Suffering separates and dissociates; like a centrifugal force it pulls you away from the center of life, the hub of the universe where all things tend toward unity. [ . . . ] Disjunction from the world through suffering leads to excessive interiorization and, paradoxically, to such a high level of consciousness that the world, with all its splendors and glooms, becomes exterior and transcendent. Thus deeply sundered from the world, so irredeemably lonely, how can we forget anything? We want to forget only what made us suffer. However, through some cruel and paradoxical twist, memories vanish when we want to remember but fix themselves permanently in the mind when we want to forget.

The original Fallout had one group of raiders. That was the name the game map gave to them - 'Raiders' - but they were in fact known as the Khans. They were a relatively minor faction, being tied to quests in the first town the player is likely to visit, but we learn a lot about them in their brief appearance.
Many of the Khans are given names and dialogue, and will tell the player about their history - including how they came from the same place as the people of Shady Sands, Vault 15, and feel entitled to share in the town's wealth. Some see their raiding life as a way to claim control of the post-war world - ruling through strength and fear, believing that old ideas of morality died with the rest of the world. Others treat it as just another job - they support their group by trading, maintaining equipment, preparing food, and other everyday tasks.
In short, the Khans are a fully-realised community, as much a part of the story as any other. We learn that their brutal leader, Garl Death-Hand, took command after killing his abusive father. The player can kill him, or negotiate with him, or impress him with acts of cruelty, or even challenge his nihilistic views by convincing him that they're his father, back from the dead. Killing Garl and destroying his compound is treated as the best choice for the region as a whole, and is confirmed to have happened in the next game in the series, but it's certainly not the only option.
Fallout 2 has two groups of raiders. One - again marked 'Raiders' on the map - turn out not to be raiders at all, in that they're not attacking towns to steal their wealth. Instead, they're a mercenary company, hired by a disreputable businessman from one town (New Reno) on behalf of another town (Shady Sands again, now the capital of the New California Republic) to harass a third town (Vault City) to convince them that they need outside help in maintaining their defences. It's part of the game's major subplot about the three societies competing for control of northern California and western Nevada.
The other group are the New Khans, founded by Garl's son Darion after the original Khans' defeat. These Khans aren't nearly so fearsome as their predecessors - they mostly operate in secret, hiding behind a group of squatters who have moved into the ruins of Vault 15 and pretending to help them restore it for use. Darion is wracked with resentment over what happened to his father's crew and guilt for having survived, and his gang ultimately present little real threat to the outside world.
What I'm getting at here is that, in the world of Fallout as it existed in those early games, 'raiders' were not a major factor. There was one group who conducted raids as part of their regular economic activity, but only against particular communities - Shady Sands saw them as raiders, but to the Hub, they were just traders. Raiders only existed in a particular context - they had particular interests, beliefs and opportunities that would not always be possible or applicable.
Most of the games' conflict came not from the existence of raiders but from bilateral political and economic competition between groups with overlapping but not identical interests, which was reflected in their respective ideologies. We see this in Killian and Gizmo fighting to control the future of Junktown, and in the Master's attempt to reshape the world with the Unity while the different groups of New California try to retain their independence.
We particularly see it in Fallout 2, with its three-way battle for economic domination between the constitutional democracy of the New California Republic, the mafia-ruled narco-state of New Reno, and the elitist technocratic slave state of Vault City. Which of these groups continue to rule and expand, and which crumble, is what ultimately shapes the region's future - with control of Redding and its gold supply as the linchpin.
While the Enclave are the story's primary antagonists, they're chiefly characterised by their refusal to engage with this new socio-economic order - they believe that all outside authorities are illegitimate, and all outsiders non-human, and their only plan is to release a bioweapon into the atmosphere and kill literally everyone on Earth but themselves. The Enclave's defeat is necessary for New California's survival, but, otherwise, they change very little about how people live their lives. They're like Darion's New Khans on a larger scale - relics of a fallen order, robbed of their purpose, hiding in an old bunker and driven by nothing but resentment of having been left behind.
I might, in future, talk about the contrasting depiction of raiders in Fallouts 3, 4 and 76, and about New Vegas's use of raider and bandit groups like the Khans, the Legion, the Fiends and the White Legs. For now, I think I've made my point - that raiders are not a fact of life but a product of a particular place and time, and much less relevant to the universe of Fallout than other forms of competition and violence.

A week had passed since Y/n began her role as the protector of the princes, and with each day, the castle had become a second home to her. The towering stone walls echoed with laughter and camaraderie, but beneath the surface of daily life lay a constant tension— a feeling she couldn’t shake. It nestled deep in her gut, a warning that whispered of impending danger. She had learned long ago to trust her instincts; they had kept her alive through countless encounters, and this time would be no different.
Y/n shadowed the princes through their daily duties, each one more vibrant and charismatic than the last. Hongjoong, with his admirable confidence, led with a charisma that drew people to him. Seonghwa was the more calm and calculating one, his sharp mind always considering the implications of their actions. Yunho was the gentle mediator, while Yeosang and San brought energy and lightheartedness to the group. Mingi and Wooyoung's banter was infectious, and Jongho remained the steady protector of his brothers.
But as they navigated their royal obligations, Y/n couldn’t help but feel like everything had been going too smooth. The princes, unaware of her lurking anxiousness, engaged in friendly competitions and playful debates, but she remained vigilant, her eyes scanning the surroundings, always alert for signs of trouble.
The day passed in a blur of meetings and laughter, but Y/n’s unease grew as night descended. After dinner, she returned to her quarters, pouring over plans to fortify the palace’s defenses. She studied the maps, noting the weak points in the castle’s layout—those areas where shadows lingered too long, where escape routes were not clearly marked.
The library would be a vital place to secure; it was a hub of knowledge and strategy. She jotted down ideas, her mind racing as she considered various threats. Just as she finalized her notes, a distant commotion broke the serene atmosphere of the castle.
Her heart dropped. The feeling in her gut intensified, urging her to act. Y/n grabbed her dagger, not wasting time strapping it to her side and rushing out of her room, her senses heightened and her heart racing with adrenaline. Her grip on the hilt of her blade turned her knuckles white.
As Y/n sprinted through the dimly lit hallways, she could hear the muffled sounds of laughter and discussion from the library. The princes had chosen to stay up late, discussing matters of the castle and how their day had gone.
Bursting into the library, Y/n was met with an unexpected sight— Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho were gathered around a table piled high with books, Mingi and Wooyoung were on the floor, seemingly tussling with each other as San and Yunho cheered them on as the other four watched, well except Yeosang who had his nose in a book. The atmosphere shifted instantly as Y/n’s arrival interrupted their fun.
“Is everything alright? I heard a commotion.” she demanded, her voice sharp and authoritative as she stalked closer, vigilantly checking the library, startling the princes who had just been messing around with each other. No danger in sight.
Seonghwa glanced up, confusion clouding his features. “We were just talking and messing around, Viper. We—”
But before he could finish, the air in the room shifted, a chilling presence that sent shivers down Y/n’s spine. A sudden, loud crash echoed through the library, and the heavy wooden doors burst open, revealing a group of masked assailants, each one brandishing weapons that gleamed menacingly in the flickering candlelight. It seemed that there were around ten of them, but Y/n couldn’t be sure if there were anymore that were waiting to show themselves and attack.
“Get down!” Y/n shouted, instinctively pushing Seonghwa and the others to the floor as she drew her dagger, her heart pounding in her chest.
The attack was swift and brutal. The intruders moved like shadows, their faces obscured, their intentions clear. Y/n fought against the rising tide of panic, focusing on the immediate danger before her.
With one powerful thrust, she plunged her dagger into the chest of the nearest attacker, the blade slicing through flesh with a sickening squelch. He fell to the ground, eyes wide in shock, as she spun to face another assailant.
“Stay close!” Y/n shouted to the princes, her voice cutting through the chaos. “We need to regroup!” Y/n didn’t want them to get involved in the fight, however she was far too outnumbered to be able to take them all on by herself. She would have to trust the small bits and pieces she taught them during training would stick and that they’d use it.
The room erupted in chaos as the princes scrambled to their feet, instinctively grabbing nearby objects to defend themselves. Mingi and Wooyoung teamed up, their playful banter from earlier replaced by a fierce determination to protect their brothers. They fought with raw energy, dodging strikes and countering with their own, but the masked attackers were relentless.
Y/n ducked beneath a swinging sword, narrowly avoiding a blow aimed at her head. She retaliated with a swift kick to the man’s stomach, sending the attacker stumbling backward. Just as she gained the upper hand, another assailant lunged at her from the side, a wicked knife glinting in the dim light.
In a split second, she reacted, disarming him with a fluid motion and driving her dagger into his side, twisting the blade as blood poured out onto her hand and the library floor, spraying her clothes with the thick crimson. The man gasped, a sound that echoed in the library before he collapsed to the floor, lifeless.
Y/n fought her way toward the princes, her heart racing as she checked on each of them. Seonghwa was holding his own against two attackers, his movements precise and calculated. Yunho struggled to fend off another assailant who was much bulkier than him, and Y/n rushed to his side, dispatching the enemy with a swift slice of her dagger across his neck from behind, the blood that rushed from the wound soaking Yunho’s clothes. Y/n would have felt bad about ruining his clothes if she weren’t moving onto her next target.
“Stay together!” she urged, glancing over her shoulder to see San and Yeosang battling their own attackers.
With her instincts guiding her, Y/n moved fluidly through the chaos, dispatching attackers one by one. She felt a surge of adrenaline, a primal instinct to protect those whose lives she had been charged with. Each life she took felt justified in the heat of the moment, but a part of her grimaced at the violence. Despite all the years of bloodshed she had caused, every drop she had spilled, she had never truly delighted in the feeling of the red liquid.
As she turned to assist Hongjoong, she saw him pinned against a wall by two attackers. Immediate anger and worry surged through her as she charged forward, a pang of fear shooting through her chest,Y/n tackled one of the men to the ground, taking down the assailant as she plunged her dagger into his skull. Hongjoong’s eyes met hers, gratitude mingling within them as well as the fear of the situation.
“Thank you!” he called out, determination and gratefulness etched across his features.
“Keep fighting, don’t thank me yet!” she shouted back, her voice firm. The fight still was not over.
The battle raged on, each moment stretching into what felt like an eternity. The library was filled with the sounds of clashing metal and grunts of effort, the scent of blood mingling with the musty aroma of old books, the smell nearly made her want to throw up just as much as the thought of a place she considered a sanctuary being tainted by the violence did. Y/n felt her muscles burning as she ducked, rolled, and struck, each movement honed by years of training and experience.
Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her side— a dagger had sliced through her side and she could feel blood soak through the fabric and trail down her side. She gritted her teeth, refusing to allow the pain to distract her. The world around her became a blur of motion, and she continued to fight, her dagger a flash of silver against the dark fabric of the attackers’ cloaks.
Jongho was grappling with one of the attackers, his strength evident as he wrestled for control. Y/n moved in to help, delivering a swift kick that sent the assailant crashing into the shelves, books tumbling down like rain. The intruder groaned, incapacitated. She left Jongho to deal with him.
“Watch your back!” Y/n shouted, keeping her gaze scanning the room.
In the midst of all the chaos, she spotted Seonghwa fighting fiercely, his eyes narrowed with focus. Just then, another attacker lunged at him from behind, and Y/n’s instincts flared. She sprinted toward him, adrenaline surging through her veins as she lunged forward and into action.
“Your Highness!” she cried out, desperation lacing her voice as she pulled his attention towards her.
With a swift motion, she threw her dagger, the blade spinning through the air and embedding itself in the assailant’s chest, causing him to stumble back, dropping his weapon. He fell to the ground, lifeless, just as Y/n reached Seonghwa.
“Are you alright?” she panted, her heart racing.
Seonghwa nodded, but the fear in his eyes was palpable. “I— I think so. But we need to get everyone out of here!”
With renewed determination, Y/n and the princes fought together, each movement synchronized as they formed a protective circle around one another. The attackers began to fall, one by one, but the fight was far from over.
“Where are the guards?” Hongjoong shouted, frustration lacing his voice as he parried a blow.
“Most likely trying to reach us,” Y/n replied, her voice steady despite the chaos. “We need to hold on until they arrive.”
Just as hope began to flicker, a loud crash echoed from the entrance of the library. A group of guards burst in, weapons drawn, their presence a welcome sight.
“Protect the princes!” Captain Chan barked, moving with a purpose as he now worked to ensure the princes’ safety as well.
Y/n felt a surge of relief as the guards joined the fight, quickly dispatching the remaining attackers. But as the dust began to settle, she couldn’t shake the feeling that the worst was yet to come.
One of the masked assailants, larger than the rest, stepped forward. He was unlike the others— more composed, more menacing. His eyes glinted with a cold malice, and he wielded a sword with deadly precision.
“Step aside, boys,” he taunted, his voice low and dripping with menace. “Let me show you how a real fighter handles this.”
Y/n felt a chill wash over her as she locked eyes with the leader of the attackers. This man was not just a common criminal; he was a threat that demanded her full attention.
“We’ll take you together!” Mingi shouted, positioning himself alongside Y/n and the princes, ready for a fight.
“No,” Y/n interjected, her voice firm. “This one’s mine.”
“Are you sure?” Seonghwa asked, concern flashing across his face.
“I can handle him,” she assured, her eyes never leaving the leader, she couldn’t risk any of the princes getting hurt.
With that, Y/n stepped forward, her dagger gripped tightly in her hand. The leader smirked, a challenge igniting in his eyes.
“Just you? How quaint.”
With a sudden surge, he lunged at her, sword slicing through the air. Y/n dodged to the side, narrowly avoiding the blade, her heart pounding in her chest as she heard several gasps come from behind her, presumably the princes who watched with bated breath. She retaliated with a swift strike, aiming for his midsection, but he blocked her with ease, the clash of metal ringing out.
“Is this all you’ve got, little girl?” he taunted, pushing her back.
Y/n’s blood boiled at his arrogance. She was not just a mere assassin; she was a guardian— a protector, but also one of Erelia’s most skilled assassins. Channeling her anger, she lunged again, this time feinting to the left before quickly spinning to the right. The movement caught him off guard, and she managed to land a solid hit on his side, causing him to stagger.
But the leader quickly regained his footing, a snarl twisting his features. He swung his sword  again, and Y/n barely managed to duck, feeling the rush of air as the blade missed her by inches.
“Impressive,” he sneered, “but not enough.”
The room erupted into chaos once more as the guards engaged with the remaining attackers, but Y/n’s focus remained on the leader. She could sense the shift in the air, the tension building to a breaking point.
With every exchange, Y/n felt her strength waning. She was agile and skilled, but the leader’s experience was evident. He fought with a ferocity that nearly pushed her to her limits, each blow forcing her to dig deeper within herself.
“I’ve seen your type before,” he taunted, his voice dripping with contempt. “Always thinking you can protect them. But they’re just princes— nothing but pawns in a game they don’t understand.”
Fury ignited within Y/n, a flame that burned hotter than before. “You don’t know anything about them,” she spat, launching herself at him once more.
Their weapons clashed, the sound echoing through the library as they fought for dominance. She could hear the distant sounds of the remaining assailants being overwhelmed by the guards, but she had to finish this fight herself.
With a burst of adrenaline, Y/n found an opening. She sidestepped his thrust and lunged forward, driving her dagger deep into his shoulder. He howled in pain, staggering back as she pressed her advantage.
The leader’s expression shifted from arrogance to disbelief. He looked at her, his eyes wide with shock. “You—”
Before he could finish, Y/n followed through, twisting the dagger to create more damage. With a final thrust, she buried the blade into his chest, a decisive blow that ended the fight. The man crumpled to the ground, his breath escaping in a harsh gasp.
With the leader defeated, the remaining assailants faltered, their resolve crumbling. The guards quickly moved to subdue them and dragged the ones who hadn’t been killed to the dungeon where she was sure Chan would not be forgiving in his questioning, and the library fell silent, save for the ragged breaths of the princes and Y/n.
As Y/n stood there, panting and bloodied, the adrenaline began to ebb, replaced by a deep weariness. She felt the weight of the night pressing down on her, the enormity of what had just happened sinking in. Taking in the sight of the library that now looked like someone had rampaged through it, tables were overturned, stools and chairs laid on their side with cracked wood and books, now with blood stained pages, lay on the ground as the shelves that held them were broken and knocked over.
It was then that she felt Seonghwa’s presence beside her. “Viper, are you okay?” he asked, his voice low and filled with concern.
“I’m fine,” she replied, but the sharp pain in her side reminded her otherwise, she placed a hand over the wound.
“Fine? You’re bleeding!” Seonghwa exclaimed, his worry palpable.
“I said I’m fine!” Y/n snapped, but the pain was becoming harder to ignore.
“You’re not fine,” he insisted. “You need to be treated. Please.”
As the guards began to secure the area and assist the injured, Y/n relented. She could see the sincerity in Seonghwa’s eyes, and despite her instincts to brush off her injuries, she knew he was right.
“Okay,” she murmured, allowing him to lead her away from the chaos of the library and toward the palace’s infirmary.
The journey to the infirmary was quiet, the weight of the evening’s events hanging heavily in the air. Y/n focused on her breathing, trying to steady her racing heart.
Once they reached the infirmary, Seonghwa pushed open the door and guided her to a bed. “Sit,” he ordered gently, his voice filled with authority.
Y/n complied, wincing as she settled down. Seonghwa rushed to gather supplies, his movements quick and purposeful. As he returned, he began to clean her wounds, the sting of the antiseptic making her flinch.
“Viper,” he started, his voice low. “What you did back there… It was incredible. You saved all of us.”
She met his gaze, her heart fluttering at his sincerity. “I just did what I was hired to do, your Highness.”
“Seonghwa, to you. And you did more than that,” he insisted, applying a fresh bandage to her side. The way he told her to call him by name caught her very off guard and she looked at him in shock. “You’re not just a protector; you’re one of us now. You saved my life.”
Y/n felt her breath catch in her throat. “I appreciate that, Seonghwa, but I’m an assassin, not some—”
“That doesn’t matter,” he interrupted, his tone earnest. “What matters is who you are now. You risked your life for us, and that means something.”
His words struck a chord deep within her, and she felt a warmth spread through her chest. “Thank you, Seonghwa. I’m just glad I was there in time.”
As he finished tending to her wounds, Seonghwa’s hand lingered on hers, a moment of connection that felt profound amidst the chaos of the night.
“I want you to know,” he said quietly, “that we trust you now. I trust you.”
Warmth pricked at Y/n’s chest, a wave of gratitude flooding through her.
“Y/n.”
A look of confusion washed over Seonghwa’s features before realization. She had just told him her name, not an alias, but her true birth name. Seonghwa couldn’t explain the feeling that spread through his body at that moment, to know that she trusted him enough to be the first to know such information. She had been heavily guarded when she arrived at the castle and honestly, Seonghwa didn’t think they would get anywhere close to breaking down the walls she had built around herself. There had been a shift in the dynamic between the assassin and eldest prince, and Seonghwa could only hope that it would continue to change for the better. For everyone’s sake. For Y/n’s sake, as well.
For now, Seonghwa would keep her name to himself, just between them.

The Cowardice of White Supremacy: A Garveyite Perspective on Fear, Insecurity, and the Need for Black Self-Determination
From a Garveyite perspective, white supremacy is not an expression of strength, superiority, or confidence—but rather a manifestation of deep-seated fear, insecurity, and cowardice. It is a system designed to suppress and oppress Black people not because of their inferiority, but because of their potential to achieve true independence, power, and global influence.
Marcus Garvey understood that oppression is always rooted in fear—the fear of an empowered, self-sufficient Black race that no longer depends on its oppressors. White supremacy thrives on psychological warfare, violence, and deception, but at its core, it is a cowardly ideology that can not survive without lies, manipulation, and systemic oppression.
1. White Supremacy Is Rooted in Fear, Not Strength
White supremacists portray themselves as superior, but their actions reveal insecurity and cowardice.
Key Signs of White Supremacist Fear:
They fear an empowered Black race – Throughout history, Black leaders who promoted independence and self-sufficiency (e.g., Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, Fred Hampton) were seen as the greatest threats to white supremacy.
They use laws and policies to maintain dominance – If white supremacy were based on true superiority, it wouldn’t require systems like Jim Crow, redlining, voter suppression, and mass incarceration to keep Black people oppressed.
They rewrite history to hide the truth – The erasure of African contributions to civilization and resistance movements proves that white supremacy is afraid of an informed Black population.
Example: The Tuskegee Experiment (1932-1972) and forced sterilization programs against Black women were not signs of confidence but of desperation to weaken and control the Black population.
Garveyite Takeaway: A truly superior ideology would not need to manipulate, deceive, and use brute force to sustain itself.
2. White Supremacy Only Survives Through Cowardly Tactics
If white supremacy was built on strength, it would not rely on:
Violence Against Unarmed Black People
White supremacists have historically targeted Black women, children, and elderly people during lynchings and massacres.
Police brutality overwhelmingly targets Black men who are outnumbered and outgunned.
Example: The 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre—a thriving Black economic hub was burned to the ground, not because of Black weakness, but because of Black strength.
Economic Sabotage Against Black Progress
White supremacist systems prevent Black people from building generational wealth by redlining, denying loans, and limiting access to capital.
Black Wall Street, Marcus Garvey’s Black Star Line, and other economic initiatives were deliberately undermined.
Example: Marcus Garvey’s UNIA movement was infiltrated and sabotaged by the U.S. government because it proved that Black people could build global economic power.
Psychological Warfare
The media portrays Black men as criminals, Black women as unworthy, and Black children as threats to justify oppression.
Public school systems deliberately miseducate Black youth to prevent revolutionary thinking.
Example: The criminalization of Black leaders (Garvey, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr.) proves that white supremacy fears educated and independent Black leadership more than anything.
Garveyite Takeaway: A confident people do not need to destroy others to prove their strength. White supremacy is built on fear, and fear is the foundation of cowardice.
3. White Supremacy Is Afraid of Black Unity and Self-Determination
Marcus Garvey’s greatest lesson was that Black people do not need white approval, validation, or acceptance. Instead, we need self-reliance, economic independence, and global unity.
What White Supremacy Fears the Most:
A Unified Black Diaspora – When Black people in Africa, the Caribbean, and the Americas unite, white supremacy loses its control over resources and labour.
Economic Independence – Black-owned businesses and industries challenge white financial dominance.
A Militarily & Politically Strong Africa – An independent, self-sufficient Africa means an end to Western exploitation of natural resources.
A Revolutionary Black Consciousness – White supremacy relies on Black submission and ignorance. Educated, militant Black people threaten the system’s survival.
Example: The assassination of Thomas Sankara (Burkina Faso, 1987)—a leader who was building African self-sufficiency—was orchestrated by forces that feared a strong, independent Black nation.
Garveyite Takeaway: White supremacy only exists because Black people have been divided, miseducated, and kept economically dependent. Its greatest fear is a self-sufficient Black world.
4. The Solution: Black Power and Nation-Building
Marcus Garvey taught that the only way to defeat white supremacy is through self-reliance. Instead of fighting for inclusion in white systems, Black people must:
Build independent Black economies – Stop depending on white-owned businesses for survival.
Control our own education systems – Teach Black children the truth about their history and potential.
Unify globally – Connect Africa, the Caribbean, and Black communities worldwide under a single Pan-African vision.
Strengthen Black political and military power – Create strong leadership and defense systems to protect our interests.
Example: Garvey’s UNIA movement aimed to create an independent Black nation free from white control. This vision remains the only true path to Black liberation.
Garveyite Takeaway: We must stop seeking validation from a system that fears us and start building institutions that serve us.
Conclusion: White Supremacy Will Always Fear a Strong Black Race
White supremacy has never been about strength—it has always been about fear. The system is terrified of Black independence, Black intelligence, and Black unity.
Final Thought:
Marcus Garvey warned that Black people must be the architects of their own destiny. The biggest act of resistance against white supremacy is to stop needing it.
Garveyite Call to Action:
Stop wasting energy trying to change white supremacists—build independent Black institutions instead.
Recognize that the system is not invincible—it is based on fear, and fear is weak.
Study Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, and other leaders who exposed the cowardice of white supremacy.
White supremacy is afraid of Black strength. So let’s become as strong as possible.

The Grammys
Fox of BTS | BTS 8th Member
Tumblr media
The noise of Los Angeles bustling outside her window. She stretched and took a deep breath, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. Today was the day. The Grammys. She lay there for a moment, trying to take it all in. It wasn’t long before her phone buzzed with messages—first from ARMYs, then from the other members, filling their group chat with jokes, emojis, and excitement about the big day.
The BTS suite was a hub of activity. Stylists, makeup artists, and managers buzzed around the room, preparing everyone for the red carpet and their upcoming performance of “Butter.” The members were scattered around—Jin was getting his makeup done while he scrolled through his phone, Hobi was practicing his dance moves in front of a full-length mirror, and Jungkook had his headphones in, humming along to music as he mentally prepared for the day.
Hani sat in front of her mirror, trying to calm her nerves as her stylist curled her auburn hair into soft waves. Her dress—a sleek, elegant number with subtle sparkle—hung on a rack nearby. She was usually calm before big events, but this was different. This was the Grammys. It felt monumental, like everything they had worked so hard for was culminating in this moment.
“You okay?” Jimin asked, sitting beside her as his own stylist finished adjusting his tuxedo.
Hani smiled softly. “Yeah, just…you know. Grammy jitters.”
Jimin grinned. “We’ve got this. ARMY’s with us, and we’ve worked too hard to be nervous now.”
She nodded, feeling a bit reassured by his words. Jimin always knew what to say to ease the tension.
In the other room, Namjoon was going over some last-minute details with the managers, while Taehyung stood near the window, looking out at the city. Hani caught his eye, and he gave her a comforting smile. She could tell he was just as excited, though he had always been good at staying calm under pressure.
As the limo ride to the Grammys finally approached, the members gathered in the suite. Hani slipped into her dress, her nerves kicking up once again. When everyone was ready, they piled into the black SUV waiting for them outside. The ride was mostly quiet, a stark contrast to their usual loud, playful banter. Everyone was lost in their thoughts, mentally preparing for the night ahead.
As they neared the venue, Hani felt her leg bouncing uncontrollably, a habit she had when she was anxious. She didn’t even notice it until Taehyung, sitting next to her, gently placed a hand on her knee. He leaned in close, his voice soft but firm.
“Hey, I’m proud of you,” he whispered. “You’re going to be great tonight.”
She looked at him, his calm demeanor somehow grounding her. “Thanks, Tae,” she whispered back, managing a small smile. His words gave her the boost of confidence she needed, and she took a deep breath as the limo slowed to a stop.
Taehyung was the first to step out, holding the door open for her. The moment she stepped out of the car, the flashing lights of cameras hit her from all directions. The red carpet was lined with fans, reporters, and photographers, all eager to catch a glimpse of BTS. Hani was used to the limelight, but there was something about the energy of the Grammys that felt different. It was electric.
The eight of them stood together, the epitome of unity, as they posed for the cameras. Flashes went off in rapid succession, and the shouts from the press were deafening.
“BTS! Over here!” a reporter yelled, trying to get their attention.
They moved along the red carpet, stopping for brief interviews. As they approached the first reporter, Hani could feel her heart racing again, but she smiled, reminding herself to stay present.
“So, how does it feel to be performing at the Grammys tonight?” the reporter asked, her microphone extended toward them.
Namjoon, ever the spokesperson, took the lead. “It feels amazing. We’ve worked really hard for this, and to be here tonight with ARMY supporting us means everything.”
“And Hani,” the reporter turned to her, “how do you feel being the only girl in BTS, performing on such a global stage tonight?”
Hani laughed softly, shaking her head. “Honestly, I still can’t believe it. I’m just excited to share this moment with the guys and to show the world what we can do.”
The interview continued with light questions about their preparation, their expectations, and their journey so far. The group shared a few laughs, and Hani found herself relaxing more as they moved from interview to interview, their camaraderie shining through with each one.
When the red carpet ended, they were escorted inside the venue to prepare for their performance. Backstage was a whirlwind of activity—crew members rushing around, sound checks happening, and other artists preparing for their own moments on stage. BTS gathered in a small area set aside for them, going over the final details of their performance.
Hani could feel the tension building again as the moments ticked down to showtime. The performance of “Butter” was one they had perfected, but the pressure to execute it flawlessly was immense. Namjoon gave them a quick pep talk, reminding them of how far they had come, how proud he was of everyone, and how tonight was a celebration of their journey.
As the lights dimmed and the stage was set, Hani stood alongside her members, the familiar intro of “Butter” starting to play. The cheers from the crowd filled her ears as they stepped into position. The energy was palpable, and as soon as the music hit, they were off.
The choreography flowed effortlessly, their movements sharp and perfectly in sync. Hani’s heart raced as they performed, but it wasn’t from nerves anymore—it was pure adrenaline. Every step, every note, every beat felt like a culmination of years of hard work, and the crowd’s roaring applause was their reward.
As they hit their final pose, the audience erupted, and Hani couldn’t help but grin. They had done it.
Backstage afterward, the members were buzzing with excitement, high-fiving each other and laughing as the adrenaline started to wear off. Jin threw his arm around Hani’s shoulders, pulling her into a side hug.
“You crushed it out there,” he said, his voice filled with pride.
Hani smiled, leaning into him. “So did you, oppa.”
They gathered for a final group hug, soaking in the moment together. It had been a long road to get here, but standing there with her brothers, Hani knew that this was just the beginning.
Later, back at the hotel, after the buzz of the performance and the excitement of the night had died down, the group sat around, still dressed in their outfits from the night. They laughed and reminisced about the performance, the red carpet, and all the moments in between.
Namjoon raised his glass, smiling at his members. “To us. To ARMY. To making history.”
“To making history,” they echoed, clinking their glasses together, the weight of the night settling in.
Hani sat back, watching the group with fondness. Tonight, they had not only performed at the Grammys, but they had also proven, once again, that together, they could conquer anything.

dawntrail and the theme of duality and unity through visual motif
Hi, thank you for coming to my MEGtalk presentation, aka I’ve already yelled about this to my friends but they’re not as into theorizing as I am so I’m throwing this out to fellow theorists on tumblr dot come.
I want to discuss the motifs we’ve seen of Dawntrail so far, specifically evidence pointing to the theme of duality, unity, and two becoming one.
Discussion of live letters, marketing materials, teasers, trailers, and theories ahead.
reflection, parallels, and the motif of two and connection in official materials
Tumblr media
Starting with Dawntrail’s poster, we immediately see reflection, pairs of two, and the idea of symmetry:
There is a sense of symmetry in the composition, where you can clearly mark a vertical line down the center of the poster
One side faces left, the other side faces right, visually separating Team WoL and everyone else/our rivals at least in the beginning
Gulool Ja Ja, the Dawnservant, is divided by the imaginary center line, with one head falling on either side of the composition
NOTE: Mystery woman at the top facing left towards Team WoL, foreshadowing her involvement with our success?
Twos throughout the poster design: Gulool Ja Ja’s two heads, his two swords, everyone placed in a pair throughout the composition (Erenville and Koana, WoL and Urianger, Krile and Thancred, Wuk Lamat and Mysterious Mamool Ja)
I’m not sure if this implies a parallel of character arcs in the story, but it is worth noting and revisiting after Dawntrail releases
Tumblr media
The teaser for the main menu screen was released last week, and builds upon the visual motif from the poster:
Tuliyollal is reflected in the water
Clouds are reflected in the water as well as reflect across the imaginary center line
Looking at what I assume is the palace and home of the Dawnservant, its design is perfectly symmetrical; I believe this is the first straight on view we’ve seen of its architecture
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As we see in the full trailer for Dawntrail and in the new world map, there is an extremely long bridge that connects the two halves of the continent:
On the map, we can clearly see a giant chasm physically separating the two halves of the continent
In the trailer, we see extreme visual differences between the two halves of the continent; one full of color and flora and the other an arid desert
They are two distinct halves of a whole
Tumblr media
Even the new DPS job, Viper, Meteor’s assigned job for this expac and the newest job completely unique to FFXIV uses dual swords that can be apart or combined.
what we know about the story so far, from fanfest, live letters, and msq (sources to be added)
Multiple comments have been made about basic elements of the story:
Gulool Ja Ja is blessed with two heads, an auspicious sign
Gulool Ja Ja united the disparate peoples of Tural under the one unifying nation of Tuliyollal
To further signify the union of the people of Tural, Gulool Ja Ja adopted four children; several races under one household
Bakool Ja Ja is a contender for the throne; he is not royalty but has two heads like the Dawnservant
Yoshi P has made comments about the two halves of the story feeling very distinct
concluding thoughts
It’a clear to me the idea of duality and two becoming one is an underlying theme of this expansion:
Dawntrail’s poster child DPS job being built around two swords becoming one
Gulool Ja Ja’s two heads, one body
The bridge connecting two halves of the continent
There is also symmetry and parallels seen throughout available marketing materials. From this motif I suspect a few things to happen in this expac:
There will not be one ruler, but two governing heads of state, ruling as one
Tuliyollal and Solution Nine, both confirmed to be hub cities and potentially previously unknown to each other, will form a relationship or partnership; perhaps a story beat will be navigating the unease and awkwardness of this new political alliance
A major plot point during the 6.x patches was bridging the Source with the shards for traveling between worlds; I suspect some development on that front especially with Y’shtola’s involvement
Regardless of where the story takes us, I’m so excited and interested in what they do with the theme of duality and connection that they’ve primed us for, as it keeps popping up again and again in everything they show us and tell us.
please let me know your thoughts!
Did you notice these same things? Was there something I missed? Do you have new thoughts or theories based on this theme of duality?

I've been doing some screwing around trying to work out which hexagrams our boys are, based on the assumptions I made here that the first Medicine Seller's main form represents the Water Trigram and his alter form represents Fire, while the second Medicine Seller's main form represents the Heaven Trigram and his alter represents Earth. This would mean that the first Medicine Seller is a hexagram made up of Water and Fire, while the second is made up of Heaven and Earth. Of these, there are four hexagrams:
Tumblr media
This source on the I Ching gives detailed information about each of these: Hexagram #11, Hexagram #12, Hexagram #63, and Hexagram #64.
These hexagrams' component Trigrams are the four key agents of change:
The Creative ☰ and the Receptive ☷ are the door and the gate of change, the father and the mother of all hexagrams. Water ☵ and Fire ☲ mark the inner space, and spin the hub and align the axis. — Wei Boyang, The Can Tong Qi (Triplex Unity) [source]
Change emerges via Heaven and Earth, and its action is performed by Fire and Water. We can guess that our Medicine Sellers create change through the interaction of these Trigrams, but it's the hexagrams that describe the exact process of these changes.
The First Medicine Seller
Based on the descriptions of hexagrams #63 and #64, my guess is that the first Medicine Seller is hexagram #64, called "Unsettled" on the chart here and "Before Completion" here. This hexagram is the final process of change described by the I Ching.
The work of this hexagram is difficult. It is described as "nothing less than that of leading the world out of confusion back to order" by uniting "the forces now tending in different directions."
"If we wish to achieve an effect, we must first investigate the nature of the forces in question and ascertain their proper place. If we can bring these forces to bear in the right place, they will have the desired effect and completion will be achieved. But in order to handle external forces properly, we must above all arrive at the correct standpoint ourselves, for only from this vantage can we work correctly."
To me, this sounds a lot like the first Medicine Seller's work: the careful investigation of the mononoke's forms, feelings, and causes, without which he cannot exorcise them. The mononoke he faces are caused by discord between the forces of yin (the receptive) and yang (the creative). (I talked about this quite a bit in this post about Mononoke's approach to feminism). These "masculine" and "feminine" cosmic forces are in need of reunification, which occurs through the destruction of the mononoke. We can see this most clearly in "Umi Bozu" when Genkei is rejoined with his sister, and also in "Nopperabou," where Ochou's submissive personality (yin) finally rejoins her true will (yang).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Nue" shows a reunification as well, one between death and life. The destruction of this mononoke causes an explosion of new life into a world that was trapped in winter. Hexagram #64 "presents a parallel to spring, which leads out of winter's stagnation into the fruitful time of summer."
Tumblr media
The work of this hexagram gives rise to a "new era," which we can see in "Bakeneko" #2, where the Edo Period has been transformed into the Meiji Period, a time of growth and prosperity.
Hexagram #63, meanwhile, is entirely about guarding against danger. This could easily overbalance into fear, something I've written about at length as being the first Medicine Seller's main enemy.
Everything quoted above comes from here.
The Second Medicine Seller
We don't know much yet about the new Medicine Seller, obviously, or the situation he appears in. But based on what we do know and on comparing the descriptions of hexagrams #11 and #12, my guess is that this Medicine Seller is #12, called "Obstruction" on the chart here and "Stagnation" here.
Hexagram #12 is a reversal of the state described in Hexagram #11, "Tranquility": a state of rule and order in which yang works in harmony with yin. Hexagram #11, however, can also be seen as a state of control:
In this way nature in its overwhelming profusion of phenomena is bounded and controlled. One the other hand, nature must be furthered in her productiveness. This is done by adjusting the products to the right time and the right place, which increases the natural yield. This controlling and furthering activity of man in his relation to nature is the work on nature that rewards him.
This "virtuous control" could easily evolve into the aggressive social regulations imposed during the Edo Period, and more pointedly, to the shogun's control of the "natural productiveness" of the women inside the Ooku. It is even explicitly described as the "rightful" dominance of men over women:
"The sovereign I is T'ang the Completer. By his decree the imperial princesses, although higher in rank than their husbands, had to obey them like all other wives. Here too we are shown a truly modest union of high and low that brings happiness and blessings."
Tumblr media
Our friend Giant Demon Sky Vagina might have something to say about this.
Such a situation seems ripe for the development of chaos, and #11's description includes a warning to this effect:
Everything on earth is subject to change. Prosperity is followed by decline: this is the eternal law on earth. Evil can indeed be held in check but not permanently abolished. It always returns.
This "evil" arises with Hexagram #12, the overthrow of #11's "order."
Based only on what I've read about these few hexagrams, much (maybe all) of the I Ching is written in terms of the conditions of a state. It must easily translate to, say, the government of the Edo Period. "Stagnation" arises when a ruling body becomes corrupt, with "inferior people" in power; its result is "confusion and disorder." The second Medicine Seller could manifest this disorder, invading the Shogun's palace and disrupting its apparent stability - right to the heart of the Ooku, the potential birthplace of change. Many of us have noticed that he has a chaotic energy that was (mostly... usually...) absent from our first Medicine Seller.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
... But not always.
Being a Medicine Seller (and a particularly erotic one, it seems), there's no way this Medicine Seller won't stir up the women in the Ooku, whose "natural productiveness" has been "rightfully" controlled by the Shogun.
He's the perfect catalyst for chaos.
Tumblr media
"Hi, I'm here to ruin everything."
The progression of hexagram #12 allows for order to be restored, but only through effort. The I Ching warns that "such periods of transition are the very times in which we must fear and tremble." The instability brought about by this Medicine Seller's presence could weaken the "order" of the palace until it can no longer contain what it created: a mononoke based on the underlying grudges of women, which could initiate and maybe even carry out its downfall.
The chaos released by this mononoke may not end there, and the next stage of the changes it initiates could pass to the "restorer of order": to the first Medicine Seller, hexagram #64.
Of course, every bit of this is speculation based on the little bit we know of Karakasa's plot, of the new Medicine Seller, and of the Trigram associated with his sword. But I very much doubt that he's hexagram #11.
Everything quoted above comes from here.

Olivia Troye at Living It With Olivia:
During my time on the National Security Council (NSC) staff, while serving as Homeland Security and Counterterrorism Advisor to Vice President Mike Pence, I saw firsthand how vital the NSC is to the safety and stability of our nation. However, my relationship with the NSC didn’t begin there. I’ve worked closely with it throughout my career, starting in the early 2000s. Over the years, I’ve witnessed some of the most skilled, dedicated public servants in government walk those halls. It used to be that serving on the NSC staff was one of the highest honors in public service, a role reserved for the best of the best. The level of expertise was once unmatched. Regional specialists, career diplomats, intelligence professionals, military strategists, and legal and economic minds all worked in concert to ensure the President and Vice President were informed by real facts, grounded analysis, and strategic foresight. That's what the NSC was built for: to coordinate, not politicize; to unify, not divide; to protect, not perform. Now? That integrity is being gutted in real-time. According to CNN, over 100 NSC staffers were placed on administrative leave late last week. Many of them are career professionals who have served under multiple administrations. They're being pushed out and replaced by political loyalists who lack even the most basic qualifications for the roles they now occupy. This isn’t a restructuring. It’s a purge. And it will cost us.
What the NSC Actually Does
The National Security Council serves as the strategic hub of the American government during times of calm and crisis. It is the only entity designed to cut across every major department, ensuring unity of effort, speed of action, and clarity of purpose.
It:
Coordinates interagency policy across Defense, State, Homeland Security, Treasury, Energy, Justice, Commerce, HHS, and beyond.
Synthesizes intelligence and threat assessments from across the Intelligence Community.
Develops strategies on defense, foreign affairs, cybersecurity, disinformation, migration, terrorism, and disaster response.
Prepares and provides real-time situational awareness.
Guides diplomatic and military posture, manages crisis response and ensures continuity of government.
Tracks and responds to foreign and domestic threats to American lives and institutions.
The NSC doesn't just manage information; it orchestrates it. When it functions as designed, it gives America the ability to respond quickly, wisely, and proportionately. But strip out the expertise, and you're left with noise, dysfunction, and delayed decisions in moments that demand precision. Experience in national security can’t be faked. It’s forged in classified briefings, deployments, war rooms, and interagency planning sessions. The professionals who staff the NSC bring decades of institutional memory, regional knowledge, and cross-sector understanding. That matters. You cannot improvise your way through a missile launch alert. You cannot “wing it” through a global pandemic. I saw the cost of that firsthand. When COVID-19 struck, the coordination process was ignored, the experts were sidelined, and the federal response fragmented. People died who didn’t have to. That is what happens when the NSC is sidelined. And now, it’s happening again, with even fewer guardrails.
The Hypocrisy of the “Deep State” Narrative
And then there’s Marco Rubio. It’s rich to hear him claim it’s Trump vs. the “deep state.” Because I remember precisely what Rubio did during Trump’s first term: he hand-picked NSC senior directors for the Western Hemisphere because he wanted control over Cuba and Venezuela policy. Not based on merit. Not based on qualifications. Based on politics. [...] A newly declassified U.S. intelligence memo contradicted Trump’s latest fearmongering about Venezuela. It clearly states that President Nicolás Maduro is not directing Tren de Aragua, the criminal gang Trump claims is “invading” the U.S. This lie isn’t just baseless, it’s dangerous. It was crafted to stoke fear and justify extremist policies. And when professionals inside the government speak up to correct it, they’re smeared and silenced.
The National Security Council (NSC) is under major attack by the Trump Regime.

Vegas Wedding RadioStatic AU
hellooooo tumblr. Seeing the radiostatic week arts has reminded me about this au I came up with.
Like the title says Vegas wedding. Tag to search: #radiostaticvegasweddingAU
- Vox marries Alastor while he's 10 sheets to the wind despite Alastor's protests.
-Despite the initial panic neither really wants to stop being married.
-Alastor being an asexual (borderline sex repulsed is my HC) tells Vox he can't give him that which Vox says he doesn't need him to.
-They stay married without ever telling anyone.
-They do love each other in their own ways however subtle those might be.
-By the time the hotel is fully up and running the two had a "falling out" after Vox asks Al to join the Vees.
-Velvette and Valentino have NO idea they're married and neither do the folks in the hotel.
-Once Alastor finds out how badly Valentino treats Angel Dust...
-While he can't stop him without causing a ruckus, he can do something once he senses Charlie is in danger.
-Valentino ends up stupidly trying to pick a fight with deer dad with Velvette yelling for Vox. Charlie is trying to do damage control but makes it worse accidentally while Angel is just numb. (traumatized bc he knows what happens to him when someone interferes at the studio).
-Vox appears immediately putting out the fires and seeing wtaf is going on with his business partner and the princess of hell.
"Oh, it's only you." Vox mutters seeing Alastor very much overstimulated by everything else happening around him.
"ONLY HIM?!" Valentino screeches.
"Take your kids and go. I'll handle the mess."
"Vox what the FUCK?!" Valentino bellows once Alastor left with Charlie and Angel (who protested but Vox insisted).
"Stop your fucking screeching. Vel call the repair crew." Velvette does so without questions. Vox leaves once the repairs are started too overstimulated to really care about anything other than going to hide in his dark bedroom.
It hits him later that he saw his hubs after 7 FUCKING years. he is immediately upset and the events of Stayed Gone occur. Alastor is hurt Vox went public about their disagreement after the Vees tried to spy on the hotel.
LONGER story short the events of the series occur as usual aside from everyone being really confused/suspicious of the two overlords.
-Poison is the point when they get caught being more like lovers than enemies by Velvette and unintentionally Angel.
Vox is overstimulated again leaving him with his equivalent of a migraine and Alastor finally comes to see him. An argument happens over Alastor's disappearance. Alastor CAN'T tell Vox why he was gone without putting him in danger. Vox starts crying and Alastor pulls him close mumbling his own apologies hating seeing his husband hurting.
Vox can tell Alastor wants to tell him why he vanished but, can't. Alastor hold his husband close having missed cuddling with him; Vox feeling very much the same. Alastor hums a soft tune helping Vox remove the illusion box he uses to hide his true form which is more cyborg like. (Think Cyborg from teen titans or Swarzenagegger in the terminators films).
Angel and Vel don't say anything out of respect for their privacy not out of fear of Alastor. Plot follows the show for the most part aside from Fern (my oc) figuring out what happened to Alastor. Valentino had tricked Alastor into a false contact with a being of higher power (not an angel/demon or Lillith/Eve) which restricts his power dangerously so without being obvious to the unitiated.
The final battle with heaven occurs and Alastor gets badly hurt. The Vees sing their post battle song (Vox is VERY worried trust me) and afterwards Vox is a mess. Vel notices but stays quiet to avoid Valentino finding out about the secret marriage.
Once the hotel gets repaired Alastor has still NOT healed due to the power vice. He hides in his room as it gets worse. Fern eventually intervenes using his knowledge of demon/angelic magic (He researched the hell out of it while living for DnD and as a hobby) he removes the angelic magic lingering in Alastor's body and breaks the soul contract using a loophole in the faux contract's terms.
Vel at this point tells Vox to go get his man since he's obviously worried sick about his hubs. Vel is dating Carmilla and has been for the last decade without anyone other than her kids and Zestial knowing of it. The battle made her uneasy as well.
Vox uses the small t.v in Alastor's room to go to his husband who is just now waking up after being healed. Vox holds his face in his hands glad his husbad is okay. he mumbles that he realkly wants to kiss Alastor right then. They had not kissed since the wedding. Alastor kisses him gently pulling back quickly flustered .
Later everyone is informed by Harmonia (my other OC) what Fern had done and why he can in fact do that. Hell's Gate (Souls damned by other mortals using a seal) can do things that most can't due to most not being souls worthy of being damned. Relieved that he's free Alastor admits he couldn't say a word out of fear of endnagering the others in the hotel. They all soothe him that they understand his reasoning and thank him for looking out for their safety.
Everyone then finds out that the two have been married for decades without anyone knowing and congratulate them. Husk explains the seal used on Fern and Harmonia using a book from a coven he took with him to his grave as a favor to the those killed by the seal. Valentino is revealed as the responsible party for the contract Alastor was put under, but little can be done due to terf rules and lack of evidence. The couple sigh frustrated a sentiment which everyone shares.
In the end Angel's contract cannot be broken the same way due to it being legitmately signed. Angel is happy Fern and Harmonia were willing to try for him.
it's long but thisnis the gist of it. me writing a mini ficto talk about my AU lol.

Who are your siblings and what is your relationship with them?
Tumblr media
You could say I'm the literal middle child of my family, given that I share a border with all my siblings. So in a sense...I'm the center of Central Asia!
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Kazakhstan is my younger brother! He's known for his nomadic history years back, falconry, and for being the space hub of the now dissolved Soviet Union.
Yuri Gagarin, the first man to ever go to outer space, was launched in Baikonur, Kazakhstan. A little after his independence, Kazakhstan created his own space program, and enjoys keeping up to date with the latest news on space exploration and astronomy(NOT astrology), and won't hesitate to tell you about it. Please listen to him, his eyes light up like stars when he speaks.
Linguistically, he's the closest to Kyrgyzstan and then me. Though due to sharing a border with Russia, he's lost a lot of his language and tends to use more Russian loanwords.
He's great at horseback riding, given his nomadic history from years back. He, like Kyrgyzstan, loves fermented mare's milk, called kumis! And he also loves eating horse meat. Don't knock it till you try it!
He's the "face" of Central Asia, and has been insistent on us Central Asians working together as a team under regional unity(ironic since he declared independence from me way back when I was the Bukharan Khanate...).
Since borders have never really been concrete in Central Asia(not until the Russians came, that is...), there's a significant ethnic Uzbek population in the south of Kazakhstan, namely in places like Turkestan and Shymkent.
He's also been the most modernized Central Asian nation, and talks to Russia the most, whether he likes it or not(he doesn't). Regardless, I really do admire him for being the "trailblazer" representing the rest of us Central Asians.
However, bearing the brunt of all this comes with its drawbacks. I better get him to stop smoking at some point...
Also. Don't ever talk about B*rat in front of him. America made the mistake of doing that once.
Tumblr media
Then we have my older brother Kyrgyzstan. He's... a handful. We've had a history of border disputes that only recently resolved, involving our diasporas in each other's regions. There's a large population of Kyrgyz-Uzbeks in Uzbekistan, and a population of Uzbek-Kyrgyz in Kyrgyzstan.
He's dependent on me for fuel and gas...so my old boss used to turn off pipelines or put off delivery time periods as a way of getting what he wanted.
But we have our moments where we get along now and again. We both worked together in the Basmachi Revolt of 1917 to fight against Imperial Russia. However, it failed when the Russians tried to increase nationalism in each of our regions to split us up... what with calling Uzbeks more "civilized" and "sedentary" than the "nomadic" Kyrgyz.
The both of us are also rather religious and sometimes nag our other siblings(Kazakhstan i mean Kazakhstan) into cutting down their vodka intake(Kyrgyzstan can't resist kumis though...it's his soft spot. What a hypocrite). We also jump Kazakhstan every time he uses a Russian loanword when he could've used a native word.
There have been moments where I was in control of some parts of his territory under the Emirate of Kokand...until he successfully broke away from my rule. Hmph.
I do admire how Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan both are very outspoken and are able to protest at all...something I don't have.
He, like Kazakhstan, also enjoys horseback riding, and is good with blacksmithing. And he enjoys eavesdropping on Tajikistan and my gossip... he tries to play it off like he doesn't care, but I don't buy it.
Tumblr media
My sister Tajikistan is a very bubbly person. We're both very much alike. A lot of Tajiks look like Uzbeks, and vice versa! There's also a lot of Uzbeks and Tajiks living across our borders. However, as border sharers do, Tajikistan had tension with me and Kyrgyzstan for a while, especially during my former boss's tenure...
That weird sproingle on her hair is a result of years of Persian influence, what with sharing a border with Iran. That's why she's kind of the odd one out. She speaks Persian instead of a Turkic language like the rest of us, but her script is in Cyrillic because of Russian colonization, so she kind of sticks out among Iran and Afghanistan.
And like with Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, I also controlled parts of Tajikistan under the Bukharan Khanate...
(Can you stop flexing with your whole "I ruled over all of you guys" thing? It's super annoying. Thanks ❤️ -T)
Tajikistan, stop hijacking my blog!
Anyway, when she's not gossiping with Turkmenistan and I, she loves decorating the sleeves of her dresses with elaborate embroidery and blasting Persian songs on full volume.
Tumblr media
Finally, my other sister Turkmenistan! A lot of people don't know much about her and she definitely does tend to keep to herself more. She's most famous for...how weird her bosses can be. She gets awful tired of her boss sometimes. She had to record a video of him rapping once! Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan can't get enough of it, they've made up games and bets on what Turkmenistan's boss will make her do next...
Ashgabat is really pretty...it just seems a bit lonely at times. Speaking of pretty, Turkmenistan has a long history of ornate headwear and jewelry. She knows a lot about jewelry, especially silver, and we'll talk about our pretty pieces sometimes! I know I can count on her to find something for me to wear on weddings and other special occasions.
Linguistically, she's closest to Turkey and Azerbaijan. A lot of her people go to Turkey to study at Turkish universities, and for travel. Turkey's trying to get her to join the Organization of Turkic States as a member instead of an observer state. It's still up in the air on what she'll do...
Tumblr media
Those are all my siblings! I hope this helped!

🎉✨ Celebrating National Black Barbershop Day! ✂️❤️
Today, we honor the incredible legacy of Black barbershops—places that not only hold tremendous significance within our communities but also play a vital role in preserving and promoting Black culture. Beyond just being spots for a fresh haircut, these barbershops are vibrant cultural hubs, rich with history, conversation, and connection.
Step inside a Black barbershop, and you’ll immediately feel the energy. The sound of clippers buzzing fills the air, intermingling with hearty laughter and lively debates about everything from sports to politics. Walls lined with photographs tell the stories of generations—images of families, local legends, and milestones that weave the fabric of the community together. These spaces not only capture the essence of shared experiences but also preserve our cultural stories, where every haircut comes with a side of wisdom and camaraderie.
Let’s take a moment to appreciate the talented barbers who aren’t just artisans with clippers but also trusted confidants and community leaders. They shape our styles and, in doing so, uplift our spirits. With every snip, they empower individuals, promoting self-confidence and unity in a world that often feels disconnected. Their expertise goes far beyond technique; it encompasses cultural pride and a deep understanding of the people they serve. Their leadership in our communities is truly inspiring.
Whether you’re getting your hair styled for a special occasion or simply stopping by to catch up, barbershops are where relationships flourish. They are spaces where stories are passed down, advice is given, and laughter is shared over a classic barbershop tune. Today is a reminder to uplift these beloved establishments that form the backbone of our neighborhoods.
So, let’s celebrate together! Share your favorite memories from your local barbershop—those heartfelt conversations, the unforgettable characters you’ve met, and the laughter still in your mind. Your stories are what make these barbershops special. Tag your barber and give them a shout-out for their hard work and dedication.
Join in honoring the legacy of Black barbershops and their priceless contribution to community, culture, and connection. Let’s keep the conversation going and shine a light on these sanctuaries of style and community! If you haven’t already, consider visiting a Black barbershop in your area to experience their unique culture and connection.💈🙌

Just found out apparently the Winter Olympic Games in 10 years or so are gonna be held in Salt Lake City, Utah. I sincerely hope and pray that in the next 10 years, this fact will mean something different to me.
As it stands right now, I am pissed off. Of all the beautiful places on this green earth, Utah certainly has captivating natural beauty, but I don't trust that there may not be the influence of what is so flagrantly defining about Utah in that it is the central hub of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Something as beautiful and hopeful as a long-held tradition kept amongst all nations of the world to send some of their best in stunning athletic feats that sometimes seem to transcend humanity's physical potential to one place, so they may compete in the name of their home and a title of honor recognizing the boundaries they pushed in the name of their sport, is almost downright spiritual. I can't help but feel the parallels of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believing themselves to be sending out the best and the brightest fledgling flames of the younger generation to spread a similar light of God, the truth of the "latter days" in today's evolving world, and unity of all of us in God's plan and in one human legacy and divine birthright for all families to participate in that binds us and seals us together. I know not all Latter-day Saints are as inclined to putting forth a presentation of righteous, precious duty for this spiritual sentiment of "being a light" or would as such be engaged in the kinds of acceptance, social change, radical hope, equality, and more that it would require, but that sentiment of all the above mentioned is baked into the religion no less, as to what its members are called to do and be.
Unfortunately, the gruesome underbelly that gets overlooked in their politeness and sweetness and eagerness to just help everyone come unto Christ, is one that suffers from absolutely crippling enforcements of conformity. Conformity that white-washes the cultures that are "invited" to join -- asks them to sacrifice aspects of their identity and assimilate into Whiteness and to alter long-held beliefs and ways of life for the sake of a "restoration of the truth"...eliminating personal beliefs, personal practices, personal behaviors, and by extension personality, and where isolated from broader cultures and one's own ability to make choices freely, to own what one finds true, to walk as one will and where one will, to find meaning, express values, call upon one's ancestors or their own sources, grow in wisdom, and so much more, as though these might not be a path up the mountain, eliminates so much identity even in one's very personhood.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints venerates freedom, honored in a free American country with a "restoration" and the bestowing of God's keys of power to guide the world at a time that could have only been made possible then, a freedom that is held up in its triumphant insistence that the greatest gift to humans was "agency", and captivated in its role as the supreme poser of such deeply rooted human questions at the heart of our souls as to how and why we are here and the gifter of the answers - should we be free to honestly ask the question ourselves, honestly ask it of the missionaries in the world, honestly ask it of the promise laid out in the Book of Mormon to God, who will testify of the truth that sets you free. And yet. The stunning implications that it was never a choice are chained to their idea of freedom.
It was never a choice for the families that Joseph Smith encountered and who persuaded their perspectives and faith to change, families he then asked to take their young daughter's hand in marriage for himself under threat of damnation, or to women whose husbands were off serving missions in other parts of the world. It was never a choice to the people of the world today who do anything less than fully accept, with choking implications that they are denying the very thing that will save them, save them from unhappiness and unfairness. And offering this promise to the members of the world that have been oppressed, in colonized parts of the world, in enslaved parts of 1800's America, in Indigenous Native parts of the colonized Americas and colonized Utah itself, a name directly referencing the tribes that lived there. Offering this to people whose civil rights the Church's extensive arms and threaded branches in local governments lobby to repress. To the queer community that it tragically imposes the question of "agency" and "chastity" that you might just simply choose to be different. For all these people, the implication that life could be different for you. For countries of the world today in need of aid that are promised temples, for families in need of aid that are asked if they tithe. For people in the world asking for more freedom, and the levying of power that all along it will be, if you conform; from the enslaved American promised to find emanicipation in Zion in Utah under Joseph Smith's presidential platform, to the Pacific Islanders today that have family lineages populated with Latter-day Saints that move from their ancestral homes to Utah as Utahns crowd them out, to women everywhere that are promised a Relief Society for women and perhaps an advancement of the cause for women, but find themselves taught by priesthood holders about what great mothers and wives God made them to be. For people in need of guidance and counsel for self-worth and a justification to still be here in a hopeless world, that get asked about sin and "valiance" and given the choice to remain an active member for the sake of fulfilling gender roles, family roles, having posterity. The implication that families can be together forever, but only if you accept and obey to the highest order of covenants, promises you make to the entire dedication and consecration of your life to it. A culture of shaming for less than true perfection and that you must choose less if you get less, and you must have chose hell if you got it, and a power to send you there.
The Church has very carefully, very saintly, made of all its members, "pure", "converted" people striving for perfection even as Christ is perfect. Perfection that comes across to many as diligence, dedication, and integrity. Perfection that to be sure of, might reflect in the Olympic ceremonies as a reverence for that which is sacred, and an adoring display of its temples, its hallowed history of saints and pioneers, and its citizenship of those who Build Up Zion. The world community at large may be deeply saddened as many of us are to find that hallmarks of the human spirit in all the corners of the world from belief systems far and wide, ancient and new, will be swallowed up inevitably in a sweeping display of a sinister thought: that we, Latter-day Saints, are the vested light in a darkened world, and we bear the "torch", so to speak, of shining out evils that we decided long ago were not what defined the power structure of the 1800's world Joseph Smith grew up in and that have shaped the globe ever since.
Their dazzle conceals the weath it took to build it, and who it takes it from. Its celebration of oneness washes out the exclusion of those it defines as needing to "change", "convert", or "overcome" in the name of conformity. Any humility involved will belie a supremacy that earnestly, and audaciously, believes that people should be sent out into the world for the sake of one truth, and one path, and one plan, and that after death, each member should plumb the archives and annals of human ancestry to convert all to its religion in the afterlife. A family religion, a family culture, an Olympic celebration of the human family, yet damned and condemned to separation in the afterlife in tiers of glory the same as its tiered chandeliers in every temple building dotting the desert and mountain Utah landscape.
It's revolting, to me, and I find my only solace in the hope that in ten years, more progress will have been made that shifts our world just a few more degrees toward the acceptable belief that the things the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believes are unacceptable.
