Another big difference between tumblr and other social medias is the impact of your follower count. On other platforms, follower numbers are king. And while having a lot of followers on tumblr will inevitably increase your post visibility, it is not a formula of “20% of my followers will engage per post” or whatever.

For example, I have less than 200 followers. I routinely get 1k+ notes on my original posts - mostly fandom and other bullshit - and my most popular post is at 23k. I’m not trying to say that my content is the bomb dot com, I post nonsense that tickles my pickle, but the number of followers is honestly not a contributor to my enjoyment of this site.

Well hello there, Twitter refugees.

My name is Starry Does Stuff, I stream on Twitch and draw fanart. I came to Tumblr at the start of this year after leaving Instagram as I found the app no longer fun and just terrible for artists. There WAS an attempt to return to InstaHell but that only lasted two months, I only just purged it again and I regret nothing. The only thing I do regret is leaving behind my friend, I do miss my friend. But maybe it’s time to move on, and there is nothing I can do about it ; - ;

Okay bit of a rant... But I feel like people who "ghoulkeep" (yes there are some people who legit do this lmao) are so ridiculous because they either a) just spitefully don't watch the show b) just don't pay attention c) are the most boring, no fun having mfs or d) all of the above

On the topic of Cooper "not looking like a ghoul enough", have you considered that he didn't become a ghoul/decay at the same rate or manner as the ghouls you're used to.

Besides being mutilated by someone else, he also might've been introduced to ghoulification at a more "controlled" way (kinda like John Hancock) thus making him less "juicy". I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case because (on top of just details in general), they've done a cool thing where they showcased all kinds of imagery of ghouls in the show, enforcing the idea that not every ghoul reacted to the radiation the exact same way.

Anyway, my point is it's one thing to be like "haha Cooper is the less extreme case of ghouls to be thirsting over", but to straight be like "NO you guys are FAKE ghoul lovers" 🙄 Like what are we doing, y'all.

Edit: also yes I do know they went into huge consideration into making him more attractive (the creative team and Walton have confirmed this), but it doesn't negate my points (also they wanted it to be easier for Walton to just act/exist with all that stuff on him for hours on end). Even if they're not the case, WHO CARES. More ghoul havers, the better! ALSO ALSO we have the other ghoul characters who exist for a reason! Having one does not immediately erase the other. WE CAN HAVE IT ALL!! FOOD FOR EVERYONE!!!

Tips for Night Vale newbies:

If you're starting from the beginning, PLEASE don't skip ep 19 The Sandstorm B. Listen to part A and B back to back if possible.

If you like The Weather, I highly recommend looking up the artist. This is how I've found some of my favorite indie artists. (Mary Epworth especially)

Also, I know it's probably habit to skip through the credits, I urge you to at least listen to the proverb at the end of each ep. Things that make me cackle/ snort with laughter. Meg Bashwiner (married to one of the writers, and voice of Deb, the sentient patch of haze) is a fucking treasure.

There are plenty of places to start, not many wrong choices. (Ep 25, eps 45-50, 70A/B, 86-90, 98-100, 114-130, 135-137, 153-158) DONT start on these eps. Most other starting points are fair game.
