A Little into You (Junkyu x Reader) (Ch. 14)
Chapter 14 - Watchers
Word count: 5.2k words
Genre: Fanfiction, PG13, Comedy, Romance.
A/N: Hi! Chapter 14 is here YAY! Hope you all enjoy reading this one, I missed you all here 🧡
YGE Building (PEWA Comms Team Tour)
“And if you look to your right, we have another unused meeting room, slightly smaller than the one we use—” Bomin said as he guided your team’s tour.
You were initially in the front side of the tour group but because you had to wait for Chani to tie up his shoelaces, the both of you ended up being at the back of the line.
“Oh? Another meeting room?? That’s the 6th one Bomin has showed us today,” you said.
“Yeah, but this one is hardly ever used. It’s kinda small. People say no one uses this because it fits around 5-6 people and that it’s just a small room with table, chairs and a random huge mirror covering half of the walls,” Chani explained.
“Huh, with this amount of meeting rooms you all have I’m not surprised that some rooms are unused at this point,”
Chani shrugged at your comment, not really caring about the tour to be honest.
“You, in the back,” Bomin called out to the both of you since you were both slightly far behind the tour group by now, “If you both are gonna dawdle, might was well do your own tour. I’m not going to repeat anything that I’ve said, so if you get lost or anything, that’s on you,” he warned before he proceeds walking in the front of the group.
“Sheesh, what’s he so cranky about? It’s not like I don’t know my way around here,” you heard Chani mumble to himself.
You kept quiet on your own, just wanting to focus on the tour and not get into trouble.
The group tour came upon the elevators, which means that everyone will have to split into two groups and take separate elevators to tour the fourth floor next.
While everyone was busy deciding which elevators they want to take, you felt a hand pulling you away from the crowd.
It happened so quick—one second you were with your tour group, few seconds later you were already pulled towards the door that was leading to the staircases.
Chani pushed the door open and pulled you with him inside.
He closed the door and lets go of your arm.
“Sorry if I pulled you away too roughly,” he apologised.
You were too surprised to speak, also confused as to why he separated you both from the tour group.
Chani lets out a loud sigh and sat down on the steps of the staircase that was facing the both of you.
You looked around you. The walls of the staircases were made of glass, which meant that people could see you both from below if they looked this way.
“C-chani. We should go back to the tour group,” you said to him.
Chani, who wasn’t looking you, lets out another sigh, “Nah, I think they’ve all boarded the elevators. You can take the staircase if you want to reach the fourth floor on time as them,”
You nodded and proceeded towards the steps where Chani was sitting.
You lifted one foot to step on it.
Your eyes landed on Chani whom was sitting beside where you were standing by now.
“Hey, you okay?” you decided to ask.
Chani kept quiet for a while, contemplating whether he should tell you what was on his mind.
You stood there, awkwardly, not sure how long you had to wait for him to say anything, really.
And just as you were about to open your mouth to tell him it’s okay for him not to tell you what he was feeling, Chani got up from the steps and stood in front of you.
“Hey, Y/n,” he said, facing you, his height making you lifting your head slightly to look into his eyes.
“Yeah?”
“Want to skip the tour? I mean, I can show you around without us joining the tour group,”
You looked away, thinking to yourself if this was a good idea.
But then Chani is an intern here, you thought. Surely he knows the way around this building, right?
“Hmm. I guess, having you as my tour guide wouldn’t exactly be a horrible idea…”
Chani smiled at this and was about to guide you out of the staircase room when you interrupted his actions,
“But—”
Chani stopped and tilt his head, waiting for what you were going to say.
“I will only join this tour you’re giving if you can make it fun and fast and make sure we reach where the others once they are done with their tour. Think you can handle that?”
“Hmm, sounds like a challenge,”
“Well, then—”
“Challenge accepted!” Chani beamed as he grabbed your wrist and pulled you with him to enter the main hall of the floor again.
*
(Dance Practice Room / Treasure)
Hyunsuk lowered the volume of the music from their speakers. Turning around, he saw his members all panting and their skin all flushed from the dancing they did since the past hour.
“Okay, that’s an hour of non-stop dance practice! As promised, you’ll get an hour break before we practice for our second song,” Hyunsuk said to his friends.
All of them nodded at this.
Asahi immediately lays down on the cold floor, not moving since he was tired out from their intense practice earlier.
The rest of the boys hurried towards their bag, grabbing their drink and some grabbing their phones.
Jihoon walked up towards Hyunsuk, his phone in his hand.
“I think they did very well today, don’t you think so?” Hyunsuk said upon seeing his friend approaching him.
Taking a seat beside Hyunsuk on the cold floor, Jihoon hummed to his hyung’s question, “Yeah, I noticed everyone’s arms were almost in-sync with each other too,”
Hyunsuk smiled at this. He felt proud that their group was slowly but surely, growing really well.
“Ah, but I feel like something is off though,” Jihoon added in all of a sudden, making Hyunsuk turn his attention to his dongsaeng.
“Oh? Why? What is it?”
Jihoon shook his head. “Hmm, I’m not sure. But I feel like there’s something wrong with our kids today,”
Hyunsuk looked back at his members in front of him, all sprawled out on the cold floor, chatting and resting up with each other.
“Why so, Jihoon-aa? They look normal to me,”
“Well—”
Before Jihoon could answer his hyung’s question, Junghwan came up to Jihoon and Hyunsuk, an apologetic look on his face.
“Hyung…”
“Hm? What is it Junghwan-aa?” Hyunsuk asked.
“I uh, can I go to the restroom for a while?”
“Hm? Sure, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to go to the restroom,”
“Ah, okay, I’ll be right back, hyung,” Junghwan said as he hurried to leave the room.
But then, before he could step out of the doors of their practice room, he heard Jihoon’s voice calling him.
“Wait a minute, So Junghwan!”
Junghwan turned around, looking at his hyung’s face from afar since he was already in front of the practice room’s door.
“Come here,” Jihoon gestured for him to come back towards them.
Junghwan lets out a soft sigh and hurries towards his hyungs.
“What is it, hyung?”
“No, Hyunsuk-hyung, you see, this is the second time Junghwan’s been to the restroom in the last 2 hours we’ve been in this practice room,” Jihoon explained as Junghwan stood in front of them.
“Oh? Has it, really? I didn’t notice,” Hyunsuk said.
Junghwan could only smile at his hyungs at this point. Surely they didn’t notice, did they?
“But then again, I don’t see anything wrong with going to the restroom every hour though,” Hyunsuk added.
Junghwan nodded in agreement with his hyung.
Jihoon shook his head again at his hyung. “Yes, it wouldn’t be strange BUT if you noticed, Jaehyuk and Yedam have been to the restroom 3 times each since the last 2 hours too,”
Hyunsuk’s eyes widened in realisation by now. “Oh? Wait, really??”
Junghwan’s smile was slowly fading. He felt nervous now that Jihoon has realised his dormmates’ pattern of escaping practice today.
“Tell me, Junghwan, are you all escaping practice?” Jihoon asked their maknae, putting him on the spot.
“Pfft! What? No way! I have no idea what you’re talking about. I really need to use the restroom, hyung-aa,” he said slightly whining at this point.
“Aish, what are you saying, Jihoon? Let the kid go to the restroom. Besides, there’s no way our kids would ever skip practice. They’ve never done that before, you know that.” Hyunsuk said to Jihoon.
Jihoon lets out a sigh. “Okay, Junghwan, you’re free to leave the room,”
“Thank you hyung!” Junghwan said before running out of the room, a big grin on his face.
“Aigoo, Jihoon-aa. Don’t put our kids on the spot like that, pity them,”
“But hyung! Aren’t you concerned? They’ve used the restrooms more times than usual!”
Hyunsuk kept quiet for a while, thinking to himself.
“Could it be that they got sick after lunch earlier?” Hyunsuk asked, now feeling worried about his members.
“I’m not sure either—” Jihoon stopped when his eyes roamed the room and he noticed something.
“Wait, hyung—” Jihoon said. He stood up. “Hyung, why are there only the four of us here? When did the rest of them leave??”
Hyunsuk too, stood up when he realised that there was only him, Jihoon, Asahi and Junkyu in the room.
They both exchanged glances with each other.
“Could it be??” Hyunsuk said.
“Oh no, they better not!” Jihoon said, his face painted with worry.
Hyunsuk grabbed Jihoon’s arm and pulled him along as he heads towards the practice room door.
“Come on, Jihoon! We need to make sure they don’t get into trouble!”
*
“Oh, there’s y/n’s tour group!” Jaehyuk pointed out as he saw the group being led by Bomin not far from him.
Yedam, who was with him, looked over to see if he could see you were there.
“Huh, I can’t see y/n. She’s probably in the front of that group, huh,”
Jaehyuk nodded. “Yeah, and with her height, it’s impossible to see her over those tall people,” he snickered.
Both of them rest up against the handrails of the hall, looking over the tour group that was touring on the 3rd floor now, which was directly below them.
“By the way, do you think our leaders know that we’ve been out here keeping an eye out on y/n?”
“Nah, we make our trips to the restroom quick too, there’s no way they’d know.” Yedam said, full of confidence.
“True. I’m so glad we don’t have to rush back to practice now though,” Jaehyuk added.
“Yeah! At least we can watch over y/n for a little longer now,”
Now, the both of them were relaxing and just staring at the tour group below them when they heard a familiar voice.
“Yah! Chani, slow down! I did not agree for a running spree!”
“Hey, you said you wanted a quick tour, didn’t you?”
“Yeah, but I didn’t expect to run! I’m wearing heels for god’s sake!”
Chani laughed at your complaint. “Last one to reach the elevators, lose!” with that, Chani ran ahead of you, leaving you running on your own with the sound of your clacking heels.
Jaehyuk frowned to himself and turned to look at Yedam who was beside him. Yedam too, had a confused look on his face.
“Wait, doesn’t that sound like y/n?”
And sure enough, as if the universe wanted to answer him, they heard the clacking of your high heels running on the floor above them.
Yedam and Jaehyuk both lift their heads at the same time, hearing footsteps and high heels running from the floor above them.
“Wait, if y/n is up there with Chani…” Yedam said.
“…then that means, she and Chani escaped Bomin-hyung’s tour??”
“Oh no, this is bad. Hurry, Jaehyuk-hyung! We need to do something before they get into trouble!”
Jaehyuk pulled out his phone and dialed a phone number.
“Hello? Where are you right now? We need help,” he said into his phone.
*
“And there you go, the 4th floor,” Chani said as you both exited the elevators after the race that you both had earlier.
You stopped walking, catching your breath since you had to chase after Chani earlier. You felt your feet being sore from all the running you did in your heels.
“Ugh, this is the most tiring tour I’ve ever been to,” you groaned as you kneeled down to check on your sore feet.
Chani turned to you and grins, “Aw come on, you said you wanted it to be quick and fun—”
“Yeah I get it, I said that. But Chani oh my god, please, I beg—no more running please,”
Chani chuckles at your whine. “Fine, sure. We can roam this 4th floor at a slower pace since I’m pretty sure Bomin-hyung will be taking some time showing your team the 1st and lower floors,”
You showed him a thumbs-up and stood up properly, now feeling more rested and ready to continue your tour with him.
“Oh! This floor has some practice rooms too, so maybe we can check out one of them!” he said excitedly.
“Okay Chani,” you said, half-rolling your eyes at him since you know he probably wants to say hello to his celebrity friends in their practice rooms.
The both of you strolled through the hall, taking in the bright lights and clean-white paint on the walls of the grand building.
Your eyes glanced above, adoring the pretty, white lights that shone above the halls. You’ve always had a thing for bright lights (not the ones that sting your eyes—please) as it reminds you of the imagery of stars shining in the night sky.
“…only one room and we can tour the other floors next time, if you want,” Chani said.
He waited for your response but when you were quiet for a few seconds, he realised you weren’t saying anything to respond, so he glanced at you.
You were lost in your own thoughts, enjoying the pretty interior of the building, now that you were able to take in the sight slowly and not rushed as before.
Chani watched your expression, noticing how calm and happy you look at the moment. He smiled to himself, feeling glad that you weren’t regretting your choice of ditching the group’s tour earlier.
“Oh?” Chani said as he stopped in his tracks.
Chani stopping was what made you snap out of your thoughts and stopped your steps as well.
“Chani?” you asked.
“Oh? Oh, nothing. We can check this practice room here, y/n. I think this one’s unoccupied at the moment,” he said as he pointed at the door not far from the both of you.
“Sure,”
The both of you entered the huge, dark, practice room.
“Oof, it’s dark here,” you state the obvious.
“Duh, the lights are off,” Chani said as he walked over towards the light switch to switch the lights on.
As the lights turned on, Chani’s eyes were greeted with your scowl and he burst out laughing.
“What’s with that scowl on your face,” he said in between his laugh.
You rolled your eyes at him and turned away from him, “I know the lights had to be switched on, I was just saying the room was dark that’s all,”
Chani laughed again at your response. Shaking his head, he headed towards you.
The practice room had a large LCD screen on one side of the walls and the rest were covered with large mirrors, making the room look wider than it already was.
You saw your reflection in the mirror and you noticed your hair slightly messy from the running that you did before.
Walking up towards the mirror, you stared at your reflection and started fixing the strands of your hair that were messed up.
“You missed one here,” Chani said as he helped pull one strand to the back of your ear.
“Oh my god! Chani, don’t scare me like that!” you said as you turned around to face his grinning face.
“Ugh, what is it with you and getting scared easily?” he said in an annoyed tone, although he was smiling when he said this.
“I wasn’t scared. I was surprised. Get your facts right,” you said in the same annoyed tone as his.
“I think I heard you said you were ‘scared’ earlier though,”
You narrowed your eyes at him. “Fine, whatever.”
You took another look at yourself in the mirror and made sure that you looked all neat.
“So, where are we going next? Another practice room?” you asked the man that was already walking towards the centre of the room.
“Wow, you really weren’t listening, were you?”
You tilt your head and blinked a couple times, not understanding what he meant by that.
Chani chuckled at your expression. “I was saying that we could just tour one practice room and then head back to the others later. We could tour the rest of the lower floors next time. I mean, if that’s alright with you,”
“Huh…”
“I mean, at least we won’t have to keep on rushing and running around. Least I could do for your poor feet in those heels you keep mentioning since the start of our tour,”
“Hey! I’m not that girl from that Jurassic World movie, okay! I can’t run in heels as good as she does,” you huffed.
“Sure, y/n,” Chani smirks at you. “So? Last tour stop for the day?” he said as he spreads his arms, pointing at the room.
“Hmm, that’s not a bad idea I guess,” You said as you made your way towards him.
“Now…”
You looked at him questioningly, now that you were beside him.
Chani extended his hand at you, asking for your hand.
“What are you doing?” You said with a dumbfounded look on your face.
Chani snickered at you. “Wanna take a mirror selfie, Miss y/n?”
You scoffed at him, smiling a little at his dorky behaviour. “Gosh, you’re weird.”
“Hey, if the trainees and artists can take mirror selfies in their practice room, why can’t we, right?”
You rolled your eyes at him and placed your hand on his, accepting his gesture.
Chani pulled you close to him and just as he was about to take a picture of you both using his phone, THE WHOLE ROOM WENT DARK.
The both of you stopped what you were doing.
“Whoa, what?” You said, shocked with what happened.
“Stay here, I’ll go check the light switch,” Chani said.
“Whoa, no way! I ain’t staying here alone. Those who stay alone, die alone in zombie movies I tell ya,” you retort back at him and hurriedly followed behind him.
*
“Did you think they saw us?” Doyoung said, half panting outside of the practice room you and Chani were in.
“Nope. I bet they were too shocked to even process what happened,” Jeongwoo said as he pat his hyung’s back, feeling proud of what he did.
Just then, Jaehyuk and Yedam were running towards them from the other end of the hall.
“Sorry for being late, we were upstairs since we thought they were still on the floor we last saw them,” Yedam said.
“What happened??” Jaehyuk asked, seeing that Doyoung and Jeongwoo looked as tired out as they were.
Doyoung and Jeongwoo exchanged looks with each other.
Flashback (15 minutes earlier)
“How are we ever going to find both of them in this huge building??” Jeongwoo complained as he jogged through the hall with Doyoung beside him.
“I’m not sure either. When Jaehyuk-hyung called just now, he said they were on the floor above us,”
“Then shouldn’t we check the floor above??”
“I guess we could—”
Doyoung stopped talking as soon as he saw you and Chani exiting the elevators not far from him and Jeongwoo.
Doyoung immediately pulled Jeongwoo aside and made sure the both of them leaned against the wall, directly behind a pillar.
Both Doyoung and Jeongwoo waited quietly, as they heard your footsteps along with Chani’s approaching close to where they were.
Jeongwoo bit his bottom lip, silently praying that it wouldn’t be obvious that both him and Doyoung were stalking you.
“Sure,” you said as you followed Chani entering the practice room.
As soon as the doors closed behind you and Chani, Doyoung and Jeongwoo immediately went out of their hiding spot.
“What are they doing?? Why would they enter the practice room, alone??” Jeongwoo asked, now fully concerned about you.
“I don’t know! We can’t barge in on them, can we?” Doyoung asked him back.
“Should we take a peek?”
The both of them eyed the door handle for a moment, before deciding to just take a peek on what you and Chani were doing.
And surely, the moment they peeked through the door was the moment Chani had approached you while you were fixing your hair.
“Sheesh, look at him, being all touchy around y/n,” Jeongwoo grumbled.
Doyoung lifted his finger to his mouth, signalling Jeongwoo to keep his thoughts to himself.
Doyoung slowly slipped himself through the small opening of the door and hurried towards the light switch which was in the corner near the door, making it impossible for you and Chani to notice him there.
He turned to look at Jeongwoo who was still peeping through the door. His hand raised towards the main light switch.
Jeongwoo, who was watching over his hyung, shook his head at his hyung’s idea of switching the lights off.
But then, at the same time, both Doyoung and Jeongwoo turned their attention to you and saw Chani pulling you close to him.
And with that, without thinking any further, Doyoung immediately pressed the switch that made the whole room dark.
Jeongwoo backed away from the door, his hands covering his mouth in shock of what his hyung did.
Few seconds later Doyoung was already out of the room, his back resting against the doors and him panting after sprinting out of there.
End of flashback
“Whoaaa you guys are awesome!” Jaehyuk said happily to his dongsaengs.
“Oh? Wait, don’t you think they’d want to leave the room since the room mysteriously went dark??” Yedam asked.
Jeongwoo immediately turned to Doyoung, a panicked look on his face.
“Eyy, eyy, calm down everyone,” Doyoung said as he raised both his hands. He moved away from the doors and showed the door lock.
“See? The lock for this door is from the outside. I’ve locked it when I exited just now. No worries,” he said proudly.
Yedam, Jeongwoo and Jaehyuk all stared at Doyoung in amazement.
“Whoa! Doyoung, you’re truly a genius!” Yedam praised his dongsaeng, showing him a thumbs up.
As the four of them were happily praising one another, a familiar voice spoke to them.
“Just what exactly are you four doing here?”
The four of them turned around and saw Jihoon, Hyunsuk and Junghwan.
“Uh…” Doyoung said, not knowing how he should answer his hyungs.
“Sorry, hyung. They found out about our mission,” Junghwan said, pouting.
“Hah! Mission?” Jihoon laughed at his dongsaengs. “You mean, stalking y/n??”
“H-hey! We weren’t stalking! We were just…watching over her,” Jaehyuk whined.
“You guys…why are you all doing this?” Hyunsuk asked softly, not wanting them to think that he was mad at his dongsaengs or anything like that.
“Hyung! Listen, let me explain,” Jeongwoo stepped to the front, facing his hyungs directly.
“Aigoo, Jeongwoo-aa, I can’t believe you were in on this too,” Jihoon said in his nagging tone.
Jeongwoo shook his head and spoke again, “Nooooo, listennnnn. We did what we had to, okay? Chani was being touchy with Y/n!”
That made Hyunsuk, Jihoon and Junghwan all gasped out loud at the same time.
“T-touch?? You mean…they kissed??” Junghwan asked.
“Whoaaaaa, no, no! Not that far Junghwannie,” Doyoung assured his dongsaeng.
“J-just how…did he touch y/n?” Hyunsuk asked this time, concerned written on his face.
“You know, he touched her hair…pulled her close to him…” Doyoung said, his eyes looking up at the ceiling.
“So…basically the things we do with y/n as well??” Jihoon asked, stating the obvious fact that indeed what Chani did to you was no different than how the Treasure members treated you.
The four of them all avoided their hyung’s gaze, feeling bad for what they did and also for their paranoid behaviour.
Jihoon was about to open his mouth to say something when he noticed the door handles moving behind his friends.
“Okay but why are the door handles moving like that?”
Everyone’s eyes focused on the door handles moving.
“Oh, we locked y/n and Chani in there,” Doyoung said nonchalantly.
“Oh.” Jihoon nodded.
And then his eyes went wide, “WAIT WHAT??”
“Uhh, bye y’all, I was never a part of this,” Junghwan said as he ran off, leaving all his hyungs.
“Hey, Junghwan-aa, wait up!!” Jeongwoo said as he dashed off as well.
Doyoung, Jaehyuk and Yedam exchanged looks with each other.
“Nu uh, stay where you are,” Jihoon said as he walked up towards the door, unlocking it.
As soon as he unlocked it, Yedam, Jaehyuk and Doyoung immediately ran off in the same direction their dongsaengs had run off to.
“Yah! Come back here! I’m not done nagging at you all!” Jihoon said as he chased after them.
And just at that moment, Chani and you stepped out of the room, noticing Hyunsuk standing alone there.
“Hyunsuk-hyung! What are you doing here?” Chani asked happily when he saw his hyung there.
“Uh, n-nothing! I uh, I gotta go! Bye!” He immediately ran off, chasing after Jihoon.
You looked at the direction where Hyunsuk ran off to and simply shrugged.
“Huh, maybe they have some filming today,” Chani guessed.
“Hm, maybe.”
“Okay! That’s enough with the tour, I guess?” Chani said as he turned to you.
“You bet I want to end this tour. That room suddenly went dark and the doors being unable to be opened?? I’m telling you, Chani. This place is freaking haunted,” you shuddered.
Chani giggled at your statement. “Aigoo, you’re not scared, are you?” he asked, an eyebrow raising at you.
You shot him a glare. “I’m allowed to feel scared,”
Chani laughs at your serious expression and pinches your cheek, “Gosh, you’re so serious! I was just teasing you! Aigoo, what a cutie!”
“Hey, no, stop pinching my cheeks!” You said as you pushed his hands away from you, also half-smiling because you couldn’t stay mad at this silly fellow.
“Okay, okay, I’ll stop,” he grinned at you.
“So,” he wrapped his arm around your shoulder, “wanna head back to the top floor and wait for the rest of the tour group?”
“Okay but we cannot make it obvious that we ever left them, okay?” you reminded him.
“No problem, homie,”
This made you laughed again. You don’t know why, but every time you hear him say that word it made you want to crack up.
“Stop it, we’re not that close, ew!” you said in between your laughs.
Chani too, was grinning at you, until he saw another hyung that he knows approaching the both of you.
Chani greeted the two guys that were in front of you both by now, “Hyung! Hi! Are you all on a break?”
Your eyes looked up and saw…Asahi and Junkyu staring at the both of you.
You stopped laughing and noticed the cold expression on both of their faces.
Asahi nodded at Chani’s greeting, “Yeah, we’re taking a break from practice,”
“Aahh. Y/n and I have just finished our tour too! We’re heading back to the top floor now, take care hyung!” Chani said cheerfully. With that, he bowed slightly before pulling you with him to head for the elevators not far from where you all were.
Junkyu felt his nostrils burning from the fume that he was holding in. When he saw Chani wrapping his arms around you like that, it made him feel sort of furious. Which was ridiculous for him because why should he be angry at you?
What Junkyu doesn’t know is that, Asahi noticed his hyung’s dissatisfied look, and he even noticed Junkyu’s fist clenching.
Asahi followed Junkyu’s gaze that was sharply staring at you and Chani. A small smirk formed on Asahi’s lips, understanding what was going on with his hyung and you now.
*
While the whole drama with you and Chani along with the Treasure members were going on at the floors above them, Yoshi, Haruto and Mashiho were spending their time at the convenience floor at the lower ground floor.
“Hyung, this one! This is the new flavour!” Haruto called out to Mashiho and Yoshi.
“Where?” Yoshi approached his younger friend and looked at the instant sseoteok cup he was holding.
Haruto held out the cup to his hyung, and Yoshi took it from his hands.
“Ahh, this one. I’ve tried it. It tastes…weird…”
“Weird?” Haruto looked at him.
“You know, like…slugs…”
Haruto stifled a laugh, “Hyung, you’ve eaten slugs before??”
“Ahh no, no! I meant—” Yoshi waved his hands, trying to explain himself.
“AAAAHHHHHHHH JUNGHWAN-AA DON’T LEAVE ME,” they heard a loud scream coming from the floors above them.
“What’s going on up there?” Mashiho, who was at the checkout counter asked.
Both Yoshi and Haruto shrugged at his question.
The three of them headed towards the entrance of the store and surely enough, they were able to see their friends in chaos, running around the 4th floor.
Their jaws fell when they saw how fast Jihoon was chasing after them, almost like a top athlete running a relay race.
“S-sparta 2.0,” Yoshi mumbled when he saw Jihoon sprinting towards his dongsaengs up there.
“Jihoon! Slow down! Kids! Don’t run!! You all might get hurt!” Hyunsuk yelled as he ran, a little far behind Jihoon.
“Whoa, I didn’t know we’re doing another runningman episode??” Mashiho asked, his face full of confusion.
The three of them looked at one another.
“AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!! YEDAM-HYUNG, RUN AWAY! JIHOON-HYUNG IS RIGHT BEHIND US!” This time they heard Junghwan’s loud scream.
“Oh? There’s Junkyu-hyung and Asahi-hyung,” Haruto pointed towards the other side of the open hall of the 4th floor. Both of them looked relaxed and were just watching the chase from afar.
“Wait, why aren’t they running??” Yoshi asked.
“Yah! Have they gotten caught?? Are we the only ones who didn’t know we have a TMAP filming today??” Mashiho asked, completely shocked and confused by the second.
The three of them ran towards the side where Asahi and Junkyu were standing from.
“Hyung! Are we filming today??” Mashiho called out from below towards Junkyu who was above them.
Junkyu furrowed his eyebrows, not really able to hear Mashiho since the screams and yellings from the other side of the floor was too loud. “What?? Pink toenails??” he asked back.
“He said, did we have a TMAP shooting today??” Haruto yelled with his deep voice.
“Ahhh. Noooo! They’re just having a chase, that’s all!” Junkyu yelled back at his dongsaengs below.
The three of them looked over at the other side in confusion.
“Chase? Aw man, why didn’t they invite us to play with them??” Yoshi complained.

PART ONE || PART TWO || PART THREE || PART FOUR || FINALE || BONUS

If someone asks me to summarize the happenings these past couple of months, I’d only say one word. The first one that comes mind.
Past me would freak out over this but this me just smiles at the thought.
Back when I agreed to this arrangement I said I had nothing to lose, and I didn’t. But I did gain a lot. I gained new friends, ones who genuinely care for each other like family, I gained confidence in myself and now i’m able to say yes to things I would’ve said no to before.
And of course I’ve gained a close companion, a friend almost but I already know he’s more than that to me.
All those things lead me here.
While being lost in my thoughts I didn’t notice someone standing beside the table I was currently occupying, I only looked up after the person cleared their throat to catch my attention.
“Huh? Oh sorry, I didn’t see you come in” I said, Lia shot me a quick smile before occupying the seat in front of me
“Do you want to order something or-” I asked her but she just shook her head in return
“Didn’t really come here for that, so why did you want to talk?” she asked back
“To say sorry” I could tell my answer caught her a bit off-guard, she gestured for me to go on
“I feel like we got off on the wrong foot, so I apologize for that”
“And for the whole fake girlfriend fiasco?” she asked, I knew she was going to ask, it’s why I wanted to talk to her. To finally clear things up.
“I admit we were at fault for lying to Hyuck’s friends, we already cleared that up” I told her, “Why did you do it though? If you knew all this time why didn’t you say something?” I asked her, for a second she looked away before speaking again.
“I wanted to know why he was doing it, when I first met you at that party I already knew. I wanted to say something already but I didn’t because I wanted to find out why you were doing it”
“Months passed by, when I see the two of you around campus it looked like you weren’t doing just to make me jealous. Which was my initial guess. So I wondered why”
“All I can say is whatever it was when it started out is not what it is now” was the answer I gave to her, admitting it openly was definitely something new for me.
Nothing is sure in this life, everything can change with no warnings. But for now, I’m very sure about my feelings. It was nice not feeling conflicted over something and just letting it be.
“You hurt him, you know. I’m not going to judge you because I don’t really know you but what you did hurt him a lot. He deserved better” I mumbled
“And now what? You’re that better?”
“Anything is better than being cheated on, no one deserves that. He didn’t deserve that” my statement made her look away from me and stay quiet
This wasn’t my battle to fight. I just wanted to say something that should’ve been said all along.
In the midst of the silence my phone rang, it happened to be laying on the table with the screen on display. Hyuck’s name flashing, with a cute picture of him that I secretly took during on of our study sessions.
I see Lia looking at my phone, I can’t help but smile sadly.
Their situation was a mess. Hyuck deserved better, but I also don’t have it in me to be mad at someone I didn’t know.
“He really likes you” she chuckled, not a sarcastic one but almost a sad one
“I know”
“It’s the way he looks at you that convinced me you two were something more than this whole facade you’re trying to put on” she told me, I didn’t know if i should smile or not
“I hope this clear things up, I’ll get going now. You take care, Lia” I smiled at her before gathering my stuff.
“He loved me first, now I know I won’t be the last” I hear her say, a moment of guilt and regret could be heard in her tone but she quickly masked it with a side smile. I bid a goodbye then I walked out of the cafe.
My phone stopped ringing before it started to go off again, Hyuck’s name flashing on the screen once again
“Finally, she picked up. What are you doing that’s more important than answering my calls?” he asked, I knew he was joking
“Just talking to someone”
“Who?”
“That’s a story I’ll tell later” I chuckled, I hear him grumble something but I didn’t quite catch it
“I’m already here by the way, you’re late” he said, we were supposed to meet today to get some lunch. I wasn’t late, he was just really early but I don’t tell him that
He was waiting somewhere not that far form the cafe, I saw him waiting by the park. He hasn’t seen me yet.
“I am here”
“Where?” he asked, he was looking around but still wasn’t able to see where I was
“Right here” I laugh at the way he was turning left and right trying to spot me, when he did he hung up his phone. A displeased look on his face
“Hi” I said with a big smile on my face while Hyuck just snickered at me,
“I’ve been here for so long” he told me, already reaching out for my hand intertwining our fingers together. I felt warm all over.
“No you weren’t. Stop being dramatic”
“Whatever, at least I wasn’t the one who was late” he told me
“I wasn’t late! You being early doesn’t make me late” I retorted back, I let him pull me wherever we were going to get lunch
“I thought you were going out with Mark and the rest of your hyungs” I asked, remembering his story about his older friends. I haven’t met them yet but with so many fond stories from Hyuck made me feel like I knew them too.
“Said I was going out on a date” he said, the word date making my cheeks turn red. He of course knew this.
“Aigoo, look at you. You’re so cute” he said, reaching out to pinch my cheek with the hand that wasn’t holding mine. I swatted his hand away making him laugh out loud.
“Where are we going anyways?”
“Where do you want to go?” he ask me, I just blinked up at him “I thought you knew where we were going”
“No, I was following you” he answered back with an equally confused look on his face
“I was following you! You’re the one pulling me” I say, holding our hands up together. His eyes landing on our intertwined hands, I could see the small smile creeping on his face. He was trying to fit it, I wanted to call him out and tease him about it but I let him be.
We ended up just walking around, looking for a random place to get lunch. Then we just hung out afterwards. We haven’t really talked about what we are now that the whole pretend to be his fake girlfriend is over.
Right now, this feels like the beginning of something better.
We were just talking about how the weekend went, the boys came over then they had a movie night. Jeno was happy everyone was talking again. We were talking about anything and everything.
“I was talking to Lia” I said out of the blue, I saw him look over at me in surprise.
“Do I want to know?”
“I just wanted to clear things with her, I don’t know her it would be unfair if I get mad at her. She doesn’t know me either so, I just wanted to say my side”
“You didn’t have to, this was my fa-”
“If i recall I agreed to it, you weren’t alone in all that” I stopped him from saying yet again that it was his fault. I wanted the both of us to move on from it, I didn’t want it to be another thing to weigh on his shoulder.
“Don’t worry, she didn’t say anything embarrassing about you” I told him, trying to lessen his worry because I could already see it written across his face.
“Speaking of talks, we should talk”
“Why? Are you breaking up with me?” he asked, this made me stop speaking and just look at him
“What... we’re... I...”
“You.. what... we’re” he said repeating after me
“What are you saying, break up with you? We’re not even dating”
He acted like I hurt him by putting his arms across his chest, clutching on his shirt were his heart is. I can’t help but smile at him.
“This is what I get after taking to all those dates. Wow” he made this face where he pokes the inside of his cheeks with his tongue when things don’t go the way he wants it to. One of the many things I learned about him.
“Stop smiling at me, I’m trying to be mad at you” he told me but instead of acting mad he just pulled on my hand again then started to walk the both of us back to our dorms.
“Ya Lee Donghyuck” I said, pulling him back
“What Y/L/N Y/N? You know I don’t even know why you call me Hyuck”
“Because it’s your name” I answered, I also know that I’m the only one who calls him that around campus. Even his bestfriends call him by his nickname,
“it’s your name isn’t it. Why? Do you want me to change it? Call you Haechan?” I asked, if he wanted me to I’d probably would. It will take some time to get used to since I rarely call him by his nickname
“Better if you call me boyfriend” he answered cheekily, “You would want that won’t you” I answered back. He looked like he didn’t expect that answer, so instead of replying to me he just started to walk again.
No words needed to be said, with our hands swaying gently back and forth we walked back home.

We decided to have a movie night, that’s how we ended up over at Hyuck and Renjun’s dorm.
“I actually have something to ask you” Hyuck suddenly speaking up
“What is it?”
He set the bag of snacks he was holding, sitting up straight on the couch looking like he was contemplating whether he should say it or not
“There’s... I should... I should say this now or I’ll keep putting it off so here goes nothing” he mumbled to himself before turning to face me
“I know I’m... Me... and I feel like you deserve better than me but I like you a lot I can’t even think about someone else making you laugh so much you snort, you don’t notice it but I think it’s the most adorable sound to me. I can’t think about someone else seeing how easily you blush when you get compliments or when you get shy. I guess what I’m trying to say or what I’m failing to say is that I hope I could still be that person to witness you do all those cute things. I hope I can make you laugh some more, I wish I can just hold your hand all the time so you don’t get lost in the crowd. I wish you’re fine with this cause if not I’m going to move out of this country and change my name”
His confession, although wasn’t a big surprise, made my eyes water. His words were so genuine, I could see the worry in his eyes I wanted to assure him those feelings were returned but I just can’t find the words
“Oh my god why are you crying? I’m so sorry. Don’t cry if you don’t feel the same way, don’t cry oh my god I made you cry” he said clearly panicking, he hurriedly wiped the tears away
“I don’t snort” I mumbled
“Huh?”
“I don’t snort when I laugh” I said with a pout on, he closed his eyes for a second before smiling down at me. Wiping the last of the tears but keeping my face in between his hands.
“You do, you cutie. Don’t worry, I like it a lot” his assurance made me feel all giddy and warm, my eyes started to tear up again. I was just so happy I think my brain is confused about how to react right now.
I rested my hands on his, trailing idle patterns on it as he still held my face in his
“You know this is the part where you say you like me too...” he said making me laugh, I collapse forward into him so now I’m hugging him. My arms around his shoulders while I feel his arms wrap around my waist
“I like you too. Like a lot” I mumbled to his ear, I feel a kiss atop my head. I just snuggled closer to him, burying my face on the crook of his neck.
“For real this time time, will you be my girlfriend?”
“I’ll think about it”
“Yah don’t be like that, my feelings are fragile too you know” he said acting mad but instead of pushing me away he just pulled me to him more.
If someone asks me to summarize the happenings these past couple of months, I’d only say one word. The first one that comes mind.
Hyuck. Donghyuck. Haechan.
it’s all the same but he’s the first one that comes to my mind.
“So boyfriend, should we continue on with the movie” I asked him with a smile. The same way I asked him that night of the party months ago
He smiled at me, putting some space between us. I notice him leaning closer and closer until he rests his forehead on mine. His breath tickling my face making my cheeks burn bright red
“You okay with this?” Hyuck asked, his voice quiet. Also the same question he asked me that night
Before I could answer him, someone screamed by the door making me jump from my seat
“OH MY GOD I CAN’T BELIEVE JENO IS RIGHT”
“Three days!? Three days! You couldn’t last two weeks?”
“WHAT IS HAPPENING”
The three guy s were all speaking at the same timee, it was pure chaos.
At this point Hyuck was resting back on the couch with his arm across his face, probably trying to drown his friends out
“Wait, what do you mean Jeno is right?” Hyuck asked, sitting up and looking at his friends skeptically
“Nothing, pizza is on me though if you let us join in on your movie night”
Hyuck was about to say no but I already gestured at the seats and snacks infront of us. It wasn’t my dorm anyways so I couldn’t say no.
“We were having a date night” I hear Hyuck grumble from beside me.
“Don’t worry, we’ll have other date nights” I told him with a smile, knowing well this won’t be the last.

The Silver Dragon
Peasant! Jungkook x Reader, Daechwita! Yoongi x Reader
Historical AU featuring the whole OT7,Moderate violence, Treason, Royal family drama
Word count: 3.6k
a/n: This was so fun to write i keep surprising myself with the sh!t i come up with
You were taking your morning walk while being followed by your entourage. Your silk hanbok shimmers under the bright sunshine shining down on Hanyang, Joseon’s capital. “Good morning, my lady!” A group of scholars led by Kim Taehyung greets you. “A good day to walk within the palace walls, am I right?” He comments, a sly smile graces his handsome face. “What’s that supposed to mean?” You raise an eyebrow at him. He laughs as he tightens his grip on his books. “Oh, nothing, my lady! Have a good day.” He rushes before whispering “please don’t let us catch you scaling the palace walls again, my lady. Your brother, the crown prince already threatened to kick us out if we try to cover for you again!” He pulls away and bows gracefully. You have been sneaking away from the palace lately, disguised in peasant clothing. Court life has been extremely boring, you were looking for an adventure. As a daughter of a king and a concubine, you played a little role in running the kingdom. You were to be married off to someone to strengthen ties with the kingdom and expected to rear sons. Your life would be over before it began.
You and your entourage arrive at the palace’s main courtyard where you see your brother and his troops preparing their horses and cargo wagons. “Are you going somewhere?” you approach your brother. “Yes, we are going to Gyongsang. There are rumors of rebel troops stirring there. Haven’t you heard?” he speaks while securing the saddle to his horse. “Ah is that so? I wouldn’t know the latest rumors, really…” You try to be nonchalant. “You’ve been sneaking out of the palace for a while now, I’m sure you’ve heard a couple of rumors out there?!” he slams a leather bag, startling you. Aigoo, everyone’s out to get me today! You thought to yourself. “Yah! You think I won’t find out?” his hands are on his hips now. His troops try their best to avert their eyes from the royal quarrel. His captain, Park Jimin, who had witnessed this several times only rolls his eyes. Your brother leans closer to you. “I had you followed last week. I know you’re meeting someone. A peasant boy. y/n, This is no time for playing around. Something big is going to happen very soon. I know it. So you better start taking your life seriously.” He mounts his horse and instructs his troops, turning back on you. “Something big?” You wonder to yourself. --- Later in the day, you return to your quarters. There is no other way to pass the time than to do embroidery or read a book on poetry. You’ve memorized every single poem in all 12 volumes of classic poetry in your little bookshelf. You sigh to yourself as you pulled out the last book tucked at the corner of your shelf.
Classic poetry volume 13
Your eyes widen at the book’s header. Since when did classic poetry get a 13th volume?! You flip the pages to find it empty, except for the last page, which contained a single stanza.
“The moon will sink twice And the silver dragon will rise Bearing the black stone And will begin the rise of Joseon”
You rush to visit the royal shaman, bringing the 13th book with you. “What does this mean?!” Tossing the book to Hoseok, one of the royal shamans in training. He was nodding off on his desk while studying. Your sudden intrusion startles him, causing him to bounce from his seat. “Huh what?!” he clutches his chest. “Classical poetry only has 12 volumes. Why do I have a 13th one?” Hoseok flips through the pages of the book to find it empty. “My lady, this is just an empty journal…” You take the book from his hands, startling him again. He’s right. Even the title had disappeared. You repeatedly flip through the pages, getting more aggravated. “My lady, are you alright? You're scaring me…” “But there was something here!” You yell. “Silver dragon bearing the black stone!” What does it mean? Hoseok stares at you for a minute before reaching for his brush. He writes down the words in his elegant handwriting. “i-I’ll see what I can find about this…. For now maybe you need to take a rest, my lady. You seem unwell…”
You didn’t have the appetite for dinner that night. You took what you could from the food served to your quarters, wrapping them up before getting dressed in your peasant disguise and sneaked out of the palace. This was your first time leaving at night so you were a little nervous but you made it anyway. Walking through the muddy pavements of Hanyang’s peasant city, you make your way to the familiar hut you’ve always visited when you sneaked out. Jeon Jungkook’s house. Well, it’s not really his, he shares it with several orphaned kids and some around his age. “Kook..?” The hut was dark and quiet, only one candle illuminating the small room. You let yourself inside before spotting Jungkook, the peasant boy you loved, raiding through his chest of belongings. “Y/n?! What are you doing here? its late!” he was evidently surprised. “I really wanted to see you. Plus my brother is travelling to Gyeongsang. Is that a bruise on your cheek?!” You rush to cradle his face marred by a dark bruise on his cheekbone. He smirks before saying “Oh princess, you should see the other guy.” “Who was it?” “Seokjin.” “Again?!” You tell him off. This no longer comes as a surprise to you as the two always bicker at almost any petty topic they choose. “Y/n, what are you doing here?” Jungkook’s tone suddenly went serious. He was unwrapping the cloth that was tied around a long item. He tosses the wrapping to reveal a sword. “Why, what’s going on? Where are the kids?” You look around the empty hut. “Where did you get that?!” “It belonged to my father. Y/n, Listen to me. I need you to go to Seokjin and ask him to take you with him. He’s headed to Gwacheon. I will meet you there as soon as I can.” “What? What’s going on? I thought we were eloping together?!” “There’s no time to explain.” Jungkook puts on a quiver full of arrows over his shoulder and a bow on the other. He blows out the candle and pulls you out of the house. “Do as I say. I will find you in Gwacheon.” He pulls you in for a quick kiss before winking and running to the other way. It was dark and the pathways were empty. During the short walk to Jin’s house, you didn’t encounter a single soul. It scared you. “Jin?” You knock at the wooden door of his tiny hut. It was dark. He was probably asleep. “Seokjin, its me. Kook sent me, and asked me to come with you to Gwacheon?” You were unsure of Kook’s instructions. There was no answer. You pried the door open. The house was completely dark except for the moonlight streaming through the holes in the hay roofing. He wasn’t there. His things aren’t there. He already left for Gwacheon. Confused and tired with all the fuss going on, you walked back to the palace, climbing its walls, and walking straight to your quarters, not bothering to hide from the royal guards. You slept a dreamless sleep.
You jolted awake by the sudden noise from outside your chambers. There were muffled screaming. And then silence. You were too scared to move. You wrapped yourself with the blanket, staying perfectly still on your cushion. The door suddenly slides open, revealing a man in light armor. You don’t recognize his face nor the sigil he wears. “Please get dressed, My Lady. The king summons you.” He gently closes the door, giving you privacy. His calm tone almost makes you forget you were afraid. You carefully rose and got dressed. The sun gradually brightens the sky, illuminating the main courtyard of the palace. The courtyard was littered with dead royal guards, blood staining the stone ground. Horrified, you tried to scream and run but the calm man grabs your arm. “Please don’t. You have nowhere else to go, Lady y/n. everything will be alright.” His calm demeanor fails to rub into you this time as he pulls you up the stairs to the King’s throne hall. “Who are you?” you ask your captor. “I am Kim Namjoon. You have nothing to worry about, my lady.” He points you toward the throne hall. His graceful movement indicates that this man is of noble birth yet he is not familiar to you at all. There were only a few candles lit inside the throne hall. You feel yourself being watched by several pairs of eyes lurking in the dark corners. Sunlight finally enters the throne hall. The wide doors facing east accommodates the sun rising from the edge of the roofed gates of the royal palace. Warmth crawls from its doorstep toward the high platform, up to the Phoenix throne and the stranger sitting on it.
His silver hair glows under the morning light. His skin, smooth and pale like porcelain, marred by a scar down his right eye. By his feet, a pool of blood gathers. The blood of your father, the king, lying headless at the edge of the platform. Your hand flies to your mouth, failing to mask the shock and disbelief. Tears begin to gather at the edge of your eyes, spilling as you blink. Your knees threaten to give in, but you try to hold firm under the scrutinizing gaze of the usurper sitting on the throne. The silver haired stranger descends from the throne platform, walking towards you. His dark robes, moist with blood, cascades behind him almost elegantly. “Your majesty, this is lady y/n, princess of Joseon, Daughter of the deceased king Seondaewang and Concubine Cho.” Namjoon announces. “Ah, the informant!” He stands close to you. Too close. His eyes are pitch black. His pretty face almost distracts you from the bloody hand that tries to reach yours. Informant? “Who are you and what do want?” Your voice trembles with hate. “He is your king-“Namjoon tries to explain. “He is a murderer!” You lash out, pulling your arm from his grasp. The silver-haired man presses his tongue against his cheek before grabbing you by the neck, pulling your face dangerously close to his. “If it wasn’t for this pretty mouth, we’d never know your dear brother had left the capital. I owe you my gratitude." His thumb traces your lip before forcing your head to the side and releases his grip. You come face to face with Jeon Jungkook, wide-eyed, bruised and blood-stained face failing to hide the fear in his eyes. His breathing picks up. “You! How dare you!" Your anger clouds your judgement, tears continuing to spill from your eyes. “Y/n, I didn’t mean for any of this.. I told you to leave with Jin! I told you I would find you!” His pleading falls on your deaf ears, blood rushing through your veins.
“Yoongi!” Namjoon calls the murderer’s attention. A royal guard runs up the stairs, huffing and puffing upon entering the throne hall. “Jimin?!” You call out to him. He briefly glances at you before kneeling in front of the man named Yoongi. “Your majesty, the crown prince and his party has heard of your attack and are on their way here.” Yoongi humorlessly chuckles. “We must prepare to welcome your brother, Princess y/n!” “Where are they now?” Namjoon inquires. “They are in the city.” Jimin reports. Yoongi paces around the throne hall, the soles of his footwear paints bloody footprints on the floor. His fingers pinch at his lips before growling and unsheathing his sword. The ringing of his blade cuts through the silence of the room. He tosses the scabbard to the stone floors and marches toward the throne room’s doors upon hearing the rush of horses at the gates. The palace gates are thrown open, revealing your brother and his small band of troops. The crown prince was terribly outnumbered.
“Min Yoongi!”Your brother screams from across the courtyard. Yoongi stands proud at the top of the stairs, his sword glimmering under the sun. Your eyes shift upon the realization that your brother has called him with his full name. Do they know each other? Your brother continues to march toward the foot of the stone stairs. “How dare you double-cross me?!” “Looks like I double-crossed the double-crosser first…” Yoongi descends gracefully to the courtyard. His men rushes to follow him out. You slowly step out of the throne room, squinting at the morning sun.
“The deal was to assassinate the king, not attack the palace!” Your brother angrily spat. He was too late when he realized you were there, listening to his confession of treason. “y..y/n…” Yoongi laughs and looks up to you from the bottom of the stairs. “That’s right my lady! Your brother, the crown prince asked me to have your father killed! His royal ass couldn’t wait to sit on the throne!”
Oh your poor father. He raised the hand that eventually had him killed. Your father may not have been the best, but it was never right to... Your knees gave in. Your vision blurs. Your throat dries. You don't realize you were letting out a scream of agony. Jungkook tries to break your fall, grabbing your arms before your knees hit the solid ground.
Sounds of steel clashing against steel ring through the palace. Your eyes look up to the sky, bright and blue. The sunlight was obscured by Jungkook's face, eyes full of worry and regret. "Jagiya, breathe. Look at me. Look at me!" His palm lightly taps your cheek, slowly bringing you back to consciousness. Your vision begins to clear. You raise your hand to grip his shoulder. "Can you stand?" Jungkook's muffled voice inquires, as he carefully supports you up. His eyes remain on yours as you take in the battle ensuing below. The sounds feel so far away. Its like being underwater.
There was so much blood. The blue robes of your brother were darkened by blood, belonging to him and his opponent. The crown prince was pinned down by Yoongi who was holding his thin sword against the prince's neck. The royal sword has been abandoned, away from it's owner's reach. The only thing stopping Yoongi from ending the prince is his palm, pressing against the sword. The prince's other hand digs through his robes and procures a knife, which he quickly raises to stab Yoongi repeatedly on his side.
Your hand grips the material on Jungkook's shoulder. A silken twine of a bow. His half-empty quiver of arrows rest against his back. Ripping the bow from him, you do not feel yourself thinking. The next thing you know, an arrow lodges in to someone's head.
The crown prince falls backward upon impact.
You could not stop yourself from nocking another arrow, pointing it toward the silver-haired man. His onyx eyes stare into your soul as he crawls from the bottom of the stairs, clutching his bloodied torso. The string draws as far as the bow allows. You take a deep breath. A muffled voice calls your name. The bow is pulled from your grasp. But the arrow releases anyway.
Your vision blacks out.
----
You wake up with a jolt, immediately sitting upright on the cushion, bunching up the thick covers wrapped around you. The maidservant who had just entered was startled to find you awake. She hurriedly leaves and returns moments later, carrying a pitcher of water. Soon, Jungkook enters the room, a jolly smile plastered on his face upon seeing you. "Jagiya!" He takes your hand in his. "How long has it been?" Your other hand puts down the empty glass. "Two days. I was so worried about you. Do you remember what happened?" He softly asks. You were surprised to remember everything clearly. Your brother's confession, the swordfight, the arrow that killed him, and the arrow that missed because of Namjoon. You nod your head, answering Jungkook's question.
"Where is Yoongi?" You ask. "He's still weak but he's recovering. He lost a lot of blood." Silence takes over between both of you. Carefully, you slip your hand away from Jungkook's grasp. "We're done now, y/n. We can leave this place. Live in a little hut on our own, you and I, away from here. Like what you've always dreamed..." Jungkook breaks the silence, voice filled with hope. "We can leave as soon as you're well..." "I'm not abandoning my people, Jungkook." You firmly state, staring him straight in the eye. "What?" "I'm staying. I need to-" "You know what he'll do to you, right?" Jungkook's voice begins to rise, laced with anger and confusion. "He'll kill you! Or he'll marry you, and you'll end up dead all the same!" "I will not run away from my duty! I wont betray my kingdom." "What about me? don't you love me anymore?" He stands up from beside you. "We were never meant to be, Jungkook." You sit up at the edge of the bed. "Is this because i'm a peasant? Y/n i did all these for you! So you could be free from your royal duties and we could be together!"
"I cant leave now, jungkook! My father is gone and my brother had him killed. If I wont care for my kingdom, who else will?"
"Y/n you're not making any sense! Please think this through!" Jungkook kneels before you, fisting your skirt and crying into it, begging you to choose him. "Please leave, Jungkook."
A few days pass. Jungkook never came back. You guess he's left to return home to Sangju, or wherever he pleases. You spent your days recovering inside your chambers, your maidservants waiting on you. On the fourth day, you decide to summon Namjoon. "He's well, my lady. He gained consciousness this morning." He respectfully answers. "Where is he? May I see him?"
Namjoon takes you to the king's quarters, where Yoongi was staying. The blinds on the window were drawn all the way up to let the sun fill the whole room. He lay peacefully in the middle of the bed, a thick blanket bunched from his waist. His midsection is wrapped with clean gauze. His body is loitered with scars, but the rest of him is as smooth as porcelain. You took in his peaceful state, his breathing steady, and his kind features.
You stood motionless in the middle of the room, almost afraid to disturb his sleep. Namjoon whispers something to him before helping him to sit up. You were content to see his onyx eyes filled with life as they settle on yours.
"Ah there she is! My life saver!" His voice harsh from sleep. Namjoon settles himself at the corner of the room. "Didn't Namjoon tell you that you were my next target before you passed out?" You say, trying to impose yourself. "Before we passed out." He immediately corrects you. "I heard all about it. I like my women feisty. Gets me hard even when I'm losing blood!" He cackles loudly, before wincing at the pain in his midsection. He takes his time to recover. Namjoon makes no move to help him this time.
Once Yoongi recovers from his fit, Namjoon clears his throat and moves closer to the bed. "My lady, we have a proposition for you." Yoongi looks annoyed at Namjoon. "Are we doing this right now?" he asks. Namjoon gives him a look, eventually making the silver haired man sigh in exasperation.
He takes his time to gather his words as you wait patiently for him. He finally musters his words after a good while. "Princess y/n, I am asking for your hand in marriage-" "I accept." You reply, proud and plain. "Now before you protest- HUH" Namjoon's eyebrows almost reaches his hairline, unable to hide his surprise. "Great. Give us a moment, Namjoon." Yoongi huffs, both in relief and in exasperation. His loyal adviser quietly leaves the room.
"I'm not surprised, really. Its something you would do- accepting my proposal." Yoongi laughs a little to himself. "You know nothing about me." You counter his attempted familiarity towards you. "You know nothing about me as well and yet you accepted." He replies, sensing your hostility. "Because I wont let you ruin Joseon." "I have no plans of ruining Joseon. I'm here to help make it a better kingdom" "With methods of tyranny?" Your voice threatens to overpower. He takes his time to think. "Y/n, do you know why my men are from the peasant class? They are tired of being slaves of the rich yangban class. Your father had no plans for change, your brother was even worse." He calmly answers. "So you think they have you instead?" "No. The people have you. They have hope in you. There are rumors of the princess leaving the palace, bringing food for the hungry under the guise of a peasant. This gives people hope. They have placed their trust in you. I knew the moment you pointed that arrow at me that you are the hope of this kingdom."
You thought back to the days when you sneaked out to meet Jungkook. He lived with orphaned children. On your next visit, you brought food for them, and every visit since. It all felt like a lifetime ago. Those little things that didn't matter to you happened to mean so much to those who were really looking hard.
Yoongi slowly gets out of bed and kneels before you. You let him take your hand as he procures a ring made of black jade stone, putting it on your finger.
"If you ever double-cross me, Min Yoongi, I will not hesitate to kill you." "Yes, my queen." He bows before you.

Nap time
Day6 Extra Member AU
Summary: Day6 sleeping in their waiting room. They just want to go home. And Parker has some weird sleeping habits.
A/N: Hope you enjoy!
Requests are open! Let me know what you think.
Parker plopped herself down on the floor next to Dowoon, who waved his phone at her in question. He had Fortnite opened up with a wide smile on his face.
“Hell yeah!” Parker grinned, pulling her phone out of her bag that was leaning against the couch.
“I thought you said that you were tired?” Younghyun chuckled as he watched Parker sit criss-crossed, partially leaning against the wall and the side of the couch.
She waved at him, dismissively as the game loaded. “Never too tired for a round,” she quickly looked up and winked at him, snickering.
They had just finished a recording for a variety show. The recording had gone into the early hours of the morning due to scheduling mess ups and technical difficulties. Parker had said that she was tired, and she still was. But surprisingly (Not) she had the energy to game. Sungjin had every right to worry about her sleep schedule.
“Manager-hyung went to talk to the PD. Apparently, there were more mistakes than they originally thought, and may have to cut out scenes,” Sungjin said as he sat in one of the armchairs, head resting on the back.
“Will a lot have to be cut?” Jae asked, eyes closed as he too leaned back in his seat. Everyone was tired. Their schedules have been crazy, and the fact that they had spent so many hours on this recording for so much to be cut was a bit annoying.
“They’re not sure yet. We may have to go back and film a bit more to fill in time,” Sungjin answered.
“Can’t they just work editing magic on it and like slow-mo some stuff?” Parker asked without looking up from her phone.
“Your six,” Dowoon warned, then asked Sungjin, “Or do that thing where they repeat the same joke or reaction like three times for added effect?”
“I hate it when they do that,” Jae grumbled.
“Well, no one asked you. Plus it’ll get us home faster,” Parker snarked.
“Hey! Watch your tone, young lady,” Jae shouted in English. He snapped his eyes open and glared at her.
Parker didn’t even look up, “Or what, Mate?” She did however, lift her arm up and flexed real quick. Parker didn’t like to brag, but after years of gymnastics, she had some impressive muscles.
“I really don’t get why you provoke her. She beats you up every time,” Younghyun laughed.
“Shut up, Bri,” Jae glared, “She’s a bully. Sungjin, do your leader thing and tell her to stop.”
“How about both of you stop?” Sungjin rubbed his temples, the beginnings of a migraine caused by the Terrible Two.
“Yes, Oppa,” Parker nodded, feeling bad for causing Sungjin stress, but also trying to win herself brownie points.
“I hate you,” Jae whispered. Parker just smiled, while focusing on the game. Dowoon chuckled beside her.
About fifteen minute later, and all of Day6 were passed out. They had planned to wait for their manager, but had fallen asleep in the process. The staff had seen this and decided to leave them be, just in case they had to go back and re film some more.
When their manager entered the room, he smiled at the sight. Luckily, the PD had enough content and with a bit of editing, the episode would be alright. So now all he had to do was wake everyone up and get them home.
He moved over to Sungjin and lightly shook him. The leader easily woke and looked up to find their manager smiling.
“I guess we’re all set, huh?” the leader asked, wiping the sleep from his eyes. Their manager nodded and told him that he was going to bring the van around. Sungjin smiled and began to wake up the others.
He moved to Jae first and tapped him lightly. The eldest grumbled, but began to move. “What’s up?”
“We’re going home now,” Sungjin answered as he moved over to Younghyun and Wonpil. They were on the couch, Wonpil draped over the older. The leader laughed.
“Younghyun,” Sungjin called out and watched as said man awoke, startled. He looked around, and relaxed when he saw Sungjin. “We’re done.” Younghyun nodded and made to wake up Wonpil, who whined.
The leader moved over to the two youngest, though he paused when he couldn’t find the maknae. He squatted as he tapped Dowoon on the head and waited for him to wake up. When he did he asked, “Where’s Soo?”
Dowoon blinked a few times and then looked to his right, to where Parker had been before they had fallen asleep. He chuckled when he saw her. Sungjin looked as well, and his jaw dropped at the sight.
Parker had apparently fallen over and was now laying behind the couch. She had curled herself up which hid her from view.
“If she can sleep like that, then she’s not human,” Jae said as he looked over Sungjin’s shoulder.
“She must be so tired,” was all the leader said as he tapped her on the leg.
Parker’s eye shot open and for a few seconds she forgot where she was. She panicked when she came face to face with a wall. What the hell?
“Soo. You’re fine.” Parker heard Sungjin say. She sat up and found the guitarist by her feet. She had fallen asleep behind the couch? Geez.
“Idiot,” Jae laughed, leaning over the back of the couch and looking down at Parker.
“Go to Hell,” Parker grumbled as she let herself be pulled by her feet. She slid out of her hiding spot and was met with the rest of her members smiling at her.
“Aigoo. Our cute maknae,” Wonpil pinched her cheeks. Parker stopped glaring at Jae to smile at the visual. She then let out a yawn. Obviously, that nap wasn’t enough.
“Come on,” Younghyun said as he crouched, back facing her. She knew what he was offering and smiled.
“Thanks,” Parker whispered as she climbed on his back. He stood up and readjusted his hold on her.
“Okay. let’s go home now,” Sungjin smiled, grabbing his things and Parker’s. They all made their way through the building and out to the parking lot. Their manager was there waiting for them with the van.
Younghyun, turned around, and had Parker hop off his back. She quickly made her way to the back seat. The faster she sat down, the faster she could go back to sleep.
The Australian smiled sleepily, as Younghyun sat next to her, and Wonpil on his other side. Dowoon and Sunjin sat in the middle row, while Jae sat up front (The only place that could accommodate his long legs.)
Parker yawned again, and almost closed her eyes, but saw that Younghyun was listening to music. She took one of his earbuds, then took his phone as well to search for a song. The older just chuckled as he watched her.
She scrolled for a bit until she found Coffee for Your Head and pressed play. “I like this song a lot,” she said, closing her eyes. The youngest soon fell asleep again, her head resting on the bassist's shoulder.

PAIRING: Yoongi x Reader
GENRE: Romance
WARNINGS: Language
WORD COUNT: 7099
AUTHORS NOTE: This is my prompt for @btsboulangerie monthly prompt! August’s prompt is a Sports AU using the quote: You did that on purpose, didn’t you? As I don’t know a single thing about sports, this AU was really challenging for me to write. But fake it til you make, amiright?! There will be wrong hockey references since I googled for a lot of my information. There will also be a lot of grammatical errors since I’m finishing this half asleep at 5am. But I hope you all enjoy! Please hop over to @btsboulangerie and check out the rest of the fabulous AUs!
_________________________________
Has anyone ever seen that stupid, cliché movie about the shy, introverted college girl who moonlights as the university's mascot and is hopelessly in love with the star player of a rival hockey team who doesn't even know she exists?
No? That's because it's not a movie. It's just your ridiculously sad life.
It's already sweltering underneath the polyester and foam layers of your costume, but when Min Yoongi glides past you on the ice with that signature scowl on his face, a thick blanket of nerves wraps tightly around your body, making you feel impossibly warmer. The game hasn't even begun and you're already drenched in your own perspiration, your hair and clothing clinging to your skin and no doubt only adding to the levels of stench that line the inside fabric – most of which definitely belong to you.
Most of the women in this arena would be swooning over other players tonight; Park Jimin who is quite possibly the most beautiful human in existence, Jeon Jungkook who only has to flash the protruding veins on his forearms to get women to fall at his feet and Kim Taehyung who always has the poise of somebody who just stepped out of a painting – just to name a few. The trio were star players on your university's team – the Ulsan Penguins – and largely responsible for the mass amounts of scantily clad women risking pneumonia in their low-cut tops and miniskirts, hoping to catch the team's attention. But your eyes couldn't linger on your team for too long. Like a sickness, you find yourself searching for the familiar mop of dark brown hair.
You audibly sigh when you seek him out, muttering angrily to himself before rearing back and kicking the shin of one of his teammates. Min Yoongi was perpetually angry, slouchy and generally just rough around the edges. His muscles weren't ripped and the only kind of artful poise he possessed was one from a Jackson Pollock painting.
You don't have the slightest idea why your heart has decided that he's the one hanging your moon and stars.
“Y/N!” a voice calls your name loudly from behind the barrier. Waddling your costume in the direction of the voice, you find one of the student coaches leaning against the divider. “There you are! I've been looking all over for you.”
You scoff in disbelief. “Jin, I'm in a six foot penguin costume. You must not have been looking very hard.”
He rolls his eyes before slapping a thick stack of papers into the penguin's glove and closing the extended fingers around it. “The school wants you to pass out these event calendars tonight. Try to give them to our side only. They'll end up crumpled in the parking lot if you give any to Daegu.”
He spits out the rival team's name as if he had just tasted a rotten pickle. You sigh dramatically, hoping the sound is loud enough through the barrier of the costume for Jin to hear. A typical game night consists of bopping around to some music, motioning for the crowd to cheer and applause and posing for a few photos with children. Your one-on-one interaction is strictly limited and that's why you don't really mind this gig so much. Now you have to approach people?
This is seriously going to cut into your Yoongi watching time.
“Aigoo, you have to be pleasant for a change? It must be difficult for you, I'm sure,” Jin teases with a playful chuckle, his head bobbing sympathetically. You lunge toward him in retaliation but the penguin suit doesn't allow for quick movements. Jin is already shouldering his way through the crowd before you can even waddle forward. Huffing, you turn back toward Yoongi. He's seated on a bench, his body hunched forward to secure the laces of his skates. Teammates that you haven't cared enough to learn the names of surround him, laughing boisterously at their own jokes and you're fortunate enough to catch the tiniest upturn of the left side of Yoongi's mouth.
And it's like all of your insides have turned to jelly.
The first time you ever laid eyes on Yoongi, he was wearing this exact same smirk. It was roughly six months ago, your first night taking on the job as Olly the Ulsan Penguin. While your classes, books and dorm expenses were taken care of thanks to grants, scholarships and the college funds that your parents had been contributing to since the day you were born, you often found yourself without pocket change. In true college student fashion, you ate ramen. You ate ramen a lot. You ate ramen so much that the possibility of undigested noodles showing up on an x-ray of your gut seems highly, highly likely. Basically, you were sick of ramen and decided to do something about it. The pay for parading around as PJ the Penguin was meager and wouldn't satisfy most students, but it was more than enough to keep your small kitchen well stocked. And you haven't had to even think about ramen since receiving your first paycheck.
You had been on your way to rink, snacking on a small bag of chips as you walked because you hadn't had dinner that day. As you reached for the door handle, it suddenly burst open, startling you so much that you lost your footing fell square on your ass. While you were on the ground, your precious bag of chips were still midair. You reached your hand out to catch them but before they could hit the ground, a foreign hand appeared out of nowhere and snatched them.
“Save!” a voice yelled obnoxiously. Your eyes followed the hand that now holds your snack to the body of a boy who was probably around your age, decked out completely in hockey gear. He's flanked by a few others in matching jerseys. “Thanks for the chips, stranger!”
“Those are mine!” you had cried indignantly as if you were a toddler who didn't want to share a toy. His only response was a coy grin before he emptied the contents of the bag into his mouth, making sure every last crumb was down his throat before he crumpled the bag and threw it back in your direction. His friends had cackled and howled as if it was the funniest thing they've ever seen, praising the disgusting action as they walked away from you.
You were still on the ground, still gaping in disbelief, when a fresh, unopened bag of chips was thrust into your face. Following this hand, you found Min Yoongi on the other end. He was wearing the same gear and the same jersey as the jerks before him. He was also wearing the smirk, that deadly tip of the side of his mouth that sunk the hook into your chest and never came out. You cautiously accepted the crisps with an uncertain nod of gratitude. He gifted you one more dangerous smirk before he had sauntered away to catch up with the rest of his team.
You remember your mouth being so dry that you couldn't even eat the new bag of chips.
The obnoxious horn that signals the beginning of a game brings you back to reality. Yoongi has disappeared from his previous spot, no doubt huddled at the players bench with his coach. You sigh, your eyes moving toward the stack of papers still clutched in the costume's glove. Maybe if you approached big groups or large families, you could get rid of the majority of the calendars in one fell swoop. Nodding in agreement with your own plan, you waddle over to the first large family you see; a disorderly group of six with two very haggard adults and four very rambunctious children. The kids screech when you approach, leaping off of the bleachers to lunge at you. The thickness of the penguin costume comes in handy during times like these as the fabric guards you from their prying fingers. After handing them a few of the calendars and posing for a few pictures with the children who you were positive were making obscene gestures from beside you, you move onto another large group. Twenty minutes later, you're leaning against the barrier in exhaustion. You've successfully gotten rid of the stack of calendars and you've been studiously avoiding Jin in case in tried to give you more.
“Look boys, it's Olly,” you hear a voice declare from behind. Twirling around, you face four teenage boys – well, three teenage boys that you're sure of; the fourth looks older, larger and like he could rip this costume to pieces with his bare hands. And judging by the dark look on his face … you think he's probably going to. Giving the boys a quick wave and a quick bow, you unlatch the barrier door and move yourself onto the ice so you can move to where the team is seated. You know that you'll most likely be reprimanded for this as it was 100% against the rules for anyone who isn't an active player or referee to be on the ice while a game is in play, but with the puck being tossed around on the opposite side of the arena, you hoped that if you moved quickly enough, you could slide to the team corner without disturbing the game.
“What's wrong, Olly? Aren't you supposed to spread some team spirit? I'm not feeling very cheery right now,” the large boy taunts, leaning over the barrier to inch closer to you.
Okay, this kid is definitely giving off the vibe of somebody who rips the legs off of spiders for fun. You need to get out of there quickly.
Lifting a foot, you use your weight to push yourself forward. With the softness of the costume, you know that you'll be able to slide right to your target. But … you're not moving. You grip the barrier for support as you attempt to move yourself again. Instead of going forward, you're yanked backwards roughly. The force knocks you against the barrier and despite the thick layers of fabric between the costume and your body, you feel the wall knock into your spine painfully.
“I said,” his seethes viciously, his face close to the head of the costume. “Where is my team spirit?”
Those are his last words before he lets you go, using his brute strength to shove you as hard as he can. You feel yourself flying backwards, your arms flailing to hopefully catch your fall. To anyone else, this might have been a funny sight. Olly the Ulsan Penguin literally in the air, flapping his wings in a desperate attempt to fly. Some might even think this was a planned stunt to make the children laugh.
But this was very accidental, very real and was about to get very painful.
You jam your eyes shut and hope that the players are still dominating the other half of the arena so that at the very least, you won't interrupt the game and cause Ulsan any penalties. But since this is your sad life, nothing really works out the way that you hope it does.
You crash right into a player. Hard.
Your body sweeps his legs right out from under him and he falls onto the top of you, your head bouncing painfully onto the cold, hard surface of the ice. The impact cuts your senses immediately; your vision going dark, only hazy bits of stars floating around and you feel as if you're hearing everything through a tin can. You can make out the sound of loud shouts and booing as you struggle to lift your head.
But before you can remove yourself from the ice, somebody does it for you.
“You did that on purpose, didn't you? You're dead, you piece of shit.”
A hand grabs the front of the costume, impressively jerking your body off of the ice as if the weight was nothing. You're startled when the mascot head is ripped off from your shoulders, the bright lights of the arena making your already throbbing head swell with even more pain. The first thing you register is that you are face-to-face with Min Yoongi, so close that you could lean forward and brush your lips against his cheek. The second thing you register is the murderous look on his face, his arm pulled back and fist clenched so tightly that the veins on his hands looked as if they were about to burst. All it takes is the sight of his fist and you're cowering, lowering your head into your arms in a pathetic attempt to block you from any punches.
You've never been hit by anyone in your life. You can't believe Yoongi – the boy you've been admiring from afar for half of a year – is going to be the first.
“Don't you lay a fucking finger on her!” voices snarl loudly in the distance. There's a commotion and your body is dropped. Luckily, arms surround you before your head can hit the ice again. “Are you out of your mind?”
Now that the voices are near, you can distinguish them clearly belonging to Jin and Namjoon, the two student coaches for the Ulsan Penguins and your direct supervisors on game nights. Namjoon's tan, bulky arms slip under your armpits to pull you onto your feet, hands holding your shoulders in place as your body wobbles woozily.
“I didn't know, okay?” Yoongi defends angrily. “Your dickhead players have been harassing me all week. What I was supposed to think when your team's mascot knocks me on my fucking ass?”
“I'm sorry,” you mumble, hopefully loud enough for Yoongi to hear. The throbbing in your head is only intensifying with every passing minute and you find it hard to raise your own voice. Jin chuckles humorlessly. “Y/N, don't apologize. It was an accident. It's not your fault that this asshole is a thoughtless neanderthal.”
You watch the anger on Yoonig's face morph into rage as he unfastens his helmet and whips it to the ground. There's a collective gasp in the arena as Yoongi takes a daring step toward Jin, his chest lifted threateningly. “What the fuck did you just say?”
“Jin,” you call weakly, tapping on Namjoon's arm to reason with the taller boy. He sighs, keeping one hand on your shoulder and using the other to pull Jin back by the hood of his sweater. The referee chooses now to interfere, pushing hands on the chests of both Yoongi and Jin to back them away from each other. A man who appears to be a few years older than you jogs over, standing beside Yoongi with a menacing expression.
“Accident? Really? What reason was there for your mascot to be on the ice? We will be reviewing security footage and if it looks like any kind of foul play is involved, we'll be contacting your university disciplinary board,” he warns, his finger pointing in your direction. You lower your head in shame.
“Knock it off, Hoseok. Let's just get back to the damn game,” Yoongi mutters, slapping his coach's hand away from you. He turns on his heel to walk away and you can't help but notice the slight limp in his step, the way his body tenses when he puts pressure on his left leg. How badly had you injured him? Would it affect this game, this season? The thought of Yoongi's hockey career ending before it really begins because of you is terrifying and for a moment, you believe you've begun to shed tears when you feel a cool liquid drop onto your cheek. When Namjoon turns to face you, though, he gasps at the sight.
“Y/N! Fuck, you're bleeding. Jin, she's got a pretty nasty head wound. Why don't you take her over to the campus hospital and I'll stay for the rest of the game?”
Jin agrees, and you're led carefully off of the ice and through the hushed audience, the majority of which have their phones locked in your direction. No doubt there are already videos being uploaded to social media and by this time tomorrow, you know that the incident will have spread like wildfire. This would be okay if Yoongi hadn't exposed your identity by removing Olly's head. You could be whoever you wanted to be inside the costume. But outside of the costume? You were a nobody. You were the nameless loner girl who was just there, focusing on her studies and watching anime to avoid social interaction any chance she got. You were overlooked and forgotten and your existence was only acknowledged by a handful of people. People will know who you are now, sure, but you can't find a reason to be happy about it when you know your name will be accompanied by insults and laughter.
Jin maneuvers you through the parking lot to his car. On the way, you pass university cops detaining the four teenagers that lit the flame on this entire garbage fire of an evening. The large one that shoved you sneers as you get closer, and even though your limbs feel as if they weigh a million pounds, you find enough strength to lift your hand and raise your middle finger. He's sputtering in disbelief as Jin opens the passenger side door for you, gently guiding your body onto the seat and buckling you in. The moment the back of your head touches the soft comfort of the headrest, you feel your consciousness begin to fade.
“Y/N? Wake up. I can't let you go to sleep in case you have a concussion.”
You groan, your eyes popping open to see the window scenery move as Jin pulls out of the parking lot. The motion makes you instantly dizzy and you close your eyes again. “You need to talk to me then. I want to sleep so bad.”
“Okay. Let me think,” he hums as he contemplates. “Should I begin with scolding you for being on the ice? You know it's against the rules, Y/N. If you were being attacked, you could have yelled out and any one of us would have heard you. Also, you should never-”
“Screw this. I'm going to sleep,” you interrupt, tilting your head away from him.
Jin chuckles. “Did you at least pass out all the calendars?”
“Every single one of them.”
“That's good. I was worried you wouldn't have enough time to ogle Min Yoongi tonight,” he teases. Your eyes pop open in surprise, your neck whipping in his direction. You wince when the action conjures a trill of sharp pain in your head.
“What are you talking about? Why would I ogle Min Yoongi?” you ask, nervous laughter bubbling up from your throat. Jin rolls his eyes dramatically.
“Oh, please. It's clear as day to anybody who is in that arena that you're in love with him. I wasn't going to say anything but we've had some complaints from parents that Olly hasn't been very peppy. It seems like whenever Namjoon and I find you, you're leaning against the barrier to watch him.”
You scoff as if it's the most ridiculous thing you've ever heard. “I'm in a penguin costume. The eyes are plastic – how the hell can you tell where I'm watching?”
“Y/N,” Jin sighs, casting you a knowing side-glance. Your shoulders slump in defeat.
“I'm not in love with him. I don't really know him. I just … I guess it's a really, really big crush,” you confess quietly. “One that kind of went up in flames tonight. He won't ever want anything to do with me now – not that I ever stood a chance before any of this anyway.”
“Are you fishing for compliments?” Jin teases again. You roll your eyes. This man was completely incapable of being serious. “I'm not going to offer you words of wisdom but in my opinion? You are way too good for Min Dick.”
“Are you only saying that because he plays for Daegu?”
He snaps his fingers. “That would be correct.”
“I don't know why I'm talking to you right now,” you mutter to yourself, leaning your head back but using every inch of willpower left inside of you to keep your eyes open. Minutes pass by in silence. From the street signs and buildings outside the window, you know that you'll be pulling up to the hospital soon.
“Y/N? Don't put yourself down, okay?”
Jin's sudden seriousness surprises you. “What are-”
“You're too hard on yourself. If I wasn't already in a devoted relationship and had met you earlier on, I really think I would have asked you out. And I'm not the only one.”
You chuckle in disbelief. “Whatever you say, Jin.”
“No, I'm being sincere. There are some members on the team who gawk at you like you gawk at Min Dick. All I'm saying is that if things don't work out with Min Dick, there are Ulsan players who will gladly fulfill your puck bunny fantasies.”
“If I had the strength, I would pinch you so hard right now. One – stop calling him Min Dick. And two – I am most definitely not a puck bunny,” you argue as Jin pulls the car into emergency parking.
“Oh, you're right. Sorry, sorry. You're a Min Dick bunny,” he clarifies obnoxiously, his windshield-wiper laughter deafening and grating. You groan loudly.
“All I want in my life right now is for you to be hit by a car,” you tell him earnestly. Jin laughs even harder.
__________________________________
Unfortunately for you, most of the campus has chosen tonight to be clumsy. You've been on a bed surrounded by curtains for well over two hours now, only visited once by a nurse to inject a small dose of morphine into your IV and hook you up to what seems like hundreds of bedside monitors. They're running around like headless chickens on the other side of your curtains, people crying of gashes and broken bones, overdoses and seizures. Jin had been by your side faithfully for the first forty-five minutes but after taking a phone call from his very upset girlfriend, you sent him on his way with the promise that you would message him from your laptop when you got back to the dorms.
With your phone tucked away in the Ulsan locker room, you're left with nothing but your thoughts to keep you occupied. Your mind replays tonight's events over and over and over, a torturous loop that adds to your misery a little more every time you run through it. The way his knees buckled when you slammed into him, the fury in his eyes when he pulled the Olly head away from you, the protruding veins on his hand as he balled his fingers into the tightest fist he could. A fist that he was going to use on you and not in the good way.
Not that … not that you would know anything about the good way. Or maybe you do. You might be a virgin but you're not a clueless virgin. A very x-rated mental picture paints itself in your head of Yoongi using his fist the good way. Your cheeks immediately flush red and you can't stop the barrage of embarrassed giggles that suddenly plague you.
Wow, this morphine is intense. You're still giggling by yourself when the curtain is abruptly yanked back. The giggles catch in your throat and you emit the most earsplitting loud hiccup that has ever come from you before. You slap your hands over your mouth in horror when you realize who is standing in front of your bed.
Min Dick.
No, wait. It's Min Yoongi.
You're engulfed in a mixture of giggles and hiccups. Your hysteria attracts the attention of hospital staff and a few other patients, prompting Yoongi to pull the curtains shut so that it's just the two of you.
“Jin said they had given you some morphine but you're a real lightweight, aren't you?” he sighs, pulling a stray chair up to your bedside and sitting down next to you.
“Min Dick,” you mumble in mirth, lifting your fingers to wipe the moisture from your eyes. Yoongi's jaw drops open.
“What did you just call me? Are you the one who came up with that nickname?”
His accusation sobers you almost instantly.
“Did you come to yell at me?” you ask quietly. You want to wince at how pitiful and small your own voice sounds. Yoongi looks freshly showered; his dark hair damp and flopping over a red headband. He smells of soap and cologne, the two scents combining to form a tantalizing aroma. You want to groan. You even have a crush on his scent.
Yoongi sighs, running a hand through the back of his hair. “No, I'm sorry. I actually came to apologize.”
You can feel your eyes comically widening. “Apologize? What for? I should be apologizing to you. I knocked into you pretty hard.”
“But we reviewed the footage. You were shoved by that little shit-eater,” he pauses, his face tinging slightly pink as he apologizes quickly for his language, “and you really flew. I'm the one who overreacted and assumed you were intentionally attacking me so … I'm sorry. I think I really scared you.”
He shifts his body and you suddenly notice the white bandage wrapped around his left knee. You gasp loudly. “Did I do that to your leg? Is it broken? Will you be able to play in the next game? Oh my god -”
Yoongi seems startled by your onslaught of worries. “I ruined your hockey career, didn't I? You're going to have to choose another profession but you're always going to look back and hate me for taking your passion away from you. I am so sorry. Oh my god, I-”
“Y/N, will you stop?” Yoongi leans over and places his hand over your mouth. The feel of his skin against your lips shuts you up immediately, your cheeks so heated that you could probably scramble an egg on them. “This is not the plot of some dumb teen movie. Hockey is not my passion, you did not ruin my career and my leg is only bruised but they wrapped it as a precaution. Should I go grab you a pen and paper so you can write the next big Hallmark movie?”
Eyes wide, you shake your head no. Yoongi smirks as he removes his hand from your mouth and sits back down.
“I don't think we've officially met,” he says, jutting his palm in your direction. You fold your fingers around his, internally squealing at how your hand fits perfectly in his. “I'm Min Yoongi. It's nice to meet you, Y/N.”
“We've actually met before,” you tell him, recalling the smirk on his face when he had held the bag of chips out to you. Your face burns even hotter at the memory.
“But we never introduced ourselves back then.”
You eyebrows raise in surprise. You were so positive that your first interaction with Yoongi was one-sided, that you were just a casual happenstance in his evening. “Do you actually remember what I'm talking about?”
“Of course I do,” he scoffs as if he's offended. “My teammates were being immature little asshats -” he breaks out into a sheepish grin at the vulgar language - “and I swooped in and saved the day.”
“Saved the day? You replaced my bag of half-eaten chips. Sorry, Yoongi, but you're no Iron Man.”
The morphine makes you confident enough to be coy with him and it works, he laughs heartily, a gummy grin splitting across his face. The sight of it blooms a new kind of throbbing in your chest; an exciting kind that has goosebumps lining the length of your arm.
“How long do you have to stay here for? Do you have a ride home?” he asks a few moments later when a tense silence envelopes the small curtained-off area. You shake your head.
“I haven't even been seen yet. I'll worry about a way home when I'm done.”
His brows furrow in confusion. “Didn't you and Jin come straight here from the arena? That was two and a half hours ago. Nobody has been in here to examine your head?”
“I guess there are other patients who take priority tonight.”
“Priority?” Yoongi stands up, anger marring his features. “Your head literally bounced off of the ice. You have a concussion for sure and they're keeping you waiting for two hours? That's fucking unacceptable.”
“Yoongi -” you reach out to grab the sleeve of his white hoody but he shakes you off, pulling the curtains back with enough force to yank down the entire steel frame and disappearing around the corner. “Yoongi, it's okay. Don't-”
“Excuse me!” you hear him demand loudly from the front desk. “My friend has a head injury and has been kept waiting for over two hours. Are you planning on treating her concussion anytime soon or are you waiting for her to pass out and die in her sleep? Because if that happens, I will personally rain hellfire down onto all of you. Got it? Y/N L/N. Put her at the top of the list right now.”
The look of smugness on his face when he returns to your bedside has you giggling again.
“I think every person on this floor heard you screaming. It's so quiet in here now.”
He shrugs, kicking his legs up as if it was his intention. “I can't help it that people find me scary. It has its advantages though.”
“I don't find you scary.”
He frowns, his gaze dropping down to his lap. “You were, though. You were scared of me today. On the ice.”
“You had your fist raised as if you were going to sucker-punch. Of course I was scared. Anyone would be. But I wasn't scared of you … just at the thought of being sucker-punched.”
“Again, I'm sorry. I really thought you were-”
“Yoongi, stop apologizing. It was an accident and misunderstanding. I blame my concussion on the man-child that Hulk tossed me halfway across the ice. You were just an innocent bystander. I'm sorry about your knee.”
Yoongi chuckles, his head shaking in disbelief. “You have an open wound on your head and you're apologizing to me for a little bruise on my knee? You're something else.”
________________________________
It's only ten minutes later when a doctor slips in to examine your head. His eyes land on Yoongi and he gulps in fear, his attention scrambling back to the clipboard. Yoongi's gaze meets yours and he smirks, pursing his lips as he nods and kicks his leg up over his knee. You have to hide your mouth in the palm of your hand to restrain your giggles. As expected, there is an open wound on the top of your head. Only four stitches were needed to close the wound but the immeasurably pain of having your head sewed shut leaves you even woozier than before. Yoongi stays beside you the entire time, reaching over at one point to grip your hand tightly in his own. The gesture doesn't lessen the pain but provides you with a sense of comfort, like the warmest, thickest blanket on a chilly day. You can't imagine the misery of having to go through this ordeal alone.
“We're sending you home with some pain medication. Take one tablet every eight hours until they're gone. The next ten hours are the most dangerous. If you plan on sleeping, you need somebody to wake you up every hour to make sure you're okay. Do you have somebody that can do that for you? If not, you're going to need to stay here overnight.”
You're sure everybody in the room can tell by the way your face drops what your answer is. The only person you can think of that would even consider baby-siting you all night is Jin. But after the strife you caused with his girlfriend earlier, you decide not to poke the bear and leave them be.
“I guess I'm staying-” “I'll watch her.”
You and Yoongi speak at the same time but all sets of eyes in the room move toward the boy with the red headband. “I can watch her overnight. No problem.”
“Yoongi, no. You're probably exhausted from your game and need the rest more than I do. I don't mind staying here. Honestly.”
“Honestly, Y/N, I don't mind. I'm not that exhausted. Do you have a couch I can crash on? I'll set my alarm for every hour. Besides, I can't leave you here. I don't trust them. It took them so long to actually examine you, imagine how long they'd let you sleep.”
“Yoongi,” you scold, nodding apologetically to the doctor and nurse who tense at the insults. “I guess I have somebody so you can discharge me whenever you'd like.”
You're sure they'd love to get you out of there as soon as they possibly can.

“Sorry if it's messy. I didn't expect company today. Well, I never expect any company but … never mind. I'll stop talking.”
“Why do women always complain that their places are messy when they're always super clean?” Yoongi mutters, hand still gripping your arm as his eyes take in the expanse of your dorm room. You were lucky enough to score a single room and have never been as grateful about it as you are right now.
“Been in a lot of women's places?”
He huffs. “Shut up. Where do you want to lay down? Your bed?”
“How about the couch? I have a massive reclining chair that you can rest on. It's super comfortable so you can stretch out as much as you'd like.”
Thankfully, since you are a big advocate for naps, you already have various blankets and pillows strewn about the living room. After making sure that Yoongi has the cleanest, fluffiest bedding you own, you stretch yourself out on the couch, hissing when your head rubs against the fabric of the pillow.
“Easy, easy. What are you trying to do – rip your stitches open?” Yoongi asks sarcastically, his hand guiding your head gently down onto the pillow. You hope he can't hear how loud your heart is drumming in your chest right now. “I've set my alarms for every hour. When you're up for good, let me know, okay?”
“Okay,” I squeak, watching as he settles himself onto the chair. His body exhales a sigh of contentedness as he pulls the blanket to his chin. “Yoongi?”
He hums in response.
“Thank you. For this. It means a lot to me.”
“You're welcome,” he mumbles. Silence follows, nothing but the buzzing of your refrigerator and the occasional student loudly passing your door. Your eyes are heavy and you feel as if you're right on the brink of sleep when Yoongi clears his throat. “So … you're not … you don't have a boyfriend?”
Well, that certainly wakes you up.
All you can do is laugh at his ridiculous question. “What would make you think I have a boyfriend? He'd be a pretty shitty one if he let me hang out in the ER with some guy that isn't him all night.”
“Point taken. I just always saw you in the arena for short amounts of time. I always thought you were dating a player for Ulsan and that's why you hung around so much. But I guess it's because you're their mascot so … you don't have a boyfriend.”
“I don't have a boyfriend,” you confirm, slightly bewildered that this conversation is even happening and wondering if you maybe slipped into dreamland without realizing it. The sting of pain after a quick pinch to your arm proves that to be false. “Is this information relevant to anything or are you just curious?”
“Curiosity, I guess,” he says and slashes any hopes you had of him asking you out. “How long have you been the penguin?”
“About six months. It's easy money and Jin and Namjoon are really great bosses.”
He hums in response before silence ensues. Minutes go by without any sound and you feel yourself slipping into sleep again when he groans frustratingly. You raise your head off of the pillow, watching as he pushes himself to a sitting position.
“What's wrong? Are the pillows not comfortable? You can have the ones on my bed if you-”
“Y/N, stop talking. I want to say this so don't interrupt me because I'm not good at stuff like this and honestly I'm really terrified so I just need you to listen-”
“Yoongi, take a breath-”
“Shhh! Don't interrupt!” he scolds, his eyes fierce on yours. You shrink back into the cushions of your couch. “Jesus, why is this so hard? Okay, I'm just going to come right out and fucking say it – I think you are the most beautiful girl I've ever seen and I was really fucking relieved just now when you confirmed that you don't have a boyfriend.”
You had already been to the hospital for a concussion tonight but you might just have to go back for the massive heart-attack you're about to have. Did Yoongi just confess? Was that a confession? Is this real life right now?
“Now you can talk so … please say something,” he pleads. You clear your throat. What do you even say? I accept? I think you're beautiful too? I've been obsessed with you for six months? No, none of those seem appropriate.
“Is this a prank, Yoongi? Are you joking or are you being serious?”
He groans. “I know I can be an asshole but I'm not that much of an asshole. I'm being dead serious, Y/N.”
You don't know what to say but you know what you want to do. Where was all that confidence from the hospital? You need another dose of morphine right about now. Gulping down your nervousness, you sit up and pull the blanket back with trembling fingers. Rising from the couch, you approach a gobsmacked Yoongi who does nothing but gape at you as you crawl onto the recliner chair and settle yourself next to him. When you're nestled comfortably against his side, you take a deep breath, lean up and kiss him quickly on the cheek.
When you open your eyes, he's grinning down at you.
_____________________________________
“Where are you? Pick up, pick up,” you chant to yourself, phone to your ear as you scour the arena for the familiar floppy hair of your boyfriend. Daegu is playing Ulsan again tonight and you were originally scheduled to be in the Olly costume. However, a change in the due date for one of your term papers had you desperate for the afternoon free. Jin had graciously agreed to let you off for the evening and you had literally just clicked submit ten minutes ago, rushing out of the dorm to meet Yoongi before his game ends.
The game is clearly over, random players milling about the ice, children taking shots into the goal posts. You spot Olly in the corner, waving goodbye to children exiting the arena. You're wondering who Jin roped into wearing the costume tonight when a pair of pale arms slip around Olly's waist from behind, engulfing the penguin in a romantic back hug. The children gasp at the intimacy and upon squinting hard enough, your jaw drops when you see who the arms belong to.
“Oh, no, Yoongi,” you mumble to yourself through your own quiet laughter.
Yoongi was clearly not aware that you called off today.
Olly flails his arms and pulls himself away to escape the grasp of your boyfriend but Yoongi pulls the penguin in even closer, fingers splaying out to caress the feathers on the stomach. Children gawk and adults laugh at Yoongi's silliness but you know that right now he's actually trying his hardest to be romantic. You appreciate it but … you just wish it was with you.
Deciding that enough is enough, you cross the bleachers to where the two are still locked in a lover's embrace. Yoongi's eyes are closed as he uses his weight to sway both him and the poor soul stuck in the costume back and forth.
You clear your throat. “Min Yoongi, are you cheating on me?”
You regret not having your phone out to record his reaction. His eyes snap open immediately, neck snapping around to face you. His bewildered gaze moves quickly between you and Olly, Olly and you, before he realizes that it's not you he's caressing so romantically.
“Jagi, what the fuck? Why aren't you in the costume?” his voice is loud and frantic as he backs away from the mascot. “And who the fuck is in the costume if you're not?”
Like a scene straight out of Scooby-Doo, Yoongi leans up and snatches Olly's head off of the shoulders. Jin's sheepish face stares back at the both of you before he breaks out into his windshield-wiper laugh.
“And I would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for you meddling Y/N!” Jin exclaims through his chuckles. “By the way, you are a very lucky girl. He's got a tight grip on him.”
“Shut up, Jin,” you squeak, pushing him away. You grab Yoongi's hand and yank him in the opposite direction before your boss can say anything else that will humiliate you and enrage your boyfriend. It isn't until you've reached the stairwell leading to the locker room that you break down into much deserved laughter.
“I'm going to kick his ass one of these days, I swear,” Yoongi mumbles, but he can't help but grin at the sight of you laughing so carelessly. “Stop laughing, Y/N. I'm traumatized.”
“You're traumatized? Really?” you ask as he tugs you closer to his body. His fingers trail down your spine, leaving a satisfying burn in their path.
“Yes, I wanted to hold my girlfriend, not your asshole boss. Now you'll have to do something to erase him from my memory.”
You smirk, lifting yourself up on your toes to capture his lips in a searing kiss. He's breathless when you pull away. “Good enough? Still thinking of my boss?”
He grins against your lips, moving you forward until your back is against the wall. “Nope, Jin is a pretty handsome guy. I'm going to need a lot more than that.”

Hskskks okay, so like this is more of a crack req than anything, but like, what would happen if everyone of you were to write a short yandere fic together by one sentence each or one word each. For example: ambi: the, chinkbihh: boy, and so on. I kinda got the idea from a bnha crack vid where they described each character or something w one word randomly. I think it'll be fun to see where it goes 😂😂😂
You were walking down the street, heels clacking against the pavement. It was peaceful day, until a truck pulled up next to you. “Get in the van hoe.” An unbelievably attractive man said, winking at you. Despite his derogatory words, you were convinced to get in the van like the hoe he said you were. -⛓
Who would’ve thought the drive would be that quick? Within minutes, the van pulled up to gigantic building that towered in the sky. The staff escorted you through the doors and into the elevator, bringing you to a pair of double doors. They looked over at you expectantly, ushering you to open the door. To be honest, you wished you didn’t. It was such a spectacle. Seven boys, you think they are boys, doing who knows what. -🎉
Of course you recognized them. You’d hauled your entire life over to Korea because of these fine ass oppars like the koreaboo you are. Before you could rush forward and ask to suck Namjoon’s titties, you were surprised to find Jimin’s small self pinning Taehyung to the wall like some fifty shades of grey stuff. Just as you were about to go on twitter and prove to all the snot nosed haters that your ship was real, they all turned towards you. “Hey it’s that hoe from instagram,” -👀
You scoffed in offense, ‘that hoe from instagram’? How fucking dare they?! You are ‘THE hoe from instagram.’ As you neared the group, you heard parts of the bickering from Jimin and Tae.
“This is all your fault!” Jimin hollered at the taller one.
Tae just smirked. Being the peacemaker he was, Jin tried to intervene.
“Guys, I can cast a spell on him and we can be over and done with. We’ll have her to ourselves.” The mother hen chided softly. Tae snapped his head over to him to screech; “SHUT YOUR HOCUS POCUS HEADASS UP, WE SETTLE THIS ON THE STREETS.”
Jin rolled his eyes. “Fuck you gonna do Edward Cullen? Sparkle our ceo to death?”
Jimin chuckled at this, causing Tae to snap once more. “Jimin...I didn’t want to do you like this but I’m gonna have to expose you. I saw you crying while watching to train your dragon and it wasn’t a good look sis.”
Before Jimin could open his mouth to retort, the door opened to reveal the CEO of BigHit himself.
He stalked to you with hunger in his eyes. Almost predatory, really. Like when Trump spots a group of immigrants.
A staff member leaned over as the ceo came closer.
“I think Moto moto likes you.”
-(chinkbihh)
Your mouth was dry, lips cracked and palms sweaty. Almost like that one eminem song. You looked at Moto Moto, his big easter island head imposing into your personal space. No surprise he was breathing out of his mouth. You scoffed for the 30th time that day and flipped your hair, the tendrils hitting him square in the face. You were about to tell Jimin that How to Train Your Dragon 2 was far superior, when you saw something out of the corner of your eye. It was Gwanju’s #1 snacc Jung Hoseok, viciously hip thrusting as he watched himself in the mirror. Damn, you wanted to succ his dicc. But you noticed you may not have been the only one with that thought. Yoongi was eyeing him up too, looking at his ass and thighs and shit. Lil meow meow was giving his daddy the “sex eyes” and this idea inspired you to update your AO3 fic. -🥀
Your attention shifted, looking over at a slump figure at the back corner of the room. As you squinted closer, you realized it was Namjoon, hugging his legs together, his face mortified. All of a sudden, Namjoon sat up, running over to Yoongi and strangling him by the collar of his shirt. “STOP IT. STOP THINKING OF DOING ANOTHER PART OF MYSELF. I CAN SEE EVERYTHING YOU’RE THINKING.” Yoongi’s eyes widened as he realized Namjoon was a part of him and Hoseok was too… Wait. Hoseok looked over at the two other parts of himself, giving the ‘what the fuck is wrong with you’ face. He pointed behind the two of them over to you. “She looks like a koreaboo. What the fuck. Who brought her in here? Yoongi go eat her or something, i really don’t care.” Hoseok plopped down onto the floor, slapping his cheeks to cool down his flustered state. “ALSO, WHY WERE YOU THE DOM IN YOUR DREAM?” Yoongi ran off, hiding behind Namjoon’s back. -🎉
In the midst of this drama, you had forgotten about your ex Jungoo. Even though he was an oppar of BTS, he was the one person you weren't gwenchana gucci with.
He was staring you down.
“Bitch,” He said scoffing, and you frowned.
“jinja?? aigoo, why are you so mean to me, HUH??” You asked.
He scoffed again, like Sasuke Uchiha in naruto fanfictions and as if the answer was the most obvious thing in the world.
“Isn't it obvious, it's because i saranghae you” He said, and your eyes widened.
“Nani??” You exclaimed, and he rolled his eyes, before scoffing again.
“No, no one can saranghae someone like you. You're a bitch because you ejaculated and evacuated” He said, as he lifted up his shirt and the sight made you gasp in shock. His daebak abs were now a big swollen belly that showed he was pregnant with your child. - 🖤 ambi
You looked at him in shock, only to notice all eight pairs of eyes staring at you. Right at the very end of the line, standing high above the rest on all four paws stood your main hoe: Kim Yeontan.
“That’s right, I’m the best bitch, bitches.” Yeontan barked, eyebrows wiggling cockily.
Your oppars all broke down, crying with joy because they wouldn’t have to deal with your koreaboo ass anymore.
“Yes, Tannie, I sarang you too! You’re my favourite ball of fluff!” You called, patting your knees.
“NO!” A voice yelled, “I’M THE BEST BITCH! I’m the bitch who raised all of deez bitches. And the dog can’t even be your favourite ball BECAUSE HE DOESN’T HAVE ANY!!” Bang PD cackled, before grabbing your wrist and whisking you out of BigHit to his secret batcave, confirming your suspicions that all along, he was really batman. -🐯apollo

Fallen Chapter 6: Showtime
previous / next
Characters: DAY6 Young K x OC (Rachel)
Genre: angst, fake dating, high school romance, fluff, romance
-----
You and Brian keep to the deal....fairly...well. You let out a deep sigh once you finish typing your comment on his latest Instagram post, one that was filled with sickeningly sweet hearts and terms of endearment. You dropped your phone on the table with a thud, burying your head in your hands as your fingers and toes curled in disgust at the ridiculous thing that you were doing. You hated having to play pretend, but this was the best plan so far.
Things were still awkward between the both of you; after all, you two were still strangers. Hence, the first part of his brilliant plan that did not involve much skinship as you both tried to ease into one another was to take proof shots of your “relationship”. Selfies together, pictures of both of you holding hands. Shots like these soon went up all over both your social media feeds, and the growing number of likes with each successive post gave both of you some reassurance that people were buying into your love story. To further convince them, Brian insisted that both of you left comments on each other’s posts which thus led you to this sorry state.
All of this might be enough for a short while, but you knew that onlookers would be disillusioned by the posts, and that soon, you would have to do more to convince people of the authenticity of your relationship.
---
Heading into the washroom to freshen up, you entered only to have three pairs of eyes focused on you, their eyes never leaving your figure until you’re behind the safety of the stall walls. You wait in bated breath for the unnecessary comments that were sure to come – and as usual, you were not surprised by what you heard.
“Rachel Hwang and Brian Kang… do you think they’re real?”
“Well… the photos on their social media are kind of cute, but I haven’t seen them in public yet so I’m not totally convinced.”
“Come on, the both of you. Their whole relationship is obviously a lie. Anyone can fake a photo; but I’ll give them credit for impressive Photoshop skills. It almost looks real. Besides… this is all happening after both of them got dumped by their exes. All too much of a coincidence, don’t you think?”
You bunch up the ends of your school skirt in frustration, knowing that the effectiveness of the initial plan has worn off. Everything was happening as you knew it would and Brian and you would have to come up with a new plan to be more convincing to the general public. Keeping up with this act will only make both of you seem silly – you needed something more.
Stepping out of the cubicle, you kept your face straight, showing that you were clearly unfazed by their comments. The conversation went hush in your presence, the three girls leaving silently after sending one last glance in your direction. Wringing your hands dry from the water, you quickly formulated a plan in your head, and you could only hope that Brian would know how to play along with you.
Exiting the washroom, you turned to head back to class, only to come face to face with Brian Kang. Or to be more exact, his chest. You instinctively took a step back due to the close proximity. Despite the time spent with one another, you were still not used to being around him. His eyes were also blown wide at the sudden encounter, a sure sign that he too, was still uncomfortable around you.
“Oh…Rachel…you’re here.”
His voice was small, and the tone was clipped.
Aish Brian Kang… what kind of reaction is this?
Glancing over his shoulder, you could see the three girls from before turning over to look at the both of you as they sniggered under their breath. Their eyes scanned you from top to bottom, seeming to laugh at your “boyfriend’s” lacklustre response towards you.
I can’t let them have the last laugh. I have to be convincing.
“Brian, let’s go have lunch together later ok? What are you craving?”
Stepping forward, you quickly laced your fingers with his. Using your interlocked fingers as leverage, you raised on your tiptoes to reach his cheek, placing a quick peck on his cheek bone. Brian eyes grow two times wider at your sudden action, his eyes looking straight at yours seeming to ask the question: What was that for?
You give his hand a light squeeze, code for: We need to be more convincing in public, play along. You smiled sweetly at the end to prove your point, desperately hoping that he’ll get the hint. You knew that Brian Kang got the hint when he smiles sweetly at you; the one where his lips pull back completely to show his teeth and his eyes turn into crescents. Bringing your intertwined hands to his lips, Brian made sure that the sound of him kissing your hand was extra loud. Another quick glance over his shoulder; and you were certain that that both of you now had the attention of the three girls from before. Their eyes kept shifting over to you, trying to be subtle but not quite working out.
Great. We got them. Let’s keep up the show Brian Kang, don’t mess up.
On cue, Brian spins you around so that the two of you are now facing the girls, hooking an arm around your shoulders around you naturally. Pulling you closer by your shoulder, he presses a long kiss to your cheek before connecting his forehead to your temple.
“Aigoo~ is my baby worrying about my meals? I eat my meals on time, and I eat anything. You know that.”
“Ok, then I’ll decide your lunch menu for you later.”
“Sure~”
As you turn the corner to head to the canteen, you hear the girls scoffing behind you – and you know that you have succeeded.
“I did well, didn’t I?”
“Well done Brian Kang, let’s keep this up. Show isn’t over.”
---
That was how you found yourself sharing a table during lunch breaks with Brian Kang and his friends from that day onwards. It was tough trying to get Esther to agree initially but having Jae there made things much easier. He’s easy to talk to, and they share common interests, which earned Jae bonus points for Jae in Esther’s handbook of friends. Today too, they’re having a heated debate on who’s a better player in League of Legends – you guess that’s just how the both of them make friends.
“Come on, I’m older. I’m definitely the better player with more experience.”
Esther snorts, one that sounds like a pig’s before retorting,
“Yea right. Being older also means you’re weaker Jae. Be careful when you play, the brittle bones in your fingers might break.”
“You did not!”
You shake my head as you turn your attention away from the both of them, you can’t stand watching the two of them argue for the next 20 minutes. Scanning the table, you quietly observe the mix of mismatched people at the table.
Jae and Esther were bickering at a corner – that’s a given. Sungjin has his eyes glued to his phone screen, observing the team’s last friendly match against the neighbouring Yongsan High School. He’s meticulously taking down notes on each member’s performance, having a list of merits, demerits and training methods for them to work on their weaker techniques. Meticulous, hardworking and dedicated Sungjin, there’s a reason why he’s the captain and you can see why. Over on the other side, Wonpil is enthusiastically explaining the rules of the basketball game to Dowoon, his hand gestures wide as his facial expression tell another story on their own. Wonpil is always so bright and ready to lend a helping hand, you’re sure Dowoon will be in good hands under his guidance. Your gaze lingers on Dowoon a little longer, observing the way the young freshmen has his head bowed in concentration, nodding along to every point that Wonpil makes. He looks up for a millisecond and catches your eye. You give him a reassuring smile, encouraging him as he tries to keep up with Wonpil’s pace. He gives you a small smile in return, the corners of his lips lifting up just slightly.
Ah sweet Dowoon – you have a soft spot for him. He’s in your Biology class, which makes him the person you see the most amongst all of them and consequently the one you’re most comfortable with as well. Sometimes you chance upon him feeding the strays that come through the broken fence on the north side of the school and you find yourself touched by his kind gestures towards those furry friends. There’s definitely something special about Dowoon… maybe you two could even become friends one day. (But you’ll have to break through his shy exterior first)
Brian is…
You didn’t have time to contemplate on Brian when you hear the unmistakable raucous laughter reach your ears. It has to be Im Jaebum – no doubt. Brian stiffens beside you, casually placing a hand on the back of your seat. He’s silently staking his claim on you, and that gives you enough affirmation that Ayeon is also in tow. They take a seat at the table right in front of yours, their eyes never leaving the two of you even after they sat down. It was a clear provocation, and Brian immediately began his counterattack.
Shifting the hand behind you to your waist, he pulls you closer to him, your thighs now touching one another’s. He dips his head again to give you a kiss on the cheek, and perhaps Jaebum’s eyes grow a shade darker.
“Play along Rachel, now’s the time to show off.”
“I don’t need to be told twice Brian Kang.”
As his lips leaves your cheek, he smiles at you, signalling the start of your little show.
“Babe, I’m still hungry!”
“You big baby, here, have my kimbap.”
You pinch his nose bridge lightly to make the act more believable, and he responds by giving you a cute nose scrunch.
“Thank you~”
Picking up two rolls at once, he slides them into his mouth easily but as he chews, he frowns.
“This doesn’t taste nice… maybe if you fed me it’ll be better.”
Your insides curl at the thought of feeding a fully-grown man food, but you hide your grimace behind a laugh. Taking the chopsticks from his hand, you took the last roll from the box and held it in front of his mouth, hoping he would quickly eat the roll so this could end. Yet, Brian Kang always seems to have other plans.
Wrapping his hand around yours, he guides your hand to place the roll inside his mouth, staring at you with love the entire while as he chewed. From your peripheral vision, you see Jaebum stabbing his food, his mouth no longer moving. He’s lost his appetite, and you bask in the glory of this small victory. You eventually want to completely crush him, but for now, ruining his day in any small manner would suffice too. Ayeon doesn’t look too good either, the colour has drained from her face.
“Indeed, it’s way better when you feed me Rachel. This tastes the best.”
“Glad you’re eating well Brian.”
You caress the side of his face, and Brian catches on immediately. Leaning forward to give you a quick peck, you meet him halfway, hoping that you taking the initiative might be the first step to ensuring that people accept your relationship to be true and most importantly, piss off Im Jaebum. Sure enough, they stand from their seats almost immediately, storming their way out of the canteen.
You’re still thrown off sometimes by Brian Kang’s bold public display of affections, but if tolerating it means that you get to see Im Jaebum all riled up, it’s worth the risk.

❀ Chapter 3: Climbing Up The Gates ❀
"Hey, buddy."
You looked up at your best friend with your eyebrows up.
"What is it?" You answer as you go back to wiping the counter.
"Do you have anything to do tomorrow?" Joohyuk asked as he crouched down to your eye-level. You glanced at him with a suspicious look.
"What are you planning?"
"I'm not planning anything! I just wanted to take you out so we can bond and relax for a while. I mean, I know you've been stressed because of your new room—"
You raised your hand in front of Joohyuk's face to prevent him from speaking further.
"Let's not widen this conversation including this angel-faced devil you're about to talk about." You said while patting your best friend's closed mouth.
"Okay, then. Is that a yes?" He happily asked as he straightened himself up. You glanced at him again.
"You're so looking at me with your puppy eyes. Why do you do this to me? Of course, I need to say yes because you're gonna cry if I don't." You rolled your eyes as you threw him the rag you were using earlier.
"Yay! I knew you couldn't resist Joohyuk's cute face."
"Tss. Gross." You smiled as you turned around and put back the mugs inside the cabinet.
"Oh! Are you both going out tomorrow?! Can I join?! Can I?! Can I?!"
You flinched at your co-worker's high-pitched voice. You turned to Tiffany with a frown.
"Unnie, did you eat sweets this afternoon again?" You asked as you see her jumping up and down like a doll who has trampoline on her feet.
"How'd you guess~" Tiffany cooed as she waves her cutely wrapped candies. You sighed as you went back to cleaning.
"So, you're going out, right?" Tiffany asked again, thankfully, she's back to normal and started pulling her apron off.
"Yep! You can come too. We'll meet here at 6pm." Joohyuk says as he put his apron on the clothing rack beside the door to the kitchen. He looks at the clock and packs his things.
"Let's get going. It's already 9, your aunt probably closed the gate already."
You looked over to Tiffany.
"Unnie, are you going to be picked up by your brother?" You asked as you put your sling bag on your shoulder.
"Yes, actually he's already waiting for me outside. See you both tomorrow!" Tiffany says as she rushed outside to the black Audi in front of your café. Your mouth hung as you watch the shining car you've been dreaming of, leave your sight.
You unconsciously walked out of the café and continued watching even if your nose scrunched up because of the smoke the car produced.
"Tsk tsk. I locked the door already, you irresponsible worker." Joohyuk said and of course, with a hit on the top of your poor head.
"D-did you see that, Hyuk?! Did you freaking see that?!"
"What? That black car you've been wanting so much?" Joohyuk said shrugging his shoulders as if it was nothing. You pointed your finger on his nose with your eyes narrowed.
"Hey! It's not just a black car!" You argued as you glare at him. He playfully tried to bite your finger but luckily, you're fast to put it away from his face. You both started walking home.
"For you it is not." Joohyuk joked as he poked your side. You jumped in surprise and looked at him. You ran away.
Yes, you did.
"Hey, come back! You running machine!" Joohyuk shouted as he chased after you with a grin. You turned to him quick and stuck your tongue out annoyingly.
Your breathing was fast. You wiped the sweat on your forehead, cheeks and neck. You looked over to your best friend who is literally lying down on the street. It's already past 10 and obviously, the gate is now closed. You'll have to climb up again to get in.
"Hey, bud. You okay there? You might get crushed there, you know." You asked as you sat down in front of your dorm's gate. Joohyuk's eyes were closed and his chest was heaving up and down.
"You made me run for the past 60 minutes, bud. You thought I can fly?" Joohyuk says in a tired voice. You laughed as you stood up and went to him.
"Come on. Your house is just a few blocks away! Go now! Go." You shooed the boy away. Joohyuk slowly stood up and looked at you.
"Aigoo. After making me run without a break, you push me away? It hurts." He said dramatically as he put his hand on his chest like he's injured. You tiptoed to reach his hair and ruffled it, like what a mother would do to her son.
"Sorry not sorry. Just go home and rest, Hyuk. Bye!" You smiled at him and walked to the gate. You bit your lip in concentration as you put your left foot on one of the horizontal railings and continued your way up.
"Fighting!" You heard Joohyuk cheer as he walks away.
You reached the top of the gate, all you need to do is to carefully make your way down. You slowly sat on top, putting one of your feet on the top railing. Putting both of your hands on the top, you turned around to completely let your feet rest on the railings.
"This is amusing."
You almost lost a grip on the railing when you heard a familiar voice. You didn't dare to turn around just to see the smirk painted on his lips.
"Yeah right. Not really glad to be an entertainment for you." You sarcastically said as you continued your way down.
"Need help?"
"No thanks." You quickly said as you jump down on the floor, feeling proud of yourself.
"Seeing how you expertly climb up and down makes me think that you can be a professional."
"Professional what?" You asked as you walked passed him.
"Professional climbing thief." He whispered to your ear as he walk behind you. You stopped suddenly, making him bump into you. You turned around, making your dark brown smooth hair slap his gorgeous face.
"Look, you jerk. Stop bothering me already, huh? Don't make me stop you myself."
"Make me." Kai stood dangerously close in front of you. You narrowed your eyes to his intense ones. You aren't backing down to this jerk.
But shit happens.
Kai just freaking licked his lips like a seducing lizard.
You turned around and walked faster upstairs. But your ears caught Kai's laughter before you can fully reach the top.
"That angel-faced devil." You mumbled as you opened your door. You locked the door and slumped yourself on your comfortable bed, letting yourself fall into your dreamland.
♫ ❧ ♫ ❧ ♫ ❧ ♫ ❧ ♫
*Knock *Knock *Knock
You groaned as a thunder of knocks pulled you out of your sweet haven.
"Argh!" You irritatedly screamed as you pulled away your blankets, that you didn't even notice you grabbed last night.
You stood up and walked to the door. You opened it and saw a grinning, erase that, smirking handsome Kai.
"This better be worth it of waking me up." You snapped at him.
"Yep. Your best friend is downstairs. I thought you need to know that." Kai said while shrugging. Your eyes closed as you nodded, feeling your head heavier.
"I'll-I'll be down in a moment."
With that, you closed the door in front of a worried-looking Kai.
You took a quick shower and changed your clothes into your comfortable ones. You put your hair into a ponytail and brushed your teeth.
When you got down, you saw Joohyuk stuffing his mouth with bacon and eggs.
"Seriously, Hyuk? How shameless can you be?" You said as you sat down beside him and ate your own breakfast. You can hear your aunt is singing in the bathroom. But fortunately, Kai is nowhere to be found.
"Sorry, bud. I can't be shameless in front of food." Joohyuk said after he drank a glass of water. Such a monster.
"Where did the idiot go?" You unconsciously asked him as you put a spoon of food in your mouth.
"Ooh. As days pass, you give nice nicknames specially for him, huh."
You looked at Joohyuk and glared at him. He chuckled as he continued eating.
"So?" You raised your eyebrows at him.
"He left after he went upstairs to tell you that I'm here. I didn't ask where he was going though." Joohyuk shrugged.
You nodded and shook everything that relates to Kai in your mind.
"Why are you here so early in the morning anyway?" You asked him as you put away the dishes. Joohyuk leaned his back on the fridge.
"Well, I was thinking that we should go to Myeongdong."
"What?" You turned to him as you wiped your hands on the towel hung on the cabinet.
"I just want to spend time with you."
You blinked.
"Uh. Yeah sure. Well, I miss spending time with my best friend too."
♫ ❧ ♫ ❧ ♫ ❧ ♫ ❧ ♫
You walked on the busy street of Myeongdong. It took you and Joohyuk almost an hour to arrive there. You smiled at the familiar sight before you.
"Let's gooo!" Joohyuk cheered as he dragged you towards the already crowded street. It's just 11 in the morning.
You both ate lunch at your favorite food truck in Myeongdong and window-shopped.
While walking you spotted an adorable white teddy bear with an orange hat, sitting on a small fluffy sofa made only for it. You touched the glass that separated you and the bear.
*Click
"Lin, you totally look like a girl who just fell in love with a bear." Joohyuk laughed as he stared at the photo he just took.
Joohyuk heard a bell ring. He looked up and saw that you weren't there at the spot he last saw you. He scratched the back of his head as he started to find you.
You opened the door and you were completely welcomed with a sweet scent.
"Wow." You were in awe as you see thousands of fluffy bears on the racks everywhere. You touched one of the bears near you and giggled like a little girl.
"So cute."
You looked up and the man before you made your eyes widen again. His hotness is so making you melt. Add the fact that he's wearing specs. He's like a student who got all brains, body and face.
"Fancy meeting you here, hamstie."

** This episode was uploaded at 12PM on Nova Entertainment’s official YouTube channel.
There’s a recapitulation of what happened on the previous episode at the very start. Hyun Bin and the coaches have their speech cut as a brief explanation of how the evaluation system works for the lockdown and what each week of this month stands for. Only the best and worst performances get a few seconds of screentime to remind people of the important details. Once the public has their memories refreshed, the theme song plays, and it’s the start of a new week.
The camera shows an image from the top of the girls living room, as it did before, and then it changes to the boys. While the images play on screen, the words on the bottom change from ‘Month 1, Week 2’ to ‘Month 1, Week 3’.
“Yongsun-ah,” Solji calls from her bed where she was sitting. “Do you have any ideas for this week?” The other woman turns in her own bed and hums. “Yes, I figured out what I would do with the coach the other day.” Yongsun stands up and starts going through a morning stretching routine. “Have you figured out yet?” Solji swallows thickly in reply and the camera goes in for a zoom for effect. “Not… really.”
The scene quickly changes to her sitting in front of a camera and the voice behind the camera asks her what she’s feeling. “What am I feeling?” Solji repeats. “I think after week 1, I felt really good. And then week 2 hit and all of that confidence sort of dissipated.” She stops for a moment to think. “I started wondering if I was really cut for this. I felt like… we must have been asked to showcase all of this to show how we’d do even when facing adversity, right? And now, now I feel a small surge of confidence come back at this point. I feel excited that the first month is coming to an end.”
She returns to the room with Yongsun with a worried face on. “I mean, I think my issue is always that I have too many options to pick from.” The other woman is quick to reply with encouraging words. “I am sure you will find something soon enough.” Yongsun smiles. “Yeah, I hope so too,” Solji simply mumbles and then scratches one of the options on her list “Okay, we’re down to ten…” This time, it’s Yongsun in the confession room.
“Dancing was honestly a nice welcome after last week,” she chuckles. “I just know my reputation after the MGAs. I was filled with a desire to show everyone that I have improved after coming to Nova. I want to prove that casting me from the MGAs wasn't a mistake that the sajangnim made. I don't know how much I have improved… but I can try to be a better dancer than I was 7 months ago.”
Bambam makes his way inside one of the rooms and finds Hyuna inside although that didn’t stop him from walking inside. “Hello~” He tells her brightly. In reply the woman questions him. “You doing better?” A few scenes are shown of BamBam practicing his chosen choreography for the week. At one point in time, Sunmi has to send him off to sleep. The captions say he had gotten a fever and was stuck in bed for a day. When he’s asked the same thing for his interview he lets people he’s gotten better. “I’m doing okay!” While on the room with Hyuna, the woman keeps an open eye towards him. “Just… don’t push yourself, okay?”
“It’s done.” She says although she’s now the one sitting. “The performance is in a few days, and I did my best to help myself understand why I’m here. Why I’m doing another survival show, and there are multiple reasons to which I can say, why I deserve this and that, but I wanna work for it. I know I will have to work for it,” Hyuna laughs, shrugging yet again as she reaches to run a hand through her hair. “So I decided to show everyone that I’ve improved in the past three years, show them that I don’t plan on slowing down. I didn’t come here to play.” She pauses, grin pulling on her lips. “I came here to win.”
The woman is shown standing in a room, a clear angle that points this is the recording of her performance. She does well with the dance; better than she did when it came to singing. Only those who watched the Royal Survival would recognize the choreography as the opening sequence. After all, there was no way Nova would air something from someone else’s show. BamBam is next with a more relaxed and confident self. It is clear that dancing is his best skill. When the song came to an end, he was covered in sweat.
Following him is Solji. The trainee who was mostly linked to her singing proved that her confidence was truly back. She was not only a good enough dancer but also had the charisma to make up for any lacking moments. Yongsun goes next attempting to keep the vocalists' reputation up. As it was before, the position is damaging, and it shows a difference when she’s after Solji and then Huidong is next. His title as one of the longest lasting trainees is easily seen when he dances. It’s interesting to watch and would easily impress the average viewer.
Once his performance is shown as completed, the scene slowly changes to Chaeyoung and Wendy while they stretch together. “Hey Wendy, are you ready for this week?” The girl asks. “Ready as I’ll ever be,” the other replies with a sigh before Chaeyoung continues.“I knew that Nova was bound to ask us to dance sometime soon. I’m kind of nervous about this because this is the second time this year that everyone will see us dancing… I don’t even know if I improved a lot since the Samsung New Year Show.” A clip shows scenes from the show mentioned, specifically the ones when the two were in the center.
“It was bound to happen, but I still worry that I’m not good enough for this,” Wendy sighs as she effortlessly lands into a split. “I’m not a strong dancer either, but I like to think I’m a better dancer than I am a rapper.” She bursts out laughing at her own comment and Chaeyoung follows suit. “I think it would be hard for anyone to do well for three weeks straight. They had to go for our weaknesses at some point. I think through this project, it allows us to be aware and accept that we are lacking in certain areas.”
Now that Chaeyoung sits in front of the camera, the girl crosses her arms. “How was this week for you in comparison to the previous ones?” The voices questions and she takes a moment to think. “I don’t know if I could think of a proper word to describe this week, to be honest,” she admits before sighing softly. “But you know how I said two weeks ago that singing was reminiscent of my younger days? Last week, rapping represented more of my present self… and dancing…” she trails off, thinking about how she could even explain what dancing was to her, “I think it symbolizes my future?” Chaeyoung appears confused by her own analogy, a question mark appearing on top of her head.
“it symbolizes my future because many people know that Nova is famous for their synchronized dancing and their talented dancers. but to me, it means more than that. i joined nova with barely any dance experience.” she lowers her head momentarily before looking back up. “When I came to Nova, I felt as if I experienced a culture shock. ‘How could I even be as good as some of these trainees who have been dancing for so long?’ that was the thought that I had for a while. Coincidentally, i felt as if things came to a full circle in a way. As for my performance, I wanted to do something that encapsulated all of that. I want to show a snippet of my journey. I want people to see this performance and go, ‘Of course chaeyoung would do this. It’s so her.’ But out of all of that, I want to inspire people and remind them that if you keep working on something you are not good at, you will be rewarded for it. It may take time, but once it pays off, it’ll be worth it!” She ends her speech with a beaming smile on her face.
“When I entered Nova, I wasn’t exactly a skilled dancer,” this time, it was Wendy speaking. “But I like to think I learned a lot in my almost three years as a Nova trainee to not be a disgrace to the company.” She chuckles at her own lame attempt at lightening the mood. “But honestly, I’m terrified. The fear of not being good enough after a long time is beginning to get to me,” she admits. “I always wondered whether this was because I was never good enough, as well as it not being my time yet. The latter is an acceptable reason I have no control over… But the former is what will make me be unable to forgive myself.”
As if Nova was actually known for their lack of dancers, Hugo is the next one to confess about his fears. “This week is rough on me. Dancing isn’t my strong suit, so I have to work harder to meet the standards of Nova.” He twinges as a sore spot begins to ache some more. “How am I in Nova, again?” He begins to laugh, shaking his head. “Aigoo. I hope the others do well. We have talented dancers among our ranks. Huidong hyung especially is an amazing dancer.”
To change a bit of the scales, Kaeun appears next. “Dancing had always been an interest, a hobby for me. But dancing in Nova is, how should I phrase it? Hmm, on a whole different level? There’s so many great dancers here, that just knowing how to dance wouldn’t cut it. It’s like you can’t just be ‘good’, you have to go even more to be ‘great’, and then, ‘amazing’. Compared to them, I’m still here.” The trainee lowered her hand to indicate herself at ground level, compared to the others at the top. The smile faltered slightly at her self-diss. “But I’m doing all I can in the last week. It’s tiring but somewhat fulfilling. Right, seongsangnim? Heh~” Her bright energy brings up the mood from all the other less confident contestants.
“What do you think, being 3 weeks here?” The voice asks. “Like ‘Woah, being a trainee is really not easy’. It’s odd because I’ve been a trainee for over a year, but somehow when you’re all living together, and watching each other grow and develop and become a better performer, it sorts of raise these little expectations. Like, a little competitiveness too. ‘I don’t want to struggle so far behind them, so I have to practice more’, I have that kind of thoughts lately. I want to become a better performer.”
So she’s the first of the second batch to start her performance. It is clear that she is not the best dancer, but the choice of a simpler choreography makes it easier for her not to mess up. The one next is Chaeyoung who goes with something more than simply dancing. It’s a musical piece, and the girl gets to show off a few her acting skills before the dancing starts, as well as while she dances. When Wendy comes along, it feels like a good scale of performances. The girls battle around the same level of skill and any average viewer would probably pick their favorite out of preference.
Keeping up with their shared mindset, Hugo follows the girls and does about as good of a job as they could have done. They’re all somewhere along with average in terms of skill, although obviously better than someone who never dances. But someone enters in contrast to them. Hosung advertises himself as much of a singer does better than some. If anyone was representing the vocalists it was highly likely that it was him, but their reputation was never supposed to go up.
Sunmi walks into a studio and takes a seat beside Haknyeon. There’s a frown on her face, but she pets his head. “Hey. How’re you holding up? Feeling homesick?” Looking up, he smiles almost instantly. “Noona,” he greets. “A little,” he replies. “A lot more than I expected actually. How about you, noona? Are things alright?” The woman stops brushing his hair and gives a smile back. “Hey, I’m the noona here. I’m supposed to be checking up on you, not the other way around,” she playfully scolds then shakes her head. “I’m used to it, in a way. I think it’s the inability to contact anyone that really gets to me. But it’s what needs to be done, you know? If this is a chance to debut then I need to take it.”
Her position then changes, but instead of being seated, Sunmi is helping someone else. “You know what this means, right?” She says, narrowing her eyes at Jungwoo. “This means I have to be critical I’m not trying to be mean spirited. I have to criticize you so you’re more way of how you present yourself in choreographies, okay?” The boy swallows nervously. “I know. I’m… a slow learner. I don’t think I can do this week alone. I want you to help me. If I want to be the best, I have to learn from the best.”
The woman sighs. “You know they’re not expecting perfection, right? As long as you’re moving on count, you show some competence.” But Jungwoo doesn’t seem to agree. “It’s Nova Entertainment. Are you sure they’re not expecting perfection?” He’s the one sitting. A camera is pointed at his face. “At least it’s not rapping anymore,” he jokes. “I almost know what I’m doing when it comes to dance.”
It doesn’t look like it, though. Haknyeon uses the mirror while he observes Jungwoo go through his dance routine. When he messes up, the younger immediately frowns. “Again,” he says, pausing the song and replaying it from the start. “Again,” Haknyeon says again, replaying the part. Jungwoo tries to apologize with a soft “sorry,” but it doesn’t seem enough for the other. “Your arms, arms, arms,” he lets out a heavy sigh. “Are you even listening to me, hyung? Your arms aren’t angled right and you’re a beat too fast. Is this a joke to you?” Haknyeon runs a hand through his hair and sternly looks at the older boy.
“I’m doing my best!” Jungwoo shoots back, his lips curling down. “It’s easy for you, but it’s not for me! I’m trying, Haknyeon!” Almost immediately, Haknyeon pauses the music. “This is your best?” He snaps, furrowing his brows. “Hyung, you’ve been training for how long and you say that this is the best you can do? Don’t joke with me. Then try harder, hyung. You can do better, stop making excuses and start getting the moves right.” He looks at Jungwoo, clearly running out of patience.
When the youngest contestant sits by the camera he appears calm as he used in every other of his appearances. “You look tired,” the voice says. “I am,” he replies. “It’s been three weeks without seeing my family.” Maybe he’s not as bright as before. “Did any of the seniors go to you for help?” Haknyeon only thinks about it for a moment. “Jungwoo hyung did. Yeah, he did.” And the boy needs another moment of silence before continuing. “I think I was too strict to him. Or maybe I was too mean. I’ve never raised my voice at him like that before and I said some things I wish I could take back,” he bites his bottom lip, regret sinking deep into his chest. “I want him to do well. I think he knew that too. But the way I went about it… wasn’t nice. Jungwoo hyung is someone I’d consider my best friend.”
When Meiqi points at a camera playfully, there isn’t a silly song playing in the back. “You… are you challenging me to a dance battle?” The girl pretends to beatbox as she mimics some b-boying moves although with half the energy that’s expected of one. The scene changes to show her in her interview. “This week was much better than the last one,” Meiqi admits. A clip of her performance shows when she just started to forget her lyrics and then when she runs away after she’s done.
As a parallel, Meiqi tries to escape the interview, but the voice throws her another question. “How are you feeling about your performance last week?” She squeezes her eyes shut, sighs, and deflates in her seat. “Don’t you already know? Why are you asking me… Ah, I might just cry again.” The room is silent. Instead of continuing, she gets up and bows politely. “I should return to practicing. Thank you.” The stakes are raised for everyone, and especially to those who haven’t been doing so well.
Meqi is the one who starts the last batch of trainees for the week. She’s a talented dancer, an adjective that hadn’t been used with her on the last few weeks. However, after two lost battles it’s hard to not keep that in mind. Haknyeon follows her. The only thing that bothered him was being far from home and he appears to the talent to stay. But would this be enough? It was harder when there were better dancers. Ricky has the talent of years on his back and that evaluation was there to prove it.
The second to last is Sunmi, a well-known carrier of the Nova brand. She has what they ask of her. She’s a great dancer and delivers an impressive performance that pulls away from the typical hip hop style and delves closer to contemporary. It’s hard to be last, and even harder to go after such good dancers, but it’s the spot given to Jungwoo. He’s clearly lacking when compared to them; when compared to a few of the best of the best of them. It’s a blow to chin of however spent the week shown they were struggling.
And the week doesn’t end at that, as it normally would. Up until then, the mission for the final week of the month hadn’t been revealed. The trainees are all gathered in a practice room to share what challenges they’ll have to face next. Their three coaches are the ones to deliver the news. For the fourth week, boys and girls will be separated by gender to prepare a full group performance to show in front of not only the coaches but also their CEO, Hyun Bin.
Once the news is delivered, the camera shows an image from the top of the boys living room, and then it changes to the girls. While the images play on screen, the words on the bottom change from ‘Month 1, Week 3’ to ‘Month 1, Week 4’.
“Month one is nearly done!” Hyuna exclaims from her seat. She looks excited and it’s a good start for the week. It barely lasts a moment. “For the last week, however… people didn’t seem happy with the song choice. I’m not sure if it was because I’m new? Or because it was the song that I suggested won, but there were faces made.” The screen shows the girls together working hard on choosing a song for their performance. Solji and Yongsun work on distributing the lines together before the latter announces it to the rest of the group. “I tried basing this on what I know from everyone- It might not be perfect though, so if anyone has any changes that they want to make please don’t hesitate to tell me.”
The camera clearly shows some people not enjoying the outcome too much, but it quietly changes back to Hyuna’s interview. “It could have been the fact that the line distribution wasn’t okay? But even when I didn’t take the invitation to join in, there is still that… that lingering feeling, you know? People… not being happy.” The one next on the screen is Wendy with only a sentence to her appearance. “It’s…” a pause. “Great to be working with them all again.”
Solji approaches Wendy in the shared space area for the girls’ dorm with a happy aura. “Hey! How are thing going?” The younger looks up from her lyric sheet before replying. “Hey unnie,” she says a small smile on her face. “I’ve been doing as well as I can. How about you?” Wendy sighs as she looks around them. After staring at a camera, she asks the other to join her. “Come here. Sit with me~” And Solji does so.
“I’m doing well. Are you going over the words for the final performance?” she asked. “No, I’m trying to figure out how to do the splits while staring at the paper,” Wendy replies without much thought. It takes a moment of silence between before she starts laughing at her own comment. “I was just kidding, of course. I was memorizing my lines!” And so the camera leaves them.“This week you boys had to work together, how was it?”
The awkward scene changes to Hosung as he takes a new question during his interview. “Hui-hyung and Ricky really helped with learning the choreography and I’m very thankful. They’re quite… scary when training. Their eyes like lasers and I swear they have eyes on the back of their heads that see everything.” Followed by him is Hugo, who also seems to be very worried. “There is a lot of stress and tension in the air because Hyun Bin sajangnim will be evaluating us for the first time, and someone could be eliminated. That is a stressful thing to think about, so everyone is worried and practicing really hard.” He nods. “I really want to debut with Hosung. We’ve become close since he was signed to Nova. I can’t imagine not having that if I debut.”
The screen shows Hugo while he stands inside his bedroom. Hosung leisurely walks inside the room, except all he had on him, was a towel wrapped around his waist. The editors' team is quick to add his own face to cover his torso. “Whoa… you look so good!” Hugo comments. “Your body is amazing!” The boy walks close and waves a hand over the other’s boy without actually touching it. “So manly~” The cameras focus on his face for a moment before the realization hits him. “The cameras!” Immediately, he uses his own body to block Hosung from view. “No! Go away! Look somewhere else! Not my Hosungie!” The boy tries to hide as best as possible, although it is a bit of a hard job.
Leaving all the worries behind, Chaeyoung approaches one of the cameras, waving at the device. “Good morning, cami-nim! I hope you have a great day today and if not, there is always tomorrow! Tomorrow means a new start… and also a day closer towards the performance.” She laughs. “I hope you don’t mind being my audience.” The girl starts singing and dancing a snippet of the song before stopping. “Dancing… that’s always something that needs to be worked on.”
Once the show is done, Kaeun appears in her interview. “I… have been thinking a lot lately. Last time I said I wanted to become a better performer. But come to think of it, I don’t really know what kind of performer I want to be in the first place.” She purses her lips slightly. “It’s tough. All I want to do is music. But coming to Nova is where I really get to see the different aspects of performing. Some I liked a bit more than others. A person’s voice can create music. Dancing, can be part of music creation. There’s music in many places, I feel like I can see that. So why limit myself, right? Of course, I don’t excel in all of them. But I want to explore more things. Everything that I can, actually. It’s my ambition.”
“It’s been fun,” Meiqi says this time in her own interview. “It feels like we’re a girl group already. I think we have good teamwork but we’re still a little awkward? I think… well, I really think that we didn’t pick the proper song for this evaluation. It’s good enough, but we should have gone bigger.” Once she’s done, Yongsun is the one who appears next. “I wish that people didn’t keep their opinion to themselves especially when we are doing something as a group.” She nods to herself. “When it came to line distribution I really appreciated Meiqi-ssi when she told me she wasn’t satisfied with her part.”
Sunmi appears next. “Everyone had so many ideas that we just decided to write down every idea and then vote,” she shared. The voice asks her if the song she wanted was chosen. She shakes her head. “I actually liked Wendy’s suggestion the best from the get-go. A song that she and Meiqi made together. I thought that would have been a contender and very impressive. It would be a strong way to start out. It’s month one. You don’t want to start off badly.” So the voice asks her if she disliked the song that was chosen. Sunmi sighs.
“I don’t hate it. I don’t dislike the song itself. However, I don’t think it was the strongest song we could have chosen of our choices. We wanted a song that shows off everyone’s talents. The song does have that, technically, but I think the song is wasted for having a dance break. To me, I feel like it’s mostly an average song. I don’t think this song choice was the smartest.” Sunmi frowns. “My issue is the way the lines were initially distributed. When looking over the line distribution, I made a face.” And the woman made sure to create it, the editing team putting it side to side with the original. “I didn’t do the lines because I didn’t want the song nor did I support it but when you look at the lines for the first time we shared it, it’s clear that the draft was made with one or two people in mind to get all of the lines. It was clearly favored.”
The girls don’t appear to be the only one in trouble town. Just as the previous week had gone, Jungwoo struggles to learn the dance. Whenever he gets it wrong, the camera cuts to Ricky huffing in annoyance. Eventually, it follows him as he tries to hide in the corner of a room. Seeing what is happening, Huidong goes after Ricky. “What’s up?” He asks quietly. “I just-” The boy starts then stops. Instead, he sighs again and puffs his cheeks briefly before a hand comes up to push his swear-matted hair out of his eyes. “I know he’s better than me - a better singer - but it’s been hours, and it’s so frustrating. I know he’s trying, I know he’s improving, I just wish he’d stop apologizing.” The scene breaks only to show cuts of Jungwoo and every other time he stopped to apologize
“I think this week’s task is probably the most challenging so far,” Huidong says. “We’re kind of stuck together 24/7. But, y’know, there is a reason why I gave both you and Jungwoo the first chorus. I wanted you to work together, and make the start of the song really pop. But, Jungwoo isn’t a strong dancer. I think everyone in the team knows that.” He pauses and places a firm but affectionate hand on Ricky’s shoulder. “He could just be left to try to get the choreography on his own. He probably will put in the extra hours. But if he makes a mistake at the end of the week, we’ll all look bad. He’s got responsibilities to get it right, but we’ve got responsibilities to help him. “Huidong glaces over his shoulder at the others. “You’re the best on the team to be able to help him, Ricky. But it’s up t you.”
Now, Huidong sits down for his interview. “So? How has your week been so far?” They ask him. “Stressful.” He replies and leans back in his chair, letting out a loud ‘aaaah’. Despite his words, there’s a somewhat happy aura around him. “The boys have been practicing very hard for the performance at the end of the week. I’m proud of how much effort some of them are getting into all of this.” BamBam is next on the screen. “You said you would push us and I definitely feel pushed.” There was a laugh, a nervous one. “I think I’m finally getting used to the cameras. It’s hard to not be very aware of them.”
“It’s not an individual performance this time and I don’t want to pull down the group,” Haknyeon begins. “I’ve been thinking about that a lot. About how I want to do well, not just for myself but for the other hyungs as well. I know how important this whole survival is to them,” he says. “It’s nice to work with them. I like our dynamic.”
The boys’ song plays from inside a practice room. The person inside is none other than Jungwoo. He does the same movements over and over again to get them right. The boy stops for a moment and reaches over for a sip of his water. It’s that same moment when someone opens the door. Standing by the frame is none other than Ricky. Their expressions are awkward, and neither knows exactly what to say.
“I’m…” They both say it at the same time, silence taking over again once they need to stop and think. “Practicing.” Ricky finishes Jungwoo’s sentence for him. His hand still holds onto the door handle as if waiting for permission to walk in. “Do you… want help?” Jungwoo hesitates, just for a moment. He looks at the other carefully, studying him to find some trace of acrimony or spite. “Yeah,” he says finally after just enough silence has passed that the awkwardness never had a chance to fade away, “I need it. I don’t want to let everyone down.” The boy swallows. He instead turns back to the sound system, fiddling with something as if getting ready to run through the song again. “We only had a week to do everything. It’s hard.” His voice is low, though not so much so that he’d be inaudible to the other trainee or the cameras.
Ricky finally lets go of the handle, his legs carrying him inside the room completely, at a slow, reasonable pace. The door clicked behind him softly. “You’re not gonna let everyone down,” he responded somewhat firmly, somewhat arbitrary. “Hyung wouldn’t have given you the part if he didn’t think you deserved it. You just have to do your best. And then do even better than that. You can’t stop until you do that.”
Then the scene changes. Ricky sits on his chair quietly. “I’m really nervous. I worked really hard. Everyone did. But… I’ve been working hard even before SuperNova and I’m scared that maybe it’s not… I’m worried that maybe it’s not…” a pause. “Maybe it’s not good enough.” He looked down. The boy composes himself for a beat and looks back up with a sniff. “I’ve trained for so long, I think if… I know I’m still lacking but- ah, excuse me. I’m sorry.” He pauses there and ducks his head away from the camera to hide his tears. A sad song plays in the back. “The eliminations will be hard, I think.” He managed after several moments of an attempt to compose himself entirely, tears mostly missing when he looked up, but cheeks still tinted a shade of pink. “For everyone.”
Jungwoo appears again, this time it is his own turn on the chair. “This week has been the hardest one yet,” he speaks softly, though there’s no hesitation to his words now. “Not because of the other guy, they’re great, but I have to be better than ever so I don’t pull them down.” And then, ll at once, he crumbles. The tears come silently while Jungwoo is trying to catch his breath. Once they start flowing they can’t stop. “Sorry,” he chokes out, vice rough from holding in a sob. “I’m fine, I’m just tired.”
The screen blackens slowly and then shows the face of each contestant one by one before letting the camera follow the CEO, Hyun Bin, as he makes his way towards his own chair to observe what the trainees had to show. The girls appear first. Their chosen song went with the girl crush route which was what they had all agreed on but still lead to a lot of unsatisfied contestants. They had the strong vocalist, the strong dancers, and the strong rappers. Still, the performance still lacked from what they could see. The energy wasn’t as much there as it should be. When it’s the boy’s turn to perform, the energy is different. They all appeared to be much more excited; much more like they were enjoying their own stage. And it wasn’t like they were lacking in each of the departments either.
Once they’re done, the trainees form a line with girls on one side and the boys on the other. Hyun Bin clears his throat before he starts speaking.
“I wasn’t present for the previous weeks, but I did watch each of your performances. I got here with expectations both good to some and bad to others. I can confirm to you that some of these proved correct.” His gaze is strong and persistent as the man makes sure to give each trainee a proper intimidating stare. “We said to you before that not every month would necessarily have an elimination and, well, I have some announcements to make on this one.”
“Before anything, if the group performances were meant to compare the two groups, then one completely destroyed the other. The boys choice was a much better fit for their member composition and not only was it interesting to watch, but it looked like they enjoyed performing it as well. I really can’t say the same for the girls, and if you weren’t enjoying your own performance image me having to sit here and watch you do that. You should be thankful the group performance won’t be everything for this.”
The man moves the paper in front of him a bit closer so he can remind himself of what he had written during his short meeting. Maybe it was a tough thing for some to make, but Hyun Bin didn’t look like he had a drop of worry on his expression as he started pointing out all the things he’d noticed.
“Firstly, Kang Yuchan, our Ricky. You’re the one who’s been training under Nova for the longest time between the trainees here. This means we had a high level of expectations when it came to you. I’m confident when I say you were one of the ones I had good expectations for, and also one who managed to reach those. You’ve always been a strong dancer, and I was happy to see your growth when it comes to singing, and also your versatility with rapping. You manage to stand out in the group performance as well as make your solo performances memorable. For these reasons, I’d like for you to take one step forward.”
The previous long line formed by the trainees is broken, Yuchan taking the starting lead. While no one exactly explains what stepping forward means, some may not need explanations to understand.
“Son Seungwan joined Nova thanks to Ricky some years ago. Even during the MGAs, you managed to impress the public with your vocal skills. You only grew from that with the help of Nova and you should be very proud of that. The one thing I was scared of was your dancing performance. You’re still far from being an amazing dancer and I believe that isn’t exactly your current goal. You still managed to hold your ground but you still disappear a bit in a group performance. Maybe your new goal should be to actually stand out in a non-vocal performance. Even so, I’d like for you to step forward as well.”
Soon, two people take the front row: one boy and one girl. What the final results may be no one is really sure of. Hyun Bin seems to be very persistent in letting people know, though.
“Kim Hyuna also took part in the third season of the MGAs, but you’ve spent the least amount of time as a Nova trainee between the people we have here. That doesn’t mean you held back on showing your skills, though. You’re a talented rapper, which is something the public already knew, but you also managed to sing well, which is something not every rapper here managed to do. Your dance skills still need some help, but it’s nothing that Nova hasn’t managed to fix before. I’d like for you to take a step forward as well.”
Only three people down and things were going awfully well. The man twists his head a little, predicting the end of fun rather soon. “Son Chaeyoung, on the other hand, spent her time silently as a Nova trainee, didn’t you? You didn’t go to the MGAs or anything like that and was only revealed as a trainee recently — but maybe your time spent in hidden were good for you. With the first week as singing, we were impressed by your abilities since you’re mainly a rapper. This means at the rapping week you also gave a good performance. Your dancing, of course, could use some bettering, but it’s something you and Hyuna can work on. So, please, take a step forward.”
After enough time dedicated to the girls, Hyun Bin goes back to the boys who this far only have Yuchan to represent them. “Our Ha Huidong has been here for quite a while, too, haven’t you? You continue to be one of the best dancers in this line-up, even after nearly four years as a trainee and with much younger boys standing beside you. Some of the other boys are clearly better singers than you are, but you manage to hold onto your role. We don’t need you all to be perfect singers. I was, still, very much surprised at your complete lack of a rapping ability. There was no need for us to have another rapper, but knowing the basics of at least ‘fast singing’, as some say, can be very useful on your belt. However, you may take a step forward. Your presence in the group performance is still very prominent, and your skillset is one useful to us.”
The man doesn’t take too much of a break between speeches, moving his gaze to another man still in line. “For example, BamBam is yet another dancer we have here at Nova. He can rap, as well, and even manages to hold a note if he’d like. Still, he’s not our best dancer or our best rapper, and during the group performance, it feels like you disappear when it isn’t your turn as the center. You’ve been here for over three years now, so I was expecting a bit more from you. Charisma is an essence of being a dancer, and also a requirement to any rapper. To be both of those things with charisma as the thing you’re lacking is something extremely damaging to you as a performer. Due to this, I’d like for you to stay where you are for now so we can get back to you later.”
The air instantly gets heavier. He is the first asked not to move, but no further explanation is given. The future of BamBam is as unsure as who’ll be the next trainee to stay in line. “Kim Jungwoo is very charismatic, isn’t he? Your charm has already brought me problems before, as I’m sure you remember. Dealing with your so-called fans in the past was already very troublesome, but you returned to Nova as a trainee once again. What’s important is that it isn’t the only skill you have under your belt anymore. Your vocal skills have gotten better and you’ve managed to become what we can call a dancer now. I know you’ve struggled with the dancing this month, but you managed to deliver good performance under the week given. If rapping badly was a sin you’d meet Huidong in hell, though. Working on your basics of every skill is an important thing to do. Even so, I’d like for you to take a step forward as well.”
The coaches remain quiet on their seat respective seat, waiting for the results to be told as the trainees were. The only difference was they already knew the results. “Someone I wasn’t expecting to impress me was Heo Solji. I heard you were a good singer, but you surprised in many different ways. Ends up you’re a bit of a dancer, which is something I did not know. You took part in the dance break for the group performance and, not only that, but you have a strong aura around you. Even next to better-skilled dancers you still managed to stand out. Your rap was definitely lacking, but you’ll still take a step forward today.”
While the lack of information is frustrating, it is clear more than one person won’t take the step. The important is to not stay behind rather than taking a step forward. “As far as vocal-focused we have here, there’s also Kim Yongsun. Even if you’re a relatively new trainee, you have very stable vocals, but compared to the other female singers it still feels a bit lacking. They’ve had more time than you to practice, but that’s a good excuse to make you sleep at night. If Wendy is better prepared and Seolji not only sounds good but can dance better and steal the attention from you, then why would we choose to keep you instead? I’d like for you to stay where you are for now.”
And so the first girl stays behind, leaving people wondering if anyone else would follow the same faith. “Lee Kaeun, much like Chaeyoung, spend a long time as a private trainee. The difference, I think, is that while Chaeyoung worked on perfecting each skill, you decided to be mediocre on each of them. You’re very eye-catching so only giving you a few lines was beneficial to the group performance so you wouldn’t mess up and ruin it. I don’t know if you want to dance, or if you’d like to rap, but your singing won’t do the way it is now. Please stay where you are.”
With now two girls down, the focus returns to the remaining boys. “Kim Hosung was someone I brought to help with the vocals of the group which, as you may have noticed, are overall very lacking. You’re very stable, and you have a good voice, but you lack a lot of technique. Saying you haven’t been a trainee for enough time is a lie. You could have very well grown as a singer during the time you were here, but you didn’t. You’re a good dancer, at least, which Jungwoo lacks in comparison, but I think what you lack is experience. I’d like for you to stay where you are for now.”
The number of trainees left are only four, not much left for Hyun Bin to do. “There are two boys and two girls left to assigned their position to. As you may have noticed, where you stand shows how good you did. Only one more girl and one more boy will take a step today.” He takes a break so the silence may take over. These are the best moments for the cameras to catch reactions.
“Meng Meiqi and Lee Sunmi are both two of our best female dancers. Sunmi has been here for a long time which meant we had high expectations of which you didn’t exactly reach. As a dancer, you did great, but your vocal performance was very lacking as well as your rap. It was very surprising to see you do this badly. Meiqi is not as good of a dancer but did her part as well, as expected from the one in charge of our Hip Hop stage for the new year show. However, you’re also a worst singer and an even worst rapper. You couldn’t even remember the lyrics to your rap song which was highly upsetting. Knowing the lyrics is the most basic need for any performance and you couldn’t even do that. I’d like for you to stay where you are, and for Sunmi to take a step forward.”
Just like that, all the female trainees had their position assigned, leaving only the boys left.
“As for Kim Jongin and Joo Haknyeon, two rappers, each of you had your own skill that was lacking. I didn’t exactly plan on coming here with high expectations for you, Haknyeon, but I knew the public would have them for you so I tried finding the positives in your performances. You’re a solid rapper and dancer, but your vocals are just terrible. All the other rappers managed to sing, including BamBam who didn’t move today. If you’d like to make it anywhere you’ll have to practice for it. Jongin is the better rapper as far as we could see it this month, but you’re only average for the other skills. You really need to work on your dancing, which is what Nova prides ourselves in. I’ll have to tell Jongin to take a step forward today and I’ll leave Haknyeon behind.”
In total, three boys and three girls stayed behind the new line. There’s a sudden silence in the room and Hyun Bin takes his time to observe his trainees before allowing them a proper explanation. “I said that eliminations were always possible, but none will be done today. However, I’d like for all of you to check your surroundings and where you stand right now. The one standing beside you will be your new group mates for the month.”
The CEO sits up and takes some time doing so as a way to allow the trainees to actually look around. “The ones on the front are now on the SAFE zone. This means you were the ones who did their best at this month’s mission. There are five girls and four boys which means two different groups separated by gender. Every month, I’ll rank one from each the MVP of the month, which means the one who did the best.”
He runs his finger through the table in front of him while observing the paper containing every detail needed for the day. “The female MVP of the first month is… Son Chaeyoung. You showed great skill in every area we asked of you, as well as potential to grow.” The coaches beside him clap their hands as it was rehearsed privately earlier that same day. The other trainees are free to clap along if they felt like it.
Once the silence is restored, Hyun Bin proceeds with his announcements. “The male MVP of the first month is… Kang Yuchan. You showed that you’re not only a good dancer, but that you are flexible to fit in any role you’re given. Keep working on them.” The coaches clap again, this time being less surprising.
However, the good times never seemed to last too long. “The ones standing behind the line are on the DANGER zone. These are the ones closer to elimination. Today, there are three girls and three boys, which means two different groups separated by gender. If you stay in the DANGER zone for two months, you’ll be eliminated. Since this show will run for a total of three months, any of the trainees, in the DANGER zone today or not, hold the possibility of being eliminated until the final episode.”
EPISODE FOUR TEASER: The news come from Yonghwa: “The theme for this week is time travel.” There are shots of the trainees working together but no explanation on their formations. Viewers can catch some of the trainees wearing colored vests. “The ‘90s, the ‘00s, and the ‘10s” a voice echoes somewhere. It’ll be a brand new month, and a brand new challenge.
**Note: None of the performances were shown fully, but separate videos will be posted IC on Nova’s official YouTube channel during the week of each trainee’s full performance.

AirDrop that Smile

Genre: Idol x fan au
Character: NCT Jaehyun/ Reader
Warnings: None
Summary: After frustating over your seat for NCT Dream’s concert, you had an unexpected encounter with 127 members, especially Jaehyun.
You closed your eyes as you crossed your fingers after tons of hard work buying that lower box ticket online. You weren’t able to attend NCT 127’s concert last time so Dreams’ concert is a must, you were really determined to get a nice spot to film a fan cam of their performance. Ping! your body shivered hearing that sound. You slightly opened your eyes, slowly, slowly, …
Only to see that the tickets are sold out.
“Dang it!” you banged your head against your keyboard out of frustration until you heard another Ping
“Oh right” you remember that you booked another ticket for the Upper box section. You sat up straight and opened the other tab on your computer, luckily you got the ticket. Though you still feel down for not getting the lower box one.
You stretched your arms and hopped out of your comfy chair, “I need to get some rest” you thought. After some few stretches you threw your body on the bed beside you. Such a nice time to take a nap before you set-up your cameras, power banks and extra memory card for the concert.
Just as you closed your eyes, you heard a loud bang from the door, your sister barging in.
“Hey, y/n did you get my ticket?” asked your sister as she was intensely shaking you.
“Uhh, nope? Why would I. It’s already hard enough to get one for my own” you replied
“What?! Didn’t I ask you to get that upper box ticket for me?!”
“Ohhh… I thought you told me that so I can have a spot if ever I won’t get the lower box”
“Useless!” your sister kicked you as hard as she could out of her frustration
“W-wait stop stop! I’ll give you 127’s fanmeeting in return!” you had no choice but to utter this none sense
“You better keep that” then she was gone. Geez
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The day of the concert
“All right, all set” you thought as you settled down on your seat beside the aisle. You checked your phone and realized your AirDrop is not on. Fuck, what if Dreamies have AirDropped some photos already?! You quickly turned it on and waited.
As you were waiting for the photos and the concert itself, you realized that your section is empty. Why though? Usually, it will be so packed up and noisy. Just then a guy came then asked “Are you sure this is your seat?”
You were startled and replied “Huh? Uhh, yeah”
“Where’s your ticket?” the guy replied back, you could feel your blood rising with the thought that maybe he’d ask you to go
“Hyung cut it out, it’s fine there’s still a lot of seats for us. Plus, she’s one of our cizenies, we should be thankful” just then a manly voice spoke behind the man. You realized it was Jaehyun, he smiled so brightly that all your frustrations was washed away
Is this a dream?!?!
127’s members settled on their seats on your section and gave you fresh smiles and waves but the guy who talked to you sat beside you that became a barrier from you and the members. Luckily, Jaehyun sat beside him, that makes it one person apart. Jaehyun is one of your ultimate bias and it feels so dreamy thinking how close he is, you could literally hear your heart pound faster and faster every second.
As the concert went on, of course with your full effort you get the best shots and videos of Dreamies and you’ve noticed how much their hyungs enjoyed the performances. After some time Johnny went up and left, you saw him reach the exit then he was gone. “Where is he going?” the guy beside you whom you assume to be their manager asked. The members just lift their shoulders.
Like on cue, the manager took his phone and realized someone’s calling him. “Johnny? What?! Where?!” he stood up and made his way to the exit.
You saw the member’s giggling as if it was part of their plan, especially Jaehyun the way his dimples popped between those giggles gave you sparks across your spines up to your cheeks. Didn’t realize you were giggling with them.
You felt your phone vibrated and checked it after you have calmed yourself down. It was an AirDrop photo, from AirDropTheBeat. It was him widely smiling and you saw yourself barely seen at the back. You were shocked and looked at him with confusion. Jaehyun sat beside you, giving you that teasing smile “You looked cute their when you were laughing with us”
“B-but I can barely be seen” you tried your best to keep your cool, despite the nervousness of being beside your ultimate bias.
“Want me to snap a photo again?” he teased again, giving you that good and exciting feels
“Is that allowed?” you went along with him
“Of course not.” then you both laughed, his crescent eyes and popping dimple… really, you couldn’t ask for more.
“I better go, sorry for taking a photo without your permission.” then he waved and attempted to stand up.
“O-oppa! C-can we take a photo? Just for memories” lol that was awkward but it was your only chance
“Aigoo,” he replied then sat again and slightly leaned to your direction, you could smell his scent and it was the most wonderful scent causing your heart to pound more and more.
“Here I go” he said as he took the photo with his phone.
“Th-thank you o-oppa”
“No problem” he smiled “I’ll send it to you, later” he added and went back to his seat. Stared at his phone then smiled again.
“What was that?” Taeyoung asked him
“Oh, nothing. I accidentally snapped a photo with a cizinie without her permission so I apologized” he replied
“Oh really?” then they both bowed as a sign of apologizing.
It was so cute, you didn’t know how much well-mannered they are than you thought. Your heart was still pounding hard as you and Jaehyun kept on giving quick glances and shy smiles.
After the concert, you were so happy with the memories you made with the Dreamies and of course the experience you had with Jaehyun. Then you realized while walking towards your car, how would Jaehyun send you the pic? Nvm you thought then you reached out for your keys and opened your car. Just then you felt a vibration against your thighs, you took your phone unlocked it.
“AirDropTheBeat” would like to share a photo, popped into your screen. Your eyes widened as you saw your photo with Jaehyun on your screen. You looked around, maybe he was close then a loud horn from the car across you caught your attention. There he was. Slightly sticking out his head and waved his hand. The other members were also there, calling you out and asking you to come. You took some a couple of goofy pictures with them before you made your way into your car. You had to look back one last time, then you saw them getting in their car, one by one, chattering and… there was Jaehyun, stopped for a moment before getting in. He looked at you as if he knew you would be staring at them. Gave you the sweetest smile and mouthed “Go home straight” with a slight giggle, then he went in. You felt your face burn and heart melt. You made your way in your car too, couldn’t take the smile from your face and for a moment you looked at the photos you had with them… with him. It was definitely a day to remember.

Love Yourself (Bangtan and EXO fanfiction/SehunxOC)
Chapter 18
After having practiced with Jungkook, I found myself pacing though Bangtan's cottage, tapping my phone against my palm in paranoia and chewing on my lower lip. I had to find some way to tell this person off, whoever she may be. All I knew was that she was obsessed with Jungkook.
What would Halmeoni do right now? What would she tell me?
"Oh, Ha-Neul!" I heard Namjoon's voice coming from behind me, and as always, he spoke English with me. It was our way of communicating, and if we ever needed to discuss something open ears and prying eyes didn't need to hear or see, we would resort to just that. "Finished practice already? Jungkook told me you're learning how to rap."
"Oppa," I faced him, putting on my best smile. "Y-Yeah.., we finished practicing. What about you and Yoongi oppa?"
"Pretty much got it down," he hummed in contemplation, eyes narrow for a moment. "Are you sure you're okay? You don't look so good."
I didn't like lying at all, and I was very afraid. Maybe I should tell him. He is the leader of our group after all. With a heavy sigh, I gave him a single nod, my tense shoulders beginning to relax, "Honestly, I really need someone to listen to me... I've been holding so much in."
"Well, I'm always here to listen," he smiled widely, pulling up a chair and taking a seat, pressing his hands to his chest. "Now, tell big brother Namjoon what's on your mind."
I took a seat on the couch and put my phone on the table, recalling what happened after the first award show, "Someone... has been sending me death threats." I said carefully, meeting his gaze and his smile faded slowly, disbelief on his visage.
"Really?" He asked me, leaning forward a bit. "How long has this been going on?"
"Since after my debut," I stated. "I know, I should have told you as soon as possible but... I thought it was normal—that idols always receive hate from some people. I didn't want to worry you or the others and I didn't want it to damage my mental health, so I left all social media platforms to get away."
"Well, at least you did the right thing," he nodded slowly. "No one needs that toxicity. But still, next time if anything happens, you need to tell me."
"I promise I will," I replied before continuing. "A-Anyway, this person is an obsessive fan of Jungkook. She doesn't tolerate me anywhere near him. She thinks I joined Bangtan just to get closer to you and she also has gotten a hold of my number..."
"That's crazy," he remarked solemnly, crossing his arms. "That means this person came to Japan with us. I don't think it's any other idol. We wouldn't do something like that. Despite the feuds between our fanbases, we're all good friends."
"Do you really think it's someone that's hanging around us?" I wondered.
"It definitely is," he responded. "I'll let Suho hyung and Wendy know. The four of us can figure it out without the others getting hurt."
"She has your numbers as well," I added. "She said if I blocked her number, she'll threaten you and make you guys feel insecure. The last thing I want is for you all to feel that way, especially Jungkook oppa."
"I'll call them right away," he stood up and pulled his phone out of his pocket, dialing Suho's number and watched as they spoke over the phone before Namjoon went ahead and talked to Wendy.
In the next few minutes, the two of them walked into the cottage, closing the door behind them, and Wendy walked toward me with a worried expression, "You okay?"
"I am, now that I've told you guys," I said and she grabbed my hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.
"You told us sooner rather than later," Suho walked toward me, a gentle smile on his face. "If you hadn't, I think it would have taken a toll on your mental health."
"We're the only English speakers in our groups," Wendy looked between us. "Whenever we discuss this, make sure we communicate this way. The last thing we want is to cause an uproar because of this, and we could use this to our advantage. Maybe this fan doesn't understand what we're saying."
"She is with us though," Suho said. "She followed us all the way to Japan and she may be looking to sabotage the show. We can't rule out the possibility of that."
"She's obsessed with Jungkook," I explained. "She doesn't want me collaborating with him. We're partners for this award show."
"That's problematic," Namjoon frowned, tucking his hands into his jeans and looking to his feet. "We have to do something and quick."
"I'll check with the camera crew and technicians—anyone that is handling the award show," Suho faced the leader of Bangtan.
"And I'll check with the stylists," Wendy spoke up. "If its a female fan, then she's bound to gossip with the makeup artists and others."
"And in the meantime, I'll still practice with Jungkook," I said. "I can't let this distract me. I need to stay focused."
"You should practice with some people around you," Suho suggested. "The both of you stay with either Bangtan, EXO, of Red Velvet until the award show. If she's sending death threats, you'll find protection among others. I'll even make a call to tighten security."
"Never expect less from the future CEO of SM Entertainment," Wendy smirked toward EXO's leader and he chuckled with amusement.
"Have to make sure all idols are protected after all," he met my gaze and gave me that kind grin once again. "Be careful, alright?"
"I will," I bowed. "Thank you so much."
"It's no problem," Namjoon placed a hand on my shoulder. "We're not letting our little sister go down. You're family and you deserve to participate as much as we do."
******
Sehun had the biggest smile on his face, seated on the steps of EXO's cottage as Chanyeol talked to the backup dancers that would join them during their show. He placed his elbows on his thighs, hands folded with his chin resting on them, giggling to himself as he thought about Ha-Neul. The night before and the early morning were memories he didn't want fading from his thoughts. He wanted to hold Ha-Neul again, loving how tiny and cute she looked when she slept, her hair caught the sun's light in just the way that made his heart melt.
You really are clingy and needy...
He giggled dumbly again.
You little puppy.
And again.
Oppa! For someone who acts sexy on stage, you act like a little kid offstage.
And again.
Chanyeol had finished talking to the backup dancers before turning toward the younger male, "Sehun-ah, let's get back to it."
He continued to giggle dreamily as if he didn't hear him, eye smiling now.
"Ya," Chanyeol called out to him, waving a hand in front of the maknae's face, who wouldn't stop daydreaming. "Ya. Ya!" Chanyeol called out, lifting his foot and pushing Sehun against the steps to snap him out of his reverie.
"Ack!" The dark-haired male exclaimed as he was pushed to the side, his eyes on his elder. "Ah, hyung... mianhe."
Chanyeol crossed his arms and cocked an eyebrow, "Wonder what's made you so turned on... or who?"
"I-It's not like that!" Sehun shook his head vigorously. "I can't help it, you know. I'm sure you acted this way with Noona as well."
"Sure, I laughed like a madman everytime I thought about her," there was sarcasm in Chanyeol voice. "You sure are desperate for attention, even though we baby you a lot."
"What can I say?" he stood up, smirking. "I like the attention, especially when she's only looking at me..."
"She'll be looking at you during the show, so you better get back to work," Chanyeol grabbed him in a headlock, ruffling the younger male's hair and cackling as Sehun pushed him away in protest. Just as he was about to whine and complain, his dark eyes trailed past his senior, spotting the brunette he was completely enamored with walking with Jungkook, ready to practice outside.
"Oh! Ha-Neul-ah!" Sehun exclaimed and the girl's attention was on him now.
She raised her brows and Jungkook raised his arms, waving with that mischievous grin on his face, "Sehun hyung! Chanyeol hyung!"
"Jungkook," EXO's rapper turned around, arms still crossed, "looks like they've decided to practice outside like us."
"Come over!" Sehun waved gestured with excitement.
Ha-Neul was reluctant but she shrugged and walked toward the older men with Jungkook behind her, "Did you guys make any progress?" She asked.
"We did but Sehun is too busy daydreaming to continue," Chanyeol teased and Sehun scrunched his face, glaring at him.
"Why not show us what you came up with so far?" she asked.
The tall male hummed in contemplation, licking his lips before walking toward Ha-Neul, leaning in. She took a careful step back, staring at him in inquiry, and he pressed a finger to his lips, "It's a surprise."
"Huh?" she made a confused sound.
"Ahh," Jungkook held his hips, smirking. "So it's gonna be like that then? Alright, then we won't show you what we're working on, hyung," He winked before looking down at Ha-Neul. "But I'm sure you'll get a nosebleed from watching Ha-Neul rap."
Sehun stumbled backward in astonishment, lips pursed, "J-Jinjjah?! She's going to rap?!"
"Oppa!" She exclaimed, "Why did you tell him?!"
"You really think I didn't know?" Jungkook's smirk grew wider and he wriggled his eyebrows pervertedly. "I know you and Sehun hyung are dating."
Her eyes widened and she said in between a whisper and a shout. "Quiet down, will you?! Wh-Who told you that?!" She squeaked.
"I heard from Suho hyung, who was discussing it with Baekhyun hyung, who told me," he snickered. "Yaaaaaa, you're so bold, Ha-Neul! I didn't think this would happen so soon! I'm so proud!"
"Don't tell anyone else! Aigoo!" She said with exasperation, the apples of her pale cheeks pink, and Sehun couldn't help but grin dumbly at how cute she looked. She exhaled heavily and faced the older men, "He's right. I'm going to be rapping for the show, but if you're keeping your performance a secret, so are we!"
"Fair enough," Sehun tucked his hands into the pockets of his skinny jeans. "How about a challenge? Let's see who can make each other stare. I plan on having your undivided attention, jagi." He couldn't describe how good it felt right now to call her that in front of a member of Bangtan.
"I plan the same thing," she crossed her arms and stepped closer to him, tilting her head and narrowing her eyes to get a better view of her towering boyfriend. "I'm going to make sure you don't look anywhere else but the stage. On me."
"Aish," Chanyeol hissed. "are you two already fighting with each other?"
"Nope," Ha-Neul shook her head, looking at him. "People do crazy things when it comes to attraction."
******
In the distance, Il-sung was seated on the patio of his group's cottage, sipping his iced coffee as he watched Ha-Neul and Sehun go back and forth, teasing each other and giggling, and Jungkook and Chanyeol were no different. He sighed quietly, eyes trailing along her brown hair that blew in the gentle ocean breeze. Her chocolate brown eyes were sparkling in the sun, a slight blush to her cheeks as she pressed a hand to her mouth, laughing at whatever Sehun and Chanyeol said before Jungkook joined in on their antics. The beach dress she wore suited her--a white summer dress with a teal gradient at the end of the skirt, and on her dainty feet were sandals. He observed the way Sehun reached out to brush her fringe away from her eyes, sweet talking her while the four of them took a seat on the steps of EXO's cottage.
She was an absolute angel in his eyes. Love at first sight was something he never knew existed until now. It was a shame she seemed interested in Sehun however, but he hoped in time, he would be able to turn her gaze toward him.
"Hyung," Min-jae said after swallowing a piece of clementine. "Ya, hyung!" He listened to the leader of Cardinal Love sigh lovingly.
"Look at her, will you?" He spoke. "The way the sun catches her eyes... her iridescent smile... she's an angel sent to save me..."
"He's gone nuts," Cheol-min sighed with defeat, leaning against the doorframe. "As if being the princely type and shameless flattery wasn't enough for him. You say that about all the other girls."
"But she's different," Il-sung breathed. "she's the one, I know it. The one meant for me."
"EXO's maknae seems very comfortable around her," Hyun-wook said sourly after munching on some french fries. "Seems like the two of them are close... you'll have no chance with him protecting her all the time."
"Don't worry," Il-sung assured him. "I'll find a way... she and I will be together in no time."
"Good."
They turned to the voice behind them, and Eun-jae stood, glaring daggers in Ha-Neul's direction as she walked onto the patio. "If we want to get rid of her, we create a scandal."
"But... why are you so fixated on her?" Cheol-min wondered and she pulled out her phone.
"She took away someone I hold dear" she explained, scrolling through her contacts to find the female idol's number. "and she's going to pay for that crime... I could care less about Bangtan's maknae, but if I'm going to drive her out, I better play the part of the obsessive fan."
"Someone dear to you?" Il-sung parroted and the young woman scoffed gently.
"He's gone now... and it's all because of her," she pressed her finger on Ha-Neul's number, bringing the phone to her ear.

Jeon Jeongguk—To Know a Person (08)
You’ve been calling, texting, emailing for years. But is that really enough to know a person? You’re about to find out. —fluff and angst

Mark—He sounds like a big baby
You laughed:
Omg stop It’s understandable for him to be upset I’m upset
Mark—But you’re not throwing a tantrum
You grinned:
…You’re mean like an American person
Mark—Wtf does that mean
Thinking of other things, you paused and typed:
I should tell him about my study abroad plans
Mark—You’re coming here to study abroad! That’s awesome! Nice subject change btw ;)
You typed quickly:
If you like that, you’ll love how I end this conversation C u later
Mark—Ugh. You’re mean like an American person
You chuckled at your screen, the humor fading as your eyes rose to the empty kitchen. Everything seemed darker, and you wondered how your surroundings could be so affected by your mood. But a quick look out the window and you realized it was actually cloudy outside. It was raining.
You slid off the bar stool and walked quietly over to Jeongguk’s room. He hadn’t been on the couch, which meant he must have been taking refuge in his own space.
The door creaked as it opened but Jeongguk didn’t move. He was laying on his back on the bed, the sheets in a pile on the floor (after the second day you both hadn't bothered putting them back on the bed) and he was staring intently at the ceiling. He dragged a hand down his face and sighed. “I forgot.”
You nodded, standing between his feet that were dangling off the edge of the bed. “Me, too.”
He sat up, his knees brushing the sides of your legs as he straightened himself out. Without thinking about it, because everything was moving so quickly that you had given up trying to keep borders on your interactions, you ran your fingers through his hair. He smiled at the sensation, forgetting again.
“I have something to tell you,” you said. His eyes widened with a perfect mingling of fear and hope in them. You opened your mouth to tell him, but before you could get the words out a loud commotion from the entryway drew your attention.
“You two better have your clothes on!” someone yelled, laughing loudly and familiarly so that it echoed across the apartment.
“Oh my god,” Jeongguk groaned, his head falling against your shoulder. He felt at once relieved and disappointed. He had no clue what you were about to say, and now that had time to fester. “They’re early.”
You chuckled and ran your fingers through his hair again, your heart racing in your chest. You heard multiple sets of feet hitting the floor and your brain flooded with fear. You could handle meeting one at a time, but how many were here now?
“Where is she? Where is she?” a sweet voice chanted, running across the apartment with delight.
“I’m scared,” you whispered, trembling in front of Jeongguk.
“They are pretty terrifying,” he said, standing to his full height, so close that he pushed against you. His hand traveled down your arm and clasped your own. But it felt different, as if something had shifted, only noticeable because of how acutely aware you were of him. Hearing the voices outside, you wondered when you would be able to talk to him alone again.
“Why are you checking our rooms?” someone said, “You know she’s staying in Guk’s room.”
Someone sighed and said, “It’s no fun if I already know the answer, hyung.” Their Korean was smooth and easy, fast as they joked around.
“Who is it?” you whispered, holding Jeongguk’s hand tightly to keep him from walking outside. You didn’t know why, but you wanted to delay meeting them for as long as possible as if this bubble the two of you had constructed over the last week would dissolve as soon as an outsider entered.
“Jin-hyung, Hoseok-hyung and Jimin-hyung.”
You exhaled slowly, your hands shaking. Jeongguk watched you with wonder, “Why are you so nervous?”
“These are the most important people in your life,” you said, your eyes as wide as saucers, “I want them to like me.”
Jeongguk kissed your forehead, “They already do.”
The introductions had been a whirlwind of excited laughter and genuine smiles, and lots of bouncing up and down on the part of Jimin and Hoseok. After Jeongguk had introduced you, you had bowed respectfully, trying to hide behind a curtain of your hair.
“Aigoo,” Hoseok said, “So cute!”
You blushed and turned into Jeongguk like a child hiding behind her mother’s skirts. His arm wrapped around you, but it felt...different. His body seemed tensed and guarded, a stark contrast to the relaxed boy you’d been alone with all week. You looked up from where you’d buried your face in his chest with questioning eyes, but he was looking up at his hyungs. He was smiling, yes, but there was something about it that didn’t seem right.
Over the next hour, the rest of the infamous K-Pop group stumbled into the apartment looking rested and antsy. Namjoon had come in with a duffle bag slung over his shoulder and a beanie resting low on his eyebrows. Taehyung came in after him with his nose in his phone, a baseball cap sitting backward on his head. Yoongi was the last, headphones securely in place until he spotted you, a traditional gummy smile transforming his face as he said in chirpy Korean, “Foreigner!”
You were on the couch, surrounded by five gorgeous Korean boys who were chuckling at Yoongi’s comment. He abandoned his luggage in the entryway and sat next to Hoseok comfortably, bumping fists and slapping hands as a way of greeting the members he hadn’t seen for awhile.
After the introductions, Jimin’s stomach interrupted the clamor of conversation as they all asked you questions. Everyone’s eyes turned to him, and a communal chuckle as Jin twisted around numerous bodies to reach the phone. His fingers hovered over the keypad when he paused and looked at you nervously, “What to eat?” he said in English.
You blushed as all seven pairs of eyes turned on you. Your glance turned to Jeongguk, who was sitting to your left. His body was tense and as soon as his eyes met yours, he looked away. His forearms were resting on his thighs, leaning heavily against them and looking at the ground, his body tensed.
One by one, each of the other members’ gazes slid from you to Jeongguk, seven downturned frowns transforming their faces, quickly going back to smiles as you looked at them. Fiddling with your fingers, you answered quietly in Korean, “Noodles?”
“Alright!” Hoseok exclaimed, patting Jin’s back excitedly as he dialed the number for their favorite noodle place. After Jin ordered and confirmed how long it would take, the members dispersed to unpack and get ready for dinner.
“I’m going to take a shower,” Jeongguk whispered, rubbing his hands against his thighs and standing, walking away quickly towards the bathroom. Jin and Jimin sidled up to him, chatting away about their breaks as they walked.
You watched him walk away and Namjoon watched you. He’d been skeptical about your and Jeongguk’s plans to meet in person. He figured it wouldn’t go very well—it was a very big lie that Jeongguk had told you. And he hadn’t liked how hurt Jeongguk had been after the incident in the airport. But looking at you now, he could see your...devotion, plain as day. But there was something off. Yoongi had described the two you during a phone call, and it didn’t seem at all like he described.
Namjoon sucked on the inside of his cheek as the rest of the members filed out. He stood slowly, your eyes never shifting from Jeongguk even though he had disappeared. “Want some water?” he offered, your head finally turning away from the place Jeongguk had been walking.
“Um, sure,” you said, following him into the kitchen.
“How do you like Korea?” Namjoon said as he slid the glass across the counter to you.
You sighed, pushing Jeongguk’s coldness from your mind for a moment as you recalled all of the things you’d seen in Korea. Your response was like an exhale, a breath you’d held in your lungs and suddenly released, “It’s amazing,” you ran your finger along the rim of your glass and looked up at him, sincerity shining in your eyes, “Feels like home.” You looked over your shoulder, in the direction of Jeongguk’s room.
Namjoon chuckled, his dimpled smile taking over his face as he said, “The place or the person?”
You smiled down at your water, suddenly nervous. You felt the tension that had formed between you and Jeongguk since your conversation that morning. It seemed like a chill had settled on your shoulders, a kind of uneasiness in the air.
“The person,” you confirmed, but your voice held none of the gooey, love-sick tones that had coated them the past few days. They were like the puff of air visible in the winter air, a sign of the weather. You looked up at Namjoon, feeling desperate and isolated, tears welling in your eyes.
Namjoon filled with sympathy at the desperation of your expression. His eyebrows raised and he almost broke his glass trying to put it back on the counter. You chewed on your bottom lip and hit your fingers against your glass in a nervous rhythm.
“Something’s wrong,” you whispered, turning to look over your shoulder in Jeongguk’s direction again, “He’s different.”
“Jeongguk’s—” Namjoon cut himself off when the maknae rounded the corner, his hair still damp from his quick shower. His eyes snapped between the two of you like a sniper’s viewfinder, serious and deadly. His eyes narrowed and his expression hardened. Jeongguk scoffed and turned away, his shoulders stiff as he retreated to Jimin’s room.
You nearly collapsed against the counter, hands burying into your hair as you whispered, “What’s in his head?”
Jeongguk fell onto Jimin’s bed with a thunk, but Jimin didn’t look away from the mirror, where he was brushing his hair in a very specific way. Hoseok was at his desk, plugging in various computer cords, unpacking now that he was back.
“Sick of her already?” Hoseok joked, turning in his swivel chair to chuckle at Jeongguk happily. Jeongguk sighed moodily and rolled onto his stomach, burying his head in the sheets with an unhappy groan. Hoseok and Jimin shared a look.
“Wait,” Jimin said, still smiling because he suspected this might be a practical joke, “Really?”
“She’s leaving,” Jeongguk said, turning to his back and sitting up, but keeping his head angled down. Hoseok frowned and walked over to the bed, sitting beside the maknae and rubbing his back soothingly.
“That was always the plan, I thought,” Hoseok whispered.
Jeongguk sniffed, scrunching his nose up to keep from crying. He wiped a hand down his face and pinched the bridge of his nose before responding. “I forgot.”
“Oh,” Jimin whispered, sitting on his other side.
“What if she doesn’t come back?” Jeongguk said, a dry sob in the back of his throat as the desperation he felt strained all of his muscles.
You and Jeongguk met in the hallway two minutes later, after the doorbell echoed through the house and Seokjin had cheered through the hallways that the food was here. Each of the members pulled out a couple of dollars and Seokjin handed it all to the delivery boy, accepting the giant bag of food in return. They bowed to each other and the door closed easily.
“Mianhaeyo,” you said, for what seemed like the millionth time, “I don’t have any money.”
Taehyung smiled boxily in your direction, “You’re the guest.”
“Although you did ruin that pan,” Yoongi joked, rifling through the bags with a pair of chopsticks already in his hands.
“Oh my god,” you groaned, hiding behind your hands, momentarily forgetting about the weird tension with Jeongguk as the members conversed with you easily, asking you questions about what you’d been doing, what you did in the States, etc.
But when you all sat down to eat, and the space between you and Jeongguk was five inches of empty, hazardous, invisible no-man’s land, the tension came back like a flood in a valley. He seemed bright and cheery, his smile sweet and his conversation happy, but everyone sensed something off. You tried to ignore it and just eat, but it was like swimming with jellyfish, every movement was painful.
Despite the weird energy between you both, you ended up staying up quite late talking to the members, chatting with them comfortably. By the end of the night, they all felt so genuinely affectionate towards you (if only for the sake of their maknae) that it was only bittered by the fact that you and Jeongguk did not seem to be getting along. But, hoping for the best, you followed Jeongguk into his bedroom once everyone dispersed.
“Finally alone,” you smiled, patting the bed so that Jeongguk would sit with you. But instead, he stood and opened some drawers on his dresser, digging through them haphazardly. You ignored it and said, “There’s something I’ve been wanting to tell you.” But he didn’t turn around and with every word you spoke his muscles seemed to tense, his back stiff as he avoided your gaze. You furrowed your eyebrows and said, “Hey, what’s going on?”
“What?” he said gruffly, in Korean. He didn’t look up or soften his voice at all, but just kept rifling through.
“Hey,” you whispered, standing and putting a hand on his shoulder. You switched to Korean, speaking softly, “You were weird today.”
“Weird?” he said absently, his eyes still not shifting away from the drawer.
You tugged on his arm so that he was forced to look, an annoyed sigh escaping his lips. You raised your eyebrows and felt as if you’d been slapped. Even the few times he’d been upset with you, prior to your meeting, he’d never had this kind of attitude. He was a genuine person and that didn’t lend itself to passive aggressive sighs or cold shoulders. You stepped back and chewed on your bottom lip, finding the words you’d been planning to say shrinking back into your throat. Taking another moment, you continued on in Korean, “You seemed really distant today. Is everything alright?”
“Fine,” he huffed, a piece of his hair blowing away from his face and his eyes drifting to look away from you.
“Jeongguk,” you whispered, holding both of his hands and pleading, “Talk to me.”
“No,” he whispered angrily, brushing past you so that his arm hit yours roughly before he slammed the door on his way out. Irritation boiled in you like lava, burning the concern from your mind as you pulled the door open abruptly.
You didn’t look at the various members who’d stuck their heads into the hall at the commotion and focused solely on the tensed muscles underneath Jeongguk’s t-shirt. “What’s going on?” you screamed, the desperation and frustration straining your voice so that it hurt to speak.
Jeongguk turned and glared at you, his expression like ice. Behind him Hoseok and Jimin had appeared from their shared room, Yoongi wandering out with a toothbrush in his mouth. Behind you, Namjoon, Jin, and Taehyung had appeared, too, searching the maknae’s face for a clue as to what was happening.
His silence was a non-answer, so you pushed on. “Things were great Jeongguk. What happened! You barely looked at me all day! And now you won’t even talk to me?”
“What does it matter!” Jeongguk was yelling, tears brimming in his eyes as his face reddened with frustration. “You’re leaving!” The sound had burst from him almost involuntarily like a balloon pushed so far that it popped.
You stepped back. You looked away from him, unable to see his beautiful face so contorted by sadness and frustration. “Is that what this is about?” you whispered, taking another step back before finally looking up at him.
Jeongguk felt as if he’d been hit by a high-speed train, your expression so hurt that all the air was taken from his lungs. He was frozen as you kept speaking.
“That’s why you’ve been avoiding me? And been so cold to me today?” your voice was quiet but so loud that it rung in Jeongguk’s ears. Your eyes pierced him and he felt your pain sharply in his chest. “You’re afraid of getting hurt? So you shut down?”
Everything was a question because you were begging him to contradict you, to spin some other tale that explained his behavior. Because you had finally let yourself trust him. You had finally accepted that this was Jeongguk. The...love of your life.
“What if you don’t come back?” Jeongguk’s words escaped him as if from an exhale as if he’d been stepped on and he’d been holding those words in the back of his throat and they escaped involuntarily.
You sighed, pain and betrayal blooming in your chest like a devastating rose. “Congratulations, Jeongguk,” you whispered, “You protected yourself by hurting me.”

Kwon Ji Yong, Boss Pt 5
Hello lovelies, just my usual reminder, Y/S/N is “Your sons name” Enjoy, and don’t be afraid to leave some feedback, I love hearing from people. <3
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You wiggle your nose, opening and closing your mouth a few times. You are completely asleep, unaware of Ji Yong staring down at your face. He grins as he realizes just how cute you really are. Your son comes into the room, and sets his chin on the edge of the be, looking at Ji Yong with curious eyes. “Do you like omma?” Ji Yong jumps and looks at Y/S/N. “Aigoo! You scared me!” He chuckles, getting out of bed and picking up the small boy. “Let’s go make breakfast for mommy, and we’ll talk in the kitchen. Yeah?” Your son nods his head furiously, and they leave the room. You slowly open your eyes, a small smile on your face. You take a quick shower, pulling on leggings and an oversized shirt, you wrap your hair up in a towel hat. Peeking around the corner, you watch as Ji Yong and your son make breakfast. “You like omma.” He states again in a matter of fact voice. Ji Yong looks at your son, and chuckles. “How do you know?”
“Well mommy said that she’ll be with you. And you guys shared a bed.” Ji Yong tilted his head. “Are you sure you’re really 3?” Y/S/N giggles and nods. “Mm, mama says I talk like a grown-up. But I’m almost 4. So, I’m close.” Ji Yong laughs, and ruffles Y/S/N’s hair. “Don’t rush it little man.” It’s quiet for a moment, and then you hear the little voice peep up again. “Will you marry omma?” Ji Yong suddenly choked on a piece of bacon, “What if your mom doesn’t want to marry me?” He stopped for a minute, the way 3- year-olds do and made a very serious thinking face. “Well… Maybe you can dance, around… OH! And wiggle your butt. Omma and her friend used to talk about guys with cute butts.” Your son rambled on, and on, and Ji Yong responded to everything. You took a picture of them, and went back to the room.
The life that your son had been living up until this moment, had been hard. And even though he was a trooper, he still showed signs of being sad. You had hoped that you could build a better life for him, and even find someone better to marry and have a bigger family with. A knock on the door brought you out of your thoughts. “OMMA! We’re bringing you breakfast in bed. IN BED. It doesn’t count if you’re standing next to it.” Y/S/N shooed you back under the covers, and climbed onto the large bed. Then he pointed Ji Yong to the spot where he had slept. “You too. I am feeding both of you. Because I need to be a responsible adult.” Hiding a giggle, you look over at a very amused Ji Yong. Your son continues by explaining what you were about to eat, even though it was a simple generic American breakfast. “I don’t have too much for Korean meals. But I was wondering if you would come with me to the store and help me get stuff?” You nod, as you begin to eat your meal. Ji Yong and your son cuddle up and giggle as they tease you.
After having giving Y/S/N a bath, and Ji Yong insisting to buy you both new clothing, because the ones you had were getting old, and the rest were at your house. And it wasn’t safe to go to anymore anyways, you all bundled up warmly, and headed to a shopping mall. A few people gave you judgy looks, but Ji Yong grabbed your hand after boosting your son up on his shoulders. “Anything you want to do, try, eat, or buy, tell me okay?” Feeling overwhelmed you looked up at him. “But I don’t want you to spend money on me…” Ji Yong shook his head, “No, don’t do that. This isn’t a drama, okay Y/N? I promise you, I won’t force you to buy everything, but we aren’t leaving until you both have enough clothing. I am taking care of you. In fact, in public, let’s play family. Even though I just met Y/S/N, I’ve known you for several months now. We can pretend to be a family, and that way you won’t get looks like what they gave you a few minutes ago.” You sigh and look up at your son. “What do you think buddy? Wanna call Ji Yong Appa?” Your son smiled, and nodded. “Yeah! He can be my dad!” He leaned down to whisper in Ji Yong’s ear. “You wiggled your butt, didn’t you?”
After having bought countless amounts of clothing, and socks and underwear, you finally finished getting Y/S/N clothing, and a few toys. Ji Yong took you to get your hair and nails done. You got a new haircut, and style. Staring at your reflection you gape at your final look. “I mean you were gorgeous before, but damn.” Ji Yong said obviously approving this look. “Ommaaa you look so pretty! Appa did a good job choosing.” Blushing you thank the ladies who had helped you, and took Ji Yong’s hand. Stopping to eat pizza, you begin a conversation. “So, I heard your little chat this morning.”
Ji Yong grinned, “Snooping, were you?” You shrugged, shifting forward in your seat to lean closer. “Thank you for all the stuff you’re doing. I was so scared that he would have to grow up without someone to look up to.” Taking a bite of pizza, you gaze down at your child, happily eating and drawing on a coloring placemat. He was kicking his legs back and forth, had sauce on his face, and a really good appetite. Something he hadn’t had in a while. Glancing back at Ji Yong, you were startled by his stare. He had a very intense look on his face. “No. You are someone to look up to. Just because you don’t have a husband now, doesn’t mean he can’t look up to you. If anything, you’re the only one he should look up to. You are amazing. You’ve come this far, and you held it together. Okay?” You nod, soaking up the words that were just said.
He opened his mouth again, “And for the record, what do you think about my butt?” You giggle, and shake your head not answering as he pesters you. Once you had finished eating, you walked through the mall, buying a few more things here and there. Ji Yong was carrying your sleeping son, and watching you explore such a huge shopping mall. Coming to a lingerie store, you stop, and turn. “Ji Yong…” He interrupts you. “No no no, it’s Oppa.” You begin to protest, but decide against it. “Oppa… Can I have some money? I want to get something, but I want to go alone.” You give him your best puppy eyes. “You’re going in there aren’t you?” He laughed, nodding towards the lingerie store. Blushing, you take the money from his hand and run away. He chuckled watching you go, and wondering why you were suddenly being so shy. Once you had bought some special somethin’ somethin’, Ji Yong took your hand as you went out to the car. “You know, buying lingerie isn’t something you have to be shy about. I know that girls like to buy sexy stuff just so they feel good about themselves. Even if only they see it.” You pull the large bags away from his prying eyes. “Mine.” You giggle.
He gets closer to you as the driver starts taking you home. “No peeking? Not even if I wiggle my butt?” You sigh, and pushing his shoulder teasingly, “Well you do have a very cute butt. But no.” He pouts, getting closer and closer, touching your nose with his. “Then can I have a kiss?” You hesitate, which he takes a no. Ji Yong begins to back off, but you grab his arm, and nod. “Yes.” He looks at your face, to make sure you weren’t just saying that. Leaning in, his lips gently brush yours, and his phone rings. Groaning he sits back and checks it. “It’s my father. Hold on.” He answers it, but all you can focus on is your heart pounding. Y/S/N, is sleeping peacefully in his car seat. Ji Yong hangs up and laughs, “I think that’s the first car seat to ever be in a limo.” Then he grabs your waist and pulls you up against him. “Now…” Without hesitation he leans down and kisses you. The feeling in your body goes numb, as his tongue touches your bottom lip, and you let him in. In fact, your kiss was so intense that neither one of you noticed the car stopping, or the driver chuckling and taking your son into the house to be put to bed.
However, you did notice the man that got in, and cleared his throat. “Ji Yong.” Ji Yong pulled back, and looked at the man in shock. “Father?”

Wanna Try Me?
Request: Can I request numbers 2 and 9 with EXO's Baekhyun please? :)
2) “Okay…so like…there’s only a 30% chance that we’ll die.”
9) “I have a question that can make or break this relationship.”
Member: EXO’s Baekhyun x Y/N x (ft. Chanyeol)
Type: Fluff
“Are you going to keep staring or are you actually going to talk?” Chanyeol muttered, stirring lazily at the contents of his coffee cup.
“Stare,” Baekhyun nodded confidently, readjusting his chin on his palm. “Definitely stare.”
“I’ve never known you to be the one to watch from afar,” Chanyeol sighed. He leaned back in the small, cafe booth and sent a fleeting look over his shoulder. “You act like you’ve seen the most beautiful person on the planet.”
“Because I have,” Baekhyun cooed, tilting his head like a lovesick teenager. “Don’t you agree?”
“Eh, they’re alright,” Chanyeol grumbled. “Can we go now?”
“Absolutely not,” Baekhyun chuckled, his coffee long since gone cold. “I told you if you didn’t want to spend time with me, you didn’t have to come.”
“By spend time, I thought you meant...you know, do normal things,” Chanyeol mumbled. “Like eat food and...then go get ice cream...and then maybe go pick up some take out?”
“Those are literally all just eating,” Baekhyun sighed.
“Well, you’ve never complained before!” Chanyeol gasped. “Not until you started coming to this cafe almost every morning you have off. Now you’re suddenly interested in poetry and flowers and...I DON”T EVEN KNOW YOU ANYMORE.”
“Aigoo,” Baekhyun chuckled, rolling his eyes. “You’re so dramatic.”
“Dramatically alone and sad,” Chanyeol pouted. “Now can’t you just please go to the counter and say something? It would save us both a lot of time.”
“I’ve tried,” Baekhyun sighed dreamily. “But I’ve been shot down every time.”
“You’ve...you’ve been what?” Chanyeol choked. “You’ve been daydreaming away over someone who won’t even see you?”
“Oh, I’ve been seen,” Baekhyun nodded confidently. “Just not acknowledged.”
“Aish,” Chanyeol groaned. “Come on, I’m taking you back to the dorm. Maybe Jongdae can talk some sense into you.”
“One sec,” Baekhyun whispered, springing from the booth.
“You’re only going to get your heart broken again!” Chanyeol called after him. “Heart in pieces! Dead on the floor!”
Baekhyun ignored his member as he strode confidently toward the cafe counter, his eyes never leaving your body. He waited patiently in line, the picture of calm as he took small steps toward the cash register.
“What can I-” you began, lifting your eyes from the small digital clock before you. You were supposed to get off fifteen minutes ago, but your relief still hand’t arrived. You raised your face, locking your eyes with the patron on the opposite side of the counter. “Oh, it’s you again.”
The handsome boy nodded confidently, a cocky smirk on his face that drove you crazy. He was almost painful to look at because he was so good looking, but you would push that thought to the side. He had been showing up to the cafe you worked at almost everyday for the past week, with staggered visits before then. With every trip, he grew progressively more bold in his attempts to garner your attention, but you remained steadfast.
Pretty boys like him were nothing but trouble. And you had had your heart broken enough times to know that you should keep him at arm’s length.
“Don’t sound so excited,” he grinned, tilting his head. His smile was constantly present on his lips as he spoke, his eyes dancing across your face.
“What can I get you?” you sighed, looking down so you wouldn’t have to look at him.
He’ll only hurt you, you thought. Everyone leaves in the end, so why waste your time?
“A date,” he nodded confidently.
“It’s July 23rd,” you answered just as confidently. “Next in line please.”
“No, I would like to take you, on a date,” he repeated, never growing tired with your ability to play hard to get.
“Sorry, I’m busy,” you hummed. “Next in line!”
“I didn’t even tell you what day,” he sighed, a small chink appearing in his playful armor. You felt a butterfly or two flutter along your stomach. You found joy knowing that you could get to him. “Are you familiar with North Seoul Tower? I hear it’s a lovely place for couples-”
“To die. It’s the second tallest building in Seoul and with a swift wind-” you began.
“Okay, so like...there’s only a 30% chance we’ll die,” he chuckled. “But I’ll protect you, so it’s not a big deal.”
“Still busy,” you muttered. “Now please, next-”
“If you ask for the next customer, I’m going to honestly have a heart attack right in this very spot and you’ll be responsible for killing a customer,” he sighed, shifting his weight from one foot to the other. “Y/N, please.”
You lifted your brows, watching the line grow behind the steadfast man. The woman behind him looked especially peeved as she crossed her arms and began tapping her foot, the international symbol for impatience.
But this kid had all the patience in the world.
“Look, I get off soon,” you whispered, trying to solve the situation as you saw your manager begin to loom behind you. “Wait around and we can talk. No promises.”
With a simple sentence the young man’s entire face lit up. His eyes had found the same amazement they once had when he first approached you. He gave a quick nod to you before he spun on his heel and sauntered back toward the booth he was originally sitting in. You heaved a sigh before running the back of your hand over your forehead.
Maybe you could escape out of the back door and he would never notice.
“It’s been like twenty minutes,” Chanyeol grumbled. “Where the hell are they?”
“I told you you could go back to the dorm,” Baekhyun sighed as he scrolled lazily through his phone. “I’ve been given a chance, and I don’t plan on wasting it.”
“You’re too much,” Chanyeol chuckled, shaking his head. “I would have given up ages ago.”
“No, you wouldn’t have,” Baekhyun grinned. “Not if you wanted it enough.”
“Alright, fine,” Chanyeol whined. “But I sure as hell would have picked a restaurant with more comfortable booths. My ass went numb a half hour ago.”
“Maybe if you weren’t so lanky and you’re blood didn’t have to flow to so many inches of your body then you wouldn’t- hey Y/N,” Baekhyun gasped, looking up.
You stood awkwardly beside the table he had been camped at all morning, your own iced coffee in hand. You wiped a stray stain from your arm onto your dirty apron and shifted your weight. You chewed on your lip absently, waiting for one of them to scoot over and allow you to sit. Your feet were killing you after standing for nine hours straight.
You glanced curiously toward the taller boy seated across from the one you were so familiar with. He was just as handsome, but in a different, more innocent way. Where you felt that the boy who had been near stalking you for a month had a hidden sultry side, this one looked as pure as they came.
“Ah, sorry,” the familiar stranger said quickly, a blush finding his cheeks as he stood. “Please, sit!”
“No, I’ll let you two talk,” the innocent looking one said as he slid out of the booth. You were surprised by his height as he immediately towered over you and offered a small wave. “Nice to meet you...” He squinted at your name tag and looked up again. “Y/N.”
“Yep,” you said shortly, plopping down in the spot he once sat. Your admirer immediately sat back down as well, waving off his friend as he began to exit the cafe.
“Alright, I don’t have much time...what’s your name?” you asked, fiddling anxiously with the straw in your cup.
“Baekhyun,” he nodded with a small smile. He remained confident as he spoke.
“Okay Baek,” you nodded. “I don’t have a lot of time, so please, enlighten me, what do you want?”
“Is ‘you’ too forward of a response?” he grinned, batting his eyelashes.
You didn’t even know men were capable of batting their eyelashes.
“So, I’m going to get up from the table now,” you nodded, beginning to gather your things. “Nice to meet you Nicktoon.”
“Baekhyun,” he smiled warmly, touching your hand lightly before you had a chance to slide it from the table. You respected his tolerance level. “Y/N, I’ve come to this cafe on every possible day I could, just to see you. I haven’t been able to keep you out of my thoughts when you aren’t in front of my eyes.”
“You don’t know me,” you sighed, pulling your hand from beneath his soft fingertips. Even his hands were gorgeous.
“But I want to,” he nodded.
“You sound like you’re in a drama,” you grumbled, looking toward the window. The tall, puppy of a boy, pouted on a nearby bench. He scrolled through his phone, glancing up every now and again toward the cafe doors.
“I’ve had some experience,” he chuckled with a wink.
Whatever that meant.
You rolled your eyes, readjusting your gaze back to him. You were afraid if you looked at him for too long, you may fall in love. Which was a dangerous thing to do at first sight.
Or so you had heard.
“Look,” you groaned. “I really don’t have time to date right now.”
“Good, me either,” he smiled. “We should probably just start this relationship now then.”
You pursed your lips. You had to admit, he had spunk.
“You’re impossible,” you grumbled, circling your temples with your fingertips. It had been much too long of a day to deal with his enthusiasm.
“Let’s be honest here,” Baekhyun nodded. “I have a question that could make or break this relationship.”
“Thank goodness,” you muttered. Maybe you could get the “break” answer.
Even if maybe...just a little part of you...wanted to “make” the best of the situation.
“Where do you see yourself tomorrow?” he hummed, looking at you curiously.
“In a mirror,” you deadpanned. “See you around.”
You began to gather your things again, but this time Baekhyun’s found your hand with a new sense of urgency. “Wrong answer, but I can overlook that. Please, when can I see you again?”
“Are you ever going to take ‘no’ for an answer?” you whispered, your eyes meeting his for the first time. You felt a strange feeling begin to rise from your stomach and into your throat. It felt like someone had tied your tongue into a knot.
“Have I so far?” he grinned. “You may not want to admit it...but I’m pretty adorable. And if I keep showing up here...every morning...for the rest of our young adult lives, you’ll grow fond of me. So why don’t you make this easier on the both of us and just let me take you out.”
You closed your eyes, weighing your options. “You’ll really come every morning for the rest of our young adult lives?”
You opened your lids again to find the man beaming at you.
“Wanna try me?”

Chapter 6: Sleepover
Pairing: Jeon Jungkook x Lee Yoo Mi ( You )
Genre: Smut, Fluff, Angst
Word Count: 3.9k
A/N: I posted this about a month ago on Wattpad but forgot to post it here :’((( lol whoops
Previous Chapter | Next Chapter
After everyone had enough to eat and drink, everyone began helping me clean. Jungkook said he wasn’t ‘feeling good’, so I sent him upstairs to lay down. Everyone suggested that he stay the night again and I could just drop him off tomorrow when I go to work.
After what felt like the longest 30 minutes of cleaning ever, everyone had finally left. I had taken a shower in the guest bedroom and was wrapped in a towel. Opening the door to my room, I could see Jungkook was already comfortable in my bed. He didn’t seem to notice I walked in until I coughed at him, trying to get his attention.
“ Noona, what took you so long? I missed you. ” He whined, sitting himself up straight, his eyes scanning over my towel wrapped body.
“ I had to clean the house up and take a shower. I’m sorry.” I rolled my eyes and went straight to my dresser pulling out an oversized black shirt and some house shorts to sleep in.
“ Yah, turn around and don’t watch me change. ”
“ But noona I’ve already seen you naked. Why do I have to look away? ” He said getting off the bed making his way towards me.
“ Yah! Stay over there? Don-” Jungkook placed his lips on mine and strongly wrapped his arms around my body, making the towel fall off my naked body. I couldn’t help but melt into his kiss and return his actions.
“ You drive me insane. ” He breathed out, breaking the kiss, and placing his forehead against mine.
“ I could say the same about you. ”
I wrapped my arms around his body pulling him closer to me. How could this 20-year-old have such a huge effect on me? Raising my head, I locked eyes with him and just admired the way he looked at me.
“ I’m giving you four minutes to change before I look at you. Okay ? ”
I let out a small giggle and hummed in response. Jungkook went back on the bed and covered his head with a pillow so that he couldn’t watch me. I picked up the towel on the floor and placed it on the chair in the corner of my room and began to get dressed. Since I was only wearing the oversized shirt and some shorts, it took me less than 2 minutes to get dressed.
“ You can open your eyes now. ” I said placing the towel in the laundry basket.
He removed the pillow from his face and looked at me, raising an eyebrow at me.
“ Is that my shirt? ”
I looked down at the faded black shirt. I had found it in my laundry basket and I didn’t really know who it belonged to, so I kept it and slept in it almost every night.
“ I don’t know. Is it? I found it a year and a half ago while doing laundry. I don’t know who it belongs to, but it is pretty cozy. ” I said getting comfortable in the bed next to Jungkook.
“ Turn around. Let me see the tags on it. ” He said placing a hand on my shoulder.
I didn’t even think to check the tags. What if the shirt belongs to him and I’ve been wearing it all this time. His hand glided over my back and flipped the shirt so he could see the tag.
“ Is there a name on it? Is it yours? ” I asked.
He flipped the tag back into the shirt and continued to rub my back.
“ Noona, you must really like me. You’ve had this shirt for over a year? Aish noona. ” He laughed at me.
“ Yah! It’s not funny. ” I yelled hitting his arm.
“ Noona I should’ve approached you sooner. Aigoo, my Yoo Mi really likes me. ” He joked, patting my hair.
“ Aish, stop. I didn’t know it was yours. Like I said, I found it and I thought it was comfortable. ”
“ Okay okay, ” He said putting his hand in the air, “ I’m just teasing. I already told you, I love to see you in my clothes noona. ” I started to blush thinking about this morning.
“Yah, when are you going to stop calling me noona? I don’t like it. ” I huffed out, crossing my arms over my chest.
“ Why? I love calling you noona, and plus it’s respec-” I hit his arm hard cutting off his sentence. “ Why did you do that? ” He laughed out.
“ Yah, if we’re going to be dating or doing anything close to dating, I do not want to be called noona. I know I’m older than you but it makes me cringe a little. ”
He let out a soft giggle, “ Alright, I’ll only call you noona when we’re at work. Deal ? ”
“ Deal. ” I moved away from him.
“ Yoo Mi, come closer to me. ” Jungkook whined, pulling me by my waist so that I was cuddled up next to him. “ Much better. ”
I laid my head down on his chest and took a hold of his hand, tracing over the veins on his hand and his arm. His free hand moved its way up my shirt and laid it on my stomach.
“ You know Yoo Mi when I first saw you, I thought 'wow, she is absolutely beautiful. I want to be the man she can depend on for anything.’ You were one of my main motivations for striving to be better at everything. I really hoped that the better I got, the more you would look at me. I stayed for so many late practices and made sure to perfect everything.” He started rubbing his hand on my stomach.
I lifted my head to face him, his face was tinted with a slight shade of pink. A small smile crept on my face.
“ Jungkook, you worked that hard to impress me? ”
His face became a darker shade of pink and nodded his head. I let go of his hand and moved my body up so that I was facing him.
“ You idiot. You always made me worry when you worked too much. ” I lightly tapped his chest, laughing. “ When you kept practicing, even after everyone was already done and said you did great, I would wait for you to go home so I could be comfortable knowing you were going to go to sleep. ”
“ I’m sorry Yoo Mi, I promise I won’t make you worry anymore. ” His hand went and cupped my face. “ Gosh, you’re really driving me insane Yoo Mi. I can’t look at you properly when you’re wearing my shirt. My thoughts keep drifting into doing other things with you..” His eyes lowered themselves and his voice became deeper.
“ Yah, my legs still hurt from yesterday. ” I said jokingly, looking everywhere but his eyes.
He let out another low response. “ Come on Yoo Mi, just one more time. ” He cocked up his eyebrows.
My eyes looked everywhere but him now. If I were to look at him, I would probably cave into his request.
“ Look at me. ” He insisted, putting his hand on my chin, but not moving it.
I took a deep breath and looked at him. His eyes were dark, his lips turned slightly up into a smirk, his face no longer tinted from blushing.
“ You’re so beautiful, ” He whispered out, moving to hover his lips over mine, “ So beautiful. ” His lips then sloppily crashed into mine, hungry for me. His hands roamed under my shirt, caressing my waist. My hands wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer. The kiss was becoming very heated very quickly.
“ Let’s stop. ” I said out of breath.
“ Why? ” He groaned out, shifting my body on his.
“ Because… If I start, I won’t want to stop. ” I whispered out almost a shamed of myself.
“ Then don’t. ” His was quick to say.
His eyes searched for mine, making sure that it was alright and once I nodded letting him know I wanted this, he attacked my lips once more, dragging the kisses down to my neck and sucking lightly. His hands squeezed my thighs, slowly moving his hands under my shirt, cupping my breast. I moaned into the kiss, letting his tongue slip in and roam my mouth. He lifted me off his thigh, breaking the kiss, making me stand on the bed.
“ Take your clothes off. ” He groaned out.
I slid my shorts off my legs, keeping his shirt on.
“ You said you like when I wear your clothes. I think I should keep this on. ” I said playing with the hem of the shirt.
He let out a deep husky groan and grabbed my thighs, signaling me to lower myself. I moved closer to him, still standing. He placed his head near my womanhood. His hand crept up my thigh and a finger slide in between my slick folds, causing a soft moan to escape my lips.
“ Fuck you’re already so wet for me Noona. ”
“ Only for you Jungkook. ” I moaned out after he rubbed my clit painfully slow.
He removed his finger, pulling away from my needy core, making me almost cry out from the lack of contact.
“ Lay down for me noona. ”
I quickly obeyed his command and laid down on my back, spreading my legs wide for him.
“ God. You look so fucking hot in my shirt. And your pretty pussy is so wet for me. ”
Before he played with me, he removed his shirt and pants, leaving him in just his boxers that didn’t help hide he hardening member.
His fingers roamed around everywhere on my lower body except the one spot I needed him.
“ Jungkook. ” I groaned out.
“ Tell me what you want noona. ” His voice low and raspy, his fingers still gliding over my lower body.
“ Jungkook don’t make me beg. ” I whined out.
“ Beg for me noona. Tell me what you want. ”
“ You, ” I whined out, “ Please Jungkook, I want you inside of me. ”
His lips curved into a smile, “ Of course noona.”
He slid two fingers into my core, causing me to gasp out. His pace started slow and steady, I bucked my hips up hoping to increase the pleasure, but he placed his hand down on my hip, keeping me in place. I could already tell what he was doing and what he wanted me to do. At this point, I was getting frustrated.
“ Faster. ” I moaned out.
“ Not yet. ” He murmured out.
“ Jungkook, please. I need more, go faster. ” I moaned out again.
He placed a soft kiss on my inner thigh and began pumping faster inside of me. My hands found his hair, dragging him closer to my core wanting him to use his mouth too.
“ So needy. ” He cockily spoke.
“ Shut up and just do it, please. ” I said as politely as I could.
He blew onto my throbbing core before placing a soft kiss on my clit, making me buck my hips in response, the knot in my stomach tightening. His lips then wrapped themselves around my sensitive spot and began sucking. Jungkook’s finger were working their magic inside me, hitting my g-spot every time.
Before I could warn Jungkook, the knot in my stomach released itself, causing me to have an earth-shaking orgasm. My hands continued to pull on his hair, trying to ride out my climax.
“ Noona, you taste so fucking good. ” He said placing a chaste kiss on my lips, making me taste myself. “ You came for me so quickly noona, that’s no fun. Do I drive you that insane?” He continued to hover over me, his eyes scanning every part of my body.
“ Noona, I know I said you look great in my clothes but I love your naked body even more.”
I locked my eyes onto his, still out of recovering from my high, I spoke to him. “ So why don’t we take this off then? ”
His signature smirk plastered on his face, he cockily replied. “ I’ll be more than happy to take it off.”
He pulled the shirt over my head and threw it somewhere on the floor. He lowered his head down to my now exposed breast and took one into his mouth. The way his mouth worked around my breast almost made me ready to cum for him again. Not forgetting to please my other breast, he began massaging it. He enclosed my sensitive nipple in between his index and thumb, rolling it around and tugging the nub.
“ Jungkook that feels so good. ” I breathlessly let out.
He removed his mouth from the breast he was working his magical mouth on and switched to pleasure the other one. I let another soft moan, throwing my head back in pleasure.
“ Jungkook please give me more. I need more.” I begged.
His mouth removed itself from my breast on more time making me whine out again from the lack of sensation.
“ Tell me what you want, baby. I’ll give you anything and everything. ” His voice was heavy with lust. He pulled down the only item of clothing he had on down to his feet and kicked it away, leaving him completely naked.
“ You. ” I begged again, bucking my hips up so that they would reach his member. “ I want you to fuck me with your hard cock. Please.”
Jungkook rubbed my inner thighs before placing his hand on his clothed member. He let out a small his from the contact.
“ You want this baby? ” He said palming himself through his boxers, letting out a soft grunt.
I eagerly nodded my head, “ please baby, I want it.” He removed his boxers, causing his hard on to spring to life. I could practically feel the drool coming out of my mouth. He moved closer to me, rubbing himself through my wet folds.
I bucked my hips, “ Please Jungkook. I need you inside me. ”
He let out a deep chuckle, “ Beg for me again, Noona.”
I was about to beg again, but Jungkook slammed his hard member into me. The sudden impact causing me to not make any noises. Just my open mouth, all sounds stuck in my throat.
“ Fuck you’re so tight for me Yoo Mi. ”
He continued to slam himself hard into me, only making my moans louder than before.
“ Jungkook faster, go f-faster. ”
He did the opposite of what I asked and slowed his speed down.
“ Baby, relax. I’ll take real good care of you. ”
He removed his member from inside of me and flipped me over so that I was now on my stomach.
“ Get on your hands and knees. ” I hastily obeyed and was on my hands and knees.
“ You were so clumsy today baby. I keep telling you to be careful. ” His semi rough hand was rubbing my butt. “ You almost fell in the pool.” Before he said anything else, his hand slapped my ass. Loving the pain and it slowly turning me on, I let out an involuntary moan.
“ Then you spilled the soda everywhere because you almost fell out of the chair. ” Another smack was given to me, this time even harder.
“ You also almost got us caught while holding my hand by my hyungs. ” This slap was harder than the first two and a weak whimper left my mouth.
This pain that he was inflicting on me felt so good and I couldn’t help but become aroused by this. I’m pretty sure you could see my juices dropping from womanhood down my thighs.
Jungkook started to gently soothe my stinging butt, placing a few kisses on the cheek he spanked.
“You like when I spank you Noona? You barley reacted when I spanked your pretty ass.”
I vigorously nodded my head, “ Yes, I love when you spank me Jungkook. ” I spoke, my voice sounding small and fragile.
His fingers were now drawing lazy circles around my red butt, “ What do you want me to do to you baby? Should I fuck you from behind and spank you each time you moan? Or should I let you ride my hard cock while I play with those beautiful tits of yours?”
I started to grow a little impatient with his teasing and talking, so I pushed him down onto the bed and started hovering over him.
“ I just want to fuck you Jungkook. ” I practically cried out to him. A small chuckle left his mouth.
Then fuck me. ” His voice sounded oh so cocky, “ I want you to fuck yourself on my cock. I want to see you to cum all over me. ”
I didn’t hesitate and lowered my throbbing entrance over his member. I then slowly slid myself up and down his member, using my juices to lube him up. He sucked in a hard breath, hissing at the friction.
“ Go ahead baby girl. Ride me. ”
His voice alone could make me cum, so I quickly lowered myself on him, his member filling me up completely. I sat him for a minute trying to adjust to his size from this position.
Once I was comfortable, I slowly starting rocking my hips back and forth at a slow pace and then slowly speeding up. I tossed my head back, loving the way I moved myself on him. Jungkook’s mouth would slip out and occasional, ’ you’re so tight baby’, or a ’ fuck, you look so good riding me.’
Moving myself faster, I could feel my climax coming way too quickly for my own liking. Embarrassed to cum so early again, I stopped riding him. His head shot forward, his eyes looking at me.
“ Did I say you could stop? ”
“ Baby I was going to cum. I don’t wanna cum yet.” I whined out.
His hand found my ass again, filling the room with the sound of his hand to my backside. “ I didn’t say you could stop. Now I’m going to fuck you til you cum on me twice.”
Before I could protest, he shifted himself to the headboard, lifting his upper body so that he was sitting up against the pillows at an angle. He moved his hands to my waist and then he mercilessly started to slam himself inside of me. With each thrust, my mouth could do nothing but call out Jungkook’s name. As he was slamming himself inside of me, he wrapped his mouth around my nipple, sucking and slightly bitting the sensitive bud. I threw my head back from the over load of pleasure.
“ J-Jun-Jungkook I-I’m goi-ing to cum, don’t s-stop. ” I cried out.
His thrust only increased faster, his mouth still maliciously attacking my nipple. He removed a hand from my waist and placed it on my other breast. He kneed my breast before taking my erect nipple between his fingers and pinching and twisting it. The increased pleasure only made my orgasm come closer.
“ P-Please-ahh- don’t stop. I-I’m about to cum.”
Between his hard cock inside of me, his balls thrusting up and smacking my ass, his pretty mouth around my nipple, and a hand playing with my other nipple, I knew I would only last another minute.
“ Fuck, baby girl. Cum all over me. ”
I could feel my body starting to unravel on top of him. My eyesight went black and all I could see were stars. My body had love way Jungkook indulged himself in me. His touch alone was like being cloud 9.
After riding out my high, Jungkook didn’t stop slamming himself into me. The once gratifying feeling was now starting to become pain.
“ Jungkook please stop. ” I whined out, “ It hurts.”
My pleas to stop seemed to be unheard because Jungkook only slammed himself harder and faster inside of me. His thrust were still pretty stable and I could tell he still wasn’t close to cumming yet.
The pain wasn’t subsiding and I could feel a third climax coming close. My mouth was now wrapped around Jungkook’s shoulder, bitting down to hold back any noises that would come out.
“ Fuck, baby I’m so close to cumming. ” He grunted out.
His thrust we sloppy and uneven and his breathing was hard and labored. Jungkook continued to assault my core. Before he could release himself, my third excruciating orgasm hit. I couldn’t help but scream at the intensity of the wave of pain that ripped through my body.
“ Fuck noona,” Jungkook growled out.
Jungkook finally hit his climax, releasing himself inside of me. I found enough strength to lift myself off of Jungkook, not giving him a chance to ride out his high.
Rolling over, I laid myself on the empty spot next to him. Jungkook got off the bed and made his way to the bathroom. I could faintly hear the sink running, but I couldn’t tell because of my state.
“ Noona, let me clean you up. ” He whispered in my ear. I let out a small hum letting him know it’s okay to clean me off.
“ Noona, I’m sorry I didn’t stop. ” He whispered out.
I shot my eyes open and slightly lifted my head to watch Jungkook clean me off, “ It’s okay this time Jungkook, but if I ask you to stop next time, please stop. ”
He let out a small okay and slowly cleaned me up, “ Did I hurt you when I spanked you? ”
I let out a small laugh, “ If stung a little but I really liked it.”
His innocent doe eyes found mind, “ Really? ”
I shook my head, “ I just like when you touch me Jungkook. Whether you’re holding my hand or spanking me, I like it a lot. ”
He threw the rag in the corner of my room, he slowly started to hover over me, “ So should I hold you when we fall asleep? ”
I could see his face was tinged with a slight shade of pink. “ I guess that would be okay. ” I playfully spoke out.
Jungkook rolled over to my side, positioning himself as the big spoon. “ Hurry up and lay in my arms Noona.”
I let out a small giggle but slowly moved my pained body towards him. He quickly wrapped his arm around my waist and secured his position.
“ Let’s get some sleep Kookie.” I murmured out into his arm, placing a soft kiss on one of his veins.
He gave me an okay and kissed the back of my head. Snuggling himself even closer.
“ Noona, did I make you come three times tonight ?”

“Yongsun-ssi.” She muttered inaudibly, snuggling deeper into the covers before falling silent again. “Yongsun-ssi!” The only response she got was a soft snore. Moonbyul pinched the bridge of her nose exasperatedly. “You leave me no choice.” Going to the foot of the bed, she grabbed the duvet, balling up the fabric in her fists. Grinning mischievously, she yanked the covers towards her whilst simultaneously shouting, “Wake up, yeba!”
No response.
Moonbyul groaned, but immediately surrendered, knowing that all her attempts at waking her girlfriend up would be futile, especially if there wasn’t the urgency of a schedule motivating her to get out of bed. She pulled the covers back over Solar, who hadn’t budged an inch. As she was about to leave the room, a low voice reached her ears, “Byul-ah... Come back, it’s cold…” Moonbyul sighed but complied nonetheless, unable to resist Solar’s soft plea as the corners of her mouth quirked upwards. Slipping under the covers, she lay on her side, leaving the two face to face.
“Yah, yeba, are you just going to be lazy all day?” Moonbyul couldn’t stop smiling at Solar, whose eyes were still screwed shut, lips parted slightly.
“Just a couple… more… hours…” she mumbled.
“Hours?!” Solar didn’t reply. “Honestly…” she sighed. “I’m not sure if having no schedule today is a good thing or not.” She poked Solar’s nose. “You just want to sleep all day. I’m practically dating a rock.” She placed her hands on Solar’s cheeks, squishing them gently. “A mochi rock.” She let out a soft laugh. “You’re so cute and pretty.”
“It’s too early... for your greasiness...” Solar mumbled.
Moonbyul only giggled before attacking her with a barrage of gentle kisses: first her forehead, then her nose, her cheek, her jaw, then the corner of her mouth before a soft peck on the lips. “Get up, you adorable sleeping mochi rock.”
Solar scrunched up her nose slightly, muttering, “Byul-ah…” She trailed off softly, slipping back under the sweet spell of slumber, but not before scooting closer and placing her hand on the rapper’s, a small, sweet smile gracing her lips. Moonbyul felt her heart skip a beat, and she interlaced their hands, pressing her lips to the back of Solar’s hand. She couldn’t help but grin, brushing away a few stray strands of hair from her beloved’s face, leaving another small kiss on Solar’s forehead before propping her head up with her free hand, admiring the astounding beauty in front of her as the sun rays filtered through the half-drawn curtains. The sigh that left her mouth this time was not one of exasperation.
Sometimes, she wondered why she even bothered to complain.
She’d just end up falling deeper in love anyway.
A while later, Solar finally woke up and proceeded to stagger towards the bathroom after pressing a quick kiss to Moonbyul’s cheek, who had finally dozed off after a while. Rubbing her eyes in attempt to clear her bleary vision, she stared at her hazy reflection.
Something looked off.
She squinted as she saw something on her face, blinking rapidly, eyebrows furrowing while leaning closer to the mirror. Her eyes slowly widened at the sight of a black, scrawly, hastily coloured-in moustache that unmistakably smelled of ink from a marker pen.
Solar was definitely wide awake now.
“MOON BYUL YI, YOU—” Another deafening shout emanated from the bathroom a split second later. “ARE YOU F— BYUL-AH, THE INK ISN’T COMING OFF!”
Moonbyul couldn’t suppress her uncontrollable laughter from under the sheets even if she tried. She chucked the marker from under her pillow onto the floor, finally dropping the sleeping façade. “Aren’t you glad we don’t have a schedule today?” She sat on the edge of the bed, clutching her abdomen in the fit of giggles as she watched Solar rubbing the moustache furiously with soap. Moonbyul decided that the sight of Solar with an ugly ink moustache and water and foam and bubbles dripping down her face should never be forgotten; she promptly took a high-quality photo with her phone before sending it to the other 2 members of MAMAMOO.
“YOU—”
“Aigoo~ I’ll still love you with that hideous moustache, don’t worry!”
“BYUL-AAAAHHHHHH!”
(Needless to say, Whee In and Hwasa laughed their asses off when they came over during lunch.)
