tokyo ghoul: *takes an extended drag* all the roads lead back here. listen. ishida sui is a master the man is a god what can i say he is like leonardo da vinci 2 me. he is Better than leonardo da vinci 2 me. the serendipity of me being into tg during a very formative time in my art journey (right when i was making the transition into creating my own content) meant that a lot of tg influence ended up kind of bleeding into my work pun intended. Ishida's way of doing eyes n faces is so unbelievably expressive plus the scratchiness of his lines combined w the soft n rounded way he does facial features... thts not even mentioning his coloured works god theyre entrancing i adORE how everything looks like a mix of watercolour and almost . layered tissue paper?? like it's sharp n translucent n angular but everything looks so soft...how he manages to make something look so sharp but so smudged at the same time is witchcraft it looks like smth out of a dream it looks like coloured ink seeping into fabric it looks like fogged stained glass,,, ishida sui my king u will always be famous 2 me

jjk: this feels like a no-brainer but i have 2 talk about it i'll b hunted for sport if i don't talk about how much of an absolute slut i am fr gege's art style. i wld bet real money tht me getting into jjk was part of what solidified my love for the Sharp Angular look that i tend to implement into my own stuff bc gege does it !! SO well!!!! not only does it make his fight scenes look super dynamic but i Also think it lends really well to all of the character designs like. holds up megumi this boy is triangles on rectangles not a fuckin curve in SIGHT . its not just megumi either!!! his shape language fr the entire fucking cast is to die for i want to rub my face against it like a cat. also ive gushed abt it in regards to yuuji specifically bc i think he's the best example but gege's expressions also are so goddamn GOOD the eyes hold so much emotion...so much anguish n weight n he's so good at conveying that battle-crazed psychopathic thousand yard stare.....nothing but murderous intent behind those eyes n it looks incredible every ! fucking ! time!!!!! i love the way he does eyes so much it's a shame he keeps tearing them out of his character's skulls

HI HELLO JANE!!!!! sorry this took awhile to get around to answering i wrote all the text and told myself i was gonna draw pictures for these and then i got distracted because i wanted to draw. other pictures instead :,D BUT without further ado !!

face: Describe your OC's face. What's their smile like? Are their orbs cerulean? What would someone notice first when looking at them?

i don't trust my writing skills enough to write a description. their face:

i talked a little bit abt their facial features in this ask, but yeah, the Bee Stuff is definitely what people notice first. yarrow's modification was an experimental one, so while most people are kinda used to seeing humods with fur on their faces or weird ears or maybe horns and whatnot, invertebrate features are rare and jarring. this does cause issues when you're trying to be discreet, so yarrow tries their best to wear bandanas or masks. even pre-modification they actually wear something to the effect of a bandana or surgical mask often; partially because They Are A Doctor and also because they live in a mining town that doesn't give a shit about how much dust is kicked up from the open-pit mining

pre-modification i'm not sure what people would notice first; they have a few small defining features like their dimples, yellow-gold eyes, straight teeth, patchy facial hair, and mole on their right cheek, but overall nothing out of the ordinary. i think it's less features people notice, and a general impression of openess? he's quick to smile, talkative, and expressive, so people usually feel like they can approach him

motion: How does your OC move? How does their clothing help or hinder their range of motion? Are they flexible, coordinated, clumsy?

having trained in martial arts for most of her life, serena's very coordinated and flexible! she also has a muscular stature and she can make herself very difficult to move if she doesn't want to. she's aware of her size and generally has a slouch to her posture and walks with a bit of a trudge and lope if that makes sense? she has enough control though to where she can move almost freakishly quiet and it scares people on occasion

ofc she doesn't wear clothes, but she does have her prosthesis!

she's got both an everyday and a sport prosthesis, so while her movement isn't necessarily affected by that, she's less willing to run or do anything intense if she just has her everyday prosthesis on (that's the one i draw, i need to look more into sport prostheses for humans and adapt a design from there)

bc she's a congenital amputee, the only real adjustment she's had to do irt her leg is adapting to a new prosthesis every few years, so she has a solid sense of moving with or without it on. i've been trying to determine if she has smthin like an adapted wheelchair as well, but since dragons are quadrupeds and she's only missing part of a limb, it may not be necessary when she also has her tail and wings to help counterbalance during movement...? there's also the factor that she doesn't have a lot of money, so regardless of what she has to assist her, it's not always top-quality and she's learned to live with a certain level of discomfort and pain

speaking of wings, flying is something dragons can do, but it's a lot like running where most ppl can't do it for longer periods of time unless they train. it's not as necessary in modern society, so most dragons can fly for short bursts if needed/for fun. with the exception of a few who do things like, idk fly to work, most rely on transit bc it's easier. serena's ability to fly is Okay, she's accumulated some damage to her wings over the years (side effect of martial arts where other people have claws and horns), which makes her less aerodynamic and more easily tired out. she's got a good handle on her body and how it moves, so she's actually pretty graceful in the air and not aware of that fact at all. overall, she prefers not to fly, but still maintains a healthy habit of working out those muscles so they don't atrophy, which is a thing that happens with modern dragons.

saying wrench is grimm's favorite accessory is actually a stretch bc it loathes wearing it, but adores wrench as a companion but if we are purely talking abt clothing here, grimm's not the sentimental sort, so it doesn't hold on to things once they're to worn nor does it worry about wearing things out. which is the boring answer

wrench is only worn as armor a handful of times in-story and in dire circumstances (that i. have not quite figured out yet <3). grimm fucking hates wearing it, hates the way it takes them back to their past, hates the way it doesn't quite fit their body anymore and hurts if they wear it too long, hates why they even have to wear it, but it's protection and a weapon in one, and they don't have many options.

i talked abt wrench a little bit when you asked abt it here, but wrench is both an artifact of grimm's past and a dear friend. as an animal companion/robot grimm does maintain wrench to an extent and it's a good dog that doesn't age like normal animals, they have a close pet/owner bond. when it comes to "wearing" it, transforming (so to speak) doesn't cause any wear and tear on wrench itself, since that is one of the purposes it was built for, but the situations in which grimm would don wrench may result in damage and there's also an element of wanting to keep wrench safe. aside from being armor, wrench can also do stuff like jam signals for short periods of time and sense heat signatures, so it does have an interest in preserving wrench for its own work and safety as well, but it's also a pet, yknow?

post-story i'm p sure grimm and yarrow would get something equivalent to married. yarrow's the romantic and the one to suggest it ofc, but grimm's like "hell, if i'm going to symbolically tie their life to someone else's it wouldn't be anyone but yarrow" and whatever sort of wedding band/necklace/wearable symbol they choose would become grimm's favorite, esp since it represents a version of themself they like being

last year i wrote a list of media that touched me. bcs i have shit for memory i was noting down things i watched, played etc. this year. so here's the list.

the city and the city by china miéville - loved it...

the longing - idle game that felt quite promising in the beginning. you play as a lonely shade that has to wait 400 days for his king to wake up. it can get kinda weird and idk how i feel about this anymore.

rain dogs - extremely bleak life circumstances, intense toxic friendship. 'fast food isn't good for you. but i fucking love it'

deadwood - very intriguing way of plotting a story of a settlement but some things abt were fucking stupid and i'm still frustrated when i think abt it. haven't finished the final season and i don't really feel like it.

vanished birds <- read this or else

dungeon meshi - most beautiful art with dynamically drawn creatures and beasts that then get shown being cooked into delicious (and nutricious!) meals in great detail. setting is a spoof of a stereotypical party adventure world but it tries to make sense of its rules and creates in turn something quite unique. great characters too.

wuthering heights - extremely good narrative device. never knew that we learn this story through a tale being told by a servant to some cringey guy. surprisingly well depicted psychology of the characters. reading abt child abuse upset me so bad. society will fuck you up. some ways to better your lot are closed to you based on your gender and race. fucking up people over generations. also moors. they're important.

ghost in the shell

barry - the fact that the show never lets him forget. the satire on show biz, loving the veterans. it's like a more clownish version of breaking bad in a way (both being concerned with morality). characters are caritaturish but everything they do is taken extremely seriously. also it's quite inventive with filmography. solid. loved it.

sangfielle - weird fiction arc of FaTT podcast.. extremely good setting

andor - they didn't lie when they said star wars can be good. abt opression and imperialism.. and droids done well.

repo man - plotted in a very fun way... unforgettable ending.

hellraiser - it was so promising. shouldn't have turned into tense rubic cube solving under most dire circumstances ever imo.

bg3 - the themes have made me insane. it managed to be cohesive. it's the. carousel of violence. cycle of abuse. relationship with power. trusting the other not to use violence against (even though they could). male manipulators. the dark urge. it's not without its faults and it should have been tighter (durge should be the main protag and no tav, chop down act 1, erase halsin)

the terror - such a mixed bag. a very good and tense thriller about imperialistic hubris but. they put a beast there. and the villain was??? idk man.

iasip (well technically i've been trying to watch it for years, but this year alone i watched like 4 seasons or maybe more) - i simply love iasip. its style of comedy that is irreverent. the mad schemes. awful dynamics. touching real darkness.

blowback (podcast) - about american imperialism. first season abt iraq war tone-wise feels like if behind the bastards and citations needed had a baby. recommended.

roadwarden - loved it. loved the setting!

anyway... i kinda stopped reading books after i quit my job (no longer commuting somewhere regularly so i stopped using my kindle). had plans to watch more movies but it's always a struggle to sit down and start watching. went to more than 0 galleries but not that many tbh. i sometimes don't know what to say and most of my comments are still pretty general and feel trite.

i feel like camila and lilith's Dynamic(tm) would only serve to make things worse were cam to introduce lilith to her mom tbh. like YES ur kid is no longer a nun. YES she blew up the vatican. Isobel prides herself on being an understanding woman. She really is. But this.

Well it’s a lot to take in at once.

Firstly of all, Camila, her dear sweet Camila, is back. This one is unsurprising, Camila hadn’t been back since the day she left. But Isobel knew she’d always come home eventually, even after she started on in that secret convent that none of them were supposed to know about. (The events at the Vatican, while unbelievable were pretty hard to hide. Nobody else could spot Camila directly, but once Isobel had seen the footage she knew, she just knew, that it was her little girl shooting from afar and, once, right at the smug bastard’s head. Always her fathers daughter, that one.)

The second thing is a bit more surprising. Camila has brought someone back with her. The other woman (not a nun) is nearly too tall to fit through the door of Isobel’s tiny apartment. Lilith is, despite her somewhat frightening appearance, ridiculously polite. Her manners are something straight out of an etiquette manual, and not at all something that matches with the woman’s scarred face or tattooed arms, but appearances can be deceiving. Isobel watches as she pulls out Camila’s chair for her and intertwines their fingers together when they think she’s not watching. The shock of Camila having broken her vows makes slightly more sense now.

That third thing (between Camila and Lilith) is fairly surprising at first but the longer the night goes and the more Isobel sees, the less surprising it gets. There’s the little things, the chair being pulled out, the polite deference, but then Camila’s tugging the other woman around the apartment by her wrist, showing off family photos, and Lilith isn’t complaining in the slightest. She’s smiling slightly, just a little thing, but it lights up her whole face.

She tries to give them privacy but her apartment is small, she can't help but catch the muttered conversation.

"You were such a cute kid." Lilith whispers.

"I bet you were too!" Camila enthusiastically replies. She reaches behind her and almost absentmindedly taps the other woman's cheek. "You can't tell me you've always had this jawline."

"Oh I uh," Lilith looks down, pressing a kiss into the crown of Camila's head when she thinks she's being sneaky, "I don't have many pictures of me as a kid, mother always said they were a waste of time. We have the family portraits but little else."

Isobel resolves to dig out her old camera, something that they can use to make a memory together.

Later, as they're leaving:

“You have a lovely home, ma’am.” Lilith says, kindly offering out her hand as they go to leave.

“Oh don’t ma’am me, I’m not that old.” Isobel goes to draw Lilith in for a hug and for a moment thinks that she’s made a grave mistake, Lilith is taut as a bowstring underneath her hands. But then she relaxes and returns the hug, albeit tentatively, and Isobel has to fight to keep the smile off her face.

“My apologies ma—Isobel.” Lilith says.

Camila takes her attention next, and into their hug Isobel mutters “She’s not too hard on the eyes, is she?”

Camila pulls back with a scandalized grin. “Ma!”

Isobel shrugs. “As long as you’re happy, you’ll find no judgment from me, child.”

“Happier than I’ve ever been.” Camila says softly, eyes darting to the taller woman trying desperately to seem like she’s not listening in.

And in the end, that’s all there is to understand, really.

- august invited over bo leach, bodhi nadalin, and some person that didnt have a name but looked like el hanley to play some orgy game, aug was acting kind of weird the whole time and ended up going to bed. the vibes were very off and nameless chick dipped but i talked to bo and bodhi for a while, was trying to figure out if they were together or not. ended up making out with bodhi (felt v nice) and afterward he said a bunch of stuff about how he was glad we saw each other again and that he lives close and wants to hang out again soon. we were still living w/ aj somehow and they had a bunch of random ppl over i remember thinking i was glad i could prove i had other friends by having different ppl over even if they werent really. they were leaving and the other ppl were partying in the living room area and someone ended up giving me a drink so i sat down and hung out a little. it was this really tasty thick deep red cherry-cranberry vodka thing with a ball of hollow ice that had a little hole you could drink more beverage out of it from.

- dk if this was a continuation of the last one or not but walking through the city w a group of girls, being sort of dressed up everyone had on very avant garde fashion (one of them was cheyenne from water st? i dont remember the rest) and we ended up going to this art gallery that was all hallways with various forks in the road. got separated from half the group because they were basically sprinting through and not looking at anything. everything felt like it was moving very fast. came to another fork but on one side was this exhibit area w raised padded flooring and people sitting all around and a sign that said 'puppy naptime.' and. well. it was puppy naptime. there were a bunch of them and phoibe and mama kitty (not bean) were there also sleeping very sweetly and i was worried i would get in trouble for bringing my cats to puppy naptime. i saw a different very small very sleepy black and white dappled kitten and pet her a little bit. was no longer worried bc obv i was not the only one who brought cat. noticed this girl who had a necklace with a bunch of moss and a live snail on it and talked to her abt it and she said it was her pet and he just liked to sleep there too.

- again not sure if at all related but walking through these very bright almost uncanny paved suburban streets w you and coming across a house where you started telling me a story abt how you used to hang out with some boy there and the mom was wack and you would work on some sort of project that required these sharps and one day you accidentally brought some out with you and they (the parents) noticed and yelled at you and you were like little and scared of getting in trouble so you like ran back crying and put them back and were apologizing and then couldnt go back and hang out again. watching this memory play out in the driveway like a phantom in front of us. in present time next to the car in the foliage there were a bunch of varied types of blades and you said something along the lines of 'they feel awesome, btw' and there was one in particular i really wanted to take but we noticed that the people from the house were actually sitting in the car. left and walked the other way around the block to see if theyd leave, just sort of eavesdropped on them from around the corner. along the way there were various blades on the ground and in the little grass strips in front of driveways and i kept picking them up trying to see if they were sharp or new but they all were really flimsy or dull or covered in a weird waxy substances. you said something like 'my skin is thinner so you should just cut me instead' and it made me upset but i wasnt trying to show it and i said some upsetting shit i dont remember and you were like 'jesus christ, what the fuck' and got v distant didnt leave but sort of like hung back and did smth else. heard some sort of commotion from the people and saw the guy yelling at this fluffy, scrawny cat being like 'i hate that fuckin cat' and it ran over to us and i pet him and he was v malnourished and had fleas and scrapes and i felt v sad for him

- Really dont remember this one but some girl inviting us to go rock climbing and it was just this tiny room that was not even very tall and she was actively putting the rock wall together by just. nailing the holds into drywall in no particular order. no gear, no ropes. i was pissed. i remember yelling at her but i dont remember what i said

Okay I put this in the tags if another post last night but deleted it bc it wasn't actually the place and I'm gonna share my thoughts but might not even tag this idk.

Re: that post abt the trc fandom disappearing post greywaren

First: I like a lot of the dreamer trilogy. I pretty well liked greywaren. I'm not as attached to either as I am to trc, but I did genuinely enjoy them.

Second: I am a trc fandom baby. I am a fandom INFANT. I got into these books about 3 weeks before Greywaren came out, and got to Greywaren about 3 weeks after it came out.

Third: They ate my brain for 3 months. I read TRC twice in the space of two weeks, then TDT, with greywaren specifically twice in a row. I then followed with Scorpio Races and All the Crooked Saints. I genuinely coukdnt read anything not Stiefvater for THREE MONTHS bc my brain was like "this is where the dopamine lives, nowhere else".

Third: I also read a fair amount of Maggie's blog and her thoughts about the series, including the notes that came out right after Greywaren was published. I've read 11 of her books. I own the writing seminar she put together and have watched about half of it just to listen to her talk. I like her art a lot and think her music is neat. I am Not Normal about Maggie Stiefvater.

So. Given the givens, my thoughts. The post I saw was the one going around about how the fandom died after Greywaren came out. I can't really speak to this bc I couldnt look at the tags until I finished Greywaren. So I only really know the fandom post-Greywaren. TRC is what brought me back to tumblr tho, after probably 4 years of only casually being interested in what was happening over here. I needed people to yell with and I found them here.

What I can speak to and apparently cannot prevent myself from speaking to is a lot of the notes on that post. There was a lot of talk of her being bored with the series, of wishing she had taken more time, of feeling betrayed by it not being the series she wanted/she had promised.

I am in many ways a Stiefvater apologist. I am. Yeah, she was probably kind of bored with the series. She was overwhelmed. It was 7 books and 10 years, and she was tired. She's stated that she's never going to write a series again. She's over the whole concept. Series are hard, the final book in a series is especially hard. I think we can look at George RR Martin and Patrick Rothfuss for truth there.

And maybe it feels as tho she should have gone the way of those 2. Not finishing the story, or putting it odd for longer to get it right. But a- I feel like that actually would have sucked more and gotten her more shit, and b- I have a feeling it wasn't an option given her contracts. And taking more time was probably not an option given her contracts. She had signed on for 3 books, possibly within a timespan, and three books she had to give them.

As go "this wasn't the Ronan series she promised" and "I hated the universe/big pieces of thr plot", we go back to the scholastic contracts. They didn't let her write the story she wanted. She had different titles she wanted, there was a whole different plot and vibe. The fucking Moderators weren't her idea. And yeah this comes directly from her statement post greywaren publishing, where she still had to be careful and still needed to sell books, but personally I believe her. If you've ever listened to her talk about writing, you know she has specific stories she wants to tell. Stories that matter to her and feel important. She'll make concessions based on marketability or what she believes the audience would like more, but she wants to tell a specific story. And she didn't get to do that with TDT and I think it pissed her off more than she let on.

I also think it's pretty fucking clear she isn't super happy with Greywaren. She literally nailed a copy of it to the wall. Like pounded a handmade wrought iron nail through a hardback copy of the book and then put it on the wall in her study. She was soooo fucking done. And it might feel like a betrayal of her readers and the series to be tired of the series and to give us a book that feels tired of and annoyed with the series, but she's a person as well as an author. She has opinions and desires and things she does and doesn't want to be doing. And for the sake on contracts, commitments, and not disappointing readers, she kept writing books she maybe didn't care about anymore. There's enough neurodivergence in the fandom that the difficult nature of that should make sense, right?

I saw at least one person say they aren't going to get any more of her books, and like obviously that's a choice you get to make, it feels like a shitty one. Personally I'm pretty excited to see what she does next. She's apparently working on a fairly long adult novel that's got her excited again. I love reading stuff written by people who are excited to be writing it, so I think this none is gonna be a good time. But idk, her writing style just makes my brain go brrrr.

Also i don't know how relevant is to the point I'm making but I still need to say it:

Idk how many people know/remember/consider that 2 of these seven books were written and published while she was like. Actively dying. Or suffering from a condition that was pretty damn close to killing her. TRK and CDTH were written in the fucking height of her symptoms while no one was paying attention and getting a dx was really fucking hard. She talked about putting a lot of her experience with illness into Ronan, and Addison's is a disease of lack of energy and sleeping too much and missing a lot of your own life because of it. And maybe thats why Greywaren felt right to her, and maybe that's why TRK and CDTH feel different to the books before and after them. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it all and my hyperempathy is getting the better of me.

yeah i’ve had other ppl online tell me off before bc i had a bunch of fourteen to sixteen year old friends at eighteen. i get where they’re coming from with all the grooming stuff and shit, but i was just genuinly friends with them 😭 like. i’m normal about my thirteen year old brother too?? we are very close and i could easily have the same fandom discussions with him. obviously i’d never do anything weird around minors??? you should definitely tell off people doing that but attacking adults solely for being friends/talking to minors when the conversations are all normal & the adult hasn’t done anything.. feels wrong to me. like if you can’t bring up any arguements, what’s the point? why tell me ‘‘omg you’re 18 stop interacting with a 14 year old!!’’ when the fourteen year old knows abt my age and actually approached me first 😭 idk there’s so much stupid age discourse. done with the topic now i’m tired of age discourse but i had to get it out of my system for once ajfjgjjsh

also, the world view thing definitely is a v personal thing. i’ve been in a class where most of my grade was pretty conservative and simply by talking to someone a grade above already helped a lot because they were more liberal lol. i think how much difference it can make is interesting ngl

it’s definitely her fav holiday! i’ve heard of white day too but i don’t know much bc it isn’t celebrated here at all. tbh the only reason i kinda care abt it a tiny little bit is the official white day art we get in the genshin fandom lmao. she’s always been excited abt valentine’s day but yeah now she’s even happier <3 her gf & her are really cute together so i’m very happy for them! i’ve also known both of them for a few years, so i knew them before & when they got together, and i know that they both love each other lots :3

Snippets from the bbieal comic script

So, as I started to work on this comic, I needed to create a script to make sure I wouldn't get off track nor make it longer than I was capable of completing for the release of BBCR! So i just wanna share some comments + snippets from it under cut. This focuses primarily on the script, rather than the finished product, but i don't mind going over any questions ppl have abt it!

Around the script, Baldi actually had some dialogue where he tends to elongate some words he says, based on smth I noticed in sm of his dialogue. Maybe I'll bring it back smday

The original sketch wasn't formatted how it was, but I edited it! Also because I thought Playtime should be allowed to ramble bc she deserves to. Btw Mommy, Daddy, and Bubby are Substitute Teacher, Principal of the Thing/Vance, and It's a Bully!

Originally, this section didn't have any dialogue, but as I sketched it out, I wanted to add more to it! Also

I so badly wanted to leave this into the comic. SOOOO badly. But I wanted to keep the script a lil semi-serious, so I just left it at Banana

Originally, Bully AND Arts were gonna be in the detention center together, due to them fighting w each other (Bully stealing Arts' notebook or using a plastic spider on them)

With this in mind, alternatively, Arts was gonna win the battle, and then turn to you, murderous intent, because you had one notebook! What I'm saying is that Arts fucking charges at you while Baldi + Vance duke it out

I was torn between making this part a comic page or a video, but because I didn't really feel like making a page for zoom-ins (that's literally the only reason i think. so sorry), I did a recording instead. I used Baldi's Basics Plus for free-roam, since I felt Baldi's Basics Classic didn't (i believe it doesn't?? Not until BBCR). Alternatively, I was planning on using a Baldi's roblox game for it, but I couldn't find a good one with free-roam. Realizing I could've possibly used one of those RP games in a priv server, but it ain't the same...

I also needed to find a place to put 1st Prize in! When I was plotting this script in my head, I was thinking of Baldi going in different classrooms, and you'd see Arts and/or 1st Prize, and he'd introduce them, but... that felt too lackluster(?) also i'm very biased w playtime so sorry (/lighthearted)

If I were to remake this comic in the future, I'd like to record the video using the free-roam in BBCR, but also Principal would fucking get me for running all around the place. Also hoping i'd be better at editing by then! (man who uses clipchamp)

btw i was so fucking sure 1st prize says he loves you in game. but apparently he doesn't?? that makes me sad. some time i'll go find the program his tts voice is from and make him say yippee

Speaking of the end of this video, there wasn't gonna be a bite sound effect at the end, but I love sound effects. There was going to be a fnaf minigame end transition as well, but I had already gotten enough viruses downloading the music for the video (/lh)

In the alternative route, where Bully + Arts were too busy wrestling for Arts to charge at you, and Vance + Baldi were fighting too, you would've just exited the office and headed to Baldi's office (bc Baldi tells you that you can wait at his office until he's done beating the SHIT out of Vance). 1st Prize would've bumped into you around here!

Fun fact! This dialogue was actually subject to change, based on how early I finished the comic pages, as I was kinda working tandem, with the script being ahead. I wasn't sure I was gonna finish the friend pages on the same page or not, but if I knew, I would've had Null be like "Oh- you're right on time!"

Here is Null's drafted script! There would've been static around it, just like in the comic. Also Null never apologized here because this was on the "arts didn't go after you" path. Anyways I'm so glad none of us downloaded the game and played it. Right guys. And that if we did download it, we deleted it? Guys? Haha? (man who had spent 4 episodes trying to get to null and failing)

oh yeah he was gonna cover your screen with static, but I wanted to use the banana I always had downloaded. I don't remember why I have it downloaded. please help. Also i wanted to use the gaster fade sound effect

Now, we'll dive a bit into the finished product for this- when I had first written this out, Friend wasn't gonna be fucking around with the comic borders, but then I realized it's extremely in-character for him to do so!

Talk abt endgame daphne 👁 I read ur post abt it way back but i would like more esp since i am a huge sucker for corruption arcs bc they’re so rare esp for ”nice” characters

hey did u know that i love u and ur the backbone of this fandom? bc u are. and i’m not just saying that bc ur willfully subjecting urself to more of my awful writing

as always i managed to make this six times longer than it needed to be so ✂️✂️✂️

She definitely doesn’t start out bad. Daphne’s parents were loving, and they raised her to be kind. Also an expert weaponsmith, diplomat, speaker of six languages, dancer, portrait artist, doting big sister, and patriot. She spends the first 20ish years of her life as not just the crown princess of the most fertile planet in the universe, but basically a fleshbound demigoddess, keeper of the greatest power in all of creation, responsible for taking the entire magic dimension into Domino’s fold

It’s a responsibility she gives her life for. Daphne’s last act is to save the two things most precious to her in the world: her infant sister, and Domino’s legacy. Obviously there’s no time to consciously think about what that will mean for Bloom, but on some level Daphne believes their empire will be restored. The dragon flame will manifest again, somewhere in the multiverse, and Bloom will claim her birthright and take up conquering in her free time

When she starts talking to Bloom as a curse ghost, that fantasy isn’t immediately shattered. It takes nearly a year for her to start understanding who Daphne even is, and another year to develop a modicum of control over the flame. Disappointing, but understandable. Daphne is more than content to talk to her baby sister in the brief moments they have, to guide her and see her growth. Her anxiety slowly fades, which is good, a ruler should be confident, and she shows great interest in her heritage, also good. She’s sweet and determined and has their mother’s fiery hair and their father’s blazing blue eyes, and Daphne aches with love and pride

That pride is compounded when Bloom finds a way to break her curse. No longer a demigoddess, but back in the world of the living, Daphne starts to piece together more of what happened to their world. Domino is long dead, the planet itself a frozen husk, and nymphs haven’t ruled the cosmos in millennia. Her glorious culture is long forgotten, the weapon that she forged in the hands of a lesser princess. And sure, she likes Stella, both as an individual and for Bloom’s sake, but she’s not fit to rule. Aisha is more serious and studious, but she has no ancestral power, Flora is a commoner with ideas above her station, Musa seems to disapprove of monarchy in general, and Tecna? Unempathetic, steely, no connection whatsoever with nature, she’s a disgrace to fairies. They, and the entire magic dimension, need a strong hand to guide them 

Another year passes, and Bloom’s power is growing by the day. She has admirable control over the flame, given the time she’s had to train, and she has strength, confidence and verve. Daphne starts teaching her to forge the way their mother did, glowing hands against glowing steel, as well as the fighting styles of Domino. She tells her about how their planet came to be. How the Great Dragon created the planets, and that Domino was its final masterpiece and resting place, giving rise to their civilization, youngest but greatest, and their people, chosen and favored. Bloom learns all of Domino’s cultural dances, the fashion, the food (ok, the food that Daphne can remember, she never set foot in a kitchen in her life) the religion and art and music, the conquests

Bloom... doesn’t share Daphne’s feelings about Solaria gaining its independence from Domic occupation, but she does ask Stella about ‘repatriating’ the spear. It doesn’t go over well. Increasingly frustrated with Bloom’s apathy to the state of the magic dimension with no one to guide it, Daphne starts searching for ways to sow life on their shattered planet once again. This, at least, Bloom seems amicable to, which is good because using the dragon flame is the only way they’ll have a prayer, and in the meantime they both start looking for lost flame artifacts like the spear of Solaria. People without knowledge of the dragon flame aren’t fit to wield it, after all

The winx’s Quest Of The Season becomes finding those artifacts, but for the first time, Stella finds it difficult to support her best friend. She has no interest in returning her spear to the people who tried to overthrow her planet, and she’s pretty sure nobody else will want to either, but the first couple artifacts they find are long lost or forgotten, not in anybody’s hand, so it’s fine, I guess? (note to self maybe the dragon flame artifacts in question wind up being conveniently thematic to each of the winx and they can wield them later? or maybe bloom forges weapons for all of them)

The artifacts get harder to find, and some of them... the winx aren’t comfortable with what it takes to get them

For a while Bloom defends her sister. She loves her, she wants her planet, their planet back, their culture, the stories that enchanted her, she wants them all made flesh again. But Daphne keeps pushing for the spear, and some of the things she says... she can tell Flora is getting sick of it, and Aisha and Tecna don’t leave their feelings up to guesswork. After a blowout fight with Musa about Daphne’s sense of superiority and disregard for the autonomy of others, Bloom is at the end of her rope. Stella isn’t interested in fielding her shit anymore. If this endeavor is to go any further, it will happen over the corpse of their friendship

Bloom confronts her sister with her decision. They can restore Domino without stealing from people, surely without repeating their forebears mistakes-

And that’s the moment Daphne starts to wonder if she made a grave mistake. The dragon flame is a matter of divine right, in all of recorded history it was never given, only inherited by the firstborn. At the time it seemed like the only option to pass it on, but was she wrong? She’s spent the past four years trying to convince Bloom of her birthright, but it’s not hers. Bloom’s reticence only further proves that she is little better than a usurper

She has to find a way to take back the flame.

At this point Bloom will never relinquish it to her, because she knows what she’ll use it for, but Daphne is confident the flame will return to her if she proves herself. If she reclaims her title as a nymph, if she takes the magic dimension back into hand, surely the flame will come back to its true master

Bloom returns to the winx, heartbroken and ashamed, and has to finally lay her past to rest. Letting go is the only way she can protect the magic dimension
