can't believe that skeleman has turned on us, and Halloween Prom is tomorrow.
(what a top-tier UM...we are about to be just totally obliterated in the absolute silliest way. what possible use could this power have outside of bringing us to the brink of utter holiday disaster.)

me: oh i totally get it if some folks dont jive with same coin theory, plus it's strange to conceptualise at first--
me when i see people call it lame:
Tumblr media
#is it any more lame than bill just becoming a bird after a decade of waiting#they dont understand the poetry of bill creating his own end in the form of someone he despises yet gets everything he wanted!!!#sounds like 'i didnt know about the axolotl poem and was oblivious to the bill reincarnation for the past 8 years' talk!#y'all need to appreciate a good ol bootstrap paradox!!! love me some time shenanigans!#also the funniest thing i've seen when folks were denying same coin theory was#'oh that's a paradox so that clearly can't happen!!!!'#as if both time travel eps arent entirely bootstrap paradoxes that literally points the paradox out#and the fact that soos and stan met is one too!!!#...which then makes any canon divergent aus where dipper and mabel dont make it to that ep have the timeline fall apart lol#but everyone forgets about that so whatever!!!#....yes i have beef with the inconsistencies of time travel in the eps but whatever#..........if the kids replace themselves when time travelling then what about the baby versions in 2002--#could you imagine time travellers pig with a billion time duplicates of the kids tho lmao#my point is a paradox brought this family together canonically#defying time and space and lifetimes and trauma theyre all silly goobers together!!!#anyway here's me grumbling cos it was a plot thread left out for years that we were meant to discuss/think about#too bad we didnt expect the 'bill is too busy in theraprison to get reincarnated rn' twist

This boomer opinion that "my kids deserve no inheritance, I'm going to spend it all on jetskis and cruises, they should just work hard like I did uwu" is so funny to me because this is the same generation who'll constantly berate the childfree about "leaving behind a legacy" and it turns out the legacy these boomers are leaving behind is their children struggling with lifelong poverty during the worst financial times since The Great Depression, something that their own parents went through and subsequently left these boomers an inheritance so as to avoid.

Do I want Belinda’s parents to be Them, or do I want them to ambiguously be like god-monster-versions of Them? Cus imitation is the name of the game but also… I do stand by the fact that it’s just a funnier story if the Master isn’t involved — be that stuck in the tooth or literally just chilling somewhere else — and the Doctor’s got him so stuck in his brain it keeps warping reality into these Master-themed stories.
Cus in a story where the Doctor’s beliefs are warping reality, gut feel for plot and no themes yet, if I was writing it from scratch, I would have fridged the Master. And maybe be trying to summon through into reality a god that has the powers the Doctor thinks the Master does, after triggering and triggering him. It’s your Ideal Boyfriend but of course isn’t at all. It’s wearing him, conceptually. (But probably have the Master show up at the end like “Bitch!”)

im debating whether or not thalia should help the tieflings on the grove bc on one hand, if she's going for karlachmance then i need dammon alive and she's also a sorc so alfira's robe would be so good on her but on the other i think she's more worried about her parasite and finding a cure instead of taking the time to help out refugees. like when it comes down to it, thalia is a pretty selfish woman and she'd rather save her own skin than help others. she also thinks it's more pragmatic to find a cure for the illithid parasite in the long run since if the ceremorphosis happens, more people will be in danger not just the people in the grove.

I was reminded of my peak childhood obsession which was pirates of the caribbean, it impacted my identity so deeply that when I had to choose my area of study for my history thesis in university I wanted to become a maritime historian but I thought better of it since I live nowhere near a sea, ANYWAY the first pirates film is so good, there was so much lore and all the relationships between the characters were so delicious like jack and will were the perfect duo and jack and barbossa should have held hands tenderly maybe

5 & 8 for Wyn, 3 & 12 for Mori, and 16 & 20 for Tritchet!!!
Weeeeee, thank you!! 💜
Wyn
5. What’s one hill your OC will die on (anything from a guiding moral position to a strong opinion about combining mint and chocolate)?
Apparently, the hill that she's going to die on is the fact that she has a guiding moral principle against causing death that is drawn out or causes undue suffering. 🙄 Wyn's covenant with the god that touched her and her brother in their worst hours came because her experiences with them lead her to believe strongly in their domain, which was that death comes always, but that it should come with as minimal suffering as can possibly be imagined, and that it was her task as their cleric to do the labor required to minimize that suffering.
In a moment of incredible stress, Wyn said as much to Strahd, and apparently the Countess is taking Wyn's oath to a principle that isn't HER very personally. SIGH.
8. What’s something that your OC owns that means the world to them? What’s something they own that they don’t like, but can’t bring themself to part with?
This is such a good question for Wyn in particular, because the answer to both questions is the same thing: the book on gods of life and death that she found in her brother's study when he was dying, which she used to call him back, and which she has continued to use ever since to develop her skills as a cleric for the very same god that did the calling. The book is a reminder of her failure, and of her brother's abandonment, and of her love for him, and of everything that she has ever struggled to learn in her chosen trade. She has literally been using the blank pages in the back as a spellbook at this point. It's her most cherished possession, and sometimes she wants to throw it right into Lake Zarovich.
Mori
3. What is their stance on religion? Are they a devout believer, against the idea of gods, or somewhere in between? Do they make their practice or their opinions public, or keep it private?
I like to think that the experiences that Mori has had in her time in the Necropolis has made her keen on the spiritual aspect of religion - because much of the duties of the Watch have a cadence of the religious - but that the organized religions that she is familiar with are...not really her thing. She thinks they can be a wonderful tool for people! She thinks they also can be a terrible one! But her own personal attachment is exclusively to the covenants with the dead made by the Watchers of old, and she finds that there isn't much room for anything else.
12. What does their bed and/or desk look like? Tidy or cluttered - are they both the same, or is one neat and the other messy?
The thing about Mori is that she has never really had much in the way of possessions. You know how in the beginning of Veilguard, you get to kinda lay out all of your Stuff and it's like four things that you slap onto a table somewhere? That's basically how Mori has lived for her entire life. She just doesn't have Stuff, and her experience with the Watch bred a certain obsession with having Duties to carry out, which has manifested as a very meticulously maintained living space. That has eased SLIGHTLY with time away from the endless chore list of her home, but not...much....
Harding's suggestion of adding plant life to her room at the Lighthouse HAS eased some of the more spartan aspect of Mori's room, though! They are decorations that come with A Job, and given some time, I'm certain that they will help Mori will take on some of the absolute bomb-went-off mess that I know is buried deep inside her LMAO
Tritchet
16. Point assign D&D ability scores to your OC (STR, DEX, CON, INT, WIS, CHA; out of 27).
STR: 11
DEX: 15
CON: 13
INT: 9
WIS: 12
CHA: 13
Tritchet is MAX DEXTERITY, decent Constitution and Charisma, and dump stats for everything else. The only reason her Strength breaks ten is because she brute-forced physical training when she was a lancer, and kept it up during her brief stint as a dark knight.
This skill array probably also explains why she mysteriously disappears whenever the gang goes to Sharlayan. You won't catch HER in a library, given literally any alternative!
20. What kind of clothing do they feel most comfortable in? What kind of clothing do they wear most often?
Depends on the scenario! In battle, Tritchet tends towards armor simply by dint of being a melee-and-tank girlie, but she prefers stuff that she can still reasonably move well in, and will prioritize that over armor coverage if need be. Her armor sets tend to be heavily covered on the upper half with her arms and legs free, since they need full range of motion to do her Dragoon Bullshit. It's why she wears a lot of shorts. (Also because she looks cute in them, which is equally important for her.)
Day to day wear tends towards this trend too. She wears a lot of shorts with jackets or long-sleeved coats, and tends to eschew skirts or dresses because they are just NOT practical for being as active as Tritchet Pock is!
