yelp and drop onto the ground.
You blushed a little as Nat gave you a playful glare, she folded her arms and raised her eyebrows. "Come on then, your turn." She challenged, watching as you climbed onto the first set of bars and hung off them. It was tougher than you thought, but you were determined to show Nat what for.
Taking in a deep breath, you used all your strength to get yourself to the second bar, you felt your arms screaming at you to let go, but you pushed yourself to fight through the pain and get to the other side.
However, you didn't realise your shirt had ridden up, and that Nat was stood behind you with her fingers hovering over your belly. "You're doing great, Y/N, but you gotta be prepared for... distractions." Nat told you before fluttering into your belly, smirking as you brought your knees up to try and protect your belly as you burst into high pitched giggles. You were once again swinging around, but you were determined to keep holding onto the bars.
"Not bad at all..." Nat smirked and walked around so she was now facing you. "Now, for the next challenge." She smirked before leaning in and blowing a raspberry on your belly, whilst spidering her fingers up and down your sides, easily dodging your kicks as you broke into hysterical laughter. You dropped down in seconds and covered your upper body.
Nat chuckled fondly, she was glad to see you let go and have some fun, but she wasn't done with you yet. She wrapped you up in a cuddle and wriggled her fingers over your ribs. "You loooooost~" She whispered into your ear before pressing a tiny kiss onto it. She smiled as you burst into high pitched giggles, whilst wriggling around in hers arms, feeling free to just let go and have some fun,
"Nohohoho! You cheheheheated!" You protested, letting out a squeal when Nat blew a raspberry onto your neck as punishment for your sass.
"Says the one who tickled me in the first place!" She protested, now scratching gently into your sides to keep you giggling. She watched as you let out high pitched giggles whilst you wriggled around in your arms.
Eventually, she let you go and just hugged you normally. "You love me really." Nat smiled, giving you a reassuring squeeze as you nodded, feeling incredibly loved and content.
"Yep, I do indeed."

deja vu
in which harry gets a new girlfriend and it’s giving him major deja vu.
angst ! fluff ! all of the above ! feedback is welcome as always <3 based off of the wonderful song, deja vu by olivia rodrigo!!
Tumblr media
“Well, maybe we should end it”
Harry suggested and Y/N froze. end it? why is that even something that came into his mind. It was a small, petty fight about a girl. A nice girl that Y/N is apparently jealous of, she’s not by the way. The girl just is the a little too close to her boyfriend, hugging him and kissing him on the cheek when she thinks Y/N isn’t watching them. And harry just sits there, let’s her do that while Y/N his girlfriend of three years is sitting right in front of them. Never did he bitch about her or complain, just compliments for the nice girl at the party.
“W...What?” Y/N stuttered sitting on the hood of the car. The car they bought together. They both worked at an ice cream place down in town, so with the little money they both had and a little support from their parents, they both this beauty. Of course, harry was the only one able to drive it for a whole year because poor Y/N didn’t have her drivers license yet.
“I think we should end it, this” Harry said pointing between himself and Y/N. Her eyes began to fill with tears and the guilt hit him quickly.
“I’m sorry, Y/N. But i just can’t do this back and forth thing anymore. We’re not in middle school” Harry said and sniffled a bit. Y/N nodded, she had sort of know someone like harry wouldn’t stay with someone like her for that long anyways. It’s just apart of life, right?
Right?
“You can keep the car. I’ll find some other way to get into work” Harry mumbled handing Y/N the keys to their shared car. Her eyes widen and anger surged through her veins.
“How dare you” Y/N yelled, a sob coming out of her mouth. “You’re dumping me? you’re fucking dumping me?” she yelled out and that attracted some stares. They were in their place, their special place in Malibu under the stars and near the beach. That’s all theirs.
“You flirt with this girl for a year of our relationship. you do it right infront of me, harry! and you can’t handle it anymore?” Y/N exclaimed and harry sighed, looking slightly embarrassed as more people started to watch them. “Fine, fuck go be with her! i don’t care” Y/N said wiping the tears off of her cheeks and getting into the car.
“Goodbye, harry”
And a couple of weeks later, harry was with that nice girl. That pretty girl, who was a carbon copy of you - harry figured that out pretty quickly, when they got to know each other more.
They were watching reruns of glee when he got this moment of deja vu. Like he had done this before.
Because he had. With Y/N.
“I love this show” Y/N giggled, her hand in harrys hair. Harry nodded agreeing as they watched the new directions so a performance again, this time tina and mercedes were leading the group.
“Y’know you don’t have to pretend to like it, we can change the channel if you want?” Y/N offered and Harry shook his head quickly and blushed. “No, i like it. Could make a good band name, no? New direction, one direction?” Harry teased and you giggled.
“Huh. You’re more of gleek than i am”
“i hate this show” The nice girl said changing the channel, before harry could speak up. Instead of disagreeing with her, he just nodded and kissed the side of her head. He liked glee.
Other times of this deja vu stuff, it was really honest mistakes. Like, nearly calling her Y/N’s name. You were just on his mind, it was nothing serious. He missed the car, that’s all. He also missed the strawberry ice cream and the late night chats under the malibu sky. So he took her there. He put billy joels, ‘uptown girl’ on the radio and grinned when she sang to it. She wasn’t as care free as Y/N though. Y/N had her own shrine of billy joel, her dad is absolutely obsessed with the man and passed that on to Y/N.
Of course, harry had heard of billy joel but had only listened to his most famous songs. Y/N introduced to him to the real billy joel, it was their thing. Listening to billy joel in Y/N’s basement after a long shift, harry would lay his head on her stomach as Y/N sang to vienna or sometimes harry would pull her up and dance around to piano man. He missed that so much.
The chorus of ‘uptown girl’ came on and harry looked over at the nice girl, he now calls his own.
“I love you” He said and she stopped singing and placed a hand on his knee.
Y/N did that. Had her hands all over him.
“I love you too” The nice girl hummed and Harry sighed, now getting another sense of deja vu.
“Did you see Harry and that girl together, Y/N?” Sarah, her new shift buddy asked. Y/N had seen them together, the nice girl that harrys with likes to post everything on social media. Y/N sees the traded jackets, the billy joel, the i love you’s in malibu, the strawberry ice cream. Y/N wondered if the girl laughed at harry because of how annoying he was during glee, or when he puts a jacket on way too small for him, or when they sing in the car. Does he steal Y/N jokes, like he stole everything else?
“Yeah, i did. Seem like a nice couple” Y/N said with a smile. Sarah, only knowing her a couple days, thought nothing of it. Y/N was breaking inside, she literally felt her heart break in two everytime she thought of the two.
How could harry just replace Y/N like that?
“I’d like to be an actress” The nice girl said licking her strawberry ice cream. Harrys eyes widened, deja vu. Y/N had told him, just before they started dating that she was going to be the next meryl streep - why she chose meryl streep, he’ll never know. Y/N has always wanted to be an actress. She had done a few jobs here and there, and always got the main part in plays and musicals. Being an actress is Y/N’s things.
“That’s great” Harry said supporting a forced grin. The nice girl didn’t think anything of it. Y/N wouldn’t known something was wrong.
A different girl, but nothings new.
Harry had to get away. Away from the nice girl who had ruined Y/N and Harrys relationship. So he went to the ice cream parlour. He knew Y/N was working with sarah, mitch is one of his closest friends and he’s dating sarah — so after some digging and prodding, he got the info he needed and set off to town. Without her. Harry dropped her off at her apartment, made up some lame excuse of not feeling well and needed to rest. Y/N would’ve offered soup, the nice girl just said get well soon and closed the apartment door in his face. It was too easy. It shouldn’t be that easy to lie to her, it was never like that with Y/N. Harry couldn’t lie to Y/N for the life of him, even around birthdays or christmas. He sucked at keeping secrets and telling fibs.
“Welcome to All things nice, how may i help you!” Y/N’s voice rang out as she was cleaning out the sink. The bell had notified her, that a customer was in the shop. She just didn’t know that customer was her ex boyfriend.
“Are we able to talk?” Harry asked wringing his hands. Y/N quickly turned around, almost bashing her head into the shelf. Her eyes were wide and her heart broke, again. She could barley handle the instagram posts. She can’t handle harry in real life. Not after what he did. Maybe if it was a mutual break up - but it really was not a mutual break up.
“I’m sorry, we don’t serve that” Y/N snapped pushing the spoons into a drawer. Harry flinched and nodded placing his hands in his back pockets. “Ok, i deserved that” he mumbled. He just needed to explain, just five minutes.
“Please, Y/N. i just need to explain” Harry pleaded, sounding proper desperate. Y/N couldn’t help but feel anger and sadness as she listened to harry beg for her time. She just couldn’t believe he was back so quick, so early in his new relationship.
“What do you possibly need to explain” Y/N asked dropping the spoons and looking at harry over the ice cream. It was rather cliche, really.
“You dumped me, because i pointed out that a girl - by the way, i was right - was coming onto you. I just needed reassurance, harry. That you wouldn’t cheat, that you wouldn’t leave me!” you exclaimed and harry nodded. “I just needed that. and i’m really glad that you dumped me. because we obviously weren’t meant for each other” Y/N said continuing her clean up.
“We are meant to be” Harry said. “We’re Y/N and harry” he said, his voice breaking. Y/N almost felt bad.
“No. You’re in a relationship. You say i love you, to her. You sing billy joel and swap jackets. You eat strawberry ice cream with her for fuck sakes harry” Y/N yelled, pulling at her hair. Harry sniffled and nodded. “I know, I know” he mumbled.
“Do you get deja vu?” Y/N asked “hmm?” she asked again when she didn’t get an answer.
“Thought so”

Soft Serve ~ myg
Tumblr media
~summary: you didn’t expect anything remarkable to happen this birthday, but a basketball, an ice cream cone and an old friend might have something to say about that... ~wc: 1.3k ~childhood friends to... lovers?, fluff ~rating: g ~warnings: a slight bump on the head
~a/n: this is something I quickly whipped up (heh.. no pun intended) as a token of my love for @ddaechwita on her birthday!! it was last week but fear not, I sent this to her on the day as well😊chelle, you are the most gorgeous, creative, supportive and funny friend and an absolute dream to know!💜I’m so gald we met and became friends, and I look forward to our movie nights and hilarious chats for ages to come😘
Tumblr media
it’s your birthday
just a simple fact, nothing special really
you don’t have any plans
but it feels sad to just sit around inside all day, so you decide to go out
there are a few messages from your friends screaming well wishes at you
they make you smile as you head for the door, sending off quick ‘thank you’s between shuffling into your boots
next to the park, there’s a cute ice cream café
you know the owner well enough, though you decide not to eat in
he notices that you go a little overboard from your usual order, but you brush it off
it’s a lot of effort telling people it’s your birthday, yknow? Then there’s some sort of expectation and they have to tell you happy birthday, meaningless out of obligation
so you take your order of mint chocolate, with a scoop of chocolate as well beside it, and head out
it’s a special occasion, why not treat yourself? Even if it’s from yourself, it still counts as a present, right?
thankfully it’s sunny, and the wind doesn’t bother you too much
perfect weather for an ice cream, really
it’s not melting either, so you stroll quietly while licking at it, savouring the taste
you’re in no rush, after all
the park is pretty empty, but you kind of like that
there are a few families walking around, one of them pushing a pram
and there are some teenagers hanging around a bench
you steer around them
yes, you’re several years older than them, plus one more year as of today, but still.. youths
at the end of this path are the sports courts, which is the busiest place
the sound of scuffling shoes and bouncing balls fill the air
you’re barely started on your veritable tower of ice cream when you walk past, head down even though you know no one behind the fence will look at you, caught up in their games
until a shout goes up, making you turn in time to find a shape flying rapidly towards you-
the impact has come and gone before you have a chance to move, and you come back to your senses as you double over, clutching your head where pain begins to seep in…
and there on the pavement under your nose, lies the slowly expanding puddle which once was your ice cream
though the pain passes soon enough – the kind which was familiar from the school playground, which would bloom intensely though you knew you were fine really, and fade away just as soon – you can’t help the dejected sigh at the loss of your ice cream
that’s when a breathless ‘hey’ meets your ears
straightening up, you catch sight of a guy jogging up to you, loose unbuttoned overshirt flapping a little behind him
protests are on the tip of your tongue, ready to assure him you’re okay and there is nothing to apologise about, before handing back the ball and continuing on your way, albeit short of a birthday ice cream tower
but that all dies on your lips as the sight of the man dawns on you with recognition
Min Yoongi
!!
it can’t be
Min Yoongi, the basketball-crazy friend from school
the kid who used to be at the same sleepovers, who you shared those awful fruit ciders with when you were old enough to start drinking
here he is, stopping in front of you, slightly damp hair hanging from a headband fastened around his crown, looking… older, yet unmistakeably Yoongi
“Y/N!” he pants, flopping forwards to rest his palms against his knees, “you alright?”
“yeah, thank you,” you smile, almost apologetic as you scoop up the basketball that had stilled by your feet, offering it back to him
nodding, he takes it and chucks it across the fence in one move, holding up a hand in some gesture to the group the other side, who get back to playing
“sure you’re alright?”
“thanks”
he frowns down at the tragic sight on the floor
“let me get you another one”
“no, really, there’s no need”
“come on, Y/N, I just hit you on the head with a basketball and spilled your ice cream, all on your birthday. I can’t live with myself!”
his gummy grin is oh so familiar as he jokes, but you just stare
“how do you know it’s my birthday?”
he blinks
“well, it’s today.”
“I know that”
“so do I. not like I was there like, every year when we were kids”
“you still remember?”
he waits for a second longer, eyes locked with yours, before he makes a noncommittal noise, turning away with a slight nod
but he doesn’t go back towards the court
he’s walking back up the park, towards the ice cream parlour
hurrying to his side, you try to protest some more
but he simply cuts you off with a ‘mint and chocolate, right?’
“yeah-“ the words are out of your stunned mouth before you can register
and so, it looks like Min Yoongi is buying you ice cream
he walks out of the shop, both hands full, one with your original order, though somehow with a ton more cream and sprinkles than it had before
chewing your lip, you accept it with a shy ‘thank you’
how he remembered not only your birthday but your ice cream order, after all this time…
the two of you fall into step as you take the opposite direction, the long way around the park which will get you back to the courts right at the end of the route
when you start talking, it’s so easy, quickly slipping into conversation the way you always had until you’re halfway around the park
except...
he isn’t eating his ice cream
any drip that starts to fall, he catches with a finger and licks it up, but the ice cream stays otherwise untouched in his hand
“did they mess up your order?”
“hmm?”
“you’re not eating”
“oh. it’s caramel, in case you wanted any of that too…”
gaping, your feet slow
“that’s my other favourite”
“I know.”
“well, I’ll have some, if you’ll eat some at least. take the rest of this”
Yoongi only protests meekly as you press the half-consumed mint and chocolate monstrosity into his hands, and you’re happy to see him begin to eat
meanwhile, the caramel is a welcome change to the other flavours you had filled up on so far
but that doesn’t tell you why Yoongi still knows so much about you…
“so, care to tell me how you remembered all this?”
he’s silent
“are you stalking me or something?” you joke, and relief washes over you as he does smile at that, though it fades a little quickly
he isn’t meeting your eye
“I always remember”
“Yoongi…”
“every year, I think about you… especially on your birthday”
standing still at last, facing each other, you watch as his eyes lift, strikingly large, filled with a worried anticipation over your reaction
“that’s… that’s so sweet. Yoongi, I don’t know what to say”
“you don’t have to say anything,” he digs his free hand into his pocket, once again studying the pavement, “but really, I was happy to see you. this was the least I could do”
for a moment, you stand in quiet together and you’re pretty sure your heart is melting
this was absolutely not what you had expected for your lonesome trip outside for your birthday, but you were thankful for every part
even the part where you were hit on the head by a basketball
“thank you, Yoongi,” you smile
he seems to sag with relief, meeting your eyes at last
“would you wanna get my number?” you ask, “it’s been too long. and maybe we could meet without me getting a concussion”
his eyebrows shot up
“you said it didn’t hurt-“
“it doesn’t, I was just joking!” you quickly backtrack
swallowing, he chuckles
“okay”
“okay?”
“give me your phone”
taking it out and handing it to him, your eyes meet over the exchange in your hands
his eyes crease, smiling widely in a reflection of your own
:]
yeah, this birthday hasn’t been half bad

ch. 11: Quality Time
“You’re Daddy’s friend!”
“Yes, baby. This is Bokuto. He’s Mommy and Daddy’s friend okay?” Hikori nodded, fingers reaching towards Bokuto’s head. “Don’t do that, Hiki.”
“But he let me do it last time!”
(Name) raised an eyebrow. She hadn’t known that Bokuto and Hikori had met let alone interacted. “Ask Kou-san first though, okay?”
Hikori’s lip jutted out in a pout before he nodded. “Yes Mama.” He looked up at Bokuto. “Can I touch your hair, Kou-san?”
“Sure thing buddy.” Bokuto scooped Hikori up, holding him against his chest so that Hikori could play with the dual-toned locks. A pang shot through his heart. Would this have been a common occurrence if he’d stayed?
(Name) watched with a heavy-hearted expression before she shook her head. “How was daycare today, Hiki?”
“Good!” He chirped. “Aiko and I coloured.”
“Aw, that’s nice,” (Name) smiled.
“Who’s Aiko?” Bokuto asked, feeling Hikori let go of his hair.
“Konoha’s daughter,” (Name) replied. Bokuto’s brow furrowed slightly. They were close to Konoha? Did everyone know except for him? “What do you wanna do today, Hiki? Do you wanna go to the park today?”
“Yes please, Mama!” Hikori put his arms out, reaching for his mother. “Mama hold me!”
(Name) giggled, taking her son into her arms. She glanced over at Bokuto who was barely hiding his disappointment. “Did you drive, Kou?”
“Yeah I did.”
“Hmm, drive to your place, and we’ll go to a park nearby yours, ok?” She offers. His expression brightens as he nods. “Text me the address and I’ll meet you there.” (Name) gently holds Hikori’s hand, leading him to her car.
“Mama?”
“Yes Hiki?”
“Who is Kou-san?”
(Name) looks into her rearview mirror, eyeing her son as her expression falters slightly. Those golden pools shone brightly with innocence as they reflected the sun.
Who was Bokuto to her? To Kuroo? An ex-boyfriend? An ex-best friend? By all virtues, they had never officially ended their relationship and she had simply moved on.
She swallowed, grasping the steering wheel harder. “Kou-san?”
“Mmhm!” He gave her a lopsided grin, fists clenching with excitement as he wiggled in his booster seat.
She hesitated. (Name) and Kuroo had agreed to hold off on explaining to Hikori who Bokuto was to him, but how was she to answer this question now? She desperately regretted not talking to Kuroo and agreeing on something.
“Back in high-school, Bokuto was close friends with me and your father,” she replied finally. “We went to college together too.”
“Why hasn’t he been around sooner?” Hikori tilted his head, fists opening and closing rapidly.
“Do you remember Daddy’s job?”
“With the volleyball team?” Hikori perked up, nodding. His father had brought him a Black Jackal mascot plushie with a jersey on it - ironically one with the Number 12 on it though she wasn’t sure whether or not it was intentional on Kuroo’s part.
“Well, Kou-san plays on that team.” She carefully turned, braking as they approached a stop-light. Her heart clenched with pain as she fought to keep her voice steady. “He moved to Osaka many years ago and hasn’t been back since. That’s why you haven’t met him yet, baby.”
“Oh okay!” Hikori nodded, satisfied with his mother’s answers. “Do you think he could show me how to play volleyball?”
“Of course, bubba. Just ask him, okay?”
As she pulled up into the complex, (Name) took one last steadying breath. For their son’s sake, she would make this work. Or at least put in the best effort to do so.
*****
“Wow, you’re pretty good at this ‘Kori!” Bokuto beamed, pride swelling in his chest as he watched his son serve.
“Thank you Kou-san!” Hikori chirped, grinning. Bokuto’s heart stuttered. Hikori really was his mother’s son. That toothy grin looked exactly like (Name)’s. He spared a glance at his ex-girlfriend who was sitting at the park bench, watching them play. “Aki-san and Iwa-san taught me!”
Bokuto’s attention was drawn back to Hikori as he watched him bounce the ball a few times in preparation for another serve. “Is that so?”
Hikori nodded eagerly. “When Mama and Aya-san are too busy, Iwa-san sometimes takes me and Aiko to the courts and teaches us how to play.”
“Who’s Aya-san?”
“Aiko’s mama and Mama’s best friend.”
“I see.” Bokuto steps forward, holding a hand out to Hikori. “Do you wanna learn how to do a jump-serve?”
Hikori’s golden eyes brightened as he looked up at Bokuto, nodding vehemently. “That’d be so cool! Iwa-san promised he’d teach me, but he said that I was too little to do it.”
Bokuto shook his head, grinning proudly. “Don’t worry, ‘Kori! I’ll teach ya.”
Silently, a battle raged within Bokuto. Not only had he lost the love of his life, he’d also lost the opportunity to raise their son with her. Huh. Their son. It was still an odd thought that he couldn’t wrap his head around.
(Name) had knowingly let him leave for the Jackals even though she was pregnant with their son and Bokuto couldn’t figure out whether that was selfish on her part, or on his.
On one hand, he’d had the opportunity to go pro, and though he missed her constantly, he wouldn’t give up his career for anything. On the other hand, other guys were teaching his son how to play volleyball. Something that he’d always dreamed of doing.
“That’s it Rin!” Bokuto grinned, watching as Rin received the ball perfectly. “Let’s take a break now and then I’ll show you how to serve, okay?” Bokuto promised with Rin nodding eagerly.
“Okay Kou-san!” Rin ran towards his sister who was reading beside (Name), boasting about what he had accomplished.
Bokuto came up and took a seat besides (Name), who handed him a water bottle and a towel. He chuckled, what a manager, he thought fondly as he drank the water. “You look like you’re having a ton of fun, Kou,” she laughed, wiping the sweat off of his forehead.
He grinned, nosing her cheek. “I am!” He plops down beside her, throwing a sweaty arm over her shoulder. Besides wrinkling her nose at his sweat, she just leans into his form. “I can’t wait to teach my kids how to play. Do you think they’ll wanna be a wing-spiker too?”
(Name) giggled, patting his thigh. “I’m sure at least one of them will.”
“At least one?” Bokuto perked up, glancing down at her as she fiddled with the cap on his bottle.
“Well, yeah. I’m sure you’d be an excellent father, Kou, and I wouldn’t mind having kids with you. Maybe one boy, one girl?”
He leaned forward, peppering kisses all over her face. “That’d be fantastic,” he breathed, leaning his forehead against the side of hers. “I can’t convince you to have an entire volleyball team worth of kids, can I?” he teased.
She pushed his face away, face burning at the mere idea and she was grateful for Rin. “Kou-san, let’s play!” Rin interrupted, crossing his arms as he stood in front of the couple. “Stop being gross with (Nickname)-san!”
“Ok, ok, I’m coming!” Bokuto chuckled, standing up and ruffling Rin’s hair. As he made his way back to the makeshift net, he couldn’t help the final glance back to his girlfriend. Bokuto pointed at Rin, the volleyball, and then (Name) mouthing, “Our kids will be amazing at volleyball.” Laughing, she threw him a thumbs-up, nodding fondly. Yes, yes they will be.
Bokuto shook his head, looking back down at Hikori. The past was in the past. All he had now was to look forward to the future.
“Can we get ice cream, Kou-san?”
“Huh?” He looked down at Hikori who had caught the ball. He smiled, ruffling his spiky hair. “We’ll have to ask your mom if that’s okay.”
Hikori beamed, sprinting towards (Name). “Mama!”
She looked up from her laptop at her son, giving him a gentle smile. “What’s up, Hiki? Did you have fun with Kou-san?”
Hikori nodded excitedly, grabbing her hand slightly. “Can we go get ice cream?”
(Name) hesitated for a moment, checking her wrist before nodding. “Of course, Hiki. But don’t forget, we have to be home before Dad, okay?” He fist-pumps, nodding. She looked up at Bokuto who had come to stand beside her. “Know any good ice cream parlours around here?”
“Where are we going?” (Name) giggled, squeezing Bokuto’s hand. It was their first ever date.
“It’s a surprise!” He replied, grinning down at her. “Here we are!” They stop in front of an American-style vintage, the bright red contrasting sharply with the black and white checkers of the ground. Bokuto escorts her to one of the booths, letting her slide into the vinyl seat before sitting in the opposite seat.
“Wow, Kou, this place is so nice!” Her eyes widened as she took in the scenery.
“Welcome! Have you two been here before?”
They looked up to the waiter, (Name)’s eyes sparkling as she shook her head. “I haven’t, this is my first time.”
Bokuto smiled, playing with her fingers. “Awesome, well welcome! What can I get started for ya?”
“Can I get a birthday cake milkshake?” (Name) grinned.
“You most certainly can. And for you, sir?”
“Can I get a banana split please?”
“Got it, I’ll have that out for you in just a second.” The waiter left, leaving the couple to their own devices.
Bokuto stared awkwardly at her, playing with his fingers as he struggled to make conversation. Why was it so hard? They’ve been friends for so many years now. He opened his mouth, sucking in air to say something only to snap his mouth shut again.
“You’re acting so silly, Kou,” (Name) snorted. “It’s just me! Y’know, your best friend since first year?”
“I know but it’s different now!” He argued, crossing his arms as his bottom lip jutted out.
“Why? Because you decided to change the title from best friend to girlfriend?” Her expression softens. “Kou, it doesn’t change our relationship much. I mean, sure we can kiss and stuff now, but we’ve always held hands. We’ve always called each other late at night. We’ve always cuddled when we watch movies or stuff.” Her hands extend, gently pulling his clasped hands apart and holding them in hers. “You’re my best friend before you’re my boyfriend, Kou.”
“And here they are!” The waiter chose this time to return, placing the banana split between them and placing the milkshake in front of (Name). “Is there anything else I can help ya with today?”
“No, we’re fine,” (Name) smiled up at him. He nods at them before disappearing back behind the counter. She brings the milkshake closer to herself, taking a sip. Looking up, she sees Bokuto staring at her with his mouth slightly agape. “What is it?”
His cheeks glowed bright red as he shook his head. “Nothing, it’s just,” he shrugged, “you’re my best friend first too, (Nickname). Thanks for giving me a chance.”
She giggled, shaking her head now. “There’s nothing to thank there, Kou. I’m happy to see where this takes us.” Taking another sip, she grins. “This is so good!”
“Right?!” He perked up, scooping a bit of everything into his spoon. He carefully sliced a bit of the strawberry, chocolate, vanilla with the banana and various syrups into his spoon before bringing it to her lips.
(Name) opens her mouth slightly, only for Bokuto to panic and swipe the ice cream across her cheek. Her eyes widened as she stared between Bokuto, the spoon, and the banana split. They burst into laughter, the tension dispelled. Bokuto sighed, cheeks darkening. Opening his mouth to apologise, he was interrupted by (Name) swiping her finger into the whipped cream and dabbing it onto his nose.
“There! Now we’re even,” she grinned.
Bokuto threw his head back, laughing heartily. “Yeah, I guess we are.”
“Still the same flavour, (Nickname)?” Bokuto teased as she placed her order at the counter.
“Nothing wrong with getting a classic!” She retorted, sticking her tongue out at him. Bokuto chuckled as they watched Hikori choose his flavours.
“Mama?”
“Yes Hiki?”
“Can I please get sprinkles with mine?”
She gave him a fond smile, ruffling his hair. “Only this once. You aren’t allowed too many sweets, but since Kou-san is here, I’ll let it slide.”
Hikori mirrored her smile, though his was missing a tooth here and there. “You’re the best Mama!”
“I’m your only Mama,” (Name) chuckled, bending down and nuzzling into her son’s cheek.
“That’s why you’re the bestest one there is!”
Bokuto paid for their ice cream, handing Hikori’s cup to the child. “C’mon, let’s go sit down, yeah?”
They found themselves in the same booth that they always did back then. “God, I haven’t been here in years,” (Name) admitted, sipping her milkshake with a loud slurp. “I forgot how much I missed this.”
“Yeah.” Bokuto breathed out.
A comfortable silence settled over the two adults, nostalgia filling them as they reminisced on what was and what could have been. Beside Bokuto, Hikori was messily eating his ice cream. “Oh bubba, use a napkin.” (Name) pulled out some napkins, leaning forward to wipe Hikori’s cheeks of the ice cream.
“Thank you Mama.”
As they continued eating, he couldn’t help but to let his golden eyes trail over (Name). She looked so...happy. And healthy. Much happier than he ever remembered seeing her. The dimples of her eyes had the faintest trace of crows’ feet, probably from smiling too much. It was rare to see her without a smile, after all.
Looking behind (Name)’s head, he spotted a couple with their young daughter, also enjoying their ice cream. His heart clenched as the husband fed his wife a spoonful of his ice cream before they both turned to dote on their child.
He continued to zone out as they threw their trash away, making the walk back to Bokuto’s apartment where she had parked her car.
“This was nice,” (Name) looked over at Bokuto after she had helped Hikori into her car.
“Yeah.” He kicked the ground, staring at his feet.
“Hey, Kou?”
His heart drummed louder in his chest, head shooting up to meet her eyes. “Yes?”
“I wouldn’t mind if you wanted to be around more.” She tucked her hair behind her ear. “You have every right to get to know your son.”
His eyes brightened. “Really?” (Name) nods, giving him a soft smile. He wraps his arms around her waist, hugging her and swinging her around causing her to squeal. As he puts her down, he buries his face into her neck, taking in the all-too familiar scent. “That’s the best news I’ve heard all day,” he breathed.
****
“Are we still on for the play-date?” She heard Aya asked. The phone was on speaker as (Name) made dinner.
“Oh shoot,” (Name) groaned. “I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow. Do you think you could handle them both?”
Aya laughed, “girl, wasn’t Bokuto supposed to come or something? I’m sure the two of us can wrangle the little rascals.”
“Ah right.” (Name) face-palmed. She’d forgotten that she had invited Bokuto to Hikori and Aiko’s playdate tomorrow. “Yes, that should be fine.”
“What should be fine?” Kuroo came from behind her, pressing a kiss to her forehead. “Hey darling.”
“Heya handsome.”
“Alright, I’ll see you love-birds in a few weeks for Hiki’s birthday. See you at work tomorrow, dear!”
“See you, Aya.”
“Bye, Aya! Nice talking to ya,” Kuroo chuckled. The phone beeped as Aya hung up. He went around, tasting the zosui. “Mmhm, delicious as always, darling.” He stirred the rice-based soup, eyeing the mackerel in it excitedly.
“I’m sure if I didn’t know how to cook, I wouldn’t have been able to keep you,” (Name) joked, pushing him away. “Go set the table and get Hiki ready for dinner, will you?”
Kuroo wrapped his arms around her, capturing his lips with hers. “Only after you tell me what Aya wanted.”
(Name) rolled her eyes, tasting the steamed vegetables. “Hiki and Aiko have a play-date tomorrow, but I forgot I had that doctor’s appointment. Bokuto was supposed to come anyways, so she said it was fine if it was Bokuto and Hiki that went.”
“I see.” The ghost of a frown graced Kuroo’s face.
“What’s wrong?”
Kuroo shrugged, shaking his head. “Nothing. I’ll go get Hiki.”
He relinquished his grip on her, making his way towards the living room only for her to grab the bottom of his shirt. “Hey.” Kuroo turned to her, raising an eyebrow. “I’m your wife.”
He gave her a forced smile, tilting his head. “Obviously.”
She shook her head, rolling her eyes. “Don’t be silly. I’m your best friend and your wife. So you know that I know when you’re upset. And if we can’t talk to each other, we’re going to have some serious problems. So what’s going on in that head of yours?” (Name) stepped closer, wrapping her arms around her husband. “Talk to me.” She pressed a dainty kiss behind his ear.
Kuroo sighed, letting his hands settle on her hips. “You and Bokuto are hanging out again, huh?”
“Tetsu…”
He held a hand up, fingers brushing against her cheek. “I know it’s because of Hiki, and I know I don’t have a right to be jealous-”
“Don’t say that. You have every right to be jealous.” She blinked at him through guilty eyes. “I’m sorry for not talking to you about it beforehand. I should have communicated better with you.”
Kuroo chuckled, “just like how I should have communicated my worries to you.”
They stood together in silence for a few moments longer before Hikori came barreling into the kitchen. “Daddy!”
“Hey there kiddo!” Kuroo grinned. Hikori launched himself into Kuroo’s arms, causing Kuroo to stumble back at the sheer force of it. “Geez, you’re getting big now, aren’t you?” (Name) smiled as she watched her husband and son interact before turning back to her cooking. These past four years had been the happiest she’s ever been before. There was no way she’d let anything come in between her and Kuroo, let alone threaten his relationship with their son.
****
“Let’s go!” Bokuto cheered, beaming down at his son. He had picked up Aya, Hikori, and Aiko from Aya’s work-place. They really were fortunate to have an on-site daycare. He eyes the women, recognising her. “You’re Konoha’s wife!”
Aya rolled her eyes, “yes, I’m Konoha Aya. Pleasure to meet you, Bokuto. I’ve heard quite a bit about you from my husband.” Bokuto’s expression faltered at her eyes - they were cold in comparison to her voice. “Hiki, Ai, where do you two wanna go today?”
“Can we go to the park, Mama?” Aiko pleaded, fingers interlocked behind her back as she looked up with wide blue eyes.
“We most certainly can, sweetheart.” She ruffled Aiko’s hair. “But first, what do you two want for lunch?”
Hikori bounced on the balls of his feet, looking between Aiko and the adults. “Can we get Maccas?”
Aya smiled fondly at Hikori. “Only this once, ok?” She crouched down, placing her finger on her lips, “Your mom would kill me if she knew so it’ll be our little secret.”
“Okay Aya-san!”
The kids walked in front of them, intertwined hands swinging as they chatted. Aya walked beside the tall male.  Bokuto’s heart skipped a beat as he watched his son.
He bounced on the balls of his feet as he anxiously waited on her door-step. “Oh, hello Bokuto-kun. Are you here for (Name)?”
Bokuto nodded, smiling up at her mother. “Hello, (L.Name)-san. How are you doing?”
“I’m doing very well. Please, come in. (Name)’s just about finished getting ready.” Her mother stepped aside, letting the male step into the living room as a mischievous smile made its way onto her face. “In the meantime…” She guided him to the couch, gently pushing him to take a seat while pulling out a leather-bound book. “Would you like to see some photos of (Name) as a child?”
He grinned, nodding his head eagerly. “That’d be fantastic.” She hands him the book, patting his head before heading back to the kitchen with a wink.
Bokuto hummed, opening the book to the very first page to baby photos of his precious girlfriend. He cooed, comparing the photo of her on his lockscreen to her in the album as the years progressed. He flipped the page, finding photos of (Name) as a young school-girl. His golden eyes scanned down the page, his heart filling with warmth until he noticed the one at the very bottom. There were two children in the photo, their backs to the camera as they held hands walking down the street. There was no mistaking it. It was (Name) and Kuroo.
Bokuto’s eyebrows furrowed for a moment, thinking about how close they were to one another. After all, they were childhood friends if he remembered correctly.
A call of his name shook him out of his reverie, snapping the book shut to greet (e/c) eyes as (Name) was pulling on her jacket by the doorway. “Ready to go?” She asked, beaming.
He put the book to the side, forgetting everything except the girl in front of him. “Let’s go, baby.”
He cleared his throat, shaking his head. “What did you mean by that? Why would (Name) be upset with you?”
Aya chuckled, shaking her head. “It’s nothing serious. Ever since Hikori was born, she’s really tried to focus on ensuring that he’s following a nutritious diet.”
“Kou!”
Bokuto flinched, shoulders hunched forward as he looked up at his girlfriend before swallowing the mouthful of fries. “Yes, baby?”
“Are you eating McDonalds again?!” She frowned. “That’s the third time this week!” It was a Wednesday during their midterms week in their second year of college. (Name) had been busy at her internship and returned around 10 PM to find Bokuto lounging on the couch, his laptop on his stomach as he watched some show and bags of McDonalds at his side.
“I was hungry and lazy.” He shrugged. “It isn’t that bad.”
The corner of her mouth twitched before she pinched her nose with a long sigh. “Kou.” He flinched again, heart dropping at the weight of disappointment in her tone. “I love you very very, much. And it’s because I love you that I don’t want you to neglect taking care of yourself.” Her (e/c) orbs pierced his golden ones. “I will help you meal-prep if that’s what it takes, but you absolutely cannot be destroying your body by feeding it junk food. How are you going to be a professional player like this?”
He frowned, head hanging slightly. “Yeah, I know,” he muttered.
Her expression softened. “Let’s make something together, ok? Tomorrow. I’m off and we can just have a casual meal-prep session in the kitchen. How does that sound?” She leaned down, wrapping her arms around his shoulders before pressing her lips to his forehead.
“Sounds perfect, baby.”
He zoned back in, looking at Aya who hadn’t noticed his distracted expression. “She doesn’t mind if the kiddos get Maccas every once in a while, but I still like to treat them as much as possible. They’re kids, y’know? They should be able to live their life.”
“Is Hikori happy?” Bokuto’s eyebrows furrowed, chewing on his bottom lip. He wasn’t sure what answer he wanted to hear. Did he want to hear that his son was happy without his existence? Or did he want to hear that his son felt disconnected from his ‘father’ Kuroo and longed from someone else?
Aya threw her head back in laughter before she gazed at the two children with such warm kindness that Bokuto’s heart stuttered. “That is one of the happiest, most loved kids I know, Bokuto. (Name)’s heart would absolutely shatter if Hiki wasn’t.”
A weight dropped into his stomach as his gaze fell on his laughing son as Hikori swung his and Aiko’s intertwined hands higher and higher. “Yeah.” Bokuto muttered. “I know it would.”
*****
“C’mon, ‘Kori, it’s time to get you home.”
“Aww, do we have to Kou-san?” Hikori’s golden eyes shimmered as his bottom lip jutted out into a pout. “Can’t we play longer?”
Bokuto chuckled, ruffling Hikori’s hair and glancing over at Aya. “Sorry little man, we gotta get you home to your mom and dad.”
Aya squats down, opening her arms out in a hug. “It’s okay Hiki! You’ll see Aiko at daycare tomorrow, remember? You can play with each other then!”
Hikori gave her a hug, still pouting slightly before nodding. “Okay, Aya-san.”
Aya ruffled his hair, “that’s a good boy. Bye, Bokuto. We’ll see you sometime.” With one final wave, Aya and Aiko walked off towards her car.
“Did you have fun today, ‘Kori?” Bokuto asked, glancing in the rearview mirror as he drove his son home. Bokuto gulps.
His home.
The one he used to share with the person he wanted to call his wife.
The person who ended up mothering his kid without him.
“Yep! Thanks for coming, Kou-san.” Hikori kicked his legs, sat in the extra booster seat that (Name) had given him.
Since you’ll be around more, you might as well have one too, she had said.
Bokuto chuckled. “Of course, ‘Kori. Do you like hanging out with Aiko-chan?”
Hikori grinned, nodding. “She’s very pretty. Like a princess!”
“Is that so?” Bokuto smiled, amused. So his son had puppy love? “Did you tell her that?”
“All the time. Mama said the way to a woman’s heart is by being honest and truthful with her.”
His lip twitched, wanting to frown but Bokuto held it still. He gave Hikori a small smile. “Your mother is absolutely right. So make sure you’re always honest to the people you love, ok?”
They pulled up along the curb outside the all-too familiar house. “Thank you, Kou-san.”
“No problem, ‘Kori. Hopefully I’ll see you soon, okay?”
“Yes please! You still have to teach me how to do a jump-serve.”
Hikori climbed out of the car, waving at Bokuto before racing towards the front door. Kuroo opened it, greeting his son by ruffling his hair. Hazel eyes met gold as Kuroo gave Bokuto a stiff nod and wave that Bokuto returned.
Bokuto sat in his car, parked there for a moment longer as Kuroo snapped the door shut behind him.
How long had they been together? When scouring their social media, it was hard to differentiate the posts from when they had gotten into the relationship and the ones from before.
After all, even after that ‘subtle’ change, there weren’t many differences. They still posted the same types of selfies. They went on the same type of outings. They still teased each other like they had throughout his history of knowing them. Kuroo and (Name) had always been close, courtesy of their lifelong friendship.
Bokuto pulled away from the curb in front of their house, starting the journey home.
Dark thoughts clouded his thoughts. What if...the reason why (Name) had allowed Bokuto to go to Osaka was because she had been cheating with Kuroo all along? Maybe she had intentionally ghosted him in order to openly pursue her relationship with her best friend. What if she had been dating Kuroo all along and Bokuto was only a placebo partner?
He shook his head, banishing the thought. (Name) had always been a kind person, he reassured himself. She was always there for him, for the good and the bad. She had never given him a reason to doubt her when they were together, and he was not about to let these negative feelings tarnish whatever history they had together.
Bokuto let out a soft sigh. He had done that himself by letting her go and not trying harder.
Why hadn’t he just come back to Tokyo after being ignored?
Why didn’t he just pick up the phone and call her?
Over and over again, the word repeated.
Why wasn’t he good enough?
Why was she with Kuroo?
He snorted. At least that question was easy to answer. Kuroo was her best friend. Kuroo was always there whenever Bokuto couldn’t be. They brought out the best in one another and even Bokuto could admit that they seemed happiest with one another. It was absolutely no wonder why they were together. He parked outside his building, forehead falling against the rubber wheel.
Why had things gone so wrong?
BONUS
“Tetsu!”
“What?”
“Why the hell did you give me a hickey?!”
Kuroo snorts, looking over at his wife as she sat at the vanity, staring into the mirror at her reflection. “Oops?” He smirks. “Hand me that shirt, will you?”
She rolls her eyes, balling it up and throwing it at him. “I told you, no hickeys!” Her husband pulls the shirt on, walking towards her before his arms snaked around her waist. “How the hell am I supposed to explain this hickey?”
The door swung open. “Mom? Dad? Why are you calling for me?”
They blanch, looking at their son who was rubbing his eyes with a plush cat dragging against the ground held in one of his chubby hands. “Oh I’m sorry baby, did we wake you up?”
He nods sleepily, causing their hearts to soften. “C’mon, I’ll take you to bed,” Kuroo promises, releasing his wife and scooping up his son. (Name) throws an old college sweatshirt on before following. She leans against the door-frame, watching as her husband tucks Hikori into bed. Hikori rolls over, instantly falling asleep. Kuroo heads back over to her, a mischievous look on his face. “So I guess he likes being called Hiki?”
(Name) sends him a disgruntled look before huffing and marching right back down the hall to their bedroom. “I can’t believe I married you.”
Kuroo cackled, grinning as he called after her, “I love you too, sweetheart!”
FUN FACTS
💟 After Aya got pregnant and she got closer to (Name), (Name) told her about how she loved the name Aiko and Aya immediately fell in love with the name and begged (Name) to let her use it for her daughter if she were to have one
💟 (Name) loves Aiko as if Aiko was her own daughter, and Aya loves Hikori as if Hikori was her own son. The two families often vacation and plan things together
💟 Kuroo’s and (Name)’s relationship never came up in conversation at Fukurodani reunions and Bokuto had missed the Gym 3 reunions due to them occuring during his games
💟 Kuroo’s moral code made it so that he wanted his son involved with Bokuto in some facet of his life, even though he wasn’t personally ready to allow Bokuto into Hikori’s life - hence the plushie with Bokuto’s jersey
💟 Iwaizumi loves teaching Hikori and Aiko how to play volleyball - often offering to babysit whenever they have a chance to
💟 Konoha and Kuroo often joke that they’ll be related if their kids get married so they might as well get used to it now
💟 Rin often asks about (Name) at family gatherings, whining that he hadn’t seen her in so long.
💟 Bokuto never really thought about kids until he and (Name) had babysat his niece and nephew and he saw how great of a mother she was then
💟 Just like how (Name) and Bokuto would cuddle while watching movies, hold hands, and call each other late at night, Kuroo and (Name) had done those things together first
💟 When Bokuto agreed on “missing this”, he had meant his relationship with (Name). (Name), however, meant visiting the retro dessert diner.
💟 Both Kuroo and (Name) regretted not discussing Bokuto’s role in Hikori’s life  and their own emotions about it now that he was back and was aware of the truth.

💟 Seeing Aiko and Hikori together made Bokuto wonder whether or not Kuroo and (Name) had the same innate relationship and desire to be with one another
💟 Though Bokuto had always wanted to be an athlete, it was easier as a younger male to eat poorly. Ever since (Name) became more serious about his  diet and helped him learn how to track macronutrients and stuff, he took his own diet more seriously. To this day, he still uses some of her recipes.
💟 Bokuto prefers to call Hikori ‘Kori in order to be “different” from Kuroo and everyone else

“What took you so long?” Chan said as soon as Rei hurried down the steps of her school.
“Sorry.” She skidded to a stop in front of him. “I couldn’t find my rain coat.”
He looked up at the sky, which was getting pretty cloudy, and then back at her. “Where is it?”
“I didn’t find it.” Rei shrugged. “But you were waiting, so I tried to go fast.”
“Right. Well, let’s go.” He turned to walk away.
“Are we going home?” Rei asked, hurrying after him.
“The PC room.” He answered. “The guys are already there.”
When he said ‘the guys’, Rei knew that he didn’t mean the other trainees. He meant his friends from school. He hung out with them every Tuesday when he didn’t have training right after school, and had made no secret of the fact that he hated that he still had to take her along because it was also his job to walk her home from school.
Normally, Rei didn’t mind. She’d just get a computer in another part of the café and play computer games until Chan decided it was time to go home. But she’d forgotten her wallet that morning and Jeonghan had given her lunch money, so she didn’t have any extra to pay for the computer. And there was no way she was going to ask Chan for any.
The PC room was only a couple of subway stops away from her school, so she used the last of the money Jeonghan had given her to pay for the fare.
“I’m going over there.” Chan pointed to the far corner of the room. “Don’t wander off.”
“Okay.” Rei said, watching him as he walked away. She found a table in a section of the café she didn’t normally use, and started pulling out her school books. She was a bit behind on some of her math work, so she could use the time to catch up on that.
She wasn’t sure how long had passed, but it had started raining a while ago and the sun had set, when one of the employees came up to talk to her.
“Excuse me, miss.” The woman said kindly. “We’re closing now.”
“Oh!” Rei exclaimed, slamming her textbook shut. “I’ll just go get my friend and then we can-“
“I think you’re the only one left.” The woman smiled. “But you should hurry home, it’s pretty rainy out.”
Rei blinked, sure that she’d misheard. She put everything back into her backpack, walking towards the front door of the shop. The employees were turning off the lights, and she was, in fact, the only customer left.
Her heart dropped. Chan wouldn’t have left without her, right? She stepped out the front door, standing under the awning. It was raining, and her shoes were getting soaked just from the puddles on the ground. The rain was loud, blocking out the sounds of passing cars.
Her gaze settled on a coffee shop across the street, still with a few customers. She smiled. Chan had probably just gone there for a drink.
Hugging her backpack to her chest to protect it from the rain, she rushed across the road. She was soaked instantly and sighed in relief when she stepped through the doors of the coffee shop.
But a quick glance around revealed that Chan was nowhere to be found.
“Would you like a drink? We’re about to close.” The employee said to her.
“No, thank you.” Rei clutched her backpack closer, stepping back out into the rain.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~
 “Wow, it’s really raining out there.” Jihoon laughed as he stepped into the apartment.
“You’re telling me.” Jeonghan smiled. “Do you want some ramen? I’m on my second pot.”
“Yes, please. I don’t think I-“ His gaze fell on Chan, sitting on the couch with his books spread out in front of him. “Oh, you guys are home?”
“Yeah, about an hour ago.” Chan said, not looking up.
Jihoon shook his hair off, heading into the bedroom. But when he looked up at Rei’s bunk, he didn’t see her sitting there. She was always there, working on her homework until someone forced her to go to bed. But she wasn’t there, and neither was her backpack or any of her school things.
“Where’s Rei?” He asked, coming back into the living room.
Chan shrugged.
“They got home a while ago.” Seungcheol said, looking over from where he was folding towels. “Right?”
“Chan?” Jeonghan prompted.
“Hm?” He looked up from his book. “Oh, we didn’t come home together.”
“What?” Seungcheol dropped his towel. “What do you mean? I thought you guys went to the PC bar after school.”
“We did.” Chan nodded. “But the guys wanted to go for pizza and I couldn’t find her. I figured she went out.”
“And you didn’t think that finding her was more important than pizza?” Jeonghan exclaimed.
“She’s a big girl, she can take the subway home by herself.”
“She doesn’t have any money.” Jihoon picked her wallet up off the counter. “And she doesn’t have a cell phone. How is she supposed to get home?”
Chan eyes widened. “You mean?”
“Let’s go.” Seungcheol kicked off his slippers, going for his raincoat.
 ~~~~~~~~
Rei was soaked.
She wasn’t sure if she was shivering anymore, because her body had gone numb. Her backpack was still hugged tightly to her chest, but she doubted that it was still dry. Her blazer and skirt were plastered to her legs, and her shoes sloshed with every step.
She’d been walking for almost two hours, not that she had been able to check the time. She was pretty sure she was headed in the right direction, but honestly she didn’t know. She would have stopped to call – someone would have let her use their phone – but she didn’t have any of the boys’ number memorized. Which meant she had to just keep walking and hope she was heading towards home.
She saw someone sprint out onto the street in front of her, and instinctively flinched. Her walk home had been relatively incident free, aside from the cold that now had her teeth chattering to the point of being painful. But the person running down the street was coming right at her.
She glanced to the side, wondering if it would be smart to duck into the alley, when the person’s voice reached her over the rain.
“REI! Rei, is that you?”
“Chan?” She whispered, not sure if it was him.
He slammed into her, wrapping his arms around her. “Where have you been?”
“W…Wa-walking home.” She stuttered. “Where did you go?”
“I…We went…” He rubbed her shoulders.
All at once, it was too much for Rei, and she burst into tears. “You left me!”
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry.” He hugged her tightly. “I won’t ever do it again.”
“I’ve been walking for hours.” She sobbed.
“I know. Come on, we’ll get you home and warmed up.” He pulled off his own raincoat, wrapping it over her head.
“I’m….already…S-soaked.” She shivered.
“I’m so sorry.” He said again, keeping one arm around her shoulders as he started to lead her home.
Another figure appeared in front of them.
“Did you find her!” Jeonghan’s voice shouted.
“I’ve got her!” Chan confirmed.
When they got back to their house, Rei was forced to take a long, hot shower, while Seungcheol put her pajamas into the dryer. Still, when she finally emerged and sat down on the couch, there was a sniffle to her voice and a slight red tinge to her nose.
“You need to drink this.” Chan set a mug of soup down in front of her.
She took it, her hands still shaking.
Jeonghan smoothed her hair back. “You should have stopped somewhere. Or at least used your backpack to cover you.”
“I didn’t want my homework to get wet.” Rei took a sip, sighing as she started to warm up.
“I can’t believe you tried to walk all the way home.” Seungcheol scolded. “You could have gotten kidnapped.”
“I thought you’d be proud of me. I didn’t get lost.” Rei gave him a tiny smile.
“You shouldn’t have been out there in the first place.” Jihoon crossed his arms.
Chan sunk lower in his seat. “I’m sorry, okay. I feel bad enough.”
“She’s sick.” Jeonghan pointed out. “You can’t possibly feel worse than she does.”
“It’s okay. He didn’t want to take me for pizza. I should have-“
“You didn’t do anything wrong.” Seungcheol handed her a mug of tea, leaving her with two mugs. “And Chan will make it up to you.”
Chan nodded enthusiastically. “Next time I take you home from school…we can…we can go to a movie. Or we can go to one of those craft cafes you always want to visit. We’ll go wherever you want, my treat.”
Rei smiled. “There’s a shop that has an ice cream parlour in one half, and a bunch of kittens in the other.”
“We’ll go.” He promised. “And spend hours and hours there.”
Rei sneezed.
“And I’ll do your homework.” Chan reached for her books. They’d been placed out on the table, allowing them to dry. “All of it.”
“But you haven’t done yours yet.” She protested, wiping her nose on her sleeve.
“I’ll do yours first.” He insisted, opening the math book. “So you can go to bed and get better.”
Rei pouted slightly, looking at Jeonghan. “I think you guys are making him feel bad.”
“Good.” Jeonghan smiled, taking the soup mug out of her hand. “Take your tea to bed with you. We’ll get a heating pad to keep you warm.”
Rei nodded, standing up and stretching. The boys all filed out of the room, leaving her and Chan.
“Hey Chan?”
“Yeah?” He looked up, biting on the end of his pencil.
“I’m really not mad.” She promised. “I don’t even mind being sick. Maybe I won’t have to go to school tomorrow.”
He sighed. “Don’t try to make me feel better, okay? This is my fault, so just…let me try and fix it.”
“If that’s what you want.” She shrugged. “I’m going to bed.”
“Sweet dreams.” He smiled. “Stay home sick tomorrow, and I’ll bring you food after school.”
“Chicken?”
“Chicken.” He promised.
“Rei! Bed.” Jeonghan called.
“I’m going.” Rei winked at Chan, hurrying off to bed.

"Y/n?" Chan gently shook your shoulder. "Come on baby, you've got to wake up."
You peeled your eyes open, cheeks flushing as you noticed how close Chan's face was to yours.
"Good, you're awake. Listen...I've got to go to the airport and pick up my parents, and your mom was blowing up your phone just a few minutes ago." The corner of his lips twitched in amusement as your phone started vibrating. "Well, there she goes again. Sounds important, you should answer." He straightened up, handing you your phone and heading to the kitchen. "I’ll be making breakfast."
You smiled as he left, expression dropping as you answered your phone.
"Yes, mom...?"
"Oh! My baby! Thank god you answered, finally...I'm so sorry about last night, darling..."
"It's oka-"
"No it wasn't! I'm a terrible mother. I'm sorry, it's just, he was so hot, and I was super intoxicated. We're going to go on a second date! Whose place did you stay at, by the way? A boy answered the phone earlier." She asked, her tone dripping with suggestiveness. You could almost see her wiggling her eyebrows.
"Ew, gross, mom! He's just a friend." You said as Chan came back into the room with a plate of waffles, raising an eyebrow.
"Sure, darling, whatever you say. Although I'm certainly not opposed to you getting laid, it was long overdue anyw-"
"Haha okay, bye mom!" You cut the call, shuddering as Chan giggled, passing you the plate.
"Just a friend? Do friends kiss each other the way we did last night?"
"Shut up." You smiled, digging into your waffles.
***
You watched Chan's car leave as he left for the airport, standing there until he became a speck in the distance before turning around to enter your house.
You found your mom sitting on the couch...but this time, she wasn't passed out with drool running down her chin and clutching a bottle of beer- she was sitting with an odd sense of poise, wearing a pretty summer dress and a huge smile.
"Y/n! You're home! How was your night?" She grinned, winking. You narrowed your eyes, her cheerfulness catching you off guard. Your gaze drifted to the table, on which rested some plates and two empty wine glasses.
"Nowhere near as good as yours." You said pointedly, tearing your gaze away from the table as you moved to go upstairs.
Flopping on your bed, you scrolled through your text messages. Nothing new from Chan. You sighed, reminding yourself that there was probably no Wi-Fi at the airport.
Suddenly your phone dinged with a new text message. Oh. A response to your tutor ad. You'd put it up a long while ago and had honestly forgotten all about it. Well, you definitely needed the extra money. You replied affirmatively to the text and tossed your phone next to you on the mattress.
***
It had been a while since Chan had had dinner with the boys. The conversation was light, and he had missed his friends..however he found himself missing you more, despite having seen you that morning.
"Minho, I don't know how you get away with making out with her in the hallway. I can barely hold hands with my girlfriend without some teacher giving us detention-"
Chan looked up as Felix shoved Changbin's arm, making him stop mid-sentence. Changbin raised an eyebrow, realization dawning on him.
"Ah sorry, Chan. I didn't mean to rub it in."
"Seriously, though." Jisung rolled his eyes. "It's been weeks, and you aren't any closer to getting that book. I hate to say it bro, but I don't think Miyoung would want to be with you even if Minho breaks up with her."
Hyunjin nodded, glancing up from his phone. "I've noticed her and Y/n are really buddying it up. It's girl code not to date your friend's ex."
"Of course, you're the expert on girl code, Hyunjin."
A small squabble broke out and Chan wanted to slither onto the floor and just...stay there. He glared at his plate, deciding he’d had enough.
"Stop it!”
Jisung and Hyunjin stopped talking, staring at Chan in surprise.
"I will get that book soon. I love Miyoung, and I'll make sure she's mine, through any means possible. I don’t care about your opinions, so you guys can just shut the fuck up." He hated lying through his teeth, but there was no way he was going to tell these judgmental burdens he called his friends that he loved you- at least not yet.
Chan relished the silence as he continued eating, trying his best to ignore Minho's burning, inquisitive gaze directed right at him.
***
You sat in bed, clutching your blue book as you tapped your pencil, your head filled with thoughts of Chan. In all your 17 years of life, you'd never known what love felt like...but now you did. And as a result, you were completely consumed with the burning need to tell Chan exactly how you felt.
When you'd moved to this town, you really hadn't expected for it to one day feel like home. But it did, and you were sure it was all because of Chan. His presence somehow made you feel safe, and protected, and you hadn't felt this secure since your dad left you.
You wanted- no, you needed to know if Chan felt the same way about you. You pushed the self-doubt deep inside as you imagined telling him.
You turned red just thinking about it. Fuck it, you were too shy. You'd be a blubbering mess two words in.
Sighing, you looked back down at your book...when an idea struck in your head.
Uncapping your pen with your teeth, you placed the nib on the paper and inhaled, letting all your feelings flow out onto the page. It felt kind of cliché, writing a love letter like this, but you always did have a tendency to over-romanticize everything.
Besides; it was more of a love poem. Gah, was that worse? You hoped to god he wouldn't find it cheesy, especially since you'd bared your heart to him with these words. As you finished, your eyes ran over the last sentence.
"If you feel the same, please meet me behind the tree near the lake, where we had our first conversation, and where I started falling for you."
You shut the book and placed it on your bedside table, flicking the lamp off and rolling over. You nuzzled your pillow, your mind drifting to last night, the memory of Chan's lips and body pressed against yours still fresh.
***
It was a bit early to be having an ice cream date, but neither of you could honestly care less. As soon as you'd woken up in the morning, Chan had texted you to meet him at the ice cream parlour near his house.
"I can't believe you like salted caramel. Its such an old person flavor." He laughed, staring at you fondly.
"Like mint chocolate is any better." You rolled your eyes.
"Fine fine, let's just accept we have different tastes in ice cream."
You smiled. "That I can get on board with."
There was a comfortable silence as the two of you ate. You glanced up from time to time, your heart pounding as you psyched yourself up. Come on, this was the moment. You can do it, Y/n.
"Hey, Chan...?"
"Mm?" He asked, pausing with the spoon halfway to his mouth.
"Uh...are you free tonight?"
"Tonight? Oh, I'm playing soccer with the guys. You could come watch, though."
"Oh no, I have a tutoring appointment in the evening." You muttered.
Chan quirked his eyebrow. "Why'd you ask in the first place, then?"
"Uh, I just wanted to know. I mean-" You groaned, letting out an exasperated sigh. Bending down, you grabbed your bag from the floor and put it on your lap.
Confused, Chan watched as you pulled out your book, the book, swallowing. Slowly, you slid it over to him.
"I...what's this?" Chan asked as nonchalantly as he could, running a hand through his hair.
"It's...kind of my diary. I just-" you inhaled. "Look, I've bookmarked a page. When you go home- and please don't open it before then- read what I've written." You gulped, as Chan didn't make any move to take the book.
"Look, Y/n, I-"
"Please, just take it. Don't ask any questions." You looked down, trying to hide your flushed cheeks, trying to calm the beating of your heart.
Chan sighed, fingers reaching out and slowly curling over the book as he took it into his hands, tucking it into his pocket as you let yourself smile.
"Thank you."
***
Huh. This was definitely not what you'd been expecting. The house was a lot smaller than you'd imagined it to be, especially knowing how much you were charging.
You breathed in and came forward, knocking on the door and waiting. A few minutes later, a young girl opened it.
"Hi! Are you Dea?"
"How do you know that?" She asks, scrunching her nose, her hand gripping the handle tightly. "Mom says not to talk to strangers."
You shook your head quickly before she could close the door. "Sweetheart, I'm your tutor."
"Prove it."
You sighed, straightening and looking past her. "Is your mom here?"
The girl paused for a second before shaking her head, moving to slam the door closed, when a woman showed up from behind the corner.
"Oh good, it's the tutor!" The woman placed a hand on her daughter's shoulder, smiling at you. "Come in, Y/n. I've actually got someplace to be, but I'll be back in two hours. I assume you'll be done by then?"
"Yeah, most probably." You smiled and let her take you in, leading you to Dea's bedroom. The girl herself followed cautiously, and you found yourself a little amused.
"Right, this is her desk." The mom ran a hand through her hair, gesturing to the table. She glanced at her watch and swore, shooting you an apologetic glance.
"In sorry Y/n, I've got to get going soon- please focus on her maths, it's really bad. We'll discuss your fees and other logistics when I get back, okay?" She smiled at you, waving at her daughter before hurrying out the door.
You watched her leave, frowning slowly as she walked away. Something was niggling away at the back of your mind. Why did she look so familiar?
Turning back to the girl, you sighed inwardly at her knitted eyebrows and scowl. She was avoiding your stare, fiddling with her pencil and muttering under her breath.
This was going to be tough.
***
Minho sighed, watching Miyoung wave from the bleachers. Fuck, it was like she was physically incapable of giving him some fucking space.
He glanced over to Chan, clad in his uniform as he chugged water from the bottle Felix handed to him. When was this asshole going to get that fucking book? He couldn't stand having to date Miyoung any longer.
As the girl blew him an exaggerated kiss, Minho decided he had had enough. Needing to be alone, he turned around and went to the locker room. Just a moment to breathe, that was all he was asking for.
As Minho entered the cool, air-conditioned locker room, he let out a sigh of relief. He went over to sit one of the benches, planning to rest in solitude for just a few minutes... until he noticed Chan's clothing lying on one.
His shirt and jeans were carelessly strewn on the seat, and Minho narrowed his eyes as a flash of blue caught his eye, almost immediately.
Peeking out from the pocket was a very familiar looking little blue book.
He came closer, slowly pulling the book out and inspecting it. Could it be? The bastard had your book all along? Opening it, he flipped through the pages with a smirk slowly growing on his face. Yup, it was yours.
It was like the gods were smiling down on him, finally.

Blood red mist - Japer x reader
Hello everyone. Sorry for my long absence, life got in the way. But here you go, a jasper hale x reader pic thats been long overdue for @imyourapocalypse, there will be more parts but heres part 1! :)
“Guys, it’s okay, i’ll take her.”
The one sentence that you didn't think really meant anything, until it did.
——————————————————————————————————————————
Birds. Frikin birds. Normally you were one with nature, but not when it decided to wake you up as soon as the sun rose. You groaned and rolled over in bed mushing your face into the hard lump that was your fiancé. He snickered under his breath and stretched out next to you, rubbing a hand over your back, playing with your hair. You looked up and smiled at him, taking in his brilliance, his messy blonde hair glimmering in the sunlight, the beams from the early morning catching his face making him shimmer, his skin like diamonds.
“Morning cowboy.” He smiled back and pulled you into him, placing his nose in your hair, breathing in your scent.
You had met Jasper a few years ago now. You think back to when you watched the tall, pale, blonde haired man float through the school office while you were there to pick up copies of your recommendation letters. You'd been so startled and taken aback by his beauty and piercing amber eyes that your fingers shook and the manila folder you were holding slipped out of your hand and landed on the tiled floor with a dull thud. A classic scene from every cheesy rom-com you'd ever watched, only you didn't care, because as you leant down to pick up the folder in embarrassment, Jasper helped and as soon as you looked into his glowing eyes, you knew fate was a real thing.
Since then you'd been with the Cullen’s through almost everything, well, not with them in person some of the times. You'd been accepted to University across the country and missed most of the recent drama that surrounded the Cullen family and Bella Swan, but having recently graduated you were back now and you couldn't be happier, neither could Jasper.
At first you weren't sure if you liked Bella, you were a few years older, and weren't one for drama, in the beginning you didn't click, however, overtime when you had a holiday or came to visit the Cullen’s you grew closer and closer and were practically best friends. You could relate to one another… both human (Well, not Bella anymore) both in love with good-looking Vampires.
You were still away at University when Bella was changed, due to come back only a few days after. Jasper had been filling you in on everything that had been happening, and you face timed with Bella every day until the change happened. You'd got back and were instantly kept away from your friend, only glimpsing her still, frozen form through the smeared glass of the Cullen’s make shift infirmary. Jasper assured you it was for your own safety, his Major side was out in full force, his mind floating back to the time he trained New Borns with Maria. He knew how destructive they could be, what little willpower and resistance they had and he constantly worried for your safety.
You'd managed though. Survived through it all, somehow unscathed, the meeting with the Volturi, which…. you weren't actually there for, again. Something you weren't involved in. If it had been Bella she would have been brought along but Jasper was protective on another level, dominant. You could never win a fight with Jas, his need to protect you and your bond too strong to fight.
Now it was just another day. The Volturi were gone, the other vamps, the family friend had all gone too, now it was just you and the Cullen’s, you and your mate. You smiled to yourself. Finally, the first day things can start going back to normal.
-A few hours later -
You were laughing at something Rosalie had said while cupping a mug of hot coffee in both of your chilly hands. The air outside was frosty, the remnants of winter lingering. Rose had been talking about some girl who'd tried flirting with Emmett in the local convenience store.. lets just say if looks could kill, that poor girl would either be a New Born or dead.
Bella and Edward joined you in the Kitchen, even without vampire hearing you could make out what they were saying. Jacob, as much as he wanted to, couldn't come over to look after Nessie, He had pack duties and so now Bella was saying she couldn't join the family hunt. You smiled and coughed a little. Both looked at you, unaware you and Rose were sitting across the room.
“Guys I’ll be here, I can look after Ness.. I know you wanted to get her some school supplies Bells, I know the perfect shop in town I could take her to and then we could get some food! Have a girls date.” You smiled, your teeth sparkling against your slightly chapped, rose red lips.
“What’s this about a girls date.” The southern accent made your skin tingle and before you could turn around Jasper was already behind you pressing a kiss to the sweet spot on your neck, you sighed and leaned back against him.
“Y/N is taking Renesmee into town for some shopping and food while we all go hunting this afternoon.” Bella smiles at you gratefully but you feel Jasper tense behind you. You watched as Edward rolled his eyes and gave you a small smile, obviously listening to Jaspers loud thoughts.
“Darlin, I don't know if I like the idea of the two of you being without one of us..” You were next in line to roll your eyes, turning to look at your fiancé, you took his hand and kissed his knuckles.
“Jas, were only going to town, we will do a little shopping for school supplies get some food, the human kind, and then before you know it i’ll be calling you to come pick us up again!”
You stood up off the stool and kissed his cheek, slipping out of the room away from Jasper before the Major could disagree, It was decided. The vamps would do the vampy hunty stuff, and the Human and hybrid would look for cute fluffy pencils and sparkly backpacks.
———————————————————————————————————————————
It was just after Christmas, the air was frigid and frost still nipped at both your noses as you skipped down the steps of the restaurant. The snow had finally cleared, but still no signs of green life in the town of Port Angeles. Somehow Nessie had persuaded you into getting ice cream even though it was the middle of January. Bags in one hand, Nessie’s gloved hand in the other, you walked side by side back to your car a few streets over from the parlour. It was oddly quiet, but then remembered there was some sort of celebration going on near the dock, the reason you hadn't seen anyone on the walk back to the car park. You had parked where you normally did, the same car park behind the book store Edward had once saved Bella in.
You could see it, your silver BMW under the single street light, bathed in a warm glow. A belated graduation present from your family. You smiled and thought of Jasper. Wondering how they were getting on at the hunt. Just as you were about to reach for your phone you heard a twig snap at the edge of the trees. Then a swoosh, something passed your eyes in a flash. Something wasn't right.
Your phone started to buzz in your pocket.
You stopped. Nessie stopped. Something didn't feel right. Your smile faded, somewhere in the distance you could hear a scream, but then realised it had come from right beside you, You slowly turned to look at Renesmee, fear on her little face. You were confused, until you felt it. Your stomach felt warm, hot almost, only one part of it, then all of it at once, flashing burning pain.
You sank to your knees, the bags in your hands dropped with a dull thud and the contents slipped out onto the wet asphalt. Nessie was staring at you in shock, you looked down and choked as you watched the silver handle of the knife, wedged in your body, bob up and down in time with the rhythm of your laboured breathing. Your phone was still ringing, the sound a fuzzy noise somewhere floating in your scrambled thoughts. In the distance your were sure you heard a howl. They were too far away. You grabbed Renesmee’s hand, giving it a squeeze, you were crying, a red haze seemed to float around you both, like raw energy flickering in the night sky.
“Nessie look at m-me, don't be scared.” You sobbed, you were dying, you could feel your energy fading, the red haze around you seemed to get brighter. “Nessie, it’s okay, shhh.” You were trying to calm her down, your hand still clutching her small one. Your eyes were flickering.
“Nessie, my phone, can you get my phone.” You weakly pointed to your blood soaked pocket. She seemed frozen, unable to move, then something clicked inside her. She grabbed it answering the frantic caller on the other end.
“Uncle Jas, Uncle Jas there’s so much blood.” Nessie cried. Jasper. Your eyes were getting heavier, you could hear Jaspers frantic voice on the other end. Suddenly you felt the phone pressed against your ear, it felt like your could hear the sound of your blood rushing around your body.
“Jas-jasper,” You were crying harder, the man you loved frantic on the other end. “I love you Jas, I love yo-you.” You couldn't hear what he was saying, not really, the pain taking over, the darkness creeping closer and closer, the red haze getting brighter. You were dying, and everyone was too far away to save you.
Rose’s P.O.V.
The hunt had been a successful one. We hadn't been able to hunt as a family for a long time, always something popping up meaning people would have to stay behind. Jasper was on edge, everyone could tell, obviously thinking too much about Y/N, his mate. We didn't really blame him, we all know how it feels when it comes to the care of your Bloodsinger.
We had all finished up, just getting back to our cars when Bella’s phone rings. Jacobs name flashing across the screen, Bella answered still laughing at something Emmett had said, but her tone changed instantly. Everyone could hear the conversation. Jake sometimes freaked out about the whereabouts of Nessie, but this time it was different. Something was wrong.
“Bella! Wheres Renesmee and Y/N?! Something is wrong, Nessie is in trouble, our bond, I can feel it she's scared, really scared, I'm going to find them now!”
We all looked at each other and then to Jasper, he was staring at Alice, who had fear and an absent look in her eyes.
“Y/N’s hurt.” If i wasn't already dead my heart would have stopped. All of us were at our cars in a flash, quicker to get to Port Angeles by car than running. Jasper had his phone pressed to his ear, no doubt trying frantically to call his mate. She was answering, Jasper was banging his fists against the dashboard, anger and fear radiating off his pale skin.
“C’mon darlin pick up pick up.” Pain and worry in his voice. The phone is answered.
“Uncle Jas, Uncle Jas, there’s so much blood!” Everyone could hear Renesmee crying on the other end of the phone, then it seemed like the world stopped. Y/N’s weak voice whispered through the receiver.
“Jas-Jasper.” She was crying, if vampires could cry, we all would be too. “Jasper, I love you.” The line went dead just as we reached the “Welcome to Port Angeles sign.” Alice had seen where they were and it didn't take a detective to figure out where Y/N would have parked.
We just all hoped we would get there before it was too late.
