Hiii!!! I just read through some of your match up posts and thought it‘d be AWESOME to request one as well! for the fandom, I‘d love to request call of duty since I‘ve been OBSESSED with it for soo long and have played most games 🙌

Starting off with some basics about me, my name is ash, I am 20 years old and live in germany! my ancestry contains tons and tons of german and a bit of french (4% french). I speak english, german, french and am currently learning russian! (🇬🇧/🇺🇸🇩🇪🇫🇷🇷🇺)

I have short dirty blonde hair that goes up to my shoulders, I cut it short 2 years ago… it‘s wavy and aaaallmost curly but not quite (2C hair)! I have a rather pale and small frame, I weigh not much over 50kg and am 6 feet tall!! yes.. very tall haha

My personality type is INTJ and I‘m often described as funny, a bit mean and overall quiet. I‘m very sarcastic and I love teasing people. Sometimes I just completely zone out of conversations and talk about the opposite thing.. 😭

I LOVE and adore cats with all my heart, I love me a good cup of tea, hiking and of course.. my bed! Do you believe you have a type of character you gravitate towards writing? (If you filled this out last year, has this changed in any way?) uhhh... i definitely tend toward characters who are in some regard defined by a form of love or strong emotion, romantic though it need not be -- people who have some sort of powerful, aching tenderness in their heart. i've not really done as much as i've wanted in terms of bringing that out of them, but it's definitely something that draws me in to a character in the first place!

Do you have characters or types of characters you don’t think you can handle writing, but wish you could? ooh, there are lots of characters i like who have a brusque edge or manner, who might be harsh or cold... i wish i could do that! i'd like to try, i think. and also the funny, energetic, boisterous types -- i love to see them and be around them, but i definitely can't pull it off hahaha

What kind of scenes, situations etc do you believe you enjoy writing the most? (If you filled this out last year, has this changed in any way?) it's been a while since i've gone all in on this kind of scene, but i love emotional scenes and heart-to-hearts -- the sort of thing where you're communicating your feelings with everything you have and trying to reach someone else! i usually rein myself in well shy of that though, hahaha. i worry a lot about getting too lost in the sauce and derailing a conversation/thread, or making it all about what my muse/what they want to communicate.

Favorite TOA-related memories? to this day i miss and adore annie's frederick! his dynamic with my cordelia at the time was so much fun to write and to talk about and we had such thoughts for how their relationship would evolve -- it's one of the most interesting and endearing relationships i've had the pleasure of writing! on a sillier note, i often think about leif hauling ass after kanoesa's lewyn HAHA

In general tho: I like muses with whom I can explore aspects of human personality I wouldn't necessarily venture into on my own. (certain brands of conflict, responsibility, etc)

Do you have characters or types of characters you don’t think you can handle writing, but wish you could?  idk i think if i really wanted to write a kind of char i probably. would. but i guess the 'much more like Actually Super Intelligent than i can realistically pretend at' would be it i suppose

What kind of scenes, situations etc do you believe you enjoy writing the most? When you get to write characters with a shared history you've built together over time/across threads. When you can refer to past shared experiences, positive or negative... sobs. chefs kiss

Do you have any scenario in mind for your muse(s) that gets you thinking “man I hope I get to write this one day”? A Hector near the end of his schooling arc might be neat (he's learned what he's came here for, he's ready to return to Ostia and do Uther and his people proud, and more competently than many mightve imagined at that) but. When that day comes he might really be actually going home soon lol.

just finished around 2/3 of volume 12, i love so much the entire dreamscape / real world mechanic and lore-wise, love the way purplebloods and their history is represented and currently romancing Lynera. i'm in love with this volume so far thank you all so much (and whoever had the idea of making TechniColor Heart an actual thing, i'd hug u)

That was me (game's director/lead writer here) - TechniColor Heart was actually in production for a few months. The April Fool's joke trailer was just a fake-out using footage from the actual game (within a game) - it's original inception goes back to the "we'll put sex in the game" meme we did on Twitter.

So I basically spent 3 months writing, coding, and doing UI design to put that in there. The assets are a combination of Friendsim 2 assets and backgrounds I did and sprites that Riotbreaker did for another game (it was cancelled in its original form and another studio may or may not be continuing it at some point, but without the original assets). I'm a big fan of committing to the bit - to the point where every one of the "hahaha wouldn't it be funny if we put this in the game?" jokes has not, in fact, been a joke.

Originally there was gonna be a shorter and less interesting dream sequence in that bit there that had a Tyzias/Tagora trial sequence (we actually had that sequence completely done with recorded dialogue) as well as some small walk-around segments using existing assets.

There were also a couple cut mini-games from Volume 12 - a sliding tile puzzle and a "light up the lights" type puzzle, neither of which was very fun - so those got replaced with Tetris and Fire Fling, respectively. (if you talk to Mallek about his GameDude console in the TechniColor Heart segment, you can actually play Gameboy versions of those games to practice them)

Overall, Volume 12 has probably been our most involved volume. One of the things I wanted to get right going into this game was how the purple bloods are portrayed, because there's a lot of baggage associated with how they're shown in canon, and I wanted to approach the whole thing thoughtfully and make it an impactful experience.

I cannot stress enough how important the contribution of the route's primary writer, Miranda Holliday, was to the experience of that route. They laid down the framework (and wrote most of the first half of the route) for a lot of the themes and how they tie into real-world issues of ethnicity, race, and culture. I picked up what they put down and then they went back over what I'd written in the second half to tighten up some of the language and provide feedback on the way the themes were developed.

Also, the route's sprite designer, Cole, was instrumental in fleshing out the character designs and giving them a unique character. Riotbreaker ended up doing the finished sprite sets off the original designs, and she did an awesome job of following Cole's reference designs.

Also, unique among the routes, we had the stark contrast between the dreamscape backgrounds (done by Dave Fowler) and the real-world backgrounds (done by Herk Lapaduza, who's done work on a couple other volumes both released and unreleased!). The dreamscape in particular was very much an exercise in "have fun with it!" to the artist, and the result was a delightfully surreal experience to contrast with the much more grounded style of the other backgrounds.

Lastly, our VAs for this route really helped sell their characters' unique personalities. Valentine was my choice to play Marvus from before we even started this game (there's an interesting story there - before FS2 was a thing I was going to do a fan dub of my Delightful Abattoir Hiveswap novel, so some of the voice cast comes from that!), and Miranda, Jason and Vyn did an amazing job with Akhnai, Barzum/Baizli, and Chahut.

As someone who fell into the absolute rabbithole that is mechanical keyboards a few years ago, I am always interested in other peoples experiences. Hello! Welcome to my inbox and possibly Tumblr, haha—I love seeing familiar usernames from AO3!

So the perils of being a student who frequently has to change locations and have a computer at work means that I've been using exclusively laptops since graduating high school in 2014! I currently use a ROG Zephyrus G14 (though I don't remember the year as I bought it used-like-new off a friend), which, by the by, I would highly recommend to anyone who wants a lightweight but powerful gaming laptop that has a pretty, work-appropriate aesthetic and travels very well because it has a separate, integrated graphics card that allows it a 10 hour battery life.

HOWEVER. I know a bunch of people that are into keyboards and I gleefully anticipate the day (probably in another three years, once I finish residency and move again) when I can get an actual desktop and finally find out what the heck all of y'all are on about, hahaha. My dad does have a nice clacky one with low-set buttons that I find really satisfying, though. A childhood of him playing Doom 3, Far Cry 2, and Battlefield 2 in the living room while I read on the couch makes it a very comforting background noise to me. At least until I started stealing his desktop to play WoW and Overwatch, hahaha.

Oc Asks!! (part 1)

Time to get down to answering some of these <3 answers below the cut:

1. Oldest OC: My oldest OC is a Neopets oc believe it or not. Geltolnikov or just simply Gel is a rare item smuggler and black market hustler. I mad him waaaayyy back in like 2003. When i first made him he was red, but when i got ahold of a pink paintbrush in the game he became a pink bastard to reflect that

2. Newest OC: Tiberius is my newest OC. Tiberius is a human cleric that is a total glutton he hides his weight with a magic cloak, that compresses his nearly 500 lbs into a manageable 150lbs to keep his gluttony a secret. If you asked him if he was fat, he would scoff and deny it, but in secret he's gorging himself on anything he can get his hands on. He encompasses like a lot of my fetishes into one

5. Main reason for making ocs: mostly for Dungeons and Dragons purposes. However other reasons include, fleshing out my own setting of Avalon and "gosh i need something that scratches a fetish itch for me"

6. Describe your character creation process: Wow *sits in bed* man i really want to play "x" character in DnD once. Woops I can't use them for DnD? Well they get to go in my avalon setting now*throws* 7. Do you ship your Ocs with someone else: I sure as heck do. And that is my my Fiancée, Dan. We've been shipping characters together since they day we met (i'm not joking, we met in college and the first thin he did was make a character to ship with my character Chrys 8: Favorite OC Ship: THE POLYCULE! 9. Weirdest OC?: Hands Down Forever! Forever has been through several iterations, but in his current form, he's a Vedalken that has been put through mental reconditioning , stripped of his personality, and allowed to become basically a god in his own little demi plane, and put in charge of said plane, leading people through a death machine to harvest their emotions for people that built said machine.

10. villain OCs? I have quite a few of those! But the biggest baddest ones I have are, Zachariah(ancient evil arch lich), Jacob and Ebb(Duo of Vampires), and Err(fallen Aasimar that wants to destroy all religion )

It’s been a very long week with a lot of stuff happening, so I didn’t have the time to finish the next page, but I did finally get ask responses typed up, so the inbox should be all cleared out again!

I haven’t really decided if/how I’ll work in town pets/slimes! They’re fun, though -- I might try to work them into the background in places?

To answer your question about Andrew knowing about King Slime, though- Andrew is very aware of what happened to his brother, and it’s stuck with him as a lesson about how becoming flippant or secure in your power can lead to something as unassuming as a few slimes being able to unexpectedly defeat you.

They relationship wasn’t always the best even back before all that, but they still cared about each other.

Firstly: I’m glad to hear it’s gotten you back into your playthrough! I really ought to start a new proper playthrough this summer...I haven’t played a whole much since shimmer got added! And thanks for the kind comment on the backgrounds :) I can’t always put as much detail into them as I want to due to a mixture of time constraints and my general ability as an artist, but I do enjoy making them look nice.

As for the other NPCs: I want to get more NPCs worked in here! I honestly didn’t mean to exclude them, as I meant to add them into the backgrounds of earlier chapters where characters were walking through town or at the tavern. But again, due to time constraints, that didn’t happen, because adding in any additional characters to a scene just ups the complexity a ton. But others will be joining!

…You know what? Yeah, you’re right, hahaha! Spot on. Heather’s view of the situation was that she knows Andrew used to be much more of a traveler before finding himself in Purity Town, and she knows he’s under some sort of strange, magical curse, based on the strange circumstances under which his injuries appear and how difficult they are to heal. Andrew’s also generally quite knowledgeable about Hell and its workings -- putting all of it together, it makes sense that he once either went to Hell himself and was cursed by a demon, or maybe came into contact with a cursed item another adventurer obtained there, or similar (for obvious reasons, going to the Underworld as a living mortal is a big deal -- it’s dangerous, it’s deep -- but it’s not impossible to think someone, somewhere has done it).

Thus, kill the demon → end Andrew’s curse! It’s foolproof! Unfortunately, while it’s a theory that makes sense, it’s not quite so simple in reality.

Hahahaha, I would highly recommend you not think too hard about individual background objects…I try to keep things at least a little consistent, but it’s never perfect. I was mostly intending for Andrew to have just dropped the apple and knife on the cutting board, but then forgot to draw the cutting board. His counter is also rather barren/inconsistent/missing some things it should have. At the end of the day I only have so much time to work on backgrounds, and sometimes detail is lost.

Pshhhhhhhhh, hahahaha, I can’t imagine why! What a crazy coincidence...

1) It’s variable, but in the current day (that is, Terraria has recovered to the point of resurrection being possible) it’s fairly quick. Resurrection is a strange process, with the target’s life flashing before their eyes before they’re suddenly pulled back into a mortal form, and thus it roughly correlates with how long someone has been alive. It would take much longer to resurrect Andrew or the Dryad compared to, say, Becca or Heather.

2) It’s not an exact science, but those who are resurrected tend to appear someplace close to home. Not necessarily in their bed or something to that capacity, but always in the general vicinity. Their body doesn’t physically reappear until just before they reawaken, and it can be a disorienting process.

3) Relief, lots of crying. Resurrection isn’t unheard of, but is usually reserved for those who die a truly wrongful death before their time, local heroes, and Guides. It is never a given that someone will be brought back to life, and is in fact rather uncommon.

Those closely linked to Terraria are well-used to being tugged whichever which way for whatever business. Chris got it to a more extreme extent, with a strong pull and weird dreams, while someone who’s more in-tune to Terraria’s will such as the Dryad will intuitively know and follow.

Andrew didn’t have any particular business. Rather, he was pulled to go there, and when he came, he saw many potential reasons why, including the whole “cult” thing (and the Lunatic Cultist in particular), the local Corruption, particular placement relative to certain structures in the Underworld, and so on. He even went around the region looking for anyone who fit the bill of a hero, best he could tell, but found nothing promising until Chris showed up.

Yep!! At the moment I’m planning to introduce her in the next chapter? We’ll see!

Corruption isn’t uncommon, but there are few regions that are being actively threatened by it: it’s rather stable and reserved in its growth, so beyond encouraging folks not to go to such areas, it’s mostly ignored. Most patches are also relatively small; if anything, it’s a bit larger in the area by Purity Town just because the region is relatively unsettled and has been left unchecked for years and years.

Pre-Cthulhu/War, the Corruption was far more common and spread more aggressively, but there were also hundreds of Dryads who could cure it with a wave of their hand to keep it in check. That isn’t...really an option, anymore, for obvious reasons, but since with most of the ancient spirits locked away the Corruption isn’t nearly as dangerous as it once was, it’s not a world-ending concern by any means.

I’m not sure if I’ll have Chris go through all of the optional boss fights! Maybe in a boss rush montage? Ultimately it’s just a lot of time to dedicate to something, so I would prefer to be selective in what we focus on...maybe in an addition to the ficlets series?

As for your second question -- assuming slimes are able to channel magic/absorb the power of the things they contain, then I like the idea that they can specifically hold/maintain items in them to achieve a particular effect. Such as the Queen Slime with a crystal, and smaller slimes with creatures such as zombies. So perhaps he’s more so merged/been incorporated into King Slime? Very dead, but his abilities remain.

Take that with a grain of salt, though! It’s very late and I haven’t thought it through a whole bunch.

There’s quite a list to go through, including a lot of NPCs that I haven’t thought up a lot of lore for, but to generally summarize, it’s a mix of things! The region containing Purity Town (and a smattering of smaller villages within the different biomes) is relatively new, in the sense that it hasn’t had a significant modern settlement until recently. So most of the locals have moved there to get out of their hometowns, experience something new, and so on!

This is super kind of you to share; I’m super super happy you’re enjoying this comic so much! I’ve said it before, but like -- the whole point of this is me getting excited and having fun with my ideas for NPCs, so it makes me really delighted that other folks are enjoying it too.

I do apologize for being on and off with updates as of late, but I’ve been very busy with school. Good news is that the semester is over in less than a month, and then I’ll be fully free for the summer and can work on things more!

I genuinely am so excited for those two fights in particular. Lunatic Cultist fight will have so much in the way of complex angles and spell effects...I probably wouldn’t be able to make it happen tomorrow, but we’re still quite a ways out from there, so fingers crossed that by the time we get there I’ll have had plenty of practice with all of the other boss fights!

And then the WoF fight...considering how this whole comic started because I wanted to draw my favorite NPC (Guide), if you can imagine, that whole scene has been written and re-written and planned and added on for the entirely of the time I’ve been working on this comic so far, and I can’t wait to finally get to draw it.

We’ll be getting into this more soon enough! But the short of it is that he’s always had a bit of magic to him, got involved with the dungeon cult, fell in too deep, and is now facing the consequences.

As a side note, while checking over the Old Man’s wiki page I noticed that apparently he specifically can’t drown. I’m not sure if that’s intentional or just a consequence of how Terraria is coded, but that alongside the whole ladybug luck mechanic interacting uniquely with the Clothier/Guide is now one of my favorites of the “random trivia facts that have lore implications” collection.

Well, Chris knows that there’s something up with Andrew -- and from his talks with Malik/Heather/Becca last chapter, he knows that Andrew suffers from burns that are in some way strange/inexplicable, supporting the theory that Andrew suffers from some sort of curse. Everything beyond that is…circumstantial at best.

Beyond that, Chris doesn’t want to agree with Malik’s theories that Andrew is some sort of monster -- Chris has put a lot of trust in Andrew’s character since he’s following Andrew’s guidance through all of this, and agreeing with Malik would call that advice into question.

It’s also possible that there’s a fairly benign explanation for Andrew’s current behavior; he’s honestly not acting all that strange right now. All Chris knows is that Andrew left in a hurry earlier, didn’t intend to be out for so long, and didn’t expect Chris to notice, and while coming off the heels of the previous night it’s a little questionable, Chris is more concerned than anything.

(M.I.) The Cafe as Blackie's mom-figure makes the Situations even funnier. Like the pushy mom who says her kid just HAS to give the neighbor's kid a chance. "Now you're gonna take that sweet young lady to the beach and you'll like it, mister!" "But mo-om!" And it makes that moment in the show when Frank calls The Cafe a dump and Blackie gets all snarky actually really sweet. You insulted his MOM, Frank. Jeez!

Oh, all my crushes...it's a good thing I'm both asexual and not prone to confusing fiction and reality, because I'd be murdered because of my own sex drive lmao...Frollo...The Cryptkeeper...this giant, vengeful zombie named Big Ben from an 80s horror comedy called House...The Horned King...Freddy...On the one hand, you've got all the creeps like that, and, ya know, Robert's whole Thing he's got going on. Then on the other, you've got my years long attraction to Hugh Dennis. That started with him playing just the worst, Gaston-like egomaniac on My Hero (which is the subject of my 3 years in the making longfic) but he's usually, like, a cuddly dad type. And I'm over here going "he's sometimes got gleeful serial killer vibes...I like that."

Hahaha XD That bit with Frank insulting the Cafe now reminds me of rhe bit in Final Chapter when Drew insults the Bickerman cabin saying Mrs Bickerman wasn't a good housekeeper (and, but the way, fuck him for that- ) and Jim gets all up-in-arms about it. That's no way to talk about the dead, son.

What do you believe you enjoy writing the most? Motion! Fighting, dancing, moving around. I also, and this is a very silly thing to say, have a tendency to absolutely love my partners’ writing in general. I get very engrossed with how to gel with my partner, and make the writing mesh together. I like referencing old threads, old dialogue lines, completing sentences or thoughts that were left in the cursory. I also enjoy personalizing a character’s narration or writing style based on their mind set.

Do you have a fan/air conditioning on right now? I have my aircon turned on, yeah. The colder weather flew by in the blink of an eye and now it's back to being hot and humid and gross and needing to have some sort of ventilation in front of my face 24/7.

Over the years and as those kids got older and started leaving me alone, I warmed up to my name and now think it's pretty badass.

We met to discuss my resignation - she was offering all sorts of counterproposals, from a sabbatical to an all expense paid trip to anywhere I want - and on my end my goal was to be able to make her understand why any offer from here would be met by a firm no from me, as shitty as I feel about it.

How long have you gone without sleep? Like, today? I've only been up for around 14 hours.

Can you drive yet? How good are you at it? I can drive, but idk, when can you start self-claiming that you're a good driver haha?? I'd say I keep careful while knowing how to use my tiny car to my advantage, but I do get major anxiety when I have to merge or switch lanes. That shit takes me way too long to accomplish hah.

Do you prefer travelling alone or with people? With people. I can barely take care of myself and know it would be a mess if I ever tried traveling on my own. It's something I want to try, of course, but I'm also well aware of my own watchouts for myself lol.

Did you listen to the radio today? Briefly when I got into my Grab rides to and from the office. I ended up listening to my own music both times.

Do you prefer cold or room temperature drinking water? Freezing water, once it reaches BARELY room temperature, it's disgusting to me.

Did you ever go to daycare as a kid? Very briefly, I think for literally a day; it was such an upsetting experience for toddler me that I STILL remember it. First of all, I had very severe separation anxiety from my mom, so I was already upset, and I eventually got scolded and my hand slapped by a guardian (teacher? idk) for going into the "wrong" room, which I had zero way of knowing when you consider other kids were in it playing, like I was. I was in the passenger's seat, and few experiences I've had match the level of afraid I was. Realistically I shouldn't forgive him for putting our lives on the line like this.

Why I chose my url: I felt like a change and was watching an old Edwige film where her character was accused of being a "coquette", and I sorta can behave like a coquette (in the original sense, not the Internet Type™ ) and wanted something a little dark, so added "malefique" bc it felt right. 4) Do you have any OCs? Do you have a story for them?

Yes and also no! I'm currently in the "if I publish something, there's a good chance it'll be fanfic with the serial numbers filed off" boat, because I keep getting sucked into writing fanfic hahaha. But I do have a few OCs that I would love to write something about - they were DnD characters that never got used, but that means they get to be repurposed haha! These are two of my faves:

Ezekiel - he/him, trans & gay cowboy lad who was a dnd bardbarian (bard/barbarian). He weilds a sword, a gun, and a banjo. A soft gentleman in his 30s who plays music for his friends around the campfire when he's not raging in battle. His story is roughly: was in a party/gang, fell in love with another member of his gang, and eventually decided to retire. His lover did not retire with him, and so Ezekiel lives on a farm by himself and tries not to be lonely. A story with him would be an old west novel, and probably focus on themes of finding family, maybe finding his old love (or starting anew), and getting off his farm and back into the world a little bit.

Tor - she/they, goliath barbarian (can u tell I have dnd class preferences). Weilds a one-handed battle axe, because her other hand was bitten off in a battle with a monster that also claimed the life of her kid sister. Tor is currently on a self-imposed exile, lending out their axe and their skills to travellers who may need them in an attempt to do some good in the world. They're big, quiet, and a bit awkward. A story featuring them would also focus on finding a home and maybe a bit of healing.

i think giroud being third best scorer at the world cup gave people unrealistic expectations for him. anyone who saw the state of the team and thought he'd be able to save us has no football knowledge at all. i love him but even messi or mbappe would've struggled so how can they expect giroud to carry us???? we should've never gotten to the point of depending on him like that but it's just easier to blame random players instead of addressing the root of the problem

hahaha i'm not sure it was entirely the wc that gave people expectations? but it's true he performed very well there of course and like you said, there's really no comparison between the french "superteam" and the current state of milan. the impression i get is that some people are upset giroud isn't scoring 20+ goals per season, when in reality he is not and has never been that type of player (excl. that one montpellier season which was literally over 10 years ago). of course we Do Need that type of striker if we want to succeed and it's what i'm really hoping for in the summer mercato, but giroud was never meant to play that role so imo it's dumb to point fingers at him for when it inevitably doesn't deliver.

^^^ and exactly this... i believe that clubs like this function like a top-down system, where by and large most problems can be traced back to the management. but some people just like to complain about what's right in front of their eyes instead of thinking more deeply
