I've refused to use Discord for years. Ever since I found out how pernicious it is about persistent cookie storage in both your ordinary cookie area and your LocalStorage (which has to be cleared by special Javascript commands or an extension specifically written do do this), I've just outright not signed into it.

So co-signed on bringing back web forums! Especially if you're skeptical about Reddit as well thanks to the IPO.

I like to think that pre canon both AFO and Izuku visited the same online forums where people came together to discuss quirks and often debated with each other about pro hero quirks lol. Their first conversation ever was arguing over aspects of All Mights quirk because AFO said something insulting about him.

Izuku finds AFO abrasive, but creates some of the most fascinating analysis he's ever read that he wonders if AFO is some kind of quirk counselor or doctor who specializes in studying quirks in real life.

AFO finds it refreshing to see someone share the same enthusiasm about quirks like he does and enjoys reading and challenging Izuku's own theories at times.

I wouldn't call it friendship.... but more like two people finding common ground in sharing a hobby that almost no one else cares for.

If I were doing a Marvel timeline reboot thing, I would do the bait-and-switch of introducing Mysterio as a member of the superhero community in good standing- abeit one with a Booster-Gold air of loveable skeeviness to him- and then I would drop a bunch of red-herring hints implying he's a massive traitor in the usual manner, none of which would ever pan out. And then I would do the big finish for the whole continuity, I mean whatever the A-plot is, and it would just never seriously involve Mysterio outside of crowd shots, leaving the audience hanging in perpetuity as to whether the untwist was that he was seriously a hero for real this time around, or whether this is just what it looks like from the outside when he perpetuates a major long-term con of some kind successfully.
