Watching the GOP trying to pivot and find targeting on Kamala that the Average Voter™ would agree with is hilarious. It's largely been clips of out of context moments where she laughs awkwardly about bad jokes she made. A few mentions that she never won a primary and are their best hits. They have nothing else outside of dog whistles, and those guys were always voting Trump. Like we hate her here for her being a cop, but the GOP can't fucking angle 'cops bad' to their base. As awful as 'tough on crime' rhetoric is, it's immensely popular with the exact kind of people who are swing voters. Even the attention from the attempted assassination was basically lost as all the focus shifted to Biden's decision. Theres suddenly a momentum around the DEM candidate we haven't seen since Obama. It feels like it went from an uphill fight to keep Trump out to a layup.

#obviously there's still obstacles #she's a mixed race black woman running for office in a country where like twelve states decide who's president #but Trump is still deeply unpopular #he's been fuming about the switch #he doesn't even want to debate her #cuz he knows he'll be the one that looks like a corpse if it happens #and they already spent all their budget on targeting Biden #and she's out raising them now #and all their targeting is still valid #idk #obviously her getting elected is just keeping the status quo from deteriorating faster #and MAYBE some slight gains somewhere #but I am not some purist who demands the President be bodhisattva

im so bummed because…Sakura probably has no pictures of himself until he came to town and as a person who takes pictures of everyone i know, its like. gotta make up for lost time at some point?

So you realize when looking through your own photo albums with him that he most definitely doesn’t have any himself if his bare apartment is anything to go by it’s now a mission. And any mission need the only the best of the best operatives so you text suo and nirei the next day and ask them to gather all the pictures they have from school, events, or just hangouts, and the three of you make a scrapbook of not JUST him but everyone in town he knows. It’s filled with tickets to movies he’d seen or promotional stuff from the opening of a new bakery in town they went to the first day it opened. You find out quick Nirei is the one who’s kept most of the extra stuff you put in there and that he has a few scrapbooks himself.

It ends up being a big, hulking thing but it’s well put together and there are pictures and items that even you didn’t know existed in it. It was probably a good idea to give it to him alone to because he tears up a bit, not full on crying but not a face he’d want anyone else seeing.

lmaoo since a recent documentary revealed that the far right was very popular with young voters in france on tiktok or reels and that some young women had voted for them because their main candidate was "handsome, and they saw a lot of cool vids of him" so to attract more people to the left now more and more people (mainly from various fandoms like kpop but they're also trying to rally the swifties) are making video edits (fancam style) of leftist mps - some of them literally have kpop song as bgm. we're all going mad but if kpop fandom marketing technics are the way to fight fascists then so be it I guess!

as much as i would love to give like. a comprehensive response i genuinely dont think i can get my words together just yet without it being a constant unintelligble stream of 'AND ANOTHER THING-' and bc it's become quite torn in the fandom on if the chapter was good or bad i want like. an actual coherent response here. so i will reblog this if/when i can word it but know IM NOT FUCKING HAPPY

#paragraphs and paragraphs about the villains' endings alone. hawks hpsc president. midoriya's ending #the fact hero society is barely changed and the changes that do happen feel very much TELLING the reader it happened #as opposed to actually showing us how society changed on it. this is smthn ik people will argue w me about #bc yes it was a 400+ chapter manga arguably showing us how society changed but like. did it actually show that #like do u honestly think any community would watch televised battles between TEENAGERS and bad guys #and have the majority of them go 'gah! i cant help but sympathise with the bad guy who just suckerpunched child extra no.28!'#so like. why are they all suddenly on board with massive systemic reinvention. where's the rage where's the bitterness #this wasn't a story on showing the villains as redeemable and working towards society sympathising with them #and slowly painfully coming to a conclusion where japan was ready to change as a COLLECTIVE #this was a story of showing a group of redeemable villains (first step CHECK) getting DEFEATED IN BATTLE #THEY ALL FUCKING DIED EXCEPT SPINNER AND PRESUMABLY COMPRESS #WE DONT EVEN FUCKING KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO DABI AT THE END ONLY THAT HE WAS PUT IN THE EXACT SAME POSITION #HE WAS IN WHEN HE WOKE UP FROM HIS COMA AND DABI WAS BORN.
