Besides being an artist, I’m a health nut and real food advocate, as well as a holistic health practitioner. When people ask me about how to eat to be, get, or stay healthy, I often tell them to think about their great grandparents or ancestors and how they would eat and/or prepare food. I mention this, because I recently came upon an old photo of a couple working in their garden, which reminded me of how I envision my great grandparents grew their food, as I suspect many did in years past. It is not everyday I can eat EVERYTHING that is offered at a gathering. Let’s just say that I was stuffed. It was like heaven. @SallyFallonMorell from @WestonAPrice presented wisdom from her #NourishingTraditions book at the Topanga Community Center. It was wonderful meeting her and giving her a signed copy of my book which she endorsed when I first wrote it. I received a signed copy of her book. Guess what?!? She invited me to be on her next podcast sharing my observations of what #Centenarians around the world consume. 😀🙏Centenarians are people who live over a 100 with longevity and vitality. The event was masterfully orgazined and catered by @HilaryBoynton @LiveyumYum aka the “lunch Lady” at the @Manzanitaedu and @CharlesBarth aka “Chuck” the fierce and fearless leader of @SlowFoodVenturaCounty. It was #FarmToTable at its best with locally grown, harvested and produced foods. This grocery haul came to £94 🇬🇧 💷 This is a tight budget shop!!!! For us. We could eat boxes of fresh fruit & vegetables. Here is 40 items, fruits, vegetables, Flesh protein, nuts, dry goods, oats, grains, fats and salad fruits & vegetables. Check my story for some wild looking passion fruit. I went over budget by £9 which makes a huge difference!! No Cheese!!! No cheese!!!! But got some good butter & cream. So all good!! Made it through another week!! Kids growing strong. Life is good.
