they were made for each other, literally. When they first met, the first thing they did was fighting. hell, noe even said he didn't like vanitas as a person. they're a human and a vampire. they're almost always together, and their relationship grows gradually and in a very beautiful way, at least to me.

vanitas, who despises himself to the point of pushing away everybody, starts letting himself go with noe, who believes in him, and quite literally said he'll never leave him alone (as vanitas' concept of freedom is being alone). ah also they're doomed. since the first ever chapter, noe says that he will kill vanitas with his own hands, and the whole series is narrated by (future) noe's pov. in fact all the chapters are called "mémoire" and each have a title.

Okay, time for another Ted talk/ soapbox/ pointless rambling...Putting it under the cut because I have opinions.

In Defense of Dramione - an essay

First of all, I want to say I ship Dramione. Which is a recent thing, specifically about half a year ago. I didn't always because well it never occurred to me that you could. Of course, that's how ships are. We ship some ships bc they're canon, okay, fine. But we ship a whole lot others that aren't because you name whatever reason (they've got chemistry, they WORK, they're better than the canonically approved pairings whatever the hell else, idk). My point is, it had never crossed my mind that I myself would actually like the idea of Draco and Hermione. Bc naturally, you look at them and you think, "He did insult her when they were children. He was an asshat, etc etc." But...BUT.

You know that trope Enemies to Lovers? Ever heard of redemption arcs? Yeah, those are things. Of course, I don't speak on behalf of everyone in the fandom because we all have our reasons for why. But I ship them because there is potential in Draco's character for growth, for repentance, for redemption. I believe that he's capable, when he's an adult of realizing that he fucked up and that the beliefs he was spoonfed as a child are not the law of the land. I've read more fics than I can count that describe this character arc for him and they do it masterfully. Honestly, I think he's a pretty complex character and I believe that we see a sliver of that in the last few movies. Like look, in 6th year, Harry hit him with Sectumsempra and nearly killed him. But when the Golden Trio were at the Manor and it was on Draco's shoulders to identify Harry and basically seal their doom, did he do it? Did he rat them out? Nope.

Maybe this wasn't exactly Draco "forgiving" Harry, admittedly. But Draco saw that Harry was their only hope for destroying Voldemort or for having some sliver of a winning chance, of a possibility of surviving the mess Voldemort was orchestrating. He obviously deemed it important enough to dare to lie, especially knowing that Bellatrix would have summoned the Dark Lord himself in the next few moments. If Draco really didn't care about the outcome of everything, he wouldn't have done that. If anything, we see that he cares at least about the safety of his family because that could have also been the motive. But that gets me thinking, couldn't he also have confirmed Harry's identity? Voldy would have arrived, perhaps praised Draco and spared the Malfoys to die another die. So really, Draco might have gotten more out of it if he HAD confirmed Harry's identity. Hmm food for thought.

Second point, I'm not going to judge anyone in the fandom because of reasons stated above, but I will go so far as to say, please, if you don't ship Dramione, that's okay. Everyone has their own cup of tea, but please, do NOT claim that all of us (that every single one of us who happen to support this ship) are and I quote "are just a bunch of horny teenagers desperate for some pretty boy and pretty girl sex". That isn't fair and it frankly isn't true, so please don't. I know many wonderful people who have crafted amazing stories and shown great talent through their writing to express the complexities I've just spoken about.

I'll end by saying that we all have our ships, and that's okay. There's no real right or wrong inasfaras who you ship with whom. But it's a basic gesture of respect, I think, to let others love the pairings that they love. Spreading hatred, ill-will or just unkindness toward those of us who enjoy a particular ship, that's not cool and that's what brings us down in what should be something we all enjoy and go to find joy and share that joy with others.

Okay, it seems I really defended Draco more than Hermione here but I will die on this hill and defend my dorks. Fight me on it (joking here but really though. XD) Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

It’s hard for me to search the tag given all the other similarly named characters and things with scavenger or reign in the title, but I have to express this idea before I explode.

If you haven’t seen it on Netflix yet, please do. I’m not hopeful on their promise to greenlight a second season if it does well, but nevertheless I have a theory…

Kamen and Hollow. The creators have already talked about how Kamen makes Hollow worse by introducing it to greed and gluttony, but what if this exchange of minds worked both ways? Especially after Kaden is inside Hollow.

Anyway, their split happens with the 2001 moment, separating and reducing Hollow back to its small form, easily scared off with Azi throws a rock at it.

When we last see Kaden he’s tending to a garden, and all the compliment on his work gets is a side eye. Something Hollow used to do a lot. Those beady little eyes were expressive.

And then a three legged creeps out from the fruit tree, the same kind of thing Hollow first tried to subjugate with goo, and Kaden gently takes it and relocates it.

So either Kaden has grown a lot since his time with Hollow… or that’s not Kaden. What if they swapped bodies when cut off. What is Kaden the small, pathetic thing he was made out to be in his final hallucination of Fiona with the spooky anime glasses glare (something I think alluded to Hollow communicating directly the few times it happened, but I could be wrong).

So what if Kamen is now whatever the hell Hollow is, near bottom of the food chain, and Hollow, having been at the top thanks to him, is just… done with that. People don’t question why he never speaks, must be trauma from the isolation. And he’s so good with plants and gentle with the animals.

I just think that after all that, the impression a terrible person had on the native creature was turned into something good (by Levi) while Kamen learned nothing and it’s still not fair bad things keeping happen to him for no reason (as he whines like Alex Yiik even at the end)… but now he also has mind control powers. Oops.

kid AUs aren't really my vibe so idk how it works out, but with this set up they definitely start out as enemies tbh with the whole sharing a body and being raised together it'd be weird to go for romantic ending so I'm completely out of my element, seems like it could build more of a sibling energy

it could be plausible, with the enemies element only getting escalated for years and the caretaker's favoritism creating a big divide in how they perceive their roles in the family, until eventually something shifts

probably they finally find a way to separate without the caretaker preventing that from happening and then that's different, that can end in ship getting together, probably after telling that shitty parent to fuck off from both of them because what the hell

One of the biggest mysteries of Homestuck 2 is who's narrating Candyland with Calliope gone, and the more narration-heavy style of the new team is really calling attention to that. This is very flanderized Jake English dialogue. Also a dramatically more active Jake English than we've seen all...ever?

Last time we saw her, in the epilogues, she was out in space and stole the Ring of Life from John before escaping into a server beacon. So, Meenah has her eyes closed to prevent me from knowing if this is the alpha version or a doomed ghost, and now she's dropping very vague hints about what the plot point is. This does feel very homestuck, in that it's teasing out the reveals to maximize speculation. Skaia is, of course, related to SBURB, and thus this is confirmation of the fandom assumption that they're going to start a new game, without actually saying much else.

I have no idea why this air vent is Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff style, but Vriska kicking the sound affect is still funny.

I don't ship them or anything, but this John/Vriska dynamic where John is kind of the oblivious straight man to all this wacky nonsense is one that Homestuck has been very light on since Act 6.

That was a good update. It was funny, it moved the plot along, and it gave us stuff to speculate about! And the art was really good!

Your post about enemies to lovers just gave me an idea!

Okay, we all know Ghost helps with training recruits so reader joins the military or whatever and Ghost isn’t the one training her at first but he sees something in her that maybe reminds him of himself (maybe it’s her proficiency at certain things or the way it’s like a flip switches when it’s actually time for her to spar and she’s goes from really sweet and nice to kicking the ass of a dude twice her size idk anyways) so he switches some things around so that he is the one training her.

Things go really good and reader feels like they’re getting to reach their full potential with the help of Ghost and maybe a month or two passes then Ghost flips his script (he realizes he has feeling and Ghost doesn’t do feelings). He’s not being talking to reader at all, switches her back to training with someone else, acting like he doesn’t know her practically and this sets reader off so she confronts Ghost.

Ghost just blows her off, telling her she’s acting like a child, that he needed someone with higher skill if he was going to keep training someone (she was literally one of the best trainees he’s aver had 🤦🏻‍♀️) or whatever you think he would say and this is where the “hatred” set in for reader. She tells her self she doesn’t care that he could die in a hole for all she cares.

Anyways I would do a time skip or maybe all the stuff above this is all flashbacks.

But reader stays on that base for maybe another year (the whole time is spent ignoring Ghost, only speaking to him when required, and doing everything in her power to prove Ghost wrong) before she ships out and joins a task force (time skip here) a few years later John is sitting with Laswell deciding who’s going to join his task force.

He chooses Soap, gaz, and Ghost. He looks through the files one more time before pulling out readers file. Says something about reader being able to be compared to Ghost when it comes to being on the field.

When Ghost sees reader with the first time she’s laughing with Johnny. He knows it’s you, he spent enough time around you to recognize your laugh, your body language, the color of your eyes. The moment he ever tries to talk to you all the happiness is gone, covered with a calm and collected front.

(Mini Time skip if you will) Ghost and reader work best on missions together and Price uses this to his advantage. It’s common for the two to be sent on mission sometimes alone and other times with others. But this time it’s just Ghost and reader one of them gets hurt (I would say reader because the way Ghost would torture himself over it would be hell) if you choose reader, she makes a joke about him not caring if she dies then cue the conversation about what happened all that time ago. When they get to the part of Ghost being frustrated and tell reader how he felt then and how he feels now, reader passes out (and maybe as a cherry on top maybe even stops breathing and this is when evac shows up, taking reader away.

Skip a little more Ghost is super worried but reader lives and when she wakes up maybe Gaz is sitting there and tells her about Ghost almost spending all his time in the room other than when he’s on mission (current reason he’s not in the room) and when he gets back reader is doing really good.

Some way somehow we get to them having a conversation and reader asks about what he was going to tell her that night and Ghost confesses(maybe even shows her his face in this moment). But here’s the catch, reader doesn’t confess back, nope. Instead she’s angry with Simon (yep she uses his real name), asking him how he could treat her like that over some feelings, yelling at him about how she was insanely hard on herself all this time because she looked up to Simon then.

Some time later they’re on a mission together again and this time Simon gets hurt (yes hate me idc 😁) and reader is so upset that when Ghost passed out she’s pacing around the room mumbling to herself (maybe even crying) and she says something like “god, you better fucking wake up. (Mumbling to herself) Fucking idiot couldn’t not get hurt.”

Walks over to ghost and lays her head on his chest, “you need to wake up Simon… I need to tell you I love you back.” And maybe he’s awake at this point long enough to say something back to her (or he could just hear her 👀 and not say anything) orrrr if you want it to be more angsty maybe he ends up on base and it’s the same situation where reader is constantly in his room while he’s recovering and maybe price or soap comes in to talk to her about her needing rest and she’s like nope not happening.

This is where the conversation ensues about Price or soap talking to reader about how they know she loves him (super wide eyed reader over here lol) and they just chuckle telling her it’s alright but she needs to take care of herself. So she leaves.

Simon wakes up and talks to one of the John’s (the John thing is funny to me okay) and they tell him about reader staying around. Reader comes back but ghost is asleep again. Maybe reader falls asleep holding ghosts hand *this would be such a cute moment for soap to come in and take a picture and leave 🥹*

Anyways reader might be talking to herself thinking Simon is asleep and she says something about loving him when she turns to find him awake. Somehow they end up talking about heir feelings and maybe this is when they have their first kiss idk

(That’s honestly where I would end it and then make an epilogue)

Maybe they have some kids maybe they don’t but in the end they’re happy with each other and maybe we get to see how the rest of the task force is doing

I really cannot make it clear enough that the only people who think Izzy Hands has a massively outsized following in the OFMD fandom are people who aren't paying attention and probably get annoyed by every positive mention of Izzy Hands.

Those of us who do post about him / read fics about him / enthusiastically ship him / whatever are far more likely to quip about how there are whole dozens of us in our corner because that's a hell of lot closer to the reality. But if plain statistics on fics or repeatedly pointing out that tumblr notes are the same people hitting that same reasonable average of double digit reblogs... Idk. Maybe a more descriptive exercise would make this clear?

I'm sorting AO3 by most kudos, looking at OFMD fics with Izzy's character tag (aka the one place he really outstrips the other side characters in numbers). A few observations:

Izzy's name appears in a fic summary for the first time on Fic 6, with "...and Izzy getting disrespected several times." Not much of a mention.

First Izzy/OC ship is Fic 7 (Hell or High Water - a title I recognize but have never read)

First Izzy/Other Character is Fic 17, with Izzy/Lucius, which also appears to be the first Izzy focused fic

Fic 22 is the first appearance of BlackHands as part of a SteddyHands fic

46 Fics in we get the first one Not Technically Ship Tagged with BlackBonnet (a Lucius/Izzy with a "background blackbonnet" tag), and at Fic 63 we get the first Actually Not Ship Tagged with BlackBonnet (a Stizzy fic about bonding over hating Calico Jack).

I think Fic 215 is the first mention of Sam Bellamy? I'm trying to find something specific and it's taking a while...

Oh wait there it is! 216 Fics by Kudos into the "Israel Hands" character tag (out of 7785 total) we have the first BlackHands fic that doesn't have Stede involved. Prior to this there were a lot of BlackBonnet fics, and notable numbers of SteddyHands and Izzy/Lucius. Hell we even hit Izzy/Frenchie and Izzy/Captain Flint before getting to this point.

I'm just really trying to illustrate here that for all the snide accusations and defensive worrying I see about all the sinister Izzy fans trying to make the whole show and fandom about him, "Izzy" content (which this ought to demonstrate is hardly all about Izzy) is just not that overwhelming. Izzy content that excludes or ignores the Revenge crew even less so. Like, run this exercise with any side character and you'll get pretty similar results - seeing as the dominance of BlackBonnet above all else is still ridiculous by fandom standards - but that's kinda the point.

Izzy is a popular side character, which is a thing that tends to happen when side characters get speaking time, characterization, camera focus, exploration of their current and potential relationships (conflict counts), etc. You know, things that Izzy gets a bunch of as an antagonist? Izzy having more content than Oluwande is not really more weird than Oluwande having more content than Buttons or Wee John? I'm not going to pretend that fandom spaces don't drop the ball on content for characters of color pretty often, but the tagged content breakdown in this fandom is not far off from what you would expect by character descriptions alone.

Like the list goes Cool Protagonist / Love Interest -> POV Protagonist -> Live-In Primary Antagonist -> Side Fun Guy with a Death Cliffhanger / Fanfic Gap Ending -> Side Pirate Assassin with a Subplot -> Assassin's Side Love Interest... I mean, maybe Lucius is a bit higher than Jim even for what "Lucius in the walls" fics can account for, or Lucius / Izzy have a bit bigger of a lead than they would without white identifying bias, but that's like? Unprovable speculation at best???

Not remotely comparable to, like, "Star Wars Sequel Trilogy" where Kylo Ren is 46.3% of fics while the two non-white protagonists are only in 35.7% (Poe) or 29% (Finn). Hi ONTF, sorry to vent in your inbox but I’ve just stumbled into 3 different posts in rapid succession that had me boggling. I don’t know, they were probably just vent-y tumblr hyperbolic posts but is this really how a lot of people on here are about the media they consume?

One was about how another show ended in a queerbaiting mess (did it? Really? Does queerbaiting mean what you think it does?), the second one was about how people should boycott any show with even a hint of queerbaiting (which, in context, seems to mean with any shippy dynamic that doesn’t become canon in 2 episodes!) and the third one was about people insisting that a show is actual representation when, as much as I liked Good Omens, it just isn’t.

I was left staring at my screen with the impression that these people are either looking at meh shows they don’t actually think much of with their slash goggles firmly on and basing their opinion of the show’s worth on weather their ship becomes canon or trying to shoehorn representation in shows that they did enjoy because otherwise they wouldn’t feel as good about liking them? Idk, I guess what I’m asking is was it just 3 badly worded posts or is this an attitude you’ve noticed on this hellsite?

And at the same time if representation, no, let’s be honest: if the canonical status of their specific ship is so important to them that they can’t enjoy a show unless it’s there why do they seem to mainly be watching mainstream stuff with low chances of an actual payoff? I keep rewriting this part, I keep getting sidetracked. Basically I agree with you that people on here seem to put way too much faith in the idea that mainstream shows are writing things a certain way to bait queer audience when I think they’re just doing what mainstream shows have always done and most just don’t much care. But I wonder what has caused this idea, what gave people the expectation that their queer ship, often between well known main characters, has a chance in hell of becoming canon? Is it because roughly ten years ago a couple of shows went “actually yes, this infamous cannibal is in love with the fbi agent! Straightbait! Our main pirate is queer!”? But Hannibal and Black Sails were both pretty niche, not super popular shows. They were, and remain, exceptions. Sherlock and, idk, Got, were whole other beasts popularity wise. The fact that it is still unusual is why people where so happy and excited about ofmd! But statistically? Either a show is clearly marketed to a queer audience or the chances of a queer main character/ship are abysmally low and I don’t get why people keep doing this to themselves. Sorry, I’m rambling and confused at that absurd boycott idea and I’m curious to hear what you and others think.

Well... when you mostly read books by AO3y people and hang around in fanfic space, reality does cater to you. One forgets how different the rest of the world is.

And in many ways, that's a good thing.

But I spend a lot of my time on original m/m rather than big name shows, and it definitely helps.

When one swims in the AO3/Tumblr/Tiktok/whatever waters all day long and then goes back to really big media, expecting the same status quo, one is disappointed.

Do you have any advice for fan fiction writers who aren't getting many readers etc? I feel like giving up some days but I love writing and find fan fiction my personal therapy if that makes sense. I'd love any advice you can give or any suggestions. 💕

Well, honestly I'm not any kind of authority so take whatever I say with a grain of salt. Because honestly, I never really thought I'd get any kind of following to begin with 😕 this surprised me, and still does to this day, more than anyone. When I started posting my first fic (very nervously and through the feeling like I was going to throw up) I thought "well, I'll just write a few chapters and probably no one will ever read it and I'll get bored and it'll be out of my system." And now here we are, and I have no idea how that happened 😳

What advice I can give is, you can't write for the sake of other people. I know that sounds cheap as hell because the whole point of sharing fic is to get feedback and interact with others in the fandom, but really at the heart of it you have to just write stories that you like and you want to read above everything else. Keep writing. Keep growing. Keep refining your work and your style so no matter what the view count is, you know you're becoming a better writer regardless. And truth be told, you never know what idea or fic will hit with readers and what won't. You may write something and think oh no one is gonna gaf about this and then out of nowhere, that's what people love. It happens more than you know.

Another thing is - and this is going to sound harsh at first but bear with me please - in this day and age sadly you have to manage your expectations. Not because you don't deserve more readers or comments or because your work isn't good, but because the culture of fandom and fanfic/fanart is changing, and not for the better. There's dozens of posts that make the rounds on here passively warning people about how a lot of writers and artists are getting burned out and fed up with the lack of reciprocal community from their audience. Tiktok and IG and all that shit has kind of ruined the landscape of fandom because now everything is seen as just consumption based. More and more people read a fic and move on, binge a show and move on, burn through a fandom's entire AO3 content in 3 months and move on, and it sucks. I mean when you look at fandoms of old, the days of Xena and Buffy for example, a lot of those fans are still around and still participating and still creating work even though the show/fandom/ships are long gone. You don't really see that loyalty much anymore, and it becomes a cycle of the fandom shrinking and then the feedback and comments and support grinds to a halt, and then creators stop feeling like wasting hours of their life to pour themselves into work that gets maybe a handful of comments even though they see hundreds or thousands of people have read it. It just sucks all around. So expecting to see the numbers that a fic did even 3-5 years ago, sadly, just isn't going to happen.

BUT

I do also know this, the Clexa fandom has been one of the best fandoms I've ever been in, both as just a fan on the outskirts and someone who tries to contribute. I've found Clexas to be funny and welcoming and we have a core group of fucking awesome and loyal, supportive readers, but the thing is you have to keep going. Sometimes building an audience and a regular group of readers takes time. Name recognition matters. Yes there are writers out there that are just synonymous with the fandom, but there's other writers (hi yes hello me, I mean me lol) who came late to the party and it's taken some time to get people to see their work. Tagging things and reblogging, talking in tags, reaching out to other people in the fandom and making friends who want to help you with your work because you help support theirs. All that stuff. It makes a difference. Damn near every week or so I get a new reader saying "wow idk how I hadn't heard of you before/read your stuff before but I'm glad I found it, keep going!" And that 100% will never have even the possibility of happening if you stop writing!

In the end, you just have to decide what's best for you. If this feels incredibly unhelpful I truly am sorry, I wish I had better advice to give you but I'm as clueless to this all as you are. But 2 things I do know for sure without a doubt? One, there is a place for you in any fandom, and your work does matter. There is an audience out there who want to read what you have to write and they'll love it. And two, in the end just be kind to yourself. Love yourself and be proud of yourself for trying, and for being creative and growing your work. Fanfic is supposed to be fun, writing about your favorite blorbos is meant to be fun, even if more often than not it feels like the equivalent of just dancing alone in your kitchen. Ya get what I mean?

idk if ive talked here about the. most of star war au tbh? hard to summarize. rambling incoming

essentially. pfeil was prince of zygerria, but it sucked for numerous reasons (terrible fascist hell culture, abusive family, etc). his mom was physically violent and during one altercation he freaks out and kills her with the dark side of the force. like jsut explodes her. obviously being like 15 he panics and flees the planet as a stowaway on the first ship he can find.

he ends up on this planet I MADE UP <3 called orphan, which is an orphan planet (hence the name). it's home to an imperial shipyard, and in essence it kind of functions like a prison colony and general shunting-off place for Undesirables. nothing grows there, it's all solid ice, its day-night cycle is managed by a big stupid orbital lamp and the ice crystals in the air cause a lot of optical illusions. the overseer lets him stay on the condition that he work, and everyone sort of quietly overlooks the fact that he gives a fake name and doesn't legally exist and the obviousness of like. i mean come on this little zygerrian guy shows up and then a few days later you hear on the news that their prince is missing and his mom is dead? DUH

anyway. orphan sucks, the optical bullshit and isolation and bad safety standards and all cause a LOT of industrial accidents and general malaise. pfeil just kind of absorbs this horrible atmosphere and gets mad about it and mad at the empire and it all sort of festers until someone Else gets into an accident and he's had Enough and steals a ship to go attack the first imperial operation he comes across and hopes he'll just get blown up. instead thrawn grabs him, and he does his typical thing of like "oh hmmm, he might be useful later," and essentially lets him go and leads him to the ghost crew.

i think pfeil meets up with everybody after the shit with maul, so between seasons 2 and 3. obviously kanan doesn't like him bc he's got the most rancid dark side vibes humanly possibly (felinely possible?) but ezra likes him. pfeil gets weird about kanan thinking he's ontologically evil since he's already got massive guilt issues and ocd also. everybody else is some level of cool with him though. he and zeb get along particularly well since they're the least humany of the crew i think, and obviously he has force shit in common with ezra and an interest in art in common with sabine. hera just kind of adopts him

i tend to imagine season 3 is kind of like...he has a lot of soul searching to do about his self destructive/suicidal tendencies and connection to the force and kanan really only makes it worse. i think a lot that pfeil would seek out the bendu and be like OKAY SO YOURE A GREAT AND WISE TEACHER. IM ALL FUCKED UP. HOW DO I STOP BEING FORCE SENSITIVE. and ofc the bendu is like Well you'd have to kill yourself (the living force is part of everyone, you can't not be alive unless you're dead, etc). and pfeil being pfeil takes this to mean "Ah, so i am morally obligated to kill myself then" which. Not what he said

the big battle at atollon is probably his nadir, really. i had been thinking he gets over his whole Thing before then but really his behavior ive written for it suggests he is in fact still up to his usual bullshit. snooping as usual i see. anyway. it is Terribly hopeless for the rebels so i imagine pfeil processes this as like "I can make a difference in the survival of the rebellion. By finally doing the moral thing and CRAZY DYING." and goes out there and fights like an insane scary reckless person until his ship does, in fact, get blown up.

i think this is where there are two sort of possibilities. either way he survives due to the horrible inside of him (dark side of the force). in an au where emet expy polydegmon is emperor, he gets scooped out of space and put in a bacta tank and shit, and there's an uncomfortable captor-captive romance thing that happens and whatever, i still haven't found a way to plot that out in my head to my satisfaction, i never like it. it's not interesting anyway.

the thing that i did this whole big long preamble for is that like. i started thinking "ok but what if i DIDNT replace palpatine with a cuntress. what would happen then." i don't think sheevy palps would scoop pfeil out of the space dirt, honestly. polydegmon initially wants to get in on that because he thinks his dark side echo bullshit might be useful and then falls in love with him and is like oh no oh fuck god dammit, but i think palpatine is too busy being palpatine to take much interest in pfeil, and beyond that i think he'd rather have pfeil be dead than potentially bring another apprentice into the stupid mix bc it's not like pfeil is as cool and badass in the force as luke or anything.

what i'm saying mostly is that i think it would be interesting if maybe in this timeline pfeil was stuck as a pfeilsicle out in space until like. idk. new republic times probably. fry from futurama ass situation

Hello! I think a lot of people who like Fate The Winx Saga don't really care about the original series. There are people who don't even care about the original characters like Flora and Tecna, it's all an insult. There is no one in the Winx production that cares about the original series, not even the actors, none made an effort to study the characters. The essence of the characters is not felt. They destroyed Stella and Bloom's friendship to be more "realistic". It's disgusting, the machismo that exists is impressive.

As for the ships, if Rivusa! Fate is shipped, it is because the characters are called Riven and Musa, but they are not the characters (Musa in Fate looks like a very cheap copy of Darcy, the powers are the same, who knows if they mixed Darcy and Musa, and gave rise to the Musa in Fate). There are shippers who ignore the whitewhasing that Musa suffered, and even in fanarts.

They wanted to make it darker, when dark does not equal dark filter. It can be a totally dark plot and the photo shines. An example is Midsommar, the film is cloudy, but it is not dark.

And lastly, the lack of totally beloved characters like the Trix. And no Beatrix is not Icy, and she is not Stormy and she is not Darcy.

It hurts me so much that they turned Riven into a simple buffoon.

This rant is great and can easily stand on its own. A few of my own additions, just for fun:

I think the people who are into Fate either A) have vague memories of Winx as a whole so don't realize the major differences, or B) never watched Winx to begin with. Fate doesn't really require you to watch Winx Club anyway, it just kind of takes names and certain character traits and does...whatever the hell the show is.

You can make arguments for and against Rivusa all day (and people have, but I'm not here to do that), but it's fucking hilarious that after so many complaints of them being unstable/toxic/whatever (which you can either blame on the writing changes over the years or the characters themselves, but that's not the point here) Netwinx put Musa in a normal relationship with a totally normal and nice guy, and people still went 'NO! RIVUSA BECAUSE OF THESE 3 SECONDS.' And yes, that was bound to happen because of the type of show this is supposed to be, but I'm of the mindset half of these people are here just because these two characters are named Musa and Riven. I mean you do you, but *shrug*

In an attempt to make New Trix with different genders and races* (idk if you can count the single black male lead as diversifying this train wreck of a show, but technically) and for some reason a throuple (??), Young made it worse. It's so much worse and I hate it.
