So here's what I noticed also was sitting in the 4th row of orchestra section so I was really close to the stage.

Act 1

Rose and James hug when the Granger Weasleys arrive.

After Albus leaves for the train Ginny reaches out for Harry's hand and he grabs it. (not that serious but I just adore them)

During the wand dance (didn't notice this the other times I went) Polly whispers "you're an embarrassment" "squib" and "get away" to Albus and when he tries to go to Rose for help quickly she makes a face at him and turns away.

Ginny laughs with James when she sees his hair a mouths "invisibility cloak" with him.

Ginny raises an eyebrow at when he goes with the love potion and blanket then Harry nods at Ginny as he goes to give Albus the blanket and that's when she turns to leave.

Albus sniffing Rose when Scorpius says she smells of bread then shakes his head no.

Scorpius does a little bow after Albus calls him an enormous geek.

When they see the trolley witch Albus grabs Scorpius' hood and tries to pull him back but he also just keeps a constant hold of him until the jumping off part.

When Amos threatens them and Scorpius pulls Albus towards him, Albus holds Scorpius' hand on his shoulder then motions for them to leave.

After Delphi kisses his forehead Amos looked dazed for a bit before he continues.

Draco tears up a bit and covers his mouth after saying Scorpius is his sole heir and only family.

When they're looking at Hogwarts from the edge of the forbidden forest and Scorpius says "...just like Harry Potter. And I got his son." Albus looks down and turns his head from Scorpius

Then when he says the "I'm nothing like my dad" line Scorpius tilts his head to the left and right and then tells him that he's better.

Hermione leans in towards Ron when he keeps repeating love/lovely then catches herself and shakes her head.

Scorpius was reaching a hand out to Albus after the hospital wing scene but quickly pulled back and flinched when Harry said he's all cured.

Scorpius constantly reaching out for Albus during the staircase ballet and Albus looking and waiting for Scorpius first before quickly turning away.

Craig turning around, shaking his head, and shrugging after hearing Albus and Scorpius are in the girls bathroom together. I love a king who minds his business (he definitely wanted to gossip about it with though)

i have a couple of thoughts and i do not know how plausible they actually are, but

-- i think that Edmund Creen was behind the plot to switch Will and Katherine as children. possibly. i might be crazy, but i feel like somebody had to have orchestrated all of that, and somebody had to sent that servant from the very beginning to tell Will about the Stewards. the servant claimed that Will's mother sent him, but she KNEW that Will was NOT blood of the lady. she knew that he was not the savior they were looking for. she wanted Will dead, she wanted the world protected from him, and she would not have sent anyone to take him to the Hall. right?? but someone had to do that. i feel like Edmund is gonna be the chess master, the spider at the center of the web, pulling all the strings to orchestrate exactly what he wants to happen in a con that he's been running for almost two decades.

-- i think it's possible that Katherine might not be dead, or could be resurrected. if i recall correctly, her death by the corrupted blade didn't resemble the deaths from the beginning of the book when it was unsheathed. those were more sickness, like they were rotting from the inside out or something, and they just died. but Katherine was petrified. she essentially turned to stone. like the tree at the Hall. the tree that Elizabeth brought back to life with her touch. i'm JUST SAYING. it's within the realm of possibility.

-- i think, and this might just be wishful thinking on my part cuz i love angst, but I THINK that at some point in the series (maybe or maybe not in book 2) James will get collared. i don't know if Will will be the one to do it or what the circumstances would be, but Pacat cannot possibly just dangle that in front of us without following through on the fucked up promise of it, and i think he has the balls to do it. no idea how anyone would come back from it, but COME ON, GIMME THAT, I NEEEED IT.

-- i think that James genuinely doesn't know who Will is. we don't have confirmation one way or the other in the text yet, but we already got the surprise twist of "i knew all along actually" in Captive Prince. i don't think Pacat would retread that ground, and the sheer horror and betrayal of James finding out too late what he's done, what Will knowingly allowed him to do, what Will may or may not have intentionally led him to do, will be fucking delicious.

-- i think we'll be introduced to the 4th King or a descendant of him in DH. Pacat said that his favorite character in the series would be introduced in this book, and i think it's very possible it will be this person. the lost 4th king was said to return when their need was greatest, or something like that, and i expect DH to get pretty fucking dire, if we know anything about Pacat's narrative structure where trilogies are concerned 😂 also just more Reborns in general. it was said or implied that the Dark King killed a lot of his people intending for them to be reincarnated with him, but we've only gotten the one so far in James (two if we count the horse, which i do uwu), so i'm hoping/expecting to get more of them.

-- i think we'll get some kind of insight into the past. how much, i'm not sure, if Will and James will get clear memories of their entire past lives or if they'll get muddled flashbacks and feelings. we don't know how strong the buried past might be, if the whole personality/identity is in there waiting to take over or if it's something subtler. i'm hoping for subtler myself. there's a lot of possibilities, but i expect we'll start getting some answers and a lot of complications, and i'm looking forward to seeing what direction Pacat goes with it all.

probably 2 for the relationships and whacky plot hijinks and its the one i think about the most now, but i did really miss the tactical parts of dao, so that's my fav gameplay

The fic may start or revolve heavily around 4th/5th year.

Draco eventually stands up for Harry and/or Harry/Susan protect him from idiot Slytherins saying that blood matters more than HogHouse.

Harry doesn't return to Privet Drive... or if he does, he is quickly rescued from it.

The adults in the fic want to protect the kids from the war, but are having to delicately balance their jobs (Amelia as head of Aurors), alliances (with the Order/Wizengamot), and safety (who controls Fidelius charms, blood wards, muggleborns, etc). Probably other reasons I am forgetting.

Sirius, Narcissa, Andromeda, and Amelia may have an amazing scene where they come into Great Hall as a family and demand Dumbles backs off one of his dumber ideas... this most likely was about the Triwizard Tournament, Dementors, or Umbridge.

Harry tells Sirius about the blood quill (reluctantly) and this may be where Sirius and Amelia have their big fight because Dumbledore can't/won't do anything.

this is gonna sound like utter CLOWN behavior but the reason i became an ateez stan in the first place is literally because of jongho. and that was before i was fully aware of his vocal capabilities. once i heard him sing i knew i was a lost cause, and i think that's beautiful. i bought a concert ticket last year when i was just getting into them and one month later i met them at the hi wave and the rest is literally history (shoutout to wooyoung for bias wrecking me so thoroughly that night)

bear with me cause i am running on little sleep and 5h of nonstop work, and i don't know if this is necessarily unpopular, but i think jongho really is the 4th gen ace. and the reason why no one even dares to think that or believe it is because his focus is on vocals and not performance. you know what i am talking about, but i am still gonna elaborate. jongho is a great dancer, a monster performer, a one of a kind vocalist and the 4th gen vocalist, and his vocals equal what dancing is to taemin, who, is. y'know. the original ace. he is so talented, but he isn't a super flashy performer nor does he feed into fanservice the way other members or people considered aces, like baekhyun, do, so he gets ignored for the most part instead. he really so strongly resembles taemin in terms of positioning in the group and his talents (just with different focus), that i believe he well and truly deserves the title 4th gen ace, and i will go down with that opinion. there is not a single vocalist in the 4th gen that can do what jongho does, except maybe taeil whom i'd barely count as 4th gen to begin with.

Today I wish to propose new pronouns.

More specifically, I want to persuade as many people as possible to adopt a genderless pronoun system because I think it would be neat, cool, and also good.

My proposition begins with the basic singular and plural "they", with a couple small tweaks.

For plural "they," I propose adding -s to the end of "they" and "them" to create "theys" and "thems." ("Theys are going hiking and theys brought snacks with thems.") The reason for this is to add a subtle distinction between the singular and plural versions. Yes, I'm aware that this will often blend into the surrounding sounds when spoken. I still think it will be useful.

For singular "they," I propose keeping the pronouns themselves the same but make the verbs around thems conjugate to the singular. ("They is eating lunch alone. They is content with their sandwich.") The reason for this is, again, to distinguish between the two "they" pronoun sets.

So the idea here is that there is no gender or personal identity attached to pronouns. They are just neutral reference terms. I believe this is for the best because it takes very little for humans to discriminate against people who are in an "other" category, and any pronouns attached to a specific feature (or identity) of a person are gonna end up being used to categorize. That's not a world ending catastrophe, but I still think its a better option over all to not have people categories baked into our everyday language.

But I'm not done yet.

Because, you see, my proposal above does create a small problem. And that problem is distinguishing between multiple people in a narrative.

"Alex approached Sky and put their hands on their hips."

Did Alex put Alex's hands on Sky's hips? Did Alex put Sky's hands on Alex's hips? Did Alex put Alex's hands on Alex's hips? Did Alex put Sky's hands on Sky's hips?

All are possible. Some of those are very different scenes. We need to be able to distinguish these scenarios from each other more effectively.

So what is the solution? I propose obviative pronouns. What does that mean? Well, according to wikipedia;

In other words, obviative pronouns indicate that a person is less central to the current discussion. This can be based on narrative significance (like a superhero getting the proximate [more central] pronouns and their sidekick getting an obviative [less central] set), or even just on the order in which people appeared in the story.

Because They/Them pronouns are already familiar, that one should be the Proximate set. It wouldn't really change anything significant about the way They/Them pronouns are used, except the singular conjugations described above.

Next, the obviative sets. Multiple. Though many of thems will be rarely used because you rarely have to distinguish between more than two people like this. It will still be useful for further obviations to exist just in case someone wants to tell a wildly confusing story and needs thems all.

1st obviative set: Zey/Zem/Zeir/Zeirs/Zemself

2nd obviative set: Hey/Hem/Heir/Heirs/Hemself

3rd obviative set: Shey/Shim/Sher/Shers/Shimself

4th obviative set and above: Dey/Dem/Der/Ders/Demself

Now also in order for this to work, we need a way to mark which character gets which pronoun set. Context clues could work, but what I think would be more effective is a prefix system. So, when a character is first introduced you use the subject pronoun as a prefix (for example: they-Batman and zey-Robin), then you never have to mark the names like that again in the story. In fact, if context already communicates it the prefixes can be omitted entirely. Its simply a tool to keep things clear.

So back to the example sentence using this obviation system,

"they-Alex approached zey-Sky and put zeir hands on their hips."

That pronoun change makes it clear what is going on in the scene. Arguably, the prefixes could be omitted here because you can assume that Alex would get the proximate set based on them being the subject. But for the sake of demonstration I made sure to keep thems in.

Anyway I'm done talking about linguistics stuff now. I'm gonna call this approach to pronouns "Moopsis Pronouns" because I can. I hope you use thems, it would make me happy to see.

ACOTAR Theories and Opinions

So, after going down the rabbit holes of various ACOTAR tags on this hellsite, I’ve decided to throw myself over a cliff, and posit some theories and opinions about the series and what we might see in future books. Please be nice, y’all; I’ve seen the viciousness of some of the tags, and y’all need to please calm down. Thank you.

Wildcard theory: Eris winds up mated to a super spunky human, and invokes the Blood Duel when Beron tries to “intervene” in typical Beron fashion.

Theory: Eris WILL wind up mated to SOMEONE in one of the next books, and when he becomes High Lord of Autumn, he will make her his High Lady because Rhys can’t be the only one with a High Lady at his side.

Theory: Elain and Lucien ARE endgame. I think the reason why she hasn’t worked things out with the poor man is because she has Ye Olde Archeron Pride to an even greater degree than her sisters; I personally don’t think it has anything to do with her seer powers or what happened with the cauldron. She’s just let it drag on so long at this point, she doesn’t quite know what to do, and isn’t going to ask for help (like 2 other ladies we know *cough* Feyre *cough* Nesta).

Opinion: Elain is the most underestimated of the sisters. She’s seen as 2 dimensional through the narratives of both Feyre and Nesta, yet she was the one who was willing for the human queens to meet at their estate. She was the one who voiced first what bitches the queens were (I hope they go to hell). She is someone who IS NOT afraid to get her hands dirty (obsessive gardener, who does every part of working a garden, and not just clipping flowers). SHE FEARLESSLY STABBED THE KING IF HYBERN THROUGH THE THROAT. Elain is horribly underestimated because she is pretty, quiet, and does pretty girl things. Let me tell ya, homegirl is gonna EXPLODE in the next book BECAUSE:

Theory: Now that Nesta has surrendered her stolen power back to the cauldron, ELAIN IS MORE POWERFUL THAN NESTA. Remember, folks, the cauldron GAVE to Elain powers because she was so beautiful (the way SJM described it in the books, it was almost like the cauldron was in love with her). That’s why Elain and Lucien are mates: he is heir to the High Lord of Day, and she is cauldron-blessed with powers that make her his equal. I do believe Elain will come into her powers, and it will be epic; no, I don’t subscribe to dark Elain, she is far too principled to be tempted in that way.

Theory: Helion and Lady of Autumn get mated and married after Beron’s untimely, surprisingly brutal, violent, demise due to 100% natural circumstances that have nothing to do with him being chopped up into little pieces and fed to the beasts under the Court of Nightmares.

Wildcard Theory: Nesta has triplets, and Cassian passes out when she’s in the middle of labor. Rhys and Azriel never let him forget.

Theory: Jurian and Vassa get together.

Theory: We find out what the hell Eris was hinting at with the full story of him and Mor. Because, ya know, fae are such FUCKING DRAMA QUEENS THAT THEY WAIT 500 FUCKING YEARS BEFORE RESOLVING JACK SHIT.

Theory: Mor and Emerie become mates. SJM will skim over that, and the excellent fanfic writers on this hellsite, Ao3, and other sites will write the love story that Mor deserves.

Theory: Azriel and Gwynn will become mates, and he will finally reckon with his past, instead of avoiding it like he’s been doing for 500 YEARS.

Theory: Amren and Varian will become mates, and they will have a disgustingly over the top mating/wedding ceremony that basically all of Prythian is invited to (wedding ceremony because Varian wants to call Amren “My Wife”, and it HAS to be official).

Wildcard Theory: Eris and Tarquin become mates, and are the first joint rulers of 2 courts.

Wildcard Theory: Lucien becomes High King, with Elain as his High Queen.

Theory: The 4th piece of the trove that Nesta sorta saw, but couldn’t make out, is a horn. Remember, there were the not so subtle references to the Hunt? It’s a horn, like one used for hunting, or for battle. This horn is currently in either the human realm, or completely off-world in one of SJM’s other fictional worlds.

The Forgotten Shounen: Katekyo Hitman Reborn

This is not a “Why you should watch/read khr” or anything like that. This is just me going into the deep dive and throwing my findings at you. I’m making this because khr used to be my favourite series when I was 15 (I had plushees, posters, tradingcards, the art book etc) and now as an adult I constantly find myself baffled at how unknow it seems to be.

1. Okay first what is khr?

Katekyo Hitman Reborn! or just Reborn! is a series by Akira Amano which was published in Weekly Shounen Jump from 2004 to 2012 (with 42 volumes) and got an anime adaption which run from 2006 to 2010 on Tv Tokyo (with 202 episodes and one OVA).

2. What’s it about?

Khr is a parody of the italian mafia and plays in a world where the mafia is heavily influencial. The protagonist is the japanese middle schooler Sawada Tsunayoshi who is known as “No good Tsuna” because of his failing grades, general weak and cowardly personality and weak physics.

He becomes aware of the mafia world when a 2 year old baby called Reborn arrives at his house claiming to be the greatest hitman and declaring himself his home tutor. Reborn was send by the 9th head of the Vongola famiglia who is ready to retire and looking for a new heir. Which of course, is supposed to be Tsuna and now it's Reborns job to shape him into a worthy sucessor.

Tsuna rejects the violence of the mafia world and refuses the position as the 10th. Thanks to Reborn and his general craziness Tsuna meets different people and starts to make real friendships. Reborn wants 6 of those friends to be Tsuna's future guardians, basically a group of people which will be closest to him in the vongola famiglia. Tsuna might have no interest in those positions but the friendships he builds with them become really precious to him.

Reborns arrivial also brings in the enemies of the Vongola family which leads to Tsuna being forced to engage in battles. Generally Tsuna openly avoids fights and prefers to run away but will put himself in danger for his friends' sake or because of something Reborn did.

Through out the series Tsuna matures and gains strenght but he never becomes a power fantasy. He's just a guy with many flaws who grows through the human connections he makes.

Personally I think the relationship between Reborn and Tsuna is one of the best student teacher reltaionships in all of manga only topped by Mob and Reigen from Mob Psycho 100. Especially the last arc really underlines their unique relationship to me.

Furthermore, khr offers a new and unique battle system: The flames. I'm not gonna go into to too much detail but the general idea is that one fights with their dying will flame which basically turns off your the savety switch so you can fight with everything you have. The flames are seperated into different categories such as: sky, storm, mist, rain, sun, lightning and cloud and have different attributes asigned to each one. Tsuna's use of the sky flame and his transformation when using it is still one of my favourite shounen transformations to this day.

3. What happened?

The series did really well and then not so well over the course of its serialisation. After the manga got an anime adaption it increased in populairty and video games, light novels, and other products such as CDs were created based on the series. Reborn is one of the best selling series of Weekly Shōnen Jump and has sold around 30 Million volumes overall. It was and still is very popular in Japan but rather unknown in the west.

According to the article "The Rise and Fall of Weekly Shonen Jump: A Look at the Circulation of Weekly Jump" khr was the 10th bestselling series in Weekly Shōnen Jump, with a total of 7 million copies sold in 2007.

This number increasing to 15 milion in 2008. Which placed khr into the 4th best selling series of 2008 in Japan.

Between 2008 and 2010 those sales declined but still kept strong with khr as the 6th top selling manga in 2009, 8th best selling in 2010 and then 24th best selling in 2012.

In November 2014, readers of the Da Vinci magazine voted khr number 17 on a list of Weekly Shōnen Jump's greatest manga series of all time.

After the anime came to an apprupt stop in 2010 for unknown reasons the manga sells took a visible hit. (Apparently the studio wanted to put the anime on halt because they were busy with other projects and give Akira Amano time to develop her story but I couldn't find any source for this claim) Furthermore, the rushed last chapters of the manga in 2012 declined the popularity of the series even more. There's no offical statement as to why the manga was ended in such a way but it's reasonable to assume that Jump either cut it considering the decreasing sales or Akira Amano choose to end it for personal reasons.

Nontheless, Tsuna not being included in Jump Force (a fighting game where you can play as different characters from Jump) in 2019 even tho he made it in earlier Jump Stars games also underlines the decreased interest in the series.

Rumors on a reboot or anime adaption of the last two arcs surface from time to time but are genereally unlikely. Artland the studio which made khr has gone bankrupt around 2015-2016. It might be taken on by another studio but rather uncommen especially with such an old series.

4. Art style

The khr anime ended over 10 years ago and the old art style might not be appealing to newer audiences.

Especailly because the anime adaption follows Akira Amanos old art style which heavily developed within the years. Here a picture comparing characters in the new art style:

A modern anime adaption in the new art style would be aesthetically pleasing. It would probably look similiar to Psycho Pass since Akira Amano did the concept art for this series.

(My personal art student hot take is that both art styles are unique and fun. Up to this day Akira Amano still has my favourite art style and even if the amount folds in the characters clothing is a little extreme I love it dearly.)

5. Criticism

The show is not without flaws and even if I greatly enjoy it it wouldn't be right not to adress them.

Daily Life Arc:

A lot of people view the first 20 to 25 episodes as fillers and quickly lose intererst in the series. This is due to the fact that Akira Amano inteded the series to be a gag manga and focuses the first chapters on world building, character introduction and comical narratives. It's rumored that the decision to develop the story into a battle shounen was made because the sales weren't doing well enough at first. So the first chapters/episodes may seem titidious but are necessary for the story and the development of the characters. The tonal shift from a more gintama like gag manga to a darker battle focused story can also be offputting to some viewers.

Either way a lot of people blame this arc when discussing why khr never got an english dub or didn't end up on Toonami. I've also read that the manga never finished serializing in the north america. However, it finished in other western languages like german and spanish.

Censoring:

The anime censors A LOT. From Gokudera's smoking habit, Yamamoto's whole character arc which deals with heavy themes such as depression and suicidal thoughts. The general bloodiness of the manga was censored and sometimes whole chapters and characters were left out even if those were important to the devolopment of others.

Filler episodes:

Out of the 202 episodes the anime has around 29 filler episodes which makes roughly 14 %.

Sexism:

Even if Reborn was written by a woman most female characters are rather flat and their storylines often tied to a male character in one way or another.

Genereal things:

Khr, like many other long running series, is sometimes criticised for a lack of world building or unpopular narrative choices.

6. Hope?

Khr isn't exactly dead. As stated before the series is still very popular in Japan and still gets new merch pretty regulary. There are also petitions floating around for a reboot or a new anime season but those never get a lot of traction. Furthermore #Reborn2期アニメ化 (#Reborn2ndAnimation) used to get some traction on twitter not too long ago. Last year the Anime News Network did a poll on which anime the readers would like to see a rebooot of and khr placed second.

Either way here's a collection of recent khr things I could find.

- In 2018 a new bluray set was released in north america

- The khr stage play reached yet another new season

- A mobile game was released last year

- Currently ongoing anime cafe event called "Concerto di Vongola"

- Last month there was an event with the former VAs and stage play actors where they discussed their favourite khr episodes.

- There has been an increase in blind reacts to the openings on youtube which might bring in a new fan base. The biggest one I could find had around 90k views and was made in 2019. On this note check out the soundtrack. The first openeing Drawing Days by SPLAY still makes me go insane (but I'm biased of course)

There also renewed hope for a new season/reboot because Shaman King, Inuyasha and Bleach got anounced for new seasons after a long hiatus. It's important to keep in mind that the circumstances for those series are differnt tho. For example bleachs new anime is often tied to the immense success of the gatcha game.

7. Conclusion

Khr is a series which used to be a flagship for Weekly Shounen Jump and is deeply beloved by it's fans, especially in Japan. It influenced other shounen series like bnha. It would be nice to see it gaining a bigger fanbase in the west :)

Hey, do you ship vassien? If you don’t, you can just ignore it. But anyways, I have got a few questions

Even though I am shipping them hard, how would the fact that she is mortal (and a queen) and he is an immortal (and the heir of a court and a whole plot around it) work out? Him giving up his immortality would ruin the day court plot as much as him being a king with her in the mortal lands, and shouldn’t her go rule her kingdom after she is free?

Even though the thing with him being in the fae lands and she in the mortal lands can be fixed with more easily (I guess ????), the immortality thing is still a problem to me.

What do you think about all of that?

I am very curious about Vassien. I just don't exactly know how Jurian plays into the whole thing, but I really want to learn more about the relationship and especially about Vassa.

So with the immortality thing--I dont think it needs to be anyone giving anything up. It's been done before in TOG. Not gonna mention who, to avoid spoilers.

But in my mind there are a few options:

Vassa steals/takes immortality from Koschei. We know/assume based on Elain's visions and Russian folklore, that Koschei keeps his immortality, or rather his death, in a box. It's separate from him. So to kill him, you need to get that box. Now, in the world of fantasy, it would be very possible that whoever has the box, has immortality.

When the Bone Carver was talking about his big bro Koschei and how he got trapped in the lake, it was done by a 'female Fae warrior whose line still lives in humans'. Logical assumption is that Vassa is part of that line. Fae are immortal--could Vassa already be immortal? We don't know that she isn't.

This is pure speculation, but let's say Elain's power is Life, as opposed to Nesta's and Azriel's 'death'. Is she able to grant immortality, or at least extremely long lives? I don't know, but she is also buddy-buddy with the Cauldron, which grants immortality.

Bringing back Miryam and Drakon--who are connected to Jurian, who is now immortal, btw, just like Miryam, who was human and is now immortal--but Drakon resurrected Miryam with some mysterious object of great power. Is that the 4th Trove? Who knows? But we DO know that there are objects out there that grant immortality.

If Vassa and Lucien have children, they can eventually inherit whatever kingdom/land in the human lands that Vassa governs (though it did say that her kingdom is gone, so we'll see how that turns out), but since I dont really want Helion to die any time soon, Vassien can rule the human lands, until such time comes that Lucien has to take the reigns of power in Prythian. Also, I feel like it would be nice to have a dual ruling couple in the Human Lands, kind of like Feyre and Rhys in Prythian and show that there is equality. Because in Prythian, it's just males who rule, and in the human lands, it's just females. How about both? in both places?

So I hope this helped. There are definitely immortality options for Vassa!

I don’t think this job is going to work out. If you have the patience to read through all my concerns and problems with my work, then please tell my your opinion on it I’m actually really wanting some advice or thoughts on what to do here.

So, last week was my first week, and they trained me 3 days as a dietary aide (what I applied and was hired for.) and on day for they just let me work on my own along with my fave cook, we’ll call her “K” for this post. I did good on my 4th day, but still had a lot I needed to memorize bc it’s really important to learn what each patient likes, dislikes, can have, and can’t have. I felt decent after my 4th day and practiced memorizing more stuff on my 2 days off, and felt like I’d do even better as an aide on my 5th day.

Well, my boss had me come in at 4am today and showed me how to do breakfast all by myself as an aide AND cook. Then when the actual cook “T” showed up, my boss told her “I’m gonna have you train liz to be a cook today. Try to have her trained completely in the next 3 days. And cook T was like “what!!!!!!” she wasn’t prepared at all to train me. I felt so awkward and in the way, but made a roast, cut up and roasted abt 40 potatoes, made a massive tray of garlic bread from scratch, and a cake all by myself. all of it was a success, but I really am not confident enough to be a cook here.It’s very hard to get all of it ready on time and again this is NOT what I was hired to do!!!

Another thing is that cooks make more money than the aides, but I am not being paid a cook’s wage when I’m cook, I just get paid my aide wage. They don’t see what the big deal is but umm...I DO! I’m supposed to go in again at 4am tomorrow and do it all again, then the day after that it’s just going to be me in the kitchen doing everything by myself! Two jobs at once! 

I am already dreading work now and it’s only my 5th day. The kitchen is small, sweltering, and just...not good. all the other aides and cooks are unreliable except for K, and I really do like her but my boss is already talking about making me and K head over the kitchen bc my boss is trying to get a kidney transplant asap, and when/if she does, show won’t be able to work for at least 4 months. I understand her desperation to have me be able to do both jobs, but it’s all too much too fast. I have not been trained properly except for one day by K. I take any job I do seriously and want to do it right and they don’t seem to care about me doing it right, they just want me there to cover their shifts.

I still feel apprehensive about putting in my two weeks notice so soon despite having no schedule, never knowing what I’ll be doing each day or who I’ll be working with, not being paid accurately, etc. bc I really do like K and don’t want to leave her with everything on her shoulders, and I feel bad for my boss bc of her kidney transplant struggle. Plus I’ve already gotten to know some of the residents and so many are so funny and precious.

But in all honesty, I do not see this job getting any better for me. They’re already piling on so much and I still don’t even know where half of our damn ingredients and utensils are bc no one will show me and if I ask they rarely have the time. I hate the absurd ordeal they make you go through every time you sign in, clock in, sign out, clock out. and so much more that’s a whole bunch of nothing. Their covid safety stuff is all for show none of them actually take the proper precautions. 

There’s so, so, so, SO much more messed up with my job and the entire company. I’m already so sick of it. I want a steady stable schedule. I don’t want to have to text my boss 5 times a day every day asking if I work tomorrow and what time, and then wait 6 hours to get response from her. Plus, my grandparent’s and a couple of neighbors I help are needing more and more care lately and now I don’t have enough time to do their shopping, clean heir houses, etc. I feel so low. I would much rather work at a store or something than here. I’m just so nervous and flat-out afraid to put in my two weeks notice so soon. I’m really agonizing over this. :(
