Week (1)9 Update

Things are really ramping up with the curational aspect, and I admit it has meant my project has taken a bit of the backburner as a result. However, I have currently made quite a few sketches in the background to feed into the generator, so that I may curate around half of them to feed back into the dataset. My goal is to have that 50/50 generator model finished, then have the full "ouroboros" model in line for week 10, so that I may have time to fix any kinks I find with the generator.

But despite of that, the great thing about this project is the unpredictable and imperfect nature. When considering machine learning and AI in general, we tend to think of reducing biases and ensuring a diverse dataset for general purposes--but that's the great thing about art: there is no true correct answer. As such, in the chaotic and volatile state that exists due to having a dataset of training around ~50 artworks, change is a lot more visible. It's truly a neat, chaotic, and expressive exploration at a small scale that opens the door of possibility. I hope in the next update, be it for the next week, or later this week, that you all can observe the next model in the process!

This last week was crazy, the snow is so bad here that my arthritis medication didnt make it here. I went three days without it.. Oof. 

I have been doing my weekly studies but until today, my hands hurt too bad to type. 

Wednesday, while volunteering, i got to sit in on a spiritual wellness support group. I was worried at first since it was going to be christian based but I ended up having a wonderful time talking theology and myth with the group and discussing what spiritual health means. 

As with most things in my life, the tarot cards and my thoughts from the homework seemed to reflect what we talked about in the group. Which was moderation, and that I need to prioritize my time. Mainly, with social media. I dont spend as much time doing what I love. I know part of this is because some days, even getting dressed is hard, because of pain, fatigue or anxiety/depression, that Facebook is an easy way to disassociate from what is happening. But so is audio-books, documentaries, or music. 

This got me thinking about the dedicant oath, and how in order to really fulfill that, I need moderation. So to make more time to meditate, read History of Pagan Europe and do the necessary homework. That first step is to completely cut out facebook for the month of March, because at this point its a habit and not one that I enjoy. 

As for the meditation this week, I feel more and more that daily sketches are the way to go. Its the only time when my mind is completely clear. I can spend hours sketching and not even notice the time passing. It calms me and something I am just now realizing, that two powers meditation, and breathing mediation that is not movement based, makes me disassociate (thanks PTSD). I think that calming energy is what i really need from meditation.

Came to the big city for a 2 day music ting @norpowersummit and day 1 did not disappoint. So much talent! I 💗🎶🎵🎼 so much and the amazing people that create it! I was not able to get a workout in before we hit the road so had to wait to get in a late late night sweat sesh in. Week 19.19 weekvlog Heerlijke Happen

Terug van vakantie en hopla vol aan de slag! En komende tijd is het wederom weer meer hollen dan stilstaan. Er komt zo ontzettend veel leuks aan... Jullie kunnen dus genoeg gaan zien de komende weken. Maar eerst nog even het verslag van de week 19.19 weekvlog Heerlijke Happen! Met als hoogtepunt een BBQ in het zonnetje in Brabant. https://youtu.be/e0tDlVxD95E Week 19.19 weekvlog Heerlijke Happen De week startte al goed met het event van mede-blogster Jadis van The Lemon Kitchen. Zij kookte heerlijke gerechtjes voor ons met citroen in de hoofdrol. Dat is echt háár ding namelijk. Ze weet overal een frisse toevoeging aan te geven. Tijdens het event heb ik heel veel stories op Instagram gemaakt, die hebben jullie daar allemaal al kunnen zien.

Bij het event van Le Creuset, Myra, Jadis, ik en Luuk. Marketing Op vrijdag was het in de auto "on the road again" naar Hulst. Dat ligt nogal uit de buurt en dus een flinke autorit. Maar wat een prachtig filiaal is dat geworden. Samen met Chantal hebben we een hoop mooie foto's geschoten die we gaan gebruiken voor de sociale media van de Keuken Kampioen. En natuurlijk hadden we onze wekelijkse bespreking.

Een heerlijk "zooitje ongeregeld" in de huifkar tijdens de BBQ MeatUp BBQ, butchers, bier... Dat klinkt wel heel ruig en dat was het ook wel een klein beetje hoor! Zaterdag kwamen we bij elkaar in St Oedenrode. Ik mocht van boer Leon weer een event organiseren. Zo verzamelde ik een leuke club van rond de 15 bbq'ers bij elkaar en kregen zij een fantastische dag op de boerderij. Hoogtepunt was natuurlijk het uitbenen, de mannen mochten zelf aan de slag om hun van te voren gereserveerde stukje vlees zelf te snijden. Over deze dag komt nog een uitgebreide blog.
